What is the best way to use the dishwasher
You probably don't think about it much, but there is a proper way to use a dishwasher. Most people will load everything into the machine and let it run, except the utensils, which have their slot.
If you want to get your dishes thoroughly clean, here are a few steps to follow.
- Pre-rinse: It's not mandatory, but pre-rinsing your dishes is a good idea, especially if the dishes will sit in the dishwasher until you start it. But if you will use it right away, you can get away with scraping off the food.
- Secure plastics: Plastics can be tossed around in the dishwasher. To avoid this from happening, make sure they are secured. Not only to prevent them from turning over and filling with water but also to make sure they don't contact the heating elements.
- Avoid stacking items: When you stack the dishes, the sprayer will not clean the dish that is on top.
- Separate utensils: Always keep stainless steel, silver and silverplated utensils away from each other. If they come in contact, a reaction can occur, and the silver will pit. You should also always place them in the utensil rack. Forks should always go tines up so they can be adequately cleaned.
- Dishes always go in the bottom rack: Place the dishes face down so the sprayer can get to them. Pots, pans and other cookware should go in on an angle. Flat plans should be placed along the side and back racks.
- Cups and glasses: Place the glasses between the tines and angle the cups to keep water from collecting on the tops. Be careful when loading wine glasses. Do not let them bump together, and make sure they sit securely in the racks to prevent them from breaking.
- Detergent: When loading detergent packs, remember to place them in the dispenser and not at the bottom of the dishwasher, as they will wash away during the prewash cycle. You should also store the detergent in a cool, dry spot.
If you follow these steps each time you use your washing machine, you're guaranteed to have a machine full of clean dishes. And when the time comes for repairs or replacement for your dishwasher or any other appliances, Appliance Helpers is here for you.
