We bought a French door freezer on the bottom lovely refrigerator. 11 months from purchase it quit making ice and would not keep things frozen. The repairman replaced all of the parts in the refrigerator. It was as good as new. Yah right. Now six weeks later it is starting the same thing. I just called and demanded we get a new refrigerator. Oh they cant do that, they only repair their screw ups not replace them. I would love to get a class action lawsuit going. We spent more than $2000 for a piece of crap. I know reading other problems that others have spent much more. The company that is ruining the KitchenAid name should be put out of business. They used to be a high end appliance. Give me your thoughts. Thank you.

I purchased a Dual Fuel Range, Microwave and Dishwasher all at the same time. The dishwasher 2 years 1 month old. The motor went on this appliance. I called Kitchen Aid, they put me in touch with a repair company. A $ 500.00 repair!!! Dont spend your money on Kitchen Aid, buy a cheaper model and throw it out. I called Kitchen Aid and they offered nothing!!! Kitchen Aid will never get another dime of my business. Model KDTE234GPSO.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of 2011 by the previous owners of the home we purchased in March 2013. I started having problems in December 2014 with the dishwasher running about 10 minutes then stopping. Called Lowes who had sold the dishwasher. The previous owners had purchased a 4 year extended warranty, but Lowes wouldnt honor this because we werent the ones who bought the dishwasher. Just another rip off of getting out of honoring the warranty. Repairman came out and ran all the diagnostic codes. Came back and replaced the console. This didnt fix the problem. Called again. Still running intermittently. Sometimes completed cycle and sometimes not. He came and replaced the sensor. Meanwhile the rollers and glide holding the top rack started to break. As I see on this site, that seems to be a common problem. Called back to get repairman to come again and mentioned the rack problem and was told the company had a call back on the rack parts. So repairman came and replaced all the broken parts for the rack, ran codes again and said it might be the control. He got into the control and took off and reattached every wire and found no problems but said it might be the control. I ran the dishwasher again, and it quit after about an hour. Restarted it with no detergent in it, and it still didnt complete the cycle. Called back today and was told they could order the control, at a cost of $189. To date, I have spent $378.81 with another $200 part ordered and still have a dishwasher that doesnt work. The original dishwasher cost $773.19 so I will soon have an all redone dishwasher that may still not work. This is absolutely unforgivable. I have had about 3 dishwashers in 2 other houses in 40 years and NEVER had any of these kinds of problems. I was always led to believe Kitchen Aid was a top of the line dishwasher. This one is NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD and has almost cost its original purchase price! I want to see something done about this by the company. And I will NEVER, repeat NEVER purchase another Kitchen Aid product.

KitchenAid stove - KESA907PSS (ARCHITECTSERIES). Almost burned my house down last night - 10-05-2016. Well one of the knobs got stuck on this stove and had a mind of its own sometimes. I worked on and off. Then last night I was cooking on one stove top and baking at the same time all of a sudden the panel got piping hot and started to smoke. Could not touch the panel and I smelled fire and then I lost power to the stove. I read reviews about this particular model and two people said that it caught on fire and they caught it in time. I threw it away and I will never buy this brand again. I paid 1500 dollars for this slide in glass top stove. I dont know why KitchenAid is not standing behind their products. Why dont they admit there is a problem with the stove and recall it. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID.

In January of 2013 I bought a KUDE70FXSS dishwasher. It was a top line model and I wanted to buy local. The racks are now rusting out as they come with nonpermanent little plastic caps at the end of the racks. We didnt realize they were gone and now the whole rack is starting to rust to the point where new caps wont fit on the racks. How wonderful! I paid over $1400.00 for this unit and now its rusting out. What a poor design. KitchenAid or my supplier P.C. Richard wont cover it because its considered cosmetics . I should have bought a German dishwasher! Im disgusted! You try to do the right thing!

KDTE404DSP0 - We are on week 4 now without a working dishwasher. It keeps shutting off on its own as if the door had been opened. The service tech has replaced every mechanical or electrical part on the machine without success. He just cant get the needed technical support from KitchenAid. They now have to remove it and take it to the repair shop. The wall oven KEMS309 convection oven failed in just a few months. The fan bushing failed making the oven sound like a helicopter was landing in the kitchen. From day one when the side by side refrigerator KSC24C8Eyp02 was delivered with the wrong handles and door was scratched with a buffer or something UNDER the stainless steel factory protective plastic cover. KitchenAid appliances have been 13 months of hell.

