I currently have a Viking Refrigerator that is still under warranty but paid full price to have it repaired. Viking will only cover repairs performed by their authorized center, and that repair company is NOT trustworthy. Ive had to repair both our Viking convection oven and refrigerator in the past 7 years, whereas Our old (much less expensive) GE appliances are still working perfectly after 20 years. I will not be purchasing any Viking products again. Shame on Viking.

My Viking range is the second one Ive had and I really like it. It holds temperature well. Its a beautiful piece of equipment. Its the best center point of my kitchen. The one thing I dont like is that if any sort of dirt or debris gets on the pilot or the starter, it can be a bit finicky. Otherwise, I love it. Somebody came to look at that pilot because I thought it might have been broken. The technician came and it needed to be cleaned. That was a good positive experience. I had to talk back and forth with a customer service person regarding the warranty because I didnt have a receipt. I just had the serial numbers. But they’ve sorted it out. It was easy.

Viking Range came with the house and the person who renovated the house put it in. The quality is okay but its very expensive and it doesnt have a softening feature on its oven. I think the quality of the craftsmanship is very average for that type of product.

We were looking at the Wolf, and it was out of my price range. And the only reason I looked at the Wolf is because of its name in the industry. When we went to the store, the gentleman pointed out that its not necessarily the best product on the market. Its just got a following and a name. It was my first time purchasing a gas stove and he showed us the Viking. He told us a little bit about it and the features, and it had a model that they were actually discontinuing and it was a really good deal and we picked it up.Even our renovator who installed it said, This is a really good oven, because of the way it cleans. The grill of Wolf is tight so its harder to clean. With Viking its so easy to just pick up the grill and wipe it and its done. I love the product. You can really control the heat and Ive never cooked with gas before. I was reluctant, but its a lot more controlled in the heat in how you cook so I like it.The rep was also really good and knowledgeable and not pushy when I first went. He educated me on this. So check out the product because the Wolf and the Sub-zeros got its name in the industry and then everybody wants one, but they don’t realize that theres this other product that are just as competitive and has better price points that are equally or if not, better.

Weve had our Viking Refrigerator running for about a month and a half now and we love it. The dealer had an excellent display of the various Viking appliances that was really most helpful to us. We bought the double-door model and I really like it. Its working very well, has no issues, nice and quiet, all the compartments are useful, and its pretty. We love the way its lined up and I love the freezer on the bottom because that means my head doesnt bump at the handle if the freezer was on top.

The delivery was good. CG Appliances did a really good job. They were able to get it installed pretty easily while we were doing the remodel. So it looks nicer. But the broiler went out. I contacted Viking and then the day before they were supposed to come out, the broiler started working again. I like the range and the fact that theres a lot of power on the front burners. But its a pain to clean.

I love my range from Viking. Its beautiful, the way it works is very simple, and its not electronic. The knob came off right away, though. But, Im not gonna hassle with that because its not that easy. It slipped into my counter and Im not gonna pay someone because it keeps coming off. Also, the private place I bought the range from was not that great. They didnt advise me properly that with the microwave above the range, the heat from the range would eventually get the microwave digital reading to fail. The hood is inside the microwave and now, Im having trouble with it. But Im not gonna replace it with the same thing. So then, I would have to get a whole new configuration. Nevertheless, I would suggest my range to anyone. Ive already told a friend about it and my friend bought the same one.

Ive known about Viking for years. Ive had Sub-Zero for years, but we just replaced it with the Viking. I liked the quality of the Viking refrigerator I received. It’s a side-by-side refrigerator. However, there’s one thing I don’t like and that is there are no shelves on the freezer side of the door. There are shelves on the door on the top, but just not on the bottom. I’m used to the Sub-Zero having the shelving all the way down on the door.

When we bought our house, it was furnished with brand new Viking professional series appliances. We have lived in our (new) house for 6+ yrs. Over that time period, the fridge has given us non-stop problems. The $8K+ fridge is inferior in performance to any standard appliance you could pick up at Lowes or Home Depot for a fraction of the price. Issues: Was subject to a recall - took 4+ mos to get recall parts delivered for a recall associated with a major safety issue (heavy fridge doors literally falling off the hinges and hurting kids... not some minor issue); Freezer stopped working. Have had 3 different Viking certified contractors come out to service it and it still doesnt work. Weve paid over $1K in fixes - none of which have actually worked.Entire fridge stopped working. May be the motherboard. May be the compressor. Will take months to get the part in and replaced. The compressor is under warranty but Viking will charge us $150 to ship the covered part back to them if its not in fact why the damn thing isnt working. In total, were looking at a minimum of 2+ mos to get it fixed. This is not the 3rd world, but if you have Viking appliances youd be forgiven for thinking it given how youre forced to survive for months without a working fridge. We have a mini fridge and wine coolers we are storing our groceries in... because our $8+ thousand dollar fridge doesnt work and cant get repaired in any kind of reasonable time frame with Vikings stipulations about who can and cant work on it w/o voiding the product warranty. All of our neighbors with Viking appliances have had THE SAME ISSUE. All of the certified techs will privately tell you Viking sucks. Their customer service is atrocious. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON VIKING. After reading very similar reviews, I cant for the life of me figure out how they are still in business.

