This is my email to Middleby Residential who own Viking: Hello, On 7/19/2016, I purchased the following appliances for a total price of $42,500: 1-Viking Professional 7 Series VGR7488BSS 48; Wide 24; Deep Natural Gas Range, 1-Viking VCFB5363LSS 36; Professional 5 Series Upright Freezer with 19.2 cu. ft. Cap, 1-Viking VCRB5363RSS 36 Professional 5 Series All Refrigerator with 22.8 cu. ft. Capacity, 4-Viking RVEWD330SS 30; Wide 1.6 cu. ft. Electric Warming Drawer with Temperature SE, 1-Viking Professional 7 VDOF730SS 30 French Door Electric Double Wall Oven with 9.4 cu., 1-Viking RVM320SS 24; Wide 2.0 cu. ft. Microwave Oven with 16; Diameter Turntable, 2-Viking VDW302SS 24; 3 SERIES Energy Star Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 14 PLACE, 1-Viking VRCO5240DRSS 24; Outdoor Series Undercounter Beverage Center with 5.3 cu. ft.I chose Viking because of its reputation as an elite brand and their strong commitment to customer service, even though lesser brands seemed to offer more gadgets for less. My hope was that a big investment in appliances would mean less maintenance headache down the line and the Viking name will preserve the resale value for my house. Unfortunately, Ive had nothing but trouble since. Ive had multiple issues with the fridge (4 axial fans replaced, Defrost terminator replaced, defective bolt in fridge door replaced), the freezer (rust on the ice drawer), both dishwashers (electronic card/display already replaced on one and currently needs replacement on the other, Diverter valve replaced on the other), the microwave (electronic card/display currently needs replacement. It is worth mentioning that the appliances werent in use until late January 2017 since the house was still under construction. When all these issues started, Ive contacted your customer service number and was referred to one of your certified repair services, Executive Appliance Service in Garden Grove, CA. They can confirm all the issues mentioned above as they made NUMEROUS service calls to my house. I was about to call them again to replace the electronic display for both the dishwasher & the microwave when I realized that the amount of times Ive had to service those appliances is excessive & abnormal. Ive had to purchase a very basic appliance package for a guest house at the same time Ive purchased the Viking package and I havent had a single issue with them.Thats why I decided to to share my concerns with you and ask what could be done for me. Did I purchase what would be called a lemon in car terminology? Can you send someone to take a look at them? How can you help me with all the issues I mentioned & restore my trust in your brand? Thank you very much for your help & understanding. Looking forward to receiving your response.Their response was to cover parts only for the dishwasher. They wouldnt do anything about the microwave and said that rust inside the freezer is a cosmetic issue therefore would only give me %15 off their ice drawer which came out to $218.37. When I said that Id want them to cover parts and labor for the dishwasher & microwave, they refused. The appliances I purchased are most definitely defective. There are many similar complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!

We’ve always used high-end appliances and we have always used Viking. For the second house we purchased, the appliances came with it but with the first house, we purchased appliances and it was either Viking or Wolf, and we just went with Viking. The refrigerator is usually good. I also liked the size our refrigerator. We’re a little disappointed that it broke and to have a repair so quickly after moving in. The refrigerator stopped cooling, which is a pretty big thing for a high-end refrigerator. For appliances that are so expensive, we expect, number one, not to have as many necessary repairs as we have had in the past; and number two, we expect the experience to be more seamless when we do have that.

I bought my Viking Range at Best Buy and I love it. Pacific Sales, the company that sold me the floor model, was very helpful. We were in the middle of a remodel at our house so we were buying a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a microwave for the counter. We looked at the Viking ones and we were kind of disappointed with them. They didnt live up to the Viking quality. Also, the salespeople there told us that they are actually made for Viking by another company because people want the Viking line and matching appliances. Nevertheless, Ive always liked Viking gas ranges because theyre most well known for their commercial type features. Ive liked the cooktop most of all because I like cooking with gas. In sum, my experience with Viking Ranges has been fantastic.

My wife researched Viking Ranges online since we’ve seen them before at different houses. She was happy with the price and the package that she got. We got a white range with a big scratch on it and it took six months to get a new kit panel. My experiences with Viking are not very good. But the range is great except for the scratch. The people who sold us the appliances dealt with the Viking dealership and they’re absolutely terrible. I would get a call on a Monday and she would tell me I’m going to hear from Viking and they would tell me what theyre going to do. But we never got a call. And at the end of the week, I’d call them and tell them we didn’t get a call this week. And they would say we didnt get a callback because she was busy or it was the Fourth of July or the Memorial Day or a Flag Day. We weren’t happy when we received it. It also took a long time to get anything. They need to send somebody else who knows what they’re doing besides analyzing what the repairman did! I’m not impressed at all. It’s been an unbelievably poor experience.

