The KitchenAid Microwave I have is an over the stove. It is stainless steel in color. Its great 95% of the time at heating food. Tried to cook corn on the cob and it overheated and shut off. It took over 30 minutes before it would work again. For now Im going to stick to warming foods and making popcorn.

We did a complete kitchen remodel and purchased the KitchenAid French Door refrigerator. It was installed in March 2018. First repair call was in October 2018. The ice machine stopped working. We contacted the company, a repairman came out and had to order a new part for the fridge (which took another 2 weeks for the order to ship and installation). Less than one month later, the ice machine broke again and the LED light on the shelf started blinking like a strobe light. Repairman called again, new parts had to be ordered again and another 2 week wait for the parts to come in and be installed. I wish I had never purchased this product. All of the other new appliances in our kitchen are GE Cafe. Buyers remorse; I wish I had bought the GE refrigerator instead of this poorly built KitchenAid “wanna be”.

I ran the self cleaning cycle on my 6-year-old KitchenAid oven and afterwards, the oven wouldnt warm up anymore. After a web research, I learned this is a well-documented issue and I replaced the thermostat at the back of the oven (a $55 part). I tried collecting the money from KitchenAid but they said, your oven is out of warranty and theres nothing we can do. I will never buy another KitchenAid product again. This is a well-documented issue and if this was a safety issue on a car, there would be a massive recall.

KitchenAid had an advantage right away with me. Our old dishwasher was so noisy my wife would not start it until we went to bed far away from it. So I was ready to spend anything when we replaced it. We spent a little more, not much really, and have been happy ever after. Our KitchenAid has been very quiet and we are happy campers. I am definitely a fan of KitchenAid dishwashers.

Salesman assured me that this was a wonderful stove, etc., etc. so I was suckered into buying it. Soon after the purchase, I used the oven... and SURPRISE - the stainless-looking knobs heated so much that I couldnt touch them! Customer service told me that this is normal and even professional chefs have to use oven mitts on certain stoves. (Can you believe that!?) After several calls, I finally got a rep. who sent me black knobs that are made of more heat resistant material. (I wasnt charged for them, so that tells you that they wanted to keep me quiet). That should have clued me in on this product. After approx. 2 months, one of the circuits went out and had to be replaced. My biggest complaint now is the dirty inner glass of the oven door. I called customer service and was told that since the appliance is more than a year old, and out of warranty, they will have to charge me a service call for their technician to clean it. The woman told me that this is common for this particular range!! (Again, can you believe it!??) I told her that this is a design flaw and there should be a complete seal to prevent this. She disagreed, saying its been like this for over 17 years!! NEVER BUY A KITCHENAID! Read reviews and take them seriously... I wish I had!

I purchased a new refrigerator (KitchenAid refrigerator kfs25xvms9) that throws ice everywhere. I had a repairman come to look at it and I was told to use a bigger glass. If I go to something bigger, then I will be using a bowl. This has been embarrassing because I have to tell everyone who comes to the house to Stop! Let me get a bowl or the ice will end up on the floor! I have all new appliances and I was told what I was buying was good stuff but I have to use a bowl to get ice. My question is, why have they not recalled the plastic piece that is supposed to put the ice in the glass? If I had been able to try it out in the store, I certainly would not have bought this model. I really hope that Whirlpool will stand behind what they sell and recall this plastic piece and replace it with one that will do the job. If I do not receive some satisfaction on this matter, then I will contact the Better Business Bureau.

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

On November 11, 2016, we purchased all new KitchenAid kitchen appliances (nearly $10,000) from a local reputable appliance dealer. On December 27, 2016, we took delivery of the new appliances, and after cabinet modifications, the fridge (Model KRFC704FSS) was installed and working by the second week in January 2017. Near the end of May 2017, we started to notice reduced cooling and slow ice making in the fridge, and arranged for a service call. The service rep came out June 19, 2017, and concluded the main control board needed to be replaced. One problem, since this was a new model/design parts were not available, and we did not know when the parts would be made available! After being without a fridge for weeks and many phone calls, the parts were finally overnighted, and the main control board was replaced. This appeared to fix the problem for several months until just recently over the holidays.Keep in mind, we spent nearly $3500 for this fridge with LED lighting, wood serving tray, digital controls, etc., and absolutely love the looks, style, and functionality of it; However, we are now experiencing the same problem as before (not cooling and slow ice production), and again set up for a service call on January 3, 2018. The service tech came out and after running a few codes and consulting by phone with the Whirlpool/KitchenAid service repair team, spent nearly 3 hours completely disassembling the inside of the fridge to defrost the condenser cooling coils and reassemble the fridge. He indicated this should last for a several weeks, but also indicated the ultimate fix would have to wait until he returned to apply a silicon caulk along the exterior seam between the outer stainless-steel skin and interior plastic shell. Since he did not have the right color of caulk, he needed to order it from Whirlpool/KitchenAid, which should arrive in a few weeks. Since we had the initial problem under the original warranty, we elected to purchase the extended manufacturer’s warranty service plan (3-years); so, this activity was being covered (i.e., no out of pocket). After conducting some research (like Anthony), we discovered this same fridge model and problem is documented across the internet. The model had already been redesigned (less than a year in production). Giving this some thought, and not liking the direction the repair was heading, we decided to start working with Whirlpool/KitchenAid directly to resolve my concern. Here is where it gets very interesting.Initially, we went to the KitchenAid website and followed directions for a customer concern by sending an email to NAR Customer Solutions @KitchenAid.com. On 1/3/18, Lisha called and left a voicemail and requested a callback to 1-800-331-2689 and mention Ref # **. After about 40 minutes of hold, we talked with someone in Michigan (MI) who wanted to know if we used social media (?). We informed him no, that we just sent an email to NAR. Wrong department… He sent us to Kimberly in MI. When she realized we were on an extended service plan, again wrong department, and was told to call 1-866-265-2082. After about 30 minutes of hold, we get Ashley in Tennessee, we believe with AIG (the extended service plan underwriter). Then, we’re forwarded to Amber at 1-800-253-1301 and told to mention Ref #**. After going thru the whole spiel again with her, we’re told to talk to her supervisor Marisa (?). She informs us there is nothing flawed with this fridge, and we must go the repair route. Not liking the fix for the fridge, we persisted to pursue a replacement that would work without a modification of additional caulking. We called again and talked with Katrina in MI with KitchenAid, who understood our concern that the repair was being made outside of the service contract by making an addition or modification using caulk and not repairing with new or refurbished parts, but she had to discuss with the service rep to confirm that was the fix. The next day she called back and left me a voicemail and requested I call back to 1-866-640-7146 and ask for her or Aleah. Unfortunately, this was not a direct line (as she indicated), and we were sent thru the same calling tree, recordings, on-hold, transfers, etc., again as previously mentioned.Long story short, we finally gone thru to an Andrew in TN; then an Erin in TN; then her supervisor Katzman; and finally, the “Resolution Manager” in MI (?), Gabby (ext. **). This appeared to be where the buck stopped. She insisted that by adding the caulk, this was a fix under the extended contract (using new parts) because the caulk had a Whirlpool part # (even though caulk was not intended or initially installed there). We expressed our concern that the remedy to add a bead of caulk sealant to the exterior joint between the stainless steel shell and interior plastic was not a “repair” using “new or refurbished parts”, and that it was an “addition or modification”, and only appeared to be a “band-aid” fix for the poor design of air flow that was changed on this model of fridge within a year… She disagreed. After spending about a half-hour on the phone with this manager, we were at the end of our rope. She thanked us for our time and mentioned she would document in our file our dissatisfaction with the proposed remedy to fix our fridge. In summary, if Whirlpool/KitchenAid were to admit and own up to this poor design flaw having subsequent failures, they’d be needing to recall and replace several units; hence, the reason for what we have gone thru and “contract misinterpretation” push back. We will proceed with the current fix, and tolerate at least 3 more repair visits over the next 3-years until the “No Lemon Guarantee” stipulation as provided in the KitchenAid Service Plan kicks in. Unless a class action lawsuit is initiated. Stand-by to see how that goes!

