I like the Viking range and the open burner design. I do a lot of stovetop cooking and I didn’t want all of the electronics. However, I’ve had a lot of problems with the oven. But then Viking has addressed them accordingly and the dealer took care of everything right away.
My experience with the refrigerator purchased from Viking has been a huge disappointment. Since my purchase I have had over 15 service calls on my frig. Although Ive contacted Viking to express my frustration, the best I get from their service department---- is well nothing! Since my warranty has expired they no longer care that the product is defective. I wanted to send the service records to show that we have had problems day one but they refused. You would think that an 8,000 dollar refrigerator would have been built better---not the case. I will never buy another Viking product!
Purchased this 36 gas range in 2006 for over $6k. A week before Christmas, it broke down. Several parts were replaced by a reputable, local repair firm, but the key one is PJ030015, the 6 prong selector switch was not available. Called Viking and was told it has been discontinued since 2016. The customer service person kept telling me that sales had specials going on so I should contact them. Asked her if she would replace a $6k range because a $100 part wasnt available. This is totally unacceptable. The company should have an solution for this other than check eBay and Craigslist. For Petes sake, go to China and get some built. So, buyer beware. A good company would not do this for a product that is not that old nor inexpensive.
We were looking at all the high end range brands and went into Best Buy and had a look at Viking. We liked what we saw and the price was more economical for the quality that we get compared to the others. We had a very good sales rep who was able go into detail about a Viking range and what to expect from it versus a lower end priced brand. He explained things like how to clean the oven and how high heat with the self-cleaning ovens would typically end up destroying the integrity of the inside enameling. He gave a variety of information about little details that we would not think of.We got the series 5 which is easy to clean and does not deteriorate compared to the standard stove. It also cooks differently as theres an even heat. Plus, it also comes with the pull-out drawer in the oven which I love. My only two gripes is my particular series doesn’t come with a timer where I can time the temperature within the oven or have a timer right there on my stove if I’m baking a cake. We went back a second time looking for the timer and the salesman said it’s been discontinued and was only available to a certain model. The other one is I can’t seem to remove any stains from the golden-looking metal that extrudes from the surface of the stove top where the burner is without scratching it. I’ve used soap and water and I’m afraid to do anything else because I don’t wanna destroy the surface. Other than those, it’s a nice-looking range.
My Viking range is a well-made product and it looks great. And while its kind of shocking how heavy it is, everything is working great on it. I really like the induction in terms of speeding and also, it is fairly quick at heating things up and turning things fast. So, its nice and seems to be a little bit cleaner in terms of the heating element and keeping the top clean. The only thing is I cant see where theres a built-in timer in there. Luckily, I have the microwave over the oven, so Im able to use a timer on top of the range. But if I didnt have the microwave, itd be more of an issue.
I had nothing but headaches with my Viking Refrigerator because of the little thing at the top for ventilation. The guy installed it too far to one way. He acted like he knew what he was doing and as though it was no problem. He took the tape off, and put it all the way to the right when it should’ve been centered up. The guy from Pac Sales says they’re not going to do anything about it. I said, “I’m an older person. I can’t take it off.” We’ve got to pull the refrigerator out and the thing at the top. My real dilemma is that they want me to take it off, take it down to the store and get the new one to put it back on. The lady says, “Well, why don’t you hire a handyman to do that?” I go, “A handyman? That’s gonna cost me money to have a handyman take this off.” I felt very dissatisfied with that situation. I like the refrigerator and how it’s keeping certain things cold. Its roomy with lots of different compartments. Its really nice and looks beautiful. My favorite feature would be the ice deal because I can just scoop it out. But I’m having a problem with the filler thing, that I feel I’ve been gypped. I should’ve been more assertive towards the salesman and the others. I was lost in the delivery and now I’m at odds with them to have it fixed. Viking should have some very faint lines from the top of the refrigerator where they should’ve had the insert.
Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. It’s the third icemaker that’s been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didn’t get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.
Our last refrigerator didnt last very long. It was off square and Viking determined that it was dropped during delivery and they wouldnt take responsibility for it. They didnt stand behind their warranty. They passed it off to the delivery instead of trying to help me out after as much as I had spent on it. So we had to buy a new one. So far, its working but it has squeaky doors which makes me think theres some issue with the alignment.
I’ve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a baker’s oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I can’t seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because it’s induction. I can’t seem to get used to it and I’m having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesn’t get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, I’m not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. It’s very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, it’s a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldn’t have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didn’t have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. We’re talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldn’t have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. I’m a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that there’s not much they can do.
When we went to the store here, we were going to try and get a Viking stove. We had to get a Wolf. We were looking at a refrigerator, too, and when we saw the Viking refrigerator, we thought it looked cool, so we got it as well. It’s expensive and costs more than a regular refrigerator, but its nice. We like the look and the layout - the top and bottom with two doors on the top. It feels kind of solid, plus, we like the way it lights up on the inside when we open the door. We also like the dashboard in the inside of the door where we could look at all the different stuff we could do. Weve only had it a short time and so far, so good. We got a Sub-Zero in our other house and it’s comparable to that.
When I bought the house, a Viking range was already here. I had to have a repair done on it and they quickly put me in touch with the service repair person in my area. They seem very professional. The repair person then came out and replaced the door because it’s not shutting correctly. He then told me to use the self-clean feature because that would warp the door and burn off the electricals. The quality of this range is good overall, and the big gas burner in the middle is my favorite.
I like to cook and I liked the look and feel of an industrial kitchen. Ive seen Viking ranges in other apartments. I read that they are quality stoves and ranges so I purchased one. Ive only had mine for a month and I like certain things about it. The stovetop is great. The heat and the flames are instantaneous and the igniters are quick. The temperature levels are really high. In that regard, its been good to cook on. But the oven is a big down point since its not working. Its a big part of the unit. Theres somethings wrong with the igniter. Its clicking a lot and its not getting to temperature. I spoke with somebody yesterday and the interaction was fine. I felt like I achieved what I was trying to do. But I havent heard back from anybody about making the appointment so somebody can come and look at the oven. They hire out locally. The range is under warranty but I didnt expect that a month in, I would have any work on it. I feel like I got a machine that isnt functioning. You could buy a way less expensive stove and probably have a more reliable oven. Overall, I have a beautiful looking range that performs well on the top but in regard to the oven not working, its not good for cooking.
