Bought a dryer from Fisher and Paykel. So far its blown out 3 doors as the heat destroys the plastic lugs which hold the door assembly together. Rang F and P. A supervisor called Tanya told me to get a serviceman from F and P to come out costing another $120 on top of the cost of 3 door covers which cost $40 each time. Please be warned that this dryer is rubbish and after the new door 3rd one was put on the dryer now makes a grating sound when running. Apparently a circuit board has come loose and rubbing against the drum. What rubbish. Dont buy Fisher and Paykel. Buy LG.

I purchased a top loading dryer in 11/07. Within 4 months, the dryer needed a new heating element. In Sept.of 08, the module had to be replaced. Then, it was serviced again March of 2011. Now the heating element and module have to be replaced. The dryer has been a total lemon. I want a new dryer and Fisher and Paykel is balking because the dryer is four years old.

I have purchased 3 Fisher and Paykel drawer dishwashers. Ive moved three times and each time Ive moved, Ive purchased them. I used to do the stacked ones but in this house, I decided to do the single drawer and do two of them and I like that better than the stacked. It works better for me. Its nice not to have to bend down because I have a bad back. It seems like the water would sit in bottom drawer of the dishwasher and the bottom one didnt wash as well as the top one. So this time, I did not have a problem. They work great. I wouldnt keep buying it over again if I wasnt happy.

Purchased a 8kg Wash Smart washing machine in 2020, leaking water from front of the door, not the seal. Tech assessed and left without fixing the issue, now it is leaking from the drawer and they are saying non warrantable. Poor response, over an hour spent on the phone and now we are getting told it will be another 2 weeks before they will come back out. Advised they will give me tips on washing.... hmm mother of 4, last machine lasted 10 years with no issues. Still in warranty, poor service, unreliable product!

We bought a first generation Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher when we had our condo built back in 2000. We replaced it with a new Fisher & Paykel unit since the one that we had had a lot of quirk things about it and they were becoming too much of a challenge for us to deal with. We chose this model because my husband and I are empty nesters and we liked the idea of having a smaller dishwasher to fill and run rather than having to put every dish we own over a course of two weeks into a single regular size dishwasher. Our favorite feature is its two drawers. One of them is a deeper drawer that can easily handle big plates and platters. Its very quiet. It is water efficient. Its very attractive to look at. Theres nothing about the dishwasher that to me represents either a negative or settling for something. Its just absolutely perfect for us in every way. We are extremely happy with the product.

I previously owned a Fisher & Paykel for 15 years. I recently purchased a dishwasher. It’s very quiet. They have very helpful customer service. They were able to take your call and you can speak to somebody directly because they are not that big of a company, just the right size. Would recommend.

Drawer Dishwasher - Well of course it washes dishes and that is great. I do think the rinse cycle could be improved. On occasion the dishes come out streaked as though the final rinse didnt rinse. I have Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwashers in my home in Alaska, in my Fifth wheeler, and on our boat. So there is no doubt that I like the product, but the rinse cycle is routinely frustrating. Thank you for this opportunity to give this information.

You can split it and it pulls out without having to lower a door. Its functional as far as inside and has all the different ways you can load the dishes.

Fisher Paykel washer debacle - For the fourth time in seven years, the entire logic control board has gone out. I had a Kenmore washer from Sears for 25 years and never had a hitch. Whats wrong with these foreign engineers? They cant seem to figure out US power. Each time the board went out, we waited at least three months to get parts and repairs! What kind of service is that? Now that it is off warranty, I am throwing it in the dump with all the other Fisher Paykel land fill appliances. What a waste of money, time and energy this has been. Shame on Lowes for selling this poor excuse for a product. Can you tell Im angry? I trotted down to Sears today and got me another Kenmore.

My nightmare began when I bought a DCS 48 inch dual fuel range/ovens from Aggressive Appliance, Orlando, FL. I immediately had problems with the light, thermostat knobs and then the problems grew... My ovens would not heat about 300/350 degrees and then would not maintain that temperature. Aggressive Appliances came out over six times to fix my problems. Eventually, after replacing the third thermostat (which I was told was the only part that they didnt make... yeah right!) they said that they could not fix it. The Regional Sales Manager Peter **, then came out and he couldnt fix it either. He then said that they would replace it. I asked him at that time what would happen if the second DCS range did not work, would I be able to get my money back and he said yes, that that wasnt going to happen. Well, you guessed it... Friday they put in the second DCS 48 inch dual fuel range/ovens and the large oven does not even get warm, the light does not go off, the grill had three dents in it. This has been a continuous nightmare which is only going to get worse because I have already sent out over 118 invitations to a huge event at my house which will be catered. They want to try and fix the second range when they should have made sure it worked before shipping it to me. Zero quality control. Save yourself the heartache. Spend a little more money and get something that will work. This product and company are not worth the headaches, tears and frustration. They do not honor their expressed warranty, nor apologize (until I pointed out that no one had even said sorry), nor offer consequential or incidental damages. What was supposed to be an exciting, joyful purchase has been a living hell. Hopefully, you will be wiser because of my pain.

I purchased a top-loading Fisher & Paykel washing machine in 2006 and it lasted until about 2011. In 2011, I again purchased a top-loading Fisher & Paykel washing machine. I gave the benefit of the doubt to Fisher & Paykel, thinking it was just a fluke that the first machine needed to be replaced. The second machine lasted until just as the warranty is about to expire. The machine is a piece of junk and I deeply regret being such a fool that I repurchased a Fisher & Paykel washing machine.

After numerous phone calls hours on the line and a month I still havent got my fridge fixed by Fisher & Paykel. The customer service is abysmal. Rude customer service officers. There is no complaints department and escalating your issue to a supervisor goes nowhere with no phone call ever answered. Do not buy products from Fisher & Paykel especially Haier fridges. They are just cheap and breakdown and you will never get them fixed because the customer service team does not care one bit. I even had a customer service representative call me dude on the phone and told me to calm down. Avoid at all cost.

