We were deciding on Wolf and Viking, but we chose Viking because of the reputation, quality, and the offers they put in there at Best Buy. Those made it easy for us to make a decision. The sales reps were very great and knowledgeable. They knew what they were doing and gave us so much options. I love the range. However, Ive never used the griddle yet because I need to clean first and make it shiny but there were still some residue coming up. Other than that, anybody can go closing their eyes and they can buy the Viking. Its very good quality-wise.

In the year 2000 my husband and I bought a home and shortly after began an extensive and costly kitchen remodel. We spared no expense and believing we were buying the best, we bought a Viking refrigerator. In hindsight, it was our worst decision. Almost from the very beginning we began having problems. The ice maker stopped working, the door accessories and drawers began to crack to the point that one of the condiment containers has a huge hole on the bottom rendering it totally unusable. Certainly not the quality youd expect from such expensive appliances. When food started spoiling we knew we had a big problem and called Viking for help. By then, of course, warranty had expired but they recommended a local service company. By the third visit with no resolution we knew we were dealing with an incompetent repairman and my husband, at this point beyond frustrated, practically threw him out of our home. We never got any satisfaction from Viking. And its incomprehensible to me that after spending thousands of $$$ on a beautiful, state-of-the-art refrigerator I am forced to make ice in plastic ice cube trays and keeping milk, cheese, cold cuts and veggies in my old GE in the basement because the temp is never cold enough no matter how we adjust the settings. Last night I opened the door to put something away and felt warm air. The Viking finally conked out. So, this morning my husband and I are debating who to call. And as I google Viking, I came across your reviews and, can I say, I am shocked by the hundreds of negative stories I have spent over 2 hours reading, stories so similar to mine. So now I dont know what to do. Do I dare spend possibly $1,500-2,000 in repairs which may or may not fix the problem or do I ditch the Viking and take the loss? One of our dilemma is that our kitchen was totally custom therefore the Viking is tightly wall mounted with molding and trim all around. Would I be able to find a non-Viking refrigerator that would fit the same dimensions? I am so angry. This is certainly not what one would expect from a company like Viking. I am open to join a class action suit.

I was doing research and my sister had a Viking range, and then I started looking into Viking appliances. I liked them, plus they were made in the USA, and thats how I ended up buying a Viking refrigerator. Its a good purchase. I bought it from my dealers here in the Portland area. Its been excellent with the reps. The salesperson was very knowledgeable. He offered me different kinds and I said, Listen, just tell me about Viking right now, and he said, Okay. The ref I got has two features that I like. First, the temperature is very constant, and is exactly what the ref says. Second, theres a little ozonator inside the ref for keeping the food fresh and not smelling. However, I am going to call Viking because we have a little issue with the refrigerator. When I open the door, the drawers on both sides where you put your veggies in wont stay and would slide out if I dont put something underneath, like a piece of towel. This appliance is not leveled well. Other than that, its perfect. Hopefully, somebody can fix my refs drawers so they will not slide when I open the main door, because thats very annoying.

I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

I had heard about the Viking range at the culinary school, and I got one because I really liked its performance. Ive had my Viking range since November and its really good. I like the open burner and that it has the two ovens, and I love to work with the griddle. But it was actually pretty rough with the team at the Viking dealer where I purchased it. I bought it from the website and they dropped it off, but they didnt install it, and it was here lying in my kitchen without the feet for a few weeks. I was going back and forth with them on the phone, asking them to come and install it because its a heavy range and I couldnt install it myself or with my husband. I remember that I was preparing this huge dinner for Thanksgiving with my family and we just ended up going to my in-laws house. Finally, they installed my range in the first week of December, almost four weeks after it was delivered. Despite that bad experience with the delivery, however, I will surely recommend Viking. The experience I had with my Viking range was amazing. Everybody said theyre very impressed with my range, and I love it. I love to cook and bake in it.

Dishwasher 1: The on-off switch has failed 4 times! The first time was covered under warranty. The exact same problem kept occurring after the warranty expired. It was obviously defective from the beginning. After paying for the repair twice, Viking agreed to cover the part but I had to pay for labor again. Dishwasher 2: Leaked and needed a $350 repair in less than 4 years!I live in a major city and very few service companies service Viking. Appointments take weeks to schedule and parts are not stocked locally. Hence, I have waited up to 6 weeks for repairs by the time they come to diagnose the problem, order the parts and then come back to install. BTW, the Viking customer support people are friendly but are not able/authorized to do anything to accommodate on issues or expedite the process. I like my Viking gas cook top, double oven and microwave (have had Viking in 4 houses now), but I will NEVER buy anything Viking again.

I truly love my Viking range. I got it for less than half price, so I was happy. It was a floor model, an upgrade for a good price for what I was planning on getting for our kitchen, and it looks awesome. I use it a lot. I just wish it had a lower blow. It is kind of thermonuclear sometimes. Also, I wish that the oven would heat up a little faster. It seems to take longer than the range we had before, which was a much lower end. Other than that, it is all good. I would totally tell people to go for Viking.

We purchased our Viking 30 4 burner range in 2006 and have had to replace the spark ignition module three times in that period. It is a $180 part, and though it is easy to replace, it always results in a minimum service charge of $110 for the first hour. Adding it all up, thats nearly $600 in failed spark modules, adding significantly to the cost of an already-expensive oven range, but the worst thing is it is unreliable. You never know if it will fail the day before Thanksgiving or some other big event.

Weve had Viking before so we decided we want to have Viking again when we moved. We bought the Viking refrigerator and the gas stove. When we had a problem, it was taken cared of and weve always been satisfied. We had a little bad luck with the refrigerator because at first it had a dent in the door so it was returned. The ice maker, light, freezer, and the fan continue running on the second one so that was returned again. Weve got our third one since June the 26th and its now working great.

