Dishwasher Troubleshooting

IF THE PROGRAM FAILS, CHECK THAT: 
• The dishwasher is connected to the power supply. 
• There is no power failure. 
• The water supply is open. 
• The dishwasher door is properly closed. 

IF WATER REMAINS INSIDE THE DISHWASHER, CHECK THAT: 
• The drain hose is not kinked. 
• The drain siphon is not obstructed. 
• The dishwasher filters are not clogged. 

IF THE DISHES DO NOT COME OUT CLEAN, CHECK THAT: 
• The correct amount of detergent has been added. 
• There is regenerating salt inside the special container. 
• The dishes are loaded correctly. 
• The selected program is suitable for the dish types and their degree of soiling. 
• All the filters are clean and positioned correctly. 
• The spray arm nozzles are not obstructed. 
• There is no object obstructing the rotation of the spray arms. 
• Run hot water faucet for a few minutes (until water gets hot) before starting dishwasher. 

IF THE DISHES FAIL TO DRY AND REMAIN DULL, CHECK THAT: 
• There is rinse-aid inside the special container 
• The rinse-aid dispenser setting is correct. 
• The detergent used is of good quality and has not lost its effectiveness (for example, through incorrect storage such as with the container left open). 

IF THE DISHES SHOW SIGNS OF STREAKING, STAINING, ETC. CHECK THAT: 
• The rinse-aid dispenser setting is not too high. 

IF THERE ARE VISIBLE TRACES OF RUST INSIDE THE TANK/UNIT: 
• The tank is made of stainless steel and therefore any rust marks are due to external elements (fragments of rust from the water supply, pots, cutlery, etc...) Special products are commercially available to remove such marks. 
• Check that the amount of detergent being used is correct. Certain detergents can be more corrosive than others. 
• Check that the cap of the salt container is securely closed and that the water softening setting is correct.

Gas Grill Troubleshooting

No gas flow 
You are either out of gas or your excess flow valve tripped. First check for gas in your cylinder. Typically a full cylinder weighs about 34 pounds and about 17-18 when it's empty. You can weigh it on a household scale. Or better yet, use a gauge. 
If you have gas, you may have tripped the excess flow valve. So, turn off the control knob, disconnect the regulator, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the regulator. Turn on the tank valve slowly, then light grill according to lighting instructions. 
If flames are still low, repeat this process up to three times. If this process fails the excess flow valve may have become stuck in the regulator and the regulator will need to be replaced. 

Sudden drop in gas flow 
You are either out of gas or your excess flow valve tripped. First check for gas in your cylinder. Typically a full cylinder weighs about 30 pounds and about 17-18 when it's empty. You can weigh it on a household scale. Or better yet, use a gauge. 
If you have gas, you may have tripped the excess flow valve. So, turn off the control and tank knobs and wait 30 seconds. Turn on the tank valve slowly, then light grill according to lighting instructions. If flames are still low, repeat this process up to three times. If this process fails the excess flow valve may have become stuck in the regulator and the regulator will need to be replaced. 

Low flow with natural gas 
A "dual fuel" gas grill is required to convert a propane grill to natural gas. If you're going to, or have already, converted your grill, make sure that you have the Char‑Broil natural gas conversion kit specified for your grill. If your grill is a Char‑Broil Dual Fuel®-equipped gas grill model, the specified conversion kit model number is listed on the rating label of your grill. You can also look for a Dual Fuel Natural Gas Conversion Kit. You'll need to have your model number available. 
If conversion to natural gas has resulted in lower than expected temperatures please call your local gas company for a service visit. Only the local gas company can determine if the proper pressure is being delivered to the grill. If your grill has more than 65,000 BTU’s, a 3/8” hose may not allow enough gas to flow. In this case a 1/2” hose is recommended. 

Gas regulator tripped

Bad propane tank connection 
You probably have a bad propane tank connection or the rubber seal has failed. Turn off the cylinder valve. Remove the regulator from the cylinder and inspect the rubber seal in the cylinder valve for damage. If it's damaged, replace the cylinder. 

Yellow flames instead of blue 
The most common cause of yellow flames is low gas pressure from the regulator, which is an easy fix that you can do at home. 
1. Open the grill lid. 
2. Turn off all knobs on the control panel in front. 
3. Turn off the tank knob. Disconnect the regulator from the propane tank. 
4. Wait 30 seconds. Reconnect the regulator to the propane tank. 
5. Slowly open the propane tank knob all the way open. 
6. Turn on the appropriate control knob and light the grill per the instructions on the control panel. 
If these steps helped, you can prevent the regulator from getting stuck again. You’ll want to make sure that you turn off the control knobs before turning off the valve on the propane tank. But, if this doesn't help and the flames are large and still yellow, you may need to replace the regulator.

