Fisher Appliance Troubleshooting
Fisher & Paykel has been designing products since 1934 and has grown into a global company with products sold in more than 50 countries around the world. Their design heritage is founded on a pioneering spirit and a culture of curiosity. They built their legacy with a future focus that still stays true to the fundamentals of sustainable design. They believe technology should always begin with the people who use it. This has seen us challenge conventional appliance design to create products that deliver to genuine human need.
Dishwasher Troubleshooting
The DishDrawer won't start
Check that the power is connected.
Check that your dishwasher's Lock mode is not activated. To do this, hold down the Lock button until the Lock symbol (pre-finished models) or the green light (integrated models) disappears.
Check that the door is closed properly.
Check that the Start/Pause button has been pressed.
Dishes are not clean at the end of the cycle
Check that the wash programme is suitable for the load.
Scrape off excess food from dinnerware before loading and pre-soak baked-on food residue.
Check that the spray arm is able to rotate freely.
Check that your DishDrawer is not overloaded or loaded incorrectly.
Check that the detergent is in the correct (larger) compartment.
Check that you are using the right amount of detergent.

Check the filter plate/drain filter is clean.
Dishes are not dry at the end of the cycle
Check that the Rinse Aid dispenser is filled.
Check that your DishDrawer is not overloaded or loaded incorrectly.
Try increasing the Rinse Aid setting.
If you were using the Eco wash setting, try a standard wash program.
The DishDrawer is leaking water
Check that the drainage hose is connected securely to the waste pipe.
Check that the inlet hose is connected securely.
The DishDrawer won't drain
Check for and straighten any kinks in the drainage hose.
Check for and clear any blockages in the filter plate/drain filter.
The DishDrawer's motor is noisy
Check that the filter plate/spray arm is correctly placed.
Excess noise may be caused by a lack of water in the motor area. This usually occurs on the first use or when the DishDrawer has not been used for long periods of time.
The DishDrawer is making intermittent beeping noises
Check that the pause function has not been activated. To do this, close the drawer and press the Start/Pause button.
Dryer Troubleshooting
The dryer won't start
Check that the dryer is plugged in and switched on at the wall. Try another power socket to be sure.
Check that the Child Lock function is turned off.
Check that the door is closed properly.
Switch the power off at the wall, wait 60 seconds and switch it back on.
Laundry is damp at the end of the cycle
Check that you're using the correct cycle for the laundry items you are drying.
Check that the dryer is not overloaded, then redistribute the load evenly in the machine.
The dryer is leaking water (condensing model only)
Check the water tank and empty if it's full.
Check that the drainage hose is connected correctly and is not damaged or blocked.
Laundry is covered in lint at the end of the cycle
Check that the lint filter is clean.
Check that the dryer hasn't been overloaded, then redistribute the load evenly in the machine.
Try drying lint-prone laundry items such as towels separately.
Check that you are using the correct cycle for your laundry to prevent over-drying.
Laundry items are tangled at the end of the cycle
Try separating larger items from smaller items.
Shake out laundry items before loading them into the dryer individually.
Range Troubleshooting
The oven won't turn on
Check the mains power or the isolation switch - this is usually in the kitchen. If there has been a power failure recently, your oven will need to be serviced.
The oven door won't open
Your oven may be in Self-Clean mode (selected models only). If so, the door will unlock when the oven has cooled to a safe temperature.
The oven light doesn't work
Check the bulb. If it needs replacing, order a new one.
The glass door is broken
There can be a delay after an impact or knock before the glass shatters. This is usually easy to repair.
The oven isn't heating
Check that the oven door is closed properly. Oven elements and fans will switch off automatically if the door is open or ajar.
The display is on but the oven won't work
The oven's Automatic Cooking, Child Lock or Control Lock functions (selected models only) may have been activated. Check your Use and Care manual for instructions on how to turn these functions off.
The fan doesn't stop when the oven is turned off
If you have a wall oven, the cooling fan will run for up to two hours after it is switched off to reduce the temperature.
Refrigerator Troubleshooting
The refrigerator isn't running
Switch the power off at the wall, unplug the refrigerator, wait 60 seconds, plug it back in and switch the power on again.
Check that there has not been a power failure at your address.
The internal light isn't working
Check the bulb. If it needs replacing, order a new one.
The motor seems to run for long periods
This may happen when the weather is hot or the door is being opened often. Minimise door openings to allow the temperature in the refrigerator to stabilise.
The refrigerator door may not be sealing properly. Check that the cabinet is level and the gasket seals are clean.
The storage compartments are too warm
Check that the correct temperature is set.
Minimise door openings to allow the refrigerator temperature to stabilise.
There is condensation on the outside of the refrigerator
This is not unusual during periods of high humidity. Wipe the outside surface dry.
Ice from the ice cube trays has a taste or odour
Tastes and odours can be transferred from foods that have not been covered properly. To keep ice cubes fresh, wrap strong-smelling foods.
Food in the refrigerator is freezing
In ActiveSmart models, food may freeze if it has been placed directly in front of the air outlets. Try moving chill-sensitive foods away from the centre of the shelf.
In Cyclic and Compact models, food may freeze if it has been placed directly in contact with the evaporator plate. Try moving chill-sensitve foods away from the rear of the refrigerator.
There is condensation inside the fresh food compartment
Condensation can form when the weather is humid or the door has been opened frequently. Minimise door openings to allow the temperature to stabilise and wipe the surfaces dry.
The door gasket may be leaking. Check that the gasket is sitting flat and sealing tightly.
There is water in the vegetable bins
The water produced by unwrapped vegetables may cause condensation. Try storing vegetables loosely wrapped in plastic bags - but bear in mind that a small amount of condensation is important for vegetable storage.
Ice has built up inside the freezer compartment
The freezer door may not be closing properly. Try moving items so the door can close tightly and check that the door gasket seal is clean. If you have a non-frost free model, defrost the freezer if the ice is more than 6mm deep.

Check that the detergent dispenser drawer is closed properly.
Check the rubber seal on the inside of the door for damage. If the seal is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
The wash cycle is taking longer than normal/the machine is displaying inaccurate time remaining
Your machine's wash cycle time is an approximation and can vary depending on a number of factors, including household water pressure, unbalanced wash loads and a build-up of detergent suds. Differing cycle times will not affect the quality of the wash.
Detergent/fabric conditioner is left in the detergent dispenser drawer at the end of the wash cycle
Check that the detergent dispenser drawer is closed properly from the start of the wash cycle.
Check that the detergent dispenser drawer is clean.
Check that the detergent dispenser drawer has not been overfilled.

Fisher appliance difficulty
5 weeks to replace a thermostat on a new $3000 oven. When raising the issue with F/P customer service I was told by a rather rude person that if the proposed time doesnt suit them Then they would schedule the repair for an even later date. Simply not good enough. Call center staff made it clear they were not interested in dealing with me as an individual just a number. Never again.
I know that Fisher and Paykel makes other appliances but Im only familiar with their dishwasher. I like their double drawer dishwasher, the two in one. Its a very good dishwasher.
I was renovating my apartment and so I was replacing everything. When I went in to the distributor to buy a refrigerator, the distributor showed me Fisher Paykel and I liked it. It seemed to have the features I wanted. It had the proper dimensions that I needed to fit in the kitchen and it was stainless steel. It seemed to be fine. The only objection I would have to it is they have a very strange design in so far as their water filter is concerned. I never would have bought the thing had I not been doing a major renovation because they mount the water filter outside the refrigerator. While all the other manufacturers, you just screw the filter in inside the refrigerator and youre done with it. But you need a plumber to put the thing together. And the plumber basically who put it in initially was not familiar with it, so he installed it incorrectly. I had to have him take it out and redo the installation. But its worked.I havent had it very long. Its fine for me right now. The longevity of the thing is going to be important because in the past few years, I have not had luck with refrigerators and they dont seem to last. So well see if this one lasts. I did, which I never had done before, take a long term contract out of the thing. Overall, I would give my friend the caveat that you may have an issue with needing a plumber to install the thing rather than just having the distributor come and install it because of that filter. In fact, the crazy thing is I have the refrigerator obviously in my kitchen, but the water filter is in my bathroom because you have to mount the filter very close to the source of water.
I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!