My wife first heard of Viking Refrigerators, and we went with them for the price of the unit, the model we purchased and the brands reputation. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and delivery was done on time. The style and the temperature settings are nice. However, I dont know if Viking was worth the money we paid for. Weve had less expensive brands in the past that worked as well or had fewer issues than weve had with it. It should be more reliable for its price. The water dispenser is leaking and the ice dispenser has been replaced twice since we purchased the Viking refrigerator. Also, the approved service provider that was recommended on Vikings website was terrible. They came on April 17th, ordered several parts and then they communicated but there hasnt been anything done. They said they havent gotten the parts in yet or they are not sure if theyve gotten the parts in yet. Im having to contact them to follow up, and theyre not calling me despite our verbal agreement. I already paid for the parts, too. Well never use those people again.

Viking should be sued. Its beyond me that this company that sells garbage to consumers for top dollar is still in operation. I guess if you never plan on actually using your appliances, then all is good and they look great. But if you would like an appliance that actually works and you intend to cook for family or friends, well then youre out of luck. You just flushed a chunk of money down the toilet! In 2009, we purchased all Viking appliances for our new custom built home. This included a refrigerator, separate stand alone freezer, 6-burner/griddle cooktop, double oven with warming drawer and microwave. This was quite an investment. However, since we cook and entertain so much, we felt it was well worth the cost for so-called top of the line appliances. Its truly unbelievable that every one of our Viking appliances has fallen apart, broken down and needed repair - which is not cheap by the way. Here are just a few of the problems: knobs falling off the cooktop, griddle on cooktop does not heat to proper temp, lock on oven for self-cleaning wont lock, microwave fuses blowing out (the inside is all GE), every drawer in refrigerator is cracked, freezer drawers cracked and racks dont slide out properly. I could good on, but I really just want to make sure that consumers do not invest their hard earned money on Viking appliance. Viking appliances are for show only, not for quality or function!

The quality of Viking Ranges is excellent. When I called their customer service and asked them, Will your stove do this? Will your range perform this?, they were able to answer my question and point me directly, and they have always been like that. In all the 8 or 9 months I’ve owned the range, I have not had anything outside of that. It has been consistent and direct. I’m very lucky to have had that Viking. It’s a really great piece of equipment and I chose it for its performance. There isnt one thing that I do in there that is subpar. I had a JennAir for 20 years before that so I knew the professional-level range. I was expecting it to be good. I wasn’t expecting it to be great, and it was great. Somebody would say, “Oh my goodness, you paid $10,000 for a range.” I did, but it performs. It does exactly what it says it does. It’s beautiful to look at too. It’s like a work of art. One of the best features of the range is the clean-up because you get cooking, start grilling this, sauteeing this, doing a sauce here and things spill and oil starts flying. And I can have that stovetop and everything wiped down and done in under 10 minutes which is a blessing. The range has to be the easiest range I’ve ever had to clean. I cook a lot in the kitchen. I make everything - my own pastas, my own bread rolls, crackers, soups and soup bases. I do everything on that and I grill. I do pastries and brioches. I do all sorts of stuff in there that everybody says the degree of difficulty is extreme, yet the results on these things are superior in that stove. Dinners and everything are like works of art. It’s like somehow my cooking went from being good to superior, and it’s that range.I also bake pies. As a matter of fact, I just made 12 dozen butter tarts. Never in my whole life have I ever baked a pastry at 325 degrees. It’s always 400 or 425. So, the first time I baked a pie, I’m looking at the Viking book, and theyre saying, 325, X amount of minutes. I thought it was insane. It has to be wrong. So I went to my old habits and baked it at 400. The results were abysmal. It was overbaked on the outside and raw on the inside. I did it again and I did it according to Viking. It was the best I have ever made in my whole life and that was where I then really sat down and started to read everything and anything I could on Viking and how to use this piece of equipment with optimum.I would recommend this range. My only thing is this is a professional-level range so theres a learning curve on it because it performs differently than a 799 General Electric special. This is like buying a Ferrari and thinking you’re driving a Chevy Volt. Theyre totally different things. The shame is that Viking is not out there more. They don’t have a place to really promote it. I looked at them all and I almost went with a Wolf. It was between Wolf and Thermador. What almost got me to go to Wolf was their pizza setting and they have a pizza stone. I sat down and I thought I really wanted that Viking, and I thought back of all the reasons why I wanted it. I had to search to see who was selling it. I couldnt find anybody in Canada. It was Bryan from Middleby Group that helped me.Bryan answered my questions immediately. If he said it, it was done. It was none of this backstepping or trying to fluff over or trying to play me like I was stupid. However, I will never use Corbeil, the company who they shipped it to, again. Their product knowledge and support were poor. Their ability to answer questions, even simple ones, was non-existent. And not only that, when I went into Corbeil and gave them feedback that the Viking Range is superior, the store manager said right to my face, Oh, this is a piece of crap. We won’t even sell these.Because the feedback from Corbeil was so poor, I was really apprehensive and unsure of myself and insecure when I first got Viking. I thought maybe I made the wrong choice but I didnt. It bakes bread to perfection. Pizza, 375 on my pizza stone, is the best. It rivals a pizza oven which my in-laws have. And I can get better results in my Viking than they get in their pizza oven, so you don’t lose anything. On Viking, they have a defrost cycle and a dehydrate cycle which are fabulous. The top burners are also ever fabulous. I wasn’t gonna get the sealed unit. I was gonna get an all-gas unit. Bryan said to me, “But you bake and you do this a lot. Get the dual fuel. You’ll be very happy with it,” and I’m really glad I did. He listened to me and he was able to guide me into making my choice. He knew his product. He was just a joy. He’s VP for all of Canada, and he answered or returned my call. He was so good.I have nothing but great things to say about Viking and I don’t understand why the appliance centers are abysmal. And it’s not just for Viking. It’s for all of them. They don’t know their product and it’s whatever theyre pushing at the time. This is why you get consumers who get the product in their house, and theyre like, “What the heck is this? This is a piece of garbage.” It degrades very quickly. The least little thing is a complaint, is a complaint, is a complaint. And it has nothing to do with these manufacturers but everything to do with those showrooms. I told my husband if I were new to the professional level, I would probably choose a Series 3. That’s a very nice-looking range. Probably 20 years ago, that’s what I wouldve chosen. Today, I’m dying to get into that Series 7. Because we’re thinking of moving in the next year, I’d have to do that Tuscany one. That’s a really beautiful one too. But I’m dying to get into the Series 7, the big honking one. My JennAir from my other home was quite large, but it was cumbersome, and the results were unpredictable. It was also difficult to clean. And I’ve experienced none of that with the Viking. It’s like coming out of purgatory and going into heaven.