I purchased the Kitchen Aid model KUDS301Xss and had it installed in Jan. of 2011. In the first year, under warranty, I had the rollers on the rack replaced (they are plastic and after heating in the dishwasher, they get brittle and break) and then I had the control panel replaced. Shortly after the year warranty was up, the rollers on the rack broke again, and I was told that it was not covered, so I spent $50 to purchase the parts and I repaired it myself. I was offered an extended warranty, and I purchased it because I had already had so many problems that I thought it would be a good idea. So now, I have had the dishwasher for just over 2 years and the rack rollers are broken again! I called to use my extended warranty, dont bother. Its not covered! The rack is covered, just not the rollers; this doesnt even make sense to me! So I called Kitchen Aid Customer Service and after talking with a supervisor, I was told that they could offer me the parts for 50% off - $75 + tax! I explained that I paid $50 for them from a local distributor and they could keep their parts. All I wanted was for them to give me the parts; I was willing to fix it myself! I will never purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance again and I will tell everyone I can to do the same! I wouldnt be so upset if the company would stand behind their product. Its a poor design and poor customer service makes for one unhappy consumer!

Start to finish, it has been a horrible experience and my very expensive, 3 1/2 year old fridge still isnt working. After 4, (four) lengthy phone conversations with the contact number provided by KitchenAid, in every case, I was told that even though their product was “inferior”, (can you believe that)?; their own rep acknowledged that their product was substandard, they, KitchenAid, still refused to remedy their own and admitted manufacture’s defects. While they admitted their failures regarding their failure to remedy excessive rusting at the ice dispenser, clearly (in daylight) two distinct hues on the freezer vs., refrigerator door and in spite of multiple attempts to level their product, both doors still remain out of alignment. I am so tired of fighting this company, Whirlpool on down. Regrettably my next apartment kitchen purchase of 347 units will NOT ever consider any product under this label.

Bought a KA double convection oven. It works well enough but the problem is that enamel and metal on the upper oven floor melted forming small holes. I contacted KAs parent company and was advised that the oven liner was not a replaceable part. Heres the response. Thank you for visiting the KitchenAid website. We appreciate hearing from you. We apologize for the problem you are experiencing with the interior of your KitchenAid oven. The oven liner is not a serviceable part and is not available. The only resolution for the problem you are experiencing is replacement of the oven. You are a valued KitchenAid customer and we appreciate the opportunity to address your inquiry. We invite you to contact KitchenAid again either by calling (800) 422-1230 between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST weekdays or by emailing whenever the need arises. When calling please press the available option or stay on the line to reach a representative.I.e. Buy another $5000 dud? Not likely. Meanwhile I am concerned about using the oven in case a spill allows grease to migrate into the cavity between the upper and lower ovens. I imagine that this would be a fire hazard. We purchased this fridge 7 years ago and it is built into our kitchen -- thus not easy to replace with an alternative. It stopped working one week before Christmas. An engineer said that it was the main circuit board that was faulty, We called KitchenAid (Whirlpool) and were told that it could not be repaired and they could not assist in replacing it. They claimed that the company who supplied these boards to them had been destroyed in the Japanese Tsunami and it was not possible to replace them. They actually said to us, You are on your own. How can any responsible manufacturer say such a thing!? Clearly they have no concept of who keeps them in business. They offered 25% off a new fridge (to replace would be $10,000) but would not put this in writing or tell us how we could access the discount. It was impossible to reason with them. In despair we turned to the internet and found 355 similar complaints (all negative) about the same fridge. However, we also found a guy in Florida who said he could repair the board for $120. We had nothing to lose so we sent it to him. He was brilliant, texted when it arrived, texted that he had tested and confirmed it was repairable, texted when he had repaired it, and then texted again to say it was on its way back. Brilliant, all within 24 hours! We fitted it on its return and hey presto, the fridge worked and has continued to do so. So why cant Whirlpool be as caring and offer this service, indeed even work with this gentleman? You can go onto eBay and find the board you need for sale at $1800 (supply & demand!) plus you may also find other similar people who offer to repair the board for around $120. We now have our fridge working again (and have not had to buy a new one and refit the kitchen). However we will NEVER buy a Whirlpool/KitchenAid product again. (They trade under more brand names than just these, so look carefully). Indeed having had a whole spate of other kitchen appliances also break down for various reasons, we have determined to NEVER buy a US-made brand again if we can avoid it. (Marvel are another one to avoid in our view). The only branded kitchen appliances we have that has never broken down is made by Miele and LG. Our kitchen engineer said that this Miele and other German brands (and Korean) are the models they are called out for least. On telling this tale to friends, 3 of them all said that they had the exact same problem with their Kitchen Aid refrigerator at about the same time. One had felt obliged to replace with the same product but 2 others said, Never again with KitchenAid, and purchased other manufacturers. It makes you wonder how any company can stay in business with this level of low quality products and poor customer service. I suppose if you have bought up most of the competition (at least in North America), you can feel that you control the market and thus dont need to care. Complacency is the beginning of most disasters!

