Im an interior designer, so Ive used Viking ranges a few times in houses that Ive designed the kitchens and built. I bought my range at Ferguson and got a good deal on it. I love my range. It is of good quality, has high heat output and all the grates are very heavy. Its a little difficult to clean though. Also, it is more of a commercial level, and its a little difficult to learn how to cook on it.The ovens are very hard to get a hang of because theres a drop-down broiler heating element in the top of both of the oven units. If you dont position your racks right, you will burn everything. If you get them too low, then you burn it from the bottom, because youre too close to the bottom element. I used the manual to figure out the configuration of the oven racks. Once they stopped burning things and figured out the positioning of the racks to cook what I do on a daily basis, it was a little better. Right now, I have some little issues with it and I have a service coming out tomorrow. Its not preheating right, and the fans for the convection of the large oven sounds like a motorcycle when it comes on.

My range is perfect. There are no scratches or dings when it was delivered. The fridge arrived and was completely beautiful on the exterior, but on the interior, all the shelves were smashed and ripped out so I had it replaced. Now, Im waiting a door on the new one and a door for the dishwasher because they were both damaged in transit. Its unfortunate. But as far as how they worked, theyre wonderful.

We bought a high-end condo in Hoboken, New Jersey in 2014 June, it contains the Viking range as well as Viking refrigerator and these are top of the line. The refrigeration quality is fine and the steel finish is my favorite feature. The Viking is an awesome contemporary piece of appliance with very cool looks and good design. Im satisfied with it.

I have owned a Viking refrigerator for a year now and it has been one of the worst appliances Ive ever owned, aside from its matching range and oven. Both appliances were broken and needed repairs within 4 months of ownership. Neither are considerably reliable. I will not be purchasing Viking appliances again in the future.

Bought both (Viking 30 All Fridge, and Viking 30 All Freezer) as showroom models at a discount manufactured 2009 and 2006. Thought they would be under warranty. Problems began - freezer does not freeze my ice cream. They replaced the coils, the fan, the thermistor, the thermistor connector wire. And STILL it does not freeze my ice cream. I have to manually defrost the freezer, then it works ok for a week then back again. Fridge is another story. Started off randomly beeping once a month or so. So I turned off the fridge and turned it back on, and it seemed fine. That was 3 months ago. Now it does not stop beeping, and the fan does not come on. We replaced the thermistor, the powerboard and still it’s beeping. Viking has now told me it is no longer under warranty and so Im on my own. They cant understand why it beeps. Ive had 4 different technicians come out and they are at a loss. Viking does not want to speak to me, since I am not a technician, and have no warranty. Problem is, it’s not easy to replace a 60 space in the middle of the cabinets and I cant think of replacing the whole kitchen which is only 2 years old.

Im not satisfied with Viking and I dont recommend them. I bought a whole bunch of their appliances but most of them had an issue. The refrigerator has missing parts and the icemaker doesn’t work. I called customer service, then someone came to my house and ordered the parts. But after that, nobody contacted me. The telephone call is friendly, and so were the people that came to my house. Theyre just too slow.

Viking had good reviews and I liked the product name. The quality of my refrigeration unit is excellent. It keeps everything fresh. I’m very satisfied with my experience with Viking, but it is too expensive. Also, BestBuy, the actual dealer, is good, but I scheduled for delivery, and they delivered on the wrong date. And then, I called them back to pick it up, and they didn’t want to. It was crazy. I told them I didn’t want it that day, but they said they wanna deliver that day because they didnt wanna come back so I told them that my house wasnt ready yet. They said they were coming back. Other than that, Viking is a good company. A valve in the refrigerator blew, and they fixed it.

The Viking range is nice-looking and Im very pleased with it. Right now, Im still trying to get used to it. Its a little bit different than the previous one I had. Also, I had to make a few adjustments because the back was a little above an inch higher than the one I had. The only thing I dont like is the color of the tops of the burners because if anything drops on them, they spot and it looks speckled. It doesnt look clean. If those could have been black, that would have been great. I dont know if I could buy replacements for them and if theyre in black. Ive paid a bunch of money for this and Im not so sure that I want to put a whole lot more into it. Other than that, its a beautiful piece of appliance and I would recommend it. Its the focal point of the kitchen and I did not swap out the vent that I had because the range matched it perfectly. Also, the company I bought it from is fabulous. They were there with me the whole time for delivery and installation. All the guys were wonderful when they came in and they were so careful in bringing it in. Then, I had a follow-up from Viking. After the range came in and it was installed, they called to ask me if everything was okay, if I was able to get it, if it was working, and if I was pleased with it. I have been totally pleased with the company.

