I like the size of the Viking refrigerator. Also, the icemaker is something that I like. Its on the inside, not on the outside. Theres a small bracket thats built in to keep the door from opening all the way. But that broke and they told me that it was common breakage. It probably could be made out of some better materials so it wouldnt break. Other than that, the customer service was good.

My wife got this unit thinking we were upgrading from a Samsung. To my surprise this unit was horrible. Forget about the fact of how small it was, but if you put eggs next to the ice maker you ended up with frozen ones!! Since this was a French style with the split doors we were blessed to have our jarred fresh garlic freeze when the unit was set at 40 degrees. After the technician came out the second time he told us that this unit with the Viking name was in fact either a Maytag or a KitchenAid. Nice!! Im off on a mission to purchase a Sub Zero - never to buy Viking products again!!!

I love Viking but the range that I got have been serviced already because of the ovens. The sensors on the temperature controls were popping off and now, it doesn’t hold a constant temperature. It constantly clicks all the time and re-lights. Id have to call back in on it again and get it fixed. But for the most of it, its been okay. But I wasnt too happy with the salesperson from the Viking dealer. When you spend $20,000 with somebody for your appliances in your kitchen, you would think youd get a little faster response out of people. Ive left messages with him for over a week and never been contacted back. Also, the appliances at the house weren’t installed properly. I had to call back on that. Also, I went by the details that Viking put out for the measurements on building cabinets and your measurement. If I built one to those measurements, wherein on the top side, behind the LED instrument panel was a little bracket that was screwed in to protect the controls and that little notch out was an inch high by 10-inches across, and there was no way I could put the microwave in that opening. It still got to be notched out that inch by 12-inches to get it in there. Its a mis-drawing on the diagram. Viking needs to look at those details and make sure everythings correct cause the installers wanted to knock out my stalls on the cabinet. But my cabinets werent screwed and nailed. Mine were dowels and biscuits cut together and glued. If he had knocked that stall out of that cabinet, he would have ruined that cabinet.

I bought a Viking range, dishwasher, and refrigerator at the same time. I heard it was a pretty good brand and I liked their looks. Ive had them for six months and so far so good. We purchased from a Viking dealer and the refrigerator is competitive with others in the price range. They came within five days after I ordered. It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. They need better customer service availability, like on weekends. We’re happy with the overall quality, however, its easily scratched and stained with oily fingerprints. I think that goes for all stainless appliances though.

Our Viking refrigerators good. We built several homes and Im a cook, so the Viking range is what I wanted, and then they were doing a deal. You can get a couple of different things, so I went with that and got the refrigerator. My favorite thing is the very bottom shelf. You can put like pieces of boxes and weird things. Its a well thought out storage. Its a good use of space. As far as the quality, its what Ive expected for a built-in. Its good. One of the little doors where you put your butter in the door was cracked on the inside but that kind of happen.

Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.

In the year 2000 my husband and I bought a home and shortly after began an extensive and costly kitchen remodel. We spared no expense and believing we were buying the best, we bought a Viking refrigerator. In hindsight, it was our worst decision. Almost from the very beginning we began having problems. The ice maker stopped working, the door accessories and drawers began to crack to the point that one of the condiment containers has a huge hole on the bottom rendering it totally unusable. Certainly not the quality youd expect from such expensive appliances. When food started spoiling we knew we had a big problem and called Viking for help. By then, of course, warranty had expired but they recommended a local service company. By the third visit with no resolution we knew we were dealing with an incompetent repairman and my husband, at this point beyond frustrated, practically threw him out of our home. We never got any satisfaction from Viking. And its incomprehensible to me that after spending thousands of $$$ on a beautiful, state-of-the-art refrigerator I am forced to make ice in plastic ice cube trays and keeping milk, cheese, cold cuts and veggies in my old GE in the basement because the temp is never cold enough no matter how we adjust the settings. Last night I opened the door to put something away and felt warm air. The Viking finally conked out. So, this morning my husband and I are debating who to call. And as I google Viking, I came across your reviews and, can I say, I am shocked by the hundreds of negative stories I have spent over 2 hours reading, stories so similar to mine. So now I dont know what to do. Do I dare spend possibly $1,500-2,000 in repairs which may or may not fix the problem or do I ditch the Viking and take the loss? One of our dilemma is that our kitchen was totally custom therefore the Viking is tightly wall mounted with molding and trim all around. Would I be able to find a non-Viking refrigerator that would fit the same dimensions? I am so angry. This is certainly not what one would expect from a company like Viking. I am open to join a class action suit.

Have problems with this since 2008, with the little square pipes that connect from the refrig section down into the freezer freezing up solid with ice. When this happens the refrigerator warms up as it cuts the circulation from the freezer to the refrigerator. I have tried modifying the ducts to no avail... This is a crappy design, never seen anything like this. Ive had GE appliances that are almost 50 years old that never ice up... The VIKING is defrosting, but it looks like the cycle is too short to warm the ducts properly - either they should be tied physically to the coil for warming or changed to teflon so ice wont stick....ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET DATA OR SERVICE BULLETINS from VIKING, and their STAFF are clueless.... These appliances are of such poor quality, how do they manage to market this junk? Class Action? Consumers Reports?? Someone needs to shake these guys up.... The basic design is good but the product delivery is awful...

The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, “Your refrigerator’s not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.” The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.

