Purchased the oven on July 15, 2015. Used the self-cleaning feature for the first time today. The oven blew up. Fire Department came and condemned the oven. Said it was defective. KitchenAid is refusing to acknowledge that this is defective. On the phone for 3 hours, transferred everywhere. This double oven cost us over $3000.00 and they are refusing to offer any assistance. The snottiest customer service rep I have ever encountered... MARCIE IN BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN. I was traumatized by the explosion and the resulting smoke. KitchenAid... You should be ashamed of yourselves. How do you sleep at night reading all of these terrible reviews of your supposedly premium products?

Tonight while eating dinner, the dishwasher just started making a strange noise and steaming like the drying cycle started coming out. We shut off the power to it, but it kept running. Then it started filling and started flooding the kitchen. Prior to this, the door lock started acting up and it has been hard to lock. Previous to that, the soap dispenser stopped working. After 2 years, the racks started breaking and falling apart. Model number KitchenAid KUDP02IR.

I purchased a suite of Kitchen Aid products in July 2011 from Art Handlers Appliance Center. Refrigerator, dishwasher, gas convection oven and range and microwave. They were installed in my new home. To date, the handle on my microwave didnt just come off, the plastic broke. It just doesnt heat food quickly and is the noisiest microwave ever. The range has knobs on the front and the writing on all the knobs came off within one month. Im currently on my third set of knobs and they now have no writing on them at all. Therefore if anyone else uses the range they have no idea what they are doing. Also, unless you lock the unit, if you lean over it to get something out of a cabinet, you can easily turn it on with your body without knowing it. Overall, this is a dangerous unit to own.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher is about 5 years old. I just loved it for the first two years, and then it never seemed to clean the dishes. So I rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher; then, it didnt even remove the soap. I washed them and then put them in the dishwasher to rinse them. About a month ago, it started to run on its own. It was just the top drawer. I could not shut it off. Now, both drawers will not stop running. I consider this a fire hazard, and this dishwasher should be recalled before someone dies in a fire. My husband is totally disabled and is scared to be in the house in case the thing catches fire. Presently, I cannot afford to replace it. So we have to put up with two drawers full of water, which is beginning to smell. I add a little bleach every day. This dishwasher is a complete piece of overpriced junk, and I will never buy anything made by KitchenAid or any of their subsidiaries.

The wheel assembly broke for the top rack of our KUDS30IXSS6. We called to order new parts, and we have been waiting 3 weeks--using our dishwasher without the top rack. I called today, and they said they couldnt ship because they hadnt received enough parts. They had orders for 21,000 parts, but didnt receive that many. Clearly, this is a serious issue and a defective product. So much money on this stainless steel dishwasher, down the drain. What can the consumer do??!

The company says they care about customers but this is a LIE!!! I have a 6 months old built in refrigerator that does not work! Is is being 3 weeks and they still do not repair! In this case I would understand being a 6 months old refrigerator they should exchange it to show the respect with the customer, but not only they do not do that, they do not send repair. This is unbelievable!!! I even sent a email for the president of the company and he does not even replied. We want to thank Chris from B.C. who posted detailed instructions for repairing the electronic control board for Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Our 5 y.o. premium cabinet depth Kitchen Aid model #KBFC42FTS02 had the same problem that Chris described (constant alarm chirping, flashing lights on control panel), but our fridge was still cold. The Kitchen Aid affiliated repair service (contracted by KitchenAid/Whirlpool) told us that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. However, they claimed that the factory which manufactured the parts in Japan had been destroyed by the tsunami and no more parts were being made. Further, I called the KitchenAid parts service line on their webpage and that person (also a contracted service, not a KitchenAid/Whirlpool employee) told us that the date listed for availability of the part was 2020 (which he said meant that they had no plans to supply the part in the future)! The repair service offered to take the part out (then we would have no working fridge) and send it out for repair, which could take up to 30 days - not a viable solution from our point of view. At the repairmans suggestion, we attempted to find a new or refurbished part online and were not successful. Obviously, lots of other folks are having the same problem with their KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Before Christmas, reluctantly we schedule a repair visit to have the part removed and sent for repair. The repair service never showed, despite their assurances that a repairman was delayed but was on his way! After that, we were reluctant to trust them with the brains of our expensive refrigerator. After Christmas, we found Chris blog of 12/28/13, with his description of the parts we would need to repair the control board ourselves and detailed instructions. We were able to make the repairs and our refrigerator is now working. Our cost was under $20. Thanks, Chris - this was a welcome holiday gift! We cant believe how callous KitchenAid/Whirlpool have been in abandoning their customers. We will never buy another product from their company.

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! They told my service guy that they know they have a problem but my serial number does not apply. If I ran my company this way we would be broke with no customers. Buyers beware of KitchenAid.

Kitchen Aid customer service was of no value and offered no suggestions other than to repeat the same repair with a different authorized repair co. Our ice cream was liquid by morning time. Luckily we didnt put everything in there after we thought something was off about the freezer. WHY in the WORLD would KitchenAid sell such a piece of junk to their customers. I bought this thinking it would be good quality, but all I have is headaches. I hope I can just return this and get something else...SOON!!! I would love to know if there is ever a lawsuit over this fridge because I would sue-thats how bad this fridge is.

We purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDS30IXSS1 approximately 3 years ago, stainless steel. Performed well the first 5 or 6 months. Has been nothing but trouble with the control panel. Fortunately while still under warranty, the recommended repair store replaced the control panel. Very touchy control panel, and not in a good way. After warranty ran out, have had the control panel replaced 2 more times. Its happened AGAIN. We cannot turn on the dishwasher. First time we bought a KitchenAid dishwasher, and will definitely be our last KitchenAid we buy for any kind of appliance. Stay away from this model!!! Considering how much it cost, very very frustrating. One day the control panel will let us turn it on, the next day not. Then it might work again the next day... Like its possessed. But has been a few days of trying the buttons off and on, and no luck with turning on. Hmm, should we pay for another control panel or just buy a new one?? Advice or recommendations?