The Viking range is a little bit different to cook on than a regular range. Things seem to get hotter faster. It’s not that it’s a bad thing. Its just a little bit of a learning curve. I have a little bit of a concern as to how to clean this oven since it’s not a self-cleaning oven. Also, the fan in this range is extremely loud. After I use the oven, it is on for a good hour after I turn the oven off. I had a guy out here and he told me that thats just the way they are. Still, someone should have mentioned that before I bought that big ticket item. But the quality is fine.

I was looking for higher end appliances, so we decided to go with Viking and have had nothing but problems. The refrigerators doors had a crack in it. The doors were not aligned. The freezer is always kind of opening and not sealing properly. Its a bit noisy. Then there was indenting, and this is the second time it happened in the fridge. I dont know why. I realized I have an extended 10-year warranty with PC Richard so I had the guy come out again, and he said he had to order a bunch of parts, and he placed the order. I hope that is being handled. As far as my range, its horrible. Im always having trouble. It is a very high-end stove that the burners half the time arent working. Its not holding the proper temperature inside. I feel like its a limit. I would put it on 400 but it only went to 300. Viking replaced the burners a couple of times. They come and fix it, but it reoccurs. Theres something wrong with the actual range itself. And then, when I called Viking because of everything that happened to have it serviced again because they canceled my last service due to the COVID, they told me Im out of warranty now. But its the same problem Ive been having since I got the range. Ive called in again but nobody has gotten back to me. They were supposed to push it up to management. I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding whats going on.

The range that I got from Viking is not very different from the one I had that was 20 years old. It had fewer features though. I used to have a separate grill and a separate griddle. They consolidated them into one area with a pan that flips over and its not quite the same. But the burners are nicer and it’s easier to clean. The top of the stove looks great and the lights are a nice accent. But after that, I had problems. Ive had to call repair services out here three times, so far. They eventually got them fixed. But its strange. I buy a $500 stove that lasted me 10 years and I had no problems. I buy a $15,000 range and within two or three months of owning it, I have to call to get repairs made. It was not what I was expecting. I regret, a little bit, buying the range. I was banking on the American made name and Viking has a long history, but Middleby has purchased them, seeing there have been some changes in quality and how it was working. And the new range manifested this very same issue as the 20-year-old one I replaced started to have towards the end of its lifecycle. So that was unfortunate. Probably, had I done it again, I would have bought a Wolf or some other range instead.

However, Ive had three problems with the range already and we havent even had it installed for three months. Ive got parts on order for about six weeks now. Besides finding out that their side-by-side refrigerator is the biggest disappointment in home appliances, I found out that their customer service is the same! I had some warranty repairs done by Vikings preferred service provider and during the work, they installed an upgrade kit for the refrigerator. Months went by and we would occasionally see water under the unit. Our warranty was up so we had a different service provider come over to estimate what was wrong, a service provider we found out later that Viking had put on their list of preferred repairers. The service person found that while the unit was under warranty and the upgrade was installed, the wiring was preformed incorrectly causing the refrigerator to leak water underneath, damaging the wood flooring in the house. I called Viking on the subject and they first told me that they would not cover the faulty workmanship so I complained that it was their provider that I had used. They gave me a case number and told me that they had 24 hours to research the case and they would call me back. They did not call back and the case was left unsolved. The Viking company does one thing very well, disappoint their customers! This is not the first time that I have had the experience of poor service from Viking. Buyer beware.

I like the design, quality, size and features of Viking. The delivery of the refrigerator went well. I had it delivered in March, and been using it fine. But it wasnt until about three weeks ago, I had some renovating and remodeling. I had the plumbers come out and they connected the water line to the fridge so it can make ice. They hooked it up and I left for work, came back and only about 10 pieces of ice were made. So, I called up the place that I bought it from and they sent out a technician today but they couldnt figure it out. The technician was like, Oh, you need to send this in to Viking. This is a 700-pound unit. I spoke with them and they said that they will come out again to get this figured out. So, Im not very happy with the fridge at the moment. I also had ordered a Viking hood, a Viking stove, a dishwasher and a microwave. The microwave is fine so far. The range and dishwasher, I had ordered back in May, still havent received them.

We bought a new construction condo about 11 years ago and the builder put a Viking in there. That was the first Viking we owned. This time, we did our due diligence in looking at some of the other things that were out there. We looked at Wolf, but I liked the simplicity of Viking. We’re also very happy with the quality of the range. My wife does the bulk of the cooking and she really likes the evenness of the heating in the oven. All the burners are like power burners. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

My husband and I completed our renovations in May 2018. We have had issues with the microwave drawer and the oven since we finished our kitchen. The panels were defected on both and we had to set up at least 4/5 appointments with the authorized service provider until the matters were remedied. Fast forward to January 2019 - the oven does not work above 300 degrees. I was advised by Viking that service can schedule an appointment to look at the oven in mid February!!! After several calls, we were scheduled for service today. When nobody arrived - we were advised that Viking canceled the appointment 3 days ago, never advising us of the change. Not only does the product fail to meet its reputation, the customer service at Viking is reason alone never to buy another Viking product.

