I’m 52 years of age. I've just purchased my 3rd Fisher Paykel machine and I left home at 21. This brand has never let me down. Large loads, small loads..my family and extended families. 100% Fisher and Paykel.

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.

We bought a Fisher Paykel washer/dryer set in 2009 for our new house. The dryer model number is DE27CW1. We had a six year warranty and used one call for the washer. In 2019 the dryer would fail to dry clothes. We cleaned the vent pathway and lint buildup in the front of the unit, pressed reset and we were good to go until a load of towels didn’t dry and nothing after that. Removed the front panel, pressed reset again and my husband noted that the heating element was red hot even though the unit wasn’t drying. After receiving an incorrect part from Sears Direct we decided to be grateful we didn’t have a fire and purchased a Miele set. We have pictures of the red hot heating element. There is information on the web about a lawsuit by a family in Washington State who had a fire with their Fisher Paykel dryer. Why wasn’t the Fisher Paykel dryer recalled?

I had a Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwasher, and when we upgraded our kitchen the theme was steel. We just went with the same brand because we really liked it. I liked the style and the refrigerator seemed to have the most room inside it for a counter-depth refrigerator. I had a counter-depth fridge before and you couldnt get anything in it. It was ridiculous. This one just seems to have a lot more room because the water and stuff are not bulky in the door unlike other refrigerators. The Fisher appliances are nice, with clean lines. We dont need all the bells and whistles. I just want things with space that are clean and seem to work really well. I love the gas range. It seems to have lots of space inside the oven. I enjoy the appliances. Im pleasantly surprised with them.

We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer in May last year. After 6 months we realized that washer never used hot water. It was washing the clothes always in cold water. When contacting the company they referred us to a local repair company. The technician came in today and diagnosed that the problem was with electronic module and electronic water valves. It will take 4-12 weeks for the parts to arrive. Are they using the boat to ship the parts from China? Perhaps someone should whisper to Fisher & Paykel: Federal Express. They need to improve the quality of their products. I will stay away from any Fisher & Paykel products.

I used to have a Fisher & Paykel and the reason I was purchasing something is I just remodeled a kitchen in a newer and different house than the one where I had the other one. I got the two-door dishwasher with the tall drawer. Its ugly. I didnt realize it wasnt the same in the front and they ruined the front completely. If I could have sent it back without paying a 25% up charge for returning it, I would have returned it. Im very disappointed. I have the recessed handle, it used to be all stainless steel, now theyve got some junky plastic in the front and thats terrible. I wanted the tall drawer but I assumed it was the same... it looks chintzy. Compared to the rest of my appliances, Im sorry I bought it. I bought it because its great for doing wine glasses although I find that the spot where the wine glasses go is just a slight bit narrower than what I used to have because Im having a little bit more trouble trying to get them into the slot. The dishwasher works just fine. Aesthetically, they ruined it. And I loved my other one. I just think that they didnt do a good job of remodeling it. It doesnt help the people that paid top dollar, I could have had a Bosch which is an equally competent dishwasher or any others and I chose this one because of the fact that I could do a smaller load so theres some wonderful things about it but the look upsets me.

So far so good. Had the fridge about a month and we love it. It was noisy the first couple of weeks and settled down quite nicely. Took a few days to fill up ice maker which had me concerned at first. Now if we use a lot of ice it is back to full by morning. Love the lighting and the flush water dispenser. My husband uses it to fill keurig water container.