My experience with KitchenAid was the worst ever. 3 months after I bought the dishwasher it broke down and I have been dealing with KitchenAid ever since and nothing has been done. You spend at least an hour to actually get someone on the phone and then they don’t help you. I had someone come to fix the dishwasher 3 months after I bought dishwasher and they blamed on the plumbing. I had 2 different plumber coming. They tell me nothing is wrong with the plumbing. I spent almost 1,000 on a dishwasher that I use for 3 months and KitchenAid don’t give a damn about fixing or replaced so now I’m taking a loss of a $1,000 and have to go buy another dishwasher. Our plan was to replaced all our appliances KitchenAid. Thank God we didn’t do it, because I really don’t ever want to deal with them again.

We spent $665.11 on a microwave that lasted 1 year and 2 months. As is does not fall into their 1 year warranty, they refuse to help or compensate in any way. We had the same issue with a $900 dishwasher we purchased from KitchenAid a couple of years ago. BOTH appliances stopped working after exactly 1 year! It would seem that they are in the business of manufacturing CHEAP China appliances that break shortly after their warranty so you must purchase another one.Customer service is no help at all. They just read from a script repeating the same sentence over and over again. Other companies like Black & Decker and GE have much better customer service and ability to help customers when their products do not work. Would shop from them instead! I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator and Microwave Oven Combo which are 8 years old. The refrigerator went out on 11/26. My warranty was out so they sold me a 1-year extended for $429.00. A&E came out on December 3 to fix the refrigerator. The repair guy said it was the circuit board and would order it. He said it would take 1 week to get the part. The part never showed up and A&E called to find out if I received the part. The repair guy told me to move the fan to keep the refrigerator cool. He told me the part is back ordered until January 19. Now I am out of a refrigerator and freezer. I lost over $400 in food. I called KitchenAid back to get a tracking number for the part. They told me the part is due in on December 19th so I booked another appointment. After 15 calls to A&E and KitchenAid, I found out the part is now discontinued! And the reason is that KitchenAid stopped making it. But the system had a glitch and no one knew it was not coming in. Four weeks and still there is no working refrigerator. A&E came out to pull the circuit board to have it rebuilt. Another week before its fixed or is it? I called to get some sort of compensation and answers but again no one knows what is going on. I got mixed answers to my questions. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance! Then the spring on my microwave/oven went out. They sold me another warranty for $350.

We bought the Kitchenaid combination microwave/convection oven in 2017. Our problem with the unit is a faulty door latch, that apparently is a manufacturing flaw which Kitchenaid is not addressing. Sometimes as we attempt to use the microwave, we get a message that says open/close door. This is an indication that the latch portion that is in the unit (not the door) recedes back into the unit. We have had a repair man come twice to fix the problem, with a standard $89 fee that Kitchenaid does not recognize as covered under warranty. The second time he came, he told us he gets many calls for this problem, and showed us how to fix it ourselves to avoid the service call. It is a 30 minute nuisance to get into the panel for a temporary fix. We are disappointed that Kitchenaid would sell a product that is destined to malfunction repeatedly. We are hopeful they will stand behind their good reputation and fix this manufacturers error.

It has Superba stainless steel side by side for over $2,000.00, and it was paid for new. I never had any refrigerator or have ever heard of this happening before. Kitchenaid dishwasher model kuds301xwh7 - This dishwasher is 23 months old. 3 of the 4 upper rack clips have broken. When I called Maytag to schedule service for 10/30, the service provider Bragdon Appliance never showed up. When I called, on 3 occasions, I left messages with no return calls made to me. I called Maytag again to be told they couldnt get them back until 11/7/14. I escalated to a supervisor, Benjamin, who told me they couldnt anyone out any sooner b/c there arent any other providers. I have scheduled service and I am going to buy the replacement part and try to fix on my own. Looking @ the racks they are highly corroded and brittle looking. We dont use high heat or heated dry. We use the silverware rack from our old GE from 7 years ago that is not as corroded nor does it feel brittle.

We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

Purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 4 years ago and have had trouble with it beginning 2 months after purchase. It flooded my kitchen due to a faulty water valve. With it under warranty the repairman states, I have seen this on all of these and they know it is happening and continue to put the faulty valves on these dishwashers. Then within a year the bottom rack wheels came off and did this on 2 occasions. Then all the front panel light went out about 6 months later. 6 months ago the top rack fell off (wheels & welds broke and were rusty) onto the bottom rack full of dishes with several glasses. Last night I started up the machine with no water intake and nothing occurred except the smell of wires burning. I will be purchasing a new dishwasher and it will not be a KitchenAid nor Whirlpool! Totally giving KitchenAid and Whirlpool a 0 rating.

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher model # KUDS301XSS in February 2012. We previously owned a KitchenAid for 18 years and NEVER ever had a service call on it! Now this new one is less than 2 years old and the rollers on the top rack have broken (they are plastic). Then when I set the buttons to run the washer, it would act like it was going to start, then cancel and drain! Found out today from the repairman that this is a common problem. The pump is out! Says this happens frequently usually within the first 5 years! Thankfully I did purchase the extended warranty but on a dishwasher that cost nearly $1,000 one should not have to! I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid again! Also, bought KitchenAid Refrigerator a year ago. And have already had to replace the ice maker and had a service call about a leak in one of the hoses! So disappointing!

