The worse dishwasher ever. We bought the top of the line. So far, we have had the control panel replaced 4 times. Its going to be out of warranty in January 2020 and I wont have it repaired after that. Looking for a new dishwasher.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020
The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system. We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. Their products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.

You would think that you spend more money on a trusted brand that it would last for more than 5 years. Its only been used a couple times per week for my wife and me. Called three repair service companies who all told me that the issue is most likely a faulty circuit board which cost about half the price of a complete new dishwasher. Please be assured that I will never buy another appliance from KitchenAid in my lifetime. Hopefully my experience proves beneficial to you!

KitchenAid range was purchased then failed 13 months later. Appliance was fixed under extended warranty that I purchased. Now 14 months after being fixed, range has failed again with same issue. Research showed that this same issue has happened to multiple people with same results. Whirlpool/KitchenAid is in denial stating no recall, no service issues.

Do not buy KitchenAID refrigerator KFIV29 model. My refrigerator stopped working in less than 2 years. I had an extended warranty and they basically kept on sending a service contractor to address the issue who kept on finding new issues as to why my refrigerator was not working. KitchenAid refused to take any responsibility in regards to the quality of the product or the extended warranty that they sold to me in the first place, and refused to help solve the problem. The extended warranty company refused to stop the payment to the contractor until they had a confirmation from me that the refrigerator was actually working and six weeks in I still do not have a refrigerator.

Everytime you use the self-cleaning cycle in the Kitchenaid oven, it blows a fuse in the middle of the cycle and shuts down. The door locks, digital panel shuts down, and oven is inoperable. This has happened twice now and apparently from reading the internet blogs, it is a very common problem. And costs $150+ to have the fuse replaced, therefore costing the consumer $150+ to self-clean your oven! Ridiculous.

I purchase a KitchenAid refrigerator (20.0 cu ft counter-depth) from Sears 12/20/14 ($1979.99). I purchased a 5-year warranty package from KitchenAid too. Six months later I found a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor coming from the freezer compartment. I called KitchenAid and when the woman asked me what was going on in the freezer (I told her frost was forming in the ice compartment); she told me that it was warranted under the first year and gave me a number of a company (Calif. Appliance Tech) to call. They came out on July 8, 2015 and told me the problem was the gasket on the left side hadnt been properly sealed and was letting air in. They left and a few days later someone from CAT called to tell me the part was ordered and it should arrive in 6 weeks. It never arrived. When I spoke to John on 9/18, he insinuated that I can still use the freezer which is not so. He told the part (freezer) has to be manufactured and I have to be patient as there is a long back order! In the meantime, CAT closed the case and it had to be re-opened when I called back on October 16th.What does this say about the crappy product? The freezer is completely frozen shut so I cannot open the door and have to make numerous trips to the market as I cant use the freezer. I went back to Sears in Santa Monica and told their customers in the appliance area not to purchase any product with KitchenAid in the name. I was very vocal to the shoppers about the horrible experience with them (Whirlpool owns them). I then spoke to John at Sears who took me to their computer and looked up the part KitchenAid told me had to be manufactured and the part is readily available.I am so angry with KitchenAid. They are liars! John at Sears told me the part with gasket could be purchased thru them but it will terminate my warranty and would cost me up to $1,000 to replace. I paid an additional $266 for the 5-year warranty. I am ready to throw in the bucket, call Goodwill to haul it away and purchase a product that doesnt have KitchenAid or Whirlpool in its name. John told me that had I purchased the Sears warranty this wouldnt have happened. How can KitchenAid get away with not providing the warranty they tell us we have? My last call was to Josh on 10/16/15 and was again told the part would arrive in 6-8 weeks.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator in July last year. Less than two months ago, the refrigerating compartment did not work properly. Reno Appliance changed to a new refrigerator. However, the same problem occurred in the new refrigerator before a year, and it has not been fixed until two months after reporting the problem. Kitchen Aid is the worst brand.

KBFS22EWMS4 bought this refrig in late 2012. All seemed fine till 5/2014. Water started leaking from the freezer door. Water had been leaking into the bottom of the freezer and eventually started spilling out on the floor when the defrost cycle ran. I called a tech and he took apart the freezer, cleared the defrost drain, unfroze it and all seemed fine. 1 year 4 months later the same thing again.I called the same tech and when he got here, he pulled out the refrig and took off the bottom back panel and then removed the little rubber drain plug/funnel. He said this was the problem and now he just removed them when he sees this issue. Hes seen this before. It was very sticky (he said) because of the heat. The rubber funnel is about an inch long and about 1/2 inch wide. It has a slit in the bottom of it for the water to pass through. Not a hole, a slit! No wonder the thing leaked, it would get so easily gunked up and with the rubber being so sticky Im sure the slit would stick together and probably make it much easier to freeze. Id call this an engineering issue.Who in their right mind would use a pliable rubber funnel with a small slit in the bottom, it defies logic. There probably should have been no funnel to begin with or at least a hard plastic one with a hole big enough to drain without getting gunked up. Well see if this fix takes. If not, Im buying another (non-Kitchenaid) refrig. Im not putting $100+ each year on the same fridge for something that should have been designed properly.

KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer, Model: KFFS20EYWH00 - Purchased in 2012, this model has double doors and a freezer drawer below. The gaskets on the doors include, at the lower inside edge, a flange. I dont know its purpose. In this instance, the flange on the right-hand door became torn simply from opening and closing the doors. We contacted a repair person, who collected the $95 price and ordered from KitchenAid a new gasket, but KitchenAid no longer offers it in white (like the original) so we had to accept grey. When it arrived he came to install it. It was about 1/4 inch too short in the length. We thought it was his error. We researched and found the gasket online, but also talked to a KitchenAid rep who agreed wed found the right one, so we ordered it. It came; it was exactly like the one ordered by the repairman- just a little too short. We returned it, with a letter (one copy sent with the return, the other mailed directly). We have heard NOTHING from KitchenAid. Its strange and frustrating that they arent making a replacement gasket in white, but a lot stranger and more frustrating that they offer a so-called replacement that isnt the right size.

Countless hours wasted on the phone and waiting for repairmen. Only offered a 40% discount on a new one but had to pay in full in advance. Replacement arrived damaged after 4 weeks. No refund possible. Still waiting four weeks later and after 6 months still don’t have an operable refrigerator.