The refrigerator has doors that did not line up properly from the time it was received brand new. Viking already replaced the door on the frig side, and they have sent out techs to fix the alignment problem, and they sent their head guy. None of these efforts fixed the problem. Viking replaced the motherboard on the refrigerator too. The shelves and doors and drawers all have broken multiple times. Food freezes, milk freezes, we have wasted thousands in spoiled food because of this faulty refrigerator. Viking is now pulling the it is out of warranty game although they promised me they would extend the warranty since they wanted me to allow them to fix the original Pro Series Refrig when they should have replaced the lemon appliance from the start. Dont trust them. Make them put it in writing. Better yet, dont let them constantly repair their junk, and make you live through inconvenience in a kitchen you paid $25k for their top of the line Pro Series. Insist on a refund or new replacement, otherwise you will be constantly living with techs and once the warranty expires they will say you are all on your own.Viking replaced the double ovens, and the two dishwashers. Amazing no more problems and no service calls since the original junk was removed from my home. It should be noted that we replaced the dishwashers with LG, and no problems. In fact our CA home has Sub Zero, Fisher & Paykel and Miele, and they are all twice the age of this Viking junk that is in our AZ home and no problems. We also have Kitchen Aid in our TX home and no problems. Our Viking problems over the past 3 years since building our new home has caused huge inconvenience, and the problems are obviously correlated to the poor quality control that allowed such defective appliances to be sold. As with all the other Viking problems, once the original appliance has been removed and a different one installed, we have zero service calls. Why would Viking Customer Service fight me on this? Viking had a great rep who did such a good job of trying to correct the problems with all of their other appliances, yet they now will not acknowledge the multiple times their techs have been out and in fact they recently stated there has only been one functional service call. Apparently Viking does not keep good records or they dont consider replacing an entire door, or replacing the motherboard, or replacing cracked drawers, or fixing a constant alarm, or fixing a freezing of milk problem, or replacing cracked shelves, or replacing broken rollers, etc to be functional service calls. If Viking will live up to their commitments they made to me I will gladly let other consumers know but as of this writing they are ignoring me and leaving me with a broken refrigerator, one that was broken from day one, and hiding behind a warranty expiration date. I called who they claim is the head of all customer service, but she would not speak with me and the receptionist told me someone else is actually the head for my region. I do not want to speak with a regional head, as this is a matter that Vikings Chief Quality Officer needs to be made aware of. Viking if you care about your customers you will have someone contact me immediately to remedy this horrible situation.

Our Viking Adventure. In 2012 we started planning for a major remodel to our home, and part of this was gutting and updating the Kitchen. One of our choices for the kitchen update was an 8 burner (6+griddle) gas and electric range. We had always been Thermador and Sub Zero people having used these products with no issues in two previous homes for 25+ years.Viking had always had a big reputation in the range market so we decided to try one of their products and in early 2013 we purchased a new Viking range from Setzers Appliance in Ocala, FL along with other non-Viking major appliances. The range was installed in fall of 2013 by a professional installer, along with all the other appliances, at a charge of 250$ per appliance. Initially we were thrilled with the new toys but then the igniters on the range had to be replaced. This was covered under warranty. Then the doors started sagging and wouldnt seal. Viking tried to fix this on two occasions but the issues never did get resolved. Then the small oven wouldnt maintain temperature, often being off as much as 100 degrees. The range was still under warranty and they attempted to fix this... they got it close but it never did work reliably. There were several service calls over the next few years, all documented and covered by warranty covering mainly issues with the ovens not working properly. We also had a very... irresponsible and grouchy, shall we say? local service person in the Gainesville, FL area.In August of 2018 the small oven again started not maintaining temp by more than 100 degrees. We called our local service man and he gave us an appointment time a week from that day... which he missed. We called him after the no show and he said oops, I forgot.... be there by 1 tomorrow. He showed up, turned on the oven, borrowed a thermometer and said the bad news is you need a new control board and it is 600$. We told him to hold off until we contacted Viking and he took his check for the service call and headed down the road.We contacted Viking and the service rep said to have the tech email him the info on the range so he could see if Viking could do anything despite the range being out of warranty because of the extensive list of issues on the service history. We called the service tech and he said he was driving and would call back for the email address when he got back to his office. Never called. Called him a week later, again, driving... will call back when I can. Never called. This went on for almost 6 weeks before we contacted Viking again and laid it all out... he was very helpful and said, Send me all this in writing and I will see what I can do and try to find you another service tech. After a month or so it boiled down to sorry, nothing we can do including apparently the inability to even provide another service tech in all of north Florida. We are now pursuing getting the range repaired on our own and with a rather bad opinion of our 13,000.00 Viking range. It may be petty but I take some small pleasure in knowing for a fact that at least three other couples purchased products from other makers after hearing about our experience over the last few years. So, while I know there must be a reason for Vikings reputation over the years I and my wife are... less than impressed.

Bought the built in refrigerator and freezer. Freezer ice maker kept failing. Had five different people come look at it. No one fixed it each time. I would call back and they would not have any records of the repairs. The freezer door wont close completely leaving ice build up on the inside. Their solution is to push at the top of the door. The hinge is leaning. Their solution... There is no fix, we cant make that hinge any longer. The refridge is freezing things so had another company come out. They said needed some new compressor. Took everything apart (six months later after they got the parts) and turns out the leak is in the wall of the unit, so it is not repairable. Have to pay 3000 to get a new unit. Now I have a new unit... But cannot find anyone to install it. It is not a slide, the old one out kind of install. Would not recommend Viking to anyone.

I bought a refrigerator and I feel very good about it. The dishwasher which came with the refrigerator was kind of faulty so we had to change that off. Viking promised us when we bought them that there was a 10% cash back but we havent received that cash back yet. Also, my fridge got delivered in three months. It did not come at a reasonable time when it was supposed to come and it was difficult to chase anybody. Viking could be better in communicating things. Viking Professional Microwave VMOC205WH - Purchased this $1000 microwave as a Christmas gift for my wife in 2010. It replaced a 20 year old microwave (that still worked). Will not pop popcorn to this day. My wife noticed a place in back that looked like rust a couple of years ago. It has progressively gotten worse. I finally contacted Viking and told them that their stainless steel (inside) was rusting. I was given a Viking service center to contact. It had started sparking inside at rust occasionally. The tech came out and said he was not going to charge service charge because it was obviously a manufacturer defect. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust. He took photographers and turned in report to Viking. I called Viking and they said they needed photographs, to which I replied, the tech has already sent them. Approximately two months later, I received a call from tech service center (not Viking) that Viking was waiting for receipt. I contacted the store that I purchased the microwave and after much searching, found invoice and forwarded it to tech center who sent it to Viking. Their response was it was out of warranty. I had a 20 year old $200 microwave that performed well, yet this top of the line Professional unit didnt make it two years and then would not stand behind their product. Getting ready to replace stove and refrigerator. Guess which brand that will not be considered? Very disappointed. The place where I purchased unit said that Vikings service was horrible. I can certainly testify.