Our Viking range was a part of our new home package and so far, I’ve been very happy with it. It burns very cleanly and I like that it is gas. It’s quiet. I’ve not had any problems with it. Its reliable and good. We had to call in an issue a couple of weeks ago but it turned out to be the electrical system in our house and not the actual range itself.

Viking DDSF036 SS Counter depth side x side. The door was opened on the fridge side and one of the glass shelves shattered into little pieces. I called Viking to replace the shelf, no problem. Now 2 months later after my credit card was charged months ago and jerking me around they are telling me that they cant make or get the shelf. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy another Viking Appliance again. Now I have to go out and buy a new fridge because this part isnt available anywhere and YES I have tried everywhere to find it.

I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer. Their professionalism and knowledge of the product were good. The Viking refrigerator is good overall, but we had issues when we got it. It was leaking so it damaged our floor. I still have to file an insurance claim for that. I think there was a damaged part, and when I had a claim, the company wasn’t expedient in their response.

We got a Viking Refrigerator primarily because of the name and reputation. But then unfortunately, Vikings name has suffered in the last few years but hopefully, I wont have any issues with this one. The quality is fine, its fairly modern and it has nice LED lights. P.C. Richard was the dealer and they were professional and very good about it. The only thing I was a little disappointed is that it didnt have any cold water coming out and I would have expected that for a $3700 appliance. But overall, its a nice refrigerator and I would recommend it.

The Viking Range fit all of the requirements that I had. Its a professional range and has a 36-inch all-gas oven. But Ive had a lot of issues with the range. I had to have the ignition switch replaced about a week after it was installed because the oven would not light. And now Im waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it wont stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasnt functioned properly since. But the dealer has been helpful as far as sending someone out to repair it. The Viking rep called and was very pleasant. He offered to come out and do a free demonstration whenever the unit is functioning properly. Theyre supposed to come out and replace the burner. Hopefully after that he can come out and show me some features of the oven.

Viking Ranges is the absolute worst. I started May 15th trying to get two sets of two products and they were finally installed yesterday. So, it was three months to get these products. And I couldnt use my oven because the door wouldnt close. And twice, the wrong parts were sent. They even said they would definitely get the correct parts to me via mail but I never got them, so then I went to customer service. Awful. I got the right parts only on the third time because I called the customer service woman who was terrific and helped me as much as she could. Ive also called an appliance dealership that I work with in Pennsylvania and talked to the repair people here in New York who sell Viking and they have both said theyre not recommending anybody to buy Viking anymore because their repairs are so awful.

I like my Viking refrigerator, and its style. It fits my needs with all the drawers it has. I like that the freezer doesn’t dry things out and there’s never a freezer burn. When I put something in it, it does not taste like the refrigerator. Also, the ice never tastes funny. I don’t care how old the ice is. It’s perfect. Those are the important things. However, the drawers were cracked. I had a bottle of soda explode in it, and it flows on the top shelf. It’s leaking, and there are only two of us living in the house so it’s not from overuse or abuse. The repairmen have been coming out fixing everything, and the drawers are now fixed and the leak is gone. When we have a problem, we call the dealer and they send someone out, and now they escalated it so someone from Viking comes out. They’re responsive.

Weve had Viking for a long time in our family and the range fits with the design of our kitchen. We got it from a local dealer and they were easy to work with. However, the quality of the range has been a little bit surprising. For the price, Im surprised that weve had issues with the burners not working compared to other ranges weve owned from other manufacturers. We had someone out to fix our Viking dishwasher which had issues, and at the same time, they addressed the burner. Although after they addressed it, it was broken again so theyve been out again. So weve had bad experience.

We did a direct replacement of our Viking because when we had it put in and turn the oven on, it wouldnt work. We had to wait three weeks because the guy couldnt come. When he finally came, he had to replace the thermostat. But it was kind of a fiasco when they came to install. The gas pipe wasnt on code so we had to redo the gas pipe and they havent come back. But the technicians have been excellent to work with. The guy couldnt help that our gas line was not right. He was trying to do the best he can to get back. It was delayed a week or two weeks to get it hooked up.We have used it for months now and its been great. Its easier to clean. It looks nice to me. I like the new knobs and that they have a little light that lights that up. Thats a nice feature. Its nice to have a beautiful, clean oven, and its gas. We have the sealed burners, which makes it nice too. Ive always had a Viking for so long. Ive always liked them.

