Viking Range Repairs

If you're looking for help fixing your Viking Range, look no further! Our comprehensive Viking Range repair guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and maybe show you how to repair your appliance.

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Viking manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Viking appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

The Oven Won't Turn On
Your Viking oven won't heat up if it won't even turn on. Whether you have a gas or electric oven, the first step to troubleshoot an oven that won't turn on is to check the breaker box. A power surge, for example, may cause the circuit breaker switch to trip by moving it to the "off" position. When you check the switch that corresponds to your oven, make sure it's in the "on" position and also make sure that your oven is plugged into a 220- to 240-volt outlet to ensure it has an adequate power supply.

The Oven Doesn't Cook Evenly
The bake and broil elements may not be conducting heat as they should. Turn on the broiler and see if the element at the top of your oven is glowing with an even red color. Turn off the broiler and set the oven to a bake setting; check to see if the element at the bottom of your oven has a consistent red color. If you see any breaks in the red color from either element, the faulty element needs to be replaced.

The Oven Door Won't Close
It may be time to replace the door hinge if the oven door doesn't close properly. You may also want to check and see if the oven racks are correctly installed. If you recently moved one of the racks to a different position in the oven to make room for a large roasting pan, for example, the rack may be resting incorrectly on the sidewalls and obstructing the oven door from tightly closing.

The Oven Won't Self-Clean
The self-clean cycle on a Viking oven cannot begin until the door is securely locked. If you're having trouble locking the door, the door switch or the lock itself may be faulty. A burned wire or failed timer may also be the culprit.

he Light Isn't Working
An obvious and easy fix for a light not working in your Viking oven is simply that you need to replace a bad lightbulb. Be sure to use an appliance bulb of proper wattage, according to the recommendation in your user manual. If that doesn't fix the problem, an oven technician will check some electrical issues, including the light switch, the tumbler switch or the control board. Unless you're a certified electrician, calling in an expert is the safest way to diagnose and repair any electrical issues.

If you have invested in a Viking Oven or Range - you know that it is just that - an INVESTMENT. Or at least it is supposed to be. A $7,000 oven should not have any issues, not at 1 year or even at 5 years, frankly, with nothing but normal domestic use. I understand that the warranty is expired - and we didnt expect a completely free solution. Admittedly, I am severely disappointed that a name like this doesnt stand behind the product for ten years! Our expectation was that the company could at least have a certified service technician it recommends - at a reasonable Viking supported rate. Not referring us to a technician that costs $200 JUST to come out and look at the oven - not even DO anything!? They are viking certified and cant tell over the phone if there is any common problems - of course - it will be $200 to come out for what will probably take 10 minutes. Then there will be the time to order a part and then come back out at $50 per 30 minutes for labor. The reason we spend more up front on quality is to not have these issues. Its a shame that as I look online I see this Name is now riding on a reputation they no longer uphold. I see countless complaints about quality - and Viking is no different than ikea as far as standing by a product. Shameful.

I own a 6 year old Viking Double Oven. It’s bad enough Viking wouldnt stand behind a heating unit but worse, we missed the complete Christmas season (our oven died Dec 17) using the oven because Viking didnt have parts in stock to repair the element in the oven. I will miss this Easter as well since the parts wont be in by then. As a cook this is unacceptable to me and Viking’s potential customers should be aware of this. It will have been 4 months for me to receive a new ribbon element with glass part # 013930-000 IF I get it by April. I think Viking potential customers should be aware of the lack of customer service in parts with Viking. Also Viking customer service didnt seem to care about my issue and basically had the too bad for you attitude. We have a 6 burner Viking range top and a Viking double oven in a top end house. If this is Vikings idea of customer service for premium clients I will take my purchases elsewhere in the future. Buyers beware.

I have known about Viking Ranges growing up. Seeing them in houses, I’ve been really impressed with how they look. I’ve always wanted a Viking range and I did not know they also had a free-standing fridge that was huge. But, the free dishwasher was the main thing as to why I went with them over other companies. The Viking guy had to come up because we are at a different elevation, so he had to do something. When you turn it on underneath, it takes a little while to light up and I didn’t even notice that but he noticed it. Nevertheless, it looks beautiful and everything that we’ve put in it has been awesome so far. Also, the rep I dealt with was great. I knew what I wanted so she didn’t have to do too much. However, as soon as the first range was delivered, it was all banged up. The lady had it exchanged out within a week and really helped me out with those little things.

Viking delivered an damaged range, door, control panel and vent. Took from June 19 until now July 25 and still refused to take back damage product. Was told Not their policy. They dont take back damaged, they send repair parts. Delivered a double door refrigerator which was also damaged. Basically they sell scratch and dents for full value and expect consumer to be satisfied. Their customer service representative was about as rude as you can get. The company will never be recommended by me and I will make it a point to tell everyone I know that they should NEVER consider a Viking appliance!!

Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

I paid for a professional install from Ben Franklin Plumbing literally 2 days before my daughters first communion. That morning I had emergency oral surgery. I came home, oven was installed and working well. I asked Ben Franklin guy why the door were not aligned, handles not perfectly aligned, right door sticking out a bit. I asked 2 of my neighbors that were quite handy if they could adjust them both. Smart enough to say that would violate warranty.

We moved into a brand new home about four weeks ago and I think I was most excited about the Viking range. Wed worked really hard for this house and Id always viewed Viking as top drawer. What a disappointment its been. Since the day we moved in, it hasnt worked and multiple visits by Viking repair people still havent helped. Were about a hot minute from replacing it. The salesperson at our Best Buy who weve come to trust tells us that Thermador is a much better buy. So the morale to the story is buyer beware: go with quality even when it might not have the name quotient.

