Purchased this dryer ($649) in March 2018. The circuit board crashed within the first month. 9 months later I had to have it repaired because small pieces of laundry & the dryer sheet kept getting caught inside the drum, which resulted in tightly twisted clothing stuck to the inside of the drum. I am now awaiting my second circuit board as the dryer malfunctioned again. I had to open the door to the dryer to get it to stop running because none of the controls would work. This is clearly a fire hazard! The appliance store has been great about dealing with these issues but with 3 repairs in less than 19 months, I will never again buy this brand!

Looks great - love the look in the kitchen. Washes the dishes ok but have to make sure nothing blocks the washing arm which is sometimes hard to know until you open the door at the end of the cycle. Biggest complaint is that the machine is SO loud. I am so disappointed that I purchased the unit and would love to replace with a quieter model.

Have a four year old FP dishwasher that has been nothing but a nightmare. Have had service people out numerous times and still cant fix the problem. Just wondering if Kylie C at FP corporate office is a real person with real solutions to all of the complaints I see listed here. Dont know how they expect to continue to do business with such a substandard product and even less substandard service. Listen to your customers or you wont have any in the future.

Fisher-Paykel has apparently spent the majority of their resources on engineers that design a product to last no more than 2 years. I purchased a VERY expensive Fisher-Paykel refrigerator, model number RF175WDRUX1 from Lowes in Lake Worth, Texas on January 17, 2013. In late November of 2014 the fridge stopped working. After reviewing the paperwork, I discovered that Fisher-Paykel offered a 5 year limited warranty.Called Lowes, they put me in contact with a repair facility, called Fisher-Paykel (super nice folks on the phone, but all good con-artists need a good front operation). It is now 6 weeks since my service call: Parts are still on backorder. THIS IS A SCAM MANUFACTURER. There is no excuse for a 6-week backorder in a day when I can order anything from China and have it on my doorstep within 3 days.As I write this, Lowes has me on permanent hold. So, my advice: DO NOT BUY FROM LOWES AND DO NOT BUY FISHER-PAYKEL PRODUCTS. The sad part is that no matter how nice or patient you are, you will not get any traction with Lowes or Fisher-Paykel unless and until you are prepared to file a Deceptive Trade Practices lawsuit.Fisher-Paykel is an insult to New Zealanders...they make products engineered to fail and engage in ongoing deceit on U.S. Consumers. Classic Deceptive Trade Practices by Fisher-Paykel. Texas consumers should avoid their products.

First washer purchased in 2001 had problem going from wash cycle to rinse in 2006. We tried contacting Fisher & Paykel and got no response, no support, and no help! We replaced a diverter valve, and then a circuit board, only to have wasted our money. We wrote a formal letter to F & P Customer Care USA (Irvine, CA) on Sept 21, 2007 letting F & P know that the diverter valve and circuit board only lasted 9 months before it repeated. No response was ever received from F & P Customer Care USA. That pretty sums up the amount of support/customer care you will receive. We liked the technology; and despite the lack of support, customer service, or response, we bought a GW12 and disposed of our six-year-old GWll. No problem with our GW12 from 2007 until 2013. Now, our GW12 is having the same problem! It appears that both of our Fisher & Paykel washers only have a six-year life cycle. I will write another formal letter to Fisher & Paykel Customer Care USA, but I do not expect I will ever hear from Fisher & Paykel. From my perspective, Fisher & Paykel washers have a planned obsolescence of six years, and clearly they lack an infrastructure for support or customer service in the USA. I would recommend that you only buy their products if you like changing your major appliances out frequently. If you do purchase Fisher & Paykel products in the USA, then expect to be on your own with no support or any customer service. One last item, the letters to FP Consumer Customer Care USA contained two emails for response and one mobile phone number. It is on 24/7, 365 days a year!

We built a new house and purchased all new appliances Feb 2007. New fisher paykel washer GLW15 - loved it at first. Their repair service is done by Howie **. I had them repair the Uline wine cooler and after a year of them ordering parts and trying this and that, I would not have them come back to my house for the washer. I used a respected appliance repair person used for years on my apt building. June 2009 replaced drain pump, August 2010 replaced drain pump. February 2011 replaced drain pump, June 21, 2011 drain pump is fine, circuit board is shot. One on order - it is now August 17 - still no circuit board and no idea when it is coming. I have no had to pay for laundry to be done for 8 weeks.