Eco-Smart Washer WA37T26GW2 - I purchased this machine at Lowes for my new home because the salesman raved about Fisher Paykel quality which was my first mistake. I was smart enough to take out the extended warranty from Lowes. After just one year single guy doing ONE LOAD per week. The balance sensor and electronics panel had to be replaced - three service calls, because they received the wrong parts calls and a month later it was fixed. After two weeks same problem and three weeks. Finally problem was resolved and because of the warranty no cost to me. OK fine inconvenience but no biggie. Two years after this issues with the motor or something all in all cost me $350 TO FIX. I WAS PISSED. Now after 5 years of crappy reliability it again seems to have the original issue.. NO friggin way am I fixing this poorly designed and manufactured washer again. Time for a cheapo depo Chinese washer that will no doubt out last this $750 (original cost) POS! over $1000 lesson learned. Stay away from Fisher Paykel appliances.

Dont buy Fisher & Paykel products! Unlike GE and Whirlpool their products need repair from day one! I had 3 dryers delivered before we found one that worked. The latest dryer has been worked on several times with the lint trap mechanism being the culprit. When it goes out the dryer sounds like a slow moving locomotive. (Ive been without a dryer for almost a month.) The company knows about the problem but refuses to do anything about it.

When I first saw my new fridge, I was like, Ooh, how pretty! I liked the look of it, sleek and nicely designed. The last refrigerator I owned was just ok, but my first ever that I had bought. I noticed that the Paykel was European and that was impressive to me. The price was a good one and it seemed very well received online as well. It had good reviews and such, so I went ahead and tried it. Very nice. Currently, I rent my rooms and my roommates like it very much too.

This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product
This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product (washer and dryer) from Lowes 4 years ago. I spent roughly $1600-$1700. The product ran pretty well, and I enjoyed them for most part until our dryer stopped heating. I assumed it was the heating element, so I called around to see if I could have some service it. No one other than A&E Appliance Company services it. Every appliance service company said they used to service it, but could not get info and parts for them so they stopped. A&E sent someone out here for the service. He had no idea how to work on it. He spent 2 hours trying to open the dryer and had to have someone on the phone the whole time to tell him what to do. He finally determined it was the heating element at 8:00 at night. He said he would order the part and schedule a follow up appointment. I waited a week; no call from them. I called them up and asked what the deal was. They had no record of my previous appointment and said no one had ordered the part or made another appointment. I asked if they could give me the servicemans number. They said they did not have their numbers. I asked if they could get in touch with them and they said they would page them to call me. Three days later, no call. I called back and they said they would page them again. Three days later, no call. I said the heck with it and searched for the part myself. I found it, installed it but now there seems to be an electrical problem. I used my meter reader to find where the power failure was at. I thought I found the part that was needed. I went and bought another part, installed it and still it doesnt work. At that point we were a month in and I was $300 down. I was at the point where I was going to buy another dryer and sink the Fisher and Paykel dryer in the closest pond. I called 1 888 936 7872 and explained to them the situation and asked if Fisher and Paykel could make any suggestions before I sunk this piece of junk. They asked for me to call A&E again. I explained that I could not get anyone to come out here and that if I did, I would have to pay at least another $300-$400 for diagnostics, parts and labor. I only paid about $800 for it so that was out of the question. The representative then told me that she would open a file for me and F&P would make sure A&E came out and fixed it at no charge to us. For this I said, that would be great service and show the consumer that F&P was committed to service. We opened a file #** and they said they would call A&E to ensure someone came out to service me ASAP (at no charge). A&E calls me 2 days later and says we will be out there this morning to take a look at it, but I would be charged. I explained that F&P was to handle the charges. They said no. The service request mentioned nothing of that. They asked me to call F&P and sort it out so now I have to be acting as liaison between A&E and F&P. I called F&P again and I had to explain the whole situation again. This time the rep tells me they can probably waive the diagnostic fee but thats it. I said no, forget it, Ill go buy a dependable brand. She said she would contact Michael, who was the person that had authorized the request before, and she said she would call me later that day to let me know what she found out. Two days later, no call. I called A&E and asked if F&P has contacted them; nope! I call F&P again and asked for the status of my request. They say, Oh, no one submitted that request. At this point, I have had enough of playing liaison and being a sucker. I just went to Sears, bought a Maytag and have an $800 F&P dryer sitting in my laundry room that I am about to sink into a pond. I have NEVER in my life experienced such incompetence from two companies. I promise you I will never buy any F&P product ever again, and I have already begun spreading the word to my friends and whoever will listen. If you would like to get in contact with me, you can visit my new Facebook page. Dont ever buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance. I and many others are sick and tired of the lack of service this company provides. Your company’s service, along with A&E’s, is horrible!

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. I needed a new refrigerator because my old one is 24 years old and had a leak so I purchased the Fisher & Paykel especially because it fits the area of the space in my apartment. It has a counter depth that when you add the door and the handle, it would fit the wall deck that it needed to fit. I was happy that I was able to get a French door which is what I really wanted. Compared to my old ref, it got a water feature which I never had before which is nice. Im kind of disappointed that the ice makers not on the outside. The water for the ice seems to go outside the ice tray and then it gets stuck. Its hard to move it out, to pull it back or push it back so I was taking ice away from the sides. I dont know if that just happens to be but somehow the drawer part was installed for some reason because it doesnt seem like its lopsided or anything like that. Ill explore it again and see what would happen when I turn it all back on again.I would recommend Fisher & Paykel to others. I had mentioned it to some people already because I had a neighbor who happened to pass by after they installed it and the blinds were up and said Ooh, French door and its fixed. So I told her what it was.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer in June 2006. One month before the warranty expired (in May 2008), the pump in the washer went out and was leaking water from underneath the washer onto the floor. That pump was replaced at no cost to us. However, in August 2009, the pump again went out and was leaking water all over the floor. That pump was not under warranty and we had to pay for it along with an $80 service call! Right on time, in November 2011, the pump went out again and was leaking water so another $80 service call and the pump was $190. I know others who are having similar problems with this washer and the pump and Im telling everyone I know, Do not buy this brand of appliance (not washers, not dryers, not dishwasher or refrigerators) because they dont last.We now have more money spent on repairs than the cost of the washer so were thinking well buy a good ol Kenmore next time!