The last 2 times, it shattered. This time, it just cracked. Kitchen Aid took responsibility for the defect the last 2 time but refuse to pay from the replacement this time, even though this issue has been ongoing since I purchased the unit. I am extremely disappointed that I have a 5 year old oven where the self clean doesnt work because every time the glass breaks.

I bought my KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM354DSS5 from Best Buy on December 10th 2017. I noticed my dishes werent coming out clean and went on a trip to NY. When I got back my floor was covered in water. I called the repair center at Best Buy and they told me the warranty expired on the 10th of December 2018. What the heck - 9 days later and you cant cover it. They sent me to a call center and the lady sold me service plan for $286.00. I called the service provider and they told me I cant use it for 60 days and that they wont cover the repair since it happened prior. Do not buy KitchenAid which is Whirlpool in disguise. I spent over a $1000.00 for a dishwasher that didnt hold up for a year. It is the pump. A very costly repair.

Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

We purchased the top of the line in the KitchenAid dishwasher - KUDS301VBL3
We purchased the top of the line in the KitchenAid dishwasher - KUDS301VBL3. This was the second KitchenAid dishwasher that I had owned. The first one I purchased was a workhorse. No problems, just got old and wasnt worth fixing. So I updated my kitchen and bought the new top of the line model. I am now waiting for a repairman to show up to fix the door that keeps breaking. This is the second time. There is something in the door that keeps slipping off and causes the door to slam down hard when it opened. I have a 16-month-old granddaughter who could easily pull on the door and suffer an injury if this door fell on her. I have called KitchenAid and left messages and so far have not been contacted by anyone. I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had hit such a low standard. This is the second time that this door thing has happened, so there must be a problem and KitchenAid needs to take responsibility and fix it before they have a lawsuit on their hands where a child has gotten hurt by this door malfunction. I am going to complain to all the consumer and product safety organizations that I can find on the internet.

In September of 2016 we purchased a very expensive KitchenAid fridge, almost $3,000. It was supposed to be the top of the line. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, because as I write this I am waiting for the repairman to come out for the FOURTH time. This will be the third time that ice has built up along the inside of the back wall, and to fix it requires the unit to be shut off, drawers and shelves removed, and the ice to melt away so he can open up the back and do his thing. The ice build up impacts the fan, creating a loud noise, and inhibits the ability of the unit to make ice. The other service call was for a malfunctioning deli tray control. Prior to this unit, for 14 years I had a Bosch unit in my other home which worked flawlessly. I would never buy another KitchenAid fridge again.

I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased about two and a half years ago. The model is KUDS301XSS1 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. One and a half years into its use, it had a repair for $215 for a $30 fuse. The rest was labor because nothing on the dish washer would operate. The compartments that hold the knives, forks and spoons in place are held up on the sides of the utensil tray by bread twiggies to keep them from constantly falling into the respective sections. If anyone is experiencing this problem, the twiggies have been working now for over a year. The bottom panel which is plastic is held to the metal frame with cheap plastic that breaks. It is now held on by, you guessed it, another bread twiggie. Last week, the roller on the upper rack broke off of the cheap plastic spindle that holds it to more plastic parts on the rack. Now it is engineered by an ingenious screw washer fed by a strong plastic tie through a small washer fed through the opening of the roller and twisted onto the plastic frame on the upper rack. This works as long as one doesnt force the rack open. One should note that the end stops on the rack are made up of more cheap plastic parts that are quite fragile and will probably break in time. The dishwasher does clean dishes and is silent, but the cheapness of all these parts leaves me with one opinion - KitchenAid and Whirlpool do not care about making a good appliance. The KitchenAid was a replacement for two previous Whirlpools that gave decent service. I sold appliances in the past and know that KitchenAid made by Hobart was quite a top of the line dishwasher. My advice now - not worth the purchase price, not worth buying so let buyer beware. Because of this atrocious record, the rest of the new appliances in our kitchen went to Frigidaire. I have read many other complaints from others on the internet about this fuse that keeps going out. My repairman left the instructions for replacement so I can do it myself.

I never had a dirty dish come out of it; provided you used the jet dry. No matter what I threw at it, they came out clean and spotless. The controls were on the top edge of the door so hidden during use and programmed before closing the door. The dishwasher ran whisper quiet and had multiple cleaning cycles; including pot scrubber. It should also be noted that the heater in this unit heats everything to the point of sterilization. You can actually smell the clean when the dishes come out. This dishwasher had the adjustable top rack so cleaning large items in the bottom was very easing. It also had extra large capacity so it took a lot of dishes to fill it. Stainless steel, and hidden controls were very nice. The large, rounded, stainless door handle was the only protrusion from under the counter so it blended well into the cabinetry. Kitchenaid 24-inch Stainless Steel with Proscrub. It came with the standard warranty and I paid to extend it an additional 2 years. It also came with a nicely written owners manual which was clear and concise on the operations.

Had dishwasher KUDS30IXSS a little over a year and two small plastic parts on the upper glider both broke after just moderate use. Outside of warranty by a few months and Whirlpool (Kitchenaid) sent their own repairman who said the two parts were $48. Took 10 minutes to replace them and then charged $130 for labor and an additional $85 for the service call. I have never, ever had a service where they charge labor and service charge. Its one or the other (Also, $130 for 10 minutes of labor?). Complained and repairman said its company policy and should take it up with Whirlpool which we are. INCREDIBLY BAD PRODUCT. The good: the format of a small micro/convection oven over a large regular/convection oven works nicely for me as I can cook almost everything in the small oven and don’t have to waste energy on large oven except special occasion cooking. That said, the electronics went out twice in first couple of years, had to be completely replaced. Now I’m never sure if oven will work on any given day.NEXT: the first time I tried to use the clean program, about a half hour in, I heard a very loud crash and rushed in to kitchen to find glass all over. The whole glass door exploded all over. I eventually got it replaced but now am afraid to use it again. The bell which signals “done” and the timer itself long since stopped working and the turntable doesn’t turn. Today I found the glass top part of the turntable in pieces large and small. I’ve no idea what caused this. I’m worried that a replacement brand will not fit into the custom built in space I will have when I try to dump this headache. P.S. Read my review of KA dishwasher and immersion blender, neither of which are favorable. I have learned my lesson about this brand.