We bought our fridge, brand new in Sep 2011. After 3 years of use, our Fisher & Paykel E240BR fridge has broken down, 3 times in the last 3 months. July 2014 - Fridge was freezing everything, but the freezer was working fine. Called the F&P repair service and they couldnt come for 8 days. When they eventually came, the repairman fixed the thermostat and said it should be good. 30 August 2014 - Fridge & freezer stopped cooling, although motor was running. Everything in the fridge was warm and spoiled. Again F&P repair service couldnt come for a week. In the meantime we had no fridge and had to throw out over $200 worth of food from fridge and freezer.By the time the repairman came, fridge had started working again. He said there was nothing he could do until it broke down. 28 September 2014 (TODAY) - Again fridge and freezer have stopped working. Did not notice until tonight and again everything in the fridge is warm. When we rang the F&P call centre, they cannot come until Tuesday. Ridiculous. Call centre person was extremely rude and tried to say they had fixed it. Um if you had fixed it then why is it warm and stopped working again. Needless to say I am going to buy a new fridge tomorrow. Broken down 3 times in the last 3 months and its only 3 years old. Very unreliable, poorly made product. Will not be buying another F&P in the future.

For 3 months I have been trying to buy a replacement water filter for my fisher & paykel fridge freezer - on line it tells me they are out of stock and to phone. On the phone I get confirmation that they are out of stock and given no confirmed date of availability. I am told to order and I will be emailed when they arrive - but remember they cannot tell me when that will be. Today I have ordered 2 at the whopping cost of £98 but have been warned that there are many orders ahead of mine as there is a huge demand for them and so I will have to wait my turn. The filter is an integral part of the function of my particular machine - so why is it impossible to pick up the phone or go online and order a filter and get one immediately? How hard can it be to stock enough to meet demand? We are talking about a simple water filter here - nothing more but for reasons best known to themselves - they will not maintain a sufficient quantity for its customers. Do I smell a rat here? Is there an agenda I wonder? Hundreds of customers are having to pay in advance for their expensive water filters to ensure that they receive them in the designated time stipulated by Fisher & Paykel. Frankly had I known I would not have bought from this company and certainly will not again.

My granddaughter was getting married and moving into a home and needed a lot of help with outfitting it so I gave her my old washer and dryer. So then I went out to an appliance store looking for a new washer and dryer and found out about Fisher & Paykel. I had good recommendation from the owner who told me that’s what he had at his house so I chose to buy this brand and I’ve been very satisfied with my first F&P washer and dryer. Really, there are some things that are much better than the previous ones we’ve owned - I think that they spin water out more and the clothes are dryer when you take them out of the washer to put them in the dryer. They don’t have as much water in them so less dry time.

Purchased a Fisher Paykel dryer in Feb 2013. Six months ago we started getting grease marks on our clothes. I contacted Fisher Paykel and after MANY calls (when they did return my calls), they concluded that I needed to turn the reversible drum off as that was causing issues on these units. I did so, and continued to have the same issues. After going back and forth, Fisher Paykel said there was nothing more they could do. They didnt even send out one of their techs to look at it. So, $700 later and using the dryer for 2 1/2 years, Im out! I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM FISHER PAYKEL AGAIN!! SHAME ON YOU!!

Reading magazines like Bon Appétit, just going to stores and checking them out… I ended up buying a F&P DSC 305 Dual Fuel several years ago. It’s a a stove range. But then we moved and I wish I had taken it with me. But we moved again and I said, “That’s it, I’m getting another one.” My previous unit was very similar to what I have now. I bought it because of the quality last time and because the stove is a 5-burner and all of the burners, you can slide one from the other. Price was very good and certainly the BTU is where I want it to be, only this time the quality wasn’t as high. The oven wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it because the electric doesn’t get as hot as a gas would have. So it’s an excellent range, but a disappointing electric oven.

My Fisher & Paykel GWL11 Washer quit working a week ago. The repairman has been here twice, once to diagnose and then again to install valve and pump. The washer still does not work; the spin cycle will not work. He will come out here again to see if the problem is with the board. Based on what I am reading in this forum, perhaps I should cut my losses and go buy a new washer. I wish I had my old dependable Maytag. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to buy another washer.

We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer in May last year. After 6 months we realized that washer never used hot water. It was washing the clothes always in cold water. When contacting the company they referred us to a local repair company. The technician came in today and diagnosed that the problem was with electronic module and electronic water valves. It will take 4-12 weeks for the parts to arrive. Are they using the boat to ship the parts from China? Perhaps someone should whisper to Fisher & Paykel: Federal Express. They need to improve the quality of their products. I will stay away from any Fisher & Paykel products.

My F & P dual drawer dishwasher never seems to clean well. The area under the filter/screen is always full of water and F & P says thats normal. The screen itself needs to be rinsed every several of loads as grease seems to build up on the inside. I run DW cleaner every dozen loads or so and it doesnt seem to help. I am very dissatisfied with this product. I got it so my disabled son can easily reach into the top drawer for loading and unloading and it works well for this purpose but its hardly worth it if the dishes have to be washed by hand after theyve been run through the machine.

The salesman was knowledgeable about the product and sold us on the manufacturer. We have been happy with the product until recently. I am still uncertain as to what is wrong with my machine, only knowing that it no longer drains the water. I have contacted FisherPaykel twice - once to see if it is covered by a warranty and second to find a service company. I still have a washer that does not work, and the company they referred will not service the washer unless it was purchased from them. I am very disappointed in this product and the service.