I bought KITCHENAID FRIDGE IN FEB 2013 and paid $2500. It broke in 2 months. Then in 2 months, then in 3 month. I LOST FOOD, TAKING TIME FROM WORK AND HAD YESTERDAY (OCTOBER 29TH SERVICE DONE) FOR 8TH TIMES OF SAME/SIMILAR ISSUES. I was forced to buy extended warranty and paid another $300 for it. I contacted the Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do or replace the item and it is not their problem. They said I need to contact the dealer or warranty place. I contacted them. They said they can not take it back because it has been used. What is wrong with this picture? How do I know if I am satisfied or unit works if I do not use it? There is no right for customer specially who has kids and needs the fridge to store food? Now I have to wait until they order important cooling parts again second time so I can use my fridge. Can some lawyer help me to get legal action against the company? I need help to raise voice to this. I also bought Kitchenaid dishwasher and after one time use it smelled and dishes did not dry. The company again said there is nothing they can do as it works just fine with smelly dishes. We all need to take an action to solve this. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP TO FIGHT THIS. Thank you all for reading.

I have never complained publicly before but for the protection of other consumers, I must share what happened to me yesterday with my KitchenAid stove and oven that I purchased 7 years ago for $1,245.00 (model number KGRA806PBT). It is supposed to be the top of the line product with convection oven. First of all, I agree with many people who have written here. I tried the self-cleaning oven one time when I first purchased it and it overheated and the thermal protector failed. The part was covered but not the service call ($100.00). I have never used the self-cleaning feature since. Also, for the past year, the oven has not always worked. As it heats up, I will often get an error sign on the panel. So, I just have not done much baking. Yesterday, I was not even using the stove or oven, and I heard a hissing noise in the kitchen and then a popping sound and then fire! The printed circuit board started a fire in the oven which immediately filled the entire kitchen with black smoke and flames. If I had not been home, I would have lost my house! But I happened to have been home! My husband was also home, although he was supposed to be at work. Thankfully he had a fire extinguisher in the barn so before much damage was done, he had the fire out. Of course Elders Appliance in Grandville, MI, where we bought the stove and oven, (and all our other KitchenAid appliances) said they have never had any complaints! Ya, right! Please do not ever buy a KitchenAid product. Terrible!

I find out this is a common problem with KitchenAid refrigerators and is not covered by any warranty even an extended warranty would have expired in my case (6yrs). The repair is tape and screws or door replacement. This is obviously poor manufacturing that KitchenAid refuses to acknowledge. Shame on them.

The model I purchase in 2013 is no longer made. I paid about 1000.00 for it. The dishwasher detergent dispenser was faulty and the rinse agent leaked all the time. Eventually the dishwasher detergent cover melted. The unit was quiet. But after my numerous complaints and repairs paid by manufacturer they replaced the bad unit with a new one.

Purchased a KUDS30IXBL4 dishwasher. One year later it stopped working. Under warranty. $125 later repairman shows up, takes one look at the dishwasher and tells me hell be right back. He doesnt even touch it. He comes in with a new control panel and has it working in 10 minutes. So many of these fail that we keep them stocked on the truck now. Oh, and the worst thing is that the original is warrantied for 3 years, but now that you have a replacement part in it is only warrantied for 90 days. He warned me that I would have problems down the road. One year later and guess what? My 90 day warranty long expired, the control panel has just failed again. It is cheaper to order the part and change it myself. I bought Kitchen Aid because of the brand reputation and quality. Now I know where the AID comes from in the name. Never again.

So I will start out by saying that I did not read the negative reviews before purchase. This was not my first oven purchase and should have done more homework. The all the positives were so POSITIVE! So, that being said, my oven is about 6 weeks old. Yesterday for the first time, I tried out the self-cleaning feature. It ran well for a few hours then completely went out. Nothing. I tried everything with the power and fuses but nothing. I have been trying to get someone to help me but I cant reach anyone. Sears repair wont touch it. I will call again on Monday to KitchenAid again. But seeing all of these poor reviews it is making me very nervous. I will have to say that this is a piece of junk. The glass on the inside is stained and gross. I will update this complaint again after KitchenAid gets back to me. But this is crazy. If consumer affairs knew about this problem with the fan and cleaning cycle, why is are they allowed to sell this crap? Class action, I want in. Should have never purchased a KitchenAid.

We remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Microwave, oven range, and dishwasher. About a year ago we started having issues with our refrigerator. First the ice maker then the water dispenser and then the circuit board. We have had repairmen come out 6 different times trying to fix the problems. Finally after the 6th attempt the repairman said it was unrepairable and notified our warranty company...What a flipping joke!!We contacted Sears where we bought the appliances from - useless. They did not care even though the warranty company is Sears Home Warranty, every time we tried to contact them we could not get through and when we did there was never a Supervisor available and they would pass us along to their main office and all we would get was a voice mail box. They finally called us back to say all they can do for us is offer us $247.00 for replacement (of a $3500 refrigerator that is 2 years old). DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! Just read all the other 971 reviews on this website.

KitchenAid is saying that they will not pay for fixing my gas range repair that I purchased a year and half ago. This is the second time that we used the self clean, and it just stopped working. They sent a repair guy out. The first thing he said was, oh, this happens with the self clean mode. Ill show you another way to do self cleaning without it breaking down. Now they are saying they wont pay for the repair because I had the racks from the stove top in the oven so that I could get them cleaned. It does not say in the owner manual to not clean them in self cleaning. And I dont understand why that would affect it??? Please help! I just purchased the extended warranty for another 5 years, and cant afford to pay $850 out of pocket! KitchenAid are really thieves!!! Model number KGSS907SSS03.

We purchased a NEW KitchenAid refrigerator 24 months ago. We were advised by family to always buy extended warranty on refrigerator regardless of brand because “they aren’t well made anymore.” We purchased warranty and accepted poor standard for expensive appliance. Within 1 yr the ice maker stopped working. Within 2 years the refrigerator side stopped holding adequate temperature. The warranty covered both repairs. What was more disappointing is the “styrofoam” part that was removed from the refrigerator. The service repair technician left the old part as evidence that they removed and installed true manufactured parts (from Whirlpool). I took pictures and will upload if that feature is available in this review. How much money did KitchenAid save by installing a large styrofoam part in their expensive product. It’s too bad consumers don’t have better options and shouldn’t expect more.