I absolutely love the Viking range. Besides the look, I love the cooktop in it. I ordered extra racks and got all the rollout racks, which I love for baking multiple sheets of cookies at one time. I also love all the different ranges that you can put your oven on with the convection, which can be the low, the medium, or the high. It gives you so many options. All the burners come off so nicely and I havent had problems cleaning it. People should get Viking if they were thinking about it.
In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.
I went to Barry’s Appliance in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and they had all different brands on there. I liked the style of the Viking range. It looked nice. I thought it fit well in my kitchen that we had just put in. We got the hood, and it was very good. I like the convection oven a lot and the quality of the range is excellent. However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. He was there for three or four hours and I haven’t had problems since. My experience with Vikings is great and I would recommend the Viking range.
Viking creates a great product that is sturdy and outperforms other high-end ranges. After buying a Thermador Range that underperformed at every turn and which seemed to be made out of low-quality steel which caught on fire due to a door switch issue, we decided to buy a Viking dual fuel range. What a wonderful experience we have had not just with the product but also with the customer service, which was sorely lacking with Thermador. Thanks for making a superb product!
I’m in real estate and I see Viking refrigerators at homes and I thought they were consistent kind of somewhat to Sub-Zero, but they’re horrible. The fridge keeps breaking as far as the doors and the cooling system and the ice machine doesn’t work. I made lots of phones calls and I’ve been talking to their customer service team several times. They ordered the parts that were in back order and took months to get here. The first time something broke, I was without the doors and the condiment shelving for about three months. And when I called, they said they’re still in back order and they couldnt tell me when they’d get here. Finally, they got here. And a month later, two more things broke. The cooling system has broken twice and the freezer stopped cooling once. And then I had to wait for parts for that to come in. I lost hundreds of money in food over the several times when it was broken and we didn’t have a fridge. It’s a really bad experience with the quality of the product, customer service and repairs. They should have items in stock that don’t take three to four months to get, especially when I’m spending $13,000 on a refrigerator. The timeframe to get the part or get the service company to come out is pretty frustrating overall. And they need to improve the product. I would not recommend it to anybody.
We at Hickam Communities is a military housing community. When I talked to the residents on Friday afternoon, the Viking refrigerator was installed Thursday. They are very happy that it worked and everything is working properly. I talked to Kevin, the director of the installation, and we love working with him and his team. He’s very punctual, he understands the needs that we have being a military community. Its amazing. I was also gonna follow up with him and let him know that we didn’t have any issues this weekend with the refrigerator and that everything’s been good. Having the Viking team and Ferguson for the installation has been incredible. We’ve changed the time on the last minute and everybody has been super accommodating. We couldn’t have picked a better installation team and company to get the refrigerator from.
We have used Viking products in the past and really liked it. We have a Viking range and an oven, a cooktop stove, and a microwave so we got a refrigerator and it matched everything else. Weve been using it for about a month now and so far, its good. The experience is absolutely great. Its pleasurable and hassle-free. The only thing is its not the easiest thing in the world to level in comparison to any other fridge that Ive had. But its not that big of a deal and we got it leveled. Other than that, everything is absolutely fantastic.
The first person we dealt with at the Viking dealer was really bad at his job. He only did the bare minimum for customer service and didnt really care about it. The second was fantastic, though. She was attentive, helpful and did what we needed to get done with the same information that was provided to the first guy. Weve had a good experience with them. The repair company that they referred to us came out the next day to repair our freezer after the other repair company could come only after two weeks. Its really nice that we were given accommodations. Now its done so thats great. However, the refrigerator is very shallow. It needs to be deeper so it can fit more stuff but other than that, its great. Im very satisfied with my Viking experience. Theyre easy to work with and I appreciate the above and beyond customer service.
The refrigerator is stainless steel. It fits in the space. It keeps things cold and it makes ice. When I had a lower shelf that was unglued, Viking sent somebody out under warranty to replace the shelf and its been fine. The technician was responsive. He was on time and he got the problem fixed right away.
I have been using a Viking range for a month. Its a good quality brand. I like the price too. The salesperson at the appliances store was knowledgeable in general. While its plain, it looks nice.
We had a tricky experience with Viking and we are still hoping for help. The builder, whom we bought the home from, selected Viking appliances. It is a brand new beautiful home but our refrigerator just freezes all the food. It is not consistently cooling in a way that a high-quality refrigerator should. It is brand new so we are miserable and it has been a terrible experience. The refrigerator is vital because we had to throw out groceries through the holidays. We’ve lost food and have lost much money. On the other hand, the range is fine but it’s not something I can really grieve about. The Viking dealer gave us a number for a local person to come look at it. The first person never called us back so we called Viking back. They assigned a second person and the second person came out and told us that they do not know what was wrong. He also told us that Viking told them that they should counsel customers to keep all the things to the front of the refrigerator. It was ridiculous. It was so bad and negative and we were really frustrated because we did not even know. We are not difficult customers on any level and so we’re so sad because this is the first time we bought a brand new home with new appliances and we have not been able to get a resolution. I have been calling Viking probably under 10 times and I’ve called the local repair people a few times as well but nobody came up with a solution. Viking told us to listen to whatever the repair people say. Also, to wait and do it and see what happens. No one really seems to care. We got a lemon and Viking isn’t owning up to it yet. We’re just sitting, waiting, and throwing away food that it’s horrible.
Our builder used Viking Refrigerators and weve had several issues with our refrigerator. Weve had to have it serviced at least three times possibly for it was freezing up. Nevertheless, weve had fine interactions with the service person. Fortunately, everything has been completed under warranty because otherwise, we would have been very upset.
