I needed a Viking fridge that matched the stove I already had. I purchased one and I havent been feeling great about it. Recently, the whole freezer got clogged up and I had to shut the whole unit down. I also had to replace a part in the fridge which cost me around $600. Getting the unit repaired was difficult because the two places registered with Viking in my area were terribly reviewed. Plus, those places were not able to help me immediately.

We built a new home last year and we liked the Viking products that we’ve had in our other home. The quality of the refrigeration from Viking is great. The only thing that I have not liked about it is they’re not very deep, especially the shelves, because I was used to a deeper refrigerator. But it’s great as far as the performance. I have the Viking All Refrigerator and I like that our freezer is separate. Their team members were great and we ended up buying all of our appliances from Morrison in Midland, Texas and Kay there was absolutely wonderful.

I chose a simple Viking fridge because if its too complex, theres a bigger chance that it will break. Ive had the fridge for half a year and Im satisfied. But the shelf on the door fell once I closed the door and it broke. I sent an email to the Viking service center a couple of weeks ago but nobody answered. I was wondering if someone can send a new shelf to me to replace it.

We have a lot of friends who own Viking appliances, both refrigerators and stoves. This is our first Viking fridge and we love it. I like the bottom drawer for the freezer cause we got the big swing door. It was a little bit hard to install because it had to be in a wall unit. Other than that, were happy with the product itself. We were fine with the dealer, however, we are still missing pieces of equipment, such as pieces of trim. We had someone from Viking come over and he supposedly ordered the trim pieces. Its been a month and we still havent seen him though. Then, theres a spacer between the hinged top when the door swings open that was broken. We are missing that little barrier in between, to keep it from swinging more than 180 degrees. Still, I would recommend Viking refrigerators.

I have some friends that own Viking appliances in their home and they have gourmet kitchens. When I’m over there, sometimes they extend their kitchen to me and it’s beautiful. We love to cook. When we have other visitors that come in, they utilize our kitchen, so I want the best stuff. We have not had the full experience with our Viking range, but so far the stove top is awesome. I also used the broiler for some great T-bone steaks. I like that it’s so spacious and easy to clean. I had one bad experience with their team at the dealer, but that was in-house and the general manager extended a conversation with us and took care of that. The only thing I wish I would’ve gotten was the wheels, but that would’ve made it a little different configuration. Other than that, it’s perfect.

I am aware of the Viking name, and quality made me purchase from them over others. I’ve been very pleased with the performance of the unit. The four burners are very fast to ignite. The range has met my expectations, with one exception having to do with the temperature of the oven not being accurate. If you set it to 350 degrees, it is not 350 degrees. It’s actually around 325 degrees. Viking ranges are very nice, not necessarily all of them, but we’re very happy with the style and appearance of the Series 3 model. We purchased it online and it was easy to navigate the website.

I bought my Viking microwave (which is really made by Sharp) in August of 2013 and have already had to have the door switch replaced 3 times. It is only Nov. 4th, 2013! Guess what, today the microwave quit working for the 4th time. The same thing happens as the last 3 times. I can reset the breaker and as soon as I open the microwave door, the breaker trips again. So, I have learned to put the food in the microwave, flip the breaker and heat my food. As soon as I open the door to take out my food the breaker trips again. This has to be some kind of joke. I paid a hefty price tag for my Viking appliances and have only had a working microwave for just over half of the time Ive owned it. It always takes at least 10 days for parts to come and then 2 days to schedule a repair man. So, for a total of 35 days or so since mid-August until now, I havent had a working microwave. Now my Viking stove has an issue after just a few months. The center burner constantly tries to light. The burner is on with a flame, but the ignitor is constantly clicking and sparking, but thats another review.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

I looked at Viking Ranges and the Wolf Stove thats in the same townhomes that we have and I liked the styling of Viking more. It was also on sale so I found a better deal on it. I like the Vikings quality a lot. I liked that its more mechanical and not as electronically based so I dont have to worry about a computer system going out. I like the broiler underneath it - its awesome. I also like the gas ring that has got different level of flames coming out, so the heats pushed up more. Those are whats great. But I really dont like how the oven vents at the back get so hot. The guy who sold it to us was a nice salesperson and I had a technician come out as well who was good. The Viking Range is high quality and I had a professional experience with the company.

I could kick myself for not reading these reviews before buying Viking!!! Built a new home with all Viking appliances. Serious quality problems on everything except the range....so far. They are not a refrigerator company or a dishwasher company. I am as far to say they cheap quality! We absolutely wish we could go back to our GE or Maytag kitchens. In 2 new house with GE and Maytag and 15 years we did not even have 1 service call. Viking in 1 year of our 3rd new house 3 problems with ref. and just a bad dishwasher (never dries). Frustrated and feel terrible that I spent $10,000 over our budget to get Viking to end up with this level of quality and service.

Im patient (since 1994) but Im also resigned to a bad product. We bought a 30-inch 4 burner with infrared broiler (VGSC305) way back in 1994. Problems ever since. The oven door will only open 3/4 way. Cannot remove the door according to instructions to locate the problem. The convection fan works sometimes and sometimes it is making an awful racket like it’s hitting metal. The oven igniters have been replaced many times and last only a few years. The spark igniters on the range top keep sparking for long periods of times even when the range is lit. No rhyme or reason for when this occurs. The porcelain on the burner grates and burner cap is flaking off and chipping constantly. Now the bottom heat shield is rusted through and badly warped. Service calls are expensive and the problem is not fixed for long. This piece of junk will be replaced with a Wolff or other brand that is both better designed and has better service and longer warranty.

