I love everything about my Viking range. This is probably my fourth Viking. The two homes I purchased had Viking Ranges in them previously. Then I have a home down in the Dominican Republic, and that range in there is around 30 years old. I just replaced the igniters on it, and it works like its brand new. Its amazing. I like the longevity. The price point is pretty high, but they last forever. Were still waiting on service for the range in my house. The far right bottom igniter has never worked. The service people are coming back out tomorrow, but this is their third visit. I’m a little apprehensive because they took the whole panel off on the front where there are 10 adjusting knobs. I told them, “Guys, its the igniter. I dont know if youre supposed to do that.” One tech said, “Well, I ordered this part, but my boss says its another part.” I told him, “But your boss wasnt here diagnosing it originally.” So thats kind of ass-backwards and the guy was here for about four hours. Also, Ive noticed that when I turn on the gas, sometimes the flame is higher on one side than the other. I had to keep turning on the pan when I was cooking.

I was looking at the features, design, haptic feedback, meaning how things slide, the soft close of the drawers, and layout. One of the things that I didnt consider was Viking because Viking and Thermador are usually premium, luxury, and mansion-type brands, until seeing at that price point-wise. They make for the regular persons reasonably-priced refrigerators. We didnt need a water dispenser in the front or ice sensor and they were one of the few manufacturers that didnt have that. I just dont like the gasket sealant. Im getting some frost where the gasket is peeling off the door. I havent had the opportunity to call Viking yet to ask them if they can fix it.

I bought a house that has a Viking Range. So far, the quality is good. I like the stovetop with the gas and heavy-duty grates. It’s easy to maintain and clean. However, I recently called them about some parts. There were some little rubber grommets on the bottom of the stove grate that shrink with heat and fall out. And I still haven’t received my replacement parts they offered. But other than that, the oven itself is very efficient and cooks way quicker than I expected. Plus, my interaction with the reps was good and they were helpful and friendly.

My comments echo the thread. I bought a Viking dishwasher in 2009. Im on my third repair. It worked poorly when it was up and running. Many of the electronic controls failed (e.g. did not run on pots and pans setting, but did run on normal). Now it simply does not run. I went into the repair shop on 5/14. As of 6/17, still waiting on parts from Viking. Customer service talks a good game, but thats about it. Its talk has not resulted in action. I have made a demand for a replacement washer (good luck right?). Ill update the thread on the outcome. For anyone who is thinking about a Viking, this thread speaks for itself. BTW, reliability issues aside, the parts do not fit (i.e. the rack attachments fall out of their fittings and develop rust. The silverware basket bottoms wear out, thus, allowing silverware to fall through).

Ive known all my life that Viking is a good brand. They had a pretty convenient package at Pacific Sales and their people are very professional. We are renovating and so there was a refrigerator, washing machine, microwave and two other items that all had matching faces, so we decided to go with that. The pull out ice tray of the refrigerator is pretty cute. There are little hiccups with the fridge but its quality is good.

I bought a $8,500 Viking Refrigerator in late 2004. When I started having problems in 2017, I called the only appliance repair in Fredericksburg, VA for Viking. They arrived and charged $90 and told me to plug the fridge in after it defrosted. The repairman had taken out the basket and freezer door and took the screws with him. When I called them, they sent me an estimate for $1500. I asked them why $1500 estimate when they didnt run the diagnostics? They said that was the worst case scenario. How can anyone decide whether to repair or not if you dont know whats wrong. I called Viking customer service and they were indifferent. DONT BUY VIKING!

I knew about Viking Ranges from back in the days that it’s a high-end commercial range. They’re one of the first ranges from back in the day that have been still around, and I recently also heard that they have improved their latest model. So, I decided to go and get one, and I love it. I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. Ive used my range and have gone back to the department store. I looked at the lower-end models and the integrity of the material isn’t there, like the grill grates and the griddle. Everything is just built a lot better on the Viking gas range.

We looked around at different places when we needed to buy another built-in refrigerator. Vikings reputation wasnt that great, but I thought I would take a gamble on it because I was told that they improved the product a lot. But what really sold me was that I liked the space on the refrigerator door - the little stuff on the door for condiments. Some of the other refrigerators did not have that. With the refrigerator, you dont have to change the filter. It has some kind of purification system on it. Weve had the refrigerator for about six months now and so far so good. It fits my needs. I havent had any complaints and Im hoping it continues that way. But I dont think I would be going back to the dealership. At first, they were nice then they kept on saying that the refrigerator was delivered then it wasnt delivered then it was delivered. I got a little bit angry at the gentleman on the phone. I also wanted an extended warranty and he said he was gonna send me the information but he never did. There were just follow-up issues.

We were looking for counter-depth refrigerator design and there werent many options out there but Viking has one. On Monday, we actually contacted the store where we purchased the Viking refrigerator to let them know its having some trouble and to check the temperature because our freezer is over freezing. We adjusted the temperature and its still over freezing. We have a lot of frost in the freezer. My husband was to get back with the rep after we had adjusted the temperature. They said that they were gonna send someone out and have that checked for us so well have to call them back and have them schedule someone.

Our Viking range came with my new kitchen. It is a beautiful piece of architecture, and I love its high quality. I like the dual nature of it. Its an electric range gas top. I love how it looks and feels. We had a service call on it, though. Periodically and almost in a random way, the settings for the oven were not matching what it was doing. So we’d put it on bake at 425 and it would bake at 200 or something. And every once in while, it would switch into the cleaning mode and lock itself up and get really hot even though it was set on bake or whatever. It was totally weird. It locked us out once, and it didn’t cook while we had food in it.

