My dryer of 7 years broke down so I purchased another from a different store different brand (new). The purchased was made the end of October. This dryer was terrible at drying my clothes. It took forever for one load to dry. Finally it started taking more time. Finally it went out. It had a warranty but couldnt get the company the warranty was with to fix it so the furniture store I made the purchase with sent me a new one and this new dryer isnt any good either. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BRAND TO ANYONE AT ALL... PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. PURCHASE A DIFFERENT BRAND..

We bought an Amana washer in February 2015. We bought the biggest headache ever. Right before the manufacturer warranty went out we had our first major issue, the washer would not drain and spin. They came out to fix that. Three months later no water would go in. They came out to fix that. A few months later it was back to no spin and drain. A few months later we had to call them back and the leveler was out. Now I am calling them back it is so loud you cant stand it. Do not purchase from Amana. It has never really washed the clothes. I have to hand wash baby clothes before wash or food residue is still on the clothes.

I had an Amana gas stove/oven, and replaced approximately 4 thermostats over 5 years. I decided to get rid of it and get a new stove oven. When I went to buy the new oven, I thought maybe my Amana oven was somehow a lemon. Knowing that Amana used to mean quality, I stupidly bought another Amana gas stove/oven, which is a better model, and now more digital, and have had it since last fall. I used it the other day, and the same thing happened as it did with the other one I had, when the temperature reaches 400. All of a sudden, it ignores the 400 and keeps rising. I only knew it was happening, because my food started to smell too hot, and when I looked at the oven thermometer I have inside, it said 600 degrees. I hate that I cannot trust Amana anymore, and would really like to return this product and buy anything other than Amana.

I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer from McKinneys Appliance in September 2014. Sometimes it works - but more often it does not. It does not clean the clothes, but it does get them wet. I put a load in, press the start button, and it sits there - finally a ding and the door locks and the cycle goes directly to spin - and no water in the tub. The circuit board has been replaced twice - the repair lasts one month, and the problem comes back again. I contacted Amana and waited 6 weeks for a repair person from Appliance Repair - the company was in another city.

Then I buy a Amana washer and have had to reset it so many times. Its terrible, the warranty dont last. Its costing me more to get it fixed than it costed in the store. Now I see why it was so cheap to buy. I am so pissed. I would not refer anyone to this product. I will never buy Amana products again.

I had my washer for barely over 2 years before it started to unbalance. Now less than 2.5 yes after purchase I have to replace it. According to the Amana repair representative for my area I needed a new balance ring and new suspension. He said the balance ring would cost over 200 dollars, but my research show the average cost being 40 dollars. However, with the price of labor the total repairs would be a minimum of 170 dollars on a machine that only cost 300. I realize this was a bargain appliance but we never overloaded it and it should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. The short life expectancy of modern appliances is ludicrous. I recommend avoiding this brand or buying the extended warranty. I just hope the dryer lasts.

First and foremost DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA anything!!! I made that huge mistake when purchasing my oven and bottom freezer refrigerator in 2004. Compressor was dead within 5yrs of purchase. The stove was and is a nightmare!! Of course this stove is no longer made and good luck trying to find parts. This stove retail was approximately 1100.00 middle of the road price but for all the error codes it throws out, it makes one think how dumb was I to even THINK about buying this model or brand!!Replaced two oven sensors, temp regulators now door does not shut correctly therefore heat escapes from oven and get ready because when that happens the timer/clock control board melts!!! Really???!!! AMANA is blind to this and will ignore all of your complaints!!! You might as well just hold a match to your money when it comes to AMANA!! One will have difficulty finding parts for a discontinued model on anything but this is how AMANA conducts business!!! I totally understand with time all things need to be replaced and simply run its course. However, 4 to 5 yrs life expectancy is max on all AMANA anything! Just tell yourself AMANA is no longer being made and save yourself the aggravation.