I liked their stove and I was hoping that theirs would be better products than the other products right now. So far, nothing has broken down. I like my appliances, and everything I bought is great and excellent. At the Viking dealer, one of the salesmen helped me and as we were talking, the manager came up and then I was talking to him. Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

I had purchased a Wolf 30 gas range but the infrared broiler was not as good as 16 year old Viking gas range. Wolf is a very reputable and reliable company and took back the range that I had for a few months and returned my money (a first class outfit). So I purchased a new Viking range and am thrilled with some of the new features. The shelves in the oven roll out and one burner has more BTUs than the rest for big jobs. Also the infrared oven is excellent and the top is now sealed so liquid does not drip down into the guts of the oven and rust it out like the old one. The company is not as generous as Wolf and made me purchase a new set of knobs with the color of my choice (black) for better visibility and would not take back the silver ones as an exchange.

Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.

I was looking for a pro series refrigerator to match my professional appliances. The Viking Refrigerator met my requirements plus it was around my budget. The person from the store has been helping me with the appliances and choosing the right ones, and thought highly about the Viking Refrigerator. It’s very well lit with the LED lighting and it’s nice being able to open it and see everything. I like the number of shelves and the fact that I can reconfigure them. I have one that folds in half, so thats also neat because I may not need a full shelf. I could fold one of the shelves in half to fit a gallon of milk or orange juice, but if I dont have that, maybe I want to have the shelves instead. Also, the control panel lights up and temperature cool zone can be adjusted to cool whatever food you’re storing and it will keep it at that temperature plus the dial setting can be easily accessed because it’s in the inside of the door. Thats very helpful because with other refrigerators, they have it in places where someone cant even reach. The only issue that I had was that I had to have the refrigerator replaced 3 times because of the doors being not aligned and even. They tried to align the doors but the top part was wider open than the bottom. The store said that they couldnt do anything with it because the wheels in the back were not adjustable and they could not also adjust the doors. They could only do operating on adjustments. I called Viking service and they sent a repairman who said that it was actually defective and I need it to have it replaced. The reason it happened twice is because the store said, Well order a replacement, but when it came, one of the doors was dented. Theyve had the same issue, and they were not going to leave it with me. Theyre going to take it back. The store said, If youre not happy with the Viking maybe you could choose a different model or a different refrigerator. But even though the Viking refrigerator has those issues, I liked it and was already in love with it. I couldnt find that different selection. So then they delivered a new one and it was better than the other one. It wasnt wobbly but it still had an issue with the doors. However, when the repairman came and told me that it was defective, he said the doors could be fixed but not the wobbly part. They called the service again and I said, I got the replacement refrigerator. Can you come fix the door? They did, so now its good.At least, they let me keep the refrigerator until I got the replacement so I was not without a refrigerator. But because it was a special order it would take long time, like in a month. I wasnt happy because of everything else, but regarding the unit itself and how it operates, I would definitely recommend it. For the price, its great because it competes with the professional refrigerators.

We just had the ref’s three-year mark though and the alarm went off on it and it wasn’t refrigerating right. We called Viking and they were sending someone out in a week. But for some reason, the refrigerator just kicked back on and it was fine after a while. I’m concerned about the dependability of it, but, so far, the quality is good.

One of my friends bought a house that had a Viking Range and I was out of a range for three months because I couldn’t find anything I wanted, so I researched Viking. The people that installed the stove was fantastic and it’s a rarity now to find that anywhere. They were Justin and John and it was called Bald Eagle Delivery & Home Service. They were a father-son team and they were incredible. They worked together very well. I live up in the mountains of Colorado and I can’t get anybody out here to do anything. I got the stoves that are 410 pounds, the smallest one, and they took their time, installed it correctly and showed us how to use it. The overall experience was amazing. As opposed to going to Sears, Lowe’s and Home Depot, I won’t go to any other place but Mountain High Appliance in Colorado Springs because the service was good. We’ve had four ranges in the 20 years that we’ve lived in this house and they keep going out. My husband did not want me to get a Viking Range because of the expense, but I told him that I was getting it. The roll-out trays inside the oven are great. I love the cooking experience, having a propane range and the fact that the oven is electric. I got the dual range and I just cooked the most beautiful rhubarb strawberry pie yesterday. It was wonderful. I love Viking Ranges.