Viking had the best package for me when I looked at all the other options. The team at the dealership was great. I like my range but I already have had to have somebody come out to do a repair on it. Another tech would come out on Friday next week to do a repair on one of the ranges knobs. Needing those repairs have been unfortunate, but other than that, everything has been fine. They were covered under the warranty and it was very simple to get a hold of somebody to set everything up.

My husband and I remodeled and bought the Professional side by side in 2006
My husband and I remodeled and bought the Professional side by side in 2006. We had it replaced due to a dent in it and the ice machine not working in 2008 by warranty. The replacement had issues too. We have replaced the ice container a couple of times for $300 ea. Now its broken and it will cost $500. We noticed that there were 2 screws that are missing. It has been worked on but not sure if it was factory or labor issue. Plus water dispenser doesnt work. That’s been worked on too. Recently cleaning the fridge out, I noticed cracks on the inside of the door unit. The drawers are all broken. We replaced a couple of them about two years ago for $100 ea. Broken again. The fridge still works, but the breakage is not good.We had a refrigerator for over 20 yrs prior to this that still worked and had no problems. Buyers remorse? Probably. I have pictures showing the issuer cracks inside of the unit. By the way, my hubby and I are senior citizens and take care of our things. I would love to be able to send my concerns to the company with pictures.

We originally had a Northland refrigerator and it had a single, swing-out door. We started looking for another ref and we decided to go with a ref with double doors. I opened every two-door, swing-out model and looked at the trays, shelves, drawers, and guides, and how well these were made and fitted. Compared to their competitors, Viking had the product with the best custom interior and guides for drawers and shelves, and they were hands down above all the other ones that we saw on the market. Also, our experience with the dealer was excellent. They do a nice job and we buy a lot of appliances from them. The ref we got from them is nice and we like it. It keeps our food cold and frozen the way its supposed to and everything is operating the way we expected, so were happy with it. We like the double doors too. Buy from Viking. They do their homework well.

Checked and they had a recall but it started with models later than ours. This is truly a safety hazard. Not to mention we paid twice what you would normally pay for a dishwasher based on the name and reputation of Viking appliances. We totally regret that decision. Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

When I contacted Viking about this problem; they responded first with having a certified personnel come out and take a look at the rust. Then when the personnel reported it back to Viking they responded with it was a human error and did nothing about this at all. I followed the seasoning procedures in their manual. My Viking range that was purchased in 2005 has never worked properly and I have had numerous service calls. Most recently, the burner bases have been misfiring and was told by an authorized Viking repairman that about 3 years ago Viking updated the burner bases due to a design flaw! I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

I have had my Viking 2 door refrigerator since 2001, I love it! I say that, but it has been leaking since day 1. I have had more repair people out to my house than I care to admit, because tempory fixes are still cheaper than a new one. My issue? Water leaking from under the refrigerator, it has been happening off and on since 2001. And today, 6/8/2018, there is so much water on the floor of my kitchen I had to leave the house today (for work) with a ton of towels on the ground and I am working to get someone to come out to my house (AGAIN) to try and fix it. My other concern is even attempting to try and find a fridge large enough to fit into the spot that the Viking fridge is in (if I attempted to replace it). Sad, but still LOVE my Viking (I know, I am crazy).

Ive known about Viking forever and as a matter of fact, the brother of one of my friends in Iowa used to be a distributor for Viking. I had a GE Profile that broke down after about five years and I was not about to put any money into it, so I thought Id invest in a Viking. Ive dealt with the dealer, Abt, before for other things and I got my Viking refrigerator from them. The guys who installed it were absolutely wonderful and they tried not to scratch floors. They did a good job and it was first class as far as installation. While the water for the GE was hooked up with plastic, the Viking has a nice metal flexible pipe. Howeve, the bottom drawer broke apart when I pulled it out. A gentleman came out, looked at it, and said that theyll send me a new one. They sent another drawer out and so that was no problem. Another thing also is that every time I looked at the temperature on the GE, it was the same temperature on my little thermometer. On the Viking, the temperature jumps around so it does things differently. Still, it runs quite a bit more than my GE ran.

I’ve known about Viking for quite some time. The name was pretty strong but they went through some rough patches as of recent. But I liked changes that were made after the company was purchased by Middleby. I liked the BTUs that they offered too. There werent many out there that had higher BTU. I used to have a Viking 16 years ago and the new one works just as good as the old one. We had some growing issues where they, unfortunately, tried to keep up with demand and not necessarily putting as much time and effort into research and development. But it looks like the purchase by the newer company has fixed all those issues. My range is a solid piece of equipment. So far, it’s been working fine and is doing everything I expected it to do. I like the strength of the front three burners. I cook a lot. When finishing off sous vide or doing cordon steaks, you need the high BTU. Typically, I braised pork belly for 10 hours but I like to finish it off with a really good high sear as they caramelize. The range is helpful because it has high heat to it.Also, when I had an issue with one of my knobs, a replacement knob was sent to me immediately. Overall, I had a very good experience with the company. I like the fact that Viking has a local office here in California as well so if I ever have an issue, I could always try and get on to their distribution center or their facility over here.