I liked Vikings reputation with the stoves, and form and fit. However, Im disappointed with the refrigerator. We already had three service visits. We find it loud, which is a surprise to us. And it tends to ice things up in the fridge. The dealer has been responsive but they havent been able to solve the problem. They said we have to live with the icing issue. Thats by the design of the refrigerator. And that is also true of the compressor fan noise, which is, compared to the unit that we had that this replaced, its significantly louder than I would expect any in-home refrigerator to be. And especially a high-end refrigerator like Viking. For instance, for a long time it was loud enough that even the service person said, “Yes, that sounds like a failed bearing on the compressor fan.” And they came out and replaced that compressor fan. So they did that service. The original fan certainly had more of an issue. But the replacement fan is still significantly louder than the fridge that we had beforehand. If I could do it again, I wouldnt buy Viking.

Our 30 four burner Professional Viking range is a handsome appliance, but I bought it for cooking and not for looking. Its been a huge disappointment given its cost. The burner ignitors were immediately erratic, continuing to spark after ignition or refusing to spark. Then the oven ignitors failed, something that has to work in order to use the oven. We got them replaced at a ridiculous expense. The Viking-certified repairman was quite forthcoming with details of the Viking scam as he laughed all the way to the bank. Now the burner ignitors do not work, but we simply use a butane lighter. No problem. However, now the broiler ignitor is failing and I have to reach in with the lighter to light it with a nice whump. Im worried about my eyebrows. Dont buy Viking products. Poor quality companies like Viking deserve a quick death.

I like to cook and I wanted a gas range. Initially, I looked at the Wolf one which was a very nice range but the Viking range was less expensive. Plus, my best friend Jody has a Viking range and she likes hers so that was good. It fit in my space as well so it was economical and it was still an upper-end range. Its been installed for about two months but Ive only used it three times now for various reasons. It takes a very long time to heat up to temperature so that I can start cooking. And the other day, I was cooking and I was wondering whether it runs or goes off when it is at temperature. I still cant figure it out and I have to get used to it so its not confusing. However, the installation was dicey from the beginning and that was frustrating to me. I was under the impression he was a Viking installer who knew how to install Viking products, but he wasn’t and it was a nightmare. I also got the convection microwave hood and the installer separated the bottom of the microwave to shove the deflector between the bottom plate and the microwave. The deflector and screw were falling off of my microwave. It was leveled left to right but it wasnt leveled front to back and it was tilting so far forward that things were rolling out of the microwave. I asked him if he can put something behind it to support the whole thing. He got sassy and said that it’s an older house and that happens.I called Viking about it and talked to five different people. The first gentleman was so kind and said he was sorry. The first young lady I got after him was also really great. Then I got to talk to the next rep when it came to having to arrange having to arrange to have somebody to come out, I was told that I could pay somebody to come out and look at it because they dont do installations. They also said that they don’t train people to do the installations and that the instructions are online. So I should look online to see how to install my Viking range and microwave myself and tell the installers how to install it? I dont think so. Theyre not even typical stick it in and plug it in products. It didnt make sense to me that they’re all behind quality and made in America but they don’t train people to install their products. And when they’re not installed properly, its not covered by warranty. If they dont train their people to install their products then they dont have to be responsible for the warranty. Its bad business. Also, when I asked them to give me a name of anybody who can install the appliances, they told me that they can’t recommend anybody. The only thing that Viking would cover was if something was wrong with the products under warranty. So Viking has repair people but they can’t recommend anybody to do the installations. Its a stupid system.I went around and around with these people and I was very upset and distressed. In fact, I told them that Im an unhappy customer with nearly $18,000 worth of appliances sitting here that I cant use because Viking doesnt care that they’re in working order so I can enjoy them. Then, they said they could send somebody out and but it’s $100 an hour and since I dont live near any place where they keep anybody, I have to pay a trip charge. But it already cost me $430 to get the products installed and they weren’t installed properly. I was also told to call Best Buy instead because that’s where I bought the appliances and theyre the ones who are going to care if the products are installed since its their reputation. I never received a letter from Viking and I would have also appreciated if somebody would call me instead of me leaving voicemails for people to call me back. So I have this beautiful convection microwave and this Viking range that I have to wait four weeks for somebody to come out and look at them. Im not impressed with Viking’s service and I’m extremely dissatisfied with my experience. I’m also very unhappy with the way I was treated and the attitude of their reps. Then, now that the range is under a year, Viking came and took a look at it, only to find out that the knobs are not even on the right place on the stove. Thats why it still was not working. I’m done with Viking and I would not recommend them to anybody.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.

I am convinced these products are the most poorly engineered and manufactured kitchen appliances on the market today! And very expensive to boot! My suggestion for anyone looking to buy new appliances for their home... STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!

Viking Refrigerators could pack a little bit better. When we pulled it out of the box, there were one or two dents on the front of the fridge that happened when it was getting taken down off of the warehouse and shipped. Also, it makes a little bit more noise than a conventional refrigerator but I’m assuming that’s because of the size of it and the inner workings. Whenever we noticed that it was running a little bit louder than we thought it would, we would call them to come out, look at it, and make sure there was nothing wrong with the fans or anything like that. And it was super easy getting somebody out. Overall, the quality of the refrigeration has been pretty decent. It has sturdier build quality, the doors close better, and the drawers inside of it slide better.

We went to Voitek and Viking was offering a buy-one-appliance-get-one-free in 2019. When we were buying the stuff, the sales rep was fabulous. But Ive had some problems with my Viking products. During the beginning of COVID, I had to be very understanding about trying to get people out here to fix it. But once COVID uplifted, they kinda dropped the ball for me. We couldnt get anybody to help. Then I reached out to Viking myself and now Viking is trying to help me. But cooking the range is fabulous. Its my favorite product in the whole world. I love to cook on it and to bake in it. I love to do everything with it.

Fridge is leaking water on to the floor after 4 years. Authorized service tech didnt find anything wrong but changed thermostat just in case was the problem. Fridge still leaks. YouTube videos show it is likely a clogged drain line. After taking apart fridge we can see the evaporation tray is completely dry, yet water is leaking on floor. Why didnt tech even check this??? Seems pointless to call tech back since he was so clueless but we dont know how to fix it. Also the shelves broke too easily.