As I write this, my oven is being repaired for the fourth time, for the same problem. Since it is out of warranty, I will be paying for this. When you try to self-clean, it goes for an hour or two, then stops, giving an error code because the plastic, yes plastic, around the latch has melted, and the oven thinks the door is open. The repairman this time told me to never again try to self clean the oven. It will just keep happening! This oven is about 6 years old, but this has been happening since it was just over a year old. Also, even when it did clean in the beginning, the glass door does not actually get clean, particularly the space left between the two panes of glass, again yes, a space left open. I would suggest the designer of this oven be punished by having to use it. Clearly these should have been recalled or replaced by KitchenAid, as they are aware of the problem. But no such luck, at least not that I am aware of.

I purchased a suite of Kitchen Aid products in July 2011 from Art Handlers Appliance Center. Refrigerator, dishwasher, gas convection oven and range and microwave. They were installed in my new home. To date, the handle on my microwave didnt just come off, the plastic broke. It just doesnt heat food quickly and is the noisiest microwave ever. The range has knobs on the front and the writing on all the knobs came off within one month. Im currently on my third set of knobs and they now have no writing on them at all. Therefore if anyone else uses the range they have no idea what they are doing. Also, unless you lock the unit, if you lean over it to get something out of a cabinet, you can easily turn it on with your body without knowing it. Overall, this is a dangerous unit to own.

I purchased KSSO42QTX refrigerator in December of 2011. It cost over $5,000.00. Within 3 months, the unit had frost and ice accumulating in the freezer and poor cooling (high temperature) in refrigerator leading to spoiled, wasted food and on several occasions, illness due to spoilage. I contacted KitchenAid on several occasions over a two-month period and was directed to defrost unit and start over. When the problem persisted, they finally agreed to send a technician. The independently contracted technician found defective fans, motors and gaskets. I requested that the unit be replaced being that it was a lemon, having proven defective after only 3 months of usage. The technician and KitchenAid customer service said they will repair, but not replace the refrigerator. I was told to defrost and shut off the refrigerator. I waited for approximately two weeks for the independent repair company to receive the new parts and make a return appointment. When they arrived, they realized that they had been sent the correct fan parts, but not the correct gaskets. The technician refused to repair the fan as he only gets paid at the completion of the job and refused to repair the fan, which would have created an appropriate cooling environment for food storage. We are currently waiting, again, for over 1 week for the new part to be delivered. I have now been without the use of a refrigerator for approximately 3 weeks in sweltering summer heat. My wife has had to take 2 days off from work to accommodate the technicians schedule and will be required to take another day leave from work to accommodate for another appointment.Throughout this process, KitchenAid customer service has been terrible. They were unconcerned that our refrigerator has been spoiling food. They were unconcerned that the unit proved to be defective after 3 months of usage. They were unconcerned that we have no refrigerator in the middle of a summer with temperatures hovering around 100 degrees. They were unconcerned that we had several instances of illness due to spoiled food. They have been unwilling to replace the lemon refrigerator, which broke within 3 months of purchase. They have been unwilling to expedite any service or delivery of parts in order to alleviate this egregious situation. They refused to use expedited mail service. They refused to appoint another independent technician when the one originally assigned refused to provide timely service. We are still waiting for the repair to be completed. I have been offered no compensation for the trouble that I have had due to the lemon refrigerator.

Purchased KitchenAid Architect Series II, 5 burner gas freestanding stove with double ovens. Within 5 weeks, the paint started bubbling, cracking and flakes were falling off, this was on the panel where the burner knobs are located. Called and repairman came out and looked at it and called in for instructions on what to do. We were told by him, numerous phone calls to kitchen aide and supervisor, Sorry, the stove is only covered for 30 days for cosmetic problems. Ok, I say, your paint is defective or application was not right. I cannot believe you would not fix this problem, when it is obviously defective. I have had appliances for many, many years and never had paint bubble and come off as this has, especially a brand new appliance. The stove looks horrible, the whole control panel is now gray steel and your company will not fix an obvious problem with your product. I will never and tell others not to buy KitchenAid because you do not stand behind your products that obviously has a problem. I can buy a new control panel for $100 and replace it, but after spending the amount of money that I did for your product, that is another slap in the face.

Not cleaning dishes in 2017 - serviced and cleaned spinners not fixed. Had to rinse/clean dishes before running because they were always still dirty if we didnt from 2017 until now. Leaking on floor from broken sensor seal now in 2020. Was told by repairman that the pump doesnt turn the spinner cleaners because the pump is weak and has no pressure. So 700$ to fix the dishwasher and no guarantee that it will work any better with same crappy pump.

In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

Bought the Kitchen Aid French Door Counter Depth (Model KBFS20EVMS9) from Lowes in Feb. 2012, and the 4 year extended warranty. It just started leaking on the floor, had the drain tube replaced. Leaking stopped but freezer is STILL forming ice inside. And I have no water feature or ice cube maker so I dont understand what the deal is. Maybe just a shoddy product? Another service call is scheduled. I get a feeling this isnt the last of it. I may end up hiring two strong guys to haul it down to Benton Harbor Michigan and dump on their front doorstep.

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

My parents purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRFF507ESS01 six months ago. In that time the ice maker has never worked correctly and it has been broken twice, causing them to throw all their food away. The first repair took 10 days. They are now waiting on the second repair and it has been 8 days and they cannot get anyone out here for another 9 days. They purchased a top of the line stove, microwave, and mixer at the same time. They spent a lot of money and the customer service is terrible. They have had to buy coolers and countless bags of ice to keep food in the house. I asked the customer service rep what they needed to do to have a new unit sent out. I was told, Nothing, your parents signed the extended warranty which states repair, it doesnt say replacement. Im sorry, but where on that warranty did it say that you were selling them a piece of crap? Very disappointed.