The salesman we spoke with at University Electric in Sta. Clara was really nice. He was showing us all the features of the ranges they had. So far, the Viking Range we got has been of pretty good quality. I like that one of the burners has higher heat of 10,000 BTU. So when I stir fry noodle, it makes it taste a bit more like restaurant noodles cooked on a high-heat stove.

This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in
This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in spite of the many that precede mine, I feel compelled to chime in and advise other consumers to avoid Viking refrigerators (and dishwashers too, for that matter) like the plague!! We spent 2 1/2 yrs. on a complete state-of-the-art rebuild of our official historic landmark Victorian, to which we returned in July, 2007. As a Realtor who specializes in the sale of luxury properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had been recommending top-of-line Viking products to clients who needed to refurbish and stage their homes for resale. Today, I feel badly for ever having done that!We have a built-in custom paneled upper/lower Viking fridge that acted up immediately. Within a matter of months, the fresh produce in the lowest pullout semi-froze and had to be discarded. I believe (but am not certain) that special heater was installed under warranty to prevent this from happening again. Before the year was out, another problem (forget the details) and was fixed. Then, right after the warranty expired, the contents of the freezer melted and we paid for the installation of another heater... At some point thereafter, water from the fridge started pouring out onto the hardwood kitchen floor. Thank God we were in town when this happened and able to towel up the leakage for a few days until another heater could be installed. The entire bottom of the unit was frozen solid, and the floor boards immediately against the unit had warped.. Under duress, Viking paid for this repair. Finally, within the past year, the cooling of the refrigerator compartment ceased and we were without refrigeration for 4 or 5 days before -- you guessed it -- yet another heater could be installed (the cooling ducts had frozen). Additionally, we got a recall notice for the defective front door. The dealer who enthusiastically sold the Viking appliances to us stated in response to my expression of distress & disgust: Demand a replacement from Viking. Theyve had nothing but problems with those refrigerators (and dishwashers) -- they suck! I requested a replacement, without success... As for the dishwasher, while all the interior components had to be replaced and I must basically hand wash everything and use the unit for sterilization purposes only, at least its performed better than the refrigerator. Enough said!

I have bought Viking appliances for my past two kitchen renovations and I have to say I am disappointed in the quality of my latest Viking range; especially when I compare it to same Viking range we had before. The latest range makes a loud bang sound whenever we turn the oven on and it is heating up. It sounds almost like a small explosion and when it first happened, my wife and I thought something seriously happened with the oven and that it was faulty. We had a Viking technician come out to look at it and he informed us that it is becoming increasingly common with Viking ranges and that there is nothing much we can do about it.I have to say that paying a huge premium on an appliance and being told that there is little we can do about it is not a very satisfying answer. It is also embarrassing whenever we have company over and they hear the bang go off with our oven and are surprised to learn that is something we put up with every day especially after spending so much money on a high-end item. I am not exactly sure what can ever be done about this but I must say that if or when we renovate our next kitchen, I cannot say that Viking will be high on my list as appliances to purchase.

We bought a brand new house and all the appliances were Viking. The original refrigerator that was discontinued was really substandard in the sense that the design was flawed. The freezer is at the bottom half so anything that tumbled from the refrigerator fell on the freezer and the freezer frame was dented. It kept getting dented. I wasnt very happy with the quality so I had to replace that with the model that came about after it was discontinued. I was trying to replace the bottom freezer and I called their parts department and one was better, but the other was charging me $2,000 just for the bottom freezer while a new model costs $3,500. Theres just no recourse as far as their customer service. In addition, somebody recognized that the design was flawed, so they changed it. The freezer frame was no longer stainless steel. It was very very hard plastic and it didnt jut out anymore. So, its horrible that such a design was at all created. There was no quality control. We then got a new refrigerator from Best Buy and they were pretty good except for the delivery that had so much bumbling all over the place. The first people who delivered it didnt know how to handle refrigerators because the foot was dented. Im very dissatisfied with all the Viking appliances we had and Im never going to recommend Viking ever.