I have a Viking side by side fridge, double oven unit and a range top - While the range top seems to work Ok The Fridge is the worst, between the ice maker not working properly, water evaporation unit does not work (a known problem) where you have to empty/wipe off the water from under the unit, and various shelf draw handles and side door, doors have broken off (replacements are expensive). The oven works ok but in the first year all the temperature and oven controls (bake, convection bake, broil etc) have worn off, and its not like I used steel wool to clean this, but really how is this even possible? My advice - stay away from Viking - there are plenty other vendors out there with better products.

We just received a new Viking VDR5486GSS $13,419 dollar 48 Inch 5 Series Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Freestanding Range and we can’t even use it. Right from the factory it has two left the burners that leak gas, a main door oven that’s out of alignment and can’t be realigned as per service tech and a middle support piece that was missing screws and bent in. Called Viking and they are closed until January 2 which has ruined our Christmas and New Years plans. Then the 3rd party service company that does warranty work ** says the part will not be in until February yet the Viking rep I spoke to says all the ten parts are in stock but their company is closed until January 2nd. Customer service was nice and tried to get the parts expedited but failed to tell me that the 3rd party service provider needed to put the order in before 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 20 because they closed the warehouse on Dec 21st.We just tried to bake biscuits in what is supposed to be the only working part, the oven in plain old bake mode. The top heating element comes on which burned the biscuits. The user manual shows that only the bottom element is supposed to come on. Extremely disappointed in this product and I just want to throw it in the trash as that is where it belongs. Something that costs $13,419 before tax should not have these rudimentary quality control issues. The Viking employees that built this trash should be ashamed of themselves! I can get a better quality product from the Big Box stores for a fraction of the cost.

Friends recommended the Viking refrigerator, and its name-brand and model made me go with it. It has a feature of ice in its door, and its my favorite. The quality is okay, but I had to do one repair recently. Ive also changed the refrigerator once since 2004. There was an issue with something and they offered to upgrade, so we did to get the ice and water in the door. Then, I had to replace the solenoid valve once for the ice-maker and the door stop. The parts of the refrigerator are expensive but other than that, they have very good customer service reps who are very helpful. I told them what was wrong and they sent the service guy out. They were able to fix it and they didnt have to come back twice.

Viking refrigerator VCSB483DSS. Purchased this very costly unit in late 2008. The ice maker and water dispenser has failed many times, we had to pay to install a heater inside the unit to stop it from freezing. The motor that turns the ice maker has broken twice. The door hinge has been replaced twice. The ice drawer has split. The water pump has malfunctioned three times causing the entire interior of the freezer to freeze over and today another $425 to replace the touchpad thermostat. My floors are ruined from all the assorted leaks. Should have just bought a simple $900 refrigerator from Sears. We have spent $3000 on repairs. Total failure. Never again for Viking.

We went through an open house and we saw one with Viking as one of the stuff they put in their kitchen. My parents really love Sub-Zero and we were wondering if we’d go with Sub-Zero or Viking, and we picked Viking out of price. I like how cold it is and I like the fact that food doesn’t go spoiled as easily as with my traditional $2,000-range fridge. I bought a floor model and I called Viking ‘cause it had an installation issue. They sent a third-party company fast, which is good in terms of their customer service. However, the company who did the repair was not as good as I would like them to be because they couldn’t do it right and they put on the report that it might be a different issue. They scheduled it for another three to four weeks ‘cause of the parts. Overall Viking is pretty solid, but from the design point-of-view, it’s a bit outdated compared to others. Sub-Zero is better but it’s a little bit pricier and it’s harder to find a floor model than Viking.