From the very start it only cleans the dishes if you put them in clean. Salesmen said I could put dirty dishes in. Not unless you want them coming out dirty. Everything has to be thoroughly rinsed before they go in, the regular cycles takes hours to run. So disappointed. I had my first KitchenAid for 15 years and it was quick and cleaned like it should. Repair man said everyone is complaining about the same thing. He had to fix the runners on the upper shelf because they were plastic and cracked. I would replace this in a second if I could afford to throw out the expensive piece of trash that it is. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher based on ratings. Wrong move. From day one, I should have returned it. Before installing it, the control panel had to be replaced. The print on the panel came off when the protective tape was removed. The tech service man came and replaced the complete panel. After about a week, there was a leak coming down the front of the door [stainless steel]. Repair man came again claiming it was due to steam from drying cycle. Took it apart now. Its okay. We have been complaining about dishes coming out dirty each time and have gotten different answers. Called a third time tech. Checked machine codes, claiming all was okay. But the hot water was not hot enough [120 degrees] at burner. Claims 87 degrees. We have never had a problem with past three machines, last one being a Maytag which was spotless but was not stainless steel and we were matching the new appliances. Another wrong move. Should have kept it. The last tech said he was sorry he had to tell me there was nothing he could do. However, if the tech would read the manual, it states that in the hi-temp cycle, the machine heats the water to up to 150 degrees. Maybe he could find another reason for dirty dishes. I am now going to Lowes to see if they can be of any help. This machine is a lemon. Also, dont lean over the counter top. The panel is so touchy that it will turn the machine on or off. The only pro is the machine is very very quiet . Maybe that is why the dishes are not cleaned, its not doing anything.

Since we bought this stove in June 2014 should be a warranty on this type of thing happening? We always use only mild dish soap and a soft cloth to clean it. Sent an email to http://www.whirlpoolappliances.ca twice, second time included photos was told both times, that they recommend calling into their Customer Service Department at 1-800-807-6777 to have this issue resolved. I purchased a full set of Kitchenaid appliances 2 years ago. My purchase included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave. Close to $10,000 worth of appliances. My experience with the refrigerator and Kitchenaids support had been a nightmare. (For clarification, Im middle aged, this is the 5th home I have owned and remodeled in my lifetime, and I consider myself reasonably intelligent with reasonable expectations.) I have had issues with the refrigerator within the first month of installation. - The water dispenser was and is incredibly loud. You can hear it on the other side of house. The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done - The ice maker would randomly defrost and leak all over the floor: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done. If the left door was left slightly ajar, the alarm would not go off: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was the design, and that one particular door is impacted and there was nothing wrong with the unit. - The lights on the inside of the unit would randomly not work, but then work 1 hour to 2 days later: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a head-scratcher, But because it was functioning when he looked at it, nothing to be done.I decided to purchase an extended warranty because I was already nervous about the longevity of the unit. During that extended warranty time, the previously mentioned items continued. Three weeks after the warranty expired, the unit basically died. It would randomly defrost the entire freezer and only come back on by flipping the breaker several times. The interior lights would not work about 30% of the time and the water dispenser would randomly stop working. When the freezer would start to thaw, so would the ice in the icemaker... and leak all over the floor. I had a different repair person come out. I was not going to have the same useless waste of time company come out if it was going to be out of my pocket. They replaced the entire motor. It worked for two days, and started the process again. They then replaced one of the primary computer boards. $1100 later, it worked for 3 weeks and then started thawing, defrosting, lights off, etc again. The thing is either possessed or a total lemon.

Im a commercial dishwasher repairman. My 10-month old dishwasher failed, dead, no lights, nothing. I checked the power and performed troubleshooting steps, determined the problem was a bad control board. I called the folks who sold it to me. They did not have a control board in stock. I asked that they bring a board with them so they could fix it with one visit. They said no, they could not be sure the board was the problem. I was going to have to wait 5 days (including Saturday & Sunday) for them to show up between 1 and 4, and then have to go through another wait until they were able to get the part. I am not very fond of washing dishes by hand, so I called around and found a parts place that could have the part by the next day (Saturday). The part came in and I installed the part, which fixed the problem. I called the dealer and canceled the service call and asked if it was possible to get any credit on the part. They said no, but I could call KitchenAid. I called KitchenAid this morning. No luck, it did not matter that Id saved them two service calls. It did not matter that I had taken the risk for the cost of the part if my diagnosis had been incorrect (with electronic parts, once the box is open, you own it). After speaking with Shari and David (a supervisor), KitchenAids policy is inflexible. If a customer touches it, they dont warranty it. In addition, they refused to send someone out to inspect my work or to confirm the board was bad. Im very disappointed! Heck, if they had offered to split the cost of the part or even to give me credit towards my next KitchenAid Appliance, Id have been thrilled. Instead, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

Awful customer service. Scheduled a replacement this week but failed to keep appointment. Got a few hours notice. Theyre giving me another new one. Have told them this is the last one. Our KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS40FVSS (purchased in April 2011) stopped working (no water was being sprayed). We called County TV and Appliance (where we bought it) in Stamford, CT to get the name of an authorized service company. We were initially given Mr. Appliance in Connecticut at (203)-966-8151. They did not bother to call back until we made a third attempt. By the time they finally returned our call, we had made an appointment with J.B. Service located in Trumball, CT. They were supposed to arrive on Monday, Nov 19th between 9-12. They did not show up nor did they bother to call to say they would be unable to make the appointment. We rescheduled the repair work for today (Tuesday, Nov 20th) from 2-4 pm. The service technician arrived at around 3 pm but left not fixing the dishwasher saying that the shaft in the motor that grinds the food is broken and had to be replaced at a cost of around $400. The parts have to be ordered and it will take about three days to arrive. This is great. Thanksgiving is in two days and I have a house full of people arriving! What really bothers me is the diagnosis. The motor that grinds the food is bad. The ironic part is that I am one of those people who washes all the food off of my dishes before I put the dishes in the dishwasher. I really use my dishwasher for sanitation purposes only. So how can a motor that is not used for that purpose suddenly go bad? Furthermore, we had to pay $127.62 for the service call despite the fact that the company did not have the parts available. The technician then told us that only a portion of the service call invoice would be applied to the repair. I find it hard to believe that KitchenAid service can be so poor and that the motor can go bad in such a short time when it is not used for the purpose of grinding food!