This began just before Thanksgiving. :( Repairman came out since we purchased the warranty and replaced the rack holder with new metal parts and the front computer. In mid February I wrote a complaint about all the problems I had with my # kfis29 French door fridge. I contacted whirlpool who makes the unit and told them that when I call kitchen aid they wouldn`t do nothing for me! After a week the place that sold the unit to me who had nothing to do with the problem also called whirlpool and told them the story. Guess what? He told me to come in and pick out a new fridge of equal value and that whirlpool corp. was giving me a full refund. So the store rep, told me that he had very little problems with GE and that if he did GE backed him 100% so I bought a GE French door, super quiet and they also threw in a 5-year extended warranty! PS DON`T GIVE UP! KEEP CALLING UNTIL THEY SATISFY YOU. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THESE AND JUST WANT WHAT WE PAY FOR! THE STORE I USED WAS RICHMOND APPLIANCE, STATEN ISLAND NEW YORK! Let me begin by saying that when my husband and I built our home 8 years ago, we researched and thought Kitchen Aid was the best product and value for our budget. We have had nothing but trouble with all three of the appliances we bought from Sears that were Kitchen Aid! Our Kitchen Aid stainless steel Dishwasher that we paid entirely too much money for worked for about 3 years and then we had to replace several parts on it. It lasted about another 3 years and we finally decided to throw it away and purchase the cheapest Kenmore dishwasher we could find! It has worked perfect! When our stainless steel Kitchen Aid fridge was 7 years old, the ice maker went out... We have yet to get it replaced! Our stainless steel Kitchen Aid double oven has been giving us problems for about 2 years when it was 7 years also! The bottom oven went out on us this past Easter so we have only the top oven working... So now Christmas Eve, when I preheated the top oven to cook my Christmas Eve dinner, the oven began to smoke at 240 degrees! Oh my goodness....whose appliances go out on major holidays! We paid a ridiculously large amount ($10,000.00) for all 3 of the appliances and are so disappointed that now we have to either pay a repair man to fix our double or just go ahead and buy a cheap double oven. I will never buy or suggest anyone buy Kitchen Aid for sure!

I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes in 2015. 1st of all Lowes extended warranty runs consecutively with the manufacturers warranty so you really are getting 1 yr less of a warranty than you pay for. I had a service repair man come out and diagnose the problem and said it was $400.00 to repair. I called KitchenAid and they said it should still be under warranty because I had a 1 yr manufacturer warranty and I paid for a 3 yr extended warranty. WRONG!!! I called Lowes and thats when they said the extended warranty starts from day 1 of purchase, running the same time as the manufacturer. So I called KitchenAid back because the dishwasher does have a 2-5 yr manufacturer limited warranty BUT since I did not use one of their two service companies, both I have never heard of, to look at it, they will not cover the part needed and wont accept the other companys diagnosis because they are not an authorized service company with KitchenAid. The 1st customer service agent I had was very helpful, the 2nd call, the agent was not friendly at all. Said the 1st agent should have been more clear and have a good day. I will never buy another KitchenAid product and I definitely will never purchase another warranty for appliances. They are a waste of money.

A five-year warranty was taken on my KitchenAid fridge. I called after 2 weeks of the delivery, and said that the lower box has a crack. They said they only accept claims of such when reported in 24-48 hours. I had moved to a brand new house; upon appliance delivery we went back to Markham and finally after all furniture was here, with small kids, we planned to stay, so I saw the crack then. After 3-4 days, I called cracks on the wall. They said no worries, that its cosmetic, and no heat or air is going out. Wow! A big expensive brand says that - its sad. Why not disclose this when I went to buy? I spent over $20k on KitchenAid when I built my house. I am very sad with the outcome. I need my fridge changed.

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. My 20 year old dishwasher was far more reliable than this overpriced hunk of junk!

Very disappointed with Kitchen Aid refrigerator quality. This is 2nd one. First one was replaced by Kitchen Aid after many attempts at repair. The ice maker spewed out water into refrigerator trays, water dispenser not working properly, pathetic (not wholly formed) looking ice cubes, ice buildup around ice cube dispenser chute and under ice maker. This one has similar ice maker problems as first except water dispenser works and water doesnt spew from ice maker to same degree as first refrigerator. Now after 2 years the LED lights on the top and in the freezer compartment have gone out except for one dot in the middle of each light set. After replacing the freezer light without fixing the problem, authorized repairman thinks a new computer board at over $1,000 MAY fix the problem. Refrigerator costing over 3 grand needs 1 grand repair after less than 3 years of residential use. Spend your money elsewhere.

We have owned the KERS306BSS range since March of 2013. On balance, we like the design of the range and its features (except the AquaLift cleaning feature which, like others have reported, does not clean well). During this time, we have had five instances of a repetitive problem of the range unexpectedly turning itself completely off. This has happened both while using the range and while it is not in use. KitchenAid FAQ advises customers to turn the power off, wait a minute, and turn the power back on in an effort to reboot the system. After doing this, however, only one of the features (oven or surface units) starts working again. The range has been serviced after each of these instances and works correctly for another few weeks, or maybe a month, and the problem repeats.KitchenAid initially would not refund our money and only offered a replacement unit. When we did not receive delivery confirmation, we attempted to follow up. We were told delivery had been delayed to February. Then, we were told replacement units were not available and given instructions on how to fax in an application for a refund. We told we would receive a confirmation. We did not. We will post our additional progress at resolving this complaint.Overall, our experience with KitchenAid Customer Service personnel has been very poor. Each time you call you get a different person who has a hard time locating your previous calls. The first time we called the Product Exchange Group we were assigned a contact person who said we should call her for any questions. Unfortunately, we could never reach her again and other customer personnel did not seem to know her.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances when we built our house in May 2010, after being told that they were top-of-the-line. Regarding our refrigerator (model KBFS25EVMS2) with French doors and freezer on the bottom thats been in the house for about 8 months, we noticed that the right side of its doors was not sealing properly. When I contacted the store about this, I was told that this is a typical problem with the French-door models. Should this not be disclosed upfront?! When I contacted KA about this, I was told that my refrigerator was out of warranty (date of purchase, not date installed) and they refused to help in any way.My problem with all this is my old refrigerator (Maytag) had it for 23 years, and I never replaced a door gasket or worked on it in any way. I dont know a door gasket should go bad in less than a year. Now being two years, it is crumbling and falling apart when you open the door. If you buy from KA or an approved service company, the seal is $199. I purchased one on the internet for $99 and replaced it myself. Buyer, beware! KA does not care about the customer, just the dollar! I will never purchase another KA brand or Whirlpool brand ever again, and I will make sure all my friends know about it too.