We bought this top load washer after being told it was one of the best and it is literally destroying our clothing. Even brand new clothes after one wash come out with rips, tears, and holes. It is absolutely unacceptable for a washing machine to destroy the clothes it is supposed to be cleaning.
We purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, which was far more expensive than any other fridge that we considered. After delivery, we called to say that it was not cooling. The technician came once and added gas. After a day, it again stopped cooling. The technician came again, realized that there was a leak, and soldered some wires. When it started working, it was noisy. We called again, and they said they would replace the fridge the following week. They sent a truck to pick up the faulty one, and when we called the store to ask when the new one would be delivered, we learned that FP had changed their mind and did not want us as customers. We were left with rotting food and no fridge.
Intuitive Eco washing machine. We have endured and continue to experience water on the floor despite two repair sessions by so-called certified and recommended companies. Now we have a Code 52; Repairmen plural cannot diagnose where leak is coming from. Repair service is slow in San Antonio and very poor at best. Washing machines are a need, this unit is headed for the junk yard! We bought a new washing machine yesterday to replace this awful Fisher Paykel washing machine.
We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...
I’ve had a Fisher & Paykel set since 1999. I don’t know about now but the dryer I have is actually made by GE (General Electric). As at that time they didn’t make dryers. I have never had a problem with the dryer. When I bought the set from an appliance dealer, they told me it was easy and inexpensive to work on the washer, and the dryer was a GE. I had to replace the control panel on the washer, around 10 years in as I think lightning hit it. It was plug and play. I put it on and the part was $80. I let one of those color Catcher sheets get into my pump, as I tried to save and cut one in half for a small load, that caused a problem. Had to get it removed by a repairman. I would never buy an appliance from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Actually only an appliance store that has service department. You may save a little, but you lose it quickly down the road. It seems odd that 7 people on here have complaints. Fisher & Payless is actually made in New Zealand. I haven’t needed to call in 10 years, but the last time I spoke to someone in New Zealand. I wanted a Maytag when I bought this set, but they are no longer in business. They were bought out by Whirlpool. Too many problems with their products. I try to buy top of the line.... My builder put GE Profile appliances in my house, and they have been fine since 1999. However I do take care of my things, and they take care of me. Something I was taught by my parents 50+ years ago....
After 8 months, my 24 range stopped working. Two weeks after my initial service call, the service people said they had the parts and scheduled a repair for Tuesday, April 17. I took the morning off, but they did not arrive in time to do the job. So I had to reschedule my service call for today. They said they would be here by 1pm. Then they called back to say they had made a mistake and that in fact, they did not have the part, because it was on back order. So my lost morning off work on Tuesday was for nothing. I am still without the use of my oven. I would like a replacement oven. I paid top dollar for a fancy oven, and not only did it break so soon, it cannot even be repaired in a timely manner. I called Fisher Paykel and stayed on hold for 5 minutes before speaking to someone. I told them what had happened, and they just said to wait for the part to come in and reschedule my appointment and that there was nothing they could do, unless my stove could not be repaired. Meanwhile, 2 lost days at work and no oven for over 2 weeks! I was told I could call back in a few hours and talk to the management team, which I plan to do.
I was in the store and the salesman told me about Fisher & Paykel. He offered me a good price and had told me there were some people who worked there who owned that brand and they were happy. And I was on a real tight price limit and he was able to meet it, so I went with Fisher & Paykel. It’s my first purchase with them and hope that it’s my last, meaning I don’t want to have to buy another washer and dryer ever. The price is a little bit better. There were a couple of things I liked, one of which is the favorites button of the washer. Also the salesman told me something about most washing machines have hundreds of parts in them compared to Fisher & Paykel so I figured that when it breaks, which everything breaks, I might have a better shot at fixing it on my own. I would definitely recommend Fisher & Paykel.
I bought a FP two-drawer dishwasher about 5 years ago. It cost me a small fortune! We had our cabinets custom made to fit the FP dishwasher. It has been nothing but problems since the moment we got it. Now, it is on its last legs. It constantly fills up with water and my husband has to take the drawers out and wet-vac it, then put a de-humidifier in front of it for at least 24hrs. Once it is finally dry, he has to go into the basement and turn the electricity back on (which he shuts off to do this whole drying process). Inevitably, after one or two cycles it fills with water again and starts beeping. The beeping does not stop until we shut the power off again in the basement. The process repeats endlessly. We have had repairmen look at it and they say they see it all the time and there is nothing they can do with FP products, they are just not made well. My mother has had the same cheap Sears dishwasher for almost 30 years! I would love to replace it but I resent the fact that I paid so much for it and it is junk. Plus, Im afraid I will have to buy the same one again since my cabinets were specially designed to fit that model and I am afraid I will have the same problems with a new one.
Drawer Dishwasher - Well of course it washes dishes and that is great. I do think the rinse cycle could be improved. On occasion the dishes come out streaked as though the final rinse didnt rinse. I have Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwashers in my home in Alaska, in my Fifth wheeler, and on our boat. So there is no doubt that I like the product, but the rinse cycle is routinely frustrating. Thank you for this opportunity to give this information.
I bought a Fisher and Paykel dryer less than six years ago and the major drum has already gone out. The dryer has not been used that much as I am a widow and hang my clothes out in nice weather. It will cost so much to replace it and it is also throwing little pieces of metal in lint trap. I will have to buy a new dryer and it will not be this brand. I am on very limited income and it is putting a hardship on me to have to replace. The reason I bought the set is it came highly rated. Will not recommend to anyone.
I went on holidays on 16/12/2014, came back to find my less than 3 year old f/P decided to break down with food in it which was not due to go out of code till end on January. Lo and behold came home to a stinking ham, cheese, butter, yogurt, eggs popped off like in ghost busters and salami, mayo, mustard, tomato sauce all through the fridge. Then to find out I had to wait 3 days for service as they only have 1 tech for the whole of Mitchell Park!!!
I had purchased a 6 burner range with DCS brand. The hinges have failed over the years so thought I would replace them. There are many places to buy the parts but thought I would go right to the source. I ordered parts and was assured delivery within 5-7 days. After 2-1/2 weeks I called them. They have no proof of the order. I sent them the confirmation that they sent me showing order number, price, and charged credit card. I sent that back to them and that was not enough proof. I had to go track down and submit proof from my credit card statement that I was in fact charged. I sent that to them and still have not heard anything back. I will give it one more day and then I will fight it with credit card company. I really rely on customer service especially when purchasing something as expensive as this range was. This will be the last time I ever order any appliance with a brand name affiliated with this group. Very disappointed customer!!
We went to Gorsuch Appliance in Canton and they were telling us about the Fisher & Paykel. My Maytag washer died after 18 years so I switched to the Fisher & Paykel on their recommendation. What sold me on the product was the no agitator thing and that it weighed the load. Also because Maytag is not what it used to be. I like the washer. Compared to what my other one was, its slow and I thought these new washers were faster. It takes a little longer, but I can get more clothes in. Thats a big plus. And Ive only had one time where it was off balanced and that was the first time that I washed sheets and I didnt read the instructions properly.
I love my Fisher Paykel dishwasher. This is actually my 2nd one. For many years I had one in my previous home and loved it. It was one item I hated to leave when we decided to sell our large home and downsize to a smaller home. We were fortunate that our new home had the same 2 drawer dishwasher and I am still loving it. The benefit of being able to use only one drawer or both is a great benefit. The extra benefit is that it delivers a superior cleaning every time.
We owned a KitchenAid dishwasher for 30 years without a hitch. When we updated the kitchen, the salesman from Grand Appliance recommended the Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer. What a mistake. It has never worked right. We have had so many service calls that I cant count them. I will replace it eventually with another KitchenAid. Perhaps you should take this one and analyze it like they do in med school with corpses - and perhaps you can figure out where you went wrong. By the way, not only is the electrical stuff faulty, but it simply does not clean the dishes. If I wash them first, it might sort of rinse them. Plus, to run it for 132 minutes for the small amount of dishes it holds is not exactly eco-friendly.