Viking Built-In Convection Microwave Hood - I have owned this appliance for less than 5 years and it is already inoperable. The machine started buzzing and burning. A repairman told me that it has defective parts. Nothing caused by us. Total cost for the repairs is $576. The warranty states that only one part is covered for 5 years - of course, not the parts I need. The company (Viking) wasted a lot of my time only to state the same, Sorry, not covered. Frustrating. I could have bought a $50 microwave from any big box shop that would probably still be working today. Viking is supposed to be top of the line. What a joke.

I love the Viking range. I was looking for a larger range, and I liked the fact that it has two ovens- the regular oven and another one. The griddle is awesome and my husband loves all of the burners. It’s also pretty to look at. I ordered it through a catalog and when it was delivered, the delivery people left it outside of my house. They said they would come back to bring it in the house. Then they said it was damaged. I tried to have it picked up by them, but they wouldn’t do it. They said my husband signed that it was okay. My sons had to bring it into the house and when they brought it in, they broke one of the knobs off. But otherwise, the stove was not damaged. I had to call Viking to get a new part and they did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend Viking.

The dealer, Mario, did an awesome job of telling us all the benefits. We ended up going with Viking because he said that they stood behind their product and he had never heard complaints from anyone. That was the bottom line where we ended up buying 30 some thousand dollars of equipment there from Best Buy. I bought an entire kitchen of Viking. We have a microwave, a wine cooler, the gas range and the hood. So, all we need is a ship now to be a complete Viking. The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I also had some issues with the icemaker but we got that resolved and it was more of a connection issue. We had some issues with our dishwasher and we had to have it replaced. Also, I’m disappointed that the French oven doors didnt seal correctly. But other than that, they look fine. Were working through the service folks that Viking recommended to us and right now, Im still waiting for those. But so far, Im very happy.

We had a Thermador double-wall oven and a cooktop in the house we owned before and my husband and I liked the way they were set-up. When we bought our current house, we didn’t want the ovens in the wall and just the cooktop because it’s a smaller house. We decided we wanted a freestanding slide the stove in with an oven and cooktop. We liked the looks of the Viking Ranges. The handles were substantial and were very much like the Thermador which was the professional model. We bought the gas range in December of 2010, but we did not take delivery of it until the beginning of February of 2011 because we redid our kitchen. We have the range in service for almost seven years but then, we noticed that the bottom of the oven have grooves in it and they were all rusted. I called Viking and got Lakeside Service. I had them look at it and they agreed that it was rusting down in the grooves but they didn’t know the reason. They said it couldnt be repaired and felt that it would ultimately rust through. Somebody at Viking told me that probably it was because we dropped something. But we didnt and it would be very hard to drop something into these narrow grooves that were in the bottom. The oven was not mishandled or misused in any way. And for something that we paid almost $6,000, it should not have died or be defective within seven years.I called customer service ‘cause I was supposed to hear from someone within a couple of days but it was already more than that. I was patched through to Michelle and we worked out the details. Viking offered to pay about half on a new freestanding stove to slide in the spot and I paid a little bit more than half the installation fee. This time, we decided to go with an electric cooktop. We got it through Viking and their installer put it in. We noticed that this one sticks up but other than that, it’s good. However, I will never buy another Viking stove if this one does the same thing in the next seven years. At the cost of their product, I would expect it to last longer than that. Also, their 90-day warranty was almost nonexistent particularly on the porcelain paint job on the oven. I am dissatisfied with it and yet I have another one, but that was the only way to get back anything that would fit in the opening. We weren’t sure if the other brands would fit and we knew that the new one we have would. But as far as their people are concerned, it was an okay experience.

I spent over $20,000.00 on a complete Viking appliance replacement for 15-year-old Whirlpool Gold appliances. Most expensive mistake I ever made. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes at all and the inside of the dishwasher is always wet after a cycle. The refrigerator is very noisy and the condenser fan is louder than a jet engine when running on full. Freezer items have frost on them and I can only hope it does not break down in the near future. The convection microwave does not even pop popcorn correctly (or at all) unless bag is placed on a bowl turned upside down? Convection cooktop seems to be working okay as does the oven thus far. I have had several repair calls on the refrigerator with no repairs. One repair person indicated it was supposed to be loud. Do yourself a favor and buy Kenmore Elite or something else besides Viking for 1/3 the cost and 100 times better quality. I want my Whirlpool Gold back (as well as my $20,000.00). Viking needs to wake up before they go out of business. Is there a lemon law for appliances. These are all appliance purchased in late 2013 and I am already looking to replace them all.

We had purchased a Viking range and dishwasher about four years ago. We had a commercial refrigerator but didn’t know that Viking had refrigeration at that time. We got rid of the commercial one and I looked up Viking and found this refrigerator. I love the lighting in the refrigerator. Ive also never had a freezer on the bottom. I don’t get into the freezer nearly as much as the refrigerator so I love that feature because I dont have to bend down to get into a crisper. The space in it is amazing. Ive had the side-by-side where the freezer is on one side and the refrigerator is on the other and theyre just wasted space. This French door is very easy to clean, too. I take a soft-butt towel and use a microfiber towel to dry it and Ive got the surface cleaned in two minutes. We had been with Sears for years for our appliances. Weve been in our house for 24 years so this is our second round of appliances now. We had 10 more brands and I wanted something on a higher end. It took me six months to pick something up because I read reviews and Viking had great ones. We decided to switch to Viking for our kitchen appliances just from appearance and reviews. The downside was there wasn’t a store near us where we could go in and put our hands on the product so we ordered through a store that was an hour drive from us. But, their customer service is great. The first dealer that we contacted was closer to us but they werent as willing to help us over the phone as far as measurements because we were going from an electric to a gas range. We ended up in the Silt. Their staff did all the measurements and how the gas line had to be in. He went above and beyond over the phone and worked with my husband on it. Then, they delivered, set up and tested everything. It was a good experience.

A friend of mine owned a Viking range and I thought that I just had to have it. I like to cook and Viking was a higher end range. And since I was building a house, I had to get it now because I won’t be able to get it later on. I went to Cowboy’s Kitchens in Ridgeland and everybody was very accommodating. When I had a problem with one of the ignitions on one of the burners that wouldn’t light, they sent a repair personnel who replaced a part. They were efficient and Ive been happy with everybody. I love mt range too and I want to get the griddle that goes in the middle. Were barely 60 days in and Im looking forward to experimenting with my range. Im still tinkering with it and have learned that it cooks much faster than other ranges so it is more efficient and saves time.