KitchenAid® Superba® Series EQ Built-In Dishwasher - KUDE40FXBL1 - Like many others in this column, we spent a bit more money to buy a Kitchenaid dishwasher, thinking that the quality was better. The delivery date for our dishwasher was April 26, 2011. As many have noted, the wheel system on the upper racks continues to fail. The plastic tabs that hold the wheels onto the dishwasher rack adjuster breaks, allowing the wheels to come off and ultimately leading to the upper rack dropping down on top of the dishes in the lower rack. On April 7, 2012, a few weeks shy of one year, and just before the end of the full coverage warranty, we had the dishwasher rack adjuster replaced for the first time by Sears technicians (since the machine was purchased from Sears). In January 2013, two of the four wheels were falling off again and allowing the rack to unexpectedly drop from the upper rails. After much complaining to Kitchenaid, they agreed to send replacement parts (2 dishwasher rack adjusters, one for each side, part number W10350376). The new parts are exactly the same as the two sets of dishwasher rack adjusters that failed in the past. I had hoped that Kitchenaid would have made a design change to the parts by this point in time, but it appears as though they have not addressed the issue. I will be replacing the parts by myself, and if there is no change in design, it looks like this may be an annual task. If anyone knows of a solution, kindly advise.

So, back to square one. 4 weeks already with a fridge that ruined all my food and is running up my electric bill. Plus, the companies they send out can only give you a full day appointment and the company they sent doesnt even come in the window set up.I tried to talk to a manager but shockingly one wasnt available. We bought our house in 2004 and immediately started anew with appliances, granite etc., in our kitchen. I chose KitchenAid because I owned it years ago and had great success. We bought the most expensive dishwasher, microwave, slide-in stove and trash compactor available, thinking it would last. As you know, this stuff isnt inexpensive. We purchased the convection slide-in stove (KESC308LSS0), which died on Thanksgiving Day amid turkey cooking. A halogen microwave, which died six months ago and had to be replaced with a convection microwave that sounded like a bucket of bolts until repair, arrived under warranty one month later. The dishwasher has plastic tabs in it on the slider for the rack that break and fall into the motor. We repaired this ourselves twice with new motors and rack sliders, which now have been redesigned without the plastic tabs. We needed a part for the stove but it is discontinued, so we will have to live without it. Thankfully it is just cosmetic. We await a new control board for the oven as we speak and if we are lucky, it will work; if not, we will have to pay someone to fix it. My point is 8-year shelf life? Discontinued parts? I will never buy KitchenAid again. If we had had to pay someone to fix all this stuff, it would have been very expensive. I am really disappointed.

After Katrina devastated our home, we lost everything. My husband and I didnt have much to repair our home so when we had to select our major appliances we knew they had to last a very long time. We believed in the KitchenAid/Whirpool company. We purchased the stackable washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove and french door fridge. Within the first two years the microwave went out. The cost of the repair was half the cost of the microwave. After that the fridge went out. We paid $265.00 for the repair. The following year the fridge went out again with the same cost in repair. Year 4 our washer went out with a part costing over $300.00. That same year my oven thermostat became a problem with a bill of $100.00 just to look at it. Now today after paying $198.00 for a repair guy to look at my fridge (which continues to run at 54 degrees) we learned that it will cost over $800.00 to fix the freon hose which is located behind a bunch of other parts and compressor. We trusted this company but it has been an expensive nightmare!!! We can not afford the repairs and the additional cost of wasted food and trips to the local laundromat each week. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM KITCHENAID/WHIRPOOL!!!! IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND YOU WILL SPEND JUST THE SAME ON REPAIRS. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE MY FAMILY LIVES EVERY DAY!! THEY SUCK!!

Hi. Purchased model number KH HC 2090 SSS - 3 n 2011 along with all the other kitchen appliances. We have been very happy with this powerful and feature packed microwave up until a few weeks ago. It began beeping and the touchpad but display all kinds of different functions. The microwave still worked so we continue to use it until my wife informed me that it had actually turned itself on and started cooking by itself. Unplug the unit and promptly called KitchenAid. Their customer service was great and even though the unit is 3 years out of warranty they offered to fix it free. We will see how the repair goes but so far I am very happy with their product and service.

I asked around before buying my last dishwasher, hoping to find a brand and a model that would last for some time. Instead, I purchased a Kitchen Aid from Sears. It stopped working last weekend, so we called a Sears for repair. They were booking appointments more than two weeks out. Next, we called a reputable, independent appliance repair shop, and they told us that our dishwasher had a defective motor that would cost more than $500 to replace. So between purchasing the product, paying for delivery, paying for install, then paying for a repair tech to come out and tell me that the dishwasher needed a new motor, I am into this Kitchen Aid dishwasher for more than $1,325 for a dishwasher that didnt even make it to two years of light service.Kitchen Aid should be ashamed of itself for selling an expensive product that couldnt handle 3 washes per week over a year and a half. Their standards and workmanship are not to be trusted, and Im stunned that such an expensive piece of equipment had such a short life. I conclude by saying that I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance again, and I dont recommend that anyone who reads this become a customer either.

I have always owned KitchenAid appliances. We thought they were the very best. I purchased a new stainless steel electric oven. The first time I cleaned it a fuse was blown. The oven has to be removed from the wall to fix it. I then realized that every time I used the self-cleaning it would blow the same fuse. After about 6 times I asked the repair man what could be causing this to blow and he said, I see this all the time so dont use your self-cleaning and it wont happen. Why buy self-cleaning if you cannot use it? So I used it again before Thanksgiving and another repair man from another company came out and had to order the fuse so no oven for Thanksgiving. I told him something must be causing the fuse to blow with the extreme heat cleaning the oven. He told me the same thing the other repairman said, Dont clean it. I have owned a double KitchenAid oven in the past that was wonderful and never had a problem. My other appliances are KitchenAid but after paying all this money for what I thought was one of the best I will never buy KitchenAid again.