Range Troubleshooting

Range does not operate (no knob lights, interior lights, etc). 
Power cord not plugged in, or no power to receptacle, or breaker tripped. 
Check breaker.  

Burner will not light.  
Gas supply not on / shutoff valve closed. Power cord not plugged in, or no power to receptacle, or breaker tripped. Burner ports near igniter, or igniter itself is obstructed or dirty. Burner head not installed correctly on base. 
Defective or clogged burner valve. Incorrect orifice or clogged orifice. Igniter defective (not sparking). Low gas pressure to unit. Defective regulator or regulator installed improperly. 
Check shutoff valve. 
Check breaker.  
Clean burner ports / igniter. 
Check burner head installation. 

Burner will not stay lit.  
Burner ports obstructed or dirty. Vent plugged on regulator or regulator installed improperly. Low gas pressure. 
Clean burner ports / igniter. 

Burner not working well / lazy or yellow flame. 
Burner ports are obstructed or dirty. Poor combustion, air-fuel mixture not adjusted properly. Gas pressure incorrect / incorrect regulator. Orifice sized incorrectly for gas type. 
Clean burner ports / igniter. 

Gas Odor.  
Burner went out or did not light. Burner head not installed correctly on base. Burner ports obstructed or dirty. 
Loose or broken gas line. Ruptured pressure regulator. Poor combustion, air-fuel mixture not adjusted properly. 
Relight burner. 
Check burner head installation. 
Clean burner ports / igniter. 

Oven Light not working.  
Power cord not plugged in, or no power to receptacle, or breaker tripped. Bulb is burned out. 
Check breaker. Replace bulb. 

Heat escaping from top of oven door.  
Oven door not sealing correctly.  
Check/clean oven door gasket. Replace if worn. 

Fan noise / hot air coming from appliance, even when off. 
Oven cooling down.  
This is normal. If you DO NOT hear the fan running during or after using the oven. 

Oven Mode and/or Oven Temperature backlight on or blinking. 
a) Power outage/power came on with one or more control knobs not OFF. Turn both controls OFF. 
b) Problem with controller or temperature sensing. Rangetop can still be used.

Refrigerator Troubleshooting

Malfunction message 
A malfunction is usually indicated by a message on the display. 
Problems that cannot be solved by the user are signaled through a malfunction code. 

The refrigerator or the freezer does not work 
Is the appliance connected to the electrical power supply? 
Is electrical power available at the electricity socket? 
Is the power button activated? 
Is the unit in ‘Demo’ Mode? 

The refrigerator or the freezer is warmer than usual 
Does the display show a malfunction code? 
Is the temperature adjusted correctly? 
Were the doors or drawers open for a long period of time? 
Were large quantities of food recently inserted? 
Is the unit in ‘Demo’ Mode? 

The compressors are running for an extended period of time 
Bear in mind that during very hot weather and with very high temperatures in the room it is normal that the compressor remains on for prolonged periods of time. 
Were the doors or drawers open for a long period of time? 
Were large quantities of food recently inserted? 
Check that the doors are closed and that the food or containers do not obstruct the perfect closure of the door. 
Is one or more compartments in Shopping Mode? 

If you hear unusual noises 
It is normal to hear noises from the ventilators or compressors during operation or during the defrost phase. 
Noise could be more marked depending on the position of the appliance and the surrounding environment. 

Condensation inside and outside of the refrigerator 
If the climate is very humid, the formation of condensation is normal. 
Opening the door or drawers for prolonged periods of time can contribute to the formation of condensation. 
In any case, make sure that the doors are always perfectly closed. 

Ice or frost build up inside the refrigerator or freezer 
Did you leave the doors open for a long period of time? 
Do the doors close perfectly? 
If the doors do not close perfectly, contact your installer. 
In case of frost or ice build up in the Fresh Zone compartment, due to frequent and prolonged opening of the doors, deactivate the Fresh function via the button on the control panel. Wait until the frost or ice melts, then remove the drawer and dry the sides and bottom of the compartment.  

Unpleasant odors inside the refrigerator 
Clean the appliance completely. 
Properly cover all the food. Do not conserve food for prolonged periods of time. 

The doors are difficult to open 
The appliance is designed to ensure a fully sealed enclosure. When the door is closed, a vacuum condition can occur: in this case it is necessary to wait a few seconds until the pressure balances before opening the door. 

Appliance is cooling but lights and display are not working  
Check to see if the appliance was accidently placed into Sabbath mode.
