How do I clean a glass oven door
Posted On: January 24, 2022

Ovens are one of the many hard-working appliances in your home. And for your range to correctly do the job, it needs to be cleaned regularly. The bottom, inside, outside, and yes, this includes the glass door. Depending on how dirty it is, you can either clean it by removing the door or without removing it.

Remember to wait until the oven is completely cool before cleaning, especially if you have used the self-clean option.

If you want to do a thorough cleaning job, it is best to remove the oven door. You can do this by opening the door and resting it on your legs as you start to unscrew the screws located at the top of the door.

Set aside the door for now and use a vacuum to remove any crumbs built up around the sides. Once all the crumbs are gone, you can work on the door.

There are oven cleaners you can purchase, but they contain harsh chemicals which can pose a health hazard to you and your family. The best natural cleaner is vinegar and baking soda.

Start by sprinkling a generous amount of baking soda onto the door, then spray the area with vinegar and allow the baking soda to bubble. Use a non-abrasive sponge to spread the paste and then a wet cloth to wipe away the residue.

Once the dirt and grime are gone, you can use a glass cleaner to make the glass shine. After you're finished cleaning, place the door back onto the oven and ensure the screws are on tight.

To quickly clean the glass door, create a paste of baking soda and water and spread it all over using a rag or sponge. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 to 20 minutes or longer, depending on how much dirt has built up. Remove the paste with a wet rag.

Another cleaning solution you can use is baking soda and vinegar. But if that doesn't work and you're comfortable, you can use oven cleaners such as Easy-Off.

When cleaning your glass door, it's essential that you use a soft cloth as anything abrasive can scratch the glass.