Purchased an Amana washer nine years ago, and the washer is only used once
Purchased an Amana washer nine years ago, and the washer is only used once a week. And you would think it would last longer. Were talking about two loads a week. It will cost $300 to repair. What has happened to the craftsmanship of some of our appliances? And I have noted that if I had a family, it would have malfunctioned sooner, but if its only me, it would take longer. All of the complaints that I discovered so far are mostly about the seal and the leaking water from the bottom. So I spent $75 to have a repairman tell me it would cost $300. How can Amana continue to manufacture these washers without having a recall? The model number is NAV2330AWW, serial number NO1004341EG. I have seen this model mentioned in several complaints. I will never buy another Amana brand item. It is not fair when a company has existed forever and continues to manufacture poor quality products. Who can you trust, who stands behind their name saying we are the best, who knowingly manufactures and sells a product with a short service life? That is Amana. It is all about the profit and not about a positive reputation. It is my fault for not Googling about Amanas complaints regarding their washers. It would have saved me at least $75 for the diagnostic repair fee.

We are a single couple with few loads to run. After 3 years our Amana front load washer circuit board went out. It was replaced with a three hundred dollar new one. 3 years after the replacement was installed, the replacement went haywire. This is a circuit board part that everyone says is no longer available because the manufacturer doesnt want to replace anymore. So, long story short: Original cost of new Amana front load originally: $560. Cost of first replacement circuit board $385. (Replacement part lasted 2 years). New cost to replace our Amana washer $600. New cost to haul off Amana washer $50. Wow! My total $1,595. It used to be that Amana was a great name. Ill never buy from them again.

I purchased an Amana refrigerator on 3/22/2010, model # ABB2222FEB3, serial #K00561248. Purchase price of the unit is $1,225.10. Total repair bill is $530. I called Amana customer service dept to learn while they stand behind their product, they will not pay for repair. So products shoddy workmanship, lack of quality control are the customers problem. Never buy another Amana product in this lifetime.

We bought an Amana Refrigerator in May 2005. It is now 6 1/2 years old and began making noises recently It died last night and the repair will be about $800 or more. This fridge was working fine until recently. Over the past two years my parents and my wifes parents both bought this same model as they liked ours. Hopefully theirs wont die as well. We called a repairman who said that, that year (2005), there were problems with the compressors. From reading other complaints it seems that it is not limited to that year. From researching different refrigerators last night, it appears that the Amana, Maytag and Whirlpool are all exactly the same refrigerator with just a different nameplate on them. Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and Maytag had already bought Amana prior to that. So much for Amish people in Iowa making a decent appliance. We are disappointed in Amana. We had my grandmothers refrigerator when I was in high school. It must have been 35 years old and ran fine.

I called Amana customer service to find out how to return the brand new part. I was told to send back in same box with a return authorization that would be emailed to me. I went to the post office and mailed per the instructions given to me but instead of it costing me the same $7.95 that Amana paid to ship to me, I was charged $29.15!!!! My entire refund is only $51.63 so half of my refund is being absorbed in returning because Amana will not provide a return label!!In the end my refund will equal half of the $47.00 price of the part alone???? When I called the parts department customer service they smugly advised, Well you have to return in our box but you could have shopped around for the best shipping rate???? This is a scam and why Amana/Whirlpool is going down in flames! Cheap shots like this to innocent customers who have been loyal to their brand for years. I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. Machine stopped draining and started showing error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman, and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said because the relay was encased in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give the part number, he said that the part was on a nationwide backorder and would be $400.00 when it became available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the part W10273828 is in fact on back order and no one has one. It seems that this means that this part is a definite weak link, and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.

Washer & dryer Mod NTW4705E WD and NED4705EWO - Both appliances are the most worthless piles of junk I have ever paid over $400 each for. Washer was delivered with a bad master control board so the Amana repairman said. After replacing and using the set twice, I determined the washer doesnt agitate enough to get the dirt out. It makes an awful grinding noise while agitating (normal per repairman). The water levels are too low and after rinsing, the spin cycle is insufficient to remove the water. Clothes are still sopping wet. This adds to the drying time of the somewhat inefficient dryer. On high heat, it still takes 120 minutes to dry a normal, medium sized load of clothes. And YES, the dryer is properly vented with a new, unobstructed vent which exits to the outdoors. They are both just cheap, Chinese CRAP!!