With only 23 months of use, two of your KitchenAid products have failed. One, an Architect series refrigerator, quit and we were told the replacement part would not be available until January of 2020 (not typo). They had only 3 rebuilt computer control boards in the country and agreed to send one with a promise to return my bad one. Done. Now my Architect series oven/ microwave unit has been out since January of 2015. The service company they recommended has been out four times replacing parts they suggested and sent to them, with me only paying the service fees, and it still does not work. The tech department says they do not know how to fix it. They say to replace it. I have been offered a replacement for the small sum of $1,800 for a $3,650 unit I was able to use for 2 years and is not repairable now. It has an internal communication problem, code F6E0. Why would I buy another unit from a company that cannot repair what they sell. Take 5 minutes and Google error code F6E0, there are hundreds of complaints about the same code in all Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands and none have been repaired. Every appliance I have is KitchenAid, never will I buy another nor would I ever recommend them. I plan to post this notice everywhere I see KitchenAid or Whirlpool listed. Before anyone buys from Whirlpool or any of their brands, Google this error code first.

We purchased 4 KitchenAid appliances for our kitchen and also a washer and dryer. 1 year later, the control panel went bad in the dishwasher so we called Whirlpool. They sent a repairman to service the dishwasher, upon his arrival he informed me the control panel was no good and this was a regular problem with this model and whirlpool is aware of this. He told us we would probably have to replace this yearly. Well 1 year later same problem again and we are getting stuck paying 180 dollars for labor on an appliance that is only 2 years old. Argued with Whirlpool and they said sorry its your problem.

I bought a new KitchenAid dishwasher and within 6 months the dishwasher was not cleaning and leaving residue all over the glasses and dishes. It has ruined all off glass ware. We have had numerous service calls and nobody has been able to fix the problem. They keep telling us it is the detergent, so we switched and we still have the same problem. They then told us that there is a problem with all detergents but nobody with a 30-mile radius seems to have the problem we are having with the now 12-month old dishwasher. I called customer service and they told us there is nothing they can do and we are stuck with this bad dishwasher. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance and will actively tell people that there service and product sucks.

After purchasing and installing a new Kitchenaid Architect Series II convection wall oven (KEBS109SS), the noise from the convection fan was overwhelming. I removed the oven from the wall and opened the rear panel when I noticed that the fan motor was loose. Further investigation helped me determine that the mounting screws were accessible from the inside of the oven by removing the panel covering the fan. Once I tightened the mounting screws, the sound from the convection fan is almost unnoticeable. I can understand the complaints made from other Kitchenaid owners concerning the irritating fan noise. Hopefully, this simple repair will eliminate their problem so they too can enjoy their ovens too.

First thing I did was google the problem and it looks like Im not the only one that has encountered this, and that is an understatement. There were literally hundreds of accounts of the same thing happening. I contacted Kitchenaid and they told me that there has not been a recall on my range (model KGSA906PSS00) and that there was no known problem...really?? I called KitchenAid service and spoke to a supervisor. I told her that I have had one of their fridges for under 4 years, and had purchased the extended warranty. She expressed no interest in looking at photos of the hundreds of small rusty colored spots all over the front of my fridge. She did not seem interested in finding out what caused them. She told me I would have to pay for a service call, as they only warranty cosmetic damage for 30 days. I have always used stainless steel cleaner on my appliances and the fridge is the only appliance that has these dots. KitchenAid offered to help whatsoever. Today I phoned for my 4th service call for this 2 year old KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS30FXSS. It simply doesnt clean the dishes, leaving a food residue on mainly the top rack of dishes. Each time, the serviceman has cleaned out the chopper and pump (beware: there is no removable filter for this model) and it cleans for a few weeks, then we start washing by hand until I can find a time to stay home for another service person to come out to do the same thing. Even though I purchased the 4 year extended warranty, KitchenAid has denied this 4th claim. I have been a loyal KitchenAid customer, and will be replacing this dishwasher with different brand. We remodeled our kitchen in July of 2006. We installed all new KitchenAid appliances. The slide-in gas range/oven (model # KGSA906PSS01) is a terrible product. I had 2 service calls on the oven in the first few years. Once the 5 year warranty had expired the motherboard had to be replaced, followed by the gas valve, the sparker module and the gas range circuits. Buying a new oven now seems like a smarter move. The customer service was unsympathetic and didnt even try to stand by their product.