Well, our washing machine stopped working the other day. It would fill up with water, try to swish back and forth, but seemed very slow and almost stuck. By the time I got home, the water smelled funny from the wash. I tried to cycle it to the rinse and spin cycle to get the smelly water out at least, with no avail. I unplugged it, hoping it would reset. It would then start the wash cycle again, and it would chug a little then just hum, then stop and make an alarm - beeeeeep, beeep (like a fire alarm). So I emptied out the yucky water, and took out the clothes hoping maybe something was catching in it and it would start again. Chugged a little faster, but still stopped and wouldnt spin or drain. Emptied water again.Ok, Im tempted to take it apart but realized maybe it would void the warranty, so decided to google it and it directed me to this site. Boy was I in for a surprise. Based on the comments and reviews, I immediately thought of getting a new machine that was not Fisher Paykel. These units were bought for us in a new home in 2008 from the contractor, so I wasnt sure if my warranty was still good or not. To my surprise, I called the toll free number on this site, and immediately got a representative that deals directly with problems. No wait time. Lisa was very informative, patient, and understanding of the issue. We went through the flow sheet together to try and diagnose the issue. Still no resolution. She offered to send out a Fisher tech at a rate of $85.00 for the consultation and whatever time it would take them to fix it. She guessed maybe only 30 minutes.Lisa offered to supply the parts free of charge, although I might have been out of warranty. Parts could have ranged up to $350. I weighed out the cost versus buying a new unit, and I realize I still would be coming out ahead with the tech. Plus he would be there the next day. Tech showed up early at 9:30am and diagnosed that mattress pad material that we laundered and got stuck in the motor mechanism. Replace motor mechanism as a precaution but would have worked otherwise. Funny thing, I almost suspected that because after I removed the dirty stinky water, it smelled liked something was burnt due to being stuck. But once again, Im just a doctor and no handyman at all, but I still try to do things myself when I can. I always research first, then do.My experience with the company is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Lisa gets 5 stars, the 0.5 stars less was because the tech was there for only 10 minutes top and charged us $65 still? So I wasnt sure about that, but I wasnt home, and my wife didnt know what to expect. I would have challenged his rate, to see if he prorates it or not, but maybe they bill by the hour regardless. I wished he changed my control panel and water pump as a precaution because this seemed to be a known problem, but I wasnt there to ask him. Why? Because if that fails soon, then I will have to pay the service call again along with his time. I hope this doesnt happen, because I might not be so understanding after that. So my bills $150.00. Im very satisfied with how this went down. My machine works, but Im still cautiously optimistic about the longevity of this product. However, I do feel Fisher and Lisa will take care of me if future problems arise. Thanks Lisa, and good luck everyone!

I bought a Fisher and Paykel Eco-Smart wash machine May 2007. I paid $744.35 for the washer and I also bought an extended warranty. However, over the years I lost my receipt and of course no one could find where I paid for the extended warranty. I began having problems with the washer within a year. First several times, no problem. However the sixth year, this year in March, I was told that my washer was no longer under warranty and there was no extended contract on file. The reason I bought the extended contract was because the washer was already covered for 5 years and 2 extra years was very appealing given my previous experience with wash machines.I have been a home owner for 30 years and that was my 3rd wash machine. I have never paid that much money for a wash machine and had I known it was no better than any of the other (used) included, I would not have invested so much. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel and never another major appliance from Lowes.

We have had nothing but problems with this machine (top load washer)... It has mother boards replaced, water pumps, service people out a number of times, and again the water pump is out again and the company said they will give me a discount on a new one. They must think Im stupid. Why in the world would I want to purchase another with all the problems Im having with this one? The last water pump is right at a year old and it is out again. The company said they would not replace it again. I would have to buy it and have it replaced. There are only two people in our household and the cost every time the repair guy shows up ends up costing me more. It works very well when its working.

I bought a Fisher Paykel dryer model # DE62T7G. Do not buy! This dryer looks great and is sold as an energy efficient dryer. It breaks down constantly. We have had the heat coils replaced and the reset button replaced, after it took over 4 hours to dry clothes one year after purchasing the unit. Now it is no longer drying and makes a grinding sound as it cycles. We have already spent in excess of $200 dollars getting it repaired. This is a 2 year old dryer. Of course it is out of warranty and at his point why sink money into a lemon.

On the dryer I have replaced the plastic knob and the inside of the dryer is all cracked and peeling. I have had my water checked but these are the only appliances with a problem. Quality of plastic parts below zero. My Miele dishwasher is fine. I called F & P and the customer service rep suggested that I use harsh detergents, but I just use All detergent. No help. The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet co
The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