KUDS35FXSS 8 is a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that has an obvious design flaw. We had a similar style KitchenAid at our last house which was a good product. When we built our new home we got the next level up. In less than 1 year, 3 of the small plastic pairs of clips that hold the wheels on the upper rack broke off. Today the dishwasher would not go into wash cycle and after watching a how-to video I found 3 of the little plastic triangle clip parts in the food chopper. One was wedged against the chopper blade. I removed it and the dishwasher works again. I wired on the top rack wheels with stainless steel wire. The lady at the service center said that they hadnt heard of the problem. We bought it a few months before installation so nothing was going to be covered. A friend just had the same rack breakage issue and several people on this site say so too. CHECK THE SMALL PARTS WHEN YOU BUY!

Told they will repair, but never allow a return. Every time we had a service technician come out, they would say something different from the previous technician. Whirlpool said they needed to pull the whole ceiling out, including wiring, to stick in a small foam pad to correct a problem issue with this model rather than replace this Lemon. Calling customer service is just useless...they do not have any status on the part that was ordered or have any interest in help. I want this fridge replaced. Food is constantly getting spoilt and I cannot use this expensive junk. I just wish Kitchenaid will review my complaint and replace my fridge.

NEVER purchase this refrigerator (KSC24C8EYY02). We have had this refrigerator for 4 years (Paid 1500.00 for it) and it is completely freezing over. Repairman told us that there is no sense in attempting to repair this machine; that he sees this same exact issue with this same exact refrigerator and he has never been able to repair one. THIS IS A LEMON. KitchenAid just says Oh, well.

I purchased a new home in February of 2014. As part of the purchase, I upgraded all the builder appliances to top of the line KitchenAid appliances. Shortly after the initial warranty expired, I started having issues with all the appliances. $9,000 Fridge - the freezer is icing over and leaking on the floor. Dishwasher - cheap plastic bracket broke; cost me $300 to fix. Microwave oven - display panel malfunctioning and microwave light went off. Light stopped working after a year. You can buy a cheap microwave at Sears and the light wont go out for 10 years. Stove - this one is fresh, after you light the stove and walk away, the auto light clicker continues to go off. I would never buy these products again.

My built-in microwave (KBMS1454SSS) stopped working properly while still under warranty. On advice from the KitchenAid customer service department, I took the microwave to the local factory authorized service center where I spent $234.85. I took the microwave back home and reinstalled it, but it still didnt work. I took it back to the local factory authorized service center and, after eight days, he told me there was nothing more he could do.I called the KitchenAid customer service department again, and they said my only option was to get a second opinion which, of course, I had to pay for. They sent A&E factory Service to my house ($128 for a service call) and the technician ordered a part, came out two weeks later to install it, and that part did not fix the problem. After six visits (each of which I had to take off work and wait at my home for the repairman), the technician finally deemed my microwave unrepairable. He put that in writing and instructed me to contact KitchenAid for a replacement unit. One month, twenty phone calls, numerous promises of call-backs, and several supervisors later, KitchenAid offered to replace my microwave (they called it a pro-rated exchange) for $990. I explained that I had already spent $400 to repair the $1100 unit that I had, and that an additional $990 hardly seemed fair to replace a high-end unit that did not work. They agreed to drop the pro-rated exchange price to $468. I told them that us unacceptable and they said, Were sorry, thats all we are prepared to do.This is a very attractive unit and I thought I was getting the best when I bought KitchenAid, but after this five month-long process of trying to get my problem solved, I could not be more dissatisfied with the KitchenAid customer service department.

After a year and half, I had to have the repairman come out to fix the oven. $230 later, it worked. But now the oven is less than 5 years old and the oven will not work. And the over-the-range microwave will not work either. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance again. I have had other microwaves and ovens from different brands that lasted three times as long and were much cheaper! Stay away from KitchenAid products unless you like throwing away money!

We purchased a Kitchenaid refrigerator 29 CF model KFIS29bbms (french doors upper/ freezer below) for $2500 exactly 1 year and 2 days ago. The ice maker began to operate sporadically 3-4 days ago. Then 2 days ago the freezer quit (although we didnt realize it till last night). Today, we called Kitchenaid - they said warranty ran out two days ago!! They said too bad you are out of warranty! After getting a supervisor on the phone the best we could get was Kitchenaid would pay for parts but we are stuck paying for service call and labor. They said a service man would be out in 3 days.So in the meantime we have moved all of our food to our 13 year old General Electric beer fridge in the garage. The GE still works fine, we paid about $800 for it new back then - so it now has to carry the load for our $2500 Kitchenaid piece of junk. I wish I had read these reviews before making this purchase as it appears many other people are having the problems as us.

Our KitchenAid Wine Cooler is in its sixth year and stopped cooling this week. With most refrigeration this age you automatically assume it is just a premature leak of the Freon/coolant which is bad enough. However, the repairman (his trip cost $85 for the bad news) reported it was the evaporator that failed and the parts are already out of production/not available and therefore, the unit will have to be replaced. Whirlpool which owns KitchenAid confirmed the part is not available and that there was nothing they could do for us. Since we would have to replace it with another KitchenAid unit for reasons of fit and appearance, one would think they might do something monetarily for the consumer. Ironically last evening at a New Year Eves party we heard a very similar story involving a failed KitchenAid refrigerator that was only in its third warranty year. KitchenAid/Whirlpool should not be getting away with this fraud-- no consumer expects to junk a relatively new appliance because it breaks. When the class action lawsuit happens, Whirlpool will wish they had done right by their customers.

I am able to clean this refrigerator with ease. I also get compliments on my refrigerator and I am not married. This is a first, and a good compliment. Helps my weeks, months and years. I love the egg holders. The freezer does not freeze any item too much. They have came a long way, and you can quickly tell by grabbing an apple, and taking that first bite. I do not know how the engineers pulled up this marvel, yet this is true. It certainly cannot hurt to try this refrigerator.

Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature
Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature for the first time last month. When we tried to use the oven to bake again, the oven would not heat up. We purchased our KitchenAid wall oven, model KEBC147VSS00, serial No. XW5000833 in January of 2009. We called KitchenAid customer service concerning the problem with our built-in wall oven. KitchenAid offered to sell us a one year extended warranty on our oven for $300. That would be in addition to the charge we would pay to have the oven repaired this time, which we estimate to be over $200. They did not have an answer to our question, How has the faulty KitchenAid oven part or parts been improved so as to not malfunction again and cause our oven to be inoperable each time we use the self-cleaning feature? We do not want to have a repair done that may not really fix the problem. We called Consumer Reports. They recommended that we call the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We will file a complaint with CPCS. In our opinion, this oven should be recalled by KitchenAid.

While wiping out the interior of the upper oven to my KitchenAid Electric Double Oven Range, after completing a 2.5 hour self-cleaning process and the cool down period, I noticed an area of the blue interior coating (enamel?) began chipping away. The oven is less than one year old and under warranty. A service person inspected the oven, stated this part is not removable for replacement or repair. The service person telephoned in the concern and was informed of a patch/repair paint kit and said it will be shipped to me. However, it was suggested I contact KitchenAid directly if I found this solution to be unsatisfactory. After the departure of the service person, I inspected the chipped area further. Cracking was noticed on both sides of the chipped area that extends out an inch to an inch and a half on each side causing concern that the issue will continue.KitchenAid customer service was contacted and this manufacturing defect was reported. The KitchenAid customer service representative stated that KitchenAid is not able to provide any help or assistance with this issue since these material and workmanship defects are excluded from warranty coverage after 30 days from the date of purchase.

We did a complete kitchen remodel Jan 2012 and chose a KitchenAid double oven. Model #KGRS505XSS02. It’s been a super disappointing experience all the way around. The rubber feet broke on the stovetop grates. Kitchenaid and Lowe’s both said that’s not under warranty and they don’t sell the feet alone so we would need to replace the entire grate for much higher costs. It scratches the stovetop! Next the top oven igniter broke. It was repaired under extended warranty I purchased, not by Kitchenaid. Knobs broke next, would not turn. Again fixed under my extended warranty. Next bottom oven igniter broke but now not under warranty. Next top oven igniter broke again! We called Kitchenaid very angry but they offered no resolution. Now top oven igniter has broken for the 3rd time!! What’s up with Kitchenaid? We got a lemon for sure!

We purchased a KitchenAid 48 KSSC48QT side-by-side (for custom wood panel inserts) from Factory Builder Store along with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, all KitchenAid. The ice maker on the refrigerator has been a joke from the beginning. The ice dispenser does not work, we have to open the freezer door in order to scoop ice out of the bin on the door. When we open the freezer door, ice always falls all over the place and the flap on the ice maker is covered with an ice sheet from some type of leakage. After reading everyones comments, I have come to the conclusion that KitchenAid will soon be a past American icon and I will need to just take it as a loss. What a shame. My kitchen is the heart of my home and was featured in our local newspaper and in MySanAntonio website. We entertain almost every weekend and I make sure all my guests and neighbors know that I dont have any ice from the freezer in my kitchen because KitchenAid makes a lousy product. Guests have naturally gone to the freezer door during a party to dispense ice and I just comment Oh sorry, it’s a KitchenAid. Don’t ever buy one! Please get the ice from my old freezer in the garage! (which for 10 years has worked perfectly). Some of these folks are CEOs, contractors and custom home builders so I make sure the word gets out. I guess I will just keep a supply of bagged ice till the whole ** thing gives out on us, which I expect will happen soon based on everyones feedback!

The valve that allows water to shut off in the dishwasher freezes open causing the water to flow out of the front of door and flood your floor. The first time I was standing there and thought the door may not have closed. About 4 months later I was not there and it flood the kitchen, into the hall and living room. Called Sears. They sent a repair guy. He saw the water did not turn off even when you opened the door of the dishwasher, he said these valves have a problem and sometimes it is intermittent. Sears tested the valve and of course it worked, so they said the water damage was not from that. So lesson learned take a video. So where else did the water come from? Spent $800 for a turn off valve for dishwasher under sink and plumber said no leaks. Need this valve because I do not trust this dishwasher, will be looking at Bosch.

KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have
KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. Where to begin...? The glass door has condensation build up between the outer and inner panes. The oven heat vents through the FRONT of the oven door right below the gas burner knobs which makes them hot and difficult to use when both oven and burners are in use. The gas cooktop itself has so many indentations that cleaning spills/residue is a multi-towel project by itself not to mention the materials used to make the cooktop hold on to residue like Ive never seen. Theres another oven heat vent at the rear of the cooktop below the control panel for the oven which can heat up the key pad above it. When the oven is in use for prolonged baking (think turkey), the rear right burner gets hot when not in use. If I could shout it from the rooftops I would tell the world not to buy this oven and to forget about KitchenAid all together as an appliance brand.

Our KitchenAid (KEBC107KSS) oven was installed 6 years ago. We do not use it a lot. About 3 years ago, it stopped working after running the clean cycle. I installed a new thermostat (9759242), and it worked fine. I just ran the clean cycle again, and again the oven stopped heating up again. I will order either the same part or a new part (W10175596). I just found in the various blogs about this problem. This seems to be a major problem with KitchenAid and Whirlpool ovens. Even though I have an older model, people are still having the same problem with ovens purchased today. I cannot believe that they can get away with continuing to produce a defective product and have not been able to engineer a solution.