Wow. I wish I had read these reviews before buying my FP washer. I thought I had a great item. Same story. At least, I got nearly four years out of it, exceptional compared to other stories! Whining noise, just drains water, no wash cycle, Ive thought of calling a repairman but based on these reviews, I am going to trash this mess and get a Maytag. The American consumer is fed up with paying top dollar for poor products. This company will be hanging its head when they go out of business due to poor sales. Do not buy FP! Shame on you corporate greed FP! Your sales up this month? See what they are in five years. You have to get 10 happy customers to offset the decrease in sales due to one dissatisfied customer (Business 101). From the look of these reviews, one would say youre behind the eight ball.Who has money to throw away like this? Public school teacher who hasnt had a raise or COLA in four years in a non-union state (very low wages), widow, raising three kids alone, cost of living and gas prices increasing exponentially. And the clothes washer dies, in spite of the $800 or so I spent on it four years ago. How much did the CEO of Fisher-Paykel net last year? Corporate greed and environmental devastation, how long will it take my lousy washing machine to biodegrade in some landfill? Americans are fed up.
We purchased an F&P EcoSmart Washer and Dryer set in 2009. Six months later, the dryer began making high-pitched squeaking noises. We figured it was the design and just covered our ears when drying clothes. The squeaking turned into moaning, and the moaning turned into unbearable metal-on-metal gnashing - its abhorrent. To top it off, the dryer drum has now shifted off of the tracks, meaning that it must be manually forced back onto the tracks and pried open with human hands.Im sick of fighting my dryer for custody of my clothes. I contacted F&P about this last month, and they told me to contact an authorized F&P service company. One hundred dollars an hour to diagnose the problem, plus $100 an hour for repairs, plus parts? No, thanks. Id rather go buy a new Kenmore. Until that lovely day, I ensure everyone who steps foot in my house and hears the travesty in the laundry room knows its a Fisher and Paykel!
Going strong for 15 years. Lights blink to advise a problem. Count number of blinks, look it up and problem solved. In 15 years only one issue. A sock got stuck in the tubing. Detailed instructions showed how to remove it. Automatic load adjustment & water level sensor.
We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I just bought them all this year so I dont know how they would behave in the future. The only thing is when I need a spare part, its really tough to find one.
I have just had an engineer visit to assess a problem with my appliance . The engineer , Adam, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and I had confidence in his diagnosis of the problem . He is a great ambassador for the company .
I love the Fisher and Paykel two-drawer dishwasher. Its different from a regular one. I love the fact that I dont have to unload one and I could still wash dishes in the other one. Its really nice.
Aquasmart Washer and Aerosmart Dryer - These are wonderful appliances. Both are efficient and inexpensive to use, though a bit noisy. But the upside is, they let you know immediately, with various beeps, when things need readjusting inside. They are fairly compact and fit in the smallish laundry room nicely. The clothes come out beautifully clean and not beat-up.
I have the 2 drawer dishwasher and absolutely love it. It took me about a month to retrain my loading habits, but once I did I really think its great!
My dryer was going and I recognized it and it was quite old. So rather than putting money into repairing it, I went to a local appliance center here in North Canton thats well known and well respected and they introduced me to the Fisher & Paykel line. I bought a F&P because the warranty was better than everyone else and it has a good reputation... Its a wonderful machine. Its quiet, its efficient and it does a good job!
We bought our F&P Dish Drawer DD603 in 2002 during a kitchen remodel along with new countertops, Sub-zero, stove, microwave, etc. I would say we use our dishwasher regularly but no more than expected and especially at the price we paid. That said, I think at this point, Ive paid in repair costs pretty much what I paid for the unit plus extended warranty plus installation back then. When our extended service warranty ran out years ago, the DIY in me took on the task of diagnosing, buying, and replacing the parts myself. However, Im now at the point of deciding whether to cut my losses and toss the whole thing out. Last Oct., there was a leak, which rendered the unit inoperable. I replaced the shorted main filter board, both top and bottom wiring harness, and the bottom controller. All was well for about a month. Then, it looked like the top drawers lid wasnt closing securely as I find moisture on the side of the tub after a complaint of beeping dilemma. (She swears there wasnt anything remotely big in the tub that would prevent the lid from closing.) In any case, the top drawer controller seems to be a goner.Last night, I replaced the top controller. The top unit did light up, but my wife did the trial run using the bottom drawer instead. The top drawer practically beeped all night and no amount of coaxing, turn off, lock, open drawer, etc., would silence it. No codes, just R2D2 on a binge. Whats next? Replace the main filter again, a bad controller, replace the actuators, the entire lid, etc.? I have two choices now: (a) somehow rig this unit to see if it can operate with the good bottom drawer only or (b) cut my losses, parcel out my recently purchased parts on eBay, and replace the dishwasher? One of my neighbors bought the same F&P DD unit, but Im afraid to check with her about her experience.
MY husband and I bought our Dream Home which included 2 brand new Fisher Paykel drawers. While I absolutely love the concept of having 2 drawers, this is the worst appliance we have ever, ever, ever owned! The drawers have been repaired so many times weve decided to replace the drawers with a different Brand dishwasher. We are considering taking legal action. We will never own another Fisher Paykel product.
I bought a new house and I needed a refrigerator for it. We had a very unique space that could not change. I had a space requirement that no other manufacturer made a refrigerator in the size, depth, width and height that I needed except Fisher & Paykel. It has everything that we wanted in it. We’ve had a very good experience with Fisher & Paykel and would definitely recommend them.
Fisher Paykel is horrible! I paid top dollar and I mean TOP dollar for Fisher and Paykel appliances. The dishwasher is noisy compared to Bosch, the cooktop on the range was defective TWICE and the range had to be replaced. I had a spill on Christmas day and it got between the glass on the oven door and there is no way to clean it. The microwave is no better than the Panasonic Genius if as good. (Not nearly the versatility) but so far the refrigerator seems OK. Stay away from this Premium Product. You are throwing your money away!
Horrible, horrible machine. I purchased a washer in 2007. The diverter valve had to be replaced within one year. Next, the pump failed; water leaked everywhere and shorted out the computer. We waited several weeks for replacement part. That pump failed as well. Another new pump was replaced in March 2011, and now the machine is leaking again. The water is coming from the pump. We called F&P customer service, and after discussing our problems with F&P, we were shocked to learn that you cant use bleach in these machines. To me this seems like someone selling a lawn mower that cannot cut grass. I will never buy an F&P product again. Ive read F&Ps responses on this site, and their responses are wholly unsatisfactory. Sure machines will need maintenance and repair, but I think a machine is inherently defective when its cost of repairs exceeds the purchase price within a short period of time.
Fisher Paykel Intuitive Dryer - We purchased a new Fisher Paykel washer and dryer three years ago which was installed in our new home on an interior wall with a straight shot through the roof exhaust pipe. After only four months of using the new dryer, the exhaust pipe became stopped-up with a considerable amount of lint. The exhaust cap on the roof had to be removed to allow access for removal of the lint from the exhaust pipe. This process had to be repeated about every 4 to 5 months since. Since the dryer lint basket very seldom collected lint and had to be emptied, four weeks ago we had the service technician out who determined the lint screen had been torn in numerous areas. Since the lint screen is within an enclosed area, he advised there must be some defect in the dryer lint basket which was cutting the screen. Over a period of time if left unchecked, this could have become a fire hazard. Is there something that can be done to prevent this from happening again? If so, please advise.
A few short years ago I bought a new F&P fridge. About 12 months outside warranty it stopped working. The technician told me the failure was so serious it would be cheaper for me to buy a new fridge. Which I did. Foolishly I bought another F&P (I was still laboring under the delusion it was a good brand.) That fridge stopped working three months outside the warranty period. The technician (from F&P) tried to fix it once and failed. Tried a second time and failed. By this time I had been without a fridge for days. He then tells me he will have to send way for parts and that might take a few days. In the same breath he tells me hes not quite sure whats wrong with the fridge. Could be the compressor as well. I told him to forget the whole thing. I bought a new fridge. You can bet it was not a Fisher and Paykel. (Both fridges only ever had light use by the way.) Caveat emptor..
I have had a Fisher Paykel single dish drawer since 2001 and recently replaced it with a newer model. Not because I had to, but because I did a kitchen makeover and the timing was right. In all the years I had my original FP dishwasher, it required service twice and both times service was expedient and at reasonable cost. In my opinion, as a long time user of the product, the value, reliability and performance of the FP dish drawer cant be beat.