We purchased our KitchenAid about 8 months ago after owning our Sears side by side for over 20 years. Immediately upon starting the ice maker we noticed that when the ice bin got full, it would not stop trying to fill the cube maker...because it was leaking into the fridge on the left side of the refrigerator. This model is the French Door on bottom, ice, water and measured fill on door. The repairman came and said I needed a gasket which he glued on to the door around the ice bin. This was in the winter and I really did not need the ice maker on so I shut it off. Here it is summer and I have turned it back on.....and it is leaking. I once again have to empty the ice bin twice a day so that it will not leak. PC Richard will continue to repair as long as my warranty is in effect.. What concerns me is that theyre putting band aids on faulty design and I have a problem with that. Anyone out there have any ideas??????? ?

In 2013 I purchased a KitchenAid package of appliances for my house. Since last year I have had the repair people out on 5 different occasions and I am still having issues. The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

All 4 of my KitchenAid appliances (Superba dishwasher, range, slide-out hood, and fridge) are not working properly or not working, period. Its going to cost me over $1000 to fix them. I called customer service, spoke to the supervisor, but was told theres no extended warranty. So, I am solely responsible for the repairs. Its no surprise. Had I had problems with one appliance, Id probably be ok. But all 4? We thought we were purchasing quality appliances that would be dependable and lasting! All 4 are 11 years old, and in year 5, we had our first problem. Now, theyre all worthless! If the control panel for 3 of them is bad, that has to be inferior design. I will not purchase another KitchenAid appliance, and I will discourage others from doing the same.

Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees
Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees whenever the temperature is adjusted or if the door is opened momentarily. Then its necessary to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to rise and for the timing to begin or resume. Weve used other brand ovens and this has never happened with them. The KitchenAid Chat respondent says it was designed this way. Hard to believe, since they must have had numerous complaints about this problem. These days, with all the enthusiasm about home cooking, such a design problem is a very bad one, and very unacceptable for anyone interested in cooking at home. We certainly advise against buying any KitchenAid product if this indicates the quality of their designs and response to problems.

The knobs on this range are made plastic on metal posts. The first knob wore and broke within the first year of using the range. The ceramic top range is slow to heat and then superheats once cooking begins. The oven temps are way variable and cooking times are way off from recipes. I have ordered two new knobs at the cost of almost $40 and I know that the other two should be replaced as they will break any day. I use my range nearly every day and thought that KitchenAid was a good brand when I bought it. I am sorry to say that I do not recommend that anyone buy this brand right now. Maybe they will improve but I think that they are making their money on replacement parts.

My experience with the KitchenAid Company was awful. I purchased a high end refrigerator with a 5 year warranty. The icemaker and freezer at the bottom broken. No ice is producing and the freezer is not keeping food frozen The repairmen came in three times to fix this problem. Three different times, not fixable. They actually said this refrigerator cannot be repaired. Called Kitchenaid and they advised me that they will give me 10 or 15% off of a new refrigerator. Then I spoke to another supervisor and he said the best he can do is give me 35% off of a new refrigerator. So what they are telling me is that I can spend another $4500.00 on a new refrigerator because that is what it would cost me with the discount, so they can do this to me again when the second one breaks.I told them that they are not standing behind their product and they indicated to me that is the best they can do. What the heck does that mean. The best they can do. Why would I purchase another Kitchenaid product when they cannot stand behind their product. If they dont do something about this issue, I will never buy another kitchenaid product and either will anyone else because I am the news media. I know how to get around this whole community. I am so angry. I have a warranty and my refrigerator is broken and no one is doing anything about this issue. Kitchenaid has to do the right thing.

I wrote a letter to the Jeffrey Fettig, Chairman and Chief Executive Office
I wrote a letter to the Jeffrey Fettig, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Whirlpool and Marc Bitzer, President of Whirlpool North America regarding a part they no longer made for my 5 yr. old KitchenAid refrigerator. Because of problems I was having with the refrigerator lights and the ice maker not working a repairman told me I needed to replace the electronic control board but that KitchenAid no longer made the part. I called KitchenAid customer service and was told I had to send the control board to Illinois for repair which meant my refrigerator would not be operating for a week or more. After spending hours online I found that Sears Parts Direct had a replacement control Board for my KitchenAid model which I ordered. By some miracle I was able to get the lights working by making an adjustment on the door hinges and the ice maker suddenly started to work. I returned the control board I received from Sears. What is interesting to me is the fact that I never received any response to my letter to Whirlpool senior management. In the letter I asked them 3 questions:When and why did they make the decision to stop producing an integral component for a KitchenAid product causing major inconvenience and problems for consumers? Why does KitchenAid Parts online show this component as available when it is no longer made? Why would a Whirlpool control board be defective in a 5 year old product? (As stated above my control board was not the problem after all.) I also told them I had noted the number of KitchenAid product complaints on Consumeraffairs.com. The fact that I never received any kind of follow up shows Whirlpools total lack of integrity and concern for their customers. The JOKE is Whirlpools Vision and Mission statements..... Pride, passion and performance.... Creating Loyal Customers for Life. We are a company of people captivated with creating loyal customers. Unfortunately the joke is on their customers.

We wanted top of the line appliances to last through our retirement in our new home. We purchased KitchenAid. Our freezer stopped freezing and when we called for repair they said that even though a ten year warranty existed for major parts, it could not be repaired. We are disappointed at the results that we have received from KitchenAid for they wanted to send yet one more repairman, who would charge us an unreasonable amount and we would need to pay for repairs if they could be made. I have a french door refrigerator (Model KBFS22ECMS00 purchase date 1/27/15) and gas range (Model KGRS202BSS-1 purchase date 1/19/15) that have issues. I called 2 weeks before Thanksgiving about the freezer not maintaining temperature (set at -6 degrees, maintaining 6-15 degrees) at time of call. Several days BEFORE Thanksgiving, the refrigerator started doing the same thing (set as low as possible, maintaining 45+ degrees). On the day of Thanksgiving, my oven refused to maintain set temperature. It would get to temperature then the igniter failed to ignite the gas and maintain the set temperature. No smell of gas in the house.November 30 when service techs arrived, it was discovered my condenser leaked all the oil out and the compressor had locked up. They had to order parts. Had a service date of 12/16 to repair the refrigerator and troubleshoot the issue with the oven. Was called the day before by Video Tech Services (the servicing company) to cancel my service appointment because one of the refrigerator parts was on backorder. Called KitchenAid/Whirlpool early last week and lo and behold, THEY had the part that was on backorder so I have no idea where the service company is getting their parts from. Parts were sent to the service company 2 day shipping so they SHOULD have received it last Friday (12/18)... At the latest.I called KitchenAid/Whirlpool again on the Tuesday (12/22) since I had not received a scheduling call from the service company. Interestingly enough, the servicing company received the backordered part on SATURDAY (12/19) but had since FAILED to call for a service appointment. Now mind you, this is going into a SECOND MAJOR HOLIDAY without appliances. The service company finally called 30-45 minutes AFTER my call to the manufacturer. I am now scheduled for a repair on January 15 because I refused to take another day off from work (11/30) to accommodate them. I had taken the day off on 12/16 as well. Both appliances 10 months old (actually the refrigerator was 9 months old (delivery date of 2/22)) before failing and 60+ days before repair? Through two MAJOR holidays???