We have a KitchenAid Double Wall Oven purchased at Sears in 2001. Just now, fully out of the ten year warranty. Its model no. YKEBSDB3 and serial no. YK210XXXX.This unit has been nothing but trouble since we got it and we are at the point of replacing it. In Canada, this unit sells for over $3500.00. I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

Broken adjuster assembly KUDE40FXSS3 - Just under two years old and this is our third problem with this KitchenAid dishwasher. First the electronic locking latch stopped working properly. Then the dishwasher wouldnt drain properly. And now the rolling wheel mechanism of the upper rack (adjuster assembly) is broken. New fridge delivered 1/30/19. 2/9/19 freezer completely covered in ice, day 15 freezer still not properly working. Called Kit Aid/Whirlpool & they said “we’re slammed”. They couldn’t tell me if it was in warranty. Told me to look at my manual. After many calls, a new fridge was delivered. They took fridge out of box to find one upper door was significantly damaged. Their answer was to take door off the one being returned & replace the damaged door. 8 months later freezer items are melting & refrigerator temp goes to 45 degrees. Thermostat is replaced. January 2020 freezer drawer & ice very loose. Won’t stay in place- another service call. February 2020 everything in freezer is melted again-another service call. Now, there is rust on the outside of the freezer door, and the top left door doesn’t seal well at all. The seals on both sides are torn. I was told that might be expected on a 15 year old appliance but certainly not on an 18 mos old fridge. I suspect when they swapped out the door from the broken fridge it didn’t fit correctly. Also, KA said I must have used abrasive cleaners & brushes for the rust to appear. That has never happened. We have been extremely careful to use only water and soft cloth to wipe. Their insinuation is insulting.I have been given names, emails, phone #s at Whirlpool, at All South Appliance etc. The customer service is lousy, non-exsistent in fact. After sending multiple pictures to different people, I have been told they cannot extend warranty coverage (I had been told twice that was probably how it would be handled). To say I am irate is an understatement. Never buy a KA. It doesn’t matter that you spent $3000 for what you expected to be high quality. It is junk and corporate KA/Whirlpool could care less.

Bought a KitchenAid model # kffs20EYBL00 in 2012. This refrigerator has given me nothing but grief since 2012. I bought an extended warranty on this refrigerator and glad I did, have had to use it numerous times. The back of the freezer will freeze up, makes this running noise that sounds like a motor is running and the upper refrigerator isnt as cold as it should be. They have had to repair this 5 times in 2012 to 2013. 2014 and 2015 probably 2 times and now 2016 we are getting repaired once again. I am very frustrated with this refrigerator. I not only have had issues with the freezer, but the shelving in this refrigerator is junk.I have had two shelves break so far. Its just junk! I dont recommend KitchenAid anymore. Maybe in the 80 and 90s this was a good brand but not any longer. Looking at buying a new one, hate too since this one cost me of $1600.00 and 4 yrs of grief. Stay away from KitchenAid and Whirlpool. They are made by same company from what I have been told by companies I am looking at for a new refrigerator!

My three-year-old twin-door freezer is giving me many headaches and nobody seems to know what is going on or how to fix it. The problem is that about every two weeks, it freezes a cold air passage between the freezer and the refrigerator, blocking it with solid ice, causing it to make a stronger noise than normal and finally going into over temperature alarm since the refrigerator keeps going up in temperature. In fact there is a recall of the clamp on certain models but not mine... However it is the same clamp. Kitchen Aid refuses to admit that it is a similar problem even though I now have a blue dot on the model number plate indicating that the clamp has been replaced. I have had repairs to appliances and never have I noticed that unless it is a recall.

I did not know KitchenAid made dishwashers until we had to shop for a new one. I have a KitchenAid mixer and I love it. I love the KitchenAid dishwasher also. It is very quiet. It takes twice as long to run the wash cycle, but being quiet as it is I do not notice the time. Washes good, too. Dishes always come out clean as ever!

On my third compressor with 2 year old unit. Lost a lot of food due to delay getting repaired. KitchenAid said they would send me a claim form by US Mail and email. So far nothing received after Twitter and Facebook complaints and calling their 800 number. The Service Tech told me these refrigerators are poorly made and essentially junk. KitchenAid has lied to me and is unresponsive. Will never buy any of their products and sending my review to everyone on my email account.

Update - In my November 5 complaint, I reported ice freezing on the floor of my KitchenAid freezer followed by water on the floor in front of the freezer after the freezer floor depression filled up. In another customer review with the same problem, the culprit turned out to be a duck-billed grommet and it was the same solution to my problem. What mystified me about my problem was that I could find no drain in the bottom of my unit that would have the duck-billed grommet attached to it that was prone to freeze up and stop the draining. It turns out the culprit is not in the bottom of the freezer, but several inches up and behind the back panel of the freezer. Our responding technician was very well versed regarding our problem and had the fridge fixed in about a half hour. This was no job for a reasonably competent homeowner to take on as it required a lot of dismantling, ice-chipping and hot water to fix before a new, improved grommet could be installed, which by itself took about 30 seconds to install from around behind the refrigerator. It seems that maybe more than a few of my model refrigerators were shipped with a defective grommet that has since been upgraded, so maybe complaints such as mine will become a thing of the past. At any rate, our fridge seems to be humming along just fine now. Thank you, KitchenAid telephone person, for setting up a service call that seems to have solved our problem.