I always wanted a professional range. I moved to this house and they have a Dacor. But somehow, when the contractor from the home warranty came in to fix it, they screwed up. They messed up with something. The stove is too old so I had to replace it. The home warranty gave me the option to choose from. At that point, when I was going over some information, I found out Viking is a good stove and the price is quite reasonable for the amount that the home warranty was compensating me. I picked it not knowing that I will have this problem periodically. I have a sparkling problem with my stove on the right. When I turn it on, I always have to use the match to light. This is a brand new $1,000 stove and I dont understand why. Also, when I was reading the description, I wasn’t aware that it’s an open stove. Some of the stove, on the top, the water can overflow into the lower shelf all the way to the tray below.I also bought the Viking dishwasher and I found out the instruction book is not very well written. For a long time, when I try to press the button, the red light’s blinking. That means it has not started. And I keep closing it and opening it, and not until many days later, I called Viking. They said it was like a defect. I have to press it once then push it in. I cannot press more than once. But they don’t address that in the instruction book so people don’t know. Right now, the handle that opens up the dishwasher is moving but I have no idea how to tighten it up because I don’t see any holes.

The third technician on the fourth trip out to visit my fridge was able to accurately diagnose the problem. The fourth technician on the fifth trip out was able to successfully repair the unit once the parts arrived after my goading to have them shipped overnight rather than the typical shipping method of bicycle messenger. I was refunded the over $500 I had paid for parts and labor, as at the end of the day it was a warranty covered issue. Since the problem did eventually get resolved to my satisfaction, I upped my star rating from a one to a three. I cant in good conscience go higher than that because it took five trips over almost two months to get to the resolution.

We remodeled our kitchen and have replaced all of our appliances with new Viking models to include: a 6-burner, 2-oven range; a 36 built in freezer, a 36 built in refrigerator, 2 dishwashers, a microwave and a double electric oven with French doors on top. I have had problems with not one, but ALL of my appliances within the first two years of owning each of them. The problems that were covered under warranty eventually got fixed, but the service provided in Rancho Santa Fe by the southern California servicer recommend on the Viking website (Executive Appliance), has been slow and unreliable. I was without a freezer for two weeks and only got it fixed because I repeatedly called them to chase the electrical board part and their technician (after losing several hundred dollars worth of food). The refrigerators hinge had a metal part that literally broke apart and fell on the floor. Again another, several week wait to get this fixed. Both dishwashers stopped working within the first two years and have been repaired and are working, but one has control buttons that constantly stick and the paint labeling the buttons is rubbing off. The electric oven does not heat evenly and the food at the back gets cooked faster, so you have to rotate your cakes and cookies or use the convection feature to minimize burning at the back. The small oven in my gas range does not work consistently, so I just use the electric ones now. So, if you intend to use your appliances regularly, I would advise avoiding Viking. Like other reviewers, its just a fancy name badge on your appliance, whats beneath is not well constructed or reliable. I am so DISAPPOINTED and will NEVER again purchase a Viking product. I cannot imagine how they will stay in business with such unreliable products. I am just furious about the time and effort Ive had to spend getting things fixed that are not even old. I guess I should have kept the very old appliances - - at least they worked.

I like that its not super digital and its more analog because that crap breaks all the time. My Viking range that was purchased in 2005 has never worked properly and I have had numerous service calls. Most recently, the burner bases have been misfiring and was told by an authorized Viking repairman that about 3 years ago Viking updated the burner bases due to a design flaw! When I called Bonnie at Viking customer service to question why had Viking owners not been informed of this design flaw, she said it was just an updated equipment and they could not contact all their customers. My beautiful Viking refrigerator with freezer on the bottom was not quite three years old when the freezer section starting to build up ice to the point where I could not open the freezer door. Luckily it was still under warranty and the repairman installed a heater probe kit to keep ice from forming. Not quite one year later the problem occurred again. The repairman came and repaired it. Now we are 35 days later and the problem has occurred again. Viking’s solution is to install a new heater kit. That’s a total of three times in 14 months. I asked Viking if they could help with this latest service charge but they said ‘no’ because it is no longer under warranty. I think if people are having this problem repeatedly they should either find a remedy or replace the refrigerators. I think Viking should stick to ranges.

Its a tough year because we bought the Viking range during COVID. We bought it last October but we couldnt get it until February or March. It was the same with our SubZero refrigerator. Its just the way it was last year. Our contractor put the range in and the ease of install was fine. They did the kitchen remodel and then, we redid counters and cabinets. The range heats up fast and even, and the stove and the burners work well. But the grates started showing wear. There are dings in it, like you dropped something on the grates or theyre torn off, and we hardly use it. The quality is not standing up to the price we paid for it. One thing I would like to have known is to burn it up before you try to cook something in it. I should have read the directions. We set off the smoke detectors. A sticker on the window might be a good idea. My wife had surgery and we had someone come to help my wife, and she was the one who used the oven first. The burners were easy to use. I had gas for the last 30 years so it was not hard so we didnt think about reading the instructions. We read them after we almost had the fire department called. Fortunately, we have good ventilation in the house and we have a Viking hood but that was what was expensive.