Three or maybe four service calls for reset tripping. Second reset is now on order for over a month. I have to take off cover and hit reset to dry clothes. If I get a fire, I will sue - be assured. Never F&P again. Lowes farms out service and they never report to F&P, so they have no record of failures. I see many posts with same problem with dryer, so it seems it’s a design defect. Weve had Fisher & Paykel. We really had bad luck but we love the washer. We got the washer and dryer maybe 60 years ago and we actually had a lot of problems but we love the way that its been so we chose to try it again so hopefully it will be better this time. I really like the other one better. This new one does a whole rinse and spin but it doesnt allow you to just spin. But I would say what I love the most about it is that the way it spins then still dry. Its a nice washer and dryer. But I do wish that you didnt have to do the whole rinse cycle for it to spin.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer from a local Lowes just about 3 years ago. When the new appliances were delivered, within the first week the dryer had to be replaced because the frame was bent out of shape and was not repairable. Our dryer stopped drying clothes in the last couple of months. We called the repairman who came and diagnosed the situation as the board had gone out and would need to be replaced as well as the reset switch. He told us our laundry room was a bit too small and that had caused the dryer to overheat. So why hadnt it done this in the last 3 years? The repair bill was over 300.00 dollars and the repairman suggested that we might need to leave the front cover off the dryer so it wouldnt overheat. He replaced the cover.Within the first month after the repair, it did it again so we took off the front cover and hit the reset switch and it worked again. The dryer blew the circuit breaker 2 weeks ago. 4 days ago, the dryer overheated and smelled hot throughout our upstairs. We unplugged the dryer and let it cool down. We have put well over $1000 in this dryer and it is not good. We will not purchase another Fisher Paykel appliance again and would not recommend this company to anyone.

When I phoned, the customer service representative hung up on me when I asked for a refund. I bought a Fisher & Paykel range on 11/9/11. It was delivered on 12/7/11. I moved into the house on 12/12/11. I had a spill over during the first week. The two front burners allowed spill to go into the mechanism, the orifice and into the burner. I am not happy with the design and feel that it is a design flaw. I have had over 50 years of experience with ranges and have never seen one like that that does not allow for cleaning. I contacted Big 1 for resolution. However, the cold water dispenser is not dispensing ice water. The water is at 62.5 degrees Fahrenheit. That is the same temperature of the water from the tap. We have well water which comes out at 62.5 degrees Fahrenheit. So the water is not being chilled. I may as well drink from the tap. How do you get this water colder? I regret ever getting rid of my old washer. It was dependable. I think this is a sub-standard product and after reading the reviews here, I see that I am not the only person that feels this way. You should not have to have service on such a new product as often as you do on this. I am in good mind to just junk it and go buy a cheap regular washer that I can depend on. My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

NEVER BUY! I cant stress enough not to make any purchases from this company. We purchased a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in 2008. We began having issues with the dryer while it was still in warranty, and the problems continued out of warranty. In fact, the dryer has been serviced at least four times in the three years we have owned it. We have spent many hundreds of dollars on repairs to this three-year old set. However, the most disturbing experience recently happened with our three-year old washer. An authorized repair person (Eastern Appliance), that the company referred misdiagnosed the problem (after a five-minute visual diagnosis, he identified code 49 as a drain pump); he never ordered the parts, and lied about the problem being resolved to Fisher and Paykel. After two weeks and several phone calls to the repair person, I ordered the drain pump and installed it myself. It turned out that code 49 is the motor control, not the drain pump. We spent money on the technician, and Fisher and Paykel wont take any responsibility to correct their authorized repairmans error. Their response is that the washer is out of warranty and is our problem. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced; they do not return phone calls, will not transfer you to a supervisor, and are completely unwilling to assist in resolving the problem. After four weeks and $50 in quarters for the Laundromat, Im still looking at a broken washing machine. We will NEVER purchase any other Fisher and Paykel products. This reinforced the importance of buying American products. Spend your money on any other company. You will be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and FRUSTRATED with any Fisher and Paykel purchase you make. The company has no integrity, and does not stand behind its products.

I purchased a FP washer & dryer in 2008 with good recommendations. What a disappointment! Noisy, noisy, noisy. Im embarrassed when we have company and they ask, Whats that noise? I am embarrassed to say its brand name. This is supposed to be a good washer and dryer. The washer is off balance with every load of sheets I wash and plenty of other loads. What an inconvenience to constantly try to re-balance the loads. Also, the design of the dispensers is awful. I have to take them apart and clean them because disgusting black stuff is lurking under the covers. The dryer takes so long to dry. The lint bucket is emptied after each load but about monthly, my husband has to take the lint filter assembly apart to clean the internal parts or the sensor gets covered and the dryer works even longer.Ive been using automatic washers and dryers for 42 years and have never been more dissatisfied. I will never recommend FP to anyone, in fact, my recommendation for an FP product would be to stay away!

We bought a washer and dryer and in December 2014. We paid a total of $2132.86 for the Fisher Paykel brand. The dryer broke within one month, it needs a new blower which will take 5 1/2 weeks for the part to come in. Very disappointed and frustrated with this expensive appliance and the service is very difficult to get. Actually, the line I strung up in my basement has been drying my clothes perfectly!