I’ve been having a lot of trouble recently with our Viking Refrigerator and it’s been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I liked the great arrangement design in the freezer and that it had a three-year warranty. But, the freezer leaks water onto the floor, which then pools under the fridge and then leaks into my basement. I have to get in there every week and break up the ice at the bottom of the freezer so it doesn’t break the seal. I sent an email to Viking several weeks ago and I was in touch with somebody there and we have emails back and forth. I opened up a service ticket about three months ago and I’m only now starting the service process since it wasn’t until this week that I actually got confirmation. They have a local appliance service person coming out and I’ve scheduled an appointment with them.

To say that I have been extremely disappointed with my Viking oven is putting it mildly. This oven has broken three times since 2012. Two of those times was in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. The problem with this oven is a computer chip panel that continually burns out when the oven becomes hot. I have had to replace this part twice. I question why Viking would engineer such a problematic oven and then offer a replacement part that is only under warranty for a year. I have contacted Viking customer service by phone and by letter and their only response is to tell me the part is no longer under warranty. I have replaced the Viking oven and I will never buy another Viking product. I am writing this to alert other consumers to be aware of this issue and the lack of customer service when considering purchasing a Viking range.

Also, I absolutely love the broiler. But any time that people buy something online and it’s being shipped from New York, nobody gives them a date on when their product is going to arrive and there’s a bit of tension that goes on with that. We were replacing our old Thermador and I assumed Viking was a fairly good product. I like the look of them but I’m a little disappointed. It is not very good and I would tell others to rethink their decision to buy one. My oven has been installed for two months and I have had repairmen here for the last two months as well. Hinges on the oven were bent. They finally came and fixed that. But they had to get the feet for the oven because they didn’t have them when they installed the oven. Now, I’m having a problem with my burners. It has taken me two visits and they’re still not fixed. And every time they come out, there is a time period in between of two weeks. Then the repairman was telling me today that it is going to take probably another two weeks. When he came out previously, he seemed to have been of the forethought that what he was being told was not gonna fix it. And yet, he was still told to come out here and do it. So he came out here and did he was told but it still didn’t work. Now, they have to order all new burners. Its just ongoing after two months. It’s been a roundabout, circular motion here with this whole thing. I was very angry to begin with but now, I don’t even know anymore. It’s two months and $10,000, and I haven’t really even used the oven. Viking also needs to be more responsive. Initially, they kept calling to ask if everything was good and I kept saying no. It was great that they called but then it wavered and petered out. Viking has dropped off as far as calling to see if anything has been done and now, it’s me dealing with the repair people.

We built a new home and bought a Viking refrigerator floor model through a dealer. I had a built-in before, and I was happy with it, so I went with that particular refrigerator. I like the built-in because it’s not deep and things don’t get lost in the back of the refrigerator. I love my Viking refrigerator, but I’ve had eight or nine service calls on it and the people who came and serviced it have been excellent. When the refrigerator arrived, there was an issue with water coming out of the bottom of the door, and they replaced that, and then it wouldn’t make ice or water, so they changed out a harness, the water pump and the icemaker. It makes ice, but after they put in the new icemaker, the lever stops when the ice fills up, so a part was ordered and the people are coming this week to replace that. The dealer has been absolutely awesome on service and responsiveness and their staff has come out and dealt with every single problem I’ve had. However, I bought an eight-burner gas range through Pacific Kitchen & Home and I would not purchase through them again. When the range was delivered, the door needed adjustment and it’s been a nightmare to get somebody to come out through Pacific Kitchen to service it. I had to reach out to Viking directly to get any kind of service and they’re coming out this week as well. Hopefully, once everything is all in good working order, it’ll be well worth it. I have been very happy with Viking. The downside of the Professional range that I have, is that there’s not a small burner and they’re all the same size. But other than that, I have not have any problems with them until just recently, when one of my ovens ran out. I looked online for a repairman and I was not happy with the first repairman that I saw. He came into my home, looked at my range and he called me back about a week later, and said that it was going to cost $1,700 for a new control panel, and two workers to repair it. That’s not right.I did some research. I found another repairman that was Viking approved and it costed me just under 600 to repair my oven. There was a recall on it as well, so they did that. They took care of that in addition to fixing my oven. Probably, the biggest downside is that it’s hard to find good and honest repairmen for Viking products. But I have no complaints from my products. It’s a quality product. I’ve got an electric wall oven that I use constantly and gracefully. Thank God that it’s performing well. And I’ve used my products all the time. They all look pretty in my home.

The person from the store has been helping me with the appliances and choosing the right ones, and thought highly about the Viking Refrigerator. It’s very well lit with the LED lighting and it’s nice being able to open it and see everything. I like the number of shelves and the fact that I can reconfigure them. I have one that folds in half, so thats also neat because I may not need a full shelf. I could fold one of the shelves in half to fit a gallon of milk or orange juice, but if I dont have that, maybe I want to have the shelves instead. Also, the control panel lights up and temperature cool zone can be adjusted to cool whatever food you’re storing and it will keep it at that temperature plus the dial setting can be easily accessed because it’s in the inside of the door. Thats very helpful because with other refrigerators, they have it in places where someone cant even reach. The only issue that I had was that I had to have the refrigerator replaced 3 times because of the doors being not aligned and even. They tried to align the doors but the top part was wider open than the bottom. The store said that they couldnt do anything with it because the wheels in the back were not adjustable and they could not also adjust the doors. They could only do operating on adjustments. I called Viking service and they sent a repairman who said that it was actually defective and I need it to have it replaced. The reason it happened twice is because the store said, Well order a replacement, but when it came, one of the doors was dented. Theyve had the same issue, and they were not going to leave it with me. Theyre going to take it back. The store said, If youre not happy with the Viking maybe you could choose a different model or a different refrigerator. But even though the Viking refrigerator has those issues, I liked it and was already in love with it. I couldnt find that different selection. So then they delivered a new one and it was better than the other one. It wasnt wobbly but it still had an issue with the doors. However, when the repairman came and told me that it was defective, he said the doors could be fixed but not the wobbly part. They called the service again and I said, I got the replacement refrigerator. Can you come fix the door? They did, so now its good.At least, they let me keep the refrigerator until I got the replacement so I was not without a refrigerator. But because it was a special order it would take long time, like in a month. I wasnt happy because of everything else, but regarding the unit itself and how it operates, I would definitely recommend it. For the price, its great because it competes with the professional refrigerators.