In the middle of December we went to a place called Famous Tate here in our city and we started looking around. We actually went there to purchase KitchenAid appliances but when we found the Viking, we liked it better. We needed a counter depth fridge and Viking seemed to have more interior space than all the other counter depth ones that we could find. We loved it. The only thing about it is that the ice maker doesnt make ice very quickly and it is just making 10 cubes a day. Their salesman was super nice though. Being a homeowner for over 30 years, I have known Viking Refrigerator being a top brand. I was upgrading my entire kitchen and I wanted the top of the line. The refrigerator I got is great. There was a problem with the unit when it was delivered from a cosmetic perspective but Viking is fixing that. They were right on top of things, and the team at the dealership was great. I like the design of the refrigerator as well. I also purchased a Viking oven and a Viking dishwasher. However, my oven has had issues from the day it was delivered and Viking has not been helpful in getting those issues resolved. In less than 30 days I had two major issues. One is the convection motor and the heat does not work. When you put the oven on 400, it never gets past 300. Viking agreed to repair it and I asked why would they repair a unit that is less than 30 days old that has two major flaws to it? They would not replace it. That is pretty bad. The dishwasher, on the other hand, is great.

The refrigerator door fell on my wife out of nowhere when she opened it. But Viking they did an exceptional job in making sure that my wife was okay and that we received a new unit. We couldn’t be happier with their response. I assume it was because of the liability and the potential for an injury. They also probably wanted to prevent that from ever happening again. We have three little kids and God forbid it was one of them who opened those doors. It weighs 150 to 200 pounds fully loaded. Viking said it has apparently never happened before but that can happen with any product. Still, we’re happy with the product, its looks and its performance. We’ve owned the Viking refrigerator for some time now, along with the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher. We have the whole Viking outfit. The sales cycle so OK, but nothing fantastic, through University Electric of Santa Clara. Organizing the installation could have been smoother. Also, the free units offered with the oven had terrible reviews so I declined them, but no alternative credit was available. Installation by GA Installations was very smooth. However, the small oven has not worked properly since installation. Getting a service visit took weeks, and failed to correct the problem. Second visit is today, another several weeks later. Service guy said he had never seen our problem before, so either we have a uniquely bad unit or the service professional didnt know his stuff. If todays visit does not fix the issue, I expect the complete oven to be replaced. For a premium appliance, I did not expect anything like this. One more thing - my online registration wasnt visible to Viking when I called in the service request, even though I got an email confirming the registration. I just logged in to get the order info, and I still dont see it there. Feel free to call to discuss!!

The first service call happened when the unit didn’t have a fan, so it was overheating, and the thermostat kept cutting off and shutting down the stove oven. Just describing facts: you can judge if you want to go through this headache. Bought in 2011; Model # CVDSC548T64SS. First problem: noisy vibrating fan required between 2012 and 2013 several service. First replacement fan had same problem needing replacement again. Now, in 2015 (oven is just 4 years old!!) the Temperature selector switch not working. Needs to be replaced (cost 435 $ + tax + service call). The service company has had to change this part 4 times already for other customers. I called BRIGADE but they refuse to consider this a defect.Considering that this range costs at least 10,000$ I CAN NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE. Just found out Viking no longer called Viking but BRIGADE! Daniel came a few times until June 6, 2013 to solve the problem of the noisy oven. Now Sep 11, 2015: control knob for temperature and mode not working clockwise only counter clockwise.

We’re on our second Viking refrigerator because the first one failed after approximately eight years. The newer refrigerator which we got last year is operating great. It has not had the same problems at this point but having to replace a Viking after eight years, Ive never had that kind of circumstance with any other refrigerator brand. There are some parts that get frozen then they start to melt and leak in the refrigerator. They dont go out to the drain. There is this freezing thawing process that is part of the regular refrigeration process but the pathway for the melting gets blocked up. It gets frozen too so the water accumulates in the bottom of the refrigerator. That had happened a couple of times.Ive had problems with a variety of Viking products from double ovens to the refrigerators. I have two homes and I have full suites of Viking appliances in both kitchens. I’ve not been thrilled with them. Viking is overrated. They have a cachet but their performance and reliability do not live up to that cachet. There are lesser prestige brands that perform better than Viking.

Im sitting here frustrated and angry as my Viking refrigerator has done the same thing as the person who reviewed before me. As of the other day I heard a grinding noise and now my food was all thawed in the freezer and my refrigerator does not seem to be cold. I cant tell you the amount of times this refrigerator (in fact my VIKING trash compactor, gas cooktop and refrigerator) have been serviced over the years. I would never purchase another VIKING appliance based on my experience. I know the repair folks are happy for the business but each time they come out I cringe as VIKING repair parts are as outrageously priced as their appliances!

Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked meat, so I chose them. There were multiple dealers so purchasing it wasn’t too difficult of a process. But youd need some plumber to put it in because it was so heavy. It was lifted not from the bottom and I don’t think they did a particularly good job of it. There was that kind of lip that came out and too often that was used, that was not reinforced enough to handle the weight or sometimes the door was also used incorrectly. It should not to do it that way, but it looked like a handle and people invariably lift and pull on it.In the two years and a half that Ive had it, weve had the thermometer broke and we’ve had that replaced, but it was under warranty. We called them and then they called us back and then they made a stress test, but eventually we got through it. The process wasn’t super-fast, but we’re easy-going, so we managed around it.Im not really happy with the baking. It’s inconsistent. And with the stuff that got on the burners and spilled on it, you just can’t get them cleaned after a while. This is sort of the nature of the stove itself. There are certain parts that are more difficult than others. Everything that we’ve read about it is pretty much true and that has been consistent. So, we knew what we were getting, that it was gonna be expensive, that it didn’t cook real evenly, but it still looks cool and they have a roadmap of how to get it better.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2018 and purchased all Viking appliances. Less than 2 years later I already have problems with the dishwasher (the detergent door doesnt open during the wash cycle), the freezer stopped making ice and the door to my steam oven spontaneously shattered when I opened it. I know this sounds crazy but it is absolutely true. I was opening the door, heard a pop and all of a sudden the glass started shattering. When I contacted Viking I was told my appliances were out of warranty. They only warranty them a year but who expects these expensive, high end appliances to start having problems so soon? My old (non-high end) appliances lasted 20 years! I never once had a problem. Whats most upsetting is Vikings attitude. I thought I was purchasing high quality appliances from a reputable company but thats not the way I feel anymore. Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails and phone calls and truly dont seem interested in helping their customers or standing by their product.I had one service company they recommended come and leave with out fixing anything. The service tech said I should just put the detergent pod in the utensil holder and he glanced at the ice maker, said there was an ice cube stuck and declared it fixed. So here I am, a month later with nothing resolved. My biggest regret is not researching. Before you buy: research, get recommendations from friends, visit different appliance stores and talk to the sales people. And read reviews on web sites other than the brands site. I noticed Viking has no negative reviews on their site.

A friend of ours also had a Viking that we really liked the style of. We compared it against other ones in the showroom and generally liked the look of it better. We got a Viking range and dealt with MD Appliance in La Canada, California, and they were great. They were good at calling out the features and differences between them and the other top-of-the-line one that was like a Wolf. There are also a couple of very small, little, kinda like nitpicky things I noticed with the range. When the burner is at a very low setting, almost like on the simmer setting, it has a flickering effect on the gas burner. Also its not a smooth, sort of clean sounding burn when it’s up higher. So if I were to perfect the range, I would eliminate that kind of irritating flicker sound. The burners themselves are very heavy, which is fine. But the metal bottom of the burners is very rough, and it’s not a finished metal. So unfortunately when our house cleaner was taking it off of there, she scratched some of the surface of the range which freaking killed us, because it was like the price of a car. I wished that there was either some of sort of powder coat or some kind of finish on the underside of the burner that would prevent that type of thing from happening. But other than that were pleased with the quality and I have no problem recommending it.

We had an old Sub-Zero and we needed to replace it because it was not possible to repair it. We were trying to find an appliance who can go inside the place and we had a few choices. Viking Refrigerators model was the right price and it was a high-quality product. We had a problem with the delivery of the fridge to our home. They broke our product during the transport but the fridge seems to be working properly. And the installation was really complicated for the installer. They took three hours to adjust everything and it was really difficult, so thats the thing that we cant fix. Also, the shelves inside are too soft, so when you put like a turkey inside, the shelf bends. And it makes a lot of noise and we were surprised by the noise of that model of that price. Now, we are waiting for a technician to repair the damage during transport. They have to change a part of the door and another thing that broke during the bad delivery. Also, in the store, they told us that model adds a two-year guarantee and in the manual that we have, they said three years of guarantee. The technician told me that usually when he comes to repair over the guarantee, he always took the information in the manual. He told us maybe its a two-year on our bill but if we could take a picture of the manual and say its a three-year guarantee from the date of purchase or delivery date. I would like to receive a confirmation if its true because it seems that they change the base guarantee. We bought an extended guarantee because we want to use that product for the next 20-year. We dont want a problem. I would appreciate receiving a confirmation that that model we have has a three-year guarantee as a base guarantee.

Purchased a very nice home in 2006 that had just been built. The home came with Viking appliances. We have had nothing but problems with the Fridge and the Dishwasher has already been replaced with a top of the line Maytag. We have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on everything you can imagine with this fridge with 3 different authorized Viking repair companies. It still doesnt work properly and the alarm goes of all night keeping everyone awake. This is the worst $8000 dollar piece of junk ever built. It has to go, cant take it any longer. Someone should start a class action suit against Viking.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.

I have a 36 Viking refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Generally it does what its supposed to do -- keep food cold. But its rather noisy. I can hear it running in the next room. The refrigerator door has an annoying tendency stay open; it has to be closed with a deliberate push or it will swing wide and bang into an adjacent wall. I assumed it would be a simple adjustment to rebalance the door so that it would close with a slight nudge as most refrigerator doors do, but a Viking repairman said there was nothing he could do to correct the problem. The ice maker has also been troublesome. There is a thin metal bar that senses when the ice cube bin is full and shuts the ice maker off. The same bar also acts as a manually operated switch to turn the ice maker back on when more ice cubes are needed. However, the bar is rather flimsy and has a tendency to come loose from its socket, with the result that the ice maker runs continuously churning out buckets of ice cubes with no way to stop it (echoes of The Sorcerers Apprentice) other than by turning off the water supply -- not very well engineered.

We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.