I went to a number of home shows when I was trying to build a house and talked to a Viking Refrigerators rep and a dealer. I went to about five more home shows and saw the same guys. I decided to make the purchase and so far theyre okay. However, it is not cold all the way. Sometimes the freezer ices up a bit. And then I had to make sure that ice is not stuck in the ice maker because ice won’t come out. The ref is great, but it’s having twerks. I reached out to Viking Refrigerators but they wanted me to register everything first and then call back. Also, the dealer was just all about the sale and after that, he kept having a follow-up and a follow-up. I wouldn’t use that dealer again. The purchase part was easy. But we went through three different units before we got the right one. The first one was defective. Theres a piece called a bullnose, thats where the knobs are on the front, and it wasnt seated properly on the range, and the door was crooked. The whole thing was shifted to one side. It was minor, but at that price point, it needs to be nearly perfect. And that took nine months to get. The second one came two and a half months later and it was also defective. It had some quality problems on it. It showed up, we pulled it out of the box, and the installer took it back. The third one came two months after that and thats the one we have and its fine. Its an electric oven. The temperature is off by 25 degrees. So, we bought our own thermometer that we keep installed inside of it so that we get a bit more accurate readout. Other than that, everything else has been great. It looks good. It works well.

We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

We installed a Viking range, wall oven and microwave in 2006. In the first few years, we had to repair the range for not igniting properly and the wall ovens thermostat. In 2011, the thermostat on the wall oven stopped working (twice now) as well as the thermostat in the range. This is not a thermostat that is just a bit off. It is so off that they make the ovens unusable. We have been trying to install working thermostats since September 2011.First, the part was back ordered for three weeks. Once installed, it did not work. After three subsequent visits from the appliance repair company, during which, technicians at Viking insisted via phone that nothing was wrong. That repair company found it necessary to hand it on to the distributor, as they had no confidence that Viking could even provide a thermostat that would work. They agreed that the thermostats were broken, but wanted to charge labor, even though we were within the labor warranty guarantee. I wrote the owner of company with a complaint but there was no response. Now, the distributor is refusing to come out again saying that they were doing us a favor by coming out the first time. They did us a favor? Horrible, horrible product and horrible, horrible customer service.

I was looking for a pro series refrigerator to match my professional appliances. The Viking Refrigerator met my requirements plus it was around my budget. The person from the store has been helping me with the appliances and choosing the right ones, and thought highly about the Viking Refrigerator. It’s very well lit with the LED lighting and it’s nice being able to open it and see everything. I like the number of shelves and the fact that I can reconfigure them. I have one that folds in half, so thats also neat because I may not need a full shelf. I could fold one of the shelves in half to fit a gallon of milk or orange juice, but if I dont have that, maybe I want to have the shelves instead. Also, the control panel lights up and temperature cool zone can be adjusted to cool whatever food you’re storing and it will keep it at that temperature plus the dial setting can be easily accessed because it’s in the inside of the door. Thats very helpful because with other refrigerators, they have it in places where someone cant even reach. The only issue that I had was that I had to have the refrigerator replaced 3 times because of the doors being not aligned and even. They tried to align the doors but the top part was wider open than the bottom. The store said that they couldnt do anything with it because the wheels in the back were not adjustable and they could not also adjust the doors. They could only do operating on adjustments. I called Viking service and they sent a repairman who said that it was actually defective and I need it to have it replaced. The reason it happened twice is because the store said, Well order a replacement, but when it came, one of the doors was dented. Theyve had the same issue, and they were not going to leave it with me. Theyre going to take it back. The store said, If youre not happy with the Viking maybe you could choose a different model or a different refrigerator. But even though the Viking refrigerator has those issues, I liked it and was already in love with it. I couldnt find that different selection. So then they delivered a new one and it was better than the other one. It wasnt wobbly but it still had an issue with the doors. However, when the repairman came and told me that it was defective, he said the doors could be fixed but not the wobbly part. They called the service again and I said, I got the replacement refrigerator. Can you come fix the door? They did, so now its good.At least, they let me keep the refrigerator until I got the replacement so I was not without a refrigerator. But because it was a special order it would take long time, like in a month. I wasnt happy because of everything else, but regarding the unit itself and how it operates, I would definitely recommend it. For the price, its great because it competes with the professional refrigerators.

I own a Viking range and a Sub-Zero refrigerator but I was looking for a freestanding one. Between Sub-Zero and Viking, Viking was the only one that had it. And since I was very happy with my range, I got a Viking refrigerator. I like the lighting in both the refrigerator and the freezer, and its doing an excellent job of keeping the food cold. Its a very good product. And their team answered all my questions before I went forward with the purchase. Also, everybody was very knowledgeable of my questions when I called their 800 numbers and was very helpful.