We moved into a new house and we got an upgraded stove from the builder’s stove and it was falling apart. The knobs were falling off and one couldn’t control the height of the flame so that got me looking for another stove. My wife’s sister purchased a Viking Range a couple of months ago and I also decided to buy one. We had some problems about purchasing in the beginning but it all worked out. My wife loves our 36-inch Viking Range. I feel good that it’s in the house and it gives some class to the kitchen. I would recommend Viking Ranges.

I was doing a lot of online searching for various appliances, ranges in general. The one that I had was on its way out and I was looking for something different. Viking came up a few times and thats how I found out about them. Here in Canada, theyre not called Viking. Theyre called Brigade which confused me at first. They have a high quality range but at that one point, the price was a little higher than I could afford. However, it came at a price that I could justify and it was a good price. Its a solid machine and I dont go in for any of the bells and whistles, so to speak. I want something thats going to cook.I knew what I wanted more or less when I went in their store and had a couple of questions. Also, I would have liked to have been able to actually see the range before I purchased it but the only thing they had for a floor model was the gas style. Unfortunately, I dont have that option where I live so the sales rep showed me the gas range. Im very happy with the product. I love it and so far, the features that I use have been very good. The elements are quick to heat up and the oven cycles well. I really like the 12-inch element in the center of the stovetop because I have a lot of larger pans. One in particular is a paella pan and its not something you can do off to the side. So its got a good size and because of that, its the first time that I actually made a paella in about 14 years. I had this pan just in hold for a stove like this. I also like the convection features on it.

My Viking range is new and one of the burners sometimes just continuously clicks. Plus, one of the lights isnt even in the thing that shines down on the knobs. I got a Viking dishwasher with it six months ago and I already replaced that. We got rid of it as it had some sensor error and we were disappointed with our experience. I talked to Viking about it but I havent called about the oven yet. I got to have them put the light in on the knob as theres a hole where theres a gap where that might go. But the guys that came out and installed it did a very good job. Still, sometimes when you walk by, you smell a little bit of propane. My house is big so you dont really notice it, per se, but I noticed it. Then, they didnt level it right. When you deal with Viking, you got to go back to the shipper. Their customer service is all right though it seems like their service doesnt cover a lot of things. When the dishwasher went out, they said it was the sensor and must have been a problem with the install. Then pretty much, they told me that I got to go back to the installer. So then I dealt with them and they said it was dented by Viking. So, I went back and forth and nobody got me a dishwasher.

We wanted six burners for any time that we would host the family party so a lot of thought went in for this particular range and hood. My husband made the choices and it had to be electric for the self-cleaning and gas for the cooking part. The reps were knowledgeable and they told us what was available and what we could get. My husband had one picked out and when we found out it was not self-cleaning, the rep steered us in another direction. Now were very happy with the Viking range. Were enjoying how evenly it cooks and I like how the racks slide out. We also have the Viking hood and its been working very well. Its a little noisy sometimes if we dont turn it up all the way so we have to talk to the builder and see if they installed that properly. We hosted Thanksgiving where we had 18 people over, and we pulled it off and everybody was pleased. It was the most beautiful turkey we ever pulled out of the oven! It was so evenly brown and it was just amazing. And all the food came out hot. We were able to boil water quicker than any of the other ranges that weve ever had. It also cleaned off easily by moving the racks off the top and wiping everything down. The range is so wide with those six burners, my husband and I werent bumping into each other when were side by side.

It took a month for us to figure out that there was something wrong with the stove and then realized that it wasnt closing properly and that the hinges are broken. I wanted to share a review of my Viking range because it was such a big investment. We purchased a gas sealed burner VGSC5304BBS range back in the fall of 2011. My wife loves to cook and she thought a Viking would last forever. She patiently waited over 10 years to buy her dream stove. Weve had nothing but problems with both the broiler and the bottom burners. Both burners have required constant repairs and the broiler still wont light on the convection setting. Weve had to replace the bottom oven pan because it had a broken weld and we replaced the convection fan cover because it was rubbing the fan.The stove looks nice and it definitely gives the impression of quality but its reliability is horrible. I filed a claim with the BBB but Viking refused to help me. Save your money and buy a different brand... any other brand. Also, it has been recalled twice for safety problems. Terrible investment at over $6k.

We switched it to Viking and Ive been really happy with it so far. But the back of the range has a cut-in, assuming that your gas feed comes on the left side. Our feed comes in on the right side so we had to slide the range out until we were able to move our gas feed to the left side. If it had probably cut out going across it and the air would cut out, that would have been much better than having a big cut-out only on one side.

We bought our Viking oven 4 1/2 years ago because I like to cook and wanted an oven that could stand up to that. Sadly, I have been very disappointed with the oven. From the beginning I noticed that the knobs on the front of the oven would get almost too hot to touch whenever I had the oven on over 400 degrees for a length of time. Two weeks ago the oven broke. We had to replace the DSI control panel at a cost of almost $700. The oven worked for one day and then broke again. Im now told I will have to wait 2 months for another DSI control panel to become available and I cant be certain that is even going to fix the problem. When I told the repairman I would never again buy a Viking, he said I should have bought a Wolf because he repairs about 10x as many Vikings as he does Wolf ovens. Wish I had known...