We had a lot of small hiccups because of COVID and because of the supply chain issues. Initially, we purchased our Viking stove through Best Buy. But it kept getting pushed out and I wanted to get our kitchen up and running. So, I ended up finding a floor model out of Stockton, that had the piece in stock. It had some scratches on it but they were very minor and they guaranteed a six-month warranty. They delivered it and got it in service. The Viking is simple to use and theres not a lot of electronics on it which is nice compared to Thermador and other high-end brands. I went with the one with an open range and even though its rated at 15,000 BTUs, its probably more because its open. Youre getting the airflow better, so its actually heating it up better. So far, I love it. Its easy to start. The one thing I dislike is if you take off any of the igniters to clean, they get a little bit on the porcelain and I have to readjust them in order for the igniters to ignite sometime. The other issue Ive had is that it has to kick on numerous times to get the igniter to ignite. So, every once in a while, itd have a little gas smell. I talked with the retailer that I bought it from about it, and they were gonna fix that. But my father-in-law whos familiar with Viking stove, he’s like, “Yeah. I’ll show you. It’s just this.” We ended up just moving the igniter a little bit. And then it took off, and no questions asked. Also, Im not sure if the convection part is working properly because it makes a little rattle from time to time. Otherwise, the Viking has been reliable.

3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. What a horrible company and product line. You pay full price for high end products and you get junk with a company that does not stand by its appliances. Stay far far away from Viking. I will gladly find the picture of the stove top if anyone wants to see.

There was something wrong with the door and there was a dent on top of it. I called the company that I purchased it from and they weren’t too responsive but I was able to get a small discount off the fridge and someone came to fix the problem that I was having with the door. The person who came out was surprised that they shipped it out to me in that condition. I found out about Viking 20 years ago and back then, I couldnt afford it, but Ive always heard the great reviews on the quality. I remodeled my kitchen in October and it was a good time to do it. After two months of purchase though, I ran into an inconvenience. Some time in December, we were trying to bake for the very first time and when we turned the knob on the oven, it broke from edge to edge, in the middle. It might have been some type of factory defect, but things happen. We had not even used the oven, but I called in, and it was under warranty.Viking has a third party customer service where I called their number, and they did it with just the serial number. They assigned a technician to come, but they mailed the part first to my home.Once I got the part, I called them back and let them know that the part has arrived. We then scheduled the technician to come by and replace it. Since then, the knob has been a little tight. I can still make it function, but it doesnt run smoothly like the rest of the knobs. Another thing is that, the very first burner on the right-hand side is the one with the most flame. Its supposed to be the most intense flame on the range and it makes a blowing noise when its on. This is the only burner that does that. Still, I love the quality.

We bought this unit in 2005 for a new kitchen with all new appliances. My problems with this unit are numerous and varied. At first we noticed that the interior plastic parts, such as drawers broke easily. These are very expensive and there is a real gap between the cost and the apparent value of the parts. Next, mechanical and electrical parts began to break down. We needed a small fan, available online for $8 and that took all of 10 minutes to replace, that cost several hundred dollars. We have had sensors go bad for similar costs to repair, and now the freezer wont get cold enough to allow the ice maker to produce ice. I would never buy from Viking again. Their products are flimsy and delicate despite the high price. I am willing to pay more for quality, but I didnt get that quality at Viking.

Viking is overpriced garbage. The larger oven bottom metal has warped badly. The stove top burners are hard to auto light. The middle griddle has had a temperature control problem since new and now barely heats up. The fridge/freezer condensation drip pan on the bottom overflows every other month. I believe this is because they tried to not use an electric heater for evaporation to save electricity but it is an energy pig anyways. I changed the ice maker which now works fine because it isnt made by Viking. The through the door ice dispenser has never worked consistently even after being replaced. The hood is okay but is a ** to clean properly. An appliance repairman told me Kitchen Aid is much better quality and the parts are cheaper but more reliable.

We had run our course with other good, run-of-the-mill brands. One was a side-by-side and my wife liked it because it was a counter-depth but it didn’t have enough fridge space and had too much freezer space. It was a Samsung that had four doors and a three-zone in it. They were good on their warranty but we had nothing but problems with it. Then I had to wait six weeks to get a check from them. So I said, Nevermore. I’ve seen Viking Refrigerators in homes. They had built-in units in nice, fancy custom kitchens and I knew of their reputation like a Sub-Zero. Plus, I liked the simplicity, the build and the feel of the Viking refrigerator. That was what I set out to buy in the first place. We had a very good experience with the Viking dealer and we were well-served by the individual who sold the appliance to us. The one we got has a French door and the bottom drawer. It was the only model that was standalone and the rest of them were for custom kitchens. Its top-shelf and I’m very pleased with its quality. I like the feeling I get when I open up the door then the LED lights illuminate the inside and just slowly fade. It’s very pleasant to operate and it has lived up to all the expectations I’ve had of it.