We’ve had a Viking range for 12 years. We compared Sub-Zero and Viking when we looked to replace our freezer and refrigerator. Viking was more affordable so we went with them. However, the quality is not the best. Our Sub-Zeros that we replaced were older models and they were built better back then than they are today for both. The temperature is not consistent and some of the settings arent correct. The freezer will go anywhere from 10 degrees above zero to 10 degrees below zero even set on a fairly high setting. It’s wasting a lot of energy. Overall, theyre very nice looking but Im not impressed with the quality, not for the price.

Our Viking 48 two door refrigerator: After two years it stopped working; drawers, shelves, plastic trim, refrigerator side door interior panels cracking, and both door seals in desperate need of replacement. After reading so many complaints about Viking appliances we just decided to wait and get more familiar with this expensive brand. In the mean time we went to Lowes and got a Samsung as a spare. Not sure on how to proceed, the Viking refrigerator was turned off and unplugged for three years. After the three years, we called Viking; Viking replaced the compressor, but we had to pay for all the expensive labor and all the other expensive replacement parts including the ice maker and both door seals. The refrigerator interior door panel is expensive and not worth of replacement. The refrigerator started to leak right after it was serviced from the freezer every time the freezer defrosts. Our 48 Viking Freestanding Gas Range: The knobs on the front of the range get very hot when using the ovens. The lettering and markings on the range disappeared. Oven doors dont close correctly. After three years, we started to smell gas coming from both ovens when in use. The ovens would not heat up properly, had to replace all three oven igniters. The large oven door/hinges stuck and we could not get the door to open or close, had all door hinges replaced on both doors. As a contractor, I find it amazing that I keep seeing Viking Appliances in multimillion dollar homes. My best guess is that these Viking appliances are there for appearance purposes only. Viking Appliance is the worst brand. Viking appliances are only worth the metal that they are made of. DO NOT even look at a Viking Appliance. I encourage all owners of any Viking appliance to be truthful and help the next victim that maybe looking to buy the Viking brand.

Viking products have been in my family for as long as I can remember. I found the right size fridge for what I wanted to do from Viking and I went to the dealer and bought it. Outside of the range, all the Viking Products we have purchased, including build in microwave, built in oven, and dishwater failed numerous times and service has been horrible to say the least. Parts take months to get if you can get them at all and service reps pretty much just play guessing games on what to do. Do yourself a favor and go buy a GE or KitchenAid. I heard about Viking through some friends of mine that are builders. But he convinced me that Viking had corrected the flaws that their products had. The dealer was good and he had just the right amount of information and push. The cooktop that we got from Viking has been amazing and I like the burners on top. The fridge has been awesome and the dishwasher seems to be good so far. But the oven hasn’t been working and we haven’t been able to use it for a week or so. It worked fine before and then the appliance repair guy came out and made an adjustment, and the oven went from working to non-working. Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.

Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

My husband and I like to cook a lot and we like the high BTUs. Viking is known for quality, and we also like the elegant style of the range. We did a professional kitchen with a remodel and really liked it. My husband likes the Viking ranges ability to sear steaks. He actually likes the steaks in the oven better than on the grill now. The only thing I dont like about the oven is when you close the door, it really wants to close. The first time I went to close it, it slipped out of my hand and it slammed shut. You have to really hold on to the door, unlike other stoves where theres some tension at the end and it wont shut all the way until you push it to close. Other than that, Ive put some water on the stove and I was amazed. I put it on the front burner, the high BTUs, and the water heated up. It was boiling within a couple of minutes and it was very nice to be able to have the features that allow it to work as well as it does. Weve enjoyed the range and I would recommend it.

We were building a home three years ago, and I looked up about Viking, Wolf and other ranges and decided to get a Viking. I thought it was a top-of-the-line product and I liked the sleek look of it compared to Wolf. Im now on my second Viking since the one that was initially put into my home did not heat properly and it did not cook right since the day it was installed. So eventually, the door wouldnt close completely and that was under some recall type of thing. Viking ended up replacing the entire unit. However, there is only one repair service here in Columbus that deals with Viking as far as I know. I keep being told thats because Viking is either charging too much money and/or wont supply the parts and I would love to see some more competition rather than just one repair service that I have to call and pay their prices to repair a Viking product. I wanted a Viking range for decades, so every time I looked at commercial-type ranges, it was usually either Viking or Wolf. But, Viking has always been the commercial style range that I wanted, but I put it off for years and years because I wanted the double oven size with six burners. Then I realized that to get the one I wanted, it would involve remodeling half of my kitchen to make space for it. So, I finally decided that, instead of putting it off because of that, Im just going to get the 30-inch one, so it would fit into the existing space. And so I did and Im happy. I bought ours at Colders, a furniture store, and I worked with someone who specializes in Viking ranges. It is an authorized dealer.Ive always had electric ranges my whole life. And one of the things that I havent liked in the past about gas ranges is the gas oven. Id prefer an electric oven and a gas stovetop. And now that they make dual-fuel ranges that are the perfect answer for me. Also, I just like the ruggedness of it. The hole that you put the pots on, theyre like army tanks. Theyre big, heavy, iron grates that are just so well-built. And the whole thing is heavy-duty that can last a lifetime. I like the simplicity of it, too. The electric range that I replaced was all digital. It had all kinds of extra digital features that I never used. This one has mechanical knobs, and everything works perfectly. However, the caveat is theyre expensive. So, you really have to be dedicated to cooking. If they were cheaper, I would have bought two. You really have to want that kind of a range before you are willing to spend that much money. Other than that, from the performance and quality of the Viking, it is 5-star all the way. It would be my top recommendation for a commercial range.