The last ones I had were the Whirlpool front loaders. I didn’t like them. I’ll never buy a front loader again. We bought from a little appliance store here in Benton. At first, we bought a Speed Queen and it pumped up the water so fast that my pipes wouldn’t take it and it flooded my laundry room every time I would wash. So I called them back and they said they had one that the pump didn’t pump that hard. And we went and traded. They were brand new. I had it about four days and got these which I love. They work great! The experience with Fisher & Paykel went real well. I love it and have already recommended it. My daughter wants one. She likes the fact that the tub is all sealed up in there. Her husband is in construction and he forgets to get nails and things out of his pockets and it just messes all up down underneath hers. But this one is all sealed so nothing can get down underneath there.
I bought a brand new FP washer and dryer the end of 2006. I paid approximately $1,000.00 each for them, because the salesperson assured me what a wonderful company FP is and how wonderful their products are. Well, what a waste of my hard earned money. I have had the washer fixed 3 times and the pump just went out of it again. I am awaiting the repairman to return with the part to fix it. In the meantime, I am spending at least $40.00 a week at the laundromat. I have had the dryer fixed twice. The last time, it put little holes in my clothes so I lost a ton of money in ruined clothing. I am lucky that there is a repairman in our area who knows what hes doing. However, it is always at least 3 weeks until the repair is completed. First, he has to come out to see whats wrong; then order the part; then come back out to repair it. Now when you figure it out, I am spending at least $120.00 at the laundromat, plus I have the cost of the repairs. This time the repairs will be at least $200.00. During the Christmas season, both Lowes and Home Depot had a washer/dryer pair for around $400.00. Considering the amount of money I already have invested in FP washer/dryer, the extravagant purchase price, the amount of money I have invested for repairs to both units, the amount of money I have invested in the laundromat and the continuous inconvenience, I would be farther ahead to buy a cheap set and replace them every two years. Now I will say that FP reimbursed a portion of the first repair; however, when I advised them of the second repair, they basically said that appliances dont last forever.I cant say that forever is 3 or 4 years. Considering the price of FP, I would expect them to last at least 10 years. I am very disappointed in the FP brand and have to say that I will not consider purchasing that brand again. I have just spent the past hour reading the reviews on this website and it seems to me that FP just produces an inferior product. FP should take action to compensate people and not just tell them that they are sorry to hear of their problems or that their concerns have been forwarded to a senior representative.
My Fisher & Paykel dishwasher is working fine and we have had a good experience with it. We are happy with its performance. We are liking the dishwasher that we got very much. It’s served the purpose that we needed and I would recommend them.
3 pumps in 5 years - We purchased our Fisher & Paykel washer in 2008 at Beesons, Lafayette, IN. They also did the warranty work for us. They replaced the pump while under warranty. A few years ago, my husband replaced the pump himself. Now, my pump is out again; the part is $130. We have decided to not put any more money into this appliance. I plan to go shopping for a new washer and will not be buying a Fisher& Paykel appliance ever again. Im curious. Is this normal for a Fisher & Paykel?
Fisher Paykel phoned me and offered to supply the parts if I pay for the labor. So instead of $377.85 it cost me $93.00 to fix my washing machine. Im happy with the outcome. Hopefully my washing machine will give me another ten years of service. Thank you Fisher Paykel.
Dcs366 Propane Gas 36 range - Range arrived with a faulty broiler ignition. It took almost two months and three service calls to correct the situation. However, the customer service technician and the customer service representative at the dealership were excellent in their response to the situation. Although the problem has been resolved, I remain anxious about the stove making through its warranty period because of this experience...... something I shouldnt have to feel for something in this price range. The other disappointment I have is the design and material used in manufacturing the drip pan beneath the burner grates. They are made of a textured type of metal that encourages brown spots and discoloration that is extremely tedious to maintain. Other than that, the stoves features of low simmer and high BTUs, and accurate oven performance help compensate for one of the above issues.
I previously posted a complaint on January 24, 2012 about my washing machine. After my post, Fisher Paykel contacted me promptly and a repairman came out and repaired my washer, free of charge. I wished I had first contacted the company and given them a chance before posting a complaint. I cant speak for others, but my complaint was handled in a very professional and proficient manner and Im elated to have my washer working again.
We decided to purchase a matching washer and dryer about a month ago. Our previous P&K washer lasted for 15 years! Unfortunately after less than 1 month of operation our dryer quit and we called the repairman and he indicated it needed an update mod done on it. It was showing a 151 fault. We waited about 1.5 weeks for the part to arrive and now today he says that it is the motor and dont know how long it will take to get the part. Plus he indicated that the P&K dryers are on backorder! What has happened to the P&K products which I used to know and love??
I chose Fisher & Paykel because of the drawer dishwasher back then. The model was very good. Its better than others. I particularly like the drawer feature.
I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.
Weve had Fisher & Paykel. We really had bad luck but we love the washer. We got the washer and dryer maybe 60 years ago and we actually had a lot of problems but we love the way that its been so we chose to try it again so hopefully it will be better this time. I really like the other one better. This new one does a whole rinse and spin but it doesnt allow you to just spin. But I would say what I love the most about it is that the way it spins then still dry. Its a nice washer and dryer. But I do wish that you didnt have to do the whole rinse cycle for it to spin.
Would never advise buying F & P anything. Ive had my fridge for 14 months and it stopped working. Gas leaking. They wont replace only repair. Service is diabolically terrible. Never return calls etc. Gave me a interim fridge while mine is repaired. The seal is falling off. It wont close and thus useless. Never had such appalling service from a company ever. Avoid this brand at all costs.
Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is not with getting the appliances serviced. I am fortunate to have a local repair service company that is responsive, trained on these appliances, and does quality work. From the posts I have read, this does not appear to occur often. My issue is with the reliability and quality of the Fisher Paykel products themselves. The washer is model GWL11W and the repair occurred about 12 months ago. As many others have posted, the water pump went out, dripped onto wiring for the computer panel, which in turn caused the computer panel to fail. I was told that this was because of a design flaw and the repair kit incorporated a design change that would prevent the computer panel from shorting out if the water pump should ever go out again. The parts and labor for the repair cost over $400, but given the cost of replacing a high efficiency washer, I decided to go ahead and get it fixed. Granted, the washer was 5 years old at the time, but really, a washer should last longer than 5 years. Now the dryer, model DE08US, needs to be repaired. The timer will not advance in the automatic settings. The sensor bars and sensor board needed to be replaced. This repair, with parts and labor, will come to $387. I have already spent $188 on the prior service call to have the problem diagnosed and have the dryer disassembled, cleaned, and two glides replaced. Given the cost of new dryers, I cannot justify spending what would come to $575 to repair this dryer. The dryer is 6 years old but again a dryer should not cost $575 in parts and labor to maintain within the first 6 years of ownership. At the moment, the dryer is still drying and the timer is still advancing in the timed setting, so I will use it until it stops. Of course, the dryer has now started making an annoying squealing sound, so it will likely stop sooner than later. I should mention that washer and dryer get light usage, 2-4 loads a week, and the loads of laundry are not large or bulky. Even the repair technician commented that both the washer and dryer are well maintained. Yet my Fisher Paykel washer has already cost me hundreds of dollars in parts and repair. If I was willing to invest in repairing the dryer, the same could be said about that appliance. However, that is not going to happen. It was a mistake to spend my hard-earned money on Fisher Paykel appliances and I do not intend to throw good money after bad. When it is time to purchase a new dryer or washer (or any other appliance for that matter), the brand will not be Fisher Paykel. The quality and reliability are disappointing and I wont get fooled again.
This Machine is reliable, but mine tangles sheets, it has good features, but problem when Tangles sheets, has good cycles on water, has extra cycle for really dirty clothes, I have always had this brand of washing machine, only problem I have had in 8 years is to change water hoses at back of machine, I wash daily has been okay for me.