To be sure that we weren’t adding too much bleach, we have only filled the bleach dispenser half full and diluted it with water to the fill mark. We are about to throw this washer out and get a different one. Another thing we don’t like is that you can’t fill the tub with enough water to just soak things.

Buyer beware. What a lemon. Or do they sell orchards full of lemons? I have had nothing but trouble from my Fisher Paykel fridge. No help from customer care. An automated machine would be more sympathetic. In July 2010, fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes to crimp brackets. Cost is $121. In February 2011. The fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes. Fan wire had separated and detached due to ice building up. Cost is $125. In November 2011, the fridge overheated. The technician came and the fridge was sent away for two weeks. I had new refrigeration unit put in and only three months later, in February 2012, the fridge overheated. The technician came and replaced fan. Cost is $125. I did ask for a different technician and was told I had to wait three weeks. How can anyone go without a fridge for three weeks? Please do yourself a favor, dont buy Fisher Paykel.

After having issues with my dryer and then my washer, Lisette of Fisher Paykel has been very helpful. When the bearings on my dryer needed to be replaced, the company paid over half the cost. I have a number of friends who had had Fisher Paykel in kitchen remodels. I heard good and bad, and my designer recommended it once we got started with the kitchen. He said Fisher Paykel made all the dishwasher drawers for everybody else. So we might as well go with the one who makes the most of them. I have a full-sized dishwasher to handle everyday other things but I wanted something just for little things throughout the day that build up in the sink. When I saw them, I was very impressed and I was extremely pleased with it. I like that it holds everything and its easy to operate. This was my first purchase of a Fisher Paykel. I had problems with it in the beginning. I dont know whether it was related to the person who installed it or the way that it was installed. Every time I went to use it for the first two weeks, I got an error message. We finally figured out that it was pushed too far back in the cabinet and it was pushing into the waterline every time that happened so it was causing the error message to tell me that it wasnt connected. But I like it now a lot.

We purchased this fridge about six months ago and we are extremely disappointed with the quality on this product. The Stainless steel is so thin on it that when you actually close the door by hand if you dont use the handles if your ring or anything touches it it scratches and puts a dent in it right away. Stay far from this product and if youre in Canada stay away from Trail appliances in Edmonds Fine Appliances. They said all this is normal. If you have kids definitely stay away from this. This is not the the same Fisher Paykel that was an Australian company, it now owned by Haier Group out of China. Quality is the worst ever.

I discovered this appliance manufacturer on a public little forum online called Garden Web, which is for home improvement and stuff like that. We were looking for a counter-depth refrigerator and that reduces the number of things we can buy. And then, once we did that, we really didn’t want to lose space by having that entire icemaker on the door. And we didn’t want a water dispenser because we’ve got young kids. So this was the product which had the features that we were looking for - it did not have the icemaker in the door (it was inside the freezer section) and it doesn’t have the water dispenser. It’s our first appliance from F&P and we’re happy with it. A lot of people have mixed reviews and stuff like that, but so far so good. It’s a very good product and it looks nice too. I would recommend to others. I hope it doesn’t break.

I would never recommend their high-end dishwashers. They only work on the heavy energy cycle and something is messed up with our computer. It cleans sometimes and not on other times. For two years wed had an authorized service provider come look at it, but Fisher & Paykel doesnt believe us. They said they called the provider and that we have only had it looked at once. I was told in the store that the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator was a very quiet model, but its not. Its noisy and I did have to call them because since I got it, I cant sleep at night. Its cycling continually and extremely loud, like a jet taking off. The technician came out and said that I didnt have much in my freezer and suggested putting in jugs of water. But since then, I do have a roommate who uses the freezer and its a bit quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it would be. I had been concerned that my old ref was not energy efficient and thats why I got rid of it and got this one and it seems to be functioning okay, but I dont know how much energy its saving me. I am disappointed with the noise and I check back at the store and they said well, the new appliances do cycle on and are sensitive to drops in temperature. So it could be I didnt get complete information and didnt research this completely as I needed to. Im happy that its got a modern design and I like the size. Very disappointed in the top load dryer. My in-laws moved in with their dryer. This dryer has had service repairs two times in the first year they owned it. Now we are using it as well and the one-year warranty is up. They told us that the last time a service man came out, he showed them where the reset switch is. Apparently, every so often, the heat stops working, and the reset switch has to be reset. So it has been two months now, and I have had to reset the switch three times. This is just a ridiculously faulty product, and Im truly concerned; there is a fire hazard with some sort of electrical issue with this dryer. I am getting rid of it ASAP and going back to Maytag, which I might add, I had a Maytag washer for 10 years and a Maytag dryer for 15 years and never once had a repair to them. Now that is true quality.