Back in November, we bought a refrigerator and a stove. I got a GE profile then and it didnt work. The part was back ordered so they brought out another one and it had the exact same problem. So I went to look for more stoves but then I didnt like all the electronic crap. Every time I leaned up against the front of the stove, it would go crazy because of all the electronics. All I wanted was an old fashioned stove that bakes but looked updated. I looked at other stoves and I didnt like them. When went online and read about Viking in Consumer Reports, it was the only oven that people said worked. I hated to spend the next $2,300 that I didnt have, but I didnt want an oven that I couldnt use. So I got a Viking.I thought my Viking Range was gonna be spectacular. But then its not and Im a little disappointed. When their guys delivered it, the bottom panel just above the legs wasnt secured. I pushed on the upper corner thinking I could just push it in and that didnt work. So, the delivery guy came and he had to screw it in. He then told me that I had dented it with my finger pushing on the corner. I told him I didnt think so but he made me sign off on something that said that was so. After he left, I saw that there were dents on the other side in the same place I hadnt touched. I dont know where those dents came from, but I didnt do either one of them. So I called and had to ask for a new bottom panel. Their reps said that in the first week, they replace anything. Since then, Ive been liking the range pretty well. However, it doesnt bake as well as I thought it would, it being that expensive of an oven. I had previously traded my GE in because I had so many problems with it. I thought that because my new oven was a Viking, it was gonna be better than it is. Its hard to see through the dark window and even when you have the light on in the oven. Its hard to see whats going on. It seems to take longer to cook than I thought it would. Furthermore, I dont notice a lot of differences between the convection oven feature and just the bake feature. I dont know if I like the grill either as I thought it was gonna be thicker. Sometimes, when I put a heavy pot on it, it seems like its not real sturdy and I dont know how itll hold up over time. The grills are not as heavy as those on some of the other ones which is something I like because it was awkward to pull those heavier things off. Also, Im not too wild about my Viking being up on legs but then Im getting used to it. Still, I like the stove really well. I like that you can simmer on it. However, when its pre-heating, it buzzes sometimes and it sounds like something in the back is vibrating. When that happens, I can hear the fan which is kind of loud but then it goes on only for a few seconds every once in a while. I also like the black background and the black liner underneath the burners as it is fairly easy to keep clean. I like the controls too. This is in contrast to the stainless steel on the GE profile as I couldnt keep that clean. I also like the look and the slide in. But then, Im gonna have to get my gas outlet and have a plumber put it at a different point that is lower to the ground. My range sticks away from the wall so doing that would allow it to sit up against the wall. Though maybe Viking is still working out the bugs with their range as they havent been making these for very long, I thought from their reputation that my Viking was gonna be a little different. Still, Im pretty happy overall.

I thought Viking had a good reputation and high-quality appliances. Ive had my Viking refrigerator since November 1st and the buying process was fine. The rebate process was pretty good too. It’s just that the $10,000 refrigerator isn’t working that great. It doesn’t make ice and/or whatever makes the ice sort of bloated out and puts frost all over the freezer. We have had a Viking range for almost our entire married life. We lost our range in the tornado the day after Christmas, and we did not rebuild. We bought another house. The range that we had in here was an LG and it was a piece of crap. I had to turn off the air conditioning because the gas burner would blow the flame to the right and it wouldnt heat anything. The broiler never got hot enough. I could put my hand under it. It did not do anything it was supposed to do. So, we went back to a Viking. Our other Viking was a double oven, griddle, grill, four-burner and it was wonderful. Our kitchen is not that big this time, so we just got a four-burner gas range and the single oven. The broiler works and the burners have power. I like the center thing where I can put an oval pot in the center. The fellows who delivered it were above and beyond. They spent a lot of time here, carted away our other range and got this one situated. At first, we thought it was gonna stick out from the wall too much and wed have to relocate the gas line a bit, but once they put it in place, it was fine.

I knew Viking from the installation in multiple houses from friends but in this particular case, the builder had Viking as the official product to be selected from. We didn’t have an option but to select within Viking products. Its a good brand though and I like their refrigeration products look, that the drawers close softly and that it works. I would recommend them with a caveat of what the person might be looking for exactly. For example, this refrigerator doesn’t have the option to access water or ice from outside the door so it’s just practical issues depending on how you want to use it and what is your preference.

I like the efficiency and design of the Viking ranges burners up on the cooktop. Ive had two ranges over the years, and overall, the quality is good. Ive bought other ranges to try to save money, but they didnt measure up. So, when I was able to afford it, I bought my second Viking and I use it every day. And its wonderful. We just had a repair done under warranty to the current one that we have. It was an igniter, but it got totally handled for everything, and now its back in action. It took two weeks to get the part but the person who came to do the repair did a great job.