I hear about Viking Refrigerators everywhere. I hear about it online, I talked to people that bought my appliances. I go to the store and they show me the good one. I liked Viking for the size and the quality of the way the freezer was put together. It doesn’t have all those get your cherry coffee or pressurized in 12 different ways because those were the things that always break down and we don’t care about. Also, Viking has a good reputation. However, the stainless steel is impossible to clean decently and keep streak-free. It’s horrible. You can’t buy a good refrigerator with stainless steel anymore. It kinda breaks my heart. Also, the fridge gets too cold for gentle stuff that you put towards the back where the cold air comes out and that’s always been an issue. I thought it wouldn’t be with my fridge, but it is so I just raise the temperature. When the fridge was installed, I had Viking come out because it was making too much of the little gurgling noise that it has a reputation for making and I felt it seemed excessive. An authorized service representative came out, played with it for about an hour, pulled it out, plugged and unplugged it, couldn’t find anything wrong, then left. I then noticed after he left that the small panel at the bottom of the freezer was not reattached correctly and I was unable to do it myself because I was afraid I was gonna break it.I called the service people back and then they gave me a hard time saying that, “Well, the same guy that came out has to come out again. He can’t come out until after New Year,” etc etc. And I said, “But he didn’t do anything. I just need someone to look at this and reattach it.” He didn’t make any changes or any adjustments or anything that needed to be reevaluated or rechecked. He just plugged and unplugged it and said, “I don’t hear any gurgling noise,” and left. I didn’t like that. So I called Viking and said, “This is unacceptable. I don’t see any reason why someone can’t get out here quicker because nothing really was done.” Viking called the authorized service dealer who immediately called me back and sent someone out that same day which I very much appreciated. That was just excellent of Viking to do that.A second guy came out and it turned out that the freezer panel door was warped, and the thing at the bottom that didn’t attach correctly when the first guy came out., was damaged. All of that has been reordered and I was supposed to hear from them a week or so ago about coming out to replace those items and I haven’t. I’m still waiting to hear back from them, but their services were good and they stand behind the product.

I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I also like the look of it.

Bought both (Viking 30 All Fridge, and Viking 30 All Freezer) as showroom models at a discount manufactured 2009 and 2006. Thought they would be under warranty. Problems began - freezer does not freeze my ice cream. They replaced the coils, the fan, the thermistor, the thermistor connector wire. And STILL it does not freeze my ice cream. I have to manually defrost the freezer, then it works ok for a week then back again. Fridge is another story. Started off randomly beeping once a month or so. So I turned off the fridge and turned it back on, and it seemed fine. That was 3 months ago. Now it does not stop beeping, and the fan does not come on. We replaced the thermistor, the powerboard and still it’s beeping. Viking has now told me it is no longer under warranty and so Im on my own. They cant understand why it beeps. Ive had 4 different technicians come out and they are at a loss. Viking does not want to speak to me, since I am not a technician, and have no warranty. Problem is, it’s not easy to replace a 60 space in the middle of the cabinets and I cant think of replacing the whole kitchen which is only 2 years old.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great. However, the functioning of the doors is not good which might have been due to the installation. The center tab of the door doesn’t match correctly. It slams into the other door. The clearance there is just off sixteenths of an inch. Any weight that you put on the door would make that clearance such that that tab will pop out again then you end up closing the door and slamming the other door so you can close it. I called different people who are Viking certified to look at it three times but they couldnt fix it. I dont know if this door issue is a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. I have another cheap refrigerator for 600 bucks and that works a lot better when it comes to doors and functionality.

Then I have another house that I had a Viking oven in, and there was a failure of the lining there, and Viking replaced the oven. I was very impressed with their customer service that although a little slow, they stood behind their product. We got a six-burner and were getting used to a gas oven. Just describing facts: you can judge if you want to go through this headache. Bought in 2011; Model # CVDSC548T64SS. First problem: noisy vibrating fan required between 2012 and 2013 several service. First replacement fan had same problem needing replacement again. Now, in 2015 (oven is just 4 years old!!) the Temperature selector switch not working. Needs to be replaced (cost 435 $ + tax + service call). The service company has had to change this part 4 times already for other customers. I called BRIGADE but they refuse to consider this a defect.Considering that this range costs at least 10,000$ I CAN NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE. Just found out Viking no longer called Viking but BRIGADE! Daniel came a few times until June 6, 2013 to solve the problem of the noisy oven. Now Sep 11, 2015: control knob for temperature and mode not working clockwise only counter clockwise.

I purchased a new Viking Downdraft Ventilator unit (VIPR101) along with a Viking Countertop Range several years ago. Since then I have had 4 ON/Off switches on the unit fail all in the same place in the circuitry between the switch and the main board in the fan unit. After 4 identical failures it is clear the design of the part is inadequate which I have informed the Viking parts department of each time and yet they have not updated this part. After once again informing the Viking parts department and explaining that despite my infrequent need to use the fan while cooking I was told by the agent that this was reason for the failures because I do not use the fan each time I use the range as though I should use the fan to boil water. What a feeble excuse to explain a defective design on their part. It was clear evidence that they prefer to soak me for the many replacements rather than admit the problem and do something about it.My solution now has been to replace the switch with a ALCOSWITCH model TPC13C-O for about $2 rather than Vikings $70 price. Only a minor modification was required to the fan housing to install this new switch and this replacement has been working fine ever since. Unfortunately this will be the last Viking product I ever purchase having experienced the callous and greedy way they treat their customers. Future buyers beware!

I purchased mine from Elite Appliances in Dallas and my personal contact was Jeff. He was the most responsive vendor I’ve ever worked with. He would follow up on a regular basis via email, phone call, and text messaging. I was very impressed with him. He really took me on as a very personal customer and he was very good about understanding what I really needed. I was buying five or six different Viking pieces which was a big order that I’m sure was small to him. The product quality is exceptional and the range itself is very sturdy and more commercial like.