My professional freestanding dual fuel range and oven has been a major bust! I have owned it for 8 years and so far I have had to replace the entire electric control panel. Then the other day I was using the self cleaning function and my control board underneath caught on fire. Sparks and fire coming up from underneath the unit. So extremely scary and dangerous. Viking has nothing say except sorry. I now need $1,100.00 in parts and one of the items is out of stock and they don’t have ETA. The first time my Oven broke it was not useable for 4 weeks!!!! This time they can’t even give me an idea of timing. The killer is I was deciding between a Wolf and Viking and I clearly chose poorly. Carefully think about your high end purchase.

Having a Viking Range is something that Ive always wanted for quite some time. Theyre expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. Theyre all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldnt put a big pot on it. Then youre limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, theyre basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options. We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. Then they gave me the name of a local appliance or service dealer who could come fix the issue weve had with the installation that wasnt done properly. Ive been happy with the service we received so far.

My friend had a Viking range and recommended it to us. We didn’t have a place for a double oven in the wall, so I wanted a large range and the Viking range happened to be available. We were looking at Wolf initially but the Viking range that we found and purchased was with the dual fuel and it was also the floor model. So it was over the top, but our kitchen is over the top as well, so it went with our kitchen. Also, the quality of the range is wonderful. I like the convection oven that Ive never had before and I use it all the time. It definitely works a lot faster than other ovens. We received a lot of appliances with different brands from the Viking dealer and the reps there were good. When we first had the Viking range installed, the convection fan was really loud and would rattle the floor when we put the convection oven on. They had somebody come out and replace the fan. It still gets a little loud, but it doesn’t do anymore what it did before, and we hope that we don’t have to ever deal with that situation again. They definitely rectified the situation promptly and that was really good. I will go back to Viking Ranges.

Our home is new construction and not our permanent home. We plan to live in the house 50% of the time. We moved in October 20, 2020. We purchased all Viking kitchen appliances and mind you this is our first Viking purchase and will be our last. After the first use of the stove top, it started rusting. The front panel and the back vent panel. No chemicals were used to clean. All I used was dawn detergent, water and a microfiber cloth. After contacting Viking we were told that we have a 90 day cosmetic warranty so they are willing to replace the parts that are rusting. Huh??? The oven had not been used or the oven door had not been wiped down. The microwave or dishwasher had not been used either at this point. So Viking was to just replace the parts that are rusting and Im to hold my breath that nothing else rusts in the 90 days or it will not be covered. Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable?I told Viking that stainless steel should not rust and so quickly. After submitting a request to Viking for a replacement range, management declined my request. I bet if “management” paid $7000 for a range and it rusted the first time they cooked, they would not find this acceptable. I will never buy Viking again and their customer service stinks. I’ve had to call Viking every time because they do not call back or follow up.

I had a Jenn-Air range but I didn’t like the way it cooked on the gas. A couple of my cousins and family members have Viking ranges and I also researched on them. I liked the reputation that I read about them and bought a few things - a range, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. The Viking range is much better. It cooks much faster. It’s of good quality but the only thing I’m having a problem with is the grates in the oven. I can’t get it in and out easily. It sticks. Also, they didn’t explain clearly that I bought the non-self-clean oven. They didn’t go through everything for me. They didn’t tell me the ins and the outs of each of the ranges. If I could exchange this, I would get the other one.

We went to a local Best Buy store looking for appliances and chose to buy Viking over other competitors because of the quality and the customer reviews that we had seen online. Best Buy assured us that because they sell the product, they were associated with Pacific Sales which sells Viking. They went ahead and did what they could to earn our business and matched the price that weve had gotten at our local friends appliance. They beat it by $500.However, it was probably the worst purchasing experience I have ever gone through. We purchased it on September 6 and by the week of Thanksgiving, we received part of our purchase which were the refrigerator, the microwave, the dishwasher, and the range. The people who installed the refrigerator broke the handles and dented the doors so they had to replace those. The double oven showed up totally damaged. The entire front looks like it have been dropped. It was mangled and we couldnt even open the doors. We refused delivery on it so that they would take it back and get us a new one.We had spoken with Best Buy and Pacific Sales numerous times and they had given us the name and number of the Viking rep who serviced that door. The Viking sales rep assured us that everything would be taken cared of but she stopped returning my husbands call. We got our range that was damaged about five weeks ago and it was installed but about a week later, it had an F3 error on the bottom oven. So now we are waiting for the local rep because I did an online service call and they sent the information to the local person to fix them. They were scheduled to come yesterday but they didnt come. Now, theyre scheduled to come sometime this afternoon. It has been a bad experience from start to finish. Outside of the purchase itself and the fact that we finally got the oven with some sort of an error wouldnt have been a big deal if we hadnt waited almost eight months for it to arrive. It wouldnt have been such a terrible experience as far as Viking is concerned, but I am concerned as to who sells their product because it doesnt care well for Viking. Nevertheless, our Viking appliances are all great. We love all of them when everythings working. Even the oven is great with the top one thats working. The refrigerator has been the most beneficial for our family. I like that it has great space and everythings there. With it having different temperatures on, Im able to keep the cheese and the vegetables from freezing. Its an all around good product and is well built.

I got a Viking range lately and Ive had a bit of an issue with the burners. I’m out in the boonies so it’s on propane. But then, I don’t think the burners on the range burn evenly as I can get a higher flame on one side. Nevertheless, I love the six burners and the way the range looks. Christmas came and went, cooked for 15 on Coleman stoves in the yard. Called again on the 28, fully dressed down by sick/grumpy customer service rep. Told they currently have no service company for Nth Florida and that I would have to be patient and wait on them to find one. I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water. My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent. To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.