Phenomenal service from F&P - We purchased a F&P Ecosmart washing machine from Lowe’s in August 2008 at the salespersons behest. We didnt purchase the store warranty as our previous Amana washing machine lasted for 13 years. A few months before the 2-year manufacturers warranty expired, the washing machine stopped working. We contacted F&P and they quickly had it fixed at their expense with a pump replacement. Well, it happened again this week, only now its four years from date of purchase and we have no warranty. So last night, I was surfing the web about problems with these machines and came across this site. I thought wed just be stuck with a lemon since there are so many complaints, so we had resolved to just get rid of the machine and buy another brand instead of having anyone try to fix it. But in reviewing this site, I saw someone from F&P posting to every complaint, apologizing to the customer and giving a phone number to call. So I called the number last night and left a voicemail, not really expecting to hear from anyone. Well, someone from F&P (Lisette) called me back first thing this morning! And less than four hours after speaking with her, I am sitting here at home listening to the sound of my working washing machine again! She sent someone out at F&Ps expense. He replaced the defective pump with a newly designed pump that he assured me should last a very, very long time. He said we shouldnt have any more problems with it at all. So I am quite amazed at F&Ps quick and caring response! So even though we would do a lot more research before buying another F&P machine, I can personally testify that at least they stand behind the problems their machines have! Id like to think that an American company wouldve done the same, but something tells me otherwise. Thank you very much Lisette!

I bought a FP two-drawer dishwasher about 5 years ago. It cost me a small fortune! We had our cabinets custom made to fit the FP dishwasher. It has been nothing but problems since the moment we got it. Now, it is on its last legs. It constantly fills up with water and my husband has to take the drawers out and wet-vac it, then put a de-humidifier in front of it for at least 24hrs. Once it is finally dry, he has to go into the basement and turn the electricity back on (which he shuts off to do this whole drying process). Inevitably, after one or two cycles it fills with water again and starts beeping. The beeping does not stop until we shut the power off again in the basement. The process repeats endlessly. We have had repairmen look at it and they say they see it all the time and there is nothing they can do with FP products, they are just not made well. My mother has had the same cheap Sears dishwasher for almost 30 years! I would love to replace it but I resent the fact that I paid so much for it and it is junk. Plus, Im afraid I will have to buy the same one again since my cabinets were specially designed to fit that model and I am afraid I will have the same problems with a new one.

I was told in the store that the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator was a very quiet model, but its not. Its noisy and I did have to call them because since I got it, I cant sleep at night. Its cycling continually and extremely loud, like a jet taking off. The technician came out and said that I didnt have much in my freezer and suggested putting in jugs of water. But since then, I do have a roommate who uses the freezer and its a bit quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it would be. I had been concerned that my old ref was not energy efficient and thats why I got rid of it and got this one and it seems to be functioning okay, but I dont know how much energy its saving me. I am disappointed with the noise and I check back at the store and they said well, the new appliances do cycle on and are sensitive to drops in temperature. So it could be I didnt get complete information and didnt research this completely as I needed to. Im happy that its got a modern design and I like the size. If it were a bit quieter, I would be happier.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, my first F&P purchase. We had a designer help us redo our kitchen. We have a very tiny kitchen. She suggested it as space saving. The traditional one, the big door practically blocked the entire way; the dishwasher was at the end of the counter and when you open the door, there was hardly any room to walk in the kitchen. The drawers of this F&P dishwasher take up less space when you open them up and when you put dishes in, you don’t block the way to the kitchen. It’s very, very good! We especially like the function of it that you can do half a load at a time. We have a little 7 year old who lives with us and our daughter, and with all of us, a lot of dishes go through there and we don’t run out of dishes anymore, because she does little half loads and they’re ready. It’s very convenient and easy. And the quality, the way the dishes come out, they look very clean, very nice. We’re very happy because besides function, the other things with the space saving and ergonomically, the way it can be standing upright and drop things in, it’s just really nice all around! It’s very quiet as well.

Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when
Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when we got home, we called the F&P dealer. They told us it was 2 months out of warranty and we should call any repair service we choose to fix it. Our repairman told us the motherboard had burned out (you could see the soot) from a power surge which could have been prevented by a surge protector. Cost to repair is $448. No one at the appliance store told us we should have a surge protector. There is no information on the refrigerator or on the power cord to recommend one. The installers just plugged it in and that was that. I hold F&P responsible for not letting us know about the need for a surge protector. To make matters worse, the motherboard for our refrigerator is back ordered. We will be without a refrigerator for two or three weeks until it comes in. That seems an unconscionably long time to wait without a refrigerator. Evidently F&P has problems managing their parts inventory and about servicing their customers. After this I called F&P in New Zealand on the advice of the repairman. He thought they might pay for a new mother board. Turns out I should have called an F&P authorized repairman first. No one at the F&P dealer told me that. I had already paid for our repairmans first visit and he took the motherboard with him to see if he could get a temporary fix (he couldnt). So I asked for the phone number of the local F&P authorized dealer so I could explain what had happened. I was told that they wouldnt give me his phone number because of privacy issues. I cant make any sense of that: a refrigerator repairman who wont give out his phone number? What kind of repairman is that? Our cat got sick and will require refrigerated meds for 10 days. Thats a hassle without a refrigerator. But the person I talked to at F&P never acknowledged that the breakdown of their almost new F&P product was making my life difficult or expressed any empathy or sympathy at all. It was like talking to an attorney, not a customer care rep. Maybe thats the way they treat customers in New Zealand, but it sure doesnt go over very well over here.