I like the look of my Viking refrigerator and I’m very happy with its performance. It keeps the temperature well and if I keep the door open too long, an alarm sets off. Viking has a very good warranty program too. I had a couple issues with my Viking oven and they sent a repairman under warranty immediately and fixed whatever the issue was at no cost. I would tell my friends that it would be a wise decision to purchase a Viking.
I need someone to come and look at my Viking refrigerator ‘cause a couple of buttons outside are not working. The temperature management is not working. I can’t adjust it. But I like the style of the refrigerator and the way it looks. The lighting is pretty cool too.
We liked what we had heard about Viking then we have a friend that put in a Viking and we liked the setup of it. We got the built-in refrigerator and its not as deep as a regular refrigerator, which we like because things dont get lost in the back of it, but its taller. We like the door, the freezer section in the bottom, and the way that the drawers are self-closing. We can arrange them to where we have a place at the bottom that we can put platters into or a pizza box or whatever we want to. We also like the fact that everything was made out of metal. Aside from the refrigerator, we also got the French door double oven, the six burner cooktop with the griddle and thee optional griddle, the vent hood, two warming drawers, and a microwave, from Viking. We love the quality of our Viking appliances and we would recommend them highly.
We needed a new fridge, and we heard that Viking was a good model, so we decided to buy it. But ever since we’ve had it, it has been giving us nothing but a problem. We’re working with Best Buy to have it replaced as soon as they can get us a different model or unit, not even Viking. The compressor seems to be humming a lot louder and unusually higher. So it’s this annoying, high-pitched hum that we constantly hear. Also, the alignment of the bottom freezer drawer is a bit off. They tried to replace it with different Viking units from different warehouses, but all of the refrigerators had the exact same problem. So we did not go with a replacement, and we came to a mutual decision that we’re gonna have the Viking taken back by Best Buy and have it replaced by a completely different brand. We got the 36-inch freestanding unit and it is absolutely not one I would recommend. Best Buy asked us to reach out to the manufacturer directly, and they came over and saw the unit, and they didn’t really do anything. They told us that they were not gonna be able to help or do anything here and that we just have to talk to Best Buy. So while they were polite, they were utterly useless.
Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.
We want to have high end appliances and our refrigerator choice were between Viking and Wolf. But we felt Viking was more professional grade, so we went with it. Its overall quality was good, but the door was not aligned when they were delivered. So we had to follow up, and they brought a technician through the dealer to readjust the door. I was disappointed about that and I was not 100% satisfied. But in terms of the condition, its working fine, so Im good. So far, my experience with them was satisfactory and their product looks dependable.
Our Viking Range is beautiful and it cooks very well. It actually cooks quicker than my former range. It looks very nice to the eye and thats really why we chose our specific model. However, our door isnt level. The right side of the door sticks out further than the left side. So, the light is often on.
The Viking fridge is great. We like the size of it and it seems to keep everything consistently cool. Weve only had it for about a year and weve had to replace a few of the lights on it. We did a service maintenance call because the light had gone out and that was great. But weve had another issue with our stovetop on the range. One of the burners isnt working and weve had trouble getting that fixed because theres apparently somebody else registered for the same unit.
When we decided to purchase a new fridge, there were only a couple of choices - GE, Sub-zero and Viking, so I went with the better choice. We also got a Viking dishwasher, stove and hood, and so far, they have been okay. But we had a problem with the freezer down below. Someone came and fixed it, but it took a long time. Other than that, its still in good shape and its doors are nice. Ive had other brands and the Vikings quality seems okay. I wouldve preferred to have a mostly full refrigerator and a small freezer, and didnt wanna have one with a freezer below because the ice maker was also below, and I dont freeze a lot of stuff. But this particular Viking fridge came like that.
My wife and I liked the cabinetry that was in the house that we purchased except the refrigerator was a KitchenAid counter-depth. We wanted a new one but the cabinetry kinda limited us on the size because it has room for a 48-inch wide counter-depth refrigerator only. So, we went looking and KitchenAid Sub-Zero had a very solid name. Its made locally here in Chicago and it was a top consideration. However, their pricing wasn’t as favorable as the Viking which we felt had the same features and has as good a name as the Sub-Zero. So, we decided to go ahead with Viking because with them, we were able to save a little bit of additional money. Also, when we bought it, the original kitchen was done in white appliances and we decided we wanted to go with the stainless steel look to get a little more modern look. But it required a new built-in oven and a new refrigerator. And with the deal that was going on for the Viking, if you bought the oven and the refrigerator, you got a free dishwasher. So, that was another reason why the Viking brand stood out for us at the time.So far, its has a very solid refrigeration and it’s got a nice ventilation system that if there’s something that’s going bad, the whole refrigerator doesnt necessarily smell bad. It also has this great little spot on the bottom where you could put a pizza box which, with the depth of a refrigerator, is not an easy thing and it’s kinda out of the way. So, that’s a nice little feature. I like the style of the coolers as well and the fact that the drawers have an automatic soft close. So, Ive been pretty darn happy with our Viking refrigerator. We’d gone to Abt Electronics which is local here and he go-to place in Chicago. We ended up looking again online just to see what was available and found a place called the Appliance Connection. Theyre out in New York and they also sell very similar high-end appliances. And because of what the end process was gonna be, we ended up going with the Appliance Connection. It was over $1,000 that we were gonna be able to save by utilizing them as compared to using Abt. However, the delivery took over six weeks and when they delivered it, they sent two guys. But the refrigerator that we purchased weighs 500 pounds. It’s a heavy refrigerator and the two guys who delivered it said that they couldnt put in in our house. But we told them that we paid for it to go into our house. They ended up having to send another crew out three weeks later to finally get it into the house. It became a pretty big fiasco as far as we were concerned. Also, on the day that were supposed to come out, they said they were gonna be there then, apparently, their dispatch had given them a bad address or the one appointment took longer than it was supposed to, so they didn’t show on the day that they were supposed to come. All in all, I don’t think I’d ever buy from them again. But it was nothing that Viking had done. As a matter of fact, I went to Viking and complained about Appliance Connection being a reseller of their product and the next day, I was getting a manager’s call from the Appliance Connection to try and make things right. So, Viking did everything they could to try and make it as good as possible. Also, the refrigerator is in now as well as the oven. They are both great and Im very happy with them. Viking also has a great name in ranges and stoves and the double oven we got from them fit the spot. It works well and looks good. It’s very nice and phenomenal. The oven and the refrigerator are pretty close together and my wife didn’t want two different looks. She didnt want the handles to be off, for the color of the stainless steel to be slightly different, or even for the grain of the stainless steel to be slightly different. So, when you’ve decided that youre gonna go with that oven, it pushes you to go for the refrigerator as well.