In July of 2014, we bought a KitchenAid fridge with all the bells and whistles. French Door with the ice bin in the fridge door, electronic control of temp in wine drawer, 3 pull out trays in freezer and so on. We paid $3299.99 and it was by far the worst purchase I have ever made. 2 weeks after it was delivered I awoke to my kitchen floor covered in water. The water was dripping out of the LED lights in the fridge. I called to have a tech come out and they came 3 days later and changed 2 parts then said it would be fine. 3 hours later, it started leaking water again. I called and another tech came out 5 days later and did some adjustments then left. The next day, I woke to more water on the floor. Tech came again 6 days later changed a few parts. 6 hours later, water all over the floor. It took 7 technicians to finally fix the problem. I thought it must have just been a freak thing and surely everything will be fine now. 3 months later, my fridge wasnt staying cold. All the milk products were spoiled and I had just went shopping the day before. I called to have it serviced. Took 9 days for a tech to come out and they changed the seal. The following day still not cold. I called again waited 5 days for a tech and they changed the computer. All fixed again. 4 months later my freezer quit working. Again, it took 2 calls and 2 weeks to get it fixed.Well, I am on the last straw, my freezer quit working again yesterday. I called for a tech and I have to wait till next Thursday (8 days) for someone to show up. I told them I dont even want the fridge anymore, it is unreliable. They told me that if it had 4 or more problems in a 12 month period they would replace it but since they have been spread out over the past 20 months they will not. So here we go again.I thought KitchenAid was a great name brand. They make great mixers and other small appliances I cant go wrong. WRONG!!! They know what they are doing with small appliances but their large appliances are cheaply made and use the cheapest parts that always seem to fail. Stay clear of their refrigerators. In less than 2 years I have had 11 technicians out and the 12th is coming next Thursday. I have had 8 parts replaced so far and have lost who knows how much money in food spoilage. If they really stood behind their product they would have by now replaced the fridge.

First, after less than one year of use, the soap dispenser broke, so we got less-than-satisfactory washes from that point on. Now, the top rack is broken. All wheel assemblies are off, and it cost $80 for replacement parts that they gave us no instructions for. This has been the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. I have owned less-expensive units that cleaned better and never fell apart. Only reason we changed was we upgraded other appliances to stainless steel, and this dishwasher was much quieter. Never buying this brand again. Cheaply made!!

I remodeled my kitchen in June of 2012 and installed all KitchenAid appliances. Two weeks after the warranty was up on my dishwasher, it stopped working. I decided to get a contract, in case something happened again. Well it did. In 2014, the panel needed to be replaced, and today I just had a service person in to fix it again because its not cleaning the dishes. So to date, I have spent another $600 on this dishwasher, in addition to its original cost. The next time it breaks, Im just going to buy a new one -- and it will not be a KitchenAid! One other thing to note. I complained and complained to KitchenAid about the problems, thinking that they would do something to make up for the issues. But all I received was a form letter that basically said, too bad!

We purchased a French door KitchenAid refrigerator six years ago. Two days after the warranty expired there was a leak. We contacted a repair company and he said KitchenAid’s aware of this problem and they aren’t doing anything to fix it. He did fix the leak. The next year the icemaker went. We had that replaced. Now there is a different leak from the water reservoir. The water reservoir and assembly is obsolete and there is no replacement. After doing some research I found a replacement part number, but that replacement part is also obsolete. We will end up turning off the water supply for the water dispenser and just start buying bottled water again. This is the second time we had a KitchenAid refrigerator. We had no problems with the first one which was at a different property. Was still going after 12 years when we sold the property. When we remodeled the kitchen in our current home we went with KitchenAid. Now we are so disappointed. We can’t justify buying a new refrigerator only because of the water reservoir leak.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher is about 5 years old. I just loved it for the first two years, and then it never seemed to clean the dishes. So I rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher; then, it didnt even remove the soap. I washed them and then put them in the dishwasher to rinse them. About a month ago, it started to run on its own. It was just the top drawer. I could not shut it off. Now, both drawers will not stop running. I consider this a fire hazard, and this dishwasher should be recalled before someone dies in a fire. My husband is totally disabled and is scared to be in the house in case the thing catches fire. Presently, I cannot afford to replace it. So we have to put up with two drawers full of water, which is beginning to smell. I add a little bleach every day. This dishwasher is a complete piece of overpriced junk, and I will never buy anything made by KitchenAid or any of their subsidiaries.

We bought this Convection Oven/Microwave at the same time as our oven, KEBS107SS, and cooktop, KFGS 206VSS. After buying it at Sears and coming home and reading the reviews here, I was ready to cancel the purchase. Decided instead to purchase the 5 year extended warranty. Buying warranties is something we dont do. However, we were spending so much on these 3 appliances and after reading the complaints on the oven and microwave, we did purchase the 5 year warranty on the oven and the microwave. Less than 18 months later, the microwave went out. The service guy has been out twice with a 3rd trip scheduled. I have been without my microwave for 13 days and it will be another 10 waiting for the parts. The worst part was being without it while needing to cook for 25 during Christmas, which is not something Id expect to do with a microwave weve had less than 18 months. Next time we buy appliances, I will read reviews before we purchase and I will not purchase from KitchenAid. KitchenAid doesnt care about their consumers who buy their products. (That is a story Ill need to write on our cooktop that we didnt purchase the warranty on.) There are other appliances out there with better reviews. The KitchenAid appliances look nice, but the quality is not there. Our last microwave that was over the oven was not even broken when we replaced it and it was 15 years old without ever having a service call. It was GE and was the microwave that came with the house. It wasnt even an upgraded appliance! I dont write reviews, but I learned so much from reading these, and now that we are having problems with a relatively new appliance, I decided to write this for others.

KitchenAid Range Model # YKESA907PB00I bought a KitchenAid electric range in 2006, black in color. First time using it, the paint scraped off the top of the control panel from a pan, exposing the aluminum beneath the pan. I replaced the control panel face plate with a stainless steel on so that this wouldnt become an issue again. A few months later, the off button stopped working on the control panel. Yesterday, I opened the oven door and an error code came up telling me that I need to replace the control panel. This will be the third control panel on this piece of ** in 5 years. How pathetic is that! Appliances are supposed to last 20-30 years, not 5, especially after paying $1800 for it. I now know that the KitchenAid name is nothing but marketing hype. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid appliance and strongly urge others to do the same.