Its a tough year because we bought the Viking range during COVID. We bought it last October but we couldnt get it until February or March. It was the same with our SubZero refrigerator. Its just the way it was last year. Our contractor put the range in and the ease of install was fine. They did the kitchen remodel and then, we redid counters and cabinets. The range heats up fast and even, and the stove and the burners work well. But the grates started showing wear. There are dings in it, like you dropped something on the grates or theyre torn off, and we hardly use it. The quality is not standing up to the price we paid for it. One thing I would like to have known is to burn it up before you try to cook something in it. I should have read the directions. We set off the smoke detectors. A sticker on the window might be a good idea. My wife had surgery and we had someone come to help my wife, and she was the one who used the oven first. The burners were easy to use. I had gas for the last 30 years so it was not hard so we didnt think about reading the instructions. We read them after we almost had the fire department called. Fortunately, we have good ventilation in the house and we have a Viking hood but that was what was expensive.

Viking oven would probably be great if I could read the temperature or oven settings, but they wiped off years ago. After only two years, the black printed numbers and letters for the control setting wiped off. Never used any harsh chemicals. We only used window cleaner to clean it. No we have a very expensive oven that really cant be used because you dont know the temperature it is set on. I called Viking and they would only sell me another panel that would do the same thing. IMO this is not something that should happen within the lifetime of the unit!! If I were the manufacturer of a high end product like this, and this happen I would offer to make it right!! This could be a simple and inexpensive fix, but the refuse. I would rather have a oven from a old mobile home than this!! I dont even think Viking will even contact me about this to make it right. Save your money and go to a yard sale and get a G/E instead of Viking.

They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. I purchased my Viking side by side built in refrigerator in 2011... I have had ongoing problems... The dealer sent out a technician with a list of problems we were having... Water freezing within the door to dispenser, rattle within the grille, door hinge catches and pings when opened and closed. After a couple of times with dealer technician, they sent me to a local authorized Viking repair business. Numerous technicians were sent out to work on previous problems and then we started adding additional problems... The back wall piece that ice tray connected to came loose, and again no ice or water dispensing. Auger motor broke. As to date, 2014 I am still contacting technicians to repair my frig. I just contacted Viking direct and wanted to know what can be done! She apologized and apologized and yet said that Viking will not take any steps to review and/or replace my messed up refrigerator... I was so displeased. The Viking appliances are high-end and I paid quite a nice ticket price for a kitchen full of Vikings... And being American made, which is why we chose Viking. We thought they would be a service quality company. Not the case in my experience. I would not recommend Viking appliances.

We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

Viking was on sale and that led us to have a look at it. The construction of the range and the write-ups on it seemed generally good. Although, the one in Consumer Reports sucked and so it caused us to think about it. But I chose to ignore their relatively negative reports on the range. The sales representative was a very knowledgeable guy and took us through not only the Viking Ranges, but several of the other competitor ranges to look at the different features, trade-offs, and sort of helped with getting rid of some of the marketing stuff that doesnt matter as much as the functionality. We love it. Its been nice to use and cooks really well. The only thing that were having some trouble with is a piezo igniter on the front left. I have known Viking Ranges for a long time but I never used it. Its high-end, and if you have a Viking in the house, its a good sales point to have. This time, I wanted the best of the best and for the purpose of investment so I bought one. However, the range is not the best as I expected but Im 80% happy about it. It doesnt have timers and setting like all the electronic-oriented, high-tech ranges have these days. Its very simple. Basically, turn the knob on or off. I like it, but more than that, it will help me. I dont have a particularly good eye, and I cannot see if its on or not, so I have to get used to it by feeling the knob. Thats all to it for this range. If you need the fancy features, dont get this one because it doesnt have any. But it does the job right, very straightforward and no frills.I originally purchased this at the local distributor on August 2016. It took three months to deliver through ocean freight because we live in Hawaii. On the day they delivered, the two delivery guys came and unloaded it from the truck. We live two levels up so they had to walk up the stairs. They start to complain about how far up it goes. It is a heavy unit at 400 pounds, so I understood. But at the same time, they said, Oh, there are two dents, one on the front, one on the side. I decided to take it because I thought it could be replaceable parts. But halfway through, two out of the six knobs came off. So, I refused the delivery. The store handled it okay. They gave me the refund which took a while then theyre going to replace the same item order. I made sure this time that the delivery guys did a good job, and they did. The range had no damage cosmetically and the knobs were intact. Its all in good shape. But thats not the end of the story. It finally arrived in the kitchen. But the delivery guys are trucking company people. So, I didnt request for the installation. The power cord needed to be hooked up to the unit because its electric, which I can do. I had the manual, and I was going to follow that. So, I started to open the back-side door to install the cable, but I noticed that its not the same as the picture in the manual. I called Viking and they sent one of the local repair companies to check it. It was the manufacturers mistake to mount the parts completely the wrong way.The repairman was professional, so he dismantled the whole power cable inside the unit, which I have no way to do. They fixed it and Viking was good about it. I didnt have to pay for that. But theres one other problem. The range is square and there are four legs. But the product they delivered had only three. They sent me the leg but on a different day. Im not that young anymore and I cannot move a 400-pound range by myself, lift it up and then install the legs. Its very dangerous and its not easy. So, I called Viking again and they understood the situation. They asked me to contact the same people who installed the cable but they said they will not come to install one leg. I said, The job was not completed. But they never got back to me--very rude voice and he sounded crazy. Im a customer. Why do I have to be accused like that? So, I called back Viking. I wanted somebody else to get sent over. I know its small job but its impossible to install it, and I was ready to pay for it. A very nice guy came over and did a five-minute work. He knew what to do. He installed it and I didnt have to pay for it. The range is working and doesnt have a problem. Viking is a great name and has good quality but getting it in the kitchen was just terrible. I understand Viking made a mistake and they handled this situation generously. But the experience of the whole purchase was a disaster. If I have a choice again, Im not going to buy Viking again ever. This is the last.