We purchased in 2008 all of our kitchen in KitchenAid appliances. The biggest problem is with our microwave. We have replaced the grill cover twice. We replaced this product last in May of 2013. We also put in a new control panel because the panel would not work. That’s when I replaced the cover. Today is June 14, and they put my new panel in. When the technician handed me the grill cover, one of the clips had broken again. I called customer service, and they told me they could not help me because the warranty had expired. I told her this was the second grill I had purchased. They are $113 plus change, and I will have to buy another one.I told her I would like to talk to the President to tell how much trouble this product is, and that they need to fix it. I know $100 dollars to some people is nothing, but to me it’s a lot, especially if you purchase this all the time. My wife wanted KitchenAid because they were supposed to be the best. I dont have that feeling about their product. But you are right, customer service sucks! All I can say is that they better get their act together. It looks like they have no fan base.

I am extremely dissatisfied and could kick myself for purchasing KitchenAid appliances. We bought a suite of six KitchenAid appliances for our newly remodeled kitchen six months ago. We installed them four months ago. Last night, I turned on the self-cleaning cycle for the very first time and woke to a kitchen full of tiny pieces of glass. A repairman will come in five days. If this is anything like the experience we had with the new dishwasher. We installed the dishwasher and I ran a load of dishes. All of a sudden, I noticed water gushing (damaged new hardwood floor), faulty part. It was three weeks before it was fixed. I ran two loads of dishes and the door latch stuck. A repairman came out two weeks later and used a tool to pick out the latch. He told my husband to pick out the latch if it did it again. I did not feel so good about that. One load and the same thing happened again. We called for repair, and it is two weeks before they can come out. We didnt hear from them in two weeks, so my husband called the service department and then the salesman. The third week, the part came in and they said the part was faulty. Now we have to wait for another two weeks before they come out and replace the faulty part. The dishwasher is working now and the oven glass exploded during the cleaning cycle. I feel like I lit a match to $10,300. I have read the comments listed and feel this exploding glass is an extreme safety issue. And to think I was so proud of my Kitchen Aid appliances. Why does this company not care about their reputation and customer satisfaction? What a headache and heartache. I wish I could turn back the clock and that money would have gone to another manufacturer that stands behind their product and cares about customer satisfaction.

One week after purchasing a new KitchenAid fridge, it began spitting ice all over the floor randomly. We had to put it in vacation mode every time we left the house otherwise we risked wrecking out expensive hardwood floor. After about a month, the part arrived (they replaced the main CPU) it was repaired. That lasted about 4 months then it began randomly puking ice on to the floor again. They sent out another CPU and the front screen and said that would fix it. In the meantime, the ice dispenser stopped working as well as the main freezer compartment. We lost all of the meat in our freezer (roughly $1000 worth). Our fridge has been down for almost 2 months now and now they tell us the fridge has to be gutted. It has a system seal leak which cannot be fixed on site. Our fridge will be sent out for repair and we will be without a fridge for 4-6 weeks. They offered $100 for us to purchase a small fridge to get us by! What a crock. This fridge has been problematic from day one and now after all of the repairs they still cant explain why the fridge continues to discharge ice randomly or how/if it can be fixed! DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID fridge!

Refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY03 just a year old. Problem with ice forming behind bottom drawer in refrigerator section. Needs a new fan and thermistor. After waiting for parts and then put on the service schedule, the repairman came but had the wrong part. Now, again waiting for the part and to be put on the service schedule. Without a refrigerator for three weeks. Also, the fan is encased in styrofoam held together by tape. No wonder there is a problem. Also the reviews for the repair company sent by KitchenAid were not favorable. I found this out firsthand.Updated on 03/10/2016: In August I had ice built up behind the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. KitchenAid replaced the fan and thermistor. Purchased from Lowe’s 9/21/18 and bought 5 year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Kitchen Aid did not supply refrigerator to Lowe’s until 11/15/18 (they said they weren’t ready to manufacture that model until then). I noticed first of August 2019 (8 months after delivery) that the long deli drawer (under the crispers) was not shutting completely on the left side. It stuck out like something stuck behind it. Upon checking, I found a block of ice (maybe 15” long by 5” high) behind the left half of that drawer. It was still under Manufacture warranty and they sent repairman from local appliance repair in 8/6/18.They returned 8/23/19 to repair. I had to empty the refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before and turn it off to allow the ice to melt I was informed. I did this. A pain is in the neck of course to relocate everything. The repair was made. 6 months later, I notice the same issue with left end of drawer not shutting. Sure enough, the same block of ice had returned. Called Lowe’s and they had no record of first incidence because that was MANUFACTURE WARRANTY incidence. Was rudely told this would be the FIRST incidence of such issue now that under Lowe’s extended warranty.I am set for yet another Appliance repair store to be here 2/13/20. So I’m sure they will also tell me to empty it before they return for repair! And my fear is this will be a temporary fix just like last time. I’ll be reporting it again in another 6-9 months and eventually my warranty will expire and I’ll be out the money because I have a LEMON!!! I think Kitchen Aid should replace it. I also would like to know if this issue has occurred often with this model. Maybe I don’t have a lemon, but the whole model manufactured at that time (between Sept 2018-November 2018) are faulty???

I have never been more unhappy with products I have bought, we upgraded all our kitchen appliances about 8 years ago and decided to go with KitchenAid products (Refrigerator, Stove top range). We have had numerous issues with both products starting within 2 years of purchase. The stove valves were the first to go, and then failed again several times in the past 6 years. The refrigerator ice maker solenoid was the second item to fail. Recently the refrigerator seal system went, just a few months after the warranty expired. Today the stove ignition switch failed and the stove wont stop clicking. The seal system repair on the refrigerator was estimated at $1700. A new GE sells for 1000. Speaking of GE, I kept my GE refrigerator in the garage and now 23 years later it still works.