I would say that the experience with this product is very poor. The worst! Oven igniters have failed 5 times! It burnt/deformed the burner tubes 5 times! I need to replace it at least every 20 months! Oven hinges operate very poorly! Many times on lighting, the oven door has blown open! This is a total junk for over $6,500! Pass the word to stores not to market the Viking Brand! What a junk!
We built a new home in 2011 and cook and bake regularly. Wanted what we thought were the BEST Appliances in the world but to our surprise the refrigerator and the dishwasher are the WORST!!! Our warranty ran out in August 2014. I called Viking to help us with the cost of the computer board in the refrigerator that doesnt work which means my refrigerator and freezer do not stay cold. The dishwasher takes hours to go through the shortest cycle, horrible! Shame on VIKING for not standing behind their product. I would not recommend anyone to purchase Viking Products.
Im sitting here frustrated and angry as my Viking refrigerator has done the same thing as the person who reviewed before me. As of the other day I heard a grinding noise and now my food was all thawed in the freezer and my refrigerator does not seem to be cold. I cant tell you the amount of times this refrigerator (in fact my VIKING trash compactor, gas cooktop and refrigerator) have been serviced over the years. I would never purchase another VIKING appliance based on my experience. I know the repair folks are happy for the business but each time they come out I cringe as VIKING repair parts are as outrageously priced as their appliances!
We owned a Viking beforehand. However, when we went into their store, we were not going to consider them. But we changed our mind and continued to use the brand because we were convinced by the sales rep that they had done some serious improvements in the product and that we should always consider them. Also, we were impressed by what we saw. The Viking team was excellent as well. They had the patience to work through all my wife’s questions and issues since she was the one that needed to be comfortable that we were making the right decision and that Viking had all the right stuff that she wanted. However, the drawers were supposed to be self-closing, but they don’t close. The repair guy was here for that and for the oven.
Do not buy. We purchased a Viking Cooktop and Wall oven 7 years ago. We believed we were paying for top of the line equipment. Within two years the lettering that identifies the temperature settings on both wall oven and cooktop had worn off. Now, the only way to know what temperature youre cooking on is by looking at the manual for reference. We spoke with Viking and they said this is not covered under any warranty because its cosmetic. If you are looking for quality in product and customer service, keep looking. Very, very disappointed in how they stand behind their very expensive product.
We just received a new Viking VDR5486GSS $13,419 dollar 48 Inch 5 Series Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Freestanding Range and we can’t even use it. Right from the factory it has two left the burners that leak gas, a main door oven that’s out of alignment and can’t be realigned as per service tech and a middle support piece that was missing screws and bent in. Called Viking and they are closed until January 2 which has ruined our Christmas and New Years plans. Then the 3rd party service company that does warranty work ** says the part will not be in until February yet the Viking rep I spoke to says all the ten parts are in stock but their company is closed until January 2nd. Customer service was nice and tried to get the parts expedited but failed to tell me that the 3rd party service provider needed to put the order in before 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 20 because they closed the warehouse on Dec 21st.We just tried to bake biscuits in what is supposed to be the only working part, the oven in plain old bake mode. The top heating element comes on which burned the biscuits. The user manual shows that only the bottom element is supposed to come on. Extremely disappointed in this product and I just want to throw it in the trash as that is where it belongs. Something that costs $13,419 before tax should not have these rudimentary quality control issues. The Viking employees that built this trash should be ashamed of themselves! I can get a better quality product from the Big Box stores for a fraction of the cost.
We recently purchased a home....both beverage fridges do not work. The previous owner is thankfully replacing them. Also had to have the main fridge fixed. We were told by local appliance store that the mother board and condenser have both been replaced on this fridge. The gas stove top is terrible....the knobs fall off and stick, the burners do not give equal gas distribution. All of the appliances are less than 8 years old. $8400 for the main fridge. $2200 for each beverage Centre....and lord knows how much for the gas stove range top. I would never ever shop Viking. Buyer beware....fancy name and reputation but terrible products and costly to repair.
I have a Viking kitchen. I've had a Viking refrigerator in my house for about 20 years. It lasted 18 years before I needed some work. And then, that lasted for another couple of years. I was good with it. It went bad, so I needed a new one. However, I'm rather disappointed that the warranty service happened. The issue was the fridge wouldn't hold temperature. It took about a month and a half. But the tech did a really good job. It has only been a month or two since the repair, but so far, so good. He added refrigerant. He couldn't find the leak. So if the leak is somewhere hidden, it would recur. I like the fridge when it works.
Bought a four burner stove top oven and microwave/oven. Microwave: Spring in handle broke, touch screen face faded, Viking logo smeared all over the front of microwave. The microwave completely died. Stove top: Impossible to get even flame, difficult to cook on low flame without annoying loud clicking sound. Spend your money elsewhere!
Friends who had Viking in the past had good things to say. But it was the quality and the nice looks of it that made me decide to go with them. However, I was surprised that the hinges on the door had to be replaced so soon. The oven is about three and a half years and their warranty was only three years. The dealer was great though. When they called, they were engaged and got back to me right away. The oven is great. It has a good temperature and it feels very durable. Overall, I had a good experience with Viking. Ill definitely call them again if I ever should.