My battle with my Viking product began 8 yrs ago. We bought a new with new appliances. All Viking. Living 8 yrs with this refrigerator has been like living in the 1800s. We have had our ice maker break 3 times. Hinges break. But the biggest problem is the food staying fresh. Mainly because the only choice in cooling for this refrigerator is Lukewarm and rotten food or your eggs yogurt and all food frozen. I am writing this once again because I own a very expensive refrigerator and without and help this company has not recalled this lemon of a product. The frustration level is so bad I had to take to Facebook last time I sought out help for this problem. I then made friends with people in Vancouver Colorado and Brazil all whom had the same problems and the company took back their refrigerator. They sent me repair man and blocked me from their social media. But I still continue to have Massive problems with this refrigerator.Ice maker once again broken. Broken shelving and cooling problems begin to plague me once again. Imagine your danger comes home from college has surgery before the holidays and you take out the large tub of yogurt frozen solid. You like to drink cranberry juice frozen solid. Take something off a different shelf moldy. It is almost impossible to deal so I go buy a garage refrigerator to try to survive the holidays. I will never purchase a Viking product again and when Im in store I do walk up to complete strangers and tell them to run from this product. It saddens me because I would love to support a company made in the USA. I just would like a company to stand by this and make good.

The servicemen I called would not touch it, due to Viking not sending parts in a timely manner or not having parts. Viking is a good brand. Its made in the USA and we like the look and size of their refrigerators. Ours is working great so far. The temperature control is nice and the doors open and close easily. Its like a French door refrigerator, but they dont hit each other. My sister has a Sub-Zero but its doors would hit each other if they didnt close them the right way. As with ours, the doors seem to be pretty seamless, which is good. However, the freezer in our fridge is like a pull out drawer and if I pull the freezer from one side, it gets off the track a little bit. Sometimes I have to straighten it out and push it back in, which is a little weird. Also, it would be cool if there was a water dispenser inside the fridge, though Im sure Viking has that on some of their high-end refrigerators. As for the Viking dealer, their team was on-time and they answered all my questions. They were absolutely friendly and respectful as well. It was an easy experience overall.

I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. We went to a local appliance store and looked at a number of different brands and models. I did some research online. Ultimately, after the salesperson had described the aspects of each, we settled on the Viking. Viking has that kind of a household cache to it. It seemed to have a good track record. My wife is an interior designer so she has helped clients choose their appliances, and the feedback she has gotten has been positive too. We like the looks of the range and the burner configuration was to our liking. However, I wish it had a timer or a clock on it. We had to buy an auxiliary timer. Our previous stove had one and it was quite convenient. We had gotten used to that over the years so that was a bit inconvenient. Also, the dials are black on black, which makes it a bit tough to read. You have to get down low. If there was some contrast to the dials to make it easier to read, that would be an improvement. And the blower that cools the unit down is a bit annoying. It comes on a lot and lasts for quite a while. We had to make a service call because the igniter was not catching and it was spewing gas into the kitchen. We had to call the Fire Department the first time it happened. It happened over the Christmas vacation so repairmen weren’t open, and the one appliance repairman who services our entire county was backed up for three weeks. We had to live with that problem for three weeks and that was very frustrating. We did finally get the technician in, and he took the range all apart, moved the igniter closer to the gas outlet, and we haven’t had a problem with it since.

We chose Viking over Sub-Zero and Thermador because of the look. We bought a pretty cool one. It’s a cobalt blue color and the fridge is fine overall. But the ice maker didn’t work originally. It took somebody to finally come out and fix it. There was an issue with the light in the freezer too. It went off for no reason and then it came back on for no reason. But the dishwasher was really upsetting. It came with the fridge as a free giveaway but it didn’t work. I called Viking and complained about it. But two of the people that they had wouldn’t come out for over three weeks. After calling again, we were able to get somebody to come out relatively soon, within a week. They looked at all the units that needed fixing but they wouldn’t replace the dishwasher. They really didn’t stand by it. They said everything was working according to how it was supposed to be. But when we opened up the dishwasher, the dishes were soaking wet and cold. It never ran the detergent either. When you open up the dishwasher after full cycle, the detergent would still be physically in the door. If thats how it was meant to be, then that’s stupid. Why did they even make it? At the end of the day, we had to buy another brand even though it came for free. To get a decent dishwasher was another 900 bucks plus I had to go through the whole rigmarole of getting one.We bought a stovetop from them too but I had to buy a separate propane conversion kit. For the price that you pay, the little orifices that you attach to change the way the fuel comes in should just come with the unit. You shouldn’t have to go and buy a separate kit. It wasn’t terribly expensive but it was silly for them not to give that with the brand-new unit. It was a little confusing too. I got a plumber to come out but they couldn’t get it to work. I had to get a Viking technician to come out.