4 years ago when we built our new home, we bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher - retailed at $1800. The big attraction was how quiet it was supposed to be - and it is. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. The cycle times are also erratic. Sometimes it will take 4 hours! to go through a normal wash cycle, and others maybe 2. It has seemed to clean well, and it is quiet. But... the ridiculous lack of dependability makes KitchenAid no longer a desirable product.

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. My 20 year old dishwasher was far more reliable than this overpriced hunk of junk!

I purchased a full set of Kitchenaid appliances 2 years ago. My purchase included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave. Close to $10,000 worth of appliances. My experience with the refrigerator and Kitchenaids support had been a nightmare. (For clarification, Im middle aged, this is the 5th home I have owned and remodeled in my lifetime, and I consider myself reasonably intelligent with reasonable expectations.) I have had issues with the refrigerator within the first month of installation. - The water dispenser was and is incredibly loud. You can hear it on the other side of house. The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done - The ice maker would randomly defrost and leak all over the floor: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done. If the left door was left slightly ajar, the alarm would not go off: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was the design, and that one particular door is impacted and there was nothing wrong with the unit. - The lights on the inside of the unit would randomly not work, but then work 1 hour to 2 days later: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a head-scratcher, But because it was functioning when he looked at it, nothing to be done.I decided to purchase an extended warranty because I was already nervous about the longevity of the unit. During that extended warranty time, the previously mentioned items continued. Three weeks after the warranty expired, the unit basically died. It would randomly defrost the entire freezer and only come back on by flipping the breaker several times. The interior lights would not work about 30% of the time and the water dispenser would randomly stop working. When the freezer would start to thaw, so would the ice in the icemaker... and leak all over the floor. I had a different repair person come out. I was not going to have the same useless waste of time company come out if it was going to be out of my pocket. They replaced the entire motor. It worked for two days, and started the process again. They then replaced one of the primary computer boards. $1100 later, it worked for 3 weeks and then started thawing, defrosting, lights off, etc again. The thing is either possessed or a total lemon.

I have been purchasing KitchenAid thinking about high reputation of the company. I bought all my KitchenAid appliances (refrigerator, gas range, microwave, dishwasher) at PC Richards 15 months ago. We are the family of two adults, so you can imagine that we use this dishwasher twice a week at the most. However, after 15 months of such rare uses the dishwasher failed. I rinse off the dishes every time before running the cycle but for the past couple of weeks all the dishes are not clean at all after even running two cycles. I tried to resolve the issue by calling PC Richards but all they told me that the service technician will cost me $125 to evaluate the problem. Apparently I am stuck with the product failed to operate after a bit over a year. I am extremely upset that the company doesnt stand behind the product they produce and will never buy KitchenAid products again.

This unit did not work particularly well from the start. Lightly soiled dishes were not clean, even after the excruciating 3.5 hour cycle. A foul smell developed as old water would not clear the system despite regular cleaning of the filters. A pump broke after only 2 months. It was fixed under warranty, but the performance was still poor. Just after a year, the end of the warranty, the pump broke again. We decided to junk it. Why throw good money after bad? Our previous dishwasher (Kenmore) lasted 18 years without a repair. The gaskets went and it was looking tired, but still cleaned well. The KitchenAid did not work well from the start and was nothing but trouble. KitchenAid customer service was no help as well.