We own several high end Viking range products - a professional series wine cellar, a professional series steam/convection oven and a professional series microwave. We installed these in mid-2009 into a new home we built. All had several months of downtime on more than one occasion, while parts were on order. First, the trim kits on the stacked microwave and steam oven did not and still do not match, very noticeable difference that 3 subsequent replacements never addressed (we were copied on an email form the regional manager that the Swiss sourced steam oven never matched, but no one gave a rats **). The compressor on the $7,500 wine cellar failed (2-3 months waiting for parts), then the motherboard on the steam oven failed (3 months), then the control panel on the microwave (3 months). Now the microwave does not work again. The steam oven failed a 2nd time. Does it ever get any worse? You bet. The servicing company hates dealing with Viking. They are put on hold for 30-40 minutes constantly and advised us to never ever buy another Viking range product. As I am also a CEO, I am absolutely appalled by the deplorable quality across the spectrum provided by this company. We also have Miele, Asko, SubZero and LaCanche products in our kitchen - all have performed flawlessly. Viking range should be avoided at all costs.

We bought a home that was completely renovated three and a half years ago and the decorator and contractor chose all Viking appliances for the home. We have a wine refrigerator, regular refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, wall oven, range with a small oven, big oven, hood and stovetop. We have had a couple of issues with the big refrigerator we have. The first time, the meat or vegetable drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator section froze and ruined the vegetables, and we had someone out a couple of times to look at it. Finally, they said there was nothing they could do to fix it, so we increased the temperature for the overall refrigerator. It’s keeping the vegetables from freezing but the refrigerator is not at the suggested temperature. Also, the hinge on the bottom right of the refrigerator has gone bad and the door squeaks when it opens and closes. But I like having separate drawers. It’s a great idea as long as it works the way it’s supposed to. Over the past week, we spoke with a gal named Veronica in customer service and she was great. We would have been normally forwarded to the warranty department but they were closed, so Veronica took the initiative to go to her supervisor and we were well-taken care of. That’s why we would buy another Viking appliance. I didn’t think the squeaking would be a big deal to fix but they have to put a whole new hinge and it costs $800. Viking is coming to fix it and they’ve been great about it ‘cause we’re just outside the warranty time. Everybody at Viking has been very good so I don’t mind if things go wrong if the company takes care of it. They haven’t come to fix the refrigerator yet, but Viking is doing a great job at taking care of the customer and that’s the most important.

I’ve owned three Viking Ranges before and it’s less expensive than a Wolf. For the dollar, the qualitys okay. I would probably have a different type of seal around the burner, a different oxider paint on the grating on the top, a more commercial look or feel to it as well as the balance of internal oven temperature to change its quality. But I like that it’s got a good clean look from the front appearance and its ability to find different configurations on the top burner versus flat top versus grill.Right now, I’m waiting 16 days for a service from the dealer for fulfillment on it. The hinges on the oven door are not working properly. They’ve passed me off to a secondary person, which is from elite to American which is their repair install group. Also, the first Viking fridge that I bought did not hit temp ever and it took over a week to get back up. I also bought a Viking refrigerator drawer set that as full and brand new box set, and it broke down, and they would not repair it. It was too expensive for the warranty to work, so they wanted to credit me back my money. It was a poor experience with their dealer.

My husband and I purchased a BRAND NEW Viking VDOF730 professional series double wall ovens with the french door. It was installed on December 21st 2015. It worked beautifully for 10 days. The bottom oven stopped working on December 31st 2015. Turning the bottom broiler or convection on and the oven still doesnt get over 150F. When I finally got through to Viking customer service this morning after a 30 minute wait on hold, they authorized appliance service to come out and fix it on Wednesday, the day after we can no longer return the product. Let us hope that it keeps working afterwards.Updated on 03/10/2016: I first posted in the beginning of January 2016 regarding brand new french door stainless steel double wall ovens. It took several days for a serviceman to come out and verify that indeed the bottom ovens are not working. He ordered the replacement relay board and bottom element that day. Then the service department did not know when the replacement parts would ship. After almost a month of daily telephone calls to the customer service and to Pacific Sales, Viking finally agreed to replace the whole unit. The second unit was going to be sent to another city as there was an error on geography. Another two weeks pass. The replacement was damaged -- enamel cracked and scuffed off, oven webbing ripped, spiral machine marks on the racks and off-center doors. They were notified and we were told another new oven would be sent out. This time, 11 different signatures were on the inspection paperwork and it was installed. Then the installer damaged the doors. A different service is finally sent out -- without the french doors, or bottom hinges as the bottom oven is not closing properly. But it is okay to cook with -- so I am told.Within 2 days of it being installed, the ovens are running hot. You set it for 325 and it goes to 450. I am greatly annoyed. Yesterday, we are not notified that the service guy would be here to replace the inside of the french doors and the bottom oven hinges -- on a brand new oven. It was a fluke that he pulled up as I was coming home. He installed everything but still doesnt like the replacement hinges. I am giving it another try for a month; otherwise, goodbye Viking ovens. The gas cooktop appears to work fine although our downdraft pulls the flame out. I would NOT purchase their products again.