Im a commercial dishwasher repairman. My 10-month old dishwasher failed, dead, no lights, nothing. I checked the power and performed troubleshooting steps, determined the problem was a bad control board. I called the folks who sold it to me. They did not have a control board in stock. I asked that they bring a board with them so they could fix it with one visit. They said no, they could not be sure the board was the problem. I was going to have to wait 5 days (including Saturday & Sunday) for them to show up between 1 and 4, and then have to go through another wait until they were able to get the part. I am not very fond of washing dishes by hand, so I called around and found a parts place that could have the part by the next day (Saturday). The part came in and I installed the part, which fixed the problem. I called the dealer and canceled the service call and asked if it was possible to get any credit on the part. They said no, but I could call KitchenAid. I called KitchenAid this morning. No luck, it did not matter that Id saved them two service calls. It did not matter that I had taken the risk for the cost of the part if my diagnosis had been incorrect (with electronic parts, once the box is open, you own it). After speaking with Shari and David (a supervisor), KitchenAids policy is inflexible. If a customer touches it, they dont warranty it. In addition, they refused to send someone out to inspect my work or to confirm the board was bad. Im very disappointed! Heck, if they had offered to split the cost of the part or even to give me credit towards my next KitchenAid Appliance, Id have been thrilled. Instead, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

After a few days I went to store & asked him what was going on. He said his K-A tech said its probably a bad intake vent. Dominic told me to call the number he gave me to get a serviceman out & just keep the door of my cabinet open when I use DW until tech comes and fixes it. I went home & contacted the service dept. Tech came out. Tech said he felt moist heat coming out from side vent by cabinet. Tech called K-A Tech who told him venting system must be bad for that vent is supposed to takes in air. Tech said he had to order a new vent system & he would be back to install it. Two days before tech came back I opened door of DW & a screw fell on the floor. When tech came to put in new vent system I asked him about screw & he didnt seem surprised. He said it probably came from the insulation. Is that normal? He put new vent system in & left. I put on the dishwasher & about an hour later opened my cabinet & felt the inside of it. It was wet. I called tech again. He came out for the third time. He contacted a Kitchen-Aid Tech who told him to do a diagnostic check. Result is he has to put in a new Control board and dispenser. Now the front light indicator doesnt work. The dishwasher was installed a month and a 1/2 ago and I can only use it with cabinet door open because it is warping my new cabinet and somethings wrong with the dispensers. When youre looking for a dishwasher nothing in the details tells you where vents are. Who would put the vents of a built in dishwasher on side when there is wood cabinets on each side. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that when used is destroying my cabinet and doesnt take the jet-dry and I have no idea what cycle because light doesnt work. I didnt pay to have a dishwasher re-built I paid for a new working dishwasher. What upsets me also is the appliance store that I purchased it from acts like its not their problem, its the companys. H & H Appliance center is the one who sold it to me, not K-A. I bought a new dishwasher not one that has to be re-built. Please help I dont know what to do. I dont want others to go through something like this. I bought 3 other appliances from him ($4500.00 total) same day I bought dishwasher. I guess I was foolish to think hed make things right. I feel H & H Appliance Center, 909 Rt.130 North, East Windsor,NJ 08520 should hold some of the responsibility. Shouldnt you be able to go back to the person you bought from and expect them to make good? Please help me. This will never end until the warranty is up and they dont have to do anything.

I bought a KitchenAid Refrigerator Model KRFC300ESS01 in March, 2017 when I remodeled my kitchen. It is truly the worst refrigerator I have ever owned. It makes loud noises that a refrigerator should not be making. I have had the repairmen out 4 or 5 times because of loud popping and clicking, vibrating noises and because my food is freezing... not just in one area but all over the place... frozen eggs, fruit, etc. They have replaced one part in the back of the fridge twice and it is now broken again! I am going to give the refrigerator away because it is not worth selling and get one that works and does not wake me up at night with loud noises! And I can guarantee it will not be a Whirlpool product!

Whirlpool owns KitchenAid. BUYER BEWARE!! The dishwasher does a good job but God help you if you ever need to use the warranty. Mine has a door leak. The repairman came out 5 times and replaced the tub twice, the door liner, the door, the hinges and the latching mechanism. There is still a 50/50 chance it will leak depending on how hard you slam the door and I do mean SLAM. They have taken up almost 15 hours of my time. The warranty says they will repair or replace the washer. THEY WILL NOT. You are dealing with dishonest people with no integrity. They are like an insurance company and they will do whatever they can to wear you down and not honor their obligations. Do yourself a favor. When looking at products, pass up the KitchenAid items.

On 2/4/12, I purchased a Kitchen Aid double oven microwave unit nearly three years ago, when doing a kitchen remodel. All the appliances are Kitchen Aid, thinking we were purchasing a good, reliable brand name. Yesterday, I placed the oven in the self cleaning mode. After about 2 and a half hours, the inner glass panel on the oven door exploded, sending hot, shattered glass onto the floor. The intensity of the heat cracked the new cabinet along the top of the oven. I called the service center, and they indicated there have been no recalls on this problem. I am horrified to think that if my grandchildren were present, they could have been injured. After reading other complaints on this website, I think Kitchen Aid needs to do a recall on this unit. By the way, they did not offer to replace the glass. They said the glass was covered, but not the two service calls to replace it, and the glass can only be ordered by a service technician.

We purchased a white Kitchen Aid gas range (model #KGRS206XWH2). Less than two months after installation, the lettering on the burner control knobs is dissolving off, and smears off with the touch of a finger. I called Kitchen Aid for new knobs, and they said they would send new control knobs as a one time courtesy. They do not consider it under warranty, as they call it a cosmetic issue. No chemicals, or abrasives have been used on these knobs. It is not a cosmetic issue, its an engineering defect, and a safety issue. Unless you want to live for years, with a range that has no lettering on the burner control knobs, dont purchase this range!