Stay away from Amana. The cheap, plastic handle on my 2-year old Amana dryer broke off. I sent them an email asking them to replace it, as most reputable companies would happily do so for a customer. They took several days to respond and then asked me for the date of purchase. When I provided that date, they replied saying that they would not replace the part as the warranty had expired. They then directed me to their replacement parts webpage, where they were asking for $32.49 for a replacement part. Within 30 seconds, I found the same part being sold on Amazon for $4.99. So not only are they unhelpful, but they are trying to gouge the very customers who purchased their products in the first place. I will not be purchasing any Amana products in the future and highly recommend that you do the same.

A strong nasty burning chemical smell was coming from the appliance and making me and everything in the house stink. Plus, the smell was making me sick, irritating my nose and eyes. The repairman replaced the relay on the compressor and told me that would take care of the problem. Well, 1 year later, we are experiencing the very same problem. We bought an Amana oven from Home Depot in July 2010. We did not purchase the extended warranty package. You would think when you buy an appliance that you would get, at least, five plus years out of it. Well, in September 2011, our oven stopped working. We had the gas company come to check out the gas that we smelled. He said that the fire ignition is no good. So, we are two months past the warranty and this oven needs to be repaired. Needless to say, we are not happy and the gas representative said that he would never get an Amana oven. The consequences are that we have to pay someone to fix this and it will probably cost about $250. Does Amana make these to break down on purpose after the warranty period ends? Seems like an incredible coincidence to me. We may just get a new oven at this point and it will not be an Amana. When you purchase an item like this, you should have the confidence that it will give you a decent amount of time and 14 months is not acceptable.

My refrigerator was just 11 months old when it started falling apart. All the plastic pieces, shelves, meat bin, crisper drawer, cheese drawer, door shelves, etc., began cracking, splitting and falling. I complained to Amanda and was told all these pieces are cosmetic, and didnt affect the operation of the refrigerator. After several complaints and letters, I was sent, as a 1 time courtesy, one shelf, and one drawer which also promptly broke. Tonight the door bin fell off taking another bin with it. A jar of pickles landed on my toe, and a bottle of hot sauce broke, and a cherry soda exploded. I would say that affects the function of the product. I also have a Whirlpool (same company) microwave and the plastic door cracked and split all over. Again, I was told it was just cosmetic. Never have I had such poor quality in a product that cost so much!

We purchased a basic model Amana refrigerator A9RXNMFWB01 in June 2010, delivered in July 2010. The refrigerator was making a lot of noise the past few months. We didnt realize the fan was not working properly. When the fan quit, the food was still frozen in the top freezer. But the refrigerator compartment would not go below 50 degrees. I called for the Amana technician. A & E couldnt make it over until the following week, so we called a local repairman. $182 later, new fan, the refrigerator is fixed. Its only 15 months old! Our old Amana is still running since 1997. We have never had troubles with a refrigerator in our 35 years of buying appliances. Now I see on reviews of compressors going bad. Appliances are not made well and we will be lucky to get 8 years out of this Amana with cheap parts. There go our landfills. What can we buy that wont cost hundreds to fix? We have never had to buy extended warranty. This is a money maker for Amana (Maytag, Whirlpool). It’s a lesson learned. I’m very dissatisfied. I feel we deserve to be compensated for this breakdown, especially since it acted up during the 1st year of warranty. We shall see if Amana can make it right.

My Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, which is about 6 years old, broke down in November 2011. The circuit board was the reason as advised by the service man. I declined the offer of a 3-year warranty and agreed to pay for a new circuit board--about $350 if not more. I planned on changing the fridge in any case so I agreed to pay. This April, five months had gone by and the freezer is all iced up. The upper section of the fridge is not blowing in cool air so I called the service people again. The service man opens the freezer, takes away the back panel, uses the blow dryer, opens the back area and tells me its the circuit board again.A new circuit board in 5 months at a cost of 1,200 shekels? No way! How does a reputable company like Amana supply circuit boards that last for only 5 months? Something was very wrong. I asked the service manager over the telephone to leave the old circuit board and I would send it to Amana to see if it is an authentic Amana spare part or some phony Chinese part that breaks down every 6 months. The service man told me to buy warranty. I asked him if he was an insurance sales man or a refrigerator repair man. It seems that they are big on selling warranties because all spare parts are fakes, faulty or simply of bad quality.Anyhow, I got very angry and said there is no chance that I will pay another $350-$400 for another circuit board, when in another 6 months, I will have to change it again. But because I have warranty, then I will get it for free. Still, it doesnt solve the problem of the circuit board failing every 6 months-- bad quality, made in China. Then, I got my circuit board for free. The service man took the old board away, with the unmarked box and left as fast as he could--suspicious. I can almost say for sure that the circuit board placed inside the fridge is not an original spare part and that seems to be the way the service people work here in Israel. I will let you all know in another 6 months. But Amana is no longer a choice of mine. I think I will buy Smeg. My stove and dishwasher are, so far, problem free.Amana is a big disappointment. This customer complaint should have a Facebook page. You would probably reach a lot more people faster and maybe then would these big corporations think twice about selling their faulty, low-quality appliances.

I recently moved into a new apartment and the washer and dryer had already been used by the previous tenants. I used the washer with a small load on a cold cycle, and when the load was finished, my clothes were still DRY! Some of the clothes had wet spots but for the most part, my clothes looked like someone just splashed water on them. I had to redo the cycle on a larger load setting. My clothes came out FULL of someone elses lint. The dryer. Ohhh, the dryer. I then place my linty clothes in the dryer to see if they will be removed. I do a full 60 minute cycle. I open up the dryer when it is finished and my load is warm, but still damp! After 60 minutes on hot! I have to run the dryer 4 TIMES to dry a load of laundry. Needless to say, the landlord was called and he is replacing, but God, please dont let him buy another set of Amana washer and dryer. Please!!!

Amana microwave brand new lasted 17 months. Cheaper to replace than have it fixed - labor and parts service call. Amana dishwasher brand new had it four years. First issue was the clasp on door. When you close it it broke. Second issue water did not drain out and no power. Fuse need to be replaced plus the mother board needed to be replaced. Labor parts and service call cheaper to replace. Last appliance gas oven. When you turned oven on to preheat it would never reach the desired temp. I would turn oven off and turn it back on and temp. would be what I had set it at. The.problem was the.panel at the top of oven where the clock and temp settings are that needed to be replaced. Same thing with parts, labor and service call. I feel like the quality of the.product was poor. When we bought our home in March 2011 the home had been remodeled and the appliances were new and still had the tape on them. We have had to replace all the appliances and the new appliances are not Amana. Thank you.

This was the worst purchase Ive ever made, and will never buy another Amana or Maytag product. Buyers beware! Amana now wants $65 for a house call, plus labor and parts or $312 for a one year warranty which would include this repair. How disgusting is this to pay that much for an appliance and have it work for approximately 18 months, and then have the manufacturer want additional money it repair this lemon. After reading some of the reviews, I would never pay an Amana repair man and or buy Amana again. The consumer should be able to get relief from companies like this.

I was the lucky one chosen by a bad quality control department to miss the 30-day requirement for defects. They call it a cosmetic issue. My new side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator (matching the range) has a clearly unaligned door, unaligned according to manufacturer specifications. From the top view it looks like the seals are off... One is wider in spots. However they are stating to me that it is a cosmetic issue beyond the 30-day window. And I DO HAVE PHOTOS. For AMANA to not consider this issue for what it is has been unbelievable to me. They wont replace the door... Nothing. Am I mad? I no longer consider them to be a respectable company. A year and a half ago we purchased a brand new dryer (Amana tandem 7300 dryer) from Home Depot. As we were renovating our home, we continued to use our old appliances until our new laundry room was completed. The new washer and dryer stayed in a spare room, in its original packaging. This past weekend (July 5,2014), we hooked up our brand new, high eff. washer and dryer, only to find the dryer didnt work properly. It would go on for a few seconds, was really noisy and then stop, and repeat again. We called in an appliance repairman. He stated that the motor was faulty and would have to be replaced. $150 for the motor and $150 for the labor. I called Whirlpool (Amana), who said they would pay to have someone check it but that was it. Obviously, it wasnt checked properly at the factory in the first place, because if the motor was blown before we even used it, what kind of shoddy workmanship is going on. Im sure this doesnt happen often, but when it very obviously hasnt been used at all (as our repairman stated). Why could they not send out their own serviceman to affirm this and then, at the very least, give us a new motor while we would pay for the service call. I dont think we will ever buy Amana/whirlpool ever again. Very shoddy company.