While wiping out the interior of the upper oven to my KitchenAid Electric Double Oven Range, after completing a 2.5 hour self-cleaning process and the cool down period, I noticed an area of the blue interior coating (enamel?) began chipping away. The oven is less than one year old and under warranty. A service person inspected the oven, stated this part is not removable for replacement or repair. The service person telephoned in the concern and was informed of a patch/repair paint kit and said it will be shipped to me. However, it was suggested I contact KitchenAid directly if I found this solution to be unsatisfactory. After the departure of the service person, I inspected the chipped area further. Cracking was noticed on both sides of the chipped area that extends out an inch to an inch and a half on each side causing concern that the issue will continue.KitchenAid customer service was contacted and this manufacturing defect was reported. The KitchenAid customer service representative stated that KitchenAid is not able to provide any help or assistance with this issue since these material and workmanship defects are excluded from warranty coverage after 30 days from the date of purchase.

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. I would definitely advise NOT purchasing KitchenAid.Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. Upper rack was over designed with too many moving features causing inherent weaknesses in plastic components. One year after use started the first plastic tabs started breaking. Without buying a whole new rack there was only one option. Had to figure out stainless steel bolts and nuts to replace broken tabs. Tedious but do-able. I believe most people (probably 95%) do not adjust the racks anyway because they are complicated to adjust. Why build things that break? Just keep it simple! Otherwise this dishwasher works great. It is very quiet and washes well. Clean look. If they would make the upper rack as simple as the bottom rack it would be bullet proof. But no, the Kitchenaid engineers and marketing people had to complicate it by putting in breakable features most people do not use. Thanks for messing up an otherwise great product. Now figuring out my fourth set of bolts to keep the upper rack in place and gliding like it should.

KitchenAid outsources all of their repairs to Whirlpool who has DESTROYED my $1500 stove in order to fix the fan. They have forced me to stay home from work for over 2 weeks worth of time due to repairs caused by the previous repair damage that theyve caused. Every time they leave I find another rookie mistake that has caused additional damage. I am FED up with this company and will never buy from them again. We had this oven range delivered in early December 2019. By Dec 26, the inside top oven enamel had shattered. In 2007, I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from Pacific Sales. The refrigerator made funny noises when it ran but I put a piece of tile on the interior metalwork and the noise went away. Seven years later in 2014, an alarm went off inside the control board indicating a problem with the evaporator cooler. As it turns out, KitchenAid or Whirlpool used substandard capacitors in their control boards leading to premature failure. Mind you, this is a $6,000 refrigerator. When I contacted KitchenAid, they informed me that the part was no longer available due to a tsunami in Japan. KitchenAid referred me to an aftermarket control board manufacturer that wanted $800 for the part. They said that they used to have the boards repaired but that was no longer an option. After following the instructions on Steve Jenkins blog, I was able to have the board repaired at Rockstar Computers in Upland, California. Total cost of the repair was $55.

Having purchased an entire kitchen of KitchenAid products, almost every one has broken - more than once. While the company repaired the dishwasher handle the first time it broke, they refused to fix the dishwasher door, which flops open dangerously. I paid over $100 to have it fixed. Now that the microwave, which comes on spontaneously, must be fixed, theyve agreed to that, but not the handle that broke off or the faux-stainlesss/plastic vent cover that ironically fell on the floor days after the call. Turns out they now admit that the dishwasher door is a chronic problem and theyll cover it, but in astonishingly rude tones, refused to fully fix or replace the microwave, even though I have paid for defects they now acknowledge. Instead, theyve invited me to buy a new vent cover at my own expense, investing additional money in their plainly substandard appliances. Or, I can buy a new KA microwave = at 15% off?! (To be clear, I would sooner set $649 on fire and use the flame to cook). Customer service is, at the corporate level, woefully rude and disinterested in customer satisfaction, seemingly having deaf and numb to their growing number of angry consumers. Amazingly, I visited a friend in L.A. who has the same appliances. And the same problems.

After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.

