Microwave Repair

Hitachi Microwave is sparking or arcing 
Waveguide Cover. The waveguide cover might be damaged and shorting out. Try removing the waveguide cover and see if the problem resolves. If the waveguide cover is burnt or will not stay in place, replace it. 

Hitachi Microwave turns on by itself 
Main Control Board. First, make sure that the touchpad is working properly. If the touchpad is working properly, the main control board is likely at fault. If the control board is defective, replace it. 

Hitachi Microwave display not working 
Main Control Board. If the display goes out partially, the display board is more commonly at fault. If the display isn’t working at all, either the main control board or the display board could be at fault. 

Hitachi Microwave buttons not working 
Touchpad. To determine if the touchpad is defective, try pressing each of the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons respond correctly while others don’t, replace the touchpad. 

Hitachi Microwave turntable not turning 
Turntable Motor. Use a multimeter to test the motor for continuity. If the turntable motor does not have continuity, replace it. 

Hitachi Microwave shuts off after a few seconds 
Door Switch. A door switch might be failing intermittently. Check each of the door switches for signs of overheating, arcing, or burning. If you don’t see any obvious signs of failure, use a multimeter to test each switch for continuity. If any of the switches is visibly damaged or only has intermittent continuity, replace it. 

Hitachi Microwave light bulb not working 
Light Bulb. The light bulb itself might be burned out. Replace the light bulb before replacing any of the parts associated with the light bulb 

Hitachi Microwave not working 
Line Fuse. If too much current passes through the microwave circuitry, the line fuse will blow. If the line fuse blows, the microwave won’t start. To determine if the line fuse is at fault, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the fuse does not have continuity, replace it. In addition, you should investigate and resolve the problem that caused the fuse to blow. If you don’t resolve the underlying issue, the new fuse will blow too. (Caution: The microwave oven can store thousands of volts of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Only a licensed technician should replace the line fuse.) 

Hitachi Microwave not heating 
Diode. The diode converts the A/C power output of the transformer to D/C, doubling the voltage to nearly 5,000 volts. This high voltage powers the magnetron to heat the food. If the diode burns out, the magnetron won’t receive enough voltage to operate, preventing the microwave from heating. When the diode fails, it is often visibly burned out. Inspect the diode and if the diode is burned out, replace it. If inspecting the diode proves inconclusive, test it with a multimeter that uses a 9-volt battery or put a 9-volt battery in series with the diode. When the leads are reversed, the diode should only have continuity in one direction. (Warning: The microwave oven can store a lethal amount of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the high running voltage and the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Only a licensed technician should replace the diode.)

The refrigerator does not get cold at all. 
Is the refrigerator plugged in properly? 
Check the fuse box for blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. 

The refrigerator does not get cold enough. 
Is the refrigerator placed in the direct sunlight? 
Is the temperature set to "Cold"? 
Is the food stored too much? 
Is the door slightly opened? 

Food in the refrigerator compartment freezes. 
Is the temperature set to "Coldest"? 
Do you place food with moisture or vegetables nearby the cold air vent? It will be frozen if it is placed nearby the cold air vent. 

Dew appears. 
When the ambient humidity is too high, the door gasket may have dew. Please wipe it up with dry cloth. 
Is the door closed firmly? 
Is the door opened and closed too frequently or opened for a long time? 

The inside is smelling. 
Do you store food with odor without wrapping it? 

The refrigerator is noisy. 
Make sure the refrigerator is installed firmly. 
Is the refrigerator touching the wall? 

The Control Panel does not respond: 
Is "Child Lock" function activated? 
Is Refrigerator the compartment Door open? Operate after closing it. 
Is there water or dirt on the Control Panel? 
Are you wearing gloves or applying a plaster? Touch only one button at a time.

Washer Repair

Does not operate 
The power plug is not inserted in the power outlet. 
There is a power outage. 
The Delay Timer has been set. 

It is wet, even though it is the fi rst time to use it (drain hose, tub, etc.) 
There may be moisture or water left in the tub or hoses from the performance test before shipping from the factory. 

The remaining time increases during operation 
The remaining time is adjusted to compensate for the speed of the incoming water. 

Water is added again during the washing process 
Water is added automatically up to the set water level if the water level falls because water is absorbed by the laundry. 

Wash time is longer than the time that was set manually 
If the water pressure is low, the operating time may increase due to a longer water supply time. 

The washing machine stops during the spin cycle and starts adding water 
If the laundry is extremely off balance when the spin cycle starts, the spin cycle stops and the rinse cycle starts to rebalance the laundry. After the load is rebalanced, the spin cycle starts again. 

During the spin cycle, the tub spins increasingly faster 
This is to more efficiently remove water. 

Sound of water is heard when the tub moves 
That is the sound of water in the Liquid Load Balancer, which is used for balancing when the tub is spinning. 

The lid does not open 
When the lid lock indicator is lit, the lid is locked and cannot be opened. 
The lid is locked and cannot be opened because there was a power outage or the power was turned off while the lid lock indicator was lit. Turn on the power and wait for the lock to be released. 
  
The strength of water flow does not change in spite of changing the indicator 
It may not change the strength of water flow according to the process and the load amount. It is not abnormal.