My wife and I bought this Amana washing machine & dryer as a set from Best Buy in Green Bay, Wisconsin, little over two years ago as a Christmas present from me & Linda, to myself & Linda. Just last week (2/9/2016), the wife was doing some laundry. When she closed the door it wouldnt lock, so the machine couldnt start its washing cycle. She asked me to come down. I looked at it, unplugged it, and waited a few minutes, thinking that it would reset itself. I plugged it back in and had the same issue. I turned the dial and there was a huge light, followed by the tell-tale noise of electrical components arching. Then there was a flash of light (from the back of the control panel, followed by a cute little mushroom cloud). I called Best Buy and informed them of what had happened. They said that there wasnt much they could do then transferred me to the customer service manager. She gave me the customer service number to Amana. Upon calling them, I had the feeling like I was bothering them (cold shoulder routine). Like the other complainant stated, Amana has been around for years, figured it was a solid, dependable product. Obviously, it isnt - quantity, not any quality anymore!!! After what seemed like an hour had passed, I finally hung up. Totally disgusted & frustrated with my experience. We both feel like we have been duped. My advice, DO NOT BUY ANY AMANA PRODUCT WHATSOEVER!!! Thanks Amana for nothing. I will not recommend your product to ANYONE!!! Pull your heads out of your **!!! I purchased an Amana refrigerator 3 years ago and so soon the compressor went out. I had a 4-year warrant from Home Depot. Some guy, he was not with Home Depot but from an appliance repair store, they hired came out and he was very rude. I would ask him a question about the freon and he would shrug his shoulders. I think this was because he is white and Im Spanish. Lately, since the apartments next door have been empty for a year, roaches have come to my home from there. Because I keep up on roach control, we did not have them before. He found two roaches on the floor and put down we were infested, which we are not. Now Home Depot says they will not fix it. But another repair person says that’s absurd. Even if you have them roaches, they can not get in the compressor.I blame Amana for making cheap refrigerators. Did you know they put cardboard to cover the back of the refrigerator? And I blame Home Depot for not delivering what they agreed. We are going to have to put another tent over our house to get rid of the roaches.

AER6303MFS - My hope in ordering this range was to receive a reasonably-priced, decent quality product that would serve me well over the next several years. Granted, I was aware that this was by no means a top-of-the-line appliance, but upon researching it I found that it had good reviews overall and felt confident about purchasing it. Fast forward to last week, when my range was delivered on a Monday. Everything appeared to be working well upon arrival when I inspected it, and I was excited to have a nice-looking, well functioning appliance for my kitchen. On Friday evening, I decided to use my new oven for some baking. When I pulled the handle to open the door, the whole thing just fell into pieces. Little pieces of plastic and a strip of trim scattered on the floor. The door handle itself was hanging by a thread, and the glass panel front of the door was loose and I was afraid that it was also going to fall off. Needless to say, I did not do any baking that day. The following Monday, I called the Amana customer service line (they are not open on weekends) to report that my product was defective. After talking with them, and the appliance customer service line for the retailer where I bought the product, and being transferred to several different representatives over the course of 1.5 hours, the bottom line was that I was stuck with my defective range unless I wanted to pony up the cash for a brand new one. Amana is willing to repair the defects, which of course I am skeptical about because who knows what else is broken in that hunk of junk? Oh well, I guess Im just the sucker in this situation. I would not recommend this product or any other Whirlpool product (that includes Amana and Maytag) as they are clearly not willing to stand behind the quality of their products (or lack thereof).