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

After installing a Kitchenaid Microwave Convection oven we found that the door steamed to total fog, remaining this way often for 24-30 hours. After a service call and a recommendation to replace the unit by the service people, the exchange was denied by the product exchange department - who did not even have the grace to call and tell me of the denial. After protesting that 24-30 hours is not acceptable for a door to fog over (never has happened with any other microwave oven I have owned) was not normal, I was told point blank that the product exchange department has the last word and it is final. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in June 2011, model number KUDE70fvss2, and I have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it because KitchenAid is notoriously quiet and I live in a smaller home and I did not want to hear noise all over my house. Nothing has fallen off or apart, but this dishwasher has never and I do mean not one time cleaned my dishes properly. All dishes and glasses are left with stuck on food. Lipstick never comes off of cups, glasses or silverware. All glassware is cloudy with all kinds of drinking matter still inside. I have to wash everything by hand when the cycle is over... I have had the repair and warranty people out too many times to mention. Water that runs through is scalding. I use recommended products and have even made my own hoping something would help. Alas, this seems like nearly $2k down the drain. Anyone else with this problem? We purchased the KA model KFIS29BBMS02 in December 2013. We noticed it was rather noisy but we were told that refrigerators make some noise. We have already had technicians out 4 times. They have replaced the evaporator fan motor on July 25 for a flapping noise. That noise is still present. We have a high pitched whirring noise that happens a few times each day. We have found out the mostly constant humming noise is the compressor, as it is always running. We have been told at todays appointment that the compressor needs to be replaced since it is apparently leaking Freon and will hopefully keep working until the repairman can get the part - which is on back order because so many have needed to be replaced!!!! We have also had to replace the touch pad control panel as it popped out of the front of the fridge! After 9 months, we are still unsatisfied with the refrigerator and the KitchenAid brand. My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel failure twice now. The first time it’s just the oven that would not light and one of the panels (there are evidently 3) was faulty and was replaced under warranty. The second time the electronic control panel short-circuited and turned on the convection fan, which got red hot. Sparks and smoke were coming from under the burners, which is where the panels are located. I was not using the stove at all, but thankfully I was home! I was able to throw the circuit breaker in the basement. When the stove stopped glowing red, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. The repairman that first came is no longer available. I have not been able to find anyone that has a card for both electric and gas. Customer service expressed regret that they could not help me find a repairman, but said to let them know should I find one. What? I will not repair this stove. I consider it an extremely dangerous appliance and do not want it in my house. I feel that Whirlpool should do everything they can to correct the situation for other consumers. The repairman came and opened the back of the oven and realized that there was a fuse (?) that hadnt been pushed in during the assembly and then thought this would be the resolution but the self clean feature scrolled across still saying, feature not available. So next the repairman felt that there must be a computer issue with the stove so he ordered a new panel after speaking to the engineers at Kitchenaid and the next time he came he installed the new one and again the self cleaning feature wasnt available. The repairman had spent at least two hours of time at my place on the two visits he made and I was stressed with what my bill was going to be. He left my house not knowing what to do next and told me he was going to speak with Kitchenaid on my behalf as something was extremely wrong with how this stove was working or should I say not working. I got a telephone call later that afternoon from the repairman who told me that the engineers at Kitchenaid had found what they thought was the problem. Apparently if the power to the stove is interrupted as in unplugging the stove (which was done each time the repairman did anything to the stove) or a power outage, the stove goes through electronic checks to prevent damage and will not self clean for 10 minutes after the power has resumed and will say the feature isnt available. This is not written in any manual, and apparently it was found by the engineers in a small written place in their information. This was a new problem they hadnt ever encountered because obviously no one has come in from a power outage and started cleaning their stove within 10 minutes of the power coming back on.In the end, it looks like the fuse that hadnt been plugged in was probably the culprit and the repairman didnt know to wait for 10 minutes after repluging in the stove to test the feature. Kitchenaid paid the entire repairman bill...my stove is working perfectly now. I can imagine that in the future that the repairmen will be informed off this 10 minute wait period, or that it will be written in the manuals...what a headache to resolve a simple issue but Im happy now with my stove and with Kitchenaid.

Less than a year later, the touchpad and left-side top-rack support had to be replaced (the touchpad was under warranty, but not the rack support or labor). Total charge: $193.78. Eight months later the top rack had come loose again. Total charge: $182.60. Just two months after that the machine sprung a bad leak -- the motor and pump assembly had to be replaced. Total bill: $399.00. Exactly one year later the top-rack roller needs replacing. The service technicians estimate: $275.00. In less than three years of ownership, our overall repair bill adds up to $1,050.38. Thats just $71.66 short of what we originally paid for the machine, installation and sales tax included! But we have decided not to make that final repair. This machine is clearly a losing proposition. Instead, well save our money toward buying a new machine of another brand.

I purchased a new stainless steel range and am happy with it overall. However, the knobs get too hot to touch when the oven is on at a standard temp. This in turn makes my over the range microwave door handle extremely hot also. Having contacted them, I was told since the range is working appropriately (hmm, how would they know; no one came to look at it) there is nothing they can do. I brought up the fact that that is a safety hazard IMHO. Since I have children and just touching the knobs makes me flinch my hand back. I was told, No, it isnt since the range is working appropriately. Hmm...

I am having the same exact issue with our KERS306BSS range. We purchased it in June 2013 and have had numerous service calls for the issue. KitchenAid keeps telling us we need to reset the main breaker and refusing to refund or replace our product. We are so fed up with every night not being able to cook dinner as its more frequently not working and now when we try to turn the oven on, Feature Not Available flashes across the control panel not allowing us to do anything.