We were looking at all the high end range brands and went into Best Buy and had a look at Viking. We liked what we saw and the price was more economical for the quality that we get compared to the others. We had a very good sales rep who was able go into detail about a Viking range and what to expect from it versus a lower end priced brand. He explained things like how to clean the oven and how high heat with the self-cleaning ovens would typically end up destroying the integrity of the inside enameling. He gave a variety of information about little details that we would not think of.We got the series 5 which is easy to clean and does not deteriorate compared to the standard stove. It also cooks differently as theres an even heat. Plus, it also comes with the pull-out drawer in the oven which I love. My only two gripes is my particular series doesn’t come with a timer where I can time the temperature within the oven or have a timer right there on my stove if I’m baking a cake. We went back a second time looking for the timer and the salesman said it’s been discontinued and was only available to a certain model. The other one is I can’t seem to remove any stains from the golden-looking metal that extrudes from the surface of the stove top where the burner is without scratching it. I’ve used soap and water and I’m afraid to do anything else because I don’t wanna destroy the surface. Other than those, it’s a nice-looking range.

I have an electric oven from Viking Ranges and it works okay. They had somebody who was very good at installing it. The only thing is we have a little problem with taking one of the racks out in the oven. We have no problem with the others and we can pull them out all the way. We have a problem with holding one of them and we thought maybe were doing something wrong. If I cant figure it out, Im going to call somebody to look at it because I have insurance on it.But other than that, I like it. I like that I can go off to the other side on the top and that I could move from one area to another easily. I like that its apple red because I dont like the stainless steel which is so hard to clean. I also like the way the knobs are covered from the top and its size. I like everything about it. My friend also has a Viking and she only has broil and regular bake on it. I like the simpler one but mine has all these other options that Im working on how to figure it out. I recommend it and I already had to a friend because of my experience in New Hampshire.

Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice
Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice for my 6-year-old Viking, each time to replace all ignitors and the seal around the door glass. This is extremely expensive and unbelievable that a commercial range cannot take a daily 20-minute usage of the broiler without wearing out in 3 years time. The excuse I was given was that most people dont broil and their stoves last much longer; and that they mostly go out to dinner. What kind of bologna is this? I wouldnt mind repairing it every 3 years because it really does cook food very well when it is working, but the last time I had it repaired, which was a week ago, it cost me about $800 and I expect it will be even higher in the next 3 years! Isnt there a way for all of us to do a class action lawsuit against Viking? Please let me know if this is in the works because there are so many of us with the same story.

Our Viking Range is wonderful. We purchased it from Eastbank, and the people there were very good in terms of the installation and explaining all the features so that we can make an informed decision. I like the ease of cleaning it. When something bubbles or spills over the cooktop, its easy to clean it. There arent a lot of grooves where food can get stuck in. The only downside is that the oven has two knobs. One of them turns the oven and the other is for the temperature. Its a little counter-intuitive and not easy to see. We purchased a full suite of Viking kitchen appliances (gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), which were delivered on 10/1/2019. Since they were installed, all four appliances have required service. First, the insulated glass on the microwave door was not sealed properly, so condensation formed between the glass. Viking’s fix for this issue was a new door, which took over a month to get. The front panel on the dishwasher was damaged when it was installed, so it also needed to be replaced. The panel came with the microwave door about a month after it was ordered. The gas range - which is supposed to be the flagship product for Viking - also required repair. The oven would not ignite consistently and would fill my home with noxious gas that had to be aired out. (The service technician found that the ignitor was too far from the heating element, which is why the oven wouldn’t light.) There are no bells and whistles on this range, which I knew when I bought it, so one would think it would do the one thing it is capable of doing... lighting... and it couldn’t even do that without a service call. Now the refrigerator is sounding alarms randomly and indicates that our freezer is varying temperatures, as high as 55 degrees. There is no way to disable the alarm and it has taken more than a week to get a service call scheduled, which means my family has to endure this loud beeping that goes off all day and night. To make matters worse, we have a special needs child who is terrified of alarms so this has been particularly distressing to him. Due to whatever error the freezer is experiencing, the compressor runs so much that our food in the fridge is freezing. I have had to throw out a bunch of produce, like apples, pears, lettuce, etc., because of the extreme cold in the fridge. Given we have only had these appliances for two months and experienced problems with all four of them, I would say I am extremely disappointed in Viking’s quality. Their service has been terrible, too. Despite multiple attempts to contact someone at Viking who can help, we have yet to receive a call back. In the meantime, I’ve had to reach out to multiple appliance repair companies, the retailer where we purchased the appliances, and taken time off work multiple times to have the appliances serviced. Had I known how bad my experience with Viking appliances and arrive would be, I would’ve saved myself the trouble and money and purchased non-“professional” appliances!