I am very happy with my new dishwasher! The drawers are so much easier to use than the pull out racks on my old one. The wheels were always popping off or coming off the track. No problems now! The bottom drawer is perfect for smaller loads. No more waiting for more dirty dishes to make a load. Its quiet and has a setting for fast for a quick run. I love it!

Weve had our washer and dryer for 4 1/2 years and had to call the repairman twice. I have to constantly reset our overheat button at least 1-2 times every week! This is unacceptable. Its loud and does a horrible job collecting lint. I have to vacuum it out weekly as it doesnt really collect like it should. We have to buy a new machine because the cost to call a repairman out plus a possible part is not worth investing in this piece of junk.

I wanted to take the bins out of my freezer to clean them and get rid of some ice buildup and I can see no way to get them out. Theres no instructions in the users manual and customer service was unable to tell me how so they emailed me a video that was supposed to show me how to do it but the video was 6 years old and the freezer compartment didnt look anything like what I have now. Weve only had ours about a year-and-a-half and it is still under warranty. I emailed them back to let them know and they never responded to my email, and I even sent pictures of what mine looks like, so I called again and I was told that I would have to have a service rep come out to remove the bins and if he found there was no manufacturer defect they would charge me $95!!Yet they are not able to provide me with any instructions on how to do it myself!!! This refrigerator cost way too much have people answering the phone that cant help with something that should be a simple process... And maybe the bins dont come out at all but if they dont they should be able to at least tell me that instead of telling me they have to send out a service rep.

I ran into it going online and looking for a counter depth refrigerator and thats when I ran into Fisher & Paykel. I chose them primarily because they were the only one that actually had the depth that I wanted. Other people called em counter depth refrigerators but they really werent. I have the 17 cubic foot refrigerator with the ice drawer at the bottom and two doors at the front. We pretty much like everything about it. My favorite thing about it was that it only sticks out four inches past the counter and it performs as well if not better, I would say. The only problem Ive had is with the sliding drawer. Its come off the track a couple times. The service people have been able to get it back on and I think I know how to do it myself now.

I bought a brand new FP washer and dryer the end of 2006. I paid approximately $1,000.00 each for them, because the salesperson assured me what a wonderful company FP is and how wonderful their products are. Well, what a waste of my hard earned money. I have had the washer fixed 3 times and the pump just went out of it again. I am awaiting the repairman to return with the part to fix it. In the meantime, I am spending at least $40.00 a week at the laundromat. I have had the dryer fixed twice. The last time, it put little holes in my clothes so I lost a ton of money in ruined clothing. I am lucky that there is a repairman in our area who knows what hes doing. However, it is always at least 3 weeks until the repair is completed. First, he has to come out to see whats wrong; then order the part; then come back out to repair it. Now when you figure it out, I am spending at least $120.00 at the laundromat, plus I have the cost of the repairs. This time the repairs will be at least $200.00. During the Christmas season, both Lowes and Home Depot had a washer/dryer pair for around $400.00. Considering the amount of money I already have invested in FP washer/dryer, the extravagant purchase price, the amount of money I have invested for repairs to both units, the amount of money I have invested in the laundromat and the continuous inconvenience, I would be farther ahead to buy a cheap set and replace them every two years. Now I will say that FP reimbursed a portion of the first repair; however, when I advised them of the second repair, they basically said that appliances dont last forever.I cant say that forever is 3 or 4 years. Considering the price of FP, I would expect them to last at least 10 years. I am very disappointed in the FP brand and have to say that I will not consider purchasing that brand again. I have just spent the past hour reading the reviews on this website and it seems to me that FP just produces an inferior product. FP should take action to compensate people and not just tell them that they are sorry to hear of their problems or that their concerns have been forwarded to a senior representative.

No contact with Fisher and Paykel happens without our initiating it. When our dishwasher broke, to book the service visit online we had to allow a 6 hour window for him/her to arrive. When he did come and determined what was needed i.e. parts and a second visit at no time did F&P update us. So after 2 weeks we made contact again and since then it has been impossible to get through. I cannot contact the service person directly, have to go through the customer service who do not answer the phone, cut you off and just respond to computer prompts. All they can do is rebook visits. The dishwasher is less than a year old and needs a new motor. We are not heavy users of it. I wish we could use the local service people and not have to rely on F and P ever again. They cannot cope.

I am seeing a recurring theme about the drain pump failures. In my case, the drain pump has now failed 2 times on my GWL11US washer. The first one was leaking all over the floor. After purchasing the second, it was better but still, the floor would get wet under the washer. Not to mention, it took about a month to get a replacement (backorder). I purchased a plastic pan to place under the washer to keep this appliance from ruining my floor. The other day, the windings on the pump motor shorted out, stunk up the whole house and the motor control board just shut down in the middle of the wash.In my opinion, both of these F&P appliances are the poorest excuse for a washer/dryer I have ever seen. The plastic lid on the washer has cracked and the overlays for the operational buttons (keyboard) have many cracks around them also. Had the design engineers put some thought into the control board, they could have planned in some short circuit protection for the control module, so it could survive a shorted load of the pump motor. Or was it planned that way to make more money? This is the first and last F&P product I will ever buy.