In 2006, I decided to upgrade a perfectly operating set of Maytag washer and dryer that I purchased in 1992. That included a set of Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. These units have been a problem from the beginning. I have the top load dryer. It got to the point to where the dealer could no longer help me. They even gave me a replacement after 2 years of ongoing problems. Now, the replacement is malfunctioning. I hate to say it, but these units are junk. I bought them because of reputation. But I will never ever recommend anyone buying them.

I replaced Fisher & Paykel dishwasher with the same brand item. The drawers are not of equivalent size. One is a little bit larger and the other one is a little smaller and Im actually liking it. I bought some of the appliances at the same time and there was a Fisher & Paykel rep there and I spoke to him and were playing around with it. So far I think its great. The last ones were not that great. I purchased a home with the dishwashers in the home and I did not call in the repairman.I decided that I was going to replace them because they were 10 years old but my understanding is to get them serviced is very difficult. I like the new ones better. I use these for dishes and they are very nice. Its in my second home so Ive used them only five times but from what Ive used so far, Id give them a five although Im afraid because I havent had to service them and I do hear little horror stories.

I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer.
I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer. It is 6 years old and 1 year out of extended warranty. I called the local factorys recommended shop on Thursday and Baker Appliance came out the next Monday. He ordered the part for regular delivery. A different repairman returned on Monday, a week later, to replace the electronic control unit. They discovered the wrong part was sent. He said the box had the correct part number on it but the part inside was incorrect. Does this happen a lot?My issue is, he told my wife they would ship the correct part the next day. I called them Tuesday to ask about the part delivery. The girl said she would check and call me back but never did. I left a message on Tuesday night and she called me back Wednesday morning and said she didnt have it yet. I called again and explained what the repairman had said. She asked someone in her office about it. She said they werent told and it would be another $50 for next day shipping. I then gave up.Wouldnt Fisher & Paykel absorb the additional cost if they shipped the wrong part? I spent more than $50 at the laundromat over the last 2 weeks. We have 5 people in our home.

Bought my Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer from a local retailer, 6 or 7 years ago. The washer sounds like an airplane going off and the dryer has been serviced three times. This time after only 6 or 7 years, the dryer will cost $450 to fix, plus the $117 service call. I paid what I thought was a fortune for them both, being told they were the best out there. I have hated them since I got them. I went yesterday and bought a $498 set of Whirlpool washer and dryer to replace them. I cant wait to get them. I am going to throw my Fisher & Paykel in the trash and tell everyone I know not to buy their products. The retailer even told me that they are not built to last more than 6 to 7 years. Its too expensive in the first place and then to find that out. Never again!

After waiting the whole day it for delivery, it was delivered 4:45 pm and left downstairs cause the delivery company, (which it seems to be separate to company that installs - very efficient) didnt know it needs to go to the 2nd floor (and no one asked - great communication NOT).Second time 2 guys got it upstairs and then I had to book a technician to install - No follow up service, and the guys that bring the dishwasher dont tell you anything about it. When I called to book the technician, I explicitly asked if the old dishwasher will be picked up on the same day and I was reassured it will, but guess what it wasnt! And now I need to take another day off for it to be picked up! In addition to this, the supervisor I talked to was rude and refused to put me to her manager, she just hang the phone me! So GOOD LUCK dealing with F&P.

Fisher-Paykel WL4227J1 - We purchased this machine, new, on 9/24/14. The machine worked well for 2 weeks & then developed a loud hum in the pump during the drain cycle. Once I was able to get a technician here a week later, it was confirmed that the pump was defective & needed to be replaced under warranty. Now for the part that angers me... The repair shop called back & stated that it would be another week to get the part, as F/P ships from AZ & that it would take 5 business days to arrive... Seriously? So I called F/P direct & was told that it would be 3-5 business days as the part ships from Huntington Beach, CA. Or, I could contact the retailer I purchased the machine from & ask them to exchange it... but that they were under no obligation to do so. Hello... customer service. Fisher & Paykel should be OVERNIGHTING a new pump to my retailer... not the 3-5 business days they stated as it is a brand new machine. How do they expect me to clean my clothes for the past 5 days plus the next week? Down with Fisher & Paykel!

We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I just bought them all this year so I dont know how they would behave in the future. The only thing is when I need a spare part, its really tough to find one.