I had one gas stove and I wanted something that was a quality electric. Originally, I was gonna go with a Frigidaire and I knew they have ones that have a dual oven and maybe even a little pizza oven. But when I saw what Viking had to offer and the kind of deal I was getting, I went out of my original price range and got the quality product. I knew the quality and the reputation that they had. I also liked the features and the style. But when I looked at the unit, it didnt look like the door was squared up. So I called it in to have them come out and adjust the door. I almost hated to do that but Viking is the Mercedes of ovens. I spent that kind of money and I expected everything to fit right and be squared up. When the technician came out, he took pictures of it, documented it and figured out what the problem was. It wasnt the door. It was the bezel, which he ordered. But he had also tried to see if there were ways that he could fix it without having to do it, but he couldnt. Then he came back another time but they had sent the wrong bezel. It didn’t fit because it didn’t have the right number of holes for the knobs. So he’s gonna come back out again and it will eventually get fixed. Its taking a little while but thats okay. It took a little while to get the oven built in the first place too. I was on the waiting list with the manufacturer first and then with the company I bought it from. I also got free shipping, which meant that the range took weeks to get here but that was okay. Besides, the company is backing up their product and Ive got a lot of respect for the company so far. If they keep the guy coming out here until the unit gets fixed, there wont be any problems. So far, I am happy. The range is very impressive. The idea is that this is not gonna be a throwaway one. The other one that came with the house was 17 years old and it hit the trash can. But hopefully, this one will last for many years and it’s one that’s worth repairing if something goes wrong. I also got a backsplash and a Viking dishwasher, and a friend of mine took a picture of the setup. He got a bunch of likes on Facebook.

Before we purchased a range from Viking Ranges, my husband knew about the product and liked it. It was due to the companys name and because we liked the look of their product, that we went with them. We got the fridge, the oven, and the range. The range that we got is good. We havent had any issues yet with it. Weve just started using it about a month ago because we have just moved into the house which was previously under construction. For the last month, the range has been working fine. However, I surely wont ever buy a Viking product again because Ive tried to get through to Customer Service to tell them that I have a problem with my fridge, was on the phone for 40 minutes, and spoke to five different people, but I never got anywhere. So, Im not happy with Viking. Moreover, nobody in the area where we live in Toledo, Ohio, which is not a small city, will service and fix Viking products because of the experience that theyve had with the company. So, I have to go an hour away to get somebody to come in.

We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I dont know if that’s in the materials because it’s sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people. Also, there was a problem with the ranges starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesn’t match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I don’t think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.

Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.

I love the quality of Viking Ranges. My husband had a restaurant before so we had some of their products. We picked it because there’s no electronic stuff. It’s very simple. We tried different stoves and they have electronic components in them and they went bad quickly. On the last one we had, the little plastic with all the stuff that they have where they push the button burned. So, we got fed up with it. Our favorite feature so far with our Viking is the burners. You can put four pots and pans, big ones at a time, and have enough space to cook without having to move anything. Also, the lady who helped us at the dealer was super nice. Not only did she know what she was talking about when we asked for stuff, she showed us a couple of them. Viking is worth the money that youre spending on it.

I do a lot of work in Buckhead and different areas seem to have a Viking equipment. It’s something that I liked, the looks and the quality, so I pursued it on my own and bought the equipment. Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. I got a good feedback on it so it’s a great and nice looking product with the exception of just a few hiccups. My favorite feature is the dual-fuel oven. Overall, I’m happy with the product and my wife is enjoying it. My brother’s purchasing an equipment too so I’ll surely get him into it as well.

The fridge, I like the ice maker on the door more than the inside of the freezer ‘cause every time I open up the freezer, it always falls down. I also don’t like the stove. The products are constantly falling apart and expensive to repair. The fridge shelves and drawers have cracked numerous times and are now taped with duct tape as the replacements are too expensive to keep replacing! The stove elements are no longer working so in process of finding repairs. Not hopeful. Very disappointed with the product line.

Viking 36 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Do Not Buy!!! My refrigerator was installed 5 weeks ago and for the past 3 weeks the control panel will go blank and it stops cooling in freezer and refrigerator. Randomly starts cooling again then same thing happens. Called Viking who referred to their Orange county repair service which took a week to get out and be told it didnt have a dedicated fuse. Well we had our electrician come right out and yes the refrigerator does have a dedicated fuse drawing the proper amps. Called Viking service company and sent pictures of electricians readings and was told they would speak to Viking. Didnt hear back, another phone call and girl I sent pics to is gone until Monday... Viking is closed and I still have a non-working refrigerator. Horrible service, horrible product.

We purchased a Viking Range and Microwave 5 years ago and we believed it would be a wise choice but it was anything but. The quality was poor. The oven door never closed right and the oven light stayed on all the time. And after many complaints we finally had to have service to change the hinges that never worked right. The bill for that was $600 and the electric oven takes way too long to heat up and the thermostat had to be changed twice. The microwave just failed and that is costing $400 to fix. I will never recommend Viking or the dealer Pacific Sales in So Cal to anyone, dont waste your money on Viking. They are not the company of the past and the quality and durability is no longer there, as for Pacific Sales after they take your money they are no longer interested in satisfying their customers needs. Frankly they suck at service and stand behind what they sell...

The range wasnt holding the right temperature and it had to do with a computer glitch within the motherboard. So I called up Viking, and with the warranty, they sent someone within the week, and he fixed it, and I havent had a problem since. Everything in general is very high-quality made. The people at the Viking dealer at P.C. Richard were knowledgeable and overall, it was an excellent experience.

I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. In general, I’m super disappointed in the fact that it’s 10 grand on a package and I’m not happy with any of the units.

Our order, which was installed in Dec. 2016, included a 7 series propane cook top, 5 series oven, 3 series upgrade dish washer, 48 side by side refrigerator, and 950 cfm downdraft vent system. The washer has been the most disappointing appliance of the lot. It has less capacity inside than our previous Kenmore washer and weve had to replace the racks due to a binding problem. There is also an intermittent problem with the control panel on the washer. On the cook top, the small burner does not light reliably and the design of the cook top makes cleanup a real chore after every use. The performance of the cook top, oven, and refrigerator is great other than the problems mentioned.

Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. I am currently waiting for the fourth service call on the refrigerator. There is only one warranty repair service company in my area and I have to wait at least 2 weeks to get service. The dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and 6 burner dual fuel range are not worth the money I spent. I would absolutely not recommend Viking appliances to anyone. We recently built a new house and purchased a Viking range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and wine refrigerator. In a short amount of time, we have had the refrigerator repaired four times - all involving issues with the ice maker and water dispenser. The dishwasher still works but the button that lights up when you push start does not. Apparently, that costs a couple of hundred dollars to repair. The wine refrigerator needed a new thermostat - that was a $400 repair. So far, we have not had any issues with the range or microwave. A Viking representative came out and repaired the refrigerator free of charge, but the other items were out of warranty (only 15 months old!). I have emailed customer support several times, but to no avail. I am a very, very unhappy and dissatisfied customer.

And then I built another house down here in Palm Springs and filled it with Viking stuff too. The representatives at the Viking dealer were the best. Ive never seen any appliance company operate like they do. My Viking ranges quality is top notch. I like the different things I can do with it - bake, bake convection, convection. I also like the ease where I can control the flames on the stove top. Its a new generation and the flame goes way down now. In the past, it wasnt as adjustable but its really good now.

As a profession, I have dealt with them professionally for hotels and restaurants. I knew the brand and the quality has been very good. However, I have issues with the dishwasher because it takes two hours to do what a normal one does. Also, the keyboard is not customer-friendly. Id love to jump on this band wagon right about now. Im most specifically upset about the oven ignitors needing replacement, as they say, every 3-5 years. I can read about it anywhere now, but I wasnt told anything about ignitors needing replacement when I bought it. Our repair bill was about $500 to change out the bad parts. I feel lucky, I think ours have been done only twice and then now, so 3 times in 10 years. Our oven hasnt been in working order for about 4 months while in my very limited spare time, I tried to figure out what ignitors will work, and be as good as the genuine Viking ignitors. My husband will soon be attempting to make the repair when the cheaper, similar Maytag ignitors arrive. He is so mad about the ignitor situation that he wouldnt allow us to call for the oh so expensive repairman to fix them. As he was assessing the ignitors/why the oven wasnt heating again, he took out the bottom pan of the oven and it fell apart into 2 pieces, with some partially melted insulation in between the two pieces of metal. Viking insists we need to buy a new bottom pan rather than my husband simply repairing that. It is $281. I will now be frantically try to find some of that insulation so my husband can spot weld the pan back together. Its weird stuff. I might try a fireplace shop. Thanksgiving dinner may be pretty sad this year. I would think for a $5,000 appliance that the manufacturer could help out their consumers.Yes, we could afford the expensive repair if we had to, but we spent that ridiculous amount of money on the Viking, that its a matter of principle. It should work for that amount of money. When we did our do-it-yourself major kitchen remodel in 2003 the Viking was the gem to us. Stainless steel with Brass accents. Most all of the finish on the brass accents has deteriorated from, well I dont know, heat or cleaning supplies, I guess. That part may be a poor choice on my part. I know the salesman did mention that, but it really was pretty at first. We still have the 1950s Magic Chef stove that came with our home in the basemen. I guess Ill have the hubby fire that up, if all else fails. During this 4 months of being without a working oven, I have been using a variety of other small appliances. I will keep doing that even after the Viking is repaired to save the wear and tear on it. I have been using a counter top Jet Stream Oven, a Pizzazz rotating pizza oven, and some outdoor grilling. Id like to maybe be able to use the Viking oven to bake some Christmas cookies and roast a chicken now and then. Thanks for letting me vent, I feel better, not really.

When I walked into the showroom, the people were nice and I liked them. I went with Viking ranges because of the quality of the product and we like it a lot. We have the whole set -- the range, the refrigerator, the under cabinet microwave, dishwasher. All of it is easy to clean and they work well. The Viking dealer, Judys Appliance, was also good. The only comment I have is I have a couple issues with my refrigerator. They came out and fixed it. But with the range itself, the one time I needed a service, it was supposed to have a five-year warranty on the burners, the one part was not covered under the warranty. We liked the look of the Viking Ranges. We also liked the multiple burners and the size of the double oven. We knew what we wanted as we shopped, and we picked Viking out. Weve had a couple of problems, though, but it is covered by warranty because we built the house. We had to have it completely replaced once, because the main oven door wouldnt close and seal. The original dealer stopped carrying Viking, so we ended up having to get the replacement from another dealer. Because it was an all-new construction, the builder handled finding the other dealer, and he contacted them. They quoted all the same appliances and everything was smooth. The pricing wasn’t any different. It was just a matter of waiting for construction completion, and everything was here when we moved in. It didnt hold up construction. With the replacement, though, the two oven doors dont align. There’s an uneven gap, so it looks like somethings crooked. But theyre coming next week to try to get that fixed. Were hoping that its some adjustment that they can make and not another problem. Another thing is that it has all large burners. Theres nothing smaller for just a small pot to simmer something, so I’m always dealing with a larger wider diameter pot. But it’s a nice product, so far. Theyve been accommodating with the issues that weve had, so I would recommend it.