Fisher Paykel DCS Counter Depth Refrigerator - I am absolutely BEYOND frustrated with this brand! Since last October I have had no less than eight, EIGHT, service calls to sort out why my ice maker drops ice cubes into the receptacle below that are freeze together. The ice that comes out of the cube tray is not frozen fully...therefore it becomes a big lump in my freezer. In order to get ice, we have to stab at it with a big knife. NOT SAFE to say the least. I have had two repair companies come to the house. Theyve called FP techs while at my house to go over the issue. The techs advice this last time was to adjust the temperature. (Or to tell me I dont close the freezer door...sorry on that one...it ain’t the problem or I would have had this issue all along.) I also dont overload my refrigerator or freezer door. Its not my first rodeo with an upscale appliance. If I could, I would dump this lemon on the sidewalk. But since my fridge surround was built for it...I am stuck. I have held back my comments for months, but as of yesterday, I am not doing that any longer. I have listened in to the FP Tech calls to the repairman. The first tech was so incredibly rude and insulting I wanted to take the phone from the poor repair guy and give him a piece of my mind. The second tech said, “Oh, just adjust the temp to a warmer temp,” Really? (Why is he a tech?) Did he not understand that the ice is NOT FROZEN all the way when it drops into the bin? The icemaker was replaced fully several visits ago...its something else and frankly, I dont believe for a quick second that its something the tech guys has never heard of before. Im not a repairman, I am a consumer. A very smart consumer that knows the buck is being passed. I paid $600 for an extended warranty on this unit. I expect the darn thing to work properly. If it cannot be repaired the FP needs to come forward and deliver a new one to me. I will simply not buy, nor ever recommend, this brand again. I would be disingenuous. If no one can repair it, not even the trained FP guys with the tech on the phone...I have no faith. Zero. So sad.

Well, our washing machine stopped working the other day. It would fill up with water, try to swish back and forth, but seemed very slow and almost stuck. By the time I got home, the water smelled funny from the wash. I tried to cycle it to the rinse and spin cycle to get the smelly water out at least, with no avail. I unplugged it, hoping it would reset. It would then start the wash cycle again, and it would chug a little then just hum, then stop and make an alarm - beeeeeep, beeep (like a fire alarm). So I emptied out the yucky water, and took out the clothes hoping maybe something was catching in it and it would start again. Chugged a little faster, but still stopped and wouldnt spin or drain. Emptied water again.Ok, Im tempted to take it apart but realized maybe it would void the warranty, so decided to google it and it directed me to this site. Boy was I in for a surprise. Based on the comments and reviews, I immediately thought of getting a new machine that was not Fisher Paykel. These units were bought for us in a new home in 2008 from the contractor, so I wasnt sure if my warranty was still good or not. To my surprise, I called the toll free number on this site, and immediately got a representative that deals directly with problems. No wait time. Lisa was very informative, patient, and understanding of the issue. We went through the flow sheet together to try and diagnose the issue. Still no resolution. She offered to send out a Fisher tech at a rate of $85.00 for the consultation and whatever time it would take them to fix it. She guessed maybe only 30 minutes.Lisa offered to supply the parts free of charge, although I might have been out of warranty. Parts could have ranged up to $350. I weighed out the cost versus buying a new unit, and I realize I still would be coming out ahead with the tech. Plus he would be there the next day. Tech showed up early at 9:30am and diagnosed that mattress pad material that we laundered and got stuck in the motor mechanism. Replace motor mechanism as a precaution but would have worked otherwise. Funny thing, I almost suspected that because after I removed the dirty stinky water, it smelled liked something was burnt due to being stuck. But once again, Im just a doctor and no handyman at all, but I still try to do things myself when I can. I always research first, then do.My experience with the company is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Lisa gets 5 stars, the 0.5 stars less was because the tech was there for only 10 minutes top and charged us $65 still? So I wasnt sure about that, but I wasnt home, and my wife didnt know what to expect. I would have challenged his rate, to see if he prorates it or not, but maybe they bill by the hour regardless. I wished he changed my control panel and water pump as a precaution because this seemed to be a known problem, but I wasnt there to ask him. Why? Because if that fails soon, then I will have to pay the service call again along with his time. I hope this doesnt happen, because I might not be so understanding after that. So my bills $150.00. Im very satisfied with how this went down. My machine works, but Im still cautiously optimistic about the longevity of this product. However, I do feel Fisher and Lisa will take care of me if future problems arise. Thanks Lisa, and good luck everyone!