Im a hobby chef and I like the Viking we have in some vacation homes, the more expensive ones. And I love the old ones. 10 years old, 15 years old, or brand new. A Viking is a Viking. Im very happy with my Viking range. I have the 8-burner range with the dual oven, all-gas. But the broiler comes on and shuts off after three minutes. So, theyre gonna put a new one in to fix it. Other than that, it has convections, the lights, the temperature control, the small one and the big one, the lights and the knobs. I truly like everything about the range and I will not want anything else. Our Viking Dishwasher is my problem. It has been repaired four times now. They came out as soon as they could. They fixed it and then they had to come back, then they fixed it again. Either they are not very knowledgeable about the dishwasher or the dishwasher really has a serious problem. First, the mechanic was out two times for the lock. Then the dishwasher ran all night twice and the kitchen was really hot and then they put a new electric board, which was underneath the dishwasher. Now, every once in awhile, when I close the door and I want to put the program in, whether pot scrub or normal wash or what, it doesnt come on. You have to do it two or three times. Im not happy with it.
I recently purchased what I thought was a nice used fridge (Viking Designer Series Fridge DDFF136DSS0) from someone only to find out that it most likely has a bad motherboard. It doesnt cool at all and the display on the front shows nothing but a blue screen. The buttons dont do anything except for light up. After researching, apparently these motherboard controls have been failing a lot with these models and Viking charges $1,000 for a new control board. That is insane for something that is failing regularly. For that price and the repair, I might have to just go and buy a new fridge from a different company. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care that Viking has presented in the matter. This is a major problem with Vikings product and they do not care. I commented that I could buy a new fridge for the price of the part and the Viking agent laughed and said, I dont know why you think that, people say that all the time but you cant buy one from us at that price. It was rude. I am extremely disappointed. This was for my family but I am a home remodeller and will not be recommending Viking with this type of repair cost and horrible service.
We had a lot of problems with our old refrigerator. It was a nightmare so I didnt want to buy that same band. I wanted an American made refrigerator so I went through a whole lot of options. We owned other Viking appliances so we looked at them at a store. We bought the Viking ref from an appliance store in Minneapolis. They were very nice. They didnt scratch it during the delivery and the delivery guys were very friendly. There were no issues. The Viking ref is not a regular refrigerator. Its built in so it fits a very specific size and it matches the cupboard, so it cant be easily thrown away. You got to fix them. Another thing I really like about it is I installed it myself and bolted it into the wall. They gave me the directions and showed me where and how to bolt it into the wall. It has a lot of nice lighting. My wife noticed that it doesnt get any mold in it because it has an ozone generator so she doesnt have to sit and clean it up. That is the absolute best feature of the Viking ref. The old ref was always moldy and yucky inside and we hated it. There was no egg holder in the door of the Viking ref. They provided a closed egg container where one had to take it up the shelf, open the cover and take an egg out. That was just a pain. So I made really nice trays that sit in my doors. Viking might want to consider doing that because the other company did that. The ice maker tends to run too much ice that it overflows. When you open up the door it dumps the ice out into the cabinet. But that is little bit of a pain compared to my old refrigerator. Its interesting because its the same exact brand of ice maker my old ref uses. They should improve their icemaker because they buy it from the ice maker company. I hope that Viking is better, but I don’t hold that hope. The most important thing will be to determine how long it lasts without giving us any trouble. They were a good company. Were very happy with the refrigeration from Viking.
We had seen Viking ranges in different homes when we were looking to buy a home. So, when we decided to build a home, we wanted to go ahead with the Viking product because we did a lot of research and we thought it had a lot of good ratings and a lot of customers were happy with the product. We like the features on the Viking and the overall performance was really highly rated. Our builder sent us to the source that he uses, Galleria. It is in Picayune, Mississippi and we went to the store and purchased ours there. Glenda was the lady we dealt with and she was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful. The quality of our range is very nice. We just moved into our new home. I have the owner’s manual sitting by my chair at night but I havent read a whole lot. But what I’ve been using I’ve been enjoying.
We were right in the middle of the start of the virus and our JennAir built-in failed, and I needed to get a refrigerator. Viking was one they had and could deliver. But I would have never bought a Viking refrigerator. It’s not where I think their strength is. They didnt install the fan. We had a water problem on our floor and we had to get the guy out. Ive never had a refrigerator drip water before and these are hardwood floors. They got somebody out there but the tech service guys were very confused with it. The first one didnt know quite how to fix it. It left the factory without the fan hooked up on the bottom. There was a float device that tells it when to turn on the heater, and none of that was hooked up properly. It took two trips to figure that and right now Im still very nervous about it.
Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but thats okay.
I had an old Viking and we had to have it fixed. It was silly to go buy one with the wire, but we couldn’t find anyone to fix a Viking. When we got a new stove, I left it up to my son. We looked at a lot of companies, but he chose the Viking. Its nice and he loves the simmer. He’s happy with the product.
Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.
We had another brand of range initially but it wasn’t performing so we switched to Viking. Weve had the Viking range in our home for two months and weve been enjoying it very much. My wife really likes the way the oven works. We feel very good about the overall quality of the product as well as its cost. But one thing that my wife is missing that was in the other stove is the temperature indicator in the oven. When a certain temperature comes up, the preheat light goes off, but she is used to seeing what the internal temperature is. All in all, though, I’d absolutely recommend the Viking range.
I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.
I went into a model home and compared Viking Refrigerators to Wolf and some other ones. Vikings quality and price were a little bit better so I decided to give it a try. I like the two lower drawers, one for the refrigeration and one for the freezer. However, it takes longer for it to make ice. We also had to get a part replaced because we had some leaking from the freezer. But, we were able to get a repair guy out to handle it during the warranty period. Other than that, everything is fine.
Our Viking range is an older one and has got black porcelain. I dont like that and I rather it be all stainless. Weve gotten some things replaced on it such as the black cover on the range top. Right now, the door springs are broken and the techs are coming tomorrow to fix them. It took way too long to order the parts. I called in June and I still dont have an oven. I have the professional series and I thought it would have been bigger. But I got just a regular sized cookie sheet and it almost scraped the walls of the oven because of the way they have the handles on the edges. I have to get rid of that now and get smaller ones.