Reading magazines like Bon Appétit, just going to stores and checking them out… I ended up buying a F&P DSC 305 Dual Fuel several years ago. It’s a a stove range. But then we moved and I wish I had taken it with me. But we moved again and I said, “That’s it, I’m getting another one.” My previous unit was very similar to what I have now. I bought it because of the quality last time and because the stove is a 5-burner and all of the burners, you can slide one from the other. Price was very good and certainly the BTU is where I want it to be, only this time the quality wasn’t as high. The oven wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it because the electric doesn’t get as hot as a gas would have. So it’s an excellent range, but a disappointing electric oven.

I’ve had a Fisher & Paykel set since 1999. I don’t know about now but the dryer I have is actually made by GE (General Electric). As at that time they didn’t make dryers. I have never had a problem with the dryer. When I bought the set from an appliance dealer, they told me it was easy and inexpensive to work on the washer, and the dryer was a GE. I had to replace the control panel on the washer, around 10 years in as I think lightning hit it. It was plug and play. I put it on and the part was $80. I let one of those color Catcher sheets get into my pump, as I tried to save and cut one in half for a small load, that caused a problem. Had to get it removed by a repairman. I would never buy an appliance from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Actually only an appliance store that has service department. You may save a little, but you lose it quickly down the road. It seems odd that 7 people on here have complaints. Fisher & Payless is actually made in New Zealand. I haven’t needed to call in 10 years, but the last time I spoke to someone in New Zealand. I wanted a Maytag when I bought this set, but they are no longer in business. They were bought out by Whirlpool. Too many problems with their products. I try to buy top of the line.... My builder put GE Profile appliances in my house, and they have been fine since 1999. However I do take care of my things, and they take care of me. Something I was taught by my parents 50+ years ago....

From the day I purchased my Fisher Paykel washer, it leaked. I had service techs out at least 5 or 6 times to repair it. First, they told me I was using too much laundry detergent. So I cut it in half. That was wrong, it still leaks. After 2 years, now, it has started making a high-pitched squealing sound. First, it started only when it started filling, then when it started to spin, and now all the time. It still leaks. Thank goodness, I was smart enough after the first flood to purchase a drain pan to sit it in, or I would be replacing floors constantly. The agitator has had to be replaced 3 times already. I would not recommend any Fisher Paykel appliances to anyone. The company is no help at all and the appliance store ( Maidencreek TV & Appliance, Reading, Pa) are useless. Their service techs are hopeless, as to what to do to fix the problem. They recommended I purchase an extended warranty since I was having so much trouble with the unit. If you want to throw your money away, just purchase a Fisher Paykel appliance. My new GE washer and dryer arrives on Friday. I told my husband to leave the washer in the yard and every time I use my new unit, I want to beat the Fisher Paykel with a sledge hammer and after that, I want to hook a chain to it and drag it behind my truck.

Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximately 4 years ago. During the four years, weve had the lint scraper replaced two times. It has broken again. When the lint scraper breaks, all of the lint from your clothes ends up getting caught inside the mechanism of the dryer or pushed out the dryer vent. We typically know we have a problem when the clothes stop drying in a timely manner; little lint is in our lint trap and the dryer vent has visible lint blocking it from the exterior of the house. It is somewhat surprising this dryer has not caused a fire. Ive had enough of worrying about lint getting trapped in our dryer vent and/or our lint trap breaking. The lint trap works perfectly for a short time frame, but the design and materials are not nearly robust enough for the premium you pay for this product. There is absolutely no question, this is the absolute worst appliance or piece of equipment Ive every purchased. I would give the dryer 0 stars if that was an option.