We moved into a brand new home about four weeks ago and I think I was most excited about the Viking range. Wed worked really hard for this house and Id always viewed Viking as top drawer. What a disappointment its been. Since the day we moved in, it hasnt worked and multiple visits by Viking repair people still havent helped. Were about a hot minute from replacing it. The salesperson at our Best Buy who weve come to trust tells us that Thermador is a much better buy. So the morale to the story is buyer beware: go with quality even when it might not have the name quotient.

We bought the Viking stove through Setzers and as a part of getting that, we also got a dishwasher. It was a deal they had going on. But the dishwasher has a gasket down the side which slid down and got bent. So we contacted Setzers and told them, and they contacted Viking. It was really strange though. They sent us a note saying that someone was gonna come out and I thought it was crazy. They were coming out to put a gasket on, which was something that I feel like we could do. But okay. They could do whatever they wanted to do. But when the guy came from Viking, his work order said that we had a gas leak and that was why they came. It was really strange. I told him we didnt have a gas leak and that we just needed the plastic gasket piece. He said he he was gonna order it but it’s been three weeks and we still haven’t gotten it. So I probably need to check on it. That aside, he was super nice and really helpful. He even showed us a few things about the stove that we didn’t realize it could do. And even with that, I would absolutely recommend Viking. It has always been my husband’s dream stove. He’s a builder and when he would build upscale houses, they always seemed to have Viking appliances. So when we were building our house, that was his thing. If it was possible, he really wanted the huge six-burner Viking stove. Viking is definitely a pricier stove but it’s worth the money. The quality is good, and the unit is beautiful and substantial. We love it, particularly the six burners on the cooktop. You can have plenty of things going at one time, and that makes it easy.

When I moved into my house, it had a Viking six-burner cooktop which I thought was very well-done. It was enamel, not stainless steel, but was much sturdier than what I have now. I was impressed with it but its been there a while so I wanted to replace that. We redid our kitchen about five years ago and thought I would use Viking products. Thats how I started looking at the other matching pieces. I do a lot of cooking but the quality of what I purchased is not the same with what I had before. In hindsight, I wish I had just kept the Viking cooktop and had gotten double-oven in its place from somebody else. The stainless steel on the cooktop scratches. Ive already had to replace the grates once. Then the temperature on the double oven wasnt getting correct because the hinges were not strong enough. They had to be replaced to the tune of $400. Even after that was done, I still had to have a repairman come again to calibrate it correctly.Aside from the cooktop, we bought a Viking refrigerator whihc we picked in particular because we have space constraints and it worked well. The only thing I like in the new configuration of the model I have is that theres extra shelf at the top. Its very small but Im a baker so I put my pieces right in there to cool in the freezer. But the quality is horrible. Ive had several other refrigerators with which Ive been far more impressed with. The plastic inside is poorly designed in that the butter dish slides open when the door opens. Now, theyve changed it and within days it dented my initial fridge. I also had to replace an internal part as one of the drawers cracked. My first fridge had an ice maker problem and then the compressor went.I went through many months of badgering Viking to replace this thing. The Viking team members have been respectful but not timely. If I hadnt been a diligent pain in the neck, nothing wouldve happened. I had to keep contacting them before they had somebody come. When they contacted a person and I never heard anything, I contacted Viking again and finally got an email that she had left the company. But there was no follow-up.I finally got a new fridge and the people that Viking contracted with to come out were very helpful. When they came out, I spoke to Sally from Viking and wanted to verify that the trim kit will fit in the unit because I spent nearly $1,000 for the kit to make this thing look built-in. Sure enough, the contractors who came forgot the kit. So they came back again with it and only was able to put it in on one side. I then had to call a carpenter and pay out-of-pocket to have it replaced. I then called Viking again who ultimately recouped that fee for me and made me whole. But then again, the ice maker doesnt work in this new refrigerator. The repairman that Viking contracted with from Dillon Appliance came out this week and said that it doesnt function. So Im very disappointed. For the amount of money and time Ive spent on this, its crazy. I shouldnt have to have a part-time job tracking down Viking. They should do what theyre supposed to do. First of all, they should produce a good product. And second of all, Ive dealt with all these different people to have these things repaired and still have a refrigerator that doesnt have a working ice maker and this is my second fridge. And I was out of a fridge for five weeks. It was a long time and I have four kids. I have a backup fridge in the garage but its small. Nobody at Viking really seemed to be worried about this or really apologetic that their products shouldnt break and theyre very sorry that my compressor completely went under five years.I would never buy another Viking product. Its not worth the money, especially the refrigeration. Its like any other refrigerator and they slapped the Viking logo on it. Thats actually what the guy at Dillons told me. Theres nothing exceptional about it. Then Ive been somewhat pleased with the double oven except I had another double oven for years and never had to replace the hinges. Four and a half years in, Im already replacing hinges which is not exactly what I wanted to do. But I needed to retain the heat. Its a very disappointing experience. The product is by no means worth the amount of money I spent on it. The value isnt there.

I purchased Viking appliances in November 2009 - dishwasher, refrigerator, stove. My dishwasher has not been working since the beginning of July 2013 despite 4 visits by a tech and numerous phone calls to the extended warranty company and Viking. It was also repaired in 2010 and 2011. My refrigerator is also on its third repair and is failing to keep a consistent temperature... It is either freezing food or else keeping food in the 40-42 degree range. These are marketed as Professional appliances and certainly do not live up to this reputation. I discourage all consumers from purchasing Viking appliances... They come with a hefty price tag and leave the consumer frustrated, disillusioned and dissatisfied.

I have bought Viking appliances for my past two kitchen renovations and I have to say I am disappointed in the quality of my latest Viking range; especially when I compare it to same Viking range we had before. The latest range makes a loud bang sound whenever we turn the oven on and it is heating up. It sounds almost like a small explosion and when it first happened, my wife and I thought something seriously happened with the oven and that it was faulty. We had a Viking technician come out to look at it and he informed us that it is becoming increasingly common with Viking ranges and that there is nothing much we can do about it.I have to say that paying a huge premium on an appliance and being told that there is little we can do about it is not a very satisfying answer. It is also embarrassing whenever we have company over and they hear the bang go off with our oven and are surprised to learn that is something we put up with every day especially after spending so much money on a high-end item. I am not exactly sure what can ever be done about this but I must say that if or when we renovate our next kitchen, I cannot say that Viking will be high on my list as appliances to purchase.