The first time I heard about F&P was when we lived in Charlotte… Guess I heard it advertised. And then the company that we always did business with, Plaza Appliance, were the ones that started carrying them in Charlotte. Actually, our appliance repairman recommended them because he said they’re so easy to fix and dependable and everything and they really did turn out to be true…We had to shop for new appliances because when we moved out of Charlotte the people who bought our house wanted our appliances so we couldn’t take them with us and the first thing we bought from F&P was a washer in 2004 (almost 10 years old). Then in 2008 we purchased a dishwasher. It’s just a little bit different… I got the two-drawer dishwasher and the top drawer is a little deeper. They were equal on the other one we had. But oh, I love the drawers! I heard that they were actually making them for other high-end companies. But I don’t know if they’re still doing it, but when they first came out, I think they premiered the double drawer. Lastly, back in May, we bought a dryer because our old Kenmore after 39 years died. People didn’t think I’d get that out of a Fisher & Paykel, but you never know… I really didn’t consider buying anything else other than F&P since we’ve already had these for such a long time. As far as what I’ve had in the past, we tended to keep things a long, long time until they just died. So we absolutely love the washer and never had a minute’s trouble; the dishwasher was 5 years old and we never had a minute’s trouble. And so, hopefully, it will continue to be that way…
We bought a brand new house with brand new appliances. Since move in, our warming drawer and dishwasher have not worked properly. The dishwasher has always leaked and the warming drawer was actually midwifed AT THE FACTORY. It turned on high and wouldnt turn off. It melted its own thermostat and control knob and was a major fire hazard. We had to turn off the breaker. The parts have since been replaced. The dishwasher is a major leak problem. It is ruining our beautiful new floor. We have had 4 services on it and a replaced part and the bottom drawer still leaks. Despite the fact that it is under manufacturers warranty, the company wont replace it. Save yourself the pain and DO NOT PURCHASE from this company.
My girlfriend’s aunt has a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer she’s had for about 10-11 years if not longer. She said she’s never had a problem with them so I decided to buy a F & S washer and dryer too. So far I haven’t had any issues. I’m happy with them.
My mother had a F&P dishwasher and she loved it very much. Then I had a F&P refrigerator. So when I moved in to my new house that I bought, I decided to go with the Fisher & Paykel again because I really loved that refrigerator. I got the newer model basically the same as the one I had in my apartment.First of all, it’s stainless steel. It’s hard if you have a small kitchen but this one fits perfectly. I love the bottom freezer drawer, and the front of it is so sleek and shiny, very simple. There’s only one thing - it didn’t have the egg carton thing like the little egg rack. And I didn’t want an ice maker so I’m so glad it came without the ice maker. This was the only one that fits the bill. It’s really hard to find nice, counter-depth refrigerator that aren’t humongously wide so it’s absolutely perfect! I love looking at it. I am in love with my refrigerator.
My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.
I went to the appliance store called Melzen’s Appliance at Glastonbury and they informed me about Fisher & Paykel. Never heard of it before. It was one of the most expensive refrigerators I’ve ever bought in my life - it was $1600. I’m married for 35 years and I’ve had refrigerators before this. I was shocked at the price but had to buy it because of the size (it had to fit into a specific area). I also wanted a stainless and a refrigerator on top. It had so many of the things I wanted. It was delivered November of 2012.I love the F&P refrigerator except I do have an issue with it that I did go back to the appliance store to tell them that when I opened up the door, something came flying out of the refrigerator. I told them, “Look at this piece, what do I do.” The guy looked at it and said, “Oh that just goes underneath the door of the refrigerator, just glue it.” I said, “Glue it? You know this refrigerator is only 6 months old - really?” He goes, “Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with your refrigerator right?” I said, “Correct” “So well, just glue it. It’s fine. Because if I send out a repair man, that’s what they’re going to do and they’re gonna charge you.” So I still have the piece here and it doesn’t impede or impact what’s going on with the refrigerator. I haven’t glued it yet because I’m having a hard time thinking that I have to glue this on my new refrigerator.I like the performance. I’m satisfied, though I’m not happy that a piece flew out on me.
If you are buying based on reputation dont bother with Fisher & Paykel! On Jan 18 (2016) I bought a dryer (DE6060G1) and within a week the heat valve had broken. Thankfully 2nds World replaced the machine the next day. 6 weeks later and again, low and behold the same problem occurred. Unfortunately I had to use Fisher & Paykel customer service and what a nightmare! It would have been easier to buy a different brand than put up with the crap they delved out.According F & P as I use the dryer everyday its my fault (and no wonder!) the machine broke down! (that was repeated today when I spoke to the company again). Speaking to the lovely technician this problem is happening again and again with this model. But the company will not replace it with more reliable product (the proceeding one DE45F56) but will continue to send out what appears to be a technically faulty machine. Whats worse is that its going to take two weeks to get the machine repaired. WHY? My advice go for older model or even better go for a different brand all together, its so disappointing!
Have a four year old FP dishwasher that has been nothing but a nightmare. Have had service people out numerous times and still cant fix the problem. Just wondering if Kylie C at FP corporate office is a real person with real solutions to all of the complaints I see listed here. Dont know how they expect to continue to do business with such a substandard product and even less substandard service. Listen to your customers or you wont have any in the future.
I purchased a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, my first F&P purchase. We had a designer help us redo our kitchen. We have a very tiny kitchen. She suggested it as space saving. The traditional one, the big door practically blocked the entire way; the dishwasher was at the end of the counter and when you open the door, there was hardly any room to walk in the kitchen. The drawers of this F&P dishwasher take up less space when you open them up and when you put dishes in, you don’t block the way to the kitchen. It’s very, very good! We especially like the function of it that you can do half a load at a time. We have a little 7 year old who lives with us and our daughter, and with all of us, a lot of dishes go through there and we don’t run out of dishes anymore, because she does little half loads and they’re ready. It’s very convenient and easy. And the quality, the way the dishes come out, they look very clean, very nice. We’re very happy because besides function, the other things with the space saving and ergonomically, the way it can be standing upright and drop things in, it’s just really nice all around! It’s very quiet as well.
My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.
I’m a single guy, live alone, and the Fisher & Paykel washer was easy for me to work and understand. And it does a big load of laundry. I like this one better than other models. It seems to get the clothes cleaner.
I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer. It is 6 years old and 1 year out of extended warranty. I called the local factorys recommended shop on Thursday and Baker Appliance came out the next Monday. He ordered the part for regular delivery. A different repairman returned on Monday, a week later, to replace the electronic control unit. They discovered the wrong part was sent. He said the box had the correct part number on it but the part inside was incorrect. Does this happen a lot?My issue is, he told my wife they would ship the correct part the next day. I called them Tuesday to ask about the part delivery. The girl said she would check and call me back but never did. I left a message on Tuesday night and she called me back Wednesday morning and said she didnt have it yet. I called again and explained what the repairman had said. She asked someone in her office about it. She said they werent told and it would be another $50 for next day shipping. I then gave up.Wouldnt Fisher & Paykel absorb the additional cost if they shipped the wrong part? I spent more than $50 at the laundromat over the last 2 weeks. We have 5 people in our home.