Our Viking sealed 6 burner cook top is about 8 or 9 years old. Five of the 6 burners are fine. One burner (front right of course) ignites, but keeps clicking the starter for all 6; after it ignites. Called Viking and then their genuine parts distributor for suggestions and parts. Bought a new sensor (with only comes with ring) for about $90.00 with shipping. Although they wanted me to buy a $50.00 tool to remove/install, I rigged my own special wrench to unscrew and screw in the ring/sensor. In short, the burner does the exact same thing it did before. A lot of time, effort and $90.00 wasted. As an FYI: when we did this kitchen, we also got a Viking built in side by side refrigerator. After 3 defective units in less than 6 months, they gave me my $$ back. All units were bad in multiple ways. Gotta give them credit as they really tried to satisfy my wife and me, but they just could not. I hope I have better luck with this professional style range top. To be continued....

Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

I own Viking Professional cooktop, microwave, double oven and refrigerator with bottom freezer and love all of them. The cooktop is the best 4 burner that I have ever had and the oven bakes everything perfect. The refrigerator had only one problem and that was a recall, on the door hinge which was replaced. I have had them in the home since 2005.

Viking has a long history, good quality, and beauty, so we decided to get a range, and it is superb and beautiful. My wife is in love with it, so’ I’m very jealous of it. We like how it cooks. It’s so even, and it doesn’t need much gas on it. So, it’s a very nice cooking experience. I’m very satisfied with the range. However, I would like to add a thermometer in the oven because we don’t know what the temperature is. We had an electric oven before, and we set it up to a certain temperature and that will do it. However, it is a different experience with gas. So, I dont see a reason why they shouldnt put a thermometer on it. Other than that, the range is very good. And their representatives were wonderful and supportive.

I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.

I heard through a friend that Viking was one of the top tier appliance manufacturers. I looked at pricing versus quality. Vikings was very comparable. I also looked at the name brand and features that were offered. Viking was the way to go. I like that the refrigerator is counter-depth. It really blends in the look with the appearance in my kitchen. It looks like its built in. Its definitely an upgrade to what I had before. You can tell that the refrigerator is high quality. The interactions with the Viking dealer was good, but when they delivered the dishwasher it was damaged. They made good and replaced it with a brand new one though. Id tell friends that Im impressed with Viking and that it definitely is the right way to go.

The refrigerator door fell on my wife out of nowhere when she opened it. But Viking they did an exceptional job in making sure that my wife was okay and that we received a new unit. We couldn’t be happier with their response. I assume it was because of the liability and the potential for an injury. They also probably wanted to prevent that from ever happening again. We have three little kids and God forbid it was one of them who opened those doors. It weighs 150 to 200 pounds fully loaded. Viking said it has apparently never happened before but that can happen with any product. Still, we’re happy with the product, its looks and its performance. We’ve owned the Viking refrigerator for some time now, along with the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher. We have the whole Viking outfit. We also had issues with our oven and our dishwasher and they were diligent on those as well. The fan motor had to be replaced for our oven and they replaced the pump of our dishwasher.

Viking stove should be recalled. Since the first use, we have been having the same problems all of the other people have been having with the stove. It should be recalled because it is a danger to use. Our oven gets so hot that it has melted the stove wires and control box. It has warped our oven door so it doesnt shut all the way, and the heat reflector (not sure if this is correct name) in the bottom of the oven is cracked and buckled. The oven gets so hot that if you touch the outside of it, you will get burned. The oven also fills up with gas and makes a popping sound or just blows the door right open! It scares me with my children if the oven is on. They can get burnt or hurt with the door blowing open. Also, because of the intense heat and the wires melting, the left side of the stove doesnt work.

I own a 6 year old Viking Double Oven. It’s bad enough Viking wouldnt stand behind a heating unit but worse, we missed the complete Christmas season (our oven died Dec 17) using the oven because Viking didnt have parts in stock to repair the element in the oven. I will miss this Easter as well since the parts wont be in by then. As a cook this is unacceptable to me and Viking’s potential customers should be aware of this. It will have been 4 months for me to receive a new ribbon element with glass part # 013930-000 IF I get it by April. I think Viking potential customers should be aware of the lack of customer service in parts with Viking. Also Viking customer service didnt seem to care about my issue and basically had the too bad for you attitude. We have a 6 burner Viking range top and a Viking double oven in a top end house. If this is Vikings idea of customer service for premium clients I will take my purchases elsewhere in the future. Buyers beware.

However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault. They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.