We bought a dual drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2009 for a house that we were building. Due to problems with the builder, the dishwasher sat unpacked in a garage for a year. When it was finally installed, it didnt work! First, the bottom drawer didnt drain. We called a plumber to come look at it. He called the Fisher & Paykel appliance rep. They recommended that we install two separate drain lines. It still didnt drain. The appliance guy and plumber each came out again and we even tried a different plumber. Now the bottom drawer drains but the top one doesnt, which completely defeats the purpose of having a dual drawer dishwasher. We contacted Fisher and Paykel and Lowes where we purchased the appliance and neither would offer any assistance as the warranty had expired. We have only used the machine 20 times. Its such a shame and waste. Our KitchenAid dual drawer dishwasher at our old home worked much better with no problems. We had bought this one because we were told it was quieter. You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. Our dishwasher was installed during a remodel by the appliance company in August 2021. The top drawer immediately had issues getting stuck on a code during every wash, beeping and stopping the cycle. We had the appliance service come out 4 times with no resolution. Fisher Paykel declined to replace the product stating it was an installation error. The appliance company has come out twice more with no resolution. We have been making due, being patient, because the bottom drawer which is smaller, had been working. Today the bottom drawer malfunctioned, in order to stop the beeping we had to turn off the electricity to the dishwasher. We have spoken to Fisher Paykel on two occasions asking for replacement, the appliance company has taken pictures to indicate this is not a installation issue. It has been a fight to prove this is a faulty product. This is a Fisher Paykel appliance and I would expect them to address the issue. It is now the end of January and we have yet to have a functioning product.

We have had the washer dryer set about 4 years. A year ago the alleged timer switch went out. We called Fisher Paykel. And again, they want me to pay for someone to come out and inspect and let them know if the switch is faulty. Really? Just like the other complaints, I really don’t think having the same issue and having to wait several weeks for repair is reasonable, nor is it reasonable to have to pay for the service call out of pocket and now having to take off work for the same issue they fixed a year ago.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, my first F&P purchase. We had a designer help us redo our kitchen. We have a very tiny kitchen. She suggested it as space saving. The traditional one, the big door practically blocked the entire way; the dishwasher was at the end of the counter and when you open the door, there was hardly any room to walk in the kitchen. The drawers of this F&P dishwasher take up less space when you open them up and when you put dishes in, you don’t block the way to the kitchen. It’s very, very good! We especially like the function of it that you can do half a load at a time. We have a little 7 year old who lives with us and our daughter, and with all of us, a lot of dishes go through there and we don’t run out of dishes anymore, because she does little half loads and they’re ready. It’s very convenient and easy. And the quality, the way the dishes come out, they look very clean, very nice. We’re very happy because besides function, the other things with the space saving and ergonomically, the way it can be standing upright and drop things in, it’s just really nice all around! It’s very quiet as well.

The following year both again needed service, the motor in the washer and the board on the dryer. $600 in repairs. Neither under warranty. I spoke with F&P and they wouldnt assist on the repair. On year three, the dryer went out again. I spoke to F&P and they told me to get a repair estimate and they would aid in the repair. The repairman, the only F&P rep in town, told me the units were junk even though they were on their high end. I called back to F&P with the estimate, $250 + $80 diagnostics, and was told, you have lemons. That is the nature of the world we live in. Too bad. I trashed the 3 year old units and replaced with something else. Avoid this company. The units are flimsy to say the least.

Just a follow-up to my July 17, 2011 post. I contacted the USA representative and I was very pleased. She arranged a repair at no cost. This was not easy as the company listed was no longer servicing my area, but she was successful. She sent two parts (computer and pump) and the technician just replaced these and all seems on for now. Best part of the story - no cost although the machine is 3.5 years old. Must tip my hat at the FP and the customer service. Thanks to CA for being there, as I feel this blog/posting was influential in getting my problem resolved. Also, the USA representative was accessible, polite, and true to her word.

I got a washer and dryer by Fisher & Paykel. I went to Fletcher’s Appliance here in Nashua and I have a good friend. He was a repairman there for the company. And one day, we were looking at different things and I asked him what he thought. He told me Fisher & Paykel is one of the best. He says they have no transmission and explained different things about the machine. He also said that a nursing home had one for 13 years and they just finally got it repaired. And I liked the features of it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the dryer door. The way it opens. I think it’s kind of old-fashioned. The newer ones fold down so that you can use the door if you need to set a pair of socks or something on it. I’m partially handicapped so I sit on a chair to do the laundry. I was hoping to go on and put my chair there. But other than that, the machines are fantastic. They run great. I’ve had no big problems so far with them in the short time I’ve had them. I’d say they’re wonderful. It’s funny the guy that delivered it couldn’t get the washer to work to pump the water out. And he left and my older son went down and one, two, three, he made it work. Otherwise, they would have sent out a repairman for the first day that it was delivered. And I said to myself, “This is crazy. I bought a brand new machine and now I need a repairman? This is just isn’t working out so good.” But it was just something that they messed up on.