I had Sub-Zero for years, and it was leaking and leaking. We had it fixed a million times before we changed. We also needed a built-in and we wanted a bottom freezer so we went with the Viking. I like the lighting. Also, the ice maker works well and the ice is clear. However, Im not happy with the door. It closes but when you open it, it slams open. Its not balanced. Viking installed it improperly so we had to change the doors. When the doors came, they were all scratched. We had to get a brand-new Viking fridge and there were all these scratches on the doors, which was unacceptable. But they brought new doors and they just didnt balance them.I filled out a form, I registered online, and Viking Refrigerators called me a local company and weve been playing phone tag. I want them to send somebody to fix the door but it hasnt happened. Ive been waiting for a month for that. Also, the drawers are poorly designed. Theyre flimsy and not elegant. The local, West Coast Regional Office is a joke. They dont even answer the phone. When they do answer I get the run-around until I insist they send someone to fix it, which then takes two or three days. And then, three weeks later the same thing happens. When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I haven’t used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I can’t use the fridge because I’m trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I don’t understand why it can’t be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this won’t happen to someone else again. I don’t know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. It’s not normal so it was a little frustrating.

An open letter to Viking Range regarding the Viking built in refrigerator. I recommend everyone that is fed up with Vikings horrible quality and lack of customer service email the CEO, COO and head of sales. I am writing to you in order to share my deep disappointment with my Viking 36 built in refrigerator. I purchased my refrigerator way back in 2005, when we were remodeling our kitchen. We looked at both Sub-Zero and Viking, and in the end, chose your product because we perceived it to be of higher quality, and were impressed with the fact that it was built right here in the U.S.Over the course of the years, the defrost function stopped working, the ice maker water valve failed, and the door hinge has been serviced 5 times! We received a call informing us that the hinge would need to be replaced once again, but we had the option to spend $4,000 to receive a replacement unit. As a customer who spent nearly $8,000 on a unit that we expected to outlast the remodel, we are shocked to be faced with the choice of either experimenting with yet another hinge, or spending $4,000. We have a 7 year old daughter, and in my mind, having this unit in our home any longer is out of the question, knowing that the hinge issue is still unresolved. We have lost faith in the safety of this refrigerator. I have attempted to work with your customer service team on a resolution, but the only response we receive is that, as long as the unit isnt irreparable they wont replace it. In my mind, this unit is beyond repair, given the countless issues described above, and the safety issues with a minor child in the home.I think it is important as the CEO of Viking that you hear the direct voice of the customer. It is very unsettling that Viking has put us in this position, and has far from lived up to its promise of superior quality.

I have owned the Viking Professional gas range for about 16 years. When it was first delivered the oven door was adjusted wrong, the glass had slid leaving an 1/8 opening and closed improperly. Viking factory representative told me that the door adjustment wasnt covered under warranty. After paying $5,000 and no warranty for shoddy work. I called Viking representatives in almost every state. Finally found a dealer that gave me information how to correct the problem myself. I had a local serviceman out several times that charged for service and said, Dont expect warranty service. That is exactly why he stopped carrying Viking gas ranges. The range has never cooked or baked correctly from the day it was installed. Viking only gets a 1 star because it is the lowest I can give them. I would never buy another Viking product.

We wanted the kitchen to be more of a showplace than just an average functional kitchen. We ordered all of the appliances at the same time in January 2021, but they werent delivered until end of May. So, there was a long delay in the arrival of the appliances. We had them all there at the same time before they would start the remodel of the kitchen. Everything was on backorder at that time. There was a lack of inventory everywhere. We knew that going in, and most every appliance brand we looked at had some sort of delay on it. And we wanted all the appliances to match so we ordered accordingly and waited, which put us farther down the list on the contractors list, which was a long delay. The range works great. My wife loves it. The only real incident we had that we didnt know we would have was when we got everything installed, the icemaker didnt work. And that didnt get fixed until January of 2022. Once we got it in, we had to go through the customer service thing because it wasnt making ice. Viking sent somebody out. He checked it out and had to order a new icemaker. Poorly constructed. Gas ignition/temperature control does not work and has never worked. I purchased my range in 1997. Since then I have replaced the bi-metal gas valve 5 times and the two bake igniters 4 times and broiler igniter once. At present the right burner does not go on unless the gas valve is tapped manually with hammer or butt end of screw driver - so looks like the igniter or gas valve or both are no good again. Also, the oven door never closed evenly, leaking heat. It leaks enough heat to have burnt the exterior finish off the door. One of the oven door hinges has been broken for ever. The oven temperature is always inconsistent. The control knobs, since new have been loose with a lot of play in them. The oven floor is deformed/cracked from the heat of the burners. The wall panels are loose and sloppy and impact the sliding in and out of the racks. Viking does not offer, never has offered support, but rather will refer you to a service tech that does not understand how to get the gas range to operate properly. Dont buy it.

I knew about Viking Ranges from back in the days that it’s a high-end commercial range. They’re one of the first ranges from back in the day that have been still around, and I recently also heard that they have improved their latest model. So, I decided to go and get one, and I love it. I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. Ive used my range and have gone back to the department store. I looked at the lower-end models and the integrity of the material isn’t there, like the grill grates and the griddle. Everything is just built a lot better on the Viking gas range.

I like the reputation of the Viking refrigerator, and I like that they didnt have an ice dispenser on the door. So far, Ive had some issues, but they quickly repaired it. The fridge has been great except for this freezer function thing. It was kind of upsetting considering how much money the refrigerator cost. You think theyd work that out before it got to me. I would recommend it, but Id tell others about the icemaker issue. Other than that, the Viking looks amazing and the overall quality is great. I like the metal functions. The inside of the doors are not plastic so they’re cleaner. What I like the most is that somehow my food lasts longer. All the organic stuff that I normally buy spoils really quickly in my old refrigerator. On this one, they seem to last much longer.

