Can someone help before I break something?

Question from user DrChillmatic at Appliances at reddit.com.

Answer:

If you mean the grate that holds the filter in place, I use a toilet brush and shove it inside. The cover cannot be removed. Once you loosen the lens with the toilet brush and close the door and run it for a few minutes, it'll blow everything out.