I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret I ever bought them. List of problems: (1) This will be the 3rd service call in just a few months. (2) NO SOFTENER DISPENSER, what rocket scientist would design a washer without a softener dispenser??? Its not like it would cost anymore to the company! You have to either stop the machine right when it’s filling up for a rinse cycle or...buy a softener ball which stains clothes and does an ineffective job at best! (3) My electric bill has not dropped one penny, do not tell me that these machines are more efficient, thats just politics, so that congress can say they are being more environmentally safe! HE (high efficiency) is not true!!!(4) The washer does a terrible job of cleaning clothes. It does NOT agitate properly, it just winds back and forth a little and makes a weird little noise. My old washer (Kenmore) was a superior product and I wish I had never got rid of it... If you own an Amana top load, just wash your clothes in deep water, so they at least wash better. (5) This is our 3rd service call as I said in the beginning in just a few months, the first 2 service calls were with the dryer and this one is for the washer. The motherboard is bad in the head of the unit. Buyer beware, these are not old time washers that you could open up any time or adjust water levels during the operation or just open up anytime you wanted to add clothes or more soap... No... These are very sensitive electronics that have issues when the washer process is disturbed in any way!!!(6) This is the way you have to treat these washer, pay attention... Open up lid, add soap, put clothes or whatever your washing on sticky soap. Add softener ball if you (unknowingly) bought a washer without a softening dispenser. That was us... Never buy from ad in paper, go see it, who knew washers are now made WITHOUT softener Dispensers!!! Then close lid and set settings from left to right and hit start program button. The reason I said program button (Start) is because these junk washers are now like cyborgs, part computer with junk electronic boards as electronics to control functions and operations of a washer which are just basic. After you do that, do NOT disturb in any way! Otherwise YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS AND REGRET YOU EVER BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Resetting only works so many times when it does have problems. I bought this from a local vendor through a sale paper ad. The vendor is not the problem, this is a Amana Corporate issue. Shame on you Amana, I will never buy a Amana product again... Trying to reinvent the wheel?

I had lots of problems with the Amana slide in range, with Model #ACSE350AS, from the get go. Where to start? Here’s a list of the problems: the control panel got really hot on high heat or broil causing the plastic layer over the buttons to warp; the burner labels (front right, back left, etc) chipped off; you need to press buttons that poked through the plastic; uneven heating and the temperature was never accurate; it took awhile to preheat; the heating elements needed to be replaced; and finally, the panel just gave out, caught fire, and we had to call the fire department! We will not buy Amana again!

Amana NTW4516FW3: Worst of all, it agitates as it fills!!! WHY??? WHY would it DO this???!!! This tears up your cloths!!! I have to wait till it fills, THEN put in my cloths. Limited control of water: It is supposed to auto sense but it runs in too little for some loads (I can switch it over to deep fill until the correct amount of water runs in) and WASTES MY WATER AND DETERGENT running TOO MUCH water for smaller loads; no way to stop it! Nothing you can do about it!!! :( It only RINSES on COLD! :( So I have to CANCEL the wash cycle before it rinses, and set it back on the wash cycle in order to rinse in warm or hot water!!!! :( Then I have to take out all the wet cloths until it fills or it will tear them up agitating as it fills!!!! :( Then I cancel the cycle AGAIN, and set it to a spin setting after if rinses, as this is the fastest. (The spin it would normally do on the wash cycle is slower and shorter... cloths too wet when done.) TRIED TO CALL AMANA AND ASK WHY THE WASHER AGITATES WITH ONE OR TWO INCHES OF WATER IN IT AS IT FILLS!!!! They were abrupt and could offer no way I could contact or address the engineers who make this washer.

This washer and dryer set has been great thus far. Very easy to use and actually isn’t loud. I can fit a good amount of cloths in it, including large comforters. I had never used Amana brand and hadn't heard a whole lot about it, so I was hesitant at first but I am glad I did. Only thing I see that could be an issue down the line is the dryer door; if handled roughly I could see the the spring needing to possibly be replaced. Overall great product for a good price. I am pleased.

We have had our washer and dryer for 3 years and they have never been any good. My washer timer stopped working so we are having to sit and listen out for the machine to complete or it will continue to repeat the cycles all over again if we dont stop it ourselves. The washing machine also knocks so loudly that even the dogs next door begin to bark. Our dryer timer has also stopped working causing the heating element to not blow heat.