Weve had Viking Ranges for years. My wife likes the look and the performance of these ranges. Our current range is night and day compared to the one that weve bought 10 years ago. The quality and the features have improved. We got an eight-topper, and it really accents a high end kitchen well for looks and performance. We had a little bit of an install issue with the dealer named Big Georges in Ann Arbor. One of the lights was not screwed in and I didn’t feel I got a good follow up from them. I called, went down there and asked for some help but they were kinda telling me that I am own my own. That pissed me off. I wasn’t happy with the dealer, but the warranty guy from High End Appliance here in Michigan made up for some of the lackings of the appliance dealer.

3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. What a horrible company and product line. You pay full price for high end products and you get junk with a company that does not stand by its appliances. Stay far far away from Viking. I will gladly find the picture of the stove top if anyone wants to see.

Built a new home in 2011, my ex wanted an elaborate kitchen that would be functional and fun to entertain in. We purchased Viking refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 12 gas burners and 4 ovens, because our impression was Viking was top of the line. Turns out the line begins at the rear. The dishwashers never worked properly and I discarded them after 2 years & numerous service calls. The burners took several trips and replacement of the castings to get them level. The ovens take forever to reach temperature and each one takes a different setting to maintain required temperatures. Both doors on the refrigerator and freezer have sagged and required adjustments. Currently, we have been waiting for a month for a part for the refrigerator, in order to get the temperature under 50 degrees. Called yesterday again and was told that the part was on order and coming from the factory. I asked if it was coming by Pony Express, hello Viking have you heard about FedEx yet? Good thing I kept the 15-year-old Whirlpool or we would be eating out of a cooler.

We have a refrigerator which is only a few years old but my wife wanted the ones with industrial-looking handles so we bought a Viking Refrigerator. Also, a friend said that they would be better than Thermadors and Viking has a good reputation. But it had issues with the cooling that was running almost 24/7. It kept running and running and never shuts off except for five minutes and it will run for another six or seven hours. Then, opening the freezer door, it looked like a mist was coming in from the cooling bins where the cool air comes in. According to the sales guy, this indicates too much humidity but he didn’t really know where this was coming from.We contacted the retailer and a guy came by and said there might be an issue. He suggested waiting until it’s in its final place because its still in the living room. Then, hed come by to level out the refrigerator and freezer appropriately and hopefully, the issue would be addressed. If not, they will have to provide some parts. It was a little disheartening considering it’s a brand new unit we paid a lot of money for. Therefore, we will know more in two weeks once it’s in its final place in the kitchen.

I started my degree in design and have always been very into design, form, function and how things look. I go through all the magazines and when I saw Viking the first time, I thought I wanted those in my home. One of the main reasons I loved the Viking is because it’s very simple, the lines are very sleek, and elegant. I went to an appliance dealer in Spokane, Washington and the salesman showed me all of the appliances. Wolf is a little intense for me. Six months later, we had to hone in on what we were gonna put in the house and so we went to that dealership in Bend, Oregon. I kept bringing Viking up and the rep kept taking me away from it. He said the brand doesnt update and doesnt have anything new and fancy with their machine. But thats why I want it. I don’t want anything fancy. There’s not even a clock on my stove. First I was kind of taken aback and I thought, “Oh, I have to use my own timer.” Now that I’ve used it, it’s what I love about it. There’s none of those pieces that often have problems down the road. The temperature is very true to the dial. I have a thermostat in there and when I put it on 350 and I wait 30 minutes, it’s at 350. The refrigerator doesn’t have the water feature that a lot of refrigerators have. When I open it up, it’s incredibly bright and it’s like the heavens open up. You just see everything. I’ve noticed that I can also keep vegetables or fruits in the compartment for a longer period of time than I’ve been able to in the past. It’s interesting how many people have come in to look at the house and they’ve all made comments on Viking. It just works so well and accentuates everything else that is in this kitchen.

I purchased Viking appliances in November 2009 - dishwasher, refrigerator, stove. My dishwasher has not been working since the beginning of July 2013 despite 4 visits by a tech and numerous phone calls to the extended warranty company and Viking. It was also repaired in 2010 and 2011. My refrigerator is also on its third repair and is failing to keep a consistent temperature... It is either freezing food or else keeping food in the 40-42 degree range. These are marketed as Professional appliances and certainly do not live up to this reputation. I discourage all consumers from purchasing Viking appliances... They come with a hefty price tag and leave the consumer frustrated, disillusioned and dissatisfied.

Viking has quality in its name and it was on sale at the store so I bought a stove that is a combination convection and a radiant oven. The quality of the construction is good and the oven works well, but the durability of the trim and details is poor. The grates have a little rubber piece that plugs into the bottom of it that separates from the range-top that it sits on and those have started falling out. I called Viking and they said that those were only covered by a 90-day warranty. I was pretty displeased about that. I talked to managers there and they wouldn’t stand behind their product so it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I thought that they needed to take this seriously. In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

When our Viking range was first brought in, the range had a panel that wasnt squared. It had been assembled off-kilter so people had to come out and take care of that. Then getting the range set up was a little bit challenging as well. We put the full range in the island so we needed to get a downdraft. But the Viking dealer didnt seem to be quite as knowledgeable to be able to tell our builder what exactly was gonna be needed to install the downdraft. They gave us the specifications but it didnt really include anything as far as the downdraft being vented down underneath the floor. When you have a cooktop, the downdraft goes in the cabinet underneath. So our case was a little different too and that was partly why they were unfamiliar with doing it that way. This range also basically came with a free dishwasher but it doesnt dry. It also has had a strange odor from day one. Then for the warranty, I went online and put the information for the range. But for the dishwasher, there was a registration-type card. I mailed it but it came back to me because the address was wrong. It made me ask whether that was why they were getting rid of the dishwashers. But other than those, everything has been great so far. I like the overall look and style of the burner. The range also has a light that comes on when you open the door. Then there is a little button that you can push for the light to come on when the door is shut. But the light doesnt come on and it has never worked. The supplier from whom we purchased the oven has given me a number to call though. That aside, the quality is good. We also got the griddle that you can put off and on the top of any of the burners and its a great feature. I love that thing. It’s a non-stick one rather than purchasing the range that has the griddle built into it.