Ive known about Viking Ranges for years. I wanted a six-range top, so we went out and look at them at ABT and they seemed to have the cleanest look. They had somebody who comes out especially for Viking who was very knowledgeable. When we first got it, it wouldnt go on properly so somebody came out and adjusted it. Then when I clean and put the pieces back together, one or two of the jets would flare. Also, when I put it down on low, I get this ticking sound which means that the gas is not coming through properly. It is also a little crowded, so I have to remove one rack to get anything big in. But other than that, I really like the quality.

Our Viking Refrigerator is crap. The drip pan was cracked and the door for top drawer shelf for dairy products keeps falling off. Were supposed to get a new one and thats been a month. Ive had four service calls in trying to figure out what is going on with it. And so far, no ones been able to figure it out. Also, it’s loud and the fans make some noise. Ive called to let Viking know several times but the only authorized repair dealer in our area is the one that broke the previous fridge. Theyre awful as well. Were still working with Viking. I spent 12,500 grand buying a new fridge. Im not gonna throw it away and go find something else until they figure out whats going on with it.

Viking is a major brand and it has a good reputation as a few others. And I like the look. It had what I wanted. I wanted gas for a burner and an oven and this model fit the occasion. We went to a dealer that carried their brand and we had a great guy. Everything went very well. The gentleman had to order it and he was nice enough to put it in his warehouse. Everything worked out well.

Ive only had my Viking range hooked up for three weeks and its as expected so far. The dealership we had gone to does not typically sell Viking appliances but they had one in stock and I got a good price on it. I liked the design of the product too. But I had to call for a couple of parts that were not included and they were willing to overnight the parts out to the house. But they were in the middle of inventory so I havent received the package yet. Other than that, the range cooks faster than our old stove.

We built a new home in 2011 and cook and bake regularly. Wanted what we thought were the BEST Appliances in the world but to our surprise the refrigerator and the dishwasher are the WORST!!! Our warranty ran out in August 2014. I called Viking to help us with the cost of the computer board in the refrigerator that doesnt work which means my refrigerator and freezer do not stay cold. The dishwasher takes hours to go through the shortest cycle, horrible! Shame on VIKING for not standing behind their product. I would not recommend anyone to purchase Viking Products.

We purchased the appliances almost two years ago but our house wasn’t completed until just now so, that’s a little bit of a difficulty. Other than that, our Viking refrigerators quality is very good and we like its size.

Viking is overpriced garbage. The larger oven bottom metal has warped badly. The stove top burners are hard to auto light. The middle griddle has had a temperature control problem since new and now barely heats up. The fridge/freezer condensation drip pan on the bottom overflows every other month. I believe this is because they tried to not use an electric heater for evaporation to save electricity but it is an energy pig anyways. I changed the ice maker which now works fine because it isnt made by Viking. The through the door ice dispenser has never worked consistently even after being replaced. The hood is okay but is a ** to clean properly. An appliance repairman told me Kitchen Aid is much better quality and the parts are cheaper but more reliable.

Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts t
Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts take WEEKS to get. And when they do arrive they dont always work. I have had my Viking range since 2006. In the beginning we had to have the ignitor switches replaced. I believe it was under warranty at the time. The smoke eliminator fell out of the larger oven but it is very difficult for the homeowner to replace as the heating element covers the area where the casing of the smoke eliminator and I do not feel comfortable removing the heating element. Another issue that we have had is the self-cleaning on the small oven stopped working. I have since figured the issue out that the door wasnt closing enough for the self-clean to work. I now need to push the door tightly closed until the self-cleaning function kicks in.Now comes my biggest issue. On the morning of December 25, 2016, I cooked a breakfast casserole in the larger oven. Later in the morning I went to put the turkey in the larger oven to find that there was no heat. The fan continued to run but neither the broiler or bake element would work. I called one of the two certified Viking specialists in my area. They couldnt come out until December 29. Once they arrived they called Viking who told them that I needed a new circuit board. I had issues with getting in touch with the Viking recommended Mr. Appliance after I put down a 50% deposit and was forced to call another Viking recommended certified appliance repair company. The second company called Viking Range and ordered the parts that were needed for the repair. It took 3 weeks to get the parts because they were in production. The parts finally came in and the repair guy came out to the house, put the part in... it didnt work. The circuit board was faulty. He then tried to move the small oven circuit board to the larger oven and it shorted because once he tried to put it back into the small oven it didnt work.So now I sit here on February 20, 2017, almost TWO MONTHS LATER, with no oven at all (it was difficult only having access to an oven that only holds a 9x13 pan) and no stove top (one of the repair guys told us that we had to disconnect the gas in order to repair so we had to hire a plumber to come out to disconnect the gas for the low low price of $130. That was done on 1/3/17). I have since had to purchase a countertop burner because I am assuming these parts will take weeks to get. Every Appliance Repair company complains about how hard it is to get in touch with Viking Range. I am fed up with Viking Range and will never recommend their products to anyone, especially for the price.UPDATED ON 04/07/2017: I continue to stand by my stance on NOT purchasing Viking products. It took close to $1700!!! (Over $1200 was for parts alone - several that werent needed had Viking been able to figure out what was wrong with the oven) and close to THREE AND A HALF MONTHS TO FIX my range. First due to the fact that circuit boards are manufactured by different companies and thus are not made the same so they need to be rewired to adapt to your oven. Second, parts take a long time to get. 2-3 weeks was the average time it took to get my parts. Third, Viking has a problem figuring out what is wrong with their OWN product.