Recently purchased a top of the line KitchenAid Induction Range... Beautiful looking stove it is a $4500 range... Not a baseline model by all means kind of in the high mid-range market. Of course like everyone does made sure it noted self cleaning and for me it is especially important because I was in a really bad car accident and I am unable to use my left side only 50%. It is a button clear as they noted on the product Aqualift Self Clean. Watched the video on how to use the feature and how great it works and they use a simulation from a computer... Not a real time real oven video and it is pretty clear why because it does NOT WORK! Went back and read the instructions. Pour 16 ounces of water in the bottom of the stove, remove the racks and hit the self clean button and in 40 minutes you should be able to wipe the oven clean.Well folks to be blunt... You cant wipe **! It actually bakes the grease on the back, sides and glass of the oven more because the steam helps it spread and when you go to wipe it the cloth gets stuck as the grease is sticky and tacky. Bought the oven in May, didnt move into the home until July and tried cleaning it in Sept so literally 3 months. Wasnt really that dirty but Grandpa came over and put some meatballs on a tray and didnt cover them so there was some grease splatter. Well should have been a simple task for any real self cleaning oven but nope not one bit came off. In fact I tried cleaning the glass with the scrubby they provide etc and nothing. It is baked right on from the Aqualift.Did some research and guess what Whirlpool knows it doesnt work but continues to advertise as such! They are even in a class action law suite and when you read all the literature on the oven and the Aqualift capabilities and how great it is for the environment, no smell and simple wipe up technology wow you are sold but I guarantee you will be fooled. Even the techs that come into your home know that the product doesnt work.So to be clear when it is time to clean you add 16 ounces of water, take out the racks hit the button and in 40 mins voila. At the bottom of your stove you have 16 ounces of water that you need to now try to get out of the bottom of your stove, the grease splatter is not wipeable and now more than ever all over the back, sides, glass and bottom of your stove and absolutely will not budge without a harsh toxic chemical of some sort and some serious elbow grease and at least two hours of your time. (Dont forget about the water that is at least 40 mins to try and get all of that cleaned up and out of there.) BUT YOU VOID YOUR WARRANTY if you use any chemicals in this oven as you damage the finish that is supposed to be non stick but is not? You VOID THE WARRANTY if you use a scrubber other than the Whirlpool approved scrubber? They have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee and folks... this means Jack because they do not stand by it. I am 100% not satisfied and have called to try to work something out with them along with the other 1000s of people who have been ripped off in this scam and let me tell you they 100% dont give a crap if you are satisfied or not... If they did they wouldnt sell the Aqualift product anymore as it has caused them a slight headache. Instead of taking accountability or doing what is right and having some integrity they dont honor their guarantees, do not stand by their products and as consumers we continue to buy and raise their shares and make the higher ups rich while they buy other brands of appliances and laugh at us who are buying their brands!Oh yeah by the way the induction works great... Boils water in 30 seconds and one night just before bed the stove top all on its own turned on and became very hot melting the components all under the glass top and creating heat and warping my brand new kitchen cabinets. Stove wasnt on and they said it is a rare malfunction. WOW!!! So yeah not only is the Aqualift Defective and a whole lot of false advertising and fake promises going on... Some of the stoves have the ability to cause a fire and burn you and your family to the ground. All this for $4399.00. If youre lucky you can get it on sale for $3500 like I did. :) What a joke!Dont think that Lowes or any other of the big box brand stores will help you either. Lol they only offer 30 day warranty on appliances. I bought $8000.00 in appliances from Lowes in addition to $3000 in yard appliances in the last 3 months and they still wouldnt even help... Again why would they sell these products? They dont even care if the products they have in their stores actually work. Not happy that consumers have no recourse on any of this and this isnt enforced... in any way to protect US the people. Protect yourself by NOT buying and boycotting and hitting them where it hurts which is their share price. Thanks everyone and good luck!

It also causes the shelves to be wet all the time. The service man has ordered a new computer board for that issue but says the fan noise is normal even though we can hear it throughout the house. Just want to throw this refrigerator in the trash but it was very expensive and if they could fix the noise problem I would be happy. But the noise is driving me up the wall. Wont buy anything from Whirlpool, who owns Kitchenaid and Maytag, again.

The Glass Plate mysteriously melted after the sensor pad had started fading. Has anyone had this happen to them? Neither Whirlpool or Kitchen Aid would offer any help even though the microwave is only a year old.

Purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Home Depot on their recommendation. The machine was absolutely quiet for 6 months. Then the troubles started, Noisy - can hear in next room, grating noise on occasion and loud clicking when starting. Sent repairman, replaced control unit, then replaced motor assembly, then came and said they tested and everything was ok. Turned on machine and it was whirring loudly and repairman said sounds normal. Called KitchenAid to complain as well as Home Depot. Depot said not their problem but connected us to KitchenAid as they didnt answer the two calls I made and left messages. I wont bore you with any more details except to tell you to stay away from this brand and the parent company Whirlpool. Horrible customer service and worse product. Their people are rude and simply dont care. I had to give them a one star even though they deserve minus two, also beware of Home Depot. They couldve pressured KitchenAid but didnt. Worst appliance I have ever purchased, never again!!! Run from this brand.

This dishwasher (model KUDC10FXSS) was installed in early 2012. The electronic control panel went out less than a year later. It took about two weeks to get it replaced. Luckily it was under warranty. One year later it does not work again! I have been washing dishes by hand for more than a month waiting for this part to come in! I can never get a clear answer as to when exactly the repairman will get it. Clearly many other people are having this issue? The part seems to be in high demand! It is ridiculous. (We had another dishwasher for 20 years before this one - never had a problem!) I am so disappointed in KitchenAid not to mention frustrated! BEWARE before buying this dishwasher - or any by KitchenAid!

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator/dishwasher and stove Sept 2010 at Lowes. There was nothing wrong with my appliances. They all worked at the time I was redoing my kitchen and but wanted all new appliances. I chose KitchenAid because I thought they were one of the top of the line products. Wow was I so wrong. I have had problems with my refrigerator, started about a year after having it. I would empty my ice bucket and could not get the door to close properly. Had them out here 3 times never got it resolved. So now I just slam it as hard as I can and it closes nice. Well now it is leaking underneath on my hardwood floors so whats that mean? My hardwood floors is now ruined. I made my first phone call on Wednesday Aug 17 2016 and spoke to a supervisor Ben to tell me to buy the warranty and he will have someone out here on Monday.Well thats not acceptable now he gets someone to come out on Friday 8-12 so my husband waits and no one shows up. I am at work and I am fortunate that I am able to make phone calls. I literally was on the phone for two hours trying to get this resolved to get nowhere except Im sorry. I appreciate the Im sorry but what are you doing about it? Nothing. They blame the service that is supposed to come out and the service blames it on KitchenAid. I tell KitchenAid I will never buy another KitchenAid product again and all they say is, Im sorry you feel this way. Really, dont you want to keep your customers? Bottom line - dont buy KitchenAid. They dont stand behind their products.