I like that the refrigerator makes ice pretty fast because I like to drink something cold. It also has a separate compartment for different sizes like for fruits and vegetables. I also like that I can take everything off to wash it. It’s very easy to clean. But then when we called because the fridges icemaker was not making ice, I haven’t heard back anything yet. I got it from one of the distribution partners so the date might not be within the warranty. In the end, we read out on my manual and tried to defrost everything and now it works. We were looking for a counter depth refrigerator, and the Viking refrigerator was one of the few ones that we liked. It works really well and we like its design. It gets the food really cold. I like the lighting there and the construction of it. However, the dealer we bought it from was horrible. I bought from the dealer Viking appliances including a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and a microwave. When they first brought the refrigerator over, they didn’t have a truck that has a ramp to take it off from the truck. What they ended up doing was they had to open up the fridge in the truck, had to lay it on its side, and slid it on the floor. They had three people struggling, carrying it into the house without its box. I was to the point of just livid. Fortunately, they didn’t scratch anything because I was standing there right next to them making sure nothing happened. I could have picked a better dealer despite them giving me free installation.I have a printout of the fridge so that we know where to put the electrical outlet as well as the water outlet. But in the case of the range, there wasn’t really a cutout. All we knew was that it has a 30-inch width so when it arrived, it couldn’t fit into the wall because the gas outlet in the wall was right in the middle. We remodeled the entire kitchen and nobody explained it to me when I was in the showroom that we could have reconfigured everything to make sure that the appliances actually fit there. Also in the dishwasher, there was a piece at the bottom that keeps falling off. Its kinda weird and I’m not sure what to do with it. However, the appliances were great, overall. I’m very satisfied with the Viking brand. It looks great. I have people come by and everybody’s awed by the overall look of it. It’s just beautiful.

I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

We went with Viking because it was highly recommended but the doors of the range we got were off and they would stick out to one side. The quality was horrible. They brought me another one and I told the guys to make sure that the unit is okay before they remove the one that I had. When they opened it, the guy said it’s worse than what I got. They took it back and brought me a different one. The one I ordered was a Series 5 and when the man came from Viking, he looked at them and said he was gonna move me up to a Series 7. It still had a little bit of a problem but their guys came and removed the bottom plate and kind of played with it. Now, it works perfectly. It took about a year until I finally got the one that I presently have. I had to go and buy an induction hotplate. Whoever is putting these things together, their quality control people are not doing a very good job. The range is wonderful but the experience was terrible. After paying so much money for a range and then have to deal with so much drama with it, I wouldn’t do it again. My son is building a new house and I told him to not get into a Viking stove.

The installers didnt convert my unit from natural gas to propane. And that caused a lot of problems for us and the oven. The oven produced a lot of soot on the backsplash and that led to me calling about it. And then they discovered that it hasn’t been converted the right way. Though Viking did not install it, they ended up replacing the unit. Since then, its been just fine. My builder was involved in the negotiations to get a new one. I dont know how Viking responded to that request but I got a new one and I didnt pay for it. And before it came into my house, it has been converted. We like it, and it seems to be working. Im relatively pleased with the product itself.

The Viking ref matched nicely with our stove and I liked the way it looks. My experience in dealing with the store was good and we got a discount. We just had the ref’s three-year mark though and the alarm went off on it and it wasn’t refrigerating right. We called Viking and they were sending someone out in a week. But for some reason, the refrigerator just kicked back on and it was fine after a while. I’m concerned about the dependability of it, but, so far, the quality is good.

I like the efficiency and design of the Viking ranges burners up on the cooktop. Ive had two ranges over the years, and overall, the quality is good. Ive bought other ranges to try to save money, but they didnt measure up. So, when I was able to afford it, I bought my second Viking and I use it every day. And its wonderful. We just had a repair done under warranty to the current one that we have. It was an igniter, but it got totally handled for everything, and now its back in action. It took two weeks to get the part but the person who came to do the repair did a great job.

Nothing but disappointment. Self cleaning safety device broke immediately after we purchased it. Both hinges broke on the door almost burning my daughter as it fell to the floor burning hot. Repairs cost a fortune and side note... decals that show functions wore away after a year. If you love cooking like my family and want a quality stove steer away from Viking. Do some research before you spend $5,000.

Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesn’t have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didn’t do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasn’t going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People don’t generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.

Viking was already the brand we had in the kitchen. The refrigerator broke, so I replaced it with the same brand. I bought it through a third-party seller and the experience was poor. The product was delivered with a manufacturer defect. The doors had to be zip-tied up because the installation is difficult if the doors are moving about. After it was installed, my husband and I realized the doors dont close. What upset me about the third-party vendor was that they said that its our problem, not theirs, and left. But Viking immediately stepped in and sent help with their repair people around town. I have had to use them on two or three occasions once again, all from the defect of original product delivery. No issues that went wrong. They have been incredibly responsive. Its a brand that stands by its quality. On the other hand, they did let a fridge that doesnt have doors that close past inspection somehow, so thats also strange. But when they realized they messed up, they fixed it. The refrigerator is not the right size and its a loud machine, but it does the job and has lots of storage.

I’ve been in the restaurant business for so many years and Vikings name has been around. It’s quality product and all that good stuff. I’ve watched them over going to Best Buy and thought that one’s beautiful. My recent purchase was a single oven, microwave steam convection oven, all in one dishwasher, gas range and the refrigerator. So far so good but I kind of wish Viking offered a filtered water system through their refrigerators but they don’t. But it does make ice which is nice. I’d definitely recommend their product to a friend. But Viking is top of the line, top dollar. It’s not for the average consumer. I didn’t buy it to make my house value go up because what I’ve heard is all the high end kitchen equipment doesn’t really hold value because not everyone takes pleasure in that. But I wanted the best I can have and my choice was Viking.