I have had a Fisher and Paykel stove for 20 years and it has served me extremely well. It is only now I have to get a new one as with time and continuous use, parts are wearing out and it is more economical now to replace it. And I am quite happy to go the same way again. In any inquiries I have always found the company approachable and helpful and would have no problem in recommending their product to anyone I know.

Warning! We purchased this Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer in 2007. It has worked okay until now. I have not used the dryer in 4 days. Today, I found the dryer hot - very very hot. All the indicator lights were off. The outside of the heating element inside the drum was so hot to the touch it almost burned me. The exterior of the dryer was very very very hot particularly on the backside of the heating element. Fisher and Paykel offered to send a technician at my expense. I wont pay for their safety problem. Junk. Unsafe junk.

Two of the igniters on my 9 yr old range stopped working. I tried to get the igniters repaired by two different appliance repair companies that Fisher Paykel recommended ($300.00 expense) both telling me the same thing - the unit was unable to be repaired due to a design flaw. I call Fisher Paykel and asked for assistance and was told since it was 9 yrs old they werent going to do anything. So my $10,000 range is now a good looking piece of junk! I would never purchase anything from this company!!!!

GWL15 quit first. I replaced the pump, the dryer died next. I fixed the drum. Next the washer quit again. This is the third time the washer quits. I disassembled it and am selling the parts to you, the ones who think youre going to get your moneys worth by repairing these pieces of **. You just might because Im selling pretty cheap. When the dryer quits again, youre going to see those parts on eBay also. I bought a Maytag this time. Well see.

Do not buy an FP washing machine. My pump leaked and shorted out the control board. Even their certified tech said FP knew about the problem but didnt do anything about it. It shouldve been recalled or offered free replacement. My washer is less about 4 1/2 years old. They said they would not stand behind it because I didnt have excessive problems with it previously. It has been almost a month getting the parts in (its still not in) and will end up costing me over $300 for repairs.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator. One of the salesmen at Lowes told me about the brand. So far it performs great. We went through with a countertop depth, because we like that we have more room in our kitchen. I had no bad issues with Fisher & Paykel. Everything was great.

I have a bottom mount freezer drawer that cannot open but a few inches. Getting through to customer service has been fraught with games of long hold times, getting disconnected when I ask for a supervisor or info on my repair. As I am in the United States, there is no local customer service. All calls are routed to New Zealand. Emails are ignored. My call records get lost. Nothing on the record anymore. We have no log of your inquiry. Calls to their authorized local repair company go unanswered. A second local company warned me that it would a long time until it can get fixed because they too cannot get through to F&P or their techs or get a hold of the parts. Complete frustration. After reading only some of the reviews here, it seems to be a common complaint. Nice looking product but it means absolutely nothing if it cannot function. No company is perfect and I expect hiccups but the run-around here is incredible. My only recourse is to start recording my conversations with the false promises I am given along with posting a review video on social media showing the drawer problems. My hope is to discourage anyone from buying an F&P appliance as the service when needed (and it will be needed) is absolute garbage. It should not be this difficult to get adequate service.

Do not purchase these products. The warranty is deceiving and does not cover parts if something does go wrong. Nothing on the stove is built to last. To get a simple knob replacement I have to have two repairmen come to do a 6 hour job and saw the whole top of the steel stove off. Customer Service told me I was lucky that the stove lasted one whole year. It cost $3k.

We bought the Fisher Paykel dryer at Lowes after being told it was one of the best dryers on the market. Soon after, we had problems with the way it dried (not drying many loads) the control panel cracking and breaking and we couldnt even turn it on. Now it is making the squeaking noise which is probably the bearing. It is now out of warranty and to fix it I could invest in a better dryer than have to pay to have it fixed every year. The technician keeps saying to us as, “Well, that it is the vent, etc.” I had other dryers using the same vent for more than 20 years and they worked just fine until they were older than 10 years. It is not the vent.

We decided to purchase a matching washer and dryer about a month ago. Our previous P&K washer lasted for 15 years! Unfortunately after less than 1 month of operation our dryer quit and we called the repairman and he indicated it needed an update mod done on it. It was showing a 151 fault. We waited about 1.5 weeks for the part to arrive and now today he says that it is the motor and dont know how long it will take to get the part. Plus he indicated that the P&K dryers are on backorder! What has happened to the P&K products which I used to know and love??