I bought a house and a Viking range was already selected by the builder. So far, I already had to call out the technicians because some of the rings did not ignite properly with the spark. It seems the igniter is extremely fussy about the distance of the conductor the spark starts from to either the inner circle where the gas comes out of or the outer circle, which is to stop the food dropping down into your stove. They are two pieces of metal and if its too close to either one of them, then the spark does not travel enough distance in the air to actually ignite the gas. Basically, you cant switch on the gas using that igniter. Its a bit of a pain in the neck. When it stops igniting, you have to go and try and work out if it is too close to the inside or to the outside. You try and bend the thing. It would be really good if they had a bit of a more reliable electronic ignition for the rangetop.I also got the microwave, the refrigerator, and the dishwasher. The refrigerator came with a dent in the door while the dishwasher has some sort of plastic piece that is hanging down from the door. The door that you open to the dishwasher is hanging there. I dont know whether it wasnt installed properly. Ive looked in the installation manual and it doesnt tell you what to do about what that is or where it should connect. The other thing about the dishwasher is its a little on the noisy side. We had a Bosch 800 series before that and that was near silent. We had Miele before that and that sorta cleaned better than the Viking one does. The microwave has a bit of a strange design. Its one of those drawer microwaves so you’re below the waist level. Its not very easy to see what buttons to press. The most common thing you want to be able to do is to be able to open the microwave drawer but its really hard. With every single button, theres no way to feel without getting down, bending, and looking for where the open button is. Its not in an obvious place. Its doesnt stick out at all and you cant do it by touch.Bizarrely, there is a separate open button and a close button. Why on earth do you need that? They could have just had a double-sized button that combined both. You might actually have a chance of pressing it without going searching for it. There is a bit of a usability problem. In order to open or close the microwave, you have to locate these tiny buttons that are the same size as all of the other buttons. And theyre right in the middle of the touchpad so its not something you can find without looking.

I purchased my free standing 30 Viking range early 2017. We purchased the range from Abt Electronics. The range was delivered with a broken knob. We replaced the range. The new range that they sent, has a loose screw in the fan, that would make loud noise when the fan was turned on. We contacted authorized service station Jags Electronics. They came and fixed the screw. The fan continued to make noise. They now say that the convection fan needs to be replaced. It is an expensive range, and we were expecting better quality of the range. Very disappointed with the purchase. I am not sure if the issue is with Abt Electronics - they sell defective pieces, Viking quality, Jags Electronics - that they are not able to fix the problem at one time. Very frustrated. Would not recommend the range.Updated on 12/02/2017: I had submitted a complaint about my range on Nov 11th. It has been making loud noise when Oven/Convection is turned on. The range was bought from ABT. They sent a defective piece. It has been serviced thrice by Jags Appliance Repair, and he has been unable to fix this. WE WANT THE RANGE REPLACED OR WE WILL TAKE IT TO CONSUMERAFFAIRS. We were told on Nov 16th that someone will respond and look into our complaint. It has been more than two weeks and no one has responded. I doubt if they even monitor the complaints.

We were in the market for new appliances. We were at a store, and we liked the look of the Viking range and everything about it. So, we went that route. The quality of the range is great. Everything is what we expected. However, it took a long time to receive our product. I’m not sure if it was because of Canadian standards because we are in Canada, but the process of receiving it was quite long and dragged out. I’m not sure if that was the retailer or Viking, too. Also, I am not sure if there is a light for pre-heat because I dont see that on there, so I just guess as to when the ovens ready. But, other than that, everything has been fine.

I heard good things about Viking Ranges. Their price was reasonable, too, so I bought one. I live in San Luis Obispo County and I couldn’t get it delivered to my home. So I had to pick it up myself. I have it for less than a month now and so far, the quality is good. I had another stove that had every bells and whistles on it and everything was breaking on that. I like the fact that my Viking doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. I spent that kind of money on a stove and I didn’t want things to be breaking all the time.

When we had a problem, it was taken cared of and weve always been satisfied. We had a little bad luck with the refrigerator because at first it had a dent in the door so it was returned. The ice maker, light, freezer, and the fan continue running on the second one so that was returned again. Weve got our third one since June the 26th and its now working great.