Shortly after purchasing my Viking stove, the enamel started peeling off in a number of places. It was awful working with the company. I now have a stove I paid thousands of dollars for that is junk. I also have had igniting problems and temperature discrepancy.
My Viking stove is a nightmare. Firstly one of the gas hobs wouldn’t light properly. Although repaired by Viking it is still temperamental and flares up. But now my door won’t stay closed. The hinges are faulty! This stove is barely used as I travel much. They are less than 2 years old!!! Customer support was horrendous. Back orders for these parts means won’t deliver until sometime in November. Ordered on October 1. The cost is $568.79!!! Are they gold plated??? I did not chose these appliances for my new home. I will NEVER buy their products! This is only one repair company in my entire area that will service them. I wonder why???
We moved into a new house and wanted to get a new cooking range. We bought one from Viking, which is our second Viking range, and its all gas. Its the smallest of the 500 series and 30 inches in size. I like the way it works for the most part and the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of electronics on the front. The soft-closed door and the roller-bearing shelves are nice, too. The quality of our new range is pretty good. However, we’ve had two real and serious issues in the last six weeks that we’ve owned it. The first problem was that the cooling fan had a bad bearing. It was making a total racket and it was an issue right out of the box. But Kimball Electronics, one of Vikings factory authorized dealers, was able to replace the cooling fan. The second issue was that the oven would not light and it was very temperamental about getting the spark for the oven. But Kimball Electronics fixed that this week by putting in a new orifice where the gas comes into the oven and adjusting the air so the spark could ignite without spreading gas all over the kitchen. Kimbal Electroniics have been great and so far, we have been very pleased with Viking. We have been for many years and with our new range. We got the dishwasher special with that as well and the dishwasher has been good, too.
Our 30-inch gas Viking Range has been a total waste of money. First, the door hinges needed replaced, the igniter, the hood, uneven heating, etc. But this week was the last straw. I was baking and I fell ill by the fumes - the nausea was horrible. Shut the oven and called the gas company. They said carbon monoxide made me sick and they took the ranges output measurements of that dangerous gas. The problem was the flame spreader located on the underside of the oven floor. It was bolted and all the bolts came loose - hence the large spreader fell into the flames. This is an atrocity that for the amount paid for a Viking that this design element should last for the life of the range! How many of us take out the oven floor on a regular basis? I would think welding that element to the underside of the floor would work! Viking has been horrible about customer service so I am taking to social media as well. I expect when I pay money for a system that responsible service results and that the item can last. If I could give zero stars on this rating, I would!
I moved into a new house and Viking was part of the appliance package. There was a Viking range and hood but there was no refrigerator, so I got a Viking refrigerator for continuity of the kitchen. The quality of the refrigeration is great and I don’t have any complaints about it. Its lighting is really great. If I nudge the doors though, they dent easily but I’m happy with Viking’s quality.
The developer of the house I was building in South Carolina chose Viking appliances and I was thrilled when that was the choice. Theyre so well built and top of the line. Thus far, Ive had time to play with my Viking Range. With my oven, there is an option to use either standard baking or convection. And so, the popovers that I usually make are ready in half the time and they are perfect. The adjustable oven racks and the fact that the range has six burners have been my favorite features. It has exceeded my expectations.
Bought an induction range from Viking in 2007... terrible experience... Actually I think they replaced some parts that were within the warranty period, with some persuading, but after the third time it broke in 4 years we decided just to throw it away and get a conventional range.
I love my Viking range. What I don’t like about it is when the knobs get a little bit older, the numbers rub off of them, and you cant use it. I never would have bought a Viking because of that reason at all. All my friends that have Viking, once their stove is a couple of years old, you can’t read anything on it. Wherein the Wolf stove, the numbers are embedded into the knobs so even if the paint wears off on them, you still have the numbers. The install of the Viking range was easy. But once it was installed, when I ran the convection fan, it was rubbing into something behind the stove. But the technician tried to come out and fix it to me. The other problem that I noticed with the Viking that Im gonna have to modify was I ordered the extended backsplash for it, and it doesnt fit. It was the proper extended backsplash for it so what I have to do is the stove has to be cut in order to accommodate the bigger backsplash. The backsplash is sitting at my house, unused, because Im going to wait for the factory warranty to expire on this, then Im going to cut the back of the stove and fit it.
We bought a Viking fridge and separate freezer in 2006 when we remodeled our home because they replaced SubZero products and fit into the spaces perfectly. We assumed when you pay for top end products, you get top end products. Instead, we have become used to the freezer leaking onto the floor and a sheet of ice on the bottom shelf. Meanwhile, our fridge has begun acting up and is unable to regulate its temperature. We have been getting up in the middle of the night every night to turn off the alarm and have been dealing with frozen fruit and slushy milk. We called a repairman out who told us the door hinge needs replacing and the door doesnt shut properly, so a couple of sensors now also need replacing. We are facing a $1300 bill for that alone, and also have to pay an installer to come out and re-level the fridge. Because we have a malfunctioning fridge and are trying to operate in a family home, this is an urgent repair for us. Today we found out the parts are backordered and it will be up to six weeks before they arrive. How is a family supposed to manage for six weeks without a properly functioning fridge???We were also told the water lines to the freezer are frozen up and we need to turn the freezer off for two days and defrost it. What exactly we are supposed to do with a freezer full of food during this process seems to be our problem. We read some of these reviews while trying to troubleshoot our own issues and hoped we would not end up adding a review to this site, but sadly, you can add us to the list of disgruntled Viking owners who are wondering exactly what they paid for when they bought top of the line appliances and ended up with an unreliable money pit instead. I will think long and hard before spending another penny on Viking products again.
The range doesnt have as many features as I would like on the one that I got, but the quality is good.