On 12/28/10, I purchased a KitchenAid fridge, model kscs25fvms, for over $2000. One year later, it started making a loud mechanic noise. When I got home from work, it had stopped cooling. Time to buy ice coolers and ice. The repairman came out and stated that the compressor had failed. After numerous emails to KitchenAid, not one response. The bottom line is that they dont care about the customers. Its the mighty dollar they are after. Please, I beg of you, dont purchase any KitchenAid or Whirlpool products. They are defective. No quality product should fail after one year of service. Try a Japanese or German product. You should have better luck with them.

I bought this KitchenAid Refrigerator in February 2017 for almost 8000 dollars. I had my first problem in April. My food was freezing in my refrigerator. When the Technician came he said that the temperature board has a defect and needs to be changed. The same problem occurred in August and after having the Technician come to my house 6 times and changed couple things I called customer service to find a solution. They said that they will send another technician for a second opinion and that he needs to call their tech line and document the problem and they will replace my refrigerator after that. When the technician came and called and told them about the food in my freezer that is showing ice flakes because of the change of temperature they told him that this was normal and I need to vacuum my food and because the reading of the temperature was zero in the freezer and 37 in my fridge everything is running normal. When I called customer service again they said that they are not technicians. They need to send another one over and when I asked what is next step they said they cant give me an answer. The temperature change on its own. Sometimes it goes to -18 in my freezer sometimes to 32 in my fridge and sometimes 55 and for them everything is running normal. I cant put any food in my fridge and I am stuck with this defected fridge because they refuse to replace it even if it is a 6 months old one. Please let me know what kind of company is this and what kind of product are they selling. Does anybody know of any way I can get this refrigerator replaced?

KitchenAid KDTM404KPS Bought this dishwasher for new Kitchen Reno. Very disappointed with it so far. While it appears to clean well, it is very noisy on the wash cycle, definitely not the 44 db they claim. The grids on the racks are far apart and if smaller items are placed they can fall right through. No grips on the racks that would normally hold these items in place. My biggest disappointment is the third rack. I would have preferred a full cutlery rack. This one does really not hold too much cutlery or cooking utensils. Also plastic items on the racks are not kept secure and I think fly around during the wash. I now wash these smaller items by hand! Have been trying to contact someone at Kitchenaid through CHAT on their website, and after a few minutes, before any one responds to me, I am disconnected. Would like to ask Kitchenaid if they have any grips I can install in the dishwasher to secure smaller, lighter items. I hope they get to read this review. I would have bought a BOSCH instead, like the previous one I had. Just loved the third rack on it and with a higher db of 50, it was a lot more quieter. It too held a 16 place setting, and more as the area where the cutlery basket sits could hold large serving dishes. I bought my items in a rush during Covid-19, and was anxious to get out of the dealership as soon as possible.

Worst dishwasher ever! Never worked right from day one. Dishes from every load still had food spots in them. The top basket is flimsy and the rollers continually broke. The computer went bad after 3 years. Bought the rip off extended warranty that gave me more excuses than repairs but was sold as a complete coverage warranty. Called the company and they agreed to cover the parts but I had to pay for the repairs. They sent out Bragdon Appliance in Cedar Rapids, a slip shot company that never fixed it or delivered all the parts, but charged me anyway.I bought a Kitchen Aid because my mother had one for years. It was made in Amana, 20 miles from where I live. The Kitchen Aid reputation of quality no longer exists. I will never buy a Kitchen Aid again. I dont like filling landfills with their expensive junk. I am throwing it out after 3 1/2 years and it is still under full coverage warranty for another 1 1/2 years.

We bought this dishwasher a KitchenAid KDTM404ESSO s/n f52302835 last year July 2nd because of the reviews. It was a higher end dishwasher and had great write ups. The dishwasher leaves residue on everything. We called our sales company Home Appliance in Brunswick, Ohio and they told us it is probably clogged. I checked it, it was clear. Called back and they said you are using too much detergent. I asked for a contact number for a rep for KitchenAid and only got the factory phone number. In March or April the motor quit working. We called and they came out and confirmed it and ordered the motor for a warranty replacement. I told the service man about how it doesnt clean anything completely and he said you cant use Cascade. Cascade is what they recommend in the papers that come with the unit. He recommended some other brand which we bought and it still didnt clean the film off all the dishes. He came back out and explained that we were stacking the dishes in the dishwasher wrong and that the bottom rows had to be facing each other and took the top silverware tray out for us (you cant fit 12 dishes in with this in, the wash arms hit it). We did a load with him there and they came out cloudy. He said, Oh, you have to do sani rinse with your wash cause the new dishwashers dont use any water. I said, Thats great but then we would be up to almost two and a half hours to do a load. His reply was that is the way the new dishwashers are, meaning live with it. I would understand a lower end dishwasher doing all this stuff, but this was a $1200 plus installation dishwasher. We do not want this unit anymore at all. We made a mistake thinking it would be as good as our KitchenAid mixers and it isnt on the same planet.

