American Standard Heat Pump Model Gold16
Gold 16
The Gold 16 Heat Pump is a product offered by American Standard, a reputable manufacturer in the HVAC industry. The Gold 16 is known for its energy efficiency, reliable performance, and balanced comfort. Here are some key features and benefits of the Gold 16 Heat Pump:
Energy Efficiency: The Gold 16 Heat Pump is designed to deliver energy-efficient heating and cooling. It has a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating of up to 16, which indicates its cooling efficiency, and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) rating of up to 9.5, which indicates its heating efficiency. These ratings suggest that the heat pump can provide significant energy savings compared to less efficient models.
Two-Stage Cooling and Heating: The Gold 16 utilizes a two-stage compressor that can operate at two different capacity levels based on the demand for heating or cooling. This allows the system to modulate its output, matching it more closely to the required load. The two-stage operation contributes to improved comfort, reduced temperature swings, and enhanced energy efficiency.
Quiet Operation: The Gold 16 Heat Pump is engineered for quiet operation. It includes features such as an advanced fan system and a sound insulator for the compressor to minimize operational noise. This ensures a peaceful indoor environment.
Durable Design: The Gold 16 is built with durability in mind. It features a galvanized steel cabinet that provides protection against corrosion and external elements. The coil is made of corrosion-resistant aluminum for long-lasting performance.
Compatibility with Thermostats and Control Systems: The Gold 16 Heat Pump is compatible with a range of thermostats and control systems, allowing you to choose the one that suits your preferences and needs. It can integrate with advanced control features to optimize comfort and energy efficiency.
Warranty: American Standard typically offers warranty coverage for their products, including the Gold 16 Heat Pump. The specific warranty details may vary, so it's recommended to check with the manufacturer or an authorized dealer for the warranty terms and conditions.
It's important to consult with an authorized American Standard dealer or HVAC professional to determine if the Gold 16 Heat Pump is suitable for your specific needs and installation requirements. They can provide more detailed information and help you make an informed decision.

American Standard Heat Pump Model Gold16
The water heater does what it is supposed to do. I had never installed a water heater before but it was relatively easy for what most pay people to do. The ignition electrodes had fallen off in shipping so it was frustrating to find it didn't work for a few minutes. I eventually got it all sorted. My only gripe with the unit itself is that the water fluctuates temperature when it powers down while still providing hot water. I will probably figure it out, but the water heater does it's job otherwise. I have tested it with two showers, dishwasher and clothes washer going at the same time. I chose this model for the price mostly, so it's what I expected. If I had the choice, I would never go back to a tank again but I would get a better water heater so the temperature stays within a few degrees.
The American Standard furnace was installed in my house about three years ago and runs without any problems whatsoever. It’s efficient, quiet and heats up well. I couldn’t ask for a better furnace.
I was and am still using my 4 gal under sink Bosh unit but 4 gal wasn't enough. Put this 12 gal baby right behind sink in another room and piped it all through both water heaters and now have 16 gal instant hot water. Would highly recommend this water heater. Just hope it lasts.
About four years ago, I had a 91 % American Standard furnace installed in my newly constructed home. As of today, I had never had it serviced yet it works as well as it did when I first purchased it. These furnaces are also quite popular in my neighborhood. As yet, I haven’t heard anyone complaining. I can’t express the joy of having a quiet, dependable and efficient furnace enough.
So far so good. Semi difficult install as some of the fittings required adapters to work with a standard water heater setup. Nothing several trips to the hardware store couldn't solve. Unit did not fire up the first time after install. Error 11 came on even though the unit had gas water and power. Opened the unit up and found that the AC converter had fallen lose and disconnected. Also a pipe was loose. Once these were fixed it fired right up.
Great heat pump in terms of efficiency. Costs essentially nothing to run on AC mode. Heatings costs are much lower than prior heat pump. This would absolutely be a 5 star review except for one thing. Every time the outside temperature goes below 5 degrees, the compressor shuts off permanently. The only way to get the compressor to run again is to power cycle the entire unit. Even if the outside temperature hits 50 degrees, the compressor will not cycle on. This has now happened 5 years in a row. Reported to dealer, who could find no solution. This one issue means that one month every year my bill goes up by over $200 for the month in which this happens (to about $500 from a normal winter high of $300). Obviously this is a controls problem that American Standard has no interest in addressing, which is too bad as it otherwise a nearly perfect unit.
By working smarter, not harder, American Standard furnaces are tailored to use just the right amount of energy for your home. Available in a wide array of options, the brand ensures that they have a potential furnace for almost every Canadian home, no matter the conditions or budget.