We have an induction range and a microwave. The microwave is not user friendly, I cant read the timer, hate that the control pad is behind the door. It looks sleek but I wish I never bought it. The induction range - the burners barely do anything unless you put the control at Med, Hi or higher. The knobs wiggle and are loose. They sent me new knobs but that didnt fix the problem. The oven seems to work fine, but I would much prefer a digital readout because there is no really accurate control of the temperature.

Back in 2013, I was going to do a remodel to my house kitchens with a centerpiece. It was gonna be open to all of the appliances and we’re going to be in view in the open area. I was looking for a bit more than the GEs but there’s quite a few to choose from and Viking was close. The Viking range is excellent. It’s the leader of the pack and we’re so happy with it. The burners can be quickly assembled for cleaning purposes and I like their layout. The range is very serviceable, very durable, and the oven is fantastic. The racks in the oven are extremely easy to move and work with, very heavy and it gives me a lot of confidence working with them. The stove has a dent in the back for the heat to come out and that creates a primary heat in the backslash. I don’t think there’s another stove out there that would beat Viking but they’ve got to get rid of the heat somewhere. There was absolutely no service calls on the range. It’s been perfect and it’s amazing.

I knew about Viking Ranges from back in the days that it’s a high-end commercial range. They’re one of the first ranges from back in the day that have been still around, and I recently also heard that they have improved their latest model. So, I decided to go and get one, and I love it. I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. Ive used my range and have gone back to the department store. I looked at the lower-end models and the integrity of the material isn’t there, like the grill grates and the griddle. Everything is just built a lot better on the Viking gas range.

I purchased all Viking appliances for my newly remodeled kitchen 2 years ago. I have had to have each of them repaired at least once. I am currently waiting for the fourth service call on the refrigerator. There is only one warranty repair service company in my area and I have to wait at least 2 weeks to get service. The dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and 6 burner dual fuel range are not worth the money I spent. I would absolutely not recommend Viking appliances to anyone. I am very concerned what they will cost to repair when the warranties expire. I would strongly suggest potential consumers to look for an alternative product unless you enjoy waiting for repair service.

We remodeled our kitchen and we liked the quality that Viking Ranges seemed to have. Moreover, it seemed like a very good product. The salespeople in the store really helped us as well. We were in between Wolf and Viking, so they explained to us a few of the things that were going on with Viking at the time. They told us that in the past, Viking did not have such good reviews as far as their home appliances and that theyve come through the last couple of years and changed some things in the way they deal with things. Plus, they had a nice rebate going on at the time. Ive gotten to use the range quite a bit and Im very happy with it. Its heavy and sturdy, which are the greatest things about it. However, you have to make sure that you get a good exhaust fan. With the kind that we purchased, you have to get a separate fan. Also, we purchased the range in October and we had it installed in January, but we still have not received our rebate.

Weve purchased a whole lot of Viking in our past two houses and Im done. We bought an 8 burner dual fuel range when we remodeled our house. Within one month of when we could start using it, we had problems. In the 3 years since the remodel started, weve had service out a minimum of 10 times and they cant nail down a problem. They suggested keeping a log of issues which we did for a year. Showed dates and issues documenting a routine problem with the temperature not seeming right, uneven heating, self-cleaning doesnt work, pre-heat takes an hour and over fan takes more than an hour to turn off. Fixed several different pieces and STILL have such uneven heating that nearly everything comes out burned on the outer edges before the inner part will be cooked. Forget making a cake. The middle will be raw when the outside is done. Nobody from Viking will help. The regional manager called once while I was at work and wont return any calls after 5 attempts. Clearly just trying to look good on a report, not actually help. What I want to know is what about my written warranty AND the implied warranty of fitness for purpose (i.e., being able to cook things normally) that is supposed to be the law?! Not only will I never buy another Viking product. Im warning everyone I know against it also.

When I contacted Viking about this problem; they responded first with having a certified personnel come out and take a look at the rust. Then when the personnel reported it back to Viking they responded with it was a human error and did nothing about this at all. I followed the seasoning procedures in their manual. Viking blamed me for the rust. Unprofessional and ridiculous.

I had one gas stove and I wanted something that was a quality electric. Originally, I was gonna go with a Frigidaire and I knew they have ones that have a dual oven and maybe even a little pizza oven. But when I saw what Viking had to offer and the kind of deal I was getting, I went out of my original price range and got the quality product. I knew the quality and the reputation that they had. I also liked the features and the style. But when I looked at the unit, it didnt look like the door was squared up. So I called it in to have them come out and adjust the door. I almost hated to do that but Viking is the Mercedes of ovens. I spent that kind of money and I expected everything to fit right and be squared up. When the technician came out, he took pictures of it, documented it and figured out what the problem was. It wasnt the door. It was the bezel, which he ordered. But he had also tried to see if there were ways that he could fix it without having to do it, but he couldnt. Then he came back another time but they had sent the wrong bezel. It didn’t fit because it didn’t have the right number of holes for the knobs. So he’s gonna come back out again and it will eventually get fixed. Its taking a little while but thats okay. It took a little while to get the oven built in the first place too. I was on the waiting list with the manufacturer first and then with the company I bought it from. I also got free shipping, which meant that the range took weeks to get here but that was okay. Besides, the company is backing up their product and Ive got a lot of respect for the company so far. If they keep the guy coming out here until the unit gets fixed, there wont be any problems. So far, I am happy. The range is very impressive. The idea is that this is not gonna be a throwaway one. The other one that came with the house was 17 years old and it hit the trash can. But hopefully, this one will last for many years and it’s one that’s worth repairing if something goes wrong. I also got a backsplash and a Viking dishwasher, and a friend of mine took a picture of the setup. He got a bunch of likes on Facebook.