I am expressing my concern and frustration with Fisher Paykel. I lodged call on the 6/3/2017 as my Fisher Paykel washing machine MW513 was leaking. I did a number of tests to see where the water was coming from and it all directed back to the washing machine. When the washing machine was on high (with clothes in it), it would start leaking from the washing to rinse cycle onwards. (this was clarified to Fisher Paykel on my phone call). When they had initially sent someone out here there was a lot of mucking around and the technician was meant to come on Friday 10/3/2017, he ended going to the wrong place and cancelling my job, which then led to a series of mistakes on FP end. This led to a number of phone calls and a lot of time out from work to rectify their mistake. They then had to send a new technician the following week (16/03/2017), whereby my mum was here and explained and showed the technician the photos and his response to her was when we wash the clothes on high place the same amount of clothes to the equivalent amount of water and do the cycle. When he conducted his tests there was no water leaking, as he never tried it with the clothes inside. He then cut the pipe shorter as he advised my mum it was too long. He then left for the next job. I came home and did exactly what he said (also advised in his job summary report to me) and again, the leakage started. I then called FP and advised what occurred and what the tech said to my mum.Over the phone they were going to take over 1.5 weeks to come and service my machine when I also advised that a small tile was starting to lift and causing water damage. The after-hours lady told me to call back the next business day as she couldnt do anything about it but could only book the appointment in. I called back the next day and advised the same thing, to which the gentlemen said he will make this a high priority (again to no avail and to a number of mistakes where they had a dryer to service instead of washing machine). A number of calls later and a different tech guy came out on the 22/3/2017. When he came I was here and advised him all of the above and advised for him to see the photos which he never wanted to and stated he believed me. He ran two water tests on high and no leakage happened (these were fast tracked from filling up the washing machine to the spin cycle, missing the washing rinse part).I did state to him that the leak ONLY happens when the water and clothes are in the machine and set on high. He still never put any clothes in. His advice to me was to wash my clothes on medium or low and the splash backs will not occur. If that was the case what is the relevance of buying a washing machine to only put the machine on medium and low? After he had left I called the customer service line 22/3/2017 (as clearly I was disappointed, stressed and upset), to which the customer service boy was very rude and basically stated that I am lying. The reason being is I advised him what happened and that I had photos of this and his response was anyone can take a photo and pretend their washing machine is leaking. I do not believe this is the way to address someone who is already stressed out that her apartment is going to flood and cause damage to below / surrounding apartments, as well as my own.I was then told by the same person to wash my clothes again and video it. I said I am a woman and I cannot lift the washing machine as it is heavy and you are now asking me to have the same leak occur and for me to clean up the mess yet again? His response was like yeah. What kind of people are they employing and how can they even think of treating their customers like this and getting away with it? I have already taken numerous time of out of work and constantly have to watch the machine when I wash.I didnt buy this washing machine so I can only place it on a certain level. It is under one years old and only until this year March, the problem occurred. There was no other history and when I made these complaints, it was indirectly stated back to me that nothing is wrong and I felt they thought I did know what I was talking about (deeming as I am woman). But, as my mum and my friend had witnessed, the water was coming from the machine. I will not be breaking my back lifting and cleaning again.I also asked a few times if I can get a cash settlement back and to speak to a team leader (none of which was done or considered at the time of the calls). The reason being is so I can buy a more reliable machine and can wash my clothes on high. I have uploaded photos and receipt of when I purchased the washing machine. I would like to be able to either get a reimbursement for the machine or a better quality machine, as I am wasting heaps of money on water bills. This by far, is the worst customer service I have ever received and do not advise anyone to purchase their products.
Reading magazines like Bon Appétit, just going to stores and checking them out… I ended up buying a F&P DSC 305 Dual Fuel several years ago. It’s a a stove range. But then we moved and I wish I had taken it with me. But we moved again and I said, “That’s it, I’m getting another one.” My previous unit was very similar to what I have now. I bought it because of the quality last time and because the stove is a 5-burner and all of the burners, you can slide one from the other. Price was very good and certainly the BTU is where I want it to be, only this time the quality wasn’t as high. The oven wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it because the electric doesn’t get as hot as a gas would have. So it’s an excellent range, but a disappointing electric oven.
I wish I had heard about the Fisher Paykel brand about 6 years ago, and I definitely would have bypassed this brand. I have no problems with the dryer so far, but the washer starts beeping into the wash cycle, and it takes forever (and I mean forever) for the tub to fill (Im talking about all day to finish 2 loads of clothes), because Im constantly having to go and press the machine to start up again. It wont rinse. It only fills, and then drains. It also leaks from time to time. I figure the whole panel is shot, and I dont know what the deal is with the tub filling so slowly, but Im completely fed up with it, and after reading other complaints, I feel misled by this company and doubt Ill even bother to waste money to have it checked out. Both the washer and dryer had light usage (2 to 3 loads per week). I will never buy another washer or dryer with a push button computer panel, nor will it ever be the Fisher Paykel brand. I bought my old Kenmore washer and dryer second-handed, and they were still going after 28 years, when I got rid of them. I wish I had them back (who cares if they werent energy efficient, they worked, which is more than I can say for the overpriced cheap junk imported from overseas these days)! I would gladly pay more money for products made in America that is of good quality!
I have some build issues with the new unit that I put in, the design modifications that makes it less user-friendly, and there are some design feature changes on it which I really don’t care for. The old design was better in terms of its usability... Im an architect and I specify Fisher&Paykel appliances in projects but this was personal residence and I had a Fisher&Paykel and I wanted a Fisher&Paykel again when our old dish drawer was beginning to have some issues after 12 years...
Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when we got home, we called the F&P dealer. They told us it was 2 months out of warranty and we should call any repair service we choose to fix it. Our repairman told us the motherboard had burned out (you could see the soot) from a power surge which could have been prevented by a surge protector. Cost to repair is $448. No one at the appliance store told us we should have a surge protector. There is no information on the refrigerator or on the power cord to recommend one. The installers just plugged it in and that was that. I hold F&P responsible for not letting us know about the need for a surge protector. To make matters worse, the motherboard for our refrigerator is back ordered. We will be without a refrigerator for two or three weeks until it comes in. That seems an unconscionably long time to wait without a refrigerator. Evidently F&P has problems managing their parts inventory and about servicing their customers. After this I called F&P in New Zealand on the advice of the repairman. He thought they might pay for a new mother board. Turns out I should have called an F&P authorized repairman first. No one at the F&P dealer told me that. I had already paid for our repairmans first visit and he took the motherboard with him to see if he could get a temporary fix (he couldnt). So I asked for the phone number of the local F&P authorized dealer so I could explain what had happened. I was told that they wouldnt give me his phone number because of privacy issues. I cant make any sense of that: a refrigerator repairman who wont give out his phone number? What kind of repairman is that? Our cat got sick and will require refrigerated meds for 10 days. Thats a hassle without a refrigerator. But the person I talked to at F&P never acknowledged that the breakdown of their almost new F&P product was making my life difficult or expressed any empathy or sympathy at all. It was like talking to an attorney, not a customer care rep. Maybe thats the way they treat customers in New Zealand, but it sure doesnt go over very well over here.
We had a double drawer dishwasher installed as part of our kitchen refurbishment last May. Within two months, the dishwasher would not drain. Contacted customer service - NOT - and after being on hold for a long time, I was finally told to contact a company called Millers Ltd. UK to arrange an engineer to come and fix the problem. This company sent out one of the rudest young men I have ever encountered and he left the dishwasher un-repaired, so we had to contact the kitchen company to make other arrangements, dishwasher fixed. In February 2015 the tines in the tray of the upper drawer broke. I went online to order a new tray and tines at a total cost of £73.40, I ordered what was in the photo on Fisher & Paykel website. The tray arrived without the tines. After several phone calls and mindless music, I finally managed to convince an assistant called Ula that if she checked her website, she would see what I thought I was ordering and therefore could she send me the tines. This she did and they all snapped while trying to fix them to the tray. We have since managed to do a DIY job on this tray. In March of this year, the upper drawer again would not drain, clean the dishes - so back onto Fisher Paykel and the awful music. Again given a number to contact to arrange an engineer to visit, told the assistant about our previous experience and asked that that company not be used again. A very helpful engineer arrived the next day and instantly knew the problem and replaced the rotor in the upper drawer, he had one on-hand as he had dealt with this problem several times. July, both drawers very noisy, not cleaning dishes and a red light and bleeping from the upper drawer. Contact Fisher & Paykel and again straight onto the awful music, finally get through to Hannah, who cannot find a contact number for my post code. Oops its my fault that she misheard my post code and was looking in the wrong area. I explain as best I can the problem and previous history, she tells me to contact the previous company I used in March. This I do to be informed that they no longer deal with Fisher & Paykel as their machines have multiple problems. Contact Fisher & Paykel and Hannah, again to be given a number which turns out to be Millers UK, a company I will never use or recommend. Try to contact Hannah again but am beaten by the awful music. Instead I am now getting an independent assessment of the machine and will be going back to the kitchen company that recommended the dishwasher and installed it, as to whether or not they will have to replace it with a better-quality machine.