Plumbing lines create enough back pressure to break door seal shutting off cycle. Installation manual incorrectly shows plumbing mounted on left rear side. Pre-plumbed at factory from rear of unit. emailed KitchenAid last week, no response. Offered installation service from Sears in August (?), service technician had never installed a drawer type dishwasher. Gave up. Different Sears installer here now, 11/28/11. I am a renter and had this stove purchased secondhand for me when I moved in. I used the oven for the first time last night making some fries. The oven wasnt even at 400. I was checking the fries and as I went to close the oven door it accelerated at the end because of the pivot. The handle jumped out of my hand and closed on its own force. The moment it closed the entire front glass window exploded out onto my bare legs. I had multiple cuts but nothing serious. I am glad there are these testimonials from other people as I am worried that my landlord would be held accountable for the fix.

The repairman replaced all of the parts in the refrigerator. It was as good as new. Yah right. Now six weeks later it is starting the same thing. I just called and demanded we get a new refrigerator. Oh they cant do that, they only repair their screw ups not replace them. I would love to get a class action lawsuit going. We spent more than $2000 for a piece of crap. I know reading other problems that others have spent much more. The company that is ruining the KitchenAid name should be put out of business. They used to be a high end appliance. I have recently and angrily blogged about my KitchenAid dishwasher as well as the other appliances. That wasnt the only issue with the dishwasher either. The springs on both the dishwasher and the microwave broke leaving the doors to open precariously. My husband was able to fix the dishwasher with a $5 piece of plastic, yes, thats right, plastic piece that fit on the pulley system that opens the door properly. Of course, that would have been a $100 operation had we had a repairman do it. Where is our Consumer Ombudsman?

I purchased a KitchenAid double oven, microwave and dishwasher between March and April this year. On May 24th, the day school was out for the summer the microwave stopped heating. I called customer service and they said that a replacement would be delivered soon. Called again on 6/5 as nothing had come as promised and was told I was just approved for replacement and that I would get it in another 5 to 7 days. Called today 6/13 and was told the microwave is on backorder and they are not sure when I will get it. No effort to resolve the situation. Other than, I will talk to the expedite board and get back to you in 24 hours. It is ridiculous to go without a microwave that you paid over $600 for and it lasted less than 60 days. I saw that the retailer I purchased the unit from has some in stock and asked the customer service rep to get one from them and get it installed this week. Rep had to get approval for it. Looks like I will get to go yet another week without a microwave. The way it has been going, I will have to call them again to get nowhere. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID!!

I had this one for 18 years & the steel tub developed a leak due to a small hole rusted through. It took 2 months, but Whirlpool has finally replaced my unit with a new one. The original warranty was for 25 years on the tub. This unit was 18 years old, without any other problems. I did have to pay the $95.00 diagnostic fee to have an independent appliance repair company to come & confirm the damage. This was an excellent example of customer service, in this instance.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator Model: KSC24C8EY in March 2013. 13 months later the ice maker started to generate less and less ice. I called KitchenAid for support but they told me the warranty expired so I waited to see what would happen. In June 2015 my kitchen floor flooded with water from the refrigerator, forcing me to call KitchenAid again. They told me they could send someone to fix the problem but asked me to pay $319.00 first. Instead I called and hired a local technician for $75.00 who found out that one of the hoses connected to the ice maker was cracked and leaking. After he replaced the broken hose the ice maker began to function normally and the leaking problem stopped. I am upset that this new refrigerator gave me so many problems, from the leaking hose that consistently flooded the floor to the non-functioning ice maker. After only using it for two years I am very depressed and dissatisfied with the service provided by the machine and KitchenAid.

Its not enough to say - I will never use another Kitchen Aid appliance, or - Ill tell all my friends to never buy this product!!!!!! If you have purchased a Kitchen Aid dishwasher with its cheap plastic material, that when heated by the heating elements become weak and crumble apart, you need to know that this is very wrong and against the laws and rights of anyone who purchased this product. That means that it is your duty to call the Whirlpool complaints department and let them know that they have broken the law!!! And that you wont stand for it. I have called and asked to speak with the highest level (supervisor). She asked me for my full name, phone # and address. I asked her a few questions: 1) Where are the dishwasher manufactured (not assembled)? She did not know. 2) What is the plastic made of (knowing that she would not know) asked then can answer these question for me, she did not know. 3) Why are there so many Model #s for the same dishwasher? She said only the manufacturer can answer that question (and she has no idea who that is). I told her that on the Consumer Affairs website, there are 548 complaints on the same or similar issues that I am having with my 1 & half yr old dishwasher. I explained to her that when the plastic gets hot, it weakens and parts start to break off. I was told that they have not had any complaints. I gave her the website and asked her what she was going to do about it. She said she would record the information then pass it on to her supervisor (who I had already spoken with and was told that there was nothing she could to for me). I said that I would like her to email me a copy of that report. She explained that that was not possible. I asked her for her name. She replied - Kathy. I asked her for her last name and she refused. I asked for a phone number where she could be reached and she refused and said it was against company policy. I replied by saying - Kathy, did you ask me for my last name, address and phone # when I called? (yes). I finished the conversation by saying - Kathy, you get to hide behind your comfy, corporate desk protected... while the rest of us get to buy your plastic crap and have no way of getting any compensation. Thank You Kathy!!! I am now in the process of taking Whirlpool to court. I have all the proof I need to prove that Whirlpool is negligent. Im not doing this to have my dishwasher repaired for free parts included (which the company Corbeil where I purchased the dishwasher has agreed to do). I am doing this because it is the right thing to do and I wish more people would do the same...