We remodeled our kitchen 9 years ago. We put in all KitchenAid appliances. Dishwasher, microwave, gas range and fridge. I have never been more disappointed with a company in my life. This week after numerous service calls we replaced the dishwasher with a Maytag. Your dishwasher did not clean dishes from day one. We suffered for 9 years. The paint and I stress PAINT on the stainless steel microwave wore off the handle after a year. The range has needed the control panel replaced 4 times. The off button fails every 2 years. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times. The last time the tech told us we had the freezer set too cold. Can you imagine? A freezer, too cold? There were many other service issues that I will not mention because I consider them normal wear and tear. These totaled about $1000 over 9 years, which I think is acceptable. The cost for the unacceptable repairs is in excess of $3500.

We spent $665.11 on a microwave that lasted 1 year and 2 months. As is does not fall into their 1 year warranty, they refuse to help or compensate in any way. We had the same issue with a $900 dishwasher we purchased from KitchenAid a couple of years ago. BOTH appliances stopped working after exactly 1 year! It would seem that they are in the business of manufacturing CHEAP China appliances that break shortly after their warranty so you must purchase another one.Customer service is no help at all. They just read from a script repeating the same sentence over and over again. Other companies like Black & Decker and GE have much better customer service and ability to help customers when their products do not work. Would shop from them instead! KitchenAid Model KDFE304DWH0 Dishwasher - We purchased this new dishwasher 3 months ago. Its very quiet and appears to clean dishes reasonably well, although we rinse our dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. The problem is that it doesnt dry dishes well, even when the Heat Dry option is selected. The flatware basket and its contents are especially wet, as are the sides and door of the dishwasher itself.Weve had a service technician out 3 times, and he doesnt seem to know what to do to fix this problem. The second time he came out he replaced the controller. That change didnt help the problem at all. The last time he had a KitchenAid engineer on the phone trying to come up with a solution. Still no solution. We suspect this is a design flaw rather than defective manufacturing problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem on this model?

2 months past a 2 year warranty and my back burner knob is stuck in locked position. When contacting customer service they had the audacity to tell me that there has been no reports of this type of thing ever happening, and if its not a burner problem the service repair and parts to fix the problem that shouldnt be happening in the first place is at my expense. Only the burner and control panel is covered for 5 years. The odd part about this is, this burner is barely ever used and has the least amount of wear and tear. This is clearly a manufacturing flaw and I made sure that the customer service representative knew that many people are having the same problem and is reporting it online and I fail to believe their claim that this has not been reported to them ever!!! Just because they refuse to document it doesnt change the fact that it is a known issue. I have not had the unfortunate experience of the glass breaking as others reported as of yet. But now that I know about it, I feel sick to my stomach. This was supposed to be my dream stove and really thought I was getting that stove with a KitchenAid product. As far as customer service, they sucked and lied to me about this issue and refused to acknowledge that the problem even exists. I think I will turn to Canada companies for my next dream stove who still care about product quality in the future. Not looking forward to all the upcoming difficulties as my stove succumbs to all the reported poor manufacturing design flaws. I feel sad and duped into buying a Whirlpool product that I hated from past ownership due to poor quality control and design flaws. Then finding out, Whirlpool is using the KitchenAid reputation of the past to sell inferior products that they know full well, will never live up to the superior products of KitchenAid.

I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in 2013, stainless steel model #KFIS29BBMSOO. Ive had numerous problems with it, many service calls. The first was the hose in the freezer splitting, which took 5 service calls to figure out, costing me for each one. Finally they said it was a recall item and I should not have had to pay. It was difficult to get my money back from the service people, took months. Now there is ice building up behind the drawers in the refrigerator, blocking the vent. There is about 2 of ice built up so the drawers do not close completely. Everything in the drawers freezes. When I called repair people suggested by Whirlpool. As soon as they heard the model number they refused to come. I called Whirlpool again, they said they have never heard of any problems like this, however, when I read all of the reviews listed here there are a lot of problems with these refrigerators. The repair guys said KitchenAid is one of the worst brands now, made so poorly, but so expensive. They finally found me a repairman, he is about 5 hours away, I told them he is not close, they said he probably knows someone closer to me, however the call is from 8:00-5:00, I have to wait. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. KitchenAid would do nothing. The motor was not installed right at the factory, they tried to blame it on the installers. Im fed up with KitchenAid, would never recommend it to anyone. I just cant believe they dont worry about their reputation.