You should have minus stars for F & P.8-month old fridge stopped cooling. Called F & P warranty repair, they sent Integrity Appliance. first call to F & P was 6/26/11, over the next 5 weeks they sent Integrity (usually with a long wait between to repair Fan motor control, then main contorl, then temp sensor, then PC fan. Never worked, although repairman declared it fixed. I requested replacement (5 weeks without a cold fridge in summer) and they made noises each time, but still decided on repair. They also said that since I bought from an open box store, they consider it refurb and would only replace with a refurb (watch out for Weiler Group, too- they dont disclose this at time of purchase). I was promised a call from a supervisor Monday 8/1 regarding replacement, but no one called. When I called today they said that theyve been in touch with Integrity and the repair company has ordered the part and is trying to schedule another repair. Integrity left last Fri after replacing the PC fan and again declared it fixed, although it was melting what little I had in the freezer - liquid popsicles and ice cream, soggy frozen peas. So how Integrity knew to order a part tfor something that was fixed... I also submitted my list of lost food (partial, actually, I got tired of making the list and going to the store to check prices) over $200 worth. I was told by F & P to submit a list with prices, since I didnt have photos - when I came home to fing everything spoiled I didnt think of photos I thought of getting the rotten smell out of the house. As to foday theyre going to investigate my claim - so now they seem to be renegging on that too.Since I was 99.999% sure they wouldnt replace the fridge, I spent more of my own money and bought a Kenmore over the weekend - I need a working fridge, and I have no faith in F & P, a company I found to be unethical and dishonorable. What I want now is 1)Id settle for $800 of the &1600 I spent on the useless box they call a fridge and 2) I want the money for my spoilage.
I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.
I bought this dryer (Dryer model DEIX2 top loading dryer) only 5 years ago. The control panel had been failing but I could reset it by unplugging the unit. I bought an extended warranty (thank God) since I cant get a replacement part. Dryer has been deemed un-repairable. I guess appliances should be considered disposable!
The other day, my husband was doing laundry and part-way through the load, the washer started beeping and stopped working. He then called the customer support center and got the name of the Fisher Paykel dealer here in town to see how much it would cost to get it serviced. While he was on the phone with the customer support rep, he was told that based on the lights that were showing up it was an error code 346, but was not told what that meant. This morning we called to see what it would cost to have someone come out just to look at the washer and were told he would cost $75! I think that is a large fee, considering we live in the same town less than a mile away. Today, I was looking online and read that the warranty was usually around 2 years. Im sure our washer wasnt 2 years old, so I called the customer support number myself, after taking down the model number, to find out if the washer was still under warranty. The guy on the phone was not able to tell me if the washer was under warranty or not. He didnt even offer to take down the serial number to see when the washer was made, but told me to call the store we purchased it from to see if they still have a record of when the purchase was made. We purchased this washer from Sears and shortly after we bought it, they stopped selling this brand. What should we do if they do not have a copy of the receipt? I dont even think our bank records go back any further than a year online. I have searched to see if I could find the transaction, but have not been able to. I would hate to buy a new washer after only owning this one for less than 2 years, and really dont want to pay $75 just to have someone look at it and then pay for repairs on top of it.
We decided to get a new unit of Fisher & Paykel because we’re getting older and have to bend down all the way in to get in the old washer. And it wasnt broke but we went up to Millmans who is the independent distributor. They had one there but they also introduced us to split door and they are the only ones that have a fast wash, its 38 minutes. So we got it and they put it in, 90% of all these... its a very good machine and the people that put them in and represent the product, they knew what they were talking about. I didnt know Fisher & Paykels name simply because theyre a better, higher end and you dont find them in Lowes and other stores. A lot of people just dont know about them but its an excellent product. It does what its supposed to do and does it quietly. Ive had the washer for 2 or 3 years and I use the top drawer 90% of the time. We use the bottom drawer every now and then to make sure it doesnt get clogged up or gets lonesome. And every now and then if you noticed something, you just put it on the normal cycle which is 56 minutes and everything comes out fine. I dont know how you could improve it other than put the dishes away for me once its done. Is there anybody there who can do that for me? For older people and people that just dont wanna mess with stuff, the product is very very good. You hit a home run. I would recommend it to anybody that has electricity in their house because its just good a product. I enjoy Fisher & Paykel products.
I ran into it going online and looking for a counter depth refrigerator and thats when I ran into Fisher & Paykel. I chose them primarily because they were the only one that actually had the depth that I wanted. Other people called em counter depth refrigerators but they really werent. I have the 17 cubic foot refrigerator with the ice drawer at the bottom and two doors at the front. We pretty much like everything about it. My favorite thing about it was that it only sticks out four inches past the counter and it performs as well if not better, I would say. The only problem Ive had is with the sliding drawer. Its come off the track a couple times. The service people have been able to get it back on and I think I know how to do it myself now.
Fisher Paykel washer and dryer. They are from New Zealand I believe. They were fairly low priced for high-efficiency machines and the washer was a top loader AND conserved water (like the front loaders) but for a better cost. The washer drum is floating and is moved with a magnet. No parts rubbing and strap to change. Pretty neat technology. It also has a large capacity allowing bigger loads (and less of them). The dryer is efficient and takes exactly the same amount of time as the washer to wash a load... Perfect timing. The washer has high spin speed which explains why the drying is fairly quick. We have had these machines probably close to 8-10 years now. Brand reputation is important and we are willing to do some research as we did when we bought the Fisher & Paykel machines. We always look for the best value for our money for products that meet our requirements. We are also willing to wait for the sales. The critiques you read from users are very insightful and we can be turned off if several people have issues with something that we know would bother us too. For example, low quality construction, excessive vibration, too much soap residue, too much time to dry, etc. We are very happy with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer we purchased 8-10 years ago. They are high efficiency, large capacity, top loader (washing machine); making them very user friendly and efficient. I have no regrets even though they dont look as cool as the front loaders but on the other side, I probably paid half the price of the good looking ones and I have the same value.
My Fisher & Paykel refrigerator is much better than the other brands that weve had in the past. The only thing they should have pointed out at the time of purchase was that the ice maker is extremely slow. But I’d recommend it to somebody even with the slow ice maker in it.
We bought a brand new Fisher Paykel dryer at Lowes. When we went to hook it up, it did not heat. When we called Fisher Paykel, they said it was no longer under warranty because it was manufactured in 2007. Lowes would not stand behind it either. When I tried to get a service person to look at it, everyone told us they would not work on Fisher Paykel products. Now, I have a brand new dryer that doesnt heat and cannot get repaired. Would never buy an F&P product again and would recommend others to think twice before purchasing one.
The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.
So frustrated with my fridge not working for over a month with multiple calls from the refrigerator repair people. I phoned Fisher Paykel customer service and they have been more than helpful in trying to assist me although the fridge is past warranty. I thank them for their kindness and empathy.
This expensive dishwasher from Fisher & Paykel has ended as junk after only 4 years of light use by two persons. It has been repaired 4 times, and now, it needs to be repaired for $1,000. We now buy Miele. We have skipped this junk machine.
Bought a dishwasher and two weeks in it does not wash. Service came twice. Did not fix problem. These appliances are expensive but they are lemons. Will not recommended this make to anyone. REAL GARBAGE.
Washer eco boost: It gets out of balance all the time. It throws water on the floor. The panel does not work all the time. Now it wont power on. It’s a little over 2 years old. I’m not happy. My hubby is really not happy, especially with a load of wet clothes in the tub. It’s junk!
Bought this dishwasher 3 months ago, beautiful sleek design that has brought me so much grief! 1st dishwasher installer found a huge dent on the front upon removing it from box. Received 2nd one. Im not kidding, huge dent bottom drawer again! Im on my 3rd, no dent but dishes come out dirty, very noisy and top drawer smells after a day! Come on guys you can do better!
My washer is 3 year and 6 months old. The cost was $599 have put $356 into it. Now it wont hold water, floods the room. Called the company in New Zealand. They said they cant judge how I treat the washer. We are retires and there is only the 2 of us. How much can we have? The customer service said it will cost upward of $300 to fix it. When I heard from our local repair man, he said it was the seal and to junk it. It would cost about $80 to repair. A friend who does repairs said it was the seal and maybe the pump but that we should trash it.
Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine cant run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesnt even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.
You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. While a little pricey, they last without any service calls for a very long time and are extremely reliable. The dryer filter is super easy to remove and clean, so it’s no trouble to clean after each load.
Our old refrigerator was not working properly (from the 1970s) so we decided to purchase a new one. Fisher Paykel was the available unit at our local stores that I could bring home right then. I love the energy efficiency. Its wonderful, and I already have recommended it.
FP washing machine is a piece of crap! Only had the machine for approximately 18 months when it started to leak water from the bottom. I tried to contact the company to complain but mysteriously, I was disconnected three times! My husband and I are trying to put two kids through college and honestly, we cant even afford to have a repairman come out to look at it when its $85.00 just for the service call. I am so angry and will never ever purchase a FP product again!