We purchased a brand new house in March and because of COVID, we only moved our things in and we just stayed at our other home in the woods for a couple of months. When I went to use the dishwasher in May, it didnt work. I called for a service call, and each time that I would call, it would be a month-long wait. I had my three adult children here for a little while, and working from home, it was three meals a day. I would call Viking and leave messages and people wouldn’t call me back. When someone came, they said they fixed it and left. I started the dishwasher that night, and it did not work. That was on a Friday.I called again on a Monday and the service department was supposed to be contacted or they would come contact us. That took another month and then that fix also did not work. After that, it was more calls and more waiting at least a month for having an appointment. The whole process went on for many months and I was really frustrated. I never had one working here until this last visit a couple weeks ago and all I can say is it’s repaired now. When I did my home over, I put in two huge Sub-Zeros, two huge, nice Vikings, Viking microwaves and everything. I was very happy except one of my Viking ovens was having issues from the beginning. I ended up having to put a few thousand dollars into it. I almost had a fire issue and it was just time to go. I wanted a new range. My husband said that they’re expensive and he’d get it for me. When it was my birthday, he asked me if I wanted a range or jewelry. I got a Viking range. The first time I turned it on, the convection broiler wasn’t working. Every time I turned the oven on, it sounded like there was a train in the house for two hours while the stuff was cooking. It was just this loud, loud noise. I called right away for service. They sent someone down and he said he was gonna change a part. I told him I was not ready to change any parts. The last time I started changing parts, the oven broke on me. If I bought a refurbished piece, I have no problem for changing parts, but when I bought a brand new piece, I don’t wanna have to start dealing right away with parts that are changing. It was just not fair.He started telling me, “Yeah, whatever.” When they came down again for service, he told me three new parts have to be changed. I called the company where I bought the stove from and told them, I don’t want this range. And if it means paying more and getting a different model, I would like to do that. First they started telling me, “Maybe don’t take a Viking.” I said, “Yeah, but my other appliances are Viking. I want it to match. I’m ready to pay extra to get a higher model. I don’t care, but I don’t want this piece in my home. It’s causing problems. It could cause a fire. I don’t want it.”I could barely walk as I just had a knee replacement. And this is what I’m doing in order to recover. I’m worrying that if the thing goes up in flames, I won’t be able to get out of my house. And altogether, I’m so pissed because this was my gift. I would’ve bought a refurbished piece. I put a brand new piece from day one. I called them before 30 days. I want it out and I want a new piece in my home. Even the people I bought it from at Drimmers said, “We’re calling, and we understand, and we see that you have bought, in the past, Vikings. We understand that you’re not trying anything. Let them take it back.” They were calling for me also and were not getting through to anyone. Vikings didn’t call them back.I called Viking directly. They asked me why was I calling and not the person I bought it from. I said, “Because when they called, you guys told them that there’s nothing you could do. What does that mean, there’s nothing you could do? I bought a brand new piece.” I told them I would like to speak to the manager directly. They said she was not in and someone would call me back within the next 48 hours. I did not receive a call back even. I had to call back again to find out what was going on. Before I purchased my piece now, I would’ve recommended them, and that’s why I was purchasing it again. But right now, I wouldn’t recommend it just because I don’t know if I would want any of my friends to go through what I’m going through now. I’m very, very upset. Im very dissatisfied.

We happened to get a very good deal on the Viking range that we saw. The quality is good. But we had a problem with the thermostat. It wasnt keeping temperature. So we had to have it replaced recently and well see if that will resolve the problem. Other than that, we had a very good experience with the team at the Viking dealer. We bought appliances from them before. They were knowledgeable, low pressure, and local.

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

We purchased a Viking range and it says it includes a boiler pan. We called the company we purchased it from and said the boiler pan is listed as part of what we shouldve received and we didnt receive it. They said theyd get us one, but its gonna be a while. I just got an email this morning that said itll be three to five weeks. We got a nice, new stove. Its great. Were enjoying the range, and we cant boil. We paid a lot of money for it and expected better service than this. It seems like were kinda getting the runaround. Someone should just take customer service seriously and send us a boiler pan.

The product performance and durability of Viking refrigerators led me to purchase from them. However, I’m very disappointed and frustrated because I have a French door refrigerator, and it is accumulating a lot of ice all the time. The service in Rio de Janeiro, where I live, is very poor. There’s only one authorized dealer that does customer service and he never has the time. He advised me to change the seal rubber that goes on the door, which I did, but the problem continued. I told him this, but there was no response. I was about to write a letter to Viking because this is unacceptable. I’m also not very happy with my experience with the dealer. They sold me one model and they delivered another. I had to keep the one they sent me but I want the model that I purchased. But since they refused to change it, I ended up having received a penalty from them.

We like the quality of Viking. They had a wall oven, the French door design, and both my husband and I fell in love with it. We compared it to the only other product out there that I'm aware of that had a French door wall oven, which was GE, and it didn't compare as far as quality. We've had our Viking installed in November of last year and we have had several issues, but it they are all being resolved. The wall oven had a heating issue where it took too long to heat up. There was a panel that just got replaced this week, and that is not working. And then on the range, the glass in the oven door slid around a little bit. It took a while to get this issue resolved, but we have just found out they're gonna replace the entire range.

This is the worst refrigerator on the market. In the 2.5 years we have owned the unit, we have had the following issues: handle broke off the ice drawer, handle broke off the vegetable crisper drawer, the hinge that keeps the door from hyper-extending has busted twice, the fan went bad, AND on top of that there is a faulty design with the circulation system that is supposed to circulate air from the freezer to the refrigerator -- it causes everything on the top shelf of the refrigerator to freeze, so we cant put anything on the top shelf (I talked to many Viking employees who admit they are aware of the problem and theres nothing they can do about it)! I just called customer service to plead for a new crisper drawer since our warranty just expired and it is clearly a faulty design. The handle is not secure on the drawers and breaks off very easily and they said, No, you will have to pay $213 PLUS shipping and handling for a new plastic drawer. The last refrigerator we owned cost $10,000 less and we didnt have a single problem in 10 years. Please dont buy a Viking refrigerator!