I have always owned KitchenAid appliances. We thought they were the very best. I purchased a new stainless steel electric oven. The first time I cleaned it a fuse was blown. The oven has to be removed from the wall to fix it. I then realized that every time I used the self-cleaning it would blow the same fuse. After about 6 times I asked the repair man what could be causing this to blow and he said, I see this all the time so dont use your self-cleaning and it wont happen. Why buy self-cleaning if you cannot use it? So I used it again before Thanksgiving and another repair man from another company came out and had to order the fuse so no oven for Thanksgiving. I told him something must be causing the fuse to blow with the extreme heat cleaning the oven. He told me the same thing the other repairman said, Dont clean it. I have owned a double KitchenAid oven in the past that was wonderful and never had a problem. My other appliances are KitchenAid but after paying all this money for what I thought was one of the best I will never buy KitchenAid again.

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. We have a KitchenAid refrigerator. This refrigerator is less than 5 years old. It started having problems keeping the correct temperature. Called my service guy, he comes out, checks it out and states it has a freon leak. This involves the sealed system, a repair he does not do. Whirlpool was called and this issue was discussed. An authorized service provider from Whirlpool was sent out and yes it is a sealed system leak but he does not do sealed system repairs. I pay him his diagnostic fee. Called Whirlpool again and another provider is sent out to ascertain that yes it is a sealed system problem and guess what I get to pay another diagnostic fee. Whirlpool stated they sent out the first provider because they are on the List. Somehow this appears to be my problem that they sent out a company that doesnt do the repair that was clearly the issue per my appliance guy. I called to see if Whirlpool would cover one of these fees but nope. I wasted one hour and five minutes on the phone and got zero satisfaction. I also want to add that this repair parts and labor are covered under warranty so it seems doubly ridiculous that I have to pay two service fees. There will never be another Whirlpool, KitchenAid appliance in this house again.

Kitchenaid refrigerator model ksrg25fvms - I bought this appliance in 2009 for $1,765. When I received it, I immediately started having problems. In the first 90 days, there were problems with the freezer. When the repairman came to fix it, he didnt do anything. He just said to unplug the fridge and it will fix itself. We continued having problems with it, and recently there is an accumulation of water in the fridge under the bottom compartments. We called to get it fixed, and KitchenAid said that we would have to buy a one year extended warranty to fix it. We did. The repairman came and said that a small pea was blocking the pipe, and that’s why there was water. That is not accurate and he charged $349 just to give this stupid diagnosis. We are extremely unsatisfied and would advise people not to buy KitchenAid fridges; it was quite expensive and defective. It has been giving problems since the beginning, and customer service is of no help. Instead of making people buy expensive warranties, they should just make products that are built to last and that are highly functional.

After using the self-clean option on our Kitchen Aid range, the oven door locked, the oven could not be turned off or regulated, and an indicator light for the probe was on the display screen. Due to the inability to turn off the oven, weve had to unplug the unit, not use the oven, and light the stove top with a lighter. Ive read numerous complaints on the internet regarding this product and am applaud that KitchenAid has not recalled this item. Agreeing to replace a part through 2010 and not pay for the service call in unacceptable. We did not use the self-clean option until this year (2011) and had no reason to question the product prior. In May of 2017 my husband and I moved in to our newly built home. We purchased KitchenAid appliances. A dishwasher, a refrigerator and a stove. Shortly after they arrived I noticed that there were dents in the freezer door. They came to replace it. Then we noticed rust forming on the outside of the refrigerator. We had someone come and check it out. He told me to polish it more. That didnt change it in anyway. He came back out and said they will replace the doors. They ordered new ones. In the interim the new freezer door was getting rust on it. Then the compressor and the thermostat went out. They came to fix that problem. Now we are getting new doors and then they need to replace the freezer door. Now after all of this, the dishwasher is rusting. Our KitchenAid appliances have only been in our house for 4 and half months. I called the company, I called the place where we purchased them to replace them to no avail. We need help. However now with the new motor, the dishwasher will not dry anything (not even regular dishes and pot and pans) and leaves soap residue on everything. The dishes are always cleaned and dried. The Bosch never dried the dishes. Have had several Kitchen Aid dishwashers and I would not hesitate to get another. My children have them as well and they are equally satisfied.

In Nov. 2017 we installed KitchenAid double ovens, model KODE500EBS02. The ovens look very nice, but they are not for bakers. They take 10 to 15 minutes to preheat, they do not brown bake goods on the bottom, and they take longer to bake an item. The baked item is never done by the suggested time on a recipe. The ovens also bake hotter in the back. These were very expensive, so I am stuck with them, however, I would not recommend them to anyone else.

04/06/2018 - Purchased french door refrigerator (KRFF507E). 09/30/2019 - First repair. Refer making noise and not cooling. Evap fan hitting ice buildup Tech replaced evap fan and thermistor assembly (took over an hour to remove ice build up). Tech also reprogrammed defrost cycle from auto-detect to every 8 hours.02/19/2020 - Second repair. Same problem as first repair except evap fan not destroyed. Contacted KitchenAid service basic response was too bad, so sad. I explained that the problem was a design flaw, not a faulty part problem but that fell on deaf ears. After a bit of debate service stated that replacement parts (from 2/2019) were under warranty. Service tech ended up replacing same parts and a control board. Again, over an hour to remove ice buildup. 08/08/2020 - Third repair scheduled for 8/17/2020. Sour milk, refrigerator temperature running about 57 degrees F. Ice buildup again, waiting for Tech to diagnose. Again KA Service response was too bad, so sad. Service authorized a $50 reimbursement card, which covers about half of technician service charge (not parts). The refrigerator was purchased to replacing an ancient (15 yr+) kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that is still keeping my beer cool and my deer meat frozen! I will never purchase a kitchenaid refrigerator again (maybe anything from Whirlpool).