It works, and it gets my beer cold.

I had heard about the Viking range at the culinary school, and I got one because I really liked its performance. Ive had my Viking range since November and its really good. I like the open burner and that it has the two ovens, and I love to work with the griddle. But it was actually pretty rough with the team at the Viking dealer where I purchased it. I bought it from the website and they dropped it off, but they didnt install it, and it was here lying in my kitchen without the feet for a few weeks. I was going back and forth with them on the phone, asking them to come and install it because its a heavy range and I couldnt install it myself or with my husband. I remember that I was preparing this huge dinner for Thanksgiving with my family and we just ended up going to my in-laws house. Finally, they installed my range in the first week of December, almost four weeks after it was delivered. Despite that bad experience with the delivery, however, I will surely recommend Viking. The experience I had with my Viking range was amazing. Everybody said theyre very impressed with my range, and I love it. I love to cook and bake in it.

We bought top of the line Viking Refrigerator & all other Viking kitchen appliances about 6 years ago from Airport Appliances with 10 year extended warranty for additional $2K Associated Service Corp. Warranty. First year, the ice maker does not work properly & froze in the door which we couldnt use any more. Then, the water line busted & flooded/damaged our house which we had to file insurance claim. Now, it stopped working & was blowing hot air. We contacted Jags Appliance Repair 510-494-9574 who charged us $135 service call & said that compressor, serpentine, heat exchanger, evaporator needs new which will costs another $1700 for repairs (parts covered), not to mention the spoiled food. I called Airport Appliances 510-783-3494 that they cant do anything & that we should contact Associated Service Warranty that we purchased from them for $2K. I called Associated Service Corp Warranty 800-325-4363. They said they only cover up to $160 only, but the service agreement states otherwise that labor is included... I contacted Viking Bay Area Regional Manager/Sue ** who said that Viking parts are covered & can pay only $350 towards the repair, or buy another Viking refrigerator half price. (No thanks to purchasing another Viking products & never recommend this expensive piece of metal that doesnt work.) I forgot to mention that bottom metal piece is rusting too!

We were very excited 4 years ago to be able to afford our first “professional” range. Purchased a Viking and it was terrible. $1000 motherboard repair followed by a broken door. Dumping today. Nice waste of $5500. No customer support from Viking during any of this. Not even help finding a repair option in our area. Will never purchase another Viking product.

We purchased our Viking 48 built in in 2005 and during the next two years, had (11) service calls to either fix the ice maker or the temperature control module. The ice maker never functioned properly and we finally replaced it at a cost of over $550. Their service rep. actually argued and yelled at my wife on the phone because the item was out of warranty. How in the hell can any company stand for that type of customer relations and expect people like us to recommend their products?? But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are some companies that still know the business of good customer relations and that is Wolf / Sub Zero. Point in fact, my double oven control unit went out. We called the Wolf service center and asked them if there was anything they could do for us to minimize the cost of replacing the module at $760.00. They immediately said that they would waive the cost of the parts but we would have to pay a service fee of $125. DONE DEAL. By the way, the unit was ten years old. I tell this story to everyone who will listen, perhaps Viking will, someday. To be fair, I did find out that there was a recall on the refrigerator door pins that could break and the door could fall off. I called and they were very nice and will cover the replacement costs and parts 100%, which they should on any safety recall.

We recently built a new house and purchased a Viking range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and wine refrigerator. In a short amount of time, we have had the refrigerator repaired four times - all involving issues with the ice maker and water dispenser. The dishwasher still works but the button that lights up when you push start does not. Apparently, that costs a couple of hundred dollars to repair. The wine refrigerator needed a new thermostat - that was a $400 repair. So far, we have not had any issues with the range or microwave. A Viking representative came out and repaired the refrigerator free of charge, but the other items were out of warranty (only 15 months old!). I have emailed customer support several times, but to no avail. I am a very, very unhappy and dissatisfied customer.