Viking stove should be recalled. Since the first use, we have been having the same problems all of the other people have been having with the stove. It should be recalled because it is a danger to use. Our oven gets so hot that it has melted the stove wires and control box. It has warped our oven door so it doesnt shut all the way, and the heat reflector (not sure if this is correct name) in the bottom of the oven is cracked and buckled. The oven gets so hot that if you touch the outside of it, you will get burned. The oven also fills up with gas and makes a popping sound or just blows the door right open! It scares me with my children if the oven is on. They can get burnt or hurt with the door blowing open. Also, because of the intense heat and the wires melting, the left side of the stove doesnt work.

We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

How can it be? We thought made in America, we would get great quality. What a disappointment. The kitchen was remodeled 5 years ago. This past month, we had problems with both Viking products, the Viking range VGIC3676BS and the refrigerator. We are now out of Viking warranty. The NSI insurance for these products is a nightmare to deal with - a waste of money. They give you the runaround. The Viking range oven just stopped working, we think it is the igniter. It does not matter that when you call Mississippi, they speak to you with their Southern charm, you still have an expensive appliance that simply does not work! No one cares, not at all, because it is not happening to them! The fact that we bought expensive products does not matter in todays world. Anyone recalls the days when we had an oven that lasted 30 years? We are so disgusted with Viking. We regret spending the money for something that obviously was made with planned obsolescence in mind. Wish there was a way we could warn people about this company. I would like to put signs on retailer stores, buyer beware.

I’ve worked in restaurants for a very long time and I came to know about Viking Ranges. I decided to buy one from PC Richards since for a home oven, I wanted something that has more fire and a more professional look. I like it a lot. It’s a very good quality and high-powered oven and I like that the internal temperature is more accurate than most home ovens. I had some issues with the oven turning on and the pilots, but I had it serviced within a few months of buying it. I also had a problem with the little rubber stoppers on the underside of the grates that go over the burners. Those fall off all the time and it’s a hassle because I’m worried about the grate scratching the oven underneath when I take them off to clean and put them back on. But those little rubber things gone missing is probably the biggest issue I’ve had, which is good.

When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the ins
When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the installers, they damaged the handlebars and two of them had scratches. They hit the door entry area, too, so they damaged that as well and my contractor had to fix it for us. The two refrigerators were also not installed the way I wanted them to be installed and the doors were not in line with each other, so they were a bit off. Theres also a half an ounce of leak periodically occurring on the wine cooler side. The installers set the refrigerators in and put in the backing for them to be stabilized. They leveled it a bit and locked it into that 2x4 in the back. Then they left without installing the trim kit so my carpenter had to figure out how to put it in. The trim kit was for the refrigerator but we ended up installing it on the wine cooler side since that didn’t have a trim kit. Ben, from the Odmus Company, told me that I was supposed to use the trim kits for both sides, the refrigerator and the wine cooler, to make them look right and uniform. He said he would install them for me so I should get them. So I ordered another trim kit for the refrigerator but later, he said that there was supposed to be another kit for the refrigerator as well. This was never brought to my attention until months after I purchased the items, so I’m disappointed about that. I paid $1,000 for the installation and trim kits thinking that the installers would finish the job and do it correctly, but it wasn’t done so. I reported it to Viking and to the store manager, but I never received any calls from BestBuy about this issue. It’s been five months since I bought the refrigerators. BestBuy held on to them for me until I was ready for the installation, then they were installed in my house two months ago.I talked to someone from BestBuy last month and told them about my problems with the installation process. They got the original installer back to help me and they’re going to replace the handles, straighten out the doors for me and install the trim. But most of the work has been done already, so I dont see why I have to pay for the installation when the installers didn’t install anything. They just delivered the items and set them up. Other than that, I love the Viking refrigerator and the cooler, except for the leakage. They’re great refrigerators and I would recommend them to others. Since the installation process is the most difficult job, people have to make sure that Viking would do everything that they’re supposed to do and that they complete the job.

It took weeks for him to get the parts and he finally came back saying that the refrigerator needed to be replaced. It took a while to get the issues resolved and we had to take time off of work to do that. The coordination was a little frustrating, but the process of getting their product replaced went smoothly. The guys who delivered the new refrigerator and helped set it up were great. However, it doesnt have a water dispenser and I wished that Viking had told us that because I spent money buying the charcoal filtration and I dont know what to do with it now. I’ve been a Viking fan for quite a while when I lived in Chicago. There’s a place up there that sold a lot of Viking products, and I used to see them on display. And I figured if I ever remodel, I’d look at them again, which I did. And I bought a whole Viking kitchen. I dealt with their distributor Elite Appliance, and they were really great. Brian, the sales guy, was really good, very detailed and he answered all my questions. I got a great price and we bought the refrigerator, the 36-inch stove and I ended up getting the Viking dishwasher for free. So, that was a plus. The refrigerator has been installed and we’ve been using it for about three weeks now. I like it a lot. I like that it’s got a lot of lighting in it when I open it up. And the separate drawers for different temperature controls seems to work well. It’s counter-depth and it’s got a lot of room in it. I also like the lower drawer freezer and the sliding shelf. And now, I got an icemaker that works again, so I like that too.

Built a new home in 2011, my ex wanted an elaborate kitchen that would be functional and fun to entertain in. We purchased Viking refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 12 gas burners and 4 ovens, because our impression was Viking was top of the line. Turns out the line begins at the rear. The dishwashers never worked properly and I discarded them after 2 years & numerous service calls. The burners took several trips and replacement of the castings to get them level. The ovens take forever to reach temperature and each one takes a different setting to maintain required temperatures. Both doors on the refrigerator and freezer have sagged and required adjustments. Currently, we have been waiting for a month for a part for the refrigerator, in order to get the temperature under 50 degrees. Called yesterday again and was told that the part was on order and coming from the factory. I asked if it was coming by Pony Express, hello Viking have you heard about FedEx yet? Good thing I kept the 15-year-old Whirlpool or we would be eating out of a cooler.