This is a continung saga from my earlier complaint.OK, so I called in the service repair person recommended to my by F&P Customer Service. Now mind you I had absolutely no choice in the matter because, F&P would not allow me to talk to their service personnel unless I was an official appliance repair organization sanctioned by them. The dilemma is as follows: The washing machine was 4 years old and stopped in the middle of a wash cycle. The display panel was dead so I could not read any codes. I Call F&P for advise on how to diagnose the problem. They refused to let me talk to their service personnel. My background is 30 year in computer a EE degree and of those 30 years I spent 4 years fixing large mainframes. So I know a little about electronics, control board, electricity, motors etc. This did not matter to F&P, ok fair enough but why refuse me the option to solve my own problem at my own risk.In addition a new machine would cost me about $550. Now the price tag I was looking at to fix the machine was about $300 to $400 for parts and if you add in a repair person: $100 for diagnosis and then another $250 for labor your talking $700 tops for parts and labor on a machine that lasted only 4 years and cost me approx $500. If I could eliminate the middle man then I could get away with $200 to $300 parts only. Because F&P service would not talk to me I would have to eat the cost for both parts which I speculated could be the problem. They would consider both part and not be restock able. Oh if they had just talked to me.Cutting to the quick the repair person confirmed that the motor control board was bad and, now heres the gem, I also have a burned out pump. To diagnose the pump problem the repair person called F&P service and they instructed him to ohm out the pump. Now I could have done that. So the end result was I was looking at $280 for part and, $250 for labor. On top of that the repair person also offered to buy the machine if I decided to junk it and, buy a new one. So now let me ask you, is there a problem with his scenario. So I called F&P parts and they are shipping me the parts for a grand total of $210 and that includes, shipping. But, there still remains a problem. If I install the part I void the part warranty and if I have the repair person do this then it cost me $250 maybe more because now they loose the part markup. So my position is as follows should I pursue a legal option. F&P recommended the service person I called and had them come is for a cost to me of $100. He diagnosed the problem to be the motor control board and the pump, the latter being assisted by F&P service. If I install both parts, pump then motor control, dont want the pump blowing the motor control again and, the machine does not work, I will conclude the repair person did not meet their obligation and, either I will request a refund for poor service (i.e. I will chase them down using the AGs office first then, take them to small claims) or ask them to further diagnose the issue at no charge. Count on it I will be there when they come in. I know my way around electronics. As for F&P they need to think further about how to deal with product repair. Their customers are being fleeced and F&P is complicate. Now heres a bonus. The repair man told me that the reason the pump went bad, which burned out my motor control board, hmmmm, was because, I used liquid detergent. Yes folks take a look at your grocers shelves and tell me what sort of detergent is being promoted? Thats right, liquid. Appears that liquid detergent breaks down the motor seals. The repair person recommended we use powder. My wife had to search hard to find a powdered detergent. So folk your washer is doomed from day one. Now I dont make these machines but I was wondering if there could be a class action suit in here.Oh and by the way those dryer sheets you put in to make your clothes smell good. Well they can coat your dryer and start a fire and if you have small children well those same sheets will remove the fire retardant material from their clothes.
Bought my Fisher Paykel through Lowes without seeing it and am very happy with features. Well organized and holds more than my same size Whirlpool. Can I get a discount on gas stove and dishwasher from Fisher Paykel?
I bought this washer (Fisher & Paykel Washing Machine) as a highly recommended low maintenance machine. At the least, I am dissatisfied; at the most, angry. I am retired and live on a fixed income. I did research myself as to possible causes of the constant drip of 6 inches of hot water into the tub and the low level screeching of the tub as it spins. As for repair, I was only able to find one resource for a possible part that caused the dripping. When I called, I was treated rudely and they refused to help me and stated Id have to pay a large fee just to have it diagnosed. So, I asked what the charge would be if it was found to need a hot water valve leaking and if the screeching was a bad bearing. I was told the bearings never go bad and that I didnt know anything. Then, the woman from the shop hung up! I love being treated badly! Your customer service is nasty and non-existent!
Its quiet, it cleans the dishes, it does its job. Its lost its WOW factor on looks. The New Dish Drawer is plain, boring, no style, no elegance, not like my previous Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer.
Bought this Fisher and Paykel fridge six years ago, keeps making a beeping noise, had a technician look at it, he said would cost too much to fix the circuit board. Rang Fisher and Paykel and they said it is out of warranty. Product should last longer than this. Will not buy this brand again.
Two of the igniters on my 9 yr old range stopped working. I tried to get the igniters repaired by two different appliance repair companies that Fisher Paykel recommended ($300.00 expense) both telling me the same thing - the unit was unable to be repaired due to a design flaw. I call Fisher Paykel and asked for assistance and was told since it was 9 yrs old they werent going to do anything. So my $10,000 range is now a good looking piece of junk! I would never purchase anything from this company!!!!
I needed a new washer and went to Tracys Appliance in Lima. Im only 4 foot 7 inches so many of the washers were too big for me. The salesman was showing me around and showed me the Fisher & Paykel and talked to me about it. I was able to reach to the bottom of the washer. I said Id take it and they delivered the next day. Im very happy with my washer and dryer. This is far superior than others Ive had. It does an excellent job! I almost look forward to doing the laundry. Im very pleased with it and how it does my laundry.
So I've read a lot of negative reviews about FP. I have been using it since a 6000 sqft project build I did almost 10 years ago using a dual drawer dishwasher. THIS IS THE ONLY DISHWASHER I'LL EVER BUY. A 2 drawer dishwasher is very civilized... 2 completely independent running drawers that clean very well. Next renovation in a $2M condo I put in same dishwasher and a FP Washer and Ventless Dryer. I could not be happier. Never any service problems, cosmetically beautiful, and nice ergonomics. Don't overload it.
The motherboard on the less than 1 year old Fisher & Paykel dryer went out and someone is lying. I called F & Ps 888 number and was told they have the parts but I have to go through the retailer where I purchased the dryer. Sounded fishy since the retailer told me that the motherboards are on back order. F & P wont send me a new part. I called the retailer back and was told the F & P wont release the part until Feb. 20th. Thats CRAP. I dont want to wait 3 more weeks till the parts come in. The retailer told me he has several other customers waiting. How many people are waiting on this part and how many parts are going to be released on Feb. 20th. The closest laundromat is 6 miles away.
I have purchased 30,000 dollars of there appliances and they are all in the garbage after 6 years and I have called over 50 times in the last 6 months about my dishwasher and they tell me a regional manager will email me back or call in which the have not.. Finally they gave me an offer to buy a new one at 20 dollars off. They must be kidding so theres nothing they can do for me. They said take it or leave it so Im begging people not to buy their products because they wont help you when they break. Im trying to save you a headache.
Had my washing machine about 18 months, when the drain pump went, then about 4 weeks later the circuit board went down. What gets me angry is that each part takes over a week to get repaired to the machine, as they have to order the part. I find this outrageous that it takes that long. You can only contact Fisher Paykel on the 1300 number in NZ, and theyre not worried that you are without your appliance for however long, as the parts come from their Queensland depot, and they dont do overnight express. So I asked why they didnt have a service center with their parts here in WA, and every Capital City, but they said its not necessary to do that. What a lot of bull. Their customer service is disgusting. Washing machines are very needy when you have kids. Waiting for over a week to get any appliance fixed in this day and age is bad management, and they need to look at ways to provide quicker and better service to the consumers that buy their products that keeps them in jobs. This will be the last Fisher Paykel appliance I ever buy - never again!
We spent 3 times as much for a trendy looking SS Double drawer dishwasher. We had the service people out 3 times the first year. He spent hours at a time on the phone to Tech support in New Zealand. Never got the bottom drawer from leaking. Subsequently it would trip a wet switch and would not restart until it completely dried internally. Finally Fisher Paykel offered a brand new later improved model. The catch was we had to pay freight since local distributor quit handling the brand. This cost $395.00 for shipping. Or as much as a mid range Whirlpool. It malfunctioned within 2 years. Local service tech got Fisher Paykel Tech support on the phone. Diagnosed as bad hot plate. Spent $200.00 to put new on in.Didnt fix problem. Further inspection showed it was a burned main circuit board. And now a burned wiring harness. I spoke to customer care about my issues. They have said document and possibly theyll do something? That is still uncertain. Ill repost if something positive comes out.