The quality of Viking Ranges is excellent. When I called their customer service and asked them, Will your stove do this? Will your range perform this?, they were able to answer my question and point me directly, and they have always been like that. In all the 8 or 9 months I’ve owned the range, I have not had anything outside of that. It has been consistent and direct. I’m very lucky to have had that Viking. It’s a really great piece of equipment and I chose it for its performance. There isnt one thing that I do in there that is subpar. I had a JennAir for 20 years before that so I knew the professional-level range. I was expecting it to be good. I wasn’t expecting it to be great, and it was great. Somebody would say, “Oh my goodness, you paid $10,000 for a range.” I did, but it performs. It does exactly what it says it does. It’s beautiful to look at too. It’s like a work of art. One of the best features of the range is the clean-up because you get cooking, start grilling this, sauteeing this, doing a sauce here and things spill and oil starts flying. And I can have that stovetop and everything wiped down and done in under 10 minutes which is a blessing. The range has to be the easiest range I’ve ever had to clean. I cook a lot in the kitchen. I make everything - my own pastas, my own bread rolls, crackers, soups and soup bases. I do everything on that and I grill. I do pastries and brioches. I do all sorts of stuff in there that everybody says the degree of difficulty is extreme, yet the results on these things are superior in that stove. Dinners and everything are like works of art. It’s like somehow my cooking went from being good to superior, and it’s that range.I also bake pies. As a matter of fact, I just made 12 dozen butter tarts. Never in my whole life have I ever baked a pastry at 325 degrees. It’s always 400 or 425. So, the first time I baked a pie, I’m looking at the Viking book, and theyre saying, 325, X amount of minutes. I thought it was insane. It has to be wrong. So I went to my old habits and baked it at 400. The results were abysmal. It was overbaked on the outside and raw on the inside. I did it again and I did it according to Viking. It was the best I have ever made in my whole life and that was where I then really sat down and started to read everything and anything I could on Viking and how to use this piece of equipment with optimum.I would recommend this range. My only thing is this is a professional-level range so theres a learning curve on it because it performs differently than a 799 General Electric special. This is like buying a Ferrari and thinking you’re driving a Chevy Volt. Theyre totally different things. The shame is that Viking is not out there more. They don’t have a place to really promote it. I looked at them all and I almost went with a Wolf. It was between Wolf and Thermador. What almost got me to go to Wolf was their pizza setting and they have a pizza stone. I sat down and I thought I really wanted that Viking, and I thought back of all the reasons why I wanted it. I had to search to see who was selling it. I couldnt find anybody in Canada. It was Bryan from Middleby Group that helped me.Bryan answered my questions immediately. If he said it, it was done. It was none of this backstepping or trying to fluff over or trying to play me like I was stupid. However, I will never use Corbeil, the company who they shipped it to, again. Their product knowledge and support were poor. Their ability to answer questions, even simple ones, was non-existent. And not only that, when I went into Corbeil and gave them feedback that the Viking Range is superior, the store manager said right to my face, Oh, this is a piece of crap. We won’t even sell these.Because the feedback from Corbeil was so poor, I was really apprehensive and unsure of myself and insecure when I first got Viking. I thought maybe I made the wrong choice but I didnt. It bakes bread to perfection. Pizza, 375 on my pizza stone, is the best. It rivals a pizza oven which my in-laws have. And I can get better results in my Viking than they get in their pizza oven, so you don’t lose anything. On Viking, they have a defrost cycle and a dehydrate cycle which are fabulous. The top burners are also ever fabulous. I wasn’t gonna get the sealed unit. I was gonna get an all-gas unit. Bryan said to me, “But you bake and you do this a lot. Get the dual fuel. You’ll be very happy with it,” and I’m really glad I did. He listened to me and he was able to guide me into making my choice. He knew his product. He was just a joy. He’s VP for all of Canada, and he answered or returned my call. He was so good.I have nothing but great things to say about Viking and I don’t understand why the appliance centers are abysmal. And it’s not just for Viking. It’s for all of them. They don’t know their product and it’s whatever theyre pushing at the time. This is why you get consumers who get the product in their house, and theyre like, “What the heck is this? This is a piece of garbage.” It degrades very quickly. The least little thing is a complaint, is a complaint, is a complaint. And it has nothing to do with these manufacturers but everything to do with those showrooms. I told my husband if I were new to the professional level, I would probably choose a Series 3. That’s a very nice-looking range. Probably 20 years ago, that’s what I wouldve chosen. Today, I’m dying to get into that Series 7. Because we’re thinking of moving in the next year, I’d have to do that Tuscany one. That’s a really beautiful one too. But I’m dying to get into the Series 7, the big honking one. My JennAir from my other home was quite large, but it was cumbersome, and the results were unpredictable. It was also difficult to clean. And I’ve experienced none of that with the Viking. It’s like coming out of purgatory and going into heaven.

We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

I was looking into a more professional level of cooking appliances. My husbands parents have had Viking for years and he really liked them so we just went with that one instead of a Wolf. Theyre all very similar but I liked the name recognition and experience of Viking. The dealer was excellent, very knowledgeable about the product and helpful with questions. Our Viking range is of excellent quality. We have a dual range and a cooktop thats propane so we really like the feature of the convection and all the options in the oven. We like the size of it too. We have six burners and it definitely functions with big holiday events. And when we had any repair issues, which had been minimal, they were very quick to get us a repair guy here and they did a great job.

We purchased a gas 48 inch Viking, 6 burner, 1 griddle range from a Viking Range Certified Kitchen company. In the first 3 years, under warranty, it was serviced 3 times for overheating and shutting off after 40 minutes at 400+ degrees. After the warranty lapsed, we had a 4th service call with estimated parts and repair at (00 for hinges. We were told the hinges were not holding the door to create a strong enough seal within the oven and the heat fried the control module. We contacted Viking Range, who agreed the hinges were a manufacturing defect and replaced the hinges. Six months later, using the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes-- it shuts off and the ignition spark went off (sparking but not catching for about 30 minutes until we had to pull the huge oven away from the wall and unplug it). Another service call, another $900 to explain why the oven overheats-- this time saying the seal on the door isnt trapping heat and the heat is again reaching the control module. This oven is defective, we have never been able to use it above 450, which is why I bought it in the first place. It was a $9,000 stove with a $2000 vent hood and over $3000 has been spent in under 5 years to maintain it. Viking Range will not claim responsibility for what we know to clearly be a faulty unit.