Over the course of three years we have had 6 service calls on the Fisher Paykel dish drawer dishwasher. The hoses crack and water has leaked onto my wood floor causing damage 3 times. Another time, the electric board needed replacing, and just two weeks ago the entire magnet and inner workings on the top drawer need to be replaced. The total cost of this last repair is $600. Before this current dishwasher, we owned the first generation Fisher Paykel dish drawer. It was as horrible as our current one. There is absolutely no customer service or help from Fisher Paykel. They blame every defective part and problem on the water, or detergent, or operator error etc. Do not ever buy a Fisher Paykel unless you have piles of money and time lying around. After checking with several local appliance companies I finally located one that said that they did work on Fisher Paykel dishwasher. After three visits during one month and after replacing several parts the serviceman finally gave up and said I cannot fix it, please call the factory service.I did send an email to Fisher Paykel service department and I received an immediate response confirming my request and 2 days later the service call was confirmed. The friendly service man arrived early (something very unusual for servicemen). It took one look at the dishwasher, did a five-minute software diagnostic, remove the front cover of the top dishwasher and point at the control box and said that is what is wrong. One small plastic tab of the control box was broken and the box was loose. He explained that because the age of the dishwasher the plastic becomes brittle and started to break. Gave me the price of the new box, very reasonable and mentioned he had one on his truck. He went ahead to get the new box. Close the cover, tested the dishwasher and he was out to the next service call in 20 minutes. It cost me $330 for a job well done. Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is not with getting the appliances serviced. I am fortunate to have a local repair service company that is responsive, trained on these appliances, and does quality work. From the posts I have read, this does not appear to occur often. My issue is with the reliability and quality of the Fisher Paykel products themselves. The washer is model GWL11W and the repair occurred about 12 months ago. As many others have posted, the water pump went out, dripped onto wiring for the computer panel, which in turn caused the computer panel to fail. I was told that this was because of a design flaw and the repair kit incorporated a design change that would prevent the computer panel from shorting out if the water pump should ever go out again. The parts and labor for the repair cost over $400, but given the cost of replacing a high efficiency washer, I decided to go ahead and get it fixed. Granted, the washer was 5 years old at the time, but really, a washer should last longer than 5 years. Now the dryer, model DE08US, needs to be repaired. The timer will not advance in the automatic settings. The sensor bars and sensor board needed to be replaced. This repair, with parts and labor, will come to $387. I have already spent $188 on the prior service call to have the problem diagnosed and have the dryer disassembled, cleaned, and two glides replaced. Given the cost of new dryers, I cannot justify spending what would come to $575 to repair this dryer. The dryer is 6 years old but again a dryer should not cost $575 in parts and labor to maintain within the first 6 years of ownership. At the moment, the dryer is still drying and the timer is still advancing in the timed setting, so I will use it until it stops. Of course, the dryer has now started making an annoying squealing sound, so it will likely stop sooner than later. I should mention that washer and dryer get light usage, 2-4 loads a week, and the loads of laundry are not large or bulky. Even the repair technician commented that both the washer and dryer are well maintained. Yet my Fisher Paykel washer has already cost me hundreds of dollars in parts and repair. If I was willing to invest in repairing the dryer, the same could be said about that appliance. However, that is not going to happen. It was a mistake to spend my hard-earned money on Fisher Paykel appliances and I do not intend to throw good money after bad. When it is time to purchase a new dryer or washer (or any other appliance for that matter), the brand will not be Fisher Paykel. The quality and reliability are disappointing and I wont get fooled again.

I thought it was going to be a horrendous start because the ovens wouldnt work. There was one plug that was not plugged in from the factory. The technician came, plugged in the plug and I have loved them ever since. They are not the cost of other high end ovens, but are great quality. Fantastic! Easy to clean. Easy to use.

My first F&P dryer worked fine for a year and then continually tripped thermal switches. One actually has to remove a panel to reset this as it is not accessible from the outside of the dryer. F&P finally replaced this (well, I got a new dryer for the privilege of paying them $250 for the prorated use of the old dryer). I also spent another $250 re-venting the dryer because they were concerned that the venting that worked fine for my 25 year old Maytag was insufficient for their unit. Dryer #2 developed a bearing squeak--quiet at first but now is extremely loud. The tech from the company that sold me the dryer claims the bolt is frozen and the bearing cannot be replaced or at least cannot be replaced for a service call cheaper than half the price of actually replacing the dryer. Meanwhile, THAT store has ceased selling the product and no longer will work on F&P machines. The tech recommended by F&P after this told me the same thing and recommended that I save my money and buy Samsung.

We purchased an F&P EcoSmart Washer and Dryer set in 2009. Six months later, the dryer began making high-pitched squeaking noises. We figured it was the design and just covered our ears when drying clothes. The squeaking turned into moaning, and the moaning turned into unbearable metal-on-metal gnashing - its abhorrent. To top it off, the dryer drum has now shifted off of the tracks, meaning that it must be manually forced back onto the tracks and pried open with human hands.Im sick of fighting my dryer for custody of my clothes. I contacted F&P about this last month, and they told me to contact an authorized F&P service company. One hundred dollars an hour to diagnose the problem, plus $100 an hour for repairs, plus parts? No, thanks. Id rather go buy a new Kenmore. Until that lovely day, I ensure everyone who steps foot in my house and hears the travesty in the laundry room knows its a Fisher and Paykel!