I was putting in a high-end kitchen and purchased all Viking products. Theyre industrial feeling. I like the size and capacity of the refrigerator. I also like the way it looks and the ability for it to be built into the kitchen. However, Best Buy managed to make the experience very difficult. There was a significant delay in a lot of the products and they couldnt figure out how to get updates. I ended up finding the 1-800-VIKING number and calling them directly to find out what was going on. I got updates myself because Best Buy acted like their hands were tied in the process. Then Viking doesnt have support and service in my area other than Best Buy to install it, which makes the experience poor. So, even when I got my refrigerator installed, Best Buy acted like they werent gonna be able to do it. They gave me a hard time about it ‘cause I didnt have cabinets in that they wanted. I had to escalate it just to get them to install it. It was so troublesome. I had the same issue with the hood for my range. But Best Buy ended up compensating me by giving complimentary five-year warranties on all my products. They also gave me a free range for about three months during the delay of the range from Viking because the delivery deadline was so different than what they originally communicated to me. They redeemed themselves, but it doesnt change their inability to deal with the process during the process.

13 years ago, when we built our house, we bought a Viking refrigerator. About two years ago, we put $1100 into it because it quit working. The guy said it was better than new then about three months ago the refrigerator door fell off. They gave us a whole new one so now I have a new Viking Refrigerator. However, I dont like it as well as my old one because I dont think it holds as much. And already, the plastic is cracked in one of the drawers and I dont know how it happened. We had that problem with the old one, but not this soon. The drawer in the new unit is not extra full, it goes in by itself, and you just give it a little shove and it slides in. I like that feature and its better for me. But my other one have more of a tall shelf on one side so taller things would fit like a wine bottle say and its pretty. Their reps are very nice and they were very good about getting us a new refrigerator. When our refrigerator door fell off, luckily it only grazed my husband. It hit him on the shoulder but he was walking away from it. But it did damage my covered and wood floor. Theres also a big gouge out of my cabinet doors which Ive had somebody come to look at and theres no way that it can be fixed. It has to be replaced. Some of the boards on the floor have to be replaced too which means that they have to redo my whole floor because its an open hardwood floor. In their email to us, Viking said that they wanted our homeowners to do it. I checked with my homeowners and found that its going to raise my insurance. We have a $1500 deductible. So Im in the process of getting bids to send to Viking. Im not happy about that part of it and if it had hurt my husband worse, theyd have a lawsuit on their hands. Also, I feel that we werent notified of this problem with the Viking and were lucky there wasnt any grandkids here.

The dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and 6 burner dual fuel range are not worth the money I spent. I would absolutely not recommend Viking appliances to anyone. Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

This house has a built-in Viking refrigerator and on the right is the all-freezer. The refrigerator is loud and the compressor was constantly running so the previous owner of this home had to have it replaced under warranty in 2016, which was only a year after he bought it. When we purchased the house in August 2017, and just before we closed escrow, he had to call Viking to get service because the temperature of the refrigerator was not keeping cold and there was a leak in the coil. The appliance is relatively new and that worries me but so far, the refrigerators been keeping cold so I’m thankful for that. But I am surprised at the compressor noise and we live in a development where the builder got Viking for all the units. I looked at several units when I was purchasing and I noticed the same noise in every kitchen because the floor plans are similar. It’s quite loud and it’s not infrequent. I even talked to the owner in one of the homes and she had changed out the Viking for a Wolf refrigerator. She said she did it because the Viking was so loud. Also, at first I was worried that there was a problem, but I looked at the freezer temperature and it’s constant at what it should be used. It just runs hard and it’s very sad to me because I’m going to end up having to replace it at some point. The refrigerators features are reasonable, but for that kind of investment, I would never buy one of this. I have an experience with a built-in Thermador and that has superior quality compared to this Viking.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Theres also supposed to be a thing inside where we never have to clean it. Id like my refrigerator to last longer than 15 years because its expensive. Thats like 1,000 a year when you add it up and I dont wanna have to pay that for a refrigerator. They said that the new one supposedly is gonna be lasting longer. Im hoping thats true and so far, it seems to be fine.