The most efficient, quiet and reasonably priced on the market, American Standard Central Air Conditioners boast an impressive spec sheet.
We’ve only had our new system installed for 4 months but it’s been great! We purchased our new home without getting an inspection first and had to quickly get a new HVAC system installed and this was highly recommended by our tech. When we did get around to getting a home inspection our inspector even commented on the high quality of American Standard products so hopefully they hold up as expected!
I had my old American Standard furnace replaced a few months ago with a newer model of the same brand. It was still working fine, and the only reason I had it replaced was because I knew that it was quite old. I found the serial number after it was removed and did a search, only to realize that it was more than thirty years old. Quite phenomenal! I hope that the newer model functions as well.
Our heat pump was installed in early in 2022 and has proven to be dependable and quiet. It's greatest gift has been the air conditioning that makes our home livable during those "dog days of summer." Our savings have ranged from 25% less to 38% less over 2021. Our only regret is that we did not have it installed sooner.
I love this water heater. I installed it myself. I have experience in plumbing, so I decided to save money by installing it myself. The install was what I expected since I have installed these before. This water heater is very quite, so I was surprised to hear about all of the people saying it is too loud. It is very quiet. You can barely hear it if you are next to it. In fact, I thought there was something wrong with it since it was so quiet. I highly recommend this water heater, you will save money and space.
I have a small towel closet behind the shower and chose this water heater because it would just fit in the small space. Was concerned it may be too small. Replaced the shower head with a Delta saver model and with the saver head I can take a comfortable shower and there is still plenty of hot water when I'm done. The project ended up being a huge improvement over the old water heater that was installed about as far away from the center of the house and the shower as it could have been. It has been so nice to have instant hot water for the shower instead of waiting and waiting for hot water with the old setup. The unit was well made and installed with no problems. The unit was designed to be used as a point of use but I removed the old water heater and installed a cloths dryer in it's place. The little water heater is providing hot water to the kitchen, main bath and washer. As long as it gets time to recover it has been able to do it all. Wish I had installed it years ago
I had a York for a heat pump 42yrs it started to nickel and dime us the last 2yrs Bought a 14 seer A.Std so far, I own this for 5months, and it's already broke down. And Boss services told me it would be at least 2 weeks to get the parts (that's unacceptable and also told us when we bought this unit it would save us on our electricity bill) not true in fact our bill has double since they installed unit. and the day they did the install they had to get not 1, not2, but 3 a/c coils because they wouldn't hold a charge, it was a disaster from the get go. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER NOR WOULD I RECOMEND THEM $10K DOWN THE DRAIN, had to call the factory to get any help. That's Boss Services of Benton Harbor, Michigan it seems this is how they treat somebody that had a stroke and doesn't work, SHAMEFUL, ABSOLULTELY SHAMEFUL it's the dead of winter and it seems they don't care just the opposite of their commercials. Buyer Beware-should have bought a YORK instead.
It keeps the utility bill low, hasn’t broken down and cools the house well even when it is overly hot. That is all it takes to make a good ac in my books. I have had it for 2 years now and not a single repair has been required. Let’s see how much longer this machine has left in it but I have a feeling it’s going to be a long time.
I had the six ultras 95 installed in my home two years ago by a certified installer. It has been running amazingly since then. I have devoted myself to yearly servicing and maintenance. I also change the filters according to usage. I use a Nest thermostat to warn me when to change filters based on usage. I also constantly check the water lines for leaks. My advice to any owner of this product is to take maximum care.
We replaced our old air handler a few months ago, when replacing the heat pump. It works well, although it’s much louder than the unit it replaced. But it has had zero issues, and the house was comfortable last summer, with 90+ degree days, and with now freezing weather outside. Happy with our purchase.
American Standard makes good HVAC equipment so as long as it is installed properly by a competent HVAC contractor. If so, you shouldn’t have too much to worry about. It is also good to have regular maintenance performed on any type of HVAC equipment as things tend to wear out overtime. American Standard and Trane share the same type of engineering that goes into their equipment.
American Standard offers an efficient variety of central air conditioners, available in different tonnages, at affordable and competitive prices. Regardless of the unit you go for, you can’t go wrong with American Standard, in terms of cost-effectiveness.
High-quality air conditioning units at an affordable price means that American Standard is accessible to pretty much everyone and offers something that most people would be satisfied with. Though there aren’t many premium models past a 22 SEER, the focus on cooling and the breadth of the lineup means that Canadians stay reliably cool during a hot summer.