I had heard about the Viking range at the culinary school, and I got one because I really liked its performance. Ive had my Viking range since November and its really good. I like the open burner and that it has the two ovens, and I love to work with the griddle. But it was actually pretty rough with the team at the Viking dealer where I purchased it. I bought it from the website and they dropped it off, but they didnt install it, and it was here lying in my kitchen without the feet for a few weeks. I was going back and forth with them on the phone, asking them to come and install it because its a heavy range and I couldnt install it myself or with my husband. I remember that I was preparing this huge dinner for Thanksgiving with my family and we just ended up going to my in-laws house. Finally, they installed my range in the first week of December, almost four weeks after it was delivered. Despite that bad experience with the delivery, however, I will surely recommend Viking. The experience I had with my Viking range was amazing. Everybody said theyre very impressed with my range, and I love it. I love to cook and bake in it.

Our Viking Adventure. In 2012 we started planning for a major remodel to our home, and part of this was gutting and updating the Kitchen. One of our choices for the kitchen update was an 8 burner (6+griddle) gas and electric range. We had always been Thermador and Sub Zero people having used these products with no issues in two previous homes for 25+ years.Viking had always had a big reputation in the range market so we decided to try one of their products and in early 2013 we purchased a new Viking range from Setzers Appliance in Ocala, FL along with other non-Viking major appliances. The range was installed in fall of 2013 by a professional installer, along with all the other appliances, at a charge of 250$ per appliance. Initially we were thrilled with the new toys but then the igniters on the range had to be replaced. This was covered under warranty. Then the doors started sagging and wouldnt seal. Viking tried to fix this on two occasions but the issues never did get resolved. Then the small oven wouldnt maintain temperature, often being off as much as 100 degrees. The range was still under warranty and they attempted to fix this... they got it close but it never did work reliably. There were several service calls over the next few years, all documented and covered by warranty covering mainly issues with the ovens not working properly. We also had a very... irresponsible and grouchy, shall we say? local service person in the Gainesville, FL area.In August of 2018 the small oven again started not maintaining temp by more than 100 degrees. We called our local service man and he gave us an appointment time a week from that day... which he missed. We called him after the no show and he said oops, I forgot.... be there by 1 tomorrow. He showed up, turned on the oven, borrowed a thermometer and said the bad news is you need a new control board and it is 600$. We told him to hold off until we contacted Viking and he took his check for the service call and headed down the road.We contacted Viking and the service rep said to have the tech email him the info on the range so he could see if Viking could do anything despite the range being out of warranty because of the extensive list of issues on the service history. We called the service tech and he said he was driving and would call back for the email address when he got back to his office. Never called. Called him a week later, again, driving... will call back when I can. Never called. This went on for almost 6 weeks before we contacted Viking again and laid it all out... he was very helpful and said, Send me all this in writing and I will see what I can do and try to find you another service tech. After a month or so it boiled down to sorry, nothing we can do including apparently the inability to even provide another service tech in all of north Florida. We are now pursuing getting the range repaired on our own and with a rather bad opinion of our 13,000.00 Viking range. It may be petty but I take some small pleasure in knowing for a fact that at least three other couples purchased products from other makers after hearing about our experience over the last few years. So, while I know there must be a reason for Vikings reputation over the years I and my wife are... less than impressed.

In fact, my whole kitchen set, which includes the range and microwave, is from Viking. I like my fridge a lot. It’s very nice and efficient. I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

We purchased a new Viking all refrigeration unit and it has been nothing but trouble. Ice forms on the back wall and around the fan unit. The fan started to make a terrible noise because it was hitting the ice. Hadco (the Viking rep in Florida) has sent repairmen a number of times, but the issue is still not solved. It appears to me to be an engineering problem as there is no positive seal when the door closes. This would allow humidity to build up inside the unit. We have used Sub Zero before, but the Viking unit appeared to be better designed - it is not. I am in the process of trying to arrange for a replacement refrigerator.

There was a Viking Range in the house that we just bought. It exhausted and we bought another Viking Range to replace it and its excellent. It did exactly what it advertises it does and you know its well. It looks good in our kitchen and it works. We have three young kids so for us whats important is the functionality and having no issues. As long as the burners go on and we could cook things and use the oven like we do every day, and as long as its high functioning thats great for us.However, Snyder Diamond did not do a good job of communicating with us. They quoted us a certain time frame where the range would be ready but it wasnt ready then. They had the company that they recommended install the range go pick it up at the factory wherever they were holding the stoves and it wasnt there yet. They miscommunicated so it took longer than it should have and it was Snyder Diamonds fault, not the people who installed it. I thought they quoted me in when it will be installed by and then that was pushed by a weekend into the next week. Also, it was hard to get them on the phone or going through that process. I had an email back and forth with the guy from Snyder Diamond cause I was like, Can you give me a call? and he just wouldnt respond. And then I had to literally track him down. We needed the range and Ive never been frustrated and I dont understand why I cant get a callback about this. We were then about to spend $8,000 or $10,000 on this range and I deserved a callback in a timely way.It was top of the time because my wife was pregnant. We needed a stove for heating milk and everyday things, like for breakfast, and every day that passed was getting tenser for us. Its unfortunate for me that theyre the closest distributor of all these parts or products thats in my house now because Im trapped when it comes to dealing with them. On the other hand, the installers were excellent and they had their stuff together. They called me and they got to the bottom of it. They were problem solvers and Snyder Diamond was not.