The last one I had was a Viking Range. We had it for 18 years and it finally kept locking and wouldnt open so we couldnt keep it because it was really a nightmare. The company that sold me the oven at the store were responsive but they said they didnt service them. They gave me the numbers of some Viking dealers and nobody called me back. I kept contacting Viking directly and it took a long time. Finally I had to call the dealer back and say, “Look, you gotta help me here.” And they did. They found me somebody to service within the area. It was great but Viking itself is hard to access. They need to be more user-friendly. Getting treatment for the one that was broken and wouldn’t open was impossible. We got a new one because it was the only thing that fit into the space that we have on short notice because I was giving a party for about a hundred people. However, I wanted something that was easier to clean and the stove top is awkward to clean. Im getting to the point where I care less about aesthetics anymore but convenience.

13 years ago, when we built our house, we bought a Viking refrigerator. About two years ago, we put $1100 into it because it quit working. The guy said it was better than new then about three months ago the refrigerator door fell off. They gave us a whole new one so now I have a new Viking Refrigerator. However, I dont like it as well as my old one because I dont think it holds as much. And already, the plastic is cracked in one of the drawers and I dont know how it happened. We had that problem with the old one, but not this soon. The drawer in the new unit is not extra full, it goes in by itself, and you just give it a little shove and it slides in. I like that feature and its better for me. But my other one have more of a tall shelf on one side so taller things would fit like a wine bottle say and its pretty. Their reps are very nice and they were very good about getting us a new refrigerator. When our refrigerator door fell off, luckily it only grazed my husband. It hit him on the shoulder but he was walking away from it. But it did damage my covered and wood floor. Theres also a big gouge out of my cabinet doors which Ive had somebody come to look at and theres no way that it can be fixed. It has to be replaced. Some of the boards on the floor have to be replaced too which means that they have to redo my whole floor because its an open hardwood floor. In their email to us, Viking said that they wanted our homeowners to do it. I checked with my homeowners and found that its going to raise my insurance. We have a $1500 deductible. So Im in the process of getting bids to send to Viking. Im not happy about that part of it and if it had hurt my husband worse, theyd have a lawsuit on their hands. Also, I feel that we werent notified of this problem with the Viking and were lucky there wasnt any grandkids here.

We purchased a Viking Gas Range this summer for our kitchen renovation. We were excited about our purchase as we had saved up for this particular gas range. After install, we have been less than impressed. When preheating, the gas oven makes a very loud bang! (As if metal is expanding inside.) It scares me every time I hear it, even though I know its coming. When I called customer service, I was told once that it was normal and a second time, I was put on hold for 20 + minutes, only to hang up because I didnt feel my concern was being valued. We also smell a very strong smell of gas or exhaust when the gas oven is on.My concern is that the loud bang and smell of gas/exhaust should not be present in an appliance that is so expensive. We expected higher quality when we made this purchase. Ive tried calling customer service and entering a claim on the website (which seems to be permanently down and unable to accept claims online). I want to be in love with this purchase, but Im not. In fact, I feel a little uneasy using the gas oven due to the experience Ive had so far.

I know of Viking Ranges as being a good brand. I like the combination of its style and size and its durability and simplicity. I didn’t want something with a lot of electric controls and my range seemed like their basic gas, almost commercial style gas. It has a big oven with a big range top and I like its clean lines, stainless steel finish that it looks like a professional range, commercial style oven. I bought it through PC Richards and their reps were good. They were incredibly knowledgeable. However, I’m a little disappointed because the oven broke about four months ago. The hinges on the door just stopped closing the door completely, I had no idea why. Also, I cannot turn the flame down low enough. There’s a lot of BTUs. They’ve now referred my range to their service department and it has taken awhile to order pieces. It has been a very long process and it is still waiting for a repair. I can still use the range though. Overall, my experience was generally very, very positive.

We bought a Viking refrigerator in 2005 and since then we had nothing but problems with it. It started with leaking water and damaging our floors and continued with changing 3 ice-makers in it which we still have problems with. The water dispenser freezes frequently and recently the door hinge is getting loose, not closing properly. We are afraid of injuries in case it comes off (as it has happened to other owners) and what makes it worse is the companys rude and nasty attitude when contacted. Th experience with Viking has been good so far. The silver is fantastic but it’s funny how things are made nowadays. The old Viking stove was a lot heavier and solid compared to the new one. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. But in trying to clean it up, I take the grates on and off and I noticed that the shiny part that’s the top of the stove scratches super easily. My last one didn’t do that so the coating isnt as good as it used to be.

We bought a home a year ago. It’s not a brand new home and we needed to update its kitchen. We liked to cook, so we were looking for some of the well-known brands. I have a younger sister thats a chef, so she told us about the usual Viking, Wolf, Sub-zero, Cove kinda thing and we began to research those brands as we were preparing to replace the appliances in our kitchen. The Viking refrigerator seems like a nice durable unit. I have noticed the difference from a GE or a KitchenAid in here before. It seems to preserve the food longer as they claim with the freshness system, preventing spoilage. So, that was quite noticeable. It does seem like the fans run a lot although one of the installers explained to me that there are several fans in there to balance temperature and things like that, but Im never sure which ones going so Im never sure if this thing is running all the time or just frequently. We had to put a side by side built-in in because of the way the kitchens designed and there really wasn’t, at least at the time, an option to have the water and ice dispenser together. It does have the ice dispenser, but there really wasn’t any option for the filtered water which would have been nice. And even though it does make the ice, there is no water filter in the fridge itself which isnt really a concern. We have good water in the community, but for constructive feedback, itd be nice to have that option even if youre just making ice.The representatives were very helpful. I worked with Grand Appliance for the refrigerator. And they had a unit that was ordered for a job and then the customer changed their mind and went with a French-door unit, so they gave me a nice deal on this one since it was still brand new and just misordered. But they did a nice job with that in getting it here and installing it. So, that part went well. I did have one follow up because right after it was installed, one of the little pins that keep the door from swinging had broke off and I called Viking and since it has only been a few days, they sent someone right out to replace that little pin. I would recommend Viking Refrigerator. Its a high quality product.