Viking 48 Built in Refrigerator recall and problems - Ive had this refrigerator for 10 years and had custom panels to match our new kitchen cabinets made and install without problem when we bought it from the Great Indoors (now out of business). Shortly after, Viking had to replace a faulty compressor. Then a few years ago we had a recall for door hinges needing replacement, which they did.Last year it stopped cooling properly and I paid $350 to fix leaky refrigerant problem. Now, door recall number two happens (class action lawsuit). We were given the option to fix or replace the unit with a new one for a reduced cost of new. We chose a new one but wanted one that would work with our custom door panels as the first one was. I was told by a Viking recall rep that some modification of the panels might have to be done by an installer at our cost and I was fine with that. I ordered the refrigerator through the Viking distributor, Lakeview in Elk Grove, IL and was told 4-6 weeks. It took two months. The original service manager left company during this time. The refrigerator was installed and the installers said the original panels cannot be made to fit as we were told. An estimate of $2,000 for new panels, plus there were no handles so add that to additional cost I wasnt expecting. 4 calls to Viking customer support over 3 weeks and no help, just excuses and theyd have to listen to call records to see whose fault it was why this wont work. Lakeview was also contacted and I had to keep emailing/calling them to get help and they said it was in Viking’s hands but nobody took the effort to call me and keep me informed. I called Discover and filed a dispute to halt payment. That working for 3 weeks until Lakeview responded to Discover and said there was no way the panels would work because the owner customized the doors for the panels and that was not true. Both Viking and Lakeview knew my original model and serial number and should have been aware that the old and new units were not the same. Viking customer support called yesterday and left a message saying its not their problem that I ordered the wrong refrigerator. Now, I have a refrigerator without panels, no handles and to add to the ** is this $10,000 refrigerator has been freezing all my vegetables in the bottom keep fresh drawer! Bottom line, stay away from Viking!

We saw Viking in homes that we were looking to buy. And we felt that the home we bought was in the same price range as those homes so we also got a Viking range. Were very happy with it. I like the size of the oven and its bigger than the previous one that we had. The range is doing great and I would definitely recommend Viking.

Were happy with the Viking range. I like the gas burners and the functionality of the oven itself. Their customer service overall was good when I called them to resolve a problem. They were responsive and positive.

We shopped around at several different appliance, some of the appliance showrooms, and I was going back and forth between Sub-Zero, Wolf and Viking. There were pros and cons for all of them but I really liked the Series 5 oven. They have a double oven that’s got a French door on top and that combined with the cooktop that I felt like it was a rugged enough look. I decided to go for a Viking kitchen package because of the oven than it was because of the fridge in particular. But if I put raw strawberries in their fridge the strawberries stay fresher much longer than they did in previous normal refrigerators I had. Before when I put the strawberries in my refrigerator two days later they’d be all shriveling. But with Viking I can put them in there, and a week later, they still look edible. There’s something about the airflow. One of their appliance guy explained to us something about that and it definitely works. But I have to buy an ice scoop because Viking doesn’t make ice dispensers in their fridges, which is fine, because I like the smooth look on the front. But I think that they should probably throw in like a food grade ice scoop because yon’t wanna touch ice cube with your hands. That’s just kinda gross.

I had an existing Viking refrigerator in our home and it went out. I replaced it with a Viking too but it’s not as near the quality of my original one. The exterior is not even metal. It cant even hold a magnet so its a stainless steel look but its not. The original was sturdier and the inside shelves were more metal. This one seems to be plastic. The freezer part is a lot of plastic. It doesnt have the durability of my old one. Its a cheaper made Viking although I like the sleek look of it.

Our Viking Range is beautiful. We looked at the features and, its just so solid. The burners are huge which was something we definitely wanted, and its perfect for our kitchen as it fits in with everything else. Their reps were very helpful and knew the product well. We had it installed, and then, all of a sudden, there was a gas leak. But it wasn’t the stove. It was the plumber. Apparently, the back-left of the stove, the part that comes from the gas line that goes into the back, hadn’t been tightened and he put pipe dope on a compression fitting, which was stupid. Some of that got into the two back burners and they weren’t working, and we smelled gas every morning. So, we had their authorized tech come out and he was fabulous. He found it, cleaned out the ports, and all the burners worked beautifully. So far, it’s the best oven-stove combo we’ve ever had and we love it.

I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August
I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August 2014 as display model. I was told by the salesman that it had a full warranty. We also discussed with a Viking rep who was there setting up other models and he indicated the benefits of the range. In January the left burners quit working and there was a flash code for the burners. I called Viking to inquire about the warranty and found the unit was registered to another person who bought it 1 year earlier. I did not know it was pre-owned and would not have purchased it if it was. From the Viking customer service rep I learned it had a history of two repair calls including a replaced control board ($800.00 part cost). The code on the induction top indicated that it may be a generator board (there is one for each side) with a part cost of about $1200.00. They also indicated it was out of warranty. I have talked to the store, Viking techs, independent service tech and there has been no resolution to my issue. The code has changed since the initial event. Since there seems to be a need for a second module, is this a problem with this model or is this one a lemon. Viking did have a 5 year limited warranty on the induction top and modules in the past this but no longer true. I would like a resolution to this issue.

My husband did all the research then we went to an excellent Viking dealer in Connecticut. They delivered when they were supposed to, the products were fine, and the prices were right. We bought an entire kitchen, including a Viking stove and a microwave. The quality of the range is excellent and I love the five burners and the convection. Were very happy with Viking.

Viking was the affordable choice and a better choice than some Maytag. Its got a quality name to it. Its the rep. However, there was a problem with the shipping of our Viking Refrigerator, and we had to get another one. The first one got replaced. Even the second one, the freezer door is a little loose. I didnt wanna deal constantly having to send it back. The handle was loose, so I tried adjusting the handle. It doesnt adjust anymore. But, its good. It works. We got it from Best Buy. They were nice enough to accommodate switching out the first one. They wouldve switched out the second one cause I wasnt happy with the freezer door being crooked and the handle being loose. The handle is still loose. We were able to fix the crookedness a little bit, but at that point, we needed a fridge. Our old fridge had crapped out, so I didnt have time. They werent gonna bring it till the next day. So, thats my only gripe. The product is not 100%. I wouldnt recommend this Viking Refrigerator ‘cause its a hassle.