I bought my side-by-side fridge at Sears as part of a suite of new KitchenAid appliances. I had the kitchen in my 100-year-old house completely remodeled last summer, and the new KitchenAid refrig, dishwasher and range hood were the centerpieces. The refrigerator just fit under a new custom-made wooden cabinet (designed around it) and beside a custom-made cabinet with granite countertop. Price for the refrig: $2, 266; price for the kitchen remodeling: @ $30,000. I started getting letters from KitchenAid right after buying the products about buying an extended warranty. I figured that $2,000 refrigerator was likely to work for a good long time. (Of course, this was a very naive view of present-day appliance quality.)The new refrigerator was installed by my contractor on Aug 15, 2012 and was a problem right from the start. The icemaker didnt work when we first plugged it in, and a service call from Sears was necessary to get it working initially. In early June 2013, both freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. By the time we realized the problem, the food in our freezer had thawed out, so we each ate three pork chops and a lot of melting ice cream and called Sears for a repairman. We couldnt schedule a repair appointment with Sears A&E Appliance Repair Service (another horror story) for a whole week, so we brought two camping coolers up to the kitchen, put the food we really needed to keep - milk, eggs, butter, etc. - in them and started making a daily trip to the store to buy $4 or so worth of ice.I took a day off from work to meet the A&E repairman. (A&E schedules their appointments in four-hour windows - 8:00 am to12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:00.) The repairman finally arrived, took the whole refrigerator apart and said it needed a new evaporator. He said the part would be delivered to our house by UPS in about a week. So we continued buying ice, emptying the coolers, and eating out a lot. The part finally came and we got calls from A&E asking us to call them and verify that the parts had been delivered. When I called, I was put on hold and then finally spoke with someone whose English was so heavily-accented I really couldnt understand her. After loudly repeating, The part is here! The part is here! over and over, I hung up, hoped the repairman would show up, and arranged for another half-day wait.A new repairman wed never seen came the second time, opened the parts box, and commented that the evaporator was all banged up. I took a look and it was obvious that a number of the flanges or fins or whatever were bent. He tried to bend them back into shape and said, Theyll be fine. It wont make any difference. I left then, but my husband was there with the repairman. When I returned a couple of hours later, my husband told me the repairman said the wrong parts had been delivered. He had ordered new parts and they would be delivered in about a week. We scheduled another repair visit. That was when we got sick from eating the food in our cooler. The whole situation was making me really angry and depressed, so I called Sears Customer Service (another nightmare) and the woman I spoke with recommended that I use dry ice in my coolers, which would have required that I drive across town to pick it up. Before the next repair visit, we were asked to make another verification call, which I made. Around 8:30 the night before the visit, A&E called and another English language-learner told me that the parts had not been delivered and the repairman wouldnt be coming. I had already arranged to miss work the next day and two boxes from UPS were sitting in my hall. I started calling anyone I could get in touch with to tell them to send the repairman, that the parts were there.I guess I convinced someone because the first repairman showed up the next afternoon at 1:00. He opened the boxes, said the essential parts were there and again, took the refrigerator apart. He installed the new evaporator, but said he couldnt get the pressure right. He spent a lot of time on his cell phone talking with another repairman who was advising him. Finally, he said, Ive done everything I can. It may cool off by tomorrow, but if it doesnt, call A&E and tell them to send Bob **, the person he had called for advice. The next morning, the refrigerator wasnt cool at all. I called A&E and asked that they send Bob out. I was told he was out sick but would come the next day. The next morning, they called back and said he was still sick. I called A&E back, got another ELL on the phone and asked to speak with his manager so I could understand the speaker. I was transferred to another number that rang for five full minutes. No one ever answered the phone. Since then, I have learned that no one ever answers that number. By this time, my entire life centered around the refrigerator. Sympathetic friends were inviting us over for dinner and showing up with casseroles. Of course, if we didnt eat the whole dish, we had to throw the rest away because we were afraid of the food in the cooler. After another few hours on the phone, I contacted someone at Sears who arranged to have a loaner refrigerator delivered to my house. Again, I arranged for a delivery. Now I had a new, broken KitchenAid refrigerator in my kitchen and a small, dented GE in my dining room. I moved my milk into the loaner and bought some ice trays.I continued my calling and got a secret number from someone at Sears that enabled me to speak with a Blue Ribbon service person at Sears (talk about oxymorons) who sounded like hed had a LOT of Xanax. The Sears employee who gave me the number said, Dont tell them where you got the number. Is this a number available only to movie stars and Columbian drug cartel bosses? After hearing a condensed version of the whole awful story, the Blue Ribbon man I spoke with said Sears would replace the refrigerator with one of equal or lesser value. I reminded him that the price had probably gone up over the past year and that I had bought the original fridge on sale. This seemed to throw him for a loop. He said he had to get some more information and hed call me back in a couple of days.I called the Blue Ribbon number again this morning and asked how my refrig had been rated by other owners because I wasnt sure I wanted another fridge just like the first one if it was going to be the same piece of junk I got last summer. (Product ratings and customer reviews werent available to me online because the appliance was a special order.) But the guy at the secret number had reviews. There were only five reviews and four had given the fridge a one--out of a possible five--points. The reviewers had reported problems that sounded like mine. I then called KitchenAid and they informed me that the only KitchenAid refrigerator that will fit into my custom-built kitchen is the same one-rated model that I now own. So much for the carefully planned kitchen with the matching appliances. If Im lucky, Sears will have something that will fit in the spot built for the other fridge.

When cleaning up a small spill in my KitchenAid side by side I removed the glass shelf over the vegetable crisper and placed in my sink. Picking up a paper towel I wet it with tap water and started to wipe off the spill when the glass exploded in little small shards that shot across my kitchen. My dogs were sitting beneath the sink and got glass in their coat, my shirt had glass on it. I was stunned. It took an hour and a half to completely clean up all of the glass. Very very dangerous. I did not use any warm water.

Purchased a Kitchen Aid side-by-side refrigerator as part of a new home purchase. Everything was fine for the first year but then the lights in the refrigerator and freezer began going out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a service repair. Two lights were replaced (at no cost to me) and about 3 months later, the same issue came up again; no lights. Again I called Kitchen Aid and they sent out the same service repair company and they again replaced two lights (at no cost to me). Now, 4 months have passed and the lights are out again in both the refrigerator and freezer.I called Kitchen Aid a third time and they said the refrigerator was out of warranty and I was on my own even though they didnt fix the problem when it was under warranty. I believe the LED light panel needs to be replaced costing several hundred dollars. Kitchen Aid quality is average at best and I would recommend not purchasing their product. My refrigerator retails for about $10,000, model KBSD608ESS, so I would expect much better quality.
