Dishwasher Troubleshooting

Smell  
Smell of new machine: 
The smell of a new machine disappears after a few wash cycles with detergent. 
Filters are dirty: 
Clean all fi lters as described in this manual. 
Dirty dishes standing in the machine for a few days without being washed: 
Remove coarse dirt under running water and run the Rinse and Hold program every two days without detergent. 
Dirty door gasket: 
Regularly clean the door gasket with a damp cloth to remove food particles and other debris. Use a gentle household cleaner for the outside and the door seals, and rinse thoroughly. 

Milky appearance or rainbow on the glasses (glass corrosion) 
Excessive use of detergent when water hardness is low: 
Add a smaller amount of detergent. 
Compare the water hardness level setting on the dishwasher against the stated values from the local water supplier. 
When water hardness is low (below 7 degree of hardness or 106 parts per million), 
DO NOT use salt even if your dishwasher has a water softener. 

Rust stains, destruction of the surface 
The lid of the salt container is not closed securely. Salt loss (models with salt container): 
Salt can destroy metal surfaces and cause rust damage. 
Check whether the lid of the salt container is firmly closed. Use the funnel to pour in special salt.  
Begin the Rinse and Hold program right after filling in salt. After the program is complete, check whether the lid may have loosened. 
Food leftovers are staying on the dishes for too long: 
Remove coarse dirt under running water and carry out the Rinse and Hold program every two days without detergent. 
The machine is not grounded properly: 
Check the grounding of the system. Static electricity may eat holes into metal and cause irreparable damages to surfaces. 
Cutlery parts from low-grade rust-free steel: 
Rust on such items cannot be avoided. Cutlery or dishes of this type are not suited for the dishwasher. 
Dish items with rust stains: 
Rusty dishes may “infect” other items. Cutlery or dishes of this type are not suited for the dishwasher. 

Water remains inside the machine after the rinse cycle. 
Clean all filters as described in this manual. Ensure that the drain hose is properly placed and open. 

Foam 
The dishes are pre-washed by hand with a large amount of dish detergent: 
Dishes do not need to be pre-washed. Coarse dirt may be removed with a dishcloth, or you may hold the dishes under running water. 
Rinse agent has accidentally leaked into the machine: 
If rinse agent has been spilled during refilling, remove the agent using a paper cloth or sponge. 
The cover of the rinse agent dispenser is not closed securely: 
Always take care to ensure that the lid is closed after refilling the rinse agent dispenser.

Range Troubleshooting

The oven is not cooking evenly
Do not use a tin or tray larger than 14 inches wide by 12 inches deep. 
If you are cooking a large item, be prepared to turn it round during cooking.
If two racks are used, check that space has been left for the heat to circulate. When a baking sheet is put into the oven, make sure it is placed centrally on the rack.
Check that the door seal is not damaged and that the door catch is adjusted so that the door is held firmly against the seal.
A dish of water when placed on the rack should be the same depth all over. (For example, if it is deeper at the back, then the back of the range should be raised up or the front lowered). If the range is not level arrange for your supplier to level it for you.

Current Operated Ground Fault Circuit Breaker
Where the range installation is protected by a 30 milliamp sensitivity residual current device, the combined use of your range and other domestic appliances may occasionally cause nuisance tripping. In these instances the range circuit may need to be protected by fitting 100 milliamp device. This work should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Oven not coming on when turned on manually
Is the power on? Is the clock illuminated?
If not there may be something wrong with the power supply. Is the range supply on at the isolator switch?
Has the time of day been set?
If using the Multi function oven have you set a cooking function?
Is the key symbol showing in the display?

Broiler not cooking properly
Are you using the pan and grid supplied with the range? 
Is the pan being used on the runners, not the door of the compartment? 
Is the broiler tray pushed fully back to stop?

The oven light is not working
The bulb has probably burnt out. You can buy a replacement bulb from a good electrical shop. Ask for a 15 watt 125 - 130 volt lamp, FOR OVENS. It must be a special bulb, heat resistant to 570 Fahrenheit.

Oven temperature getting hotter as the range gets older
If turning the knob down has not worked or only worked for a short time then you may need a new thermostat. This should be fitted by a service person.

Steam is coming from the oven
When cooking foods with a high water content there may be some steam visible at the rear grille. Take care when opening the oven door, as there may be a momentary puff of steam when the oven door is opened. Stand well back and allow any steam to disperse.

The oven fan is noisy
The note of the oven fan may change as the oven heats up, this is perfectly normal.

Refrigerator Troubleshooting

Appliance not cold enough 
Control set too warm. 
Content temperature not stabilized. 
Excessive usage or prolonged door openings. 
Airflow to front grille blocked. 
Door gasket not sealing properly. 
Adjust temperature colder. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. 
Allow temperature to stabilize for at least 24 hours. 
Airflow must not be obstructed to front grille.  
Replace door gasket. 

Appliance too cold 
Control set too cold 
Door gasket not sealing properly. 
Adjust temperature warmer. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.