Its unbelievable to me that a brand that cultivates a premium quality image, and commands (demands?) top prices from consumers, designs and builds such a shabby product. FIRST ISSUE: over the past couple of years, two plastic refrigerator door shelves developed cracks, and shattered like glass without warning, dropping the shelf contents all over my floor. These were not overloaded shelves. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING ISSUE: CHOOSE A PLASTIC THAT DOES NOT GET BRITTLE IN COLD TEMPERATURES.Incredibly, each time this has happened, Viking Parts Department charged me nearly $200 per replacement shelf (Really? For the price of this refrigerator you wont replace a defective part as a courtesy?); so far Ive spent $400 on replacement shelves and I have another shelf that now is developing new cracks so I guess Ill be paying another $200 for that replacement shelf soon. Or maybe I should just not use door shelves?? SECOND ISSUE: no matter how I set the refrigerator thermostat, the vent located above the top refrigerator shelf outputs freezing temperatures. So while my refrigerator thermostat is set currently to 43 degrees, anything located on the upper left refrigerator shelf (water pitcher, juice, milk, etc.) freezes solid. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING ISSUE.Ive experienced a lifetime of different refrigerator brands, from basic Frigidaire, GE to Subzero, all have worked as intended. Certainly never had to replace plastic shelves for my cheapo Frigidaire, and nothing freezes on the top shelf of that refrigerator. So I guess you got an additional $400 from me in replacement parts (soon to be another $200), but Ill never buy a Viking-branded appliance again (dont get me started on the Viking range issues Ive experienced).

We had a built-in grill when we moved into the house about 40 years ago. We then replaced that and got a 24-inch Viking grill. When we decided to get a new stove, we wanted to match it up. Previously we had an electric stove. We checked other things like BlueStar, but we liked the looks and the style of Viking so we selected it. Its great and the heat of the range is so much even and it works so much better. The temperature control is really nice and I like the one pullout rack which is really convenient. The product is also easy to clean. I lift up the racks on top of this each day and I can dust underneath there. You can take the ceramic tops or the steel tops off the burners as well. It’s really nice and so much better than electric. It also looks like a million bucks and will never go out of style. It always looks like a professional item and is classy looking too. Its the best there is. The installers did an excellent job and we had all the trim pieces. We inquired about getting a broiler from them but Viking doesnt make them anymore. I’m going to have to have some Viking products when we move. I was in the Fire Department before I retired and all the fire stations had Viking grills and gas stoves. There were about 8-burner stoves and that’s where I first saw them. They always worked well. I am thankful for Vikings good products and am appreciative of them. I’d highly recommend Viking.

However, I had a big issue when I first purchased the stove. I bought it from a store and they shipped it to the wrong place. They said that Viking had some issue then they said someone else had some issue. I was supposed to get it in November but I ended up getting it in January. I finally just called Best Buy and said I’m cancelling the order, then I placed a second order through AJ Madison which delivered it on time.I got the one with six open burners that deliver equivalent heat. So far, the stove has been great but I had two issues before with the stove. First, the oven conked out on me. I called Viking then the warranty people came over, looked at the oven, and fixed the spark igniter that was not working. The second issue was the ventilation hood and for whatever reason, the switch on it stopped working. So, the techs had to come in with a switch part. That took a little longer, though, since they said that they’re usually slow to get parts from Viking. I called them on a Monday and they were supposed to come on a Friday, but they said that they were two weeks out, so I waited a little bit. There is a strong gas smell and each time it got worse where my eyes watered. They know about this problem and still waiting for the 2nd repair company to resolve this.

Viking Ranges were at the store that we went to. We talked to a Viking rep and also to the salesman and our experience was very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable about the product. We got the six-burner range and we liked the size of the range and the burners. The quality is also very good. I like the convection oven because I’ve never had one. The range is everything we wanted it to be. It’s very easy to use and easy clean.

We had a Viking stove and my husband said he wanted them all the same, so we got a Viking refrigerator. The people at the dealership were awesome. We bought two dishwashers at the same time and the rep was really great. We just went back and bought our range from them. The refrigeration is good. Im not crazy about the drawer layout but it was the only one they had. The drawers aren’t deep enough for the vegetables and the fruits. They don’t have a lot of bottles to choose from. Also, they should have a water dispenser. Theyre not practically designed. But I don’t have to clean the coils and when you have four cats, it makes a difference that you don’t have to vacuum all those cat hair.

How can it be? We thought made in America, we would get great quality. What a disappointment. The kitchen was remodeled 5 years ago. This past month, we had problems with both Viking products, the Viking range VGIC3676BS and the refrigerator. We are now out of Viking warranty. The NSI insurance for these products is a nightmare to deal with - a waste of money. They give you the runaround. The Viking range oven just stopped working, we think it is the igniter. It does not matter that when you call Mississippi, they speak to you with their Southern charm, you still have an expensive appliance that simply does not work! No one cares, not at all, because it is not happening to them! The fact that we bought expensive products does not matter in todays world. Anyone recalls the days when we had an oven that lasted 30 years? We are so disgusted with Viking. We regret spending the money for something that obviously was made with planned obsolescence in mind. Wish there was a way we could warn people about this company. I would like to put signs on retailer stores, buyer beware.

I bought a Viking range and microwave a year ago thinking with the higher pricing, bought higher quality. After one week, the stove top range started falling apart. The numbers on all the dials began rubbing off. Very poor quality. If you just want the range to just look pretty, dont ever plan on actually cooking on it. After one year the microwave has died completely. Its true what others have said. Viking will not come out for repair. They dont care. They sent out a rep., Wuerstlins Appliance Services, Inc. which failed to successfully repair it. Im now calling them out for the third time and Ive been without a microwave in my upstairs kitchen for four months and counting. My walmart microwave in the basement 5 years later is still kicking strong. I recommend not even going down the aisle which displays a Viking product because its a total waste of time and money. Ultimately it Will let you down. I would give it 5 negative stars. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from Viking products.