I wanted a Viking range and we purchased one from P.C. Richards. The guy we worked with was a very helpful, nice man. We started the renovation in July and since we’re doing everything ourselves, it took a lot of work to get everything ready and the people from the dealership were very patient with us. When we were ready, they brought the different things that we needed when we needed them as opposed to everything at once. It worked out very nicely. So far, I haven’t had much time to do a whole lot of stuff with our Viking. I’m still getting used to it. I look at it and I’m thrilled. I like to bake and cook and I’m just waiting to get the time to try out different things with it. I like that the shelves are easy to move around. It helps out a lot. Also, they gave a lot of instructions on how to set things up inside the oven to make sure I can cook more than one thing at a time.
We were looking at the Wolf, and it was out of my price range. And the only reason I looked at the Wolf is because of its name in the industry. When we went to the store, the gentleman pointed out that its not necessarily the best product on the market. Its just got a following and a name. It was my first time purchasing a gas stove and he showed us the Viking. He told us a little bit about it and the features, and it had a model that they were actually discontinuing and it was a really good deal and we picked it up.Even our renovator who installed it said, This is a really good oven, because of the way it cleans. The grill of Wolf is tight so its harder to clean. With Viking its so easy to just pick up the grill and wipe it and its done. I love the product. You can really control the heat and Ive never cooked with gas before. I was reluctant, but its a lot more controlled in the heat in how you cook so I like it.The rep was also really good and knowledgeable and not pushy when I first went. He educated me on this. So check out the product because the Wolf and the Sub-zeros got its name in the industry and then everybody wants one, but they don’t realize that theres this other product that are just as competitive and has better price points that are equally or if not, better.
Built a home and got all Viking appliances. The dishwasher was included in a special package. I like my french oven and my microwave and 6 burner range top. Theyre fine. The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. I should have checked it out better then I never would have bought it.
I liked the amount of heat and design of Viking and I enjoyed its quality. My favorite feature of the range was the griddle and everything was fine except for the fact that it didn’t work initially, so they had to come back and reinstall it.
I wanted a classic gas stove and didnt want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, Oh, ones not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it. I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasnt the best customer service. Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, Yeah, we work on them. They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didnt go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out. My stove has a middle burner thats oblong and its one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldnt light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But its never done it again and now, Im worried and Im afraid to say, Dont fix it cause theyll say later, Oh, you wouldnt let us fix it. The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that hell do it right cause Ive known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still dont have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.
Overall experience is very positive. Viking Range delivered and installed in satisfactory order. Range is working very well. Product meets the expectations. Two comments: The roasting pan was not included with the range. Had to call Viking Direct and order from Parts Dept. Evidently, the dealer said that I was not the only customer who did not receive the roasting pan. VIKING should ensure that roasting pans are included with the stove when delivered. One of the burners does not fire up as well as the other. Will need to call the dealer for service. Overall - happy to have made the purchase.
We had nothing but trouble with the Viking Range that we first received. It was a gas range, the simplest model that Viking makes and I felt like I got a lemon unit. We were without an oven for five weeks. I contacted Viking and I spoke with a gentleman named Tony who should have been responsible for resolving these kinds of issues. Basically, he said that Viking would only come and replace parts on the unit even though we had had the repairman out three times. He also said that they would restart our warranty once the range started working. Tony was nice but he had a very condescending attitude. He should not be dealing with end-users.Viking never got me a new range and I am rather disappointed with them. They were exceedingly stubborn with replacing it. I didn’t even wanna go with the same model and I wanted to get a different one. I wanted to go to a dual convection and I wouldve paid the difference if Viking wouldve stepped in and did something about it. It took a lot of work and coordination that the consumer and the end-user should not have had to go through. I have never dealt with a more frustrating company and I’m astonished that they treat an end-user like that. It ruined my opinion of them. The dealer I purchased it from replaced the range, and that was before Viking agreed to make the transfer. This was all done through the retailer. They brought a new one out and it worked right away, and it’s been working since then. Viking is a very good range while it’s been working, but with all the experience I had with the last unit, I was not happy. Any time that somebody will ask me about my range, I will be more than happy to tell them the story of how Viking basically did nothing.
The dealer, Mario, did an awesome job of telling us all the benefits. We ended up going with Viking because he said that they stood behind their product and he had never heard complaints from anyone. That was the bottom line where we ended up buying 30 some thousand dollars of equipment there from Best Buy. I bought an entire kitchen of Viking. We have a microwave, a wine cooler, the gas range and the hood. So, all we need is a ship now to be a complete Viking. The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I also had some issues with the icemaker but we got that resolved and it was more of a connection issue. We had some issues with our dishwasher and we had to have it replaced. Also, I’m disappointed that the French oven doors didnt seal correctly. But other than that, they look fine. Were working through the service folks that Viking recommended to us and right now, Im still waiting for those. But so far, Im very happy.
Were happy with the Viking range. I like the gas burners and the functionality of the oven itself. Their customer service overall was good when I called them to resolve a problem. They were responsive and positive.
I had a Jenn-Air range but I didn’t like the way it cooked on the gas. A couple of my cousins and family members have Viking ranges and I also researched on them. I liked the reputation that I read about them and bought a few things - a range, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. The Viking range is much better. It cooks much faster. It’s of good quality but the only thing I’m having a problem with is the grates in the oven. I can’t get it in and out easily. It sticks. Also, they didn’t explain clearly that I bought the non-self-clean oven. They didn’t go through everything for me. They didn’t tell me the ins and the outs of each of the ranges. If I could exchange this, I would get the other one.
Our Viking Microwave was 5 years old when it stopped working. We had an authorized service person come to fix it, at great cost - more than most new microwave ovens cost - but within six weeks it was broken again. We got the same repair service in, but again it broke. Now we need to pay for the company to pick up the microwave and fix it - all on our dime. When I suggested it wasnt worth it, the service guy agreed - especially as it only costs $1400 to buy a new one! - #nomoreviking.
I like that theyre made in the USA. Given this day and time of supply chain slowdowns, the range got here quicker than we had expected, which was marvelous. We got a hood to go along with it. Everything came in pretty much right on time. The range performs exactly as we had hoped. Its a high quality range. Everything comes out tasting great. Viking is the best.
I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven that’s hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. It’s a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, I’m happy.