Our GE refrigerator doesnt have as good as the quality that we expected for the price. The worst part is I cant really get it cleaned. I follow the instructions as to how to get that stainless cleaned and it doesnt do what the manual tells me. It doesnt really look like I would want it to look, which is to look uniform. It doesnt come out even and the surface is so bad to clean that I keep those fiberglass things so that when I open and close the doors, I dont have to do the handles constantly. And the other thing which we didnt know when we purchased it was we just assumed it had an ice maker and it doesnt have an ice maker.

The Viking Professional side-by-side refrigerator has operated for about 7 years without any real issues. However, today the water dispenser activated and flooded our kitchen floor. Thankfully we were home and awake when it happened and were able to figure out if we lock the dispenser the water stops flowing. The ice dispenser works fine, but the water flows even when the ice dispenser is being used. It keeps beeping as it would when locked and someone tries to use it, even though the switch is not being physically activated. This makes me VERY nervous to even repair it as the damage it would cause if it went on for hours and hours (or even days if we were to travel) is nerve-wracking. What if it malfunctions again? The repair guy is coming in a couple days and we hope it wont dispense water while locked.

I spent over $20,000.00 on a complete Viking appliance replacement for 15-year-old Whirlpool Gold appliances. Most expensive mistake I ever made. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes at all and the inside of the dishwasher is always wet after a cycle. The refrigerator is very noisy and the condenser fan is louder than a jet engine when running on full. Freezer items have frost on them and I can only hope it does not break down in the near future. The convection microwave does not even pop popcorn correctly (or at all) unless bag is placed on a bowl turned upside down? Convection cooktop seems to be working okay as does the oven thus far. I have had several repair calls on the refrigerator with no repairs. One repair person indicated it was supposed to be loud. Do yourself a favor and buy Kenmore Elite or something else besides Viking for 1/3 the cost and 100 times better quality. I want my Whirlpool Gold back (as well as my $20,000.00). Viking needs to wake up before they go out of business. Is there a lemon law for appliances. These are all appliance purchased in late 2013 and I am already looking to replace them all.

I had my Viking range and stove delivered and set up. I used the burners right away. They are fantastic, provide a HUGE amount of heat, are quiet, and easy to keep clean. The oven, which I would now rate a 5 out of 5, made a terrible grinding fan noise the first time I used it. Lakeview Appliance came out, their tech tightened a few things in the back, and it was quiet for 3 days. The horrendous noise came back, and this time we recorded the noise from several angles with my Wifes smartphone. This time when the tech came out, he listened to the recording, checked a few things on the back of the oven, and stated that he was ordering a new cooling fan. This did the trick! The oven is now quiet, powerful, and works like a charm! Overall I would rate the unit a 5 out of 5 now that it is fixed. It is a great looking unit, very professional in appearance, and the stainless surfaces are easy to keep clean.

We had an old FiveStar 48-inch and we were the second owner and it was on its last legs, so we decided to get a new one instead of spending a lot of money fixing it up. But of course we had a 48-inch space, so we needed a big oven to fill that space instead of redoing the counters. My wife looked at Wolf, Thermador, and the likes and they were all comparably priced. Viking was on the higher end, but one of the main things that had my wife decide was that she was able to get it in colors. Also, she had worked in the restaurant business before and had used Viking on the commercial side. So she knew that they held up and they lasted. The Viking Range works as advertised. It has a griddle and a convection feature. It also has a small oven for a casserole dish and a big one that would fit a full-size cookie sheet with room to spare. We bought it in a store and the dealer was helpful and courteous. They also answered all our questions. However, we had to wait for 12 weeks because of the color but on the day we decided to buy it, we were in and out of there in no time at all.

I had some Viking products before and I love their products. I got a refrigerator and its very organized, compressed and is a nice statement in the kitchen. It also seems to be energy efficient because it doesn’t run in a cycle. It runs on and off a lot versus the thing compressing the air. It also maintains the temperature very easily and its quiet. The guys who brought the ref in were extremely careful and good at moving the big and heavy product. But I was offended by my experience with their dealers. They sent out a refrigerator which was boxed and I saw the delivery guys open it in front of my house and it was damaged in the box. They brought it in and they said the damage could be easily fixed by replacing one piece. I told them it was fine, I needed the refrigerator for the holiday. But as I installed the refrigerator, I noticed one packaging slip on the side of it so I removed it and inside the slip was the receipt that a new box had been ordered for this refrigerator. The refrigerator was sold to another family in a nearby suburb and returned by that family because it was damaged. But the dealer sold it to me as a new product.I immediately called the supplier and it was like the girl had been waiting for my call. They knew exactly what was going on and they ordered me another one. The other one came and they said, “Just use this one in the meantime.” I wasn’t really out a refrigerator for a long period of time, but it was just the idea of them trying to slip this damaged one past me. I would be hesitant in purchasing a high-priced item from this company again even though Im happy with the product itself.