Architect Series II Electric, free standing range: Overall, DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID product due to user error, we needed to replace the oven door seal/gasket. After searching online & by phone in our area and being told that part is not available, I called KitchenAid. As we had registered our appliance they were able to verify our range was only 5 years old. THEY NO LONGER HAVE GASKETS FOR THIS MODEL. No other model gaskets will fit this model. Instead of the anticipated $60.00 repair cost we were told all they could do was sell us a comparable model for employee cost... not including shipping, installation and haul off of our current unit. I blew MY gasket & told them absolutely not. Not one .00 over the stated cost!! The upshot? $700.00+ later, with a wait of over 2 weeks, we will get a new range. They had us over a barrel with no other options for the price. I am flabbergasted, frustrated, disappointed & without a working oven for over half a month. I have always thought of KitchenAid as a quality product & in fact have been happy with the unit. I cannot recommend KitchenAid any longer with its program of planned obsolescence. In November of 2010, we had just finished our $18,000 kitchen renovation. Our $2500.00 side-by-side with freezer drawer on the bottom is a beautiful stainless steel. Was delivered and installed by Lowes. That is when the fun began. After about 2 weeks, we noticed that the food in the freezer was soft to the touch but cold. We gathered the children and told them of the importance of making sure the drawer was closed all the way. After several days and several lessons in proper door closing procedure, I noticed that there was never any ice when I wanted a cold drink. I soon came to realize after the food in the top part of the new $2500.00 beauty became room temperature that there might be a problem beyond my children and proper door closing procedure. Then the real adventure began. I called the customer service number in my trusty manual and spoke to one of the clear speaking people in charge of handling such situations. I was told that they would send a repairman to look at the refrigerator and the appointment was scheduled. When asked what to do about all the food in my stainless steel showpiece, I was told that they are not responsible for food loss in this type of situation. Maybe one of your neighbors could store your food for the time being. Yes, maybe I could have a neighbor store food for my family of 5 until I could get my metal closet repaired (midnight trips to get a snack are now more exciting). I then had the pleasure of meeting a repairman who was more than happy to look at my wonderful now skunky-smelling top-of-the-line food storage device. Mr. Repairman started poking and tapping and doing repairman type things. I will need to go through this section by section to try to eliminate possible causes to the problem, Mr. Repairman told me. When I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, I was told, Minimum of 4 hours to dismantle, however many hours to do the repair once diagnosed and another 4 hours to re-assemble. Great, I said, My new state-of-the-art cold food making contraption will be spread out all over some repair shop for who knows how long?Oh no, said Mr. Repairman, We do it right here in your home. You what?????? You are going to take apart my appliance here, diagnose the problem, order the part, come back when the part comes in, repair it and then re-assemble it ????? Yes. How long are we talking about ???? 7 to 10 days if the parts come in. After a quick dial, I was back on with customer service telling them what I had just been told. Let me call the repair company, please hold. After a brief hold of about 20 to 30 min. I was told to have Mr. Repairman contact his office. When Mr. Repairman was done with his call, he printed out a slip from his little portable printer and told me that his office and KitchenAid determined that the repair was going to cost too much and that the unit should be replaced as totaled. Wow, what a relief. I was now put in contact with a customer service rep to arrange for my nice new right out of the box stainless steel replacement. Within 2 weeks, will have the new one delivered. What? 2 weeks? What am I to do for 2 weeks without a refrigerator? You can rent one until your new one comes, I was told. Anyway after my waiting period and lots of take-out, my new ice box arrives and is installed to numerous cheers from the kiddies. We thanked Mr. Deliveryman who left and we went on with our lives... until about 2 and a half months later. Honey, did you leave the freezer door open? Everything is soft. And there is no ice. Ring, ring. Hello, customer service. How may I help you? After an even more entertaining episode and even more trips from Mr. Repairman who used the term deja vu, it seems like I have been here before (long term memory is not an issue here). Mr. Repairman said that this was common and that a part needed to be replaced. He didnt have the part but it will be ordered. How long are we talking about? 7 to 10 days. Well eventually Mr. Repairman came back and replaced this little rubber part that lets condensation drip onto a pan so that it can evaporate. Problem solved... NOPE!!!!!! Several more visits from Mr. Repairman and several times telling him that yes, he had been here before KitchenAid decided that this unit also was too much to repair and authorized a replacement. And yes, it was going to be another 2 weeks. At this point I said, Hold on. Why would I want this thing replaced a third time? Can I get a different model? No, that is not an option. 2 weeks later, my brand new stainless steel right out of the box replacement replacement food keeper cold thingamagig makes its grand entrance. Mr. Deliveryman who also say it feels like he has been here before installs and again leaves. Wow what a journey. All this just to keep food from going bad even though twice it did. And after all this, I am still sane. I liked the refrigerator when I saw it in the store. It looked beautiful. Now all is going well and we still have our KitchenAid and it looks like everything is finally going to be... Oh wait I forgot to tell you that I just got off the phone with customer service because unit number three is doing the exact same thing. If anyone is interested in a stainless steel boat anchor, please let me know because I have one made by the good people at KitchenAid.

My fridge is 8 years old and on extended warranty. The compressor blew and they tell me they do not have the part to fix it. They said they would give me a three hundred dollar discount on a new fridge. Unbelievable! The cost to fix it was going o be $400.00. Not my fault they do not have the part. I will fight this until I get a replacement. In the meantime it will be up to four days for the team to get back to me. Its summer, I do not have a fridge. Never buy this KitchenAid fridge (includes Whirlpool and Jenn-Air) product. I have had many issues since I purchased it.

I wish I had read reviews here before we bought our stove! We have a 2003 KitchenAid (KGSC308LSSO) -- $1400 and change. It has fussy controls and hard to clean; Ive never liked the thing. The self-cleaner stopped working years ago; weve just lived without it. Then last week the stove was preheating to 350F, and the inner glass window spontaneously broke. My husband called it in; gave them the model number and all other information.Today I have to take a half day off of work. The usual response, well come between 1-5 PM routine; around 3 PM a repairman called to say he would be coming by to look at the stove, and put in an order for any needed parts. What the **? We need a window. Its going to cost me half a day of work, plus the cost of a service call, or two calls, to have some guy who sounded pretty incompetent on the phone tell me that we need a new window? No more KitchenAid in this house.

We purchased all new appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in Aug 2017.
We purchased all new appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in Aug 2017. The refrigerator quit making ice in Jan 2019. I had a repairman come out and replace the freezers fan motor. That fixed the problem, I thought, but now the ice cream in the freezer is super soft. It costs $115 for the repair guy to just come out to diagnose the problem. The last issue cost me almost $400. Now I have to have the thing looked at again. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances because we thought they were able to last with fewer repairs, guess we were wrong. The refrigerator was a major purchase but to need to call out for repairs again is unbelievable.

Our KitchenAid Double Oven has had consistently horrible problems with both upper and lower door hinges for the last 10 years. Thank God we opted for an extended appliance warranty because after every holiday with lots of use, we need to have the hinges replaced on one or both oven doors. Our KitchenAid stainless steel 5 burner built-in cooktop with Downdraft Vent has also needed replacement four times in the last 10 years and has been repaired five times in between the replacements due to the burners failure to light, or the burning of the bottom of our pots and pans due to burner malfunctions needing the burners to be removed and replaced.

Purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 5 years ago (# Kuds30Fxss4) and I continue to have issues, which now the dishes are suddenly not getting clean. Called the hotline and was told they never heard of this problem before that the top shelf (which the rollers had to be replaced in December which I was told it was a defect and I had to pay for the replacement) are not getting clean and now I opened it this morning and now there is rust on the bottom of the door... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

As has been noted in other reviews, KitchenAid has issues with the ice make
As has been noted in other reviews, KitchenAid has issues with the ice makers not functioning correctly and prematurely breaking. Not even three years into owning the refrigerator, the ice maker has now completely burned up. Brought the issue to KitchenAid/Whirlpools attention and they just dodged questions about the issue being a known issue and inquiries if there have been other reports of the problem (which there obviously have been, as one can see clearly in the reviews). Instead, they tried to get us to contact the seller and ask them to cover the repair. $2400.00 for a refrigerator is not cheap... We wont be buying KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, or any other brand under the Whirlpool umbrella after this experience. (We have several KitchenAid appliances, as we used to think they were a good company.)