I bought a Viking refrigerator because of its looks as well as the companys reputation. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and knowledgeable as compared to the other dealers that I saw and I had a very pleasant experience. I like how simple the unit is and so far, Im impressed with its quality.
Bought a range in 2015. After many, many service calls and many, many replaced parts, Viking replaced the range. Now the second range is having the same issues as the original. Parts on order and again waiting weeks for repairs. Another Christmas season without a working oven. I am beyond angry. No confidence at all in Viking products. Will never buy again.
Viking is in my budget range. Also, Ive read a lot where they say Viking will have good maintenance. There will be people who will come out and fix it when somethings broken. Maintenance is important. I like the consistent heat. The range has been cooking well. Every time somethings not working, I have called the dealer and they have helped to contact a local maintenance supplier.
We had a Viking stove and my husband said he wanted them all the same, so we got a Viking refrigerator. The people at the dealership were awesome. We bought two dishwashers at the same time and the rep was really great. We just went back and bought our range from them. The refrigeration is good. Im not crazy about the drawer layout but it was the only one they had. The drawers aren’t deep enough for the vegetables and the fruits. They don’t have a lot of bottles to choose from. Also, they should have a water dispenser. Theyre not practically designed. But I don’t have to clean the coils and when you have four cats, it makes a difference that you don’t have to vacuum all those cat hair.
My husband is from Mississippi and everybody there has a Viking range. His mom had a Viking range and its just a family thing. I used to have a Thermador and I switched over to a Viking when my Thermador went out. I bought it online. The delivery was fine and it showed up on time. I had a professional come and install it. Ive had my Viking for about three months and I love it. Its a convection and its dual fuel. It is heavy duty and it is very easy to clean compared to my Thermador.
Seeing that this is my fourth change out on my Viking Range I think I am being generous with my one star rating. The range itself has been very disappointing since it has been the same reoccurring problem. But I will admit the service deserves a 4 star.
We renovated our entire kitchen through P.C. Richards and we purchased Viking through them for our cooking range and I like the look of it. I was supposed to contact them because of two things. One is I was very disappointed aftermarket that I couldnt get a grill pan. We have a lot of company in our summer house and we cook a lot of eggs and bacon. I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.
Not the greatest service for a pretty pricey appliance. The grid was kind of hard to maintain. Overtime, the grill top did look discolored (supposed to be normal) but it kind of bothered us as we had an open kitchen concept. Otherwise, best gas stove we have had so far in-term of cooking/pots - the grill top in the center and 2 cooking grids on either side.
Purchasing the Viking refrigerator was good and the dealer gave me a good price. The dealer was top-notch. I like that the fridge makes a lot of ice. Id recommend Viking.
I called up Bill Smith Appliances and ordered the Viking refrigerator because my Samsung fridge had died. I knew what I wanted. I looked it up online and it was perfect. Bill Smith Appliances was awesome and the delivery guys were great as well as the quality of my Viking refrigerator. It is wonderful and I am very pleased with it. I like all the shelves and how adjustable they are. I can also adjust the little cold zone drawer in the bottom and the temperature specifically there. I love the Viking fridge and I would definitely buy another. I like the looks of it. It goes great in my kitchen and it is beautiful but I just hope it lasts more than two years.
Our fancy refrigerator was replaced 3 times before we had a fully functioning refrigerator. First the doors did not align. Second and third time the ice maker did not work and finally on the third attempt the refrigerator install was completed.
Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. Stay away from Viking.
Ive had Viking for years. The ranges in the past were better quality than the one that I just got which is the Viking Tuscany series. The griddle didnt work and one of the ovens didnt work too. I am happy with the product but its unfortunate we had a couple of little issues to get sorted out.
We just got a range that we knew had worked for many years. Theyre a little expensive, but the quality is excellent, so it may be worth it. One time, we were doing routine cleaning and it was very dark in there even with the light on. I turned the flashlight and I could see that there was a scratch. For the price-point we paid, it shouldnt be scratched already. Its a year old. I called somebody and he took all my information. He said that they would call me to set up a person to come take a look at it and nobody followed up with that. That was two months ago. But then I like all of this range. Its very easy to clean, and the heat is very easy to control.
I bought a new home and Viking came with it. I like that the appliance cooks well. To be honest though, I haven’t had the best experiences. We’ve had to have some repairs for every appliance since I’ve lived here in one year of owning brand-new products. So I’m not exceptionally thrilled. I have a fridge, a stovetop and a microwave. There was some build-up of ice in the freezer. The most aggravating part is that I sit and wait for installers all day long. Then, they do it over and over and over, so it doesn’t sit very well. I had three times they had to come out for the freezer and the stovetop. Twice they had to come out for the microwave. But at this moment, everything is working fine.
I purchased a home and a Viking refrigerator was in it. It was hard to register and they needed to know other numbers that were printed on the packaging in order to register all their appliances. So, you have to call, which was a pain and you couldn’t register it via phone. You had to then go on their website and do it. Also, my fridge was not installed properly by the builder and I’ve had trouble getting someone to service to reinstall it for me. Other than that, the fridge is fine.
We bought our range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator from Viking. Im not too happy with the refrigerator as weve had an issue from the very beginning when wherein we would get constant beeping. It gives an FR2 error code and beeps and beeps. We close and open it but its constant. Plus, the refrigerator is deceiving as its really big but kinda small on the inside. So, it doesnt fit a lot of things. It doesnt give me water either. We also had an issue with our range. Still, Viking fixed that quickly. The purchase process for my refrigerator was fine and the delivery went okay. Its a nice looking refrigerator.
I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.
My friends have some Viking Ranges and Ive cooked in a restaurant that had one. I got one too but the service at the store was not a very good one. I love the range especially the griddle in the middle of the stove. The heat is very consistent too which is nice. I enjoy my Viking range and it makes me want to cook more.
I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...
42 inch quiet, cool, side by side refrigerator freezer. Model VCSB5423SS. We are having the WORST experience with the ice maker. It barely produces ice. Lakeview appliance has replaced the water valve twice with no success. We are now waiting on new ice maker. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