I fell in love with it when I saw it. I took it home and everything was good. Tech came out and fixed the dryer and the washer within my 2-year warranty. The warranty ran out and the dryer tore up again. Tech came and repaired it, costing me around $150.00. Now, the washer does not work again and I am so upset. I thought that I had the perfect set and I was mistaken. I didn’t even mind paying more for it. I should have gotten a different brand that was cheaper but would have lasted longer. I feel like every year, it tears up and I have to pay for it to be replaced. I really wanted these to last.

I got a washer and dryer by Fisher & Paykel. I went to Fletcher’s Appliance here in Nashua and I have a good friend. He was a repairman there for the company. And one day, we were looking at different things and I asked him what he thought. He told me Fisher & Paykel is one of the best. He says they have no transmission and explained different things about the machine. He also said that a nursing home had one for 13 years and they just finally got it repaired. And I liked the features of it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the dryer door. The way it opens. I think it’s kind of old-fashioned. The newer ones fold down so that you can use the door if you need to set a pair of socks or something on it. I’m partially handicapped so I sit on a chair to do the laundry. I was hoping to go on and put my chair there. But other than that, the machines are fantastic. They run great. I’ve had no big problems so far with them in the short time I’ve had them. I’d say they’re wonderful. It’s funny the guy that delivered it couldn’t get the washer to work to pump the water out. And he left and my older son went down and one, two, three, he made it work. Otherwise, they would have sent out a repairman for the first day that it was delivered. And I said to myself, “This is crazy. I bought a brand new machine and now I need a repairman? This is just isn’t working out so good.” But it was just something that they messed up on.

We purchased a refrigerator ( fisher & paykel ) when we remodeled our kitchen. After 3 years, the door alarm kept beeping after we closed the door. This would keep going until we opened the door and pushed the button inside. We called the company and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. We went online and found that many other consumers had the same problem. Finally, we asked for an authorized service company. They recommended KAM appliances. It cost 95 dollars to get them to come out and tell us that they needed a part to make the repair. When they returned, they told us that the part was defective and they would talk to F& P again. They came out a third time and then the refrigerator would not work at all. We were told that it could not be fixed. We called F & P and they told us we were out of warranty and offered us a pro rated price on a new refrigerator.

No clock on the stove to know if the stove has reached the good temperature, or no button either to program cooking time. Nothing, zero, and everything burns. The fridge? We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I bought a Fisher and Paykel refrigerator. It was one of the few fridges that had the right size dimensions to fit in my kitchen. In terms of performance, there are some good things about it and there are some things I’ve been disappointed about it. I like the quality of the shelving, that it’s glass and that there’s metal on the doors. The fan inside the refrigerator is a little loud, that’s one of my complaints. The other complaint is that it doesn’t make very much place and I wish the freezer was a little larger. It’s kind of funny, sort of V shaped. Because of that, it doesnt hold as much as it could than if it was more like a traditional square shape. This F&P refrigerator did not meet my expectations considering the price.

After a great deal of research, I learned this refrigerator has the least depth of any other on the market that includes a water dispenser. This is due in part to the fact the ice maker is not contained on the door; the icemaker is contained in the bottom freezer. Yes, you have to scoop out the ice manually, but the depth space savings is worth the trade, and the chilled water dispensed doesn't require ice. Although I initially thought it pricy for a refrigerator, it was my only option for the space in my kitchen. I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it was in my kitchen Wednesday afternoon. I love this stylish and sleek refrigerator!!! While 17 cubic feet may seem small, it is an ideal size for most families. In most cases, the items stored in the back of a refrigerator are forgotten or the space isn't really used anyway. There is so much shelf space that I was able to get more in this refrigerator than my previous larger unit. I was surprised to find that the water filter is not contained within the unit. The filter holder mounts to the wall, or, in my case, an adjacent cabinet, and just the water line attaches to the unit. This perhaps goes with the philosophy of no wasted space in the unit. I opted for a three year extended warranty for just over $100, but I am optimistic I won't need it. I'll update this rating if I have problems with the unit, but so far I have absolutely no regrets.

18 YO oven has a broken door hinge, which we had repaired almost five years ago. It is broken again. Part is now discontinued. Oven was several thousand dollars. F&P includes being sustainably minded in its brand vision. Their online chat was full for days, through Messenger they have said oven has served good time. Discontinuing production of a part thats a known problem is not being sustainably-minded.

My wife and I purchased an Eco Smart clothes washer and a SmartLoad dryer about 3 1/2 years ago. It took the washer about 4 months to break. The repair guy said that some coins had lodged in the mechanism. Since this was such a rare occurrence (after all, one never finds coins in the laundry, right? Especially with kids in the house), I wrote it off to dumb bad luck. A few months later, it had gone down again. They replaced the logic board, I think he said. After the warranty expired, it broke two more times and I was able to repair it. Funny, there are a lot of videos and tutorials on how to fix these on YouTube. The last time it broke, I gave up and purchased a new washer from a different manufacturer. The drier stopped working well after about 8 months. It took forever to get a load dry, I thought. I cleaned out the lint trap with every load, mind you. I cleaned out the lint in the exhaust line once a month for a while, thinking that was the problem but it didnt help. Now it takes four hours to dry a load if it hasnt rained lately. It never gets much more than warm. We found out on another forum that there is a service access secondary lint trap or some such thing on it. Lucky its summer and we can line dry. All in all, this washer and dryer set were a dream, for an appliance repairman.