I bought a $8,500 Viking Refrigerator in late 2004. When I started having problems in 2017, I called the only appliance repair in Fredericksburg, VA for Viking. They arrived and charged $90 and told me to plug the fridge in after it defrosted. The repairman had taken out the basket and freezer door and took the screws with him. When I called them, they sent me an estimate for $1500. I asked them why $1500 estimate when they didnt run the diagnostics? They said that was the worst case scenario. How can anyone decide whether to repair or not if you dont know whats wrong. I called Viking customer service and they were indifferent. DONT BUY VIKING!

I’m not happy at all with the microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator has caused us problems such as freezing things. I had the maintenance guy come out five times and we had to get extra parts, but it’s still not fixed. This has been going on since August when we moved in and it’s now the end of January. So we’ve been dealing with this for six months off and on. We would like a brand-new fridge but I don’t know if Viking is going to do it. There still the one-year warranty. The only thing I was really happy with is the stove. The oven has been okay but it doesn’t heat up very quickly.

I had Viking for 20 years and on our last stove, we never had a problem. But this time, we had nothing but problems. We decided to put in the Viking range when we had a new house built and the first time we used the self-cleaning feature, all the boards were broken. Viking sent people for five months to fix it. They also had to take the range out then they sent in another range. But it was no good, too and the problem with that was you couldn’t bake without the griller coming on. So, we went through the holidays with no stove. And two days ago, they finally had people here to fix that and it’s finally working properly. Other than that, their customer service people couldn’t have been nicer when I dealt with them and they were pleasant to work with. But the problem was the wait time. When we started with the problem with Viking, it was the day after Thanksgiving and it just got resolved two days ago. So, that’s seven months we went without a stove. They didn’t even have people in our area that could come service the thing. In fact, when I first had an issue, I live in upstate New York and they tried to get a guy outta New York City but he wouldn’t come. Then they tried to get a guy outta Utica but he wouldn’t come either. And the clock was ticking, months were going by, and it was like we didn’t have a stove that we spent $15,000 on. They dragged their feet as far as getting us the part or getting somebody here. And the people above the reps I talked to would never follow through. When I asked them to call me and let me know any update, they said they would call me the next day. But two days would pass and I still didnt get a phone call. In the end, they made it right, got a hold of a local company, and spent thousands of dollars worth of parts to fix the stove. Still, for in wife’s perspective, we didn’t buy a refurbished stove. So even though it’s fixed, it’s still not like you get it outta the box. They had somebody come in and put new fans, new controls, and new motherboards, and it’s almost like it’s been refurbished. I’ve worked on a lot of stuff over the years and once you take something apart, it never quite goes back together the same. But Viking honored their warranty. The old stove that we had had a three-year warranty, which was a little disappointing on this stove now on which have a two-year full warranty. Still, the Viking ranges cook beautifully and they have nice features now with the racks that roll out and the ball bearing. One thing about stainless steel, it’s a pain in the butt. But they sent us a product called Thor which really cleans it up nicely. Our Viking range is beautiful stove, well-built, and heavy-duty. But after everything, they didnt even send me something for my inconvenience. Not even a can of cleaner. Viking also told me that the problem is the self-cleaning and that they wouldn’t recommend you really use it. But why are they selling the stove with it? This all started when we used the self-cleaning, which we did when it was new and we were testing everything out. It blew the motherboards out and one thing led to another. All in all, we got a lot of Viking appliances like the dishwasher, refrigerator, hood, and the wine beverage center. We’ve spent a lot of money on their products. But I wasn’t too happy with the stove in the last seven months and I would not buy another Viking stove again. I would neither tell my friends to spend $15,000 on a Viking stove, and have them call me up and say, “Geez, I bought this stove and I’m having the same problems you did.”

Other than that, the quality seems to be fine and the range seems to be working fine as well. The burners are very even.