We had gone to the showroom and we were constrained to the size of the refrigerator that we could use according to our existing cabinetry and the Fisher & Paykel that we bought was the perfect size. I also wanted a bottom freezer refrigerator. We were looking for a high end appliance and were aware that Fisher & Paykel is one. Its a much higher end appliance and were both very happy with it. I like the way it looks and the way its built. There is nothing about it I dont like. Its a fabulous appliance.

I was renovating my apartment and so I was replacing everything. When I went in to the distributor to buy a refrigerator, the distributor showed me Fisher Paykel and I liked it. It seemed to have the features I wanted. It had the proper dimensions that I needed to fit in the kitchen and it was stainless steel. It seemed to be fine. The only objection I would have to it is they have a very strange design in so far as their water filter is concerned. I never would have bought the thing had I not been doing a major renovation because they mount the water filter outside the refrigerator. While all the other manufacturers, you just screw the filter in inside the refrigerator and youre done with it. But you need a plumber to put the thing together. And the plumber basically who put it in initially was not familiar with it, so he installed it incorrectly. I had to have him take it out and redo the installation. But its worked.I havent had it very long. Its fine for me right now. The longevity of the thing is going to be important because in the past few years, I have not had luck with refrigerators and they dont seem to last. So well see if this one lasts. I did, which I never had done before, take a long term contract out of the thing. Overall, I would give my friend the caveat that you may have an issue with needing a plumber to install the thing rather than just having the distributor come and install it because of that filter. In fact, the crazy thing is I have the refrigerator obviously in my kitchen, but the water filter is in my bathroom because you have to mount the filter very close to the source of water.

A Fisher and Paykel technician came to my home to replace rear wheels of my refrigerator. Somehow he broke the coolant chamber that released gas and liquid anti freeze. He became irate loudly swearing. He informed me that my refrigerator would be replaced. That was on Tuesday the 23 June. I have not received a replacement and have been told that I would be paid what I paid for the refrigerator when the damaged one is picked up. I am a senior citizen with limited income and cannot afford to pay what it now cost. I feel that I am made to suffer for the technicians incompetence. I need someone to advocate for me please.

We went to an appliance store down in Houston and we had tested several washers. Fisher Paykel is what we first bought. We found out the ease of the repair and the warranty so we bought a washer. And then my dishwasher went out and I needed a new one so we went to the same place. Since we had such good luck with the washing machine, we went with the dishwasher also. I love the new models - love the efficiency. I love that they dont use a whole lot of water or energy and the results of the clean are as good, if not better, than a model that uses all the water and all the electricity. It doesnt cost me a million dollar to have them repaired. My experience has been fantastic. Ive had one problem with my washing machine and it was very easy to take a part and we found a YouTube video and took it apart and replaced the part ourselves. So instead of having someone come out and we have to pay them $120 just to look at it, for $60 for the part and everything, it was done and over within 15 minutes.

I have an F&P EcoSmart washer and dryer. Over the past 3 years of use, Ive had the heating element on the dryer replaced 3 times. Even though the element itself is always under warranty, F&P says I still have to pay over $100 to have a tech diagnose what I already know the problem to be, then wait 2 weeks for the part and again pay the tech to install it. I have slate floors in my laundry room and the appliance tech told me I need to wear shoes because the way the element is set, it could sag and easily hit the floor, causing electrical shock. How unsafe is that? But now after only 4 years of use, my washer has totally died. I noticed the pump was short-cycling when trying to drain the water. When water did drain for about 2 seconds, there was no blockage. Then the control panel completely died within an hour. Now I have no washer, my four grandchildren live with me and my brother, who I have not seen for nearly 10 years, is coming in from overseas with his wife and 3 children to stay for 2 weeks during the holidays. I live in a rural area and the nearest laundry mat is 30 miles away. I cant even afford to get the tech out until after the holidays, but even if I could it would still take 2 weeks to get the parts, if its even able to be repaired. So what am I supposed to do? Thanks for the happy holidays, F&P!