We did an expensive kitchen remodel in 2008, installing a $5000 built-in 36-inch Viking All-Fridge. In these last 5 years weve had nothing but trouble with it, and had to get service men out here numerous times. Often they were not able to fix it. It seems from the other reviews that weve been having the same identical problems with this fridge: 1.The beeper would start beeping at any time while the door was closed - was fixed. 2. The uber-heavy door is sagging to the left - was worked on, but still visibly sagging, so I dont think the fridge closes properly. 3. Ice builds up on the cooling panel behind the top shelf. 4. Water constantly collects on the shelves, dripping everywhere, and everything is wet inside. Have to keep towels on the shelves to keep them as dry as possible. Have to put in dry towels every few days. Have to take out shelves and drawers to dry out, as vegetables etc. will stink and rot when sitting in water all the time. 5. My vegetables freeze in the veggie drawer, and have to be discarded. Cant use the drawers.Numbers 3, 4 and 5 have been ongoing for about a year now. More than one serviceman has tried to fix it, and I have no hope that it will ever change. In the beginning the fridge was under warranty, and the repairs cost nothing. That soon expired, and weve been paying out of pocket for constant repairs to this so-called high-end fridge, which it is not. Our patience is wearing thin. The service people have been very helpful, and really tried their best to solve the problems, phoning Viking, and getting advice from them as to what they should do, but nothing seems to work. We live in Canada, but as Viking has no problem selling their products here, they should also be accountable here when their products dont deliver. This morning, the repairman came out here once again. Viking has told him to install a new gasket, which is the rubber around the door that ensures a tight seal. He did not do it, and told me straight up to cut my losses, get rid of this fridge, and get another one. Easier said than done, because it sits built into a space especially designed for it. So we are pretty much screwed. I asked him to send me a list of all the repairs they had done on this fridge so far, and I will post it here when I receive it.There is no warranty anymore of course, but it would be nice if Viking would acknowledge our very sticky problem, take responsibility, and reimburse us for the price of a second hand fridge. This is the first time in our lives that weve had problems with a fridge, and we sorely regret buying it. We will never buy any Viking product ever again, and will certainly advise everybody else against doing so. Had I known then what I know now, I would never have bought a Viking product. Fortunately my other appliances are not Viking, and none of them has given me any trouble so far.

We purchased this unit, Viking Refrigerator DDSB423SS, when we remodeled our kitchen in September of 2006 at a cost of $6,000! We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. We have had ongoing issues with the unit, but most recently it has become unbearable. On Feb 17, 2012, the unit stopped cooling. Everything in the freezer melted. I contacted Carl Schaedel & Co, the authorized repair company in my area. They could not come to diagnose the problem until 11 days later, February 28th. When they came, I had to pay them $189 for the service call. I then received a call from the office indicating that it was a problem with the sealed system, and that the cost of parts and labor to repair the unit was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, but my $189 fee was not returnable. Furthermore, the first available appointment to come to do the repair was three weeks later, March 19th! Mind you, both my husband and I work for a living, so in addition to not having a refrigerator, we have to take time off from work to deal with this. On March 19th, 2012, the service man came and replaced the mother board. The refrigerator appeared to be working after the mother board was installed. He told me to wait 24 hours before using, which we did. After 24 hours it seemed okay, it was making ice etc. So, I went grocery shopping and purchased $175 worth of fresh and frozen items, put them in the unit and 6 hours later, I opened the freezer and everything had melted. Furthermore, now there appears to be a broken gasket, which was not broken prior to the service call, so the door is not sealing properly when closed. On March 21, my husband called Carl Schaedel again. At this point, he was angry and frustrated so he gave the long list of issues over the years and then indicated that the March 19th repair did not fix the problem and he also mentioned the broken gasket. It took 8 days to get another service call. On March 28, a different repair person came to the house. He walked in to the house and within 30 seconds said that it’s not a problem with the mother board, it’s something else. But he did not have the part on the truck. He will have to order the part! He did however have the new gasket which he put on the door and then told my husband to pay him for that since its not covered under warranty! My husband made him put the broken gasket back on. Why on earth would we pay for a repair to a refrigerator we cant use anyway? So today is March 30. I have just gotten off the phone with Carl Schaedel customer service rep again, asking when the tech will come to do the repair. I was told that she does not have the report from the tech yet, that it usually takes 24 hours. Okay, well its been 36 hours. I am now waiting for her to call me back, to tell me when they will come and whether or not it is covered under the warranty! We have been without a fridge for 6 weeks now. We have two kids and have been living out of a cooler! Doing our best to shop for breakfast and lunch items that dont require refrigeration but dinners have been tough, so we have been eating out most nights which we cannot afford! We also have a Viking 6 burner range which also had problems and had to be repaired several times, but that is another long story and my major concern right now is the fridge, as the situation is really debilitating. We are, beside ourselves and after reading the numerous other complaints, it appears we are not alone. Is there nothing that can be done? I am sure the CEO of Viking is very well to do, at the expense of us consumers. I have seen references to a class action suit. I am willing to participate, will even take a leadership role in making it happen, but I have no idea how to go about this. Can anyone assist? Please?!