I hate all the bells & whistles of high-priced washers & dryers....they usually don't really do much but cause headaches. We opted for this fairly basic dryer & it works perfectly so far! It has a bit more room in it than our last one so the clothes come out virtually wrinkle-free! I would recommend it highly....unless you just NEED to spend more $$

In September of 2009, I purchased an Amana refrigerator, model # AFD2535DEB Serial # KY287062. In September of 2011, the crisper draw center rail broke. The draws were not overloaded. We are a two-person adult home with perhaps a daily draw usage. I replaced it with the appropriate part on September 11, 2011. On November 5, 2011, the replacement rail broke in less than two months. The draws were not overloaded. I purchased my first replacement from Appliance Parts Pros. The current one was ordered from a link directly from the Amana web page. On 3/3/12, it has broken again. Each time, this has to be replaced, it cost $25. According to other reports, Amana is not covering the replacement. Are we to believe we must spend $100 a year for the life of the fridge?

We bought an Amana Top Loading Washer (NTW4605EW0) on July 22, 2016 to replace a front load Whirlpool Washer that had its control module go up. Big mistake! 9 months and 2 days later... what do you know same issue that we were having with the Whirlpool! The washer would not drain. Turned it off and unplugged it. Now it wont power back on and drain. I had to hand drain the washer as far as I could get it and pull all my soaking wet clothes out to finish hand washing them! I am beyond frustrated with all Whirlpool Corporations various holdings (Amana, Maytag, Whirlpool, and many more) washers. Never again will I buy any washer made by a single company owned by Whirlpool!

Machine is a disappointment. It does not fill all the way up with water. You must put on deep wash just to do a medium load. Also, you cannot open it to fix it when during the spin cycle it gets off balance. You must turn the machine off and start over again.

New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fix
New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fixed under warranty. 6 months later (still in warranty), it stops working, but only occasionally. Stupid me should have gotten it fixed again, but it wasnt that bad. When it broke for good, the flimsy 1-year warranty (really, people?) had just ended, though it was less than a year since the first problem. I called Amana - they refused to help. I decided this was just wrong, and called to complain. After 35 minutes on hold, I got an agent who was so rude I decided to complain about her. The problem was, she refused to even give her name! I submitted this entire story on the web-based customer service portal. Weeks went by and I received no response, except I did get a solicitation in the mail to buy an extended warranty! So, my miserable customer experience is viewed by Amana as a marketing opportunity! I have read many others say the same thing. It’s shocking how American customer service values have eroded. Finally, I got their social media person over Twitter. He looked into it and refused to help. I could tell it was because he has no power to deviate from their script. Amana has it baked into their corporate culture to treat customer misery as an opportunity to make money.

Amana freezer (AQF2013TEW03) - I purchased a 20 Cu Ft upright freezer in February 2011. I had a repairman here in March 2011 because I could see light around the outside, right side of the seal. Because the light was on continuously, it kept the inside warm therefore, the freezer ran nonstop for 6 weeks. Now, the inside keeps frosting up on the top. Because it is no longer in warranty, I called a different repair company. The person who came out said that the whole inside of the door is falling part, defective mold and its sagging. The seal at the top of the door is not straight across nor never was. Because the inside door is sagging, the seal was and is continuing to sag. I called customer service for the third time today. They said because it is out of warranty, they wont do anything about it. I told them its been a problem since I bought it and they said that I should have told them within 90 days of the first repair that it wasnt correct. How was I supposed to know that the door/seal werent made like that since I bought it new? They told me Id have to purchase a new door for $403.44 plus tax and shipping. They kept bringing up the no warranty and that it would be fixed if Id have had an extended warranty. I was not offered an extended warranty when we purchased it (which I told them) and they said I should have gotten a postcard reminding me that the warranty period was up soon. I never received the card and and their customer service department doesnt believe me. This is terrible customer service and they dont stand behind their product. Four months out of warranty and Im stuck with a very large boat anchor. Their customer service is awful to say the least. The supervisor is just as bad and they dont give a crap about anything. I will never purchase another Amana/Whirlpool product.
