Miele Announces Plans For U.S. Production Facility

Miele, manufacturer of premium domestic appliances, has announced plans to open its first North American production facility in the United States.
Miele is currently evaluating several locations within the U.S.
to ensure the location meets the objectives of the company.
The goal is to begin production at the end of 2024, and the workforce will grow to 150 employees by the end of 2025.
We are excited that the U.S. has been selected for this expansion, and we are eager for the opportunity to be responsible for producing and distributing our German-engineered and crafted appliances here for the North American market,” said Jan Heck, President and CEO, Miele USA.
This new facility will greatly benefit our customers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
The new Miele facility will produce premium home appliances relevant to the North American marketplace, particularly built-in cooking appliances and Ranges.
The new production plant will further expand the U.S.
footprint of the brand, which also opened the Emerging Technologies Lab in Boston, MA in 2022 – another testament to the pioneering landscape.
“As a global company, we look to our markets as a way to inspire future growth and innovation,” said Dr.
Axel Kniehl, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales at the Miele Group.
“Especially, the U.S. is a very important market for Miele, and we feel this is a necessary long-term investment that will ensure the strength of the Miele brand.
Miele is proud to make further investments in North America and provide greater access to premium German cooking appliances with shorter lead times, said Dr. Stefan Breit, Executive Director, Technology at the Miele Group.
At the same time, we save CO2 by reducing the transportation across the Atlantic Ocean.
Including the new plant, the Miele Group’s international production network will now comprise of a total of 16 plants, eight of them in Germany and one each in Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, and the U.S.
In addition to these, there are also two plants belonging to the Italian medical technology subsidiary Steelco Group.