I have owned my Fisher and Paykel Ecosmart Autowasher Model GWL15 since 2010. The first time, we had a problem with the spin cycle was August 2012 (past the 2 year warranty period). I paid $180 to have the pump replaced. The repairman said that this is a frequent problem with this brand of washers. Fast forward to today, April 6, 2014. The washer quit after the wash cycle again. I tried several times to reset it by unplugging it like the owners manual instructed, only to have NO results again. I had to take the clothes out and wring them out by hand. I then had to empty the washer by hand to prepare for the repairman to come AGAIN. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel product, nor will I recommend Fisher and Paykel to anyone!! I have been meaning to write this review to ward people away from Fisher & Paykel ovens (we have a range with an oven underneath, gas). First, they are dangerous. If not blowing up your home is important to you, purchase any other oven. One built by your child may be safer. We had their own representatives into our house over 5 times during the first year of purchase. On one occasion they left a gas leak and then had to rush back to repair it. They would not purchase it back but worse, they wouldnt give us a new oven. The flame routinely goes out in the oven, so something will be baking and all of a sudden, it is not. This creates a new type of cooking anxiety I never imagined. Cant thank you enough F&P!I finally took the time to write this today as I turned off a burner on the range and though the knob was often, the flame continued. The fire was on for 20 minutes before my wife smelled the smoke coming from the pan. My name is Alan **, I am a real person, and happily alive, regardless of what F&P does, I live in New York City, you can easily find me online (they dont let you put your email address in). If I havent convinced you not to purchase this range, please find me and give me another opportunity (unless our oven has killed us). And yes, we are buying a new oven.

I have never been as pleased with any appliance I have ever purchased as I am with my washing machine. I bought it after my heavy duty Whirlpool motor burned out after 4 years. It has everything I could ask for in a washing machine. The wool cycle is great for todays new wools. I have never had it repaired for any reason. When it got out of balance the first time, I used the service summary and put it back in balance myself and have been fixing it myself ever since. I just purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. This is my second pair. My previous set I placed in a rental and decided to get a new set for myself. I had few problems with my older units. I understand my older dryer was actually made by an American company with a Fisher & Paykel nameplate. The new Fisher & Paykel set is a big step backwards for this manufacturer. The new washing machine is noisy and clanks when washing. I don’t know the cause but am assuming it is due to the tub not having a center post in the middle. The control panel has changed too. I would much prefer to be able to just push warm soak or hot wash or cold rinse, rather than pick thru the heavy, bulk, sheet buttons to try and get the wash settings I want. Now, the new dryer is something else altogether! I have a service man coming out to check on the top of the new dryer. This will be his second time out. The top seems to get in the way of the rotating drum and goes boom, boom, and boom every time the dryer drum turns during drying. The tops are flimsy plastic. I have a feeling it warps after being heated when the dryer is on high or low heat or the tops are not properly designed. A top loading dryer was an interesting idea but just wasnt pulled off well. Just buy a front loading dryer. I also have bubbles behind control panel masking. I would suggest interested buyers go to Consumer Reports Magazine and read further evaluations of washer and dryers.

[COMPLAINT] POOR SERVICE! I had a scheduled repair / service on my washing machine today. The service was supposed to occur between 7 am and 12 pm. At 12:45 pm I rang customer service. They advised that there were many people off sick and the technician was running late. (My reply is why didnt someone ring me to let me know they would be late?) He would be at my house in 30 to 60 minutes. At 3:45 I rang to speak to someone to find out what was going on. I spoke to Daniel who then advised that the technician had tried contacting me but couldnt reach us. He double checked my details and everything they had was correct. He advised they could come back tomorrow as the technician went home. I advised I couldnt wait any more than what I had done today. I asked to speak to a supervisor, her name was Tanya. Tanya then said the same. I said this wasnt good enough that I had taken this much time off and she agreed. She asked what I wanted and I suggested Fisher and Paykel should pay for the repairs. She said they couldnt do this, but that something should be done. I asked what and she said she couldnt make that decision now and she would be back on Thursday to let me know. Fisher and Paykel you need to seriously pick up your customer service game. This is not appropriate.

I heard about the Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwashers and that’s what I wanted. It was the only one that had the two-drawer. I wanted my kitchen redone and they just put it in about a month ago but it’s not done yet, the total kitchen. So I haven’t used it. So I don’t know how it works or anything. There’s a lot of plastic stuff in it and I have a feeling it’s going to break. It’s not made as strong as an ordinary dishwasher is. I would just rate them average because I think one of the little plastic things broke when they put it in. It’s not anything that makes a big difference or anything. That’s not very good.

A girlfriend of mine had the two drawer dishwasher that she bought about 5 years ago and I just loved that. So when we went to remodel our kitchen, we put in Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. We also have the DCS stove and microwave or cooktop, microwave & oven. All of our appliances are Fisher & Paykel. Everything was good until just recently when we were not too happy. We had to wait 3 weeks to get a part for our oven that stopped working and its only 6 months old... We like the actual appliances. Its just the fact that its so long to get any kind of parts in and then we had also paid for the extended warranty on them so we paid quite a bit extra just to have them and then had to deal with waiting.

My F & P dual drawer dishwasher never seems to clean well. The area under the filter/screen is always full of water and F & P says thats normal. The screen itself needs to be rinsed every several of loads as grease seems to build up on the inside. I run DW cleaner every dozen loads or so and it doesnt seem to help. I am very dissatisfied with this product. I got it so my disabled son can easily reach into the top drawer for loading and unloading and it works well for this purpose but its hardly worth it if the dishes have to be washed by hand after theyve been run through the machine.

The griddle on this range is a piece of junk. It does not heat over 250 degrees. I have contacted Fisher & Paykel numerous times about this problem. They referred us to a repair service. The serviceman does not even want to work on a DCS. They have adjusted the griddle numerous times and replaced the thermostat twice. It still does not get hot enough! Fisher & Paykel will not let you talk to their technician to explain how the griddle is working. We are unable to get a phone number where we can talk to someone who understands how the griddle is supposed to work. One of the service reps in New Zealand asked us to fax all the records we have kept on the problems with this range. The number he gave us would not go through. I think he did not want to give us a correct number. He would not even give us his last name so we could talk to him again! If they were an automotive manufacturer, after reading all the bad reviews, the government would have already put them out of business!