My husband’s a contractor and Viking was his choice. He had clients that had put them in their homes multiple times and he, for whatever reason, liked them. I’m very happy with the Viking appliances but I wish I could keep the fingerprints off my refrigerator. And I had done without for so long, I’m just so happy with the stovetop I have. Also, I love having the six burners of the gas range. However, there was a complete lack of follow up from our salesperson. It was worse than bad, if that’s possible. We had a horrible fire in October [Novato, CA brush fire, October 2017] and maybe my sales rep somewhat got evacuated for a week from his home. That’s a really bad thing but someone should’ve been there to take care of his clients while he was out. And we didn’t have any kind of customer service prior to that and even after that and there were delays. So I called his boss and they compensated us on something. I will never buy anything from Viking again. I love my appliances but I am sorry that was who I purchased them from.

We were remodeling our house and I needed a bigger refrigerator. Viking was one of the better ones on the market so we got their 48-inch refrigerator. We also ended up getting all Viking appliances (a range, a hood, and a stove) because I wanted to stay with the same brand for resale purposes. However, we’ve only bought the refrigerator in November and in February, the mechanism that defrosts the coils in the freezer went out, and trying to get that fixed was not pleasant. I called Viking on a couple occasions and they said they had three contractors for us but two of them didn’t service refrigerators down in South Florida. The third company sent a guy out and he said he’ll defrost it. I told him we’ve been defrosting it every other day for a month while waiting for him to come out. He said “Well, I got to try this anyway and if it doesn’t work then call us back.” He defrosted it and two days later, it was icing over again. So I called the company back and they said I needed to replace the mechanism that defrosts it. They have it back ordered and I had to wait another month for them to get the part. I spent two months with a $10,000 refrigerator and I had to take a heat gun every other day and defrost the coils in the freezer so I wouldnt lose everything in it.After the mechanism went out, my husband read on forums that our refrigerator’s issue is a common Viking problem. And the tech they sent out didn’t speak English, which is fine because I speak Spanish. I kept asking, “Well, what is actually the problem?” And he said, “Well, it just needs to be defrosted.” He wanted me to sign all these forms and I said, “Look, I am not paying for this because this should be under my extended warranty that I paid for.” He said I had to sign it and that’s the only time I got him to tell me what he thought was wrong with our fridge. When I had to call back, I told them not to send the same guy but they did. He had no social skills. He didn’t even introduce himself when he showed up and left without saying anything. I had to track him outside the driveway and ask if it was already fixed. He said, “Well, just watch it. If it frosts over again then you’re gonna have to call another service ticket on it.”Though the Viking dealers were nice and helpful, the service could be way better. The number that I was provided for servicing in my purchase packet was redirecting me to the store so I had to call them and try to find servicing for it. I sat on hold trying to get someone for almost an hour to answer the phone. If I’m gonna be on hold for a long time, they should send my call to a voicemail and call me back. Other than the mechanism going out in less than a year, everything else has worked beautifully. The refrigerator keeps my fruits and vegetables fresher way longer than the last refrigerator we had. I liked that I always have space in it, and I also love the other appliances that we bought. I wouldn’t recommend the refrigerator for the price, but the other appliances, I would.

My refrigerator has leaked for 10 months. I have a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator each freestanding unit, but they are mounted in together. My freezer was reinstalled crooked, and now I’m waiting to hear back from Viking to get it adjusted and installed correctly. I first reported the incident with my original refrigerator in July of 2018. It took me 10 months and 11 service calls to get my unit replaced, and many windows of times waiting for someone to come and service it as recent as yesterday because my Viking refrigerator and my Viking freezer had two different badges on them -- the tag on it that says Viking. One says Viking Professional, and it’s 2x4 inches large, and the other one is 1 inch by 2, 3 inches wide, so they dont match. They sent someone out to fix the badges, and the repairperson was not able to because of the badge that was sent. So, I took time out of my day to be home during my service window, only for him to tell me, “Sorry, I can’t do anything for you. You’ll have to call again.” I would tell others to buy a Sub-Zero instead.