Fisher and Paykel make good products. The reason why I had to finally contact their service department was because after 17 years of faithful service, early in May of this year our washing machine lid broke a hinge. So I contacted them, provided make, model and serial number and a description of the fault. On 31st May their serviceman came. He had no knowledge of the make, model and serial number or the fault, so had no parts with him to effect a repair, but nevertheless charged us $125 and said he would be back within the week. We havent seen him since. Three weeks elapsed. I rang F & Ps 24/7 line and asked politely what was going on. They said they had contacted their parts depot and they would get back to me within the week with an ETA for the lid and the serviceman. They did not do this. Finally on Wednesday I rang them again and intimated in no uncertain terms that I was extremely annoyed with the situation. They told me that the serviceman would get back to me that afternoon. They lied. He hasnt. So I am drawn to the reluctant conclusion that this companys after-sales service department is staffed by a bunch of people whose sole reason for going to work is to get paid, and employs tradespeople of a similar mindset. My recommendation? Do not buy Fisher and Paykel - their products are fine, but if they break down they will not service them, and they will charge you for the privilege of not servicing them.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer set about 5 years ago and today went out and bought a new set by Whirlpool. I have had problems with the dryer for the past 4 years and have had it repaired several times. The clothes in the dryer came out covered in black grease and oil and my story is similar to others. Then last week the washer started malfunctioning and that was the end of Fisher Paykel for me. I agree with those who said they are done with Fisher Paykel... If you want a dependable washer and dryer DO NOT buy FP! Very disappointed!

I purchased a brand new F&P washer and dryer. We really do like them, and we have had no problems except the dryer tumbling issue which others have had. Last year in September, the dryer made loud grinding noises and then parts fell onto the laundry in the dryer. We replaced the parts and again the parts broke off onto the laundry in the dryer. I am checking to see if F&P will pay for these parts or if there is a consumer class action out there we can join. Can anyone give us information on this subject? Thank you!

The Fisher Paykel refrigerator model E522B is made with junk plastic parts
The Fisher Paykel refrigerator model E522B is made with junk plastic parts that continue to break, and we are not rough on our appliances, as we are senior citizens, and previously owned a Frigidaire refrigerator, that lasted us over 25 years without one repair. However, in one year this Fisher Paykel refrigerator has had the following parts replaced: the rear caster wheels (broken on delivery), the plastic cover on the freezer door (broken when replacing the stripped freezer door handle), the plastic door closer under the door hinge has broken twice now, and a foam insulation kit was installed to help reduce the popping noises from the compressor. F&P customer service takes its good old time in responding to online inquiries about their products, and makes you jump through hoops, before they respond. They dont believe you, even after you register the product online with them, and inform them of how many times the unit was serviced as they still ask for proof (now want photos and receipts), when something breaks. Dont they have a computer system that logs the reimbursements they have made to service repair companies on their products? This will be our last purchase of New Zealand made junk as they seem to have no pride with craftsmanship!

This is the third F+P 2-drawer dishwasher we bought; two of them are in our rental flats in London, England. Both have been okay and the service in London was excellent. The one we have in Pennsylvania, I knew when it was problematic there would be no service. These hicks here dont even know what the brand name is.F+P New Zealand recommended two service companies. First, one guy never heard of the equipment but booked his in law to do the service. On the day of the service after waiting a week, the wife of the guy said he has the flu and must cancel. We have been down since Christmas day and its now the 9th of Jan. She didnt know when he could reschedule. The other one had an answering service and I left a message 10 days ago and again twice today, the 10th. The service leads you to a message that says leave your number which I did now 3 times. And if we want faster service, email them at a certain address which we did only to get a message that 10 days ago they changed their address to something else. Still no calls. This is hopeless and I do not recommend anyone to buy this unit in the US unless you are in the bigger cities where service companies are plentiful and they know the products. I loved the unit until I tried to get it serviced. I will never buy another and we own 46 properties.

We heard about Fisher & Paykel through the RV manufacturer. We custom designed and had built a fifth wheel for us to travel as we do extensive traveling. I did a lot of research and went to different online appliance stores that sold or dealt with the brand. After reading and finding out a couple of things, I decided to go with that particular model. It was all the good reviews not only on the online website that sold numerous appliances but the people who also purchased an RV like us who have installed and used them too that was the deciding factor. The dishwasher is fabulous and very quiet. You never know its running. Its amazing and is absolutely a dream come true. I love it. Its the best appliance that we made a decision to have installed. It makes life easy and works really well. The performance is spectacular.