I wanted to take the bins out of my freezer to clean them and get rid of some ice buildup and I can see no way to get them out. Theres no instructions in the users manual and customer service was unable to tell me how so they emailed me a video that was supposed to show me how to do it but the video was 6 years old and the freezer compartment didnt look anything like what I have now. Weve only had ours about a year-and-a-half and it is still under warranty. I emailed them back to let them know and they never responded to my email, and I even sent pictures of what mine looks like, so I called again and I was told that I would have to have a service rep come out to remove the bins and if he found there was no manufacturer defect they would charge me $95!!Yet they are not able to provide me with any instructions on how to do it myself!!! This refrigerator cost way too much have people answering the phone that cant help with something that should be a simple process... And maybe the bins dont come out at all but if they dont they should be able to at least tell me that instead of telling me they have to send out a service rep.

I have not had a working machine for four months, despite five visits by three different repairmen, four different diagnoses, and four different pieces being replaced! I cant even count the number of phone calls Ive had to make to schedule the repairs. Im sick of F&Ps lame excuses, unbelievably bad parts supply chain and lousy repairmen. The company simply cannot support its products. Do not buy!

I absolutely hated the Maxima Maytag set that I had gotten and had been a Maytag person for about 30 years. I actually got rid of it, a very recent purchase of a Maytag frontloading set, because I didn’t like them at all and I like this Fisher & Paykel top loading set a lot. I love it! I’m really pleased with the purchase. It’s much more efficient. It’s easy, easy, easy, easy to use, not complicated at all. I like the fact that it’s simple and that it doesn’t have a lot of extras that I don’t need and would never use. But actually, even as it is, it has more than I use now, but it’s good. Space-wise, it’s not as deep, which is great, because in my case, I was kind of surprised by the depth of the front loader and it was inconvenient because it got in our way. So that was another reason why I got rid of the other one. And I’d only had the other set for a year. There’s two comments that I’d like to make with this F&P set… First thing is that I’m unhappy not being able to soak clothes because that’s a nuisance. I’m used to old top loaders where you could fill up the tub, put some bleach in there and soak it overnight, and you can’t do that with this. And unless there’s a way that I can be taught how to do it, I actually called the main headquarters and they simply said it wasn’t possible. Secondly, I’m not sure if it’s what I’ve been using for laundry soap, but it seems like things are a little dingier than they used to be. I’m not sure. I think that might be the soap that I’m using. It’s the whites aren’t getting as white as I’m used to. But I don’t think that’s the washing machine; I think that’s my products. The cleaning products that I use, I’ve always made my own, and I’ve never had a problem with things getting completely clean before and it seems like maybe there’s a residue because they’re not using as much water. And so, I changed back to the high efficiency stuff and everything seems just fine, but it’s a lot more expensive than what I do. Overall, it’s a great machine!

We recently purchased a Fisher Paykel Double Dish drawer. It is extremely quiet even when both drawers are being washed at the same time. My wife enjoys the fact that she can use either one or both drawers and have clean dishes in one and put dirty dishes in the other drawer. She also likes that the dishwasher heats the water during the wash cycle. The dishes are clean at the end of the dishwashing cycle and come out clean without pre-cleaning. The drawers have good capacity. The only downside is that you have to be careful that you dont put any handle or dish above the top of the drawer as it could jam the drawer and make it impossible to open after the dish drawer is run (We have never had this happen, just a precaution). I would definitely recommend this to others.

We were re-doing our kitchen and we wanted something with two drawers and they were the only ones who really did it for the dishwasher. I checked them out online and they were very highly rated. My wife says why we didn’t get all our appliances from them? We did our whole kitchen and she was... “I didn’t know about them beforehand.....” So this was an experiment that actually turned out to be positive and if they want to, they can change all my appliances, because I’m sorry I didn’t buy all of them :)Compared to other brands we had our F&P dishwasher is amazing. I love that the dishes come out sparkling clean. I don’t have to scrap them. I’ve had bad dishwashers. The last one that I had was extremely poor. I would never buy that brand again.

I would never recommend their high-end dishwashers. They only work on the heavy energy cycle and something is messed up with our computer. It cleans sometimes and not on other times. For two years wed had an authorized service provider come look at it, but Fisher & Paykel doesnt believe us. They said they called the provider and that we have only had it looked at once. I purchased a washer and dryer from Lowes. Within a year both needed service, under warranty. The following year both again needed service, the motor in the washer and the board on the dryer. $600 in repairs. Neither under warranty. I spoke with F&P and they wouldnt assist on the repair. On year three, the dryer went out again. I spoke to F&P and they told me to get a repair estimate and they would aid in the repair. The repairman, the only F&P rep in town, told me the units were junk even though they were on their high end. I called back to F&P with the estimate, $250 + $80 diagnostics, and was told, you have lemons. That is the nature of the world we live in. Too bad. I trashed the 3 year old units and replaced with something else. Avoid this company. The units are flimsy to say the least.