We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasnt tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and its taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then Ill hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I cant feel whether Im pushing it in or not and the turning isnt as smooth. Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail. But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. Im having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. Theyre all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

The oven will intermittently not cycle and reignite to maintain temperature. The range is now nearly the end of the warranty and replacement parts, motherboard, and gas valve have been on backorder for months. After numerous calls to the authorized service center over the past two and a half years, the problem is getting worse. Just last Saturday, a family dinner was ruined because the range shut off and refused to reignite. The next day, no problem, the oven fired right up. Overall we are very disappointed in the lack of quality, value, reliability, and factory support. We would not recommend purchasing Viking products, and will not in the future.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

They sent several technicians out several times to replace its parts but they never fixed it so they replaced it. I was extremely happy with how their customer service handled the situation. In the year 2000 my husband and I bought a home and shortly after began an extensive and costly kitchen remodel. We spared no expense and believing we were buying the best, we bought a Viking refrigerator. In hindsight, it was our worst decision. Almost from the very beginning we began having problems. The ice maker stopped working, the door accessories and drawers began to crack to the point that one of the condiment containers has a huge hole on the bottom rendering it totally unusable. Certainly not the quality youd expect from such expensive appliances. When food started spoiling we knew we had a big problem and called Viking for help. By then, of course, warranty had expired but they recommended a local service company. By the third visit with no resolution we knew we were dealing with an incompetent repairman and my husband, at this point beyond frustrated, practically threw him out of our home. We never got any satisfaction from Viking. And its incomprehensible to me that after spending thousands of $$$ on a beautiful, state-of-the-art refrigerator I am forced to make ice in plastic ice cube trays and keeping milk, cheese, cold cuts and veggies in my old GE in the basement because the temp is never cold enough no matter how we adjust the settings. Last night I opened the door to put something away and felt warm air. The Viking finally conked out. So, this morning my husband and I are debating who to call. And as I google Viking, I came across your reviews and, can I say, I am shocked by the hundreds of negative stories I have spent over 2 hours reading, stories so similar to mine. So now I dont know what to do. Do I dare spend possibly $1,500-2,000 in repairs which may or may not fix the problem or do I ditch the Viking and take the loss? One of our dilemma is that our kitchen was totally custom therefore the Viking is tightly wall mounted with molding and trim all around. Would I be able to find a non-Viking refrigerator that would fit the same dimensions? I am so angry. This is certainly not what one would expect from a company like Viking. I am open to join a class action suit.

I am extremely frustrated with my viking appliances. We saved a long time to purchase the best I thought at the time to be viking. I purchased the microwave, dishwasher, and range. From the very first month I had nothing but problems!! I have never been able to use the stove. It had to be repaired from day one. Cant bake cookies - one side is done, the other burnt. What is sad is that I a have brand new stove and cant use it. Last Thanksgiving I had a half done turkey with 20 people waiting to eat dinner. This is after it was repaired for the 5th time. Now it is Thanksgiving again and I cant use my brand new stove and have to go rent one because my Stove is not working again. The repairman informed me that the part had to be back ordered. Are they Kidding!! With a company their size and how expensive their unusable appliances are, you would think they would have a little replacement part that they could fed-ex the next day especially when they know it is close to a holiday, especially Thanksgiving. The microwave didnt work either and had to be replaced and it still doesnt work, it continually kicks a breaker. We have lived in our house 20 years and never had a breaker problem with our old microwave. Also the knobs on the front of the stove are a fire hazard, if someone even brushes up against them they will turn on. Afraid for the kids.. I would like to take my overly expensive VIKING APPLIANCES that are nothing but junk straight to the city dump. I would NEVER purchase anything that is VIKING again!

Their team was very good. But the refrigerator broke within a few months of installing it. The ice maker went out on it and I some trouble adjusting the doors. Theres not enough throw in the adjustment screws to be able to get the doors to sit perfectly square. When I talked to the folks about it on the Viking helpline, we did everything they said. Its just outside of the adjustment cycle of the screw so, its a little bit crooked. So, I had to have some warranty work done to it and they were pretty quick on the warranty stuff. I have Viking refrigerator (48 by 84) with a diagnostic of internal leak made by authorized expert. Non-repairable. Still under the warranty (12 years sealed system). Viking Service Manager at the distribution center received the experts report on August 29, 2013, but ignored it. After I contacted them on September 23, 2013, they started to interpret the warranty in different ways. Also told me to contact Viking customer service by the phone. I stay without a fridge till now. I had a meeting with the Service Manager. He apologized for the delay (about a month!) and asked to wait again. To show his work he provided me with the email sent by him to the Regional Service Manager and the reply. General idea - lets make her go back and forth while we get Viking on the same page. Then offer her to buy a replacement unit at 6160 + 15% tax, 50% of the actual retail price.