We’ve had to have some repairs for every appliance since I’ve lived here in one year of owning brand-new products. So I’m not exceptionally thrilled. I have a fridge, a stovetop and a microwave. There was some build-up of ice in the freezer. The most aggravating part is that I sit and wait for installers all day long. Then, they do it over and over and over, so it doesn’t sit very well. I had three times they had to come out for the freezer and the stovetop. Twice they had to come out for the microwave. But at this moment, everything is working fine.

When our Viking range was first brought in, the range had a panel that wasnt squared. It had been assembled off-kilter so people had to come out and take care of that. Then getting the range set up was a little bit challenging as well. We put the full range in the island so we needed to get a downdraft. But the Viking dealer didnt seem to be quite as knowledgeable to be able to tell our builder what exactly was gonna be needed to install the downdraft. They gave us the specifications but it didnt really include anything as far as the downdraft being vented down underneath the floor. When you have a cooktop, the downdraft goes in the cabinet underneath. So our case was a little different too and that was partly why they were unfamiliar with doing it that way. This range also basically came with a free dishwasher but it doesnt dry. It also has had a strange odor from day one. Then for the warranty, I went online and put the information for the range. But for the dishwasher, there was a registration-type card. I mailed it but it came back to me because the address was wrong. It made me ask whether that was why they were getting rid of the dishwashers. But other than those, everything has been great so far. I like the overall look and style of the burner. The range also has a light that comes on when you open the door. Then there is a little button that you can push for the light to come on when the door is shut. But the light doesnt come on and it has never worked. The supplier from whom we purchased the oven has given me a number to call though. That aside, the quality is good. We also got the griddle that you can put off and on the top of any of the burners and its a great feature. I love that thing. Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

We bought a home and had the full line of Viking appliances put in the home. The dishwasher has broken down roughly 6 times in 4 1/2 years of use with a family of 4. The worst part is that once it breaks down it takes about a week to get a service tech to your home and EVERY TIME Viking needs to order parts. Parts take 4-6 weeks to arrive!!! So every time the Viking dishwasher breaks down we have no dishwasher for about a month to a month and half. So in 4 1/2 years our Viking dishwasher has been off of service for about 6 months. Customer service will not help and you CANNOT get transferred to a supervisor. Viking rep REFUSES to transfer us for additional help. I have NEVER seen such poor service with any company let alone one with appliances at the high price point of Viking. The plastic in the refrig cracks and has been replaced 3-4 times in 4 years!! DO NOT BUY VIKING IS MY BEST ADVISE. It is not worth the money and NO customer service!! I have to give them a rating but, 1 Star is TOO HIGH!!

We moved into our custom home in September 2010, in which we have a Viking refrigerator (36), a Viking freezer (36), 48 Viking range, Viking grill and a Viking range hood (over the grill). Every Viking appliance has already been repaired at least once since September of 2010 except the range hood. The latest repair was to the 36 freezer for which Viking charged $362 to replace a PCB assembly, stating that we were out of warranty. Their customer service team reads a scripted you are out of luck statement and definitely leaves you with the impression that they couldnt care less! This is high end price, low class service! Stay away from Viking. Problems might be inevitable, but for the spend, you should expect someone who at least gives you the impression that they are listening and are making an attempt to assist!

We purchased ours about two years ago, but it has only been installed for about six months. There was an issue where the company we bought it from didnt deliver several components for the stove, and we didnt realize it until well after it was purchased. They couldnt do anything to help us. It was difficult to get in touch with the Viking parts department and identify what the correct pieces were that we needed to order to fully install the stove. But the stove served us well since weve gotten the parts we needed and had it installed.

I chose Viking for their reputation, the quality and the design but I didn’t have a time to go in to make the purchase so I did everything over the phone and it was great. Ive had the Viking range for about a year and a half now and its great. It was a little pricey but if its something you really want and you believe that youre gonna use all the time, its definitely a good investment. One of the springs on mine was a little faulty but I dont think it affected the quality. I just wish that the warranty was more user-friendly, in that they would contact you to update their warranty. I didn’t know that I wasn’t registered under warranty so after I had to get it serviced. That aside, I like the convection action. It circulates the heat and allows me to check on it.

I like that Viking products are made in the USA, and so I had their products in a previous home too. We also decided to buy an entire Viking kitchen for our guesthouse. That includes a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cooler, and microwave drawer. However, we had a problem with the dishwasher and Viking took almost nine months on it. They ended up having to replace it because the technician messed the other one up.Our refrigerator has also been leaking at the bottom for the last five months. The thing is its in the guesthouse and it’s hardly used. The parts that have issues are all under warranty of about six to eight years. Ive been dealing with a gentleman from Viking who has been trying to get technicians down here. One tech took off the door as well as the back panels, and now the door wont close and it leaks on both sides instead of one. It’s very frustrating because other than that one tech who came, I’ve still yet to get another one to come and look at the refrigerator and were about ready to throw it out on the street. My liking of Viking has always been the cooktops or ranges. In fact, I just had my 60-inch installed in my kitchen in the main house. I still like the product. Its just very frustrating to deal with customer service. Their service and follow-up is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anybody. Ive been in the restaurant business for 30 years and people respect the opinion. So I cant make a recommendation when something is lopsided.