Must tip my hat at the FP and the customer service. Thanks to CA for being there, as I feel this blog/posting was influential in getting my problem resolved. Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer
Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer over icing around the fan area on the rear panel. In memory all that was fixed was the rear panel. The fan cover/vent was not even replaced and was left without one. I dont believe anything was done about the over icing of the back fan area. Then in late September 15 my customer reports the freezer is still defrosting intermittently throughout the many months, but only occasionally. So in September your serviceman visits and says its the door hinge/latch not closing properly causing the light to come on and thus defrosting the freezer. So he fixes it, then the problem continues. So then he orders new hinge latch parts and replaces it and the problem continues. Meanwhile the month and another month has gone by where my customer has a freezer which is defrosting all her food. Food is expensive and she has 6 children and is pregnant. So by now I have spoken to management in your service department a several times to discuss a fast solution. To be informed nothing can be done except send another service man out to fix it.I requested a different serviceman as he has not been able to fix the problem, always stating it is the door hinge/latch. I think he has been there 5 times now. Your management team advises me the serviceman is the person who decides if the fridge can be fixed or not. If he states it cant then the item will be replaced or refunded. (The technician states he is not allowed to report it cant be fixed. He HAS to fix it!!!) So now we are in December the heat is coming in, xmas food needs cooling and the fridge is not keeping the food cold enough either. The lady is pregnant and concerned she may get sick from food/dairy that is not being cooled effectively. So last week I asked management to send another technician. They said this was not possible but they will instruct the technician to ring the service team to discuss the fridge while he was there, to insure the fridge was assessed correctly. To ensure this was going to happen I, the manager of the appliance rental company, attended todays visit to hopefully finalise this ongoing saga. The technician immediately commented on the hinge/latch again.I reported to him that the new parts he replaced did not fix the freezer door coming ajar when the fridge door closed, because I myself checked the problem the very evening he fixed it. And the problem was not any better. I advised of him having to ring the service team while we were all present. He said he had no instruction to do so. But he did, which was a waste of time because your phone service consistently takes close to an hour to speak to someone. I know because I have had to ring this department many times now.So I communicated I dont believe the door is the initial issue. It may be now as it has been tampered with a few times to fix it. Much to his frustration he started to investigate into the freezer. Oh he reports the fan has been intermittently turning off/ not working, therefore this would defrost the fridge slightly and intermittently. I looked in and the fan area, behind the rear panel was solidly blocked with ice, preventing the fan to turn even if it did work intermittently. He says thats ok we will just order all these parts and replace them in a few weeks. When the fan was reported faulty/broken I believe this was the cause of the very first problem back in October 14 and explains why the freezer has been intermittently defrosting. Your technician said it himself. MEANWHILE the lady is losing all her food (which is expensive), the heat is upon us and christmas is here. AND WE ARE STILL WAITING for a fridge to be working. The lady also wants to be reimbursed for food expenses as her patience has also run out. Initially I wanted the fridge replaced. Now after months of ineffective service, I am expecting a refund as it would be bad business to purchase/rent any of Fisher and Paykel appliances simply due to your warranty service procedures. So what to do now? As it is now heading into the 4th month and I think the 5th visit to fix this fridge, and it is still not fixed, I have no more patience. I will not be ringing anymore to be told all you can do is send the technician out again, to assess and fix it. This seems to be the solution even when the fridge is not being fixed. Please consider this email as a formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant department. Please also be informed I will be sending this email to Consumer Affairs and providing feedback on Fisher and Paykels Facebook on the very poor warranty service provided by your team.I have been continually bumped to alternative team members whom contradict what can be done about FIXING this fridge. I am an appliance rental company whom purchases a lot of appliances. Under no circumstances will I purchase another appliance manufactured by Fisher & Paykel. I will also be informing the 110 franchisees of the ineffective warranty service your company provides. In our business warranty work costs us time, money and sales!

Ive owned front-load machines for the past 5 years. Had a good experience with them as well. I just moved into top-load HE laundry and went F&P. After comparing the two styles I would recommend the F&P top-loaders. Being able to control your water levels is such an advantage to laundry. Heavily soiled stains are removed more significant with extra water. Having a thorough rinse improved my whites and stained outdoor clothing. The gentleness of F&P laundry is at peak level. My delicate clothing is avoiding vigorous wear and tear, even though front-load offers a delicate cycle. The controlled spin out speed is phenomenal. Clothes are noticeably softer and brighter. F&P laundry is amazing and I would recommend to any consumer.

I bought a $2500 gas range and it was broken as soon as I took it out of the box. When I turned on the oven, the fan failure light came on, so I couldnt use it. I contacted them and two weeks later, a repair technician showed up. He had to order new parts and two weeks later, he installed them, so I could finally use the oven. Once I was able to use the oven, I discovered that the fan that cools the outside of the oven was extremely noisy and vibrated the whole appliance. I contacted them again and a month later, he showed up with a new fan. He installed the new fan and it didnt make a difference. By this time, I had also discovered that even though I set the oven at 200 degrees, the lowest temperature I could get in the oven was 325. Five months later, he came back with special tape to put around the noisy fan which made a difference. Although it is still a little noisy, I can live with it compared to the racket it was making before. He also brought a new thermostat and spent hours installing that. It didnt fit, so the oven knob doesnt fit on right, I have to leave the escucheon off to put the knob on. I cant light the oven with the knob on. I have to turn to the desired temperature, pull off the knob, stick my finger in the hole and press the thing in to get the oven to light. It still didnt fix the problem with the oven and now three of the burners dont work. I bought this stove in September 2010. Its now December 2011 and the problems keep getting worse. All of the delays are either from their representative not getting back to the repairman, or the parts being back ordered for months at a time. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned and I would not recommend this brand to anyone - the oven doesnt work properly; only two out of five burners work and repairs have been dragged out for fifteen months.

My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I dont trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. Im also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I dont have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I wont leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because Im just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. Its fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I dont have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

They have no proof of the order. I sent them the confirmation that they sent me showing order number, price, and charged credit card. I sent that back to them and that was not enough proof. I had to go track down and submit proof from my credit card statement that I was in fact charged. I sent that to them and still have not heard anything back. I will give it one more day and then I will fight it with credit card company. I really rely on customer service especially when purchasing something as expensive as this range was. Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

I ran into it going online and looking for a counter depth refrigerator and thats when I ran into Fisher & Paykel. I chose them primarily because they were the only one that actually had the depth that I wanted. Other people called em counter depth refrigerators but they really werent. I have the 17 cubic foot refrigerator with the ice drawer at the bottom and two doors at the front. We pretty much like everything about it. My favorite thing about it was that it only sticks out four inches past the counter and it performs as well if not better, I would say. The only problem Ive had is with the sliding drawer. Its come off the track a couple times. The service people have been able to get it back on and I think I know how to do it myself now.