My fridge became faulty and I called a Fisher & Paykel (F&P) technician. He recommended that I replace the fridge and gave me a voucher that entitled me to a Loyalty Bonus if I chose the same brand again. I did and submitted my claim for A $50 Gift Card which I was to receive within 48 days. When I did not receive it I contacted F&P who advised that they had already sent it, by ordinary mail. I requested F&P to send me another but they did not accept responsibility for the loss as the Gift Card had been redeemed by somebody. It was their decision (based on their internal policy) to send a Gift Card (which is just as good as Cash) by ordinary mail. Note that postage costs $1 for ordinary and $4.80 for registered mail. I am amazed that an established organization such as F&P acknowledges that they are aware of some issues in recent times where mail has been stolen out of mailboxes but continues to take risks with Gift Cards. They do so knowing very well that it will not be cost-effective for a customer to make a formal claim in a tribunal or court. So when mail gets stolen or lost F&P does not take any responsibility. I have decided that going forward I will not give F&P a single dollar in business because I do not deal with those who are more focused on playing the blame game. F&P may have saved $3.80 in postage but has lost a customer, bought themselves adverse publicity and jeopardised future sales. Good luck to them!

Extremely poor service on a non-functioning product from day 1. Had numerous service calls dealing directly with FP service techs who failed to diagnose problems. They kept having my techs replace different parts. Took months. Finally sent replacement dryer. Doesnt work that well either. Through with techs. I am moving and am thrilled to leave a year old dryer (replacement) behind.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer from Sears roughly 4 years ago. Dryer stopped heating. I found a repair person, had to order parts. It is now 1.5 weeks later and the parts are finally in. It will be another day or so before the repairman can come over, $330 for repair and two weeks of hanging clothes or going to laundromat for drying. I would have to seriously reconsider purchasing this brand again with this type of wait for parts.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel custom designed refrigerator 3 years ago. We were leery of buying a $4,000 refrigerator for the same reasons people are advised not to buy a Jaguar - frequent problems, expensive parts and service. Well, we bought it because it could be built to fit in the design of our new kitchen. Two days ago, we noticed a pool of water had begun to make its way across the floor. We called and were told the next available service appointment was February 8th, 19 days away.Problem is, we sold our house and are leaving in 4 days, moving out of state. Fisher gave us the name of a subcontractor repairman. We waited two days for an appointment with him. He just left and said the refrigerator was installed incorrectly to begin with and now needs a part that should have been used in the first place. That part will not be available for 5 days, the day after we move out of state. Long story made short is, in 64 years, I have never had a refrigerator break down and leak. Never. And certainly not a $4,000 one. Never again.

Should have come to this site before purchasing. Our first Smart Touch Dryer stopped heating within two months of purchase. The heat switch had failed and then burnt out!!! Didnt hear from the tech after he left so two weeks called as wondered what was happening. Told it would be up to six weeks before the part was manufactured overseas and shipped to Auckland, NZ. This is a New Zealand owned company but we no longer stock the parts!!! F & P rep could not explain why I hadnt heard from them or the tech until I called them. Man of the house insisted on a new machine. Second brand new machine has stopped heating after six weeks. Four towels in a new large 6kg machine resulted in no heat again and we are now waiting again for a tech to come. Have asked for a loan machine but told that F & P dont do this. Poor rep started to tell me that if they did, they would never have enough to go around but she quickly stopped as she realized what she was saying. Samsung do a loan machine with all of their repairs. Have asked the tech to bring the heat switch with him this time and a spare so that we can fix it ourselves when it goes again lol. First ever Fisher & Paykel appliance and will be the last. Pricing a Samsung today. FYI - Support Centre response is faster from F & P via Twitter as they would prefer no negative feedback on their site. Phone support was abysmal. Have had a Samsung washing machine for two years and never a problem. Samsung also have a two year warranty instead of F & Ps 12 months. Lesson learned in our household.

The fridge (no ice or water) has been fine, in fact we bought another Fisher Paykel. But we bought the second one with a side handle. The handle on our first fridge kept breaking off. The technician said the magnets were too strong. You may want to check the pressure it takes to open the door because you can take out some magnets. It costs about $150-$170 Cdn to replace (parts and labour past warranty period). Here are the two old handles of our old fridge which is now in the basement. We are on our third handle and I open it by pulling on the top of the door.

I bought my Fisher-Paykel dishwasher in 1/09. It worked fine for a few months, but started beeping and would stop running. I contacted Fisher-Paykel and they recommended I use the dishwasher cleaner, which I did. It ran fine for a while but again started beeping. This time I contacted Jeffers-McGill in Columbia, where I bought the dishwasher. They were very unconcerned and gave me the name of a repair company. I have had 2 technicians come, neither seemed to know how to fix it, and after paying $132, I still dont have a dishwasher that is running correctly. One of the technicians indicated it had been installed wrong. I have now spent over $200 for a $1,000 machine, and still dont have a dishwasher I can depend on. In fact, the 1st dishwasher I bought from Jeffers-McGill started giving me problems after only 2 years, at which time I bought the Fisher-Paykel. I will never buy another appliance from Jeffers-McGill, nor will my family, former good customers of theirs. What do I do now? I am very upset about spending so much money on an elite appliance that is not living up to its reputation.