Ive known Viking for decades. They were offering a rebate on the refrigerator so I went with them. I also had a free refrigerator and the range hood with blower, which made my purchase more enticing. Without them, I might have bought the unit from Sub-Zero and Wolf. I bought it from the Better Housekeeping over in Red Bank and the people I have dealt with were great. But the unit has a poor design and if I had to do it again, I will not purchase this refrigerator. The spring on one of the doors has a sound and the ice tray was poorly made because on the first week I pulled it out and the handle snapped right off. The magnet of the butter tray on top isnt good and every time I pull the refrigerator, if I have a stick of butter inside, it falls out. Also, compared to a regular KitchenAid, which are the deeper refrigerators, Viking units are more counter depth, so in terms of storage there isn’t a lot of cubic feet in there to use. With my particular model, there are four trays for produce and those trays are much smaller so I can’t really put a lot of stuff in there.I also have the Professional Series for the oven, which is the one with the French door. Even though it’s a beautiful look, it’s really stupid that it’s said to be self-cleaning but because there’s no latch for the French doors, it’s not the same kind of self-cleaning at the lower oven. It’s just like a steam clean kind of effect and stuff like grease doesnt come off. I also already had a problem with our blower on the fan where it was making a lot of noise and I’ve already had a service call on it. So to spend what I totally paid, which is at $25,000 for my entire kitchen, I really shouldn’t be expecting or experiencing problems like these within the first year. These are high-end products, and it’s a professional series, so it’s very disappointing.

Cracked butter covers, drawers that crack and fall off the track, track that wont support drawers, cracked freezer interior lining, ice maker issues, drain issues. We purchased a 30 inch Viking Gas Range about 5 years ago and were so impressed with it we bought their dishwasher 2 years later. What a mistake. The dishwasher was very quiet and we did not realize the pump was running continuously. The electric bill soared and we finally realized it was running. I called Viking to find local service and they tried to send me to a repair service about 100 miles from where I live. When we found the local authorized repair service they pulled it out and found a very small moisture sensor in the bottom tray under the dishwasher was to blame. The repairman could not get any information on when Viking could send the part. When I followed up directly with Viking parts, I was told they would get back to me, but never did. I was eventually told by Vikings authorized repairman to throw it out. $2,400 for a 3 year old dishwasher and it was useless. I replaced it with a Bosch. Now it is the gas range. The oven wont light, the burners wont light first time and the grill goes out. We replaced the electronic thermostat ($378) and it initially worked, but has now reverted to pumping gas into the house without ignition or resignation if we manage to get it going. Viking neither stands behind their products nor have a value even close to their costs. They could give these things away free and they would not be worth the risk to life.

My 36 gas range is 10 years old and the oven has never operated properly. I was told that the gas smell was because our propane was running low. The oven takes forever to come to temp. Now the oven is shot and Viking will not stand behind their product. The gas company came to my house last week and I discovered that two of the ignitors do not work. The heat shield is warped and split on the one side because that ignitor was working so hard on that side. The porcelain is chipped at the back of the oven. There are small holes in the burners, hence the gas leak. And if that is not enough, the springs on the door are not working. I sent pictures to Viking and their reply was, Sorry but here is the name of the repair company in my area (three hours away) and they can fix these problems as long as I pay in advance of their service call. Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesn’t have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didn’t do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasn’t going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People don’t generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.

If you are considering a Viking appliance RUN away as fast as you can! This
If you are considering a Viking appliance RUN away as fast as you can! This is the 3rd built in refrigerator/freezer I’ve had installed and what a nightmare it’s been working with the Viking company! Awful to say the least. This 3rd built in was installed 5 years ago and now both voltage boards have died. The serviceman just told me that one of the boards, the main one that runs everything, is on back order! Oh how I’ve been down this road before with Viking when they installed the 2nd piece of crap that did the exact same thing but only after 2 months of having it installed. It took over 3 months of pulling my hair out before I had a refrigerator/freezer that worked. Because that same board was on back order and they didn’t know when it would be available and because it was under warranty I demanded a new refrigerator/freezer as that’s why a 3rd one was installed. I wrote the company explaining all the problems and grief I went through and asked for an extended warranty. I received a letter from Viking telling how sorry they were about all the problems but SORRY we cannot extend the warranty. I received NO compensation from this ** hole of a company! They truly DON’T care about their customers!!! Run I say, RUN. Can’t wait to see how long it will take before I have a working refrigerator/freezer again!