KitchenAid Superba double oven dies every time we try to self-clean. I told my wife not to try it today. She did and it died after the cleaning cycle had been on for about an hour. Now we are looking forward to getting a Sears repairman out to our house, which is in the country, and will cost us at least a few hundred dollars, again. We are not really very happy with KitchenAid. We bought all KitchenAid when we built. What a mistake. I really thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I see on the internet that lots of folks have had self-cleaning shutdowns and KitchenAid will do nothing. Anyone have any ideas about what to do? Class action?

Poor reliability. Very disappointed based on initial reviews of how happy people were with model. I guess I like it too - when it is working. Who has the money or time for all these repairs? Purchased in September 2011 and the motor failed the first week. Best Buy swapped out dishwasher in October 2011. Had some intermittent issues when it would not turn on when we pushed the key pads. March 2013 - stopped working completely. The electrical panel on inside of door came loose. Was not an actual electrical problem so did not fall under warranty. I paid the $130 for a 15-minute service. September 2013. Dishwasher failed to complete rinse cycle and wont start again - just makes a louder than usual noise like it is trying to start. Just called for another repair.

Just had our 2 day old oven door shatter. We replaced a 1982 wall oven this week with a KitchenAid wall oven, model KOSE507ESS. It was installed yesterday. Tonight was the first time using the oven. I was preheating it to 400 degrees when I heard a loud pop and then glass was flying out of the bottom. The inside glass window shattered and glass is everywhere. I will be calling our appliance store first thing tomorrow morning. At the moment, no other damage has occurred to anything else other than the oven. I just want it fixed.

Installed 2003. There is something defective about this VERY expensive refrigerator. It builds up ice on the back refrigerator wall rendering 2 bins useless since it freezes the fresh food. If I turn down the freezer temperature down, ice cream turns to mush, so that is not an option. I have contacted KitchenAid over this situation years ago and all they do is send out a contracted appliance company to troubleshoot. You are responsible for paying for the troubleshoot and since I am not on warranty, I must pay for repairs. After the appliance company charges exorbitant fees, they say it is a bad baffle, and a new one is installed. I have done this 2x now, and the problem is still there. I am living with the ice build up as replacing these built ins costs almost $10,000. I wish I had paid more at the time for a Subzero. I had one for 20 years and NEVER a problem.

Ordered dishwasher (Model # KDFE304DWHO) 3-9-15, Lowes delivered & set up 3-25-15. Dishes not getting clean on any of the settings, scum accumulates behind the door on bottom, stainless steel inside stays wet & there is an odor. Repair man came 8-14-15, said I was using too much soap, told me to put soap in prewash cup only. Same day I called KitchenAid, Ester told me to put 1 dishwashing tablet in the main wash cup only, use a rinsing agent, run my dishwasher thru a clean cycle monthly (where is the clean cycle?) & do not prewash my dishes. Ester told me all about her mother owning the same dishwasher only a SS. I told Ester we have had dishwashers for many years & I have already tried all the troubleshooting that was required many times. I told her I wanted to exchange the dishwasher, this was not an option. She told me if I requested another service call, I would have to pay for it. I believe KitchenAid wants to stall you so your warranty will run out then say sorry.

We have had two kitchenaid ranges in the last two years. The first one burnt up twice on the self-clean cycle and was replaced by a range with a higher speed blower fan that is extremely loud and annoying. Kitchenaid replaced the fan twice and have come to a conclusion that this is normal. When I first contacted Kitchenaid, their comment was we have had no noisy fan complaints. Service techs they have replaced many. Kitchenaid have told us they no longer going to help us with the noisy fan as it is normal. We are now stuck with a $2200 range. We will never buy kitchenaid junk again.

I purchased a KitchenAid side by side with french doors and an in-door ice maker. It retailed for around $3,000 and is by far the worst appliance I have ever owned. Periodically it runs very noisily. If the refrigerator door is left open for more that a brief moment, the ice in the bin begins to melt and fuses together and must be dumped. I have replaced the ice maker four times in the six years I have owned this refrigerator. Ridiculous for any unit but especially one in this price bracket. I attempted to contact customer service to discuss the fourth replacement of the ice maker but simply received a form letter indicating that they have no obligation once the warranty runs out. With all the other manufacturers available, select from one of those!