The usual temperature for a refrigerator is 30 degrees and they recommended zero for the freezer. But when I do that, the top shelf which is the refrigerator side gets frozen. We just received a new Viking VDR5486GSS $13,419 dollar 48 Inch 5 Series Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Freestanding Range and we can’t even use it. Right from the factory it has two left the burners that leak gas, a main door oven that’s out of alignment and can’t be realigned as per service tech and a middle support piece that was missing screws and bent in. Called Viking and they are closed until January 2 which has ruined our Christmas and New Years plans. Then the 3rd party service company that does warranty work ** says the part will not be in until February yet the Viking rep I spoke to says all the ten parts are in stock but their company is closed until January 2nd. Customer service was nice and tried to get the parts expedited but failed to tell me that the 3rd party service provider needed to put the order in before 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 20 because they closed the warehouse on Dec 21st.We just tried to bake biscuits in what is supposed to be the only working part, the oven in plain old bake mode. The top heating element comes on which burned the biscuits. The user manual shows that only the bottom element is supposed to come on. Extremely disappointed in this product and I just want to throw it in the trash as that is where it belongs. Something that costs $13,419 before tax should not have these rudimentary quality control issues. The Viking employees that built this trash should be ashamed of themselves! I can get a better quality product from the Big Box stores for a fraction of the cost.

Viking Refrigerators is the best range that’s out there. I purchased from them because I chose products that are going to match my kitchen. However, I haven’t used the refrigerator because I’ve had some considerable problems with it. It’s not been fixed yet. It was shipped from a distributor in New York and apparently it wasn’t configured for altitude despite telling them that I live in Denver. It’s plugged in and running, but I have pools of water in vegetable drawers and there is a ticking noise that’s happening with it. It’s that bad. It’s been this way for six weeks, so I am not overly happy with that, especially not after paying $4,000 for a refrigerator. When I called Viking, they were as expected. They got the refrigerator repair company out. I’ve been working with the repairman and he’s been great. He has to order parts but there’s some feedback or manufacturer recall with the piece and so the repairman is waiting for a new piece now. He hasn’t been able to figure out whatever ticking noise there is, so it sounds like a time bomb in my kitchen. I’ve been talking to a lot of people but nobody has been able to fix my refrigerator. The dishwasher and range have not been installed yet, but the range came damaged. I don’t know if it’s the distributor or the shipping company. The range hasn’t been set up yet, but I can’t seem to find the legs that were supposed to come with it. But Viking has been pretty responsive. A lot of the issue lies with the distributor. I wish I had not given them $16,000 worth of business. They have not been helpful. There were supposed to be rebates, but they wouldn’t process. It was like pulling teeth to get them to give the discount when you buy multiple Viking products. It’s been a disaster with them. I could not recommend the product and the distributor. Why would a refrigerator that has a known defect still be sold in the market?

I used to be a restaurant owner so Ive always known what a great product Viking gives out. My daughter is a chef so shes heard of them, and we have some friends that have Viking. Everything was great. The Viking dealer was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The range is perfect and has excellent quality. It was sturdy, perfectly flamed, and keeps the temperature. All is very good, and its a stove that I only buy once in a lifetime. Everything I need as a cook is there, and I dont need to buy anything else.

A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it
A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it about five years ago. The refrigerator was built-in and custom-made for the area. And then, the freezer is separate from the actual refrigerator so its got two separate doors. Though very expensive, Viking is a good quality refrigerator. In the last couple of months however, all of a sudden, our refrigerators cooling was not being controlled by the digital display. Its not working even if we tried to actually increase the cooling. So, the technician came in and put in some gas as a refrigerant. And then, he told us to monitor it for another week and if everything will be fine, it’ll remain fine. If not, there’s apparently a small leak somewhere. And then he also told us what it would take to replace the refrigerator if needed or if the same refrigerator has to be replaced with the parts.

We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.

Weve had a couple of Viking Ranges before from friends and family and we decided to purchase with them once again. The new range I got from them has been excellent and I really like the wine rack that came with it.

We had a Thermador double-wall oven and a cooktop in the house we owned before and my husband and I liked the way they were set-up. When we bought our current house, we didn’t want the ovens in the wall and just the cooktop because it’s a smaller house. We decided we wanted a freestanding slide the stove in with an oven and cooktop. We liked the looks of the Viking Ranges. The handles were substantial and were very much like the Thermador which was the professional model. We bought the gas range in December of 2010, but we did not take delivery of it until the beginning of February of 2011 because we redid our kitchen. We have the range in service for almost seven years but then, we noticed that the bottom of the oven have grooves in it and they were all rusted. I called Viking and got Lakeside Service. I had them look at it and they agreed that it was rusting down in the grooves but they didn’t know the reason. They said it couldnt be repaired and felt that it would ultimately rust through. Somebody at Viking told me that probably it was because we dropped something. But we didnt and it would be very hard to drop something into these narrow grooves that were in the bottom. The oven was not mishandled or misused in any way. And for something that we paid almost $6,000, it should not have died or be defective within seven years.I called customer service ‘cause I was supposed to hear from someone within a couple of days but it was already more than that. I was patched through to Michelle and we worked out the details. Viking offered to pay about half on a new freestanding stove to slide in the spot and I paid a little bit more than half the installation fee. This time, we decided to go with an electric cooktop. We got it through Viking and their installer put it in. We noticed that this one sticks up but other than that, it’s good. However, I will never buy another Viking stove if this one does the same thing in the next seven years. At the cost of their product, I would expect it to last longer than that. Also, their 90-day warranty was almost nonexistent particularly on the porcelain paint job on the oven. I am dissatisfied with it and yet I have another one, but that was the only way to get back anything that would fit in the opening. We weren’t sure if the other brands would fit and we knew that the new one we have would. But as far as their people are concerned, it was an okay experience.

I had a burner and the igniter went bad. Im having an issue with my oven door right now. Its not even. Something is wrong with it. The quality is not what I thought it was. Compared to the price I pay, I expect to not have a technician come to my house for five years. I could have gone to Home Depot and probably did better. I need to contact the service people of Viking or try to get them out here to see whats going on.