On 10-3-09 we purchased the FP HE model #WL37126KW2, serial #NYU790706. In October 2012 we noticed dark dirty streaks on our clothes. Some clothing never did come clean. Dark clothes appear to have white streaks like large amounts of soap havent been removed. Ive tried different detergents and numerous cleaning cycles. Thank the dear Lord we purchased the extended warranty! Since October 2012 weve had 7 repairmen and 3 parts replaced. The last repair was on Wednesday, 4-17-13. The 2nd load of clothing came out exactly like it did the very first time in October. Are you kidding me!Now another repairman on 4-26-13 and then Im assuming another part. I have no idea what part hasnt been replaced! After 4 new replacement parts and still having the problems, we will get a gift certificate from Lowes for a replacement. You can bet it wont be FP! Ive spoken to FP directly, Lowes and the warranty company numerous times. I am totally fed up with this whole situation. I will never buy another FP. No good reviews will come from my mouth for FP!

I have just bought a Fisher and Paykel fridge (E373L WW). I chose this brand only because nobody else makes a fridge of this size without a freezer. Well, nobody whose products are imported into New Zealand, anyway. I dont need a freezer. I lost confidence in Fisher Paykel many years ago. It is so hard to believe this company was once so highly revered by every New Zealand housewife. They made washing machines and fridges that never break down; well, not until well into old age. I still have in use a chest freezer made by them in the 1970s. They must have made enough profit in those days making products that lasted. Why cant they still do so? My fridge is only 6 weeks old and appears to be working fine. The two stars is not for the fridge but the company.

We purchased the double drawer dishwasher from Fisher & Paykel because Ive had it before and I liked the results. We had it installed in our new office but havent done anything with it yet. We only ran it the day that it was installed to make sure everything runs okay. What I liked the most about it is the option to run two drawers at once.

We wanted to switch from a conventional dishwasher to a drawer type. We’re both getting older and decided we didn’t want to bend down to the floor anymore and so we decided we would go with this, and Fisher & Paykel essentially had a good reputation. We thought we’d try them and we’re pleased. We’ve had it since we moved into a new condominium at the end of June and it’s the Tall DishDrawer. It works very well. I am getting the cleanest, clearest glasses I’ve ever seen come out of a dishwasher. I like the way the inside of the dishwasher is set up because I like the fold down, fold up racks for the glassware which comes in very handy for various sizes. There are a number of clips for putting in very sharp long knives. As a cook, you use very long chef knives. In a regular dishwasher, you can’t really put them in. So I thought that was an excellent feature. Also the cutlery container is very nicely designed so that you can put all of your sharp steak knives point down. It is an exceptionally clean looking and clean staying dishwasher. The entire inside of the dishwasher is stainless steel. It’s really a dream to use. I recommend it to everybody.

After our 30 something yr old Maytag clothes washer quit, we decided to go with Fisher & Paykel because that’s what the repairman suggested to us. We had it delivered. The installation was excellent. So far, the washer is working good. Excellent! No problem so far.

This is my 2nd F/P washer and dryer. My washes are clean but often very tangled due to the absence of an agitator. The machine is usually quiet. The spin is awesome with the wash almost dry at the end. The top loading dryer is very convenient to use. Dont be upset by the sound of the reversing or stopping drum. It dries quickly with wrinkles removed. My only disappointment was with the availability of service. The service in my area did everything possible to not help me.

I absolutely love my new washer and dryer set by Fisher and Paykel. I have had zero problems with the machines since I purchased them in August of this year. The Eco features save me money on water costs, and my clothes dry very fast due to the powerful spin cycle. I cannot recommend highly enough. Best appliance purchase ever!!!

I previously posted a complaint on January 24, 2012 about my washing machine. After my post, Fisher Paykel contacted me promptly and a repairman came out and repaired my washer, free of charge. I wished I had first contacted the company and given them a chance before posting a complaint. I cant speak for others, but my complaint was handled in a very professional and proficient manner and Im elated to have my washer working again.

The experience with this company and product is pathetically poor. I had bought a dishwasher model dd603 and since its install it has never worked for one day. It had several service calls by the local dealer. The last person said it is not worth fixing it! I am requesting the company to just come and uninstall this junk and keep it to themselves as a trophy.

I bought a Fisher and Paykel washing machine. It is not even 3 years old, but it leaks everywhere, smells moldy all the time and grime builds up in the drum and softener bowl. I had a Kenmore that was 25 years old and it never had any problems. I thought I would save energy and help the environment by buying a new machine. Boy, do I wish I had my old machine back.

We went to Gorsuch Appliance in Canton and they were telling us about the Fisher & Paykel. My Maytag washer died after 18 years so I switched to the Fisher & Paykel on their recommendation. What sold me on the product was the no agitator thing and that it weighed the load. Also because Maytag is not what it used to be. I like the washer. Compared to what my other one was, its slow and I thought these new washers were faster. It takes a little longer, but I can get more clothes in. Thats a big plus. And Ive only had one time where it was off balanced and that was the first time that I washed sheets and I didnt read the instructions properly.

I bought a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher DishDrawer. The brand is very expensive, but I liked the DishDrawer feature and I was willing to pay more thinking it was a good and reputable brand. It turned out to be nothing but trouble. Countless service calls later and I finally gave up about two years ago and started washing dishes by hand. I bought this unit when I was remodeling my kitchen, so I decided to buy the unit that allows you to put the custom cabinet panels on it. So, I wasted the money not only on the dishwasher, but also on the custom cabinet panels. Not only that, but simply replacing the unit would not just be an extra expense I could not afford, but it would also change the look of my kitchen, which I spent so much time and money remodeling. Every time I would call the one and only service company in town to come out, it would work only slightly better and soon stop working again. It never seemed to work at 100% capacity. I think I spent more money on service calls than the actual appliance. How sad is that.