I always wanted to own a KitchenAid appliances Because they’re supposed to be on a higher brand. We finally renovated my dream kitchen and I bought all KitchenAid appliances except for dishwasher which I got a Fisher & Paykel 2 drawer one. Anyway after 8 mos since I bought the Counter depth refrigerator KRFC704FSS It started having a problem with the ice maker. Called in for a service and said they will replace it and in a week the cooling system started to have problems. I called again for service and the guy said it’s a thermostat and they have to order the parts. I called customer service to follow up on the order and they said that it needs to be replaced because they been having problems with the cooling and that the model 704 Is being pulled out and being discontinued so I need to find another model. There’s so much inconvenience on this considering it’s a KitchenAid brand name. I was heartbroken because I really love the fridge and the platinum interiors and its counter depth feature.

We installed all KitchenAid appliances in our new house which we moved into on September 3, 2014. The microwave/convection appliance (model KBHS179BSS00) failed completely after three days. The store where we purchased it RELUCTANTLY replaced it. That unit worked only in microwave mode. In convection mode, it would not finish a cycle and had to be reset over and over to complete a cycle. KitchenAid replaced this one, but it froze up and could not be cleared to use it again. On December 22, they sent a third one and it also froze up. Today they replaced the entire keypad and electronic motherboard, but it would not work at all. They put the old part back and it is working right now, but they are going to order another new keyboard, etc. The vendor has washed his hands of the problem, so we are at the mercy of KitchenAid. They did tell us they would replace the entire unit again if the new part fails.

We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

We purchased a stainless freezer at the bottom model in January of 2013 from a local appliance store. Within a couple of months we had a freezer that stopped getting cold and lost all the food in it. A repairman came quickly and said it was working fine and it continued for a year. Then the freezer stopped working for a day, but came back on. In October of 2015 the freezer stopped completely. We have had a series of repairmen out and we still have no freezer. I have called KitchenAid and they said they would only fix and repair what is in the sealed unit, but that often the control panels fail and that they wont fix or replace the control panel. We paid top dollar for a fridge that lasted two years. There is no way I would ever buy a KitchenAid product again for any reason. This has been a nightmare. We were without a fridge during the hottest two months on record and now we are going into the holidays without a fridge/freezer. I would never recommend buying a KitchenAid appliance and would warn anyone to avoid this company.

I purchased a KitchenAid Model KUDS301XBLO from Best Buy 2 years ago this month. The first week I had to call KitchenAid concerning the fact that the dishwasher did not get my dishes clean. Stuck on food on dishes and silverware and cloudy glassware. They sent a repairman out and he said there was nothing wrong, it must be my water or the temperature setting on the hot water heater. He checked and said the temp was correct and he couldnt find anything wrong. The next week I called KitchenAid again and reported the same problem. Another repair service was sent and he could not find anything wrong either (other than the dishes were dirty). They both suggested a multitude of things to try, i.e.,Use of different product (used Cascade), adding Lemi Shine, make sure to use Jet-dry, etc, etc, all of which I was using anyway. The first guy said pre-wash the dishes before placing them in dishwasher. The 2nd guy said never pre-wash the dishes, always leave food on them because with the new machines this acted as a washing agent to get the dishes clean... Lordy, that blew my mind. I tried that and had to take all the dishes out of the dishwasher when it was complete and wash them by hand. The 2nd guy also informed me I should have never gotten rid of my 20-year-old GE, that it was a superior product (it worked fine, just was very noisy). I emailed a complaint to KitchenAid and several weeks after the complaint I had a call while I was not at home, from some lady who left a message. I tried to call her back and got her voicemail and left a message for her to return the call. Never heard from her. The 2nd repairman gave me a bill for services and I refused to pay it, so thats when I emailed the company. As far as I am concerned, I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

I build new houses and new high end rentals. We have in the past used KitchenAid Refrigerators and dishwashers and stoves. I have 20 year old KitchenAid appliance in my own house. I purchased a new refrigerator 2 years ago for a new house I was building. It lasted less than 5 months before total failure. KitchenAid eventually replaced it after I spent 8 hours on the phone. This week a 15 month old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. The failure rate for Bosch appliances is about 1/2 the failure rate for KitchenAid. Customer Service for the new KitchenAid sucks at best. KitchenAid is now owned by Whirlpool and cannot care less about the old customers. If you want reliability and customer service buy Bosch or Miele. If KitchenAid cannot warranty their product for both part and labor for 2 years do not buy KitchenAid. The old KitchenAid company and its products and customer service is gone.