Unfortunately, the previous owner did not leave any of the user manuals behind and unable to locate the model & serial numbers. Hope from customer service and Stuart from the service side were a huge help. I was able to find out when my refrigerator was made and some of other mechanical information I needed. My husband ordered a Viking range for me as a surprise birthday present. The service people that we paid to do the installation were horrible and didnt know anything about it, and so we ended up having to do it ourselves. The range is good and I like the easy clean. None of my stuff seeps down in the burners when what I cook overflows. However, the range should have more of the easy slide racks because the ones that arent are too small for the oven. Also, when the oven is on and I would turn it to low, the flame on the two front ranges would go out. The two outer knobs would also turn with a resistance. So Viking is replacing the oven.My husband is waiting for someone to call him back for our inconvenience. Since were getting a new stove, we hope we can keep the easy glide rack as compensation for our difficulty because this oven is not cheap. I would recommend Viking with reservation. If they don’t take care of the issues I have right now and I have to keep calling, then I will get Better Business Bureau involved. I would really not like to because this is a very nice birthday present and I was very happy with it.

I knew about them through word of mouth and after looking online at different options, I chose to buy from them due to brand recognition and the more commercial look of their ranges. When I called Viking, their reps were very helpful, easy to deal with, and immediately helped me register my range so I could get the process started in the repair that I needed. I’ve had a couple of issues but they’ve been addressed through the warranty. They referred me to a local appliance repair company and theyve been responsive. My favorite feature would be how quickly I can cook a meal, the burners get hot and the oven stays relatively warm. The feature that I do not like is on the oven, how the temperature resets. In the year 2000 my husband and I bought a home and shortly after began an extensive and costly kitchen remodel. We spared no expense and believing we were buying the best, we bought a Viking refrigerator. In hindsight, it was our worst decision. Almost from the very beginning we began having problems. The ice maker stopped working, the door accessories and drawers began to crack to the point that one of the condiment containers has a huge hole on the bottom rendering it totally unusable. Certainly not the quality youd expect from such expensive appliances. When food started spoiling we knew we had a big problem and called Viking for help. By then, of course, warranty had expired but they recommended a local service company. By the third visit with no resolution we knew we were dealing with an incompetent repairman and my husband, at this point beyond frustrated, practically threw him out of our home. We never got any satisfaction from Viking. And its incomprehensible to me that after spending thousands of $$$ on a beautiful, state-of-the-art refrigerator I am forced to make ice in plastic ice cube trays and keeping milk, cheese, cold cuts and veggies in my old GE in the basement because the temp is never cold enough no matter how we adjust the settings. Last night I opened the door to put something away and felt warm air. The Viking finally conked out. So, this morning my husband and I are debating who to call. And as I google Viking, I came across your reviews and, can I say, I am shocked by the hundreds of negative stories I have spent over 2 hours reading, stories so similar to mine. So now I dont know what to do. Do I dare spend possibly $1,500-2,000 in repairs which may or may not fix the problem or do I ditch the Viking and take the loss? One of our dilemma is that our kitchen was totally custom therefore the Viking is tightly wall mounted with molding and trim all around. Would I be able to find a non-Viking refrigerator that would fit the same dimensions? I am so angry. This is certainly not what one would expect from a company like Viking. I am open to join a class action suit.

I had a full Viking kitchen in my former home but I had to get a refrigerator in a hurry because I was moving. But when I got my Viking Refrigerator last January, I had a problem with it immediately. The freezer door did not close completely so I had the serviceman come out because it looked like it was out of alignment. He said we just have to pull it this way or that so he realigned it. I left town for two weeks, came back and my freezer was so frozen up we could not open it. On one side, there was a tiny gap and all that air was getting in there. When I got back, I immediately called the repairman. He comes only to Tuscaloosa once a week so I had to wait a week. The serviceman came back and said, Youre gonna have to take everything out of your refrigerator. Turn the refrigerator off, let it thaw like an old-fashioned refrigerator, and then find a place to put all of it, then bring it back... So it was a terrible experience. He told me that it was something that happens with that refrigerator and that was a very lame excuse. Everything in my house is Viking and this is just something I have to accept? Thats not why I went with it. There was no repair done. He simply said that I needed to make sure that when the door closes, it is not caught one way or the other so that the air could not get in.But other than that, buying the refrigerator through a Viking dealer has been a wonderful experience. They were very nice trying to accommodate me. Also, my overall experience with the repairman has been excellent. He was great, very polite, very kind and he fixes what the problem is, but I was not satisfied with the fact that I just have to accept it. As far as that overall experience with owning a Viking refrigerator, its not good because I have this concern. Its just not a comfortable feeling. I even asked, Would they do something to replace it? He said, It would really take something big, and this is not something big. I told him that the inconvenience that I had to completely empty my refrigerator, turn it off, let it thaw out, and then put everything back in the freezer is not what I expect out of Viking.

Purchased 2 Viking ovens in 2012, stopped work properly in about 10 months.
Purchased 2 Viking ovens in 2012, stopped work properly in about 10 months. Called Viking for service, found out Viking only warranty is for 6 months. Had a repair person come out, he said the parts would be around $500.00 for each main control boards to fix the problem. Tried using only the convection functions to do most of baking for several years. I did this only because I did not want to spend an additional $1,000. on these damn ovens. Now, the convection is out, called back repair, when everything is completely fixed on both ovens, we are looking at $1,600.00. I think Viking is truly an awful brand, they do not stand behind their products and part are expensive. Buyer beware!