Being in real estate, I’ve sold a few homes and looked at a lot of upper end homes and most of the nicer homes have the Viking appliances in them and that always piqued our interest. Ive also done a couple of build-outs where Ive used the Thermador and Viking and I tend to lean more towards Viking. I liked the performance of Viking. My wife is quite a good cook and she has an oven also from Viking. It performs really well and she’s happy with it.We like the style of the Viking Refrigerator. We also like the size of the pullout freezer and the adjustability of the shelves is another nice feature. We purchased through Pacific Sales and they were very knowledgeable on all the products. I financed the refrigerator because it was a 0% for 18 months. I ended up buying all four Viking products individually because they all matched. Im very impressed with the overall service. We’ve had a couple of needs for the appliance repair team to come out. They were very knowledgeable on the repair, were good communicators and took care of the problem. I’m very happy with all the units, the service and the sales team. I’d recommend Vikings.

Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

We bought a home thats a few years old, and it already had appliances in it as far as the refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Because I was doing a very large remodel in the kitchen, I needed my appliances to match. Weve heard really great things about Viking in the past, I didnt think twice about it. Well, was I ever so wrong. I should have just redid the whole kitchen for the amount of money that I ended up spending on Viking. We purchased a Series 5. Professional range, dual fuel, and with an overhead vent. Our dealer was Ferguson here in Houston. We didnt actually see it because they didnt have any on the floor but I said, “Well, we know were going to get it, so why do I need to see it? We’ll just buy it.” We ordered at the end of December because there was a special wherein if you buy the range and the overhead vent, you would get a free microwave. Ferguson does the installation, and there was too much back and forth with them. The guy and I were going back on whether it was a 7 or 10-inch blower hole, which is a very big difference and could be very costly if done wrong because youre cutting into an exterior wall. We ended up saying it should be a seven. But then when I was reading the notes of what I had purchased, it was saying that we needed a 10-inch hole. I called Viking and found out the salesperson at Ferguson ordered the wrong blower. Fortunately, I caught the mistake and didnt have the hole cut to 10 inches. I had them cancel the blower, reorder, and send us the correct blower.Ferguson wanted to come out for a second pre-site before they install the appliances to make sure we had done everything that met their criteria. We put in a 110 for the dual fuel range just like what they told us. The guy even wrote on my old crown molding on the wall 110. Guys came back for a check, and its a 240 or 220. At this point, my cabinets are done and its going to be very difficult to run a new electrical to the wall. My electrician somehow figured it out and was able to run a new electrical. He even called to confirm that you want for it to be hardwired into the wall. He was told, “Yeah, we dont need a plug. It just gets hardwired.” So he left it capped and ready for the range to be hardwired. Ferguson came and said, “No, it has to be plugged in.” Viking told us it could be hardwired, which Ive read in the installation manual personally but Ferguson said no and left the range in the middle of my kitchen. My electrician came back out and installed the plug. It was a whole mess but that’s just the beginning. My contractor said something was wrong with the vent hood. He held up a proper level, and the vent hood was crooked. When Ferguson installed the vent hood, they used a level that was one foot-long, so it wasnt really checking the whole thing. So they came back out to re-level it. They also ended up yanking the rubber feet off of the microwave because the hole that they measured for us was too small. The oven knobs were put on backwards so the oven wouldn’t come on. I was infuriated. I finally went back and looked at it after 30 minutes. I was like, “Oh, somebody put the knobs on wrong.” Okay, good. Oven works. I also had to pay a separate company to do ductwork because they wouldnt do it, which nobody could understand. We had a party with some friends on the 4th of July weekend. I went to cook a standing rib roast. Standing rib roast is cooked at 200 degrees until the rib roast reaches temperature. And then, from there, Im supposed to crank my oven to 500 and sear off that meat. Simple. Ive done this on a very cheap Samsung electric range, ‘cause thats what I had at my last house. The Viking never made it to 500. We waited for over an hour and a half. I have an existing Viking oven thats 13 years old, and it gets to 450 within a matter of minutes. So I dont understand why this big oven, thats brand new, and costs tens of thousands of dollars cant get a temperature. I called Viking, and the lady I got, Juanita, was not helpful. She said I have to have somebody come out. Ovens are finicky. My aunt has a Wolf and if you dont hit the button just so, it doesnt do what you want it to do. Juanita wasnt listening to my problem. I told her, Maybe I dont need somebody and you just need to tell me to click the button left or something.” She would not help me. The owner of the company came and said, “Well, it reaches 350 within the 25 minutes its supposed to. Theres nothing wrong with it.” I was like, “Something is wrong because its not getting to 500.” He said, “It gets to 350 in its normal time. But you need a new fan. Your fan’s loud.” I was like, “The thing is brand-new. How can I need a new fan?” He told me theres a Viking chart out in the world that Ive never gotten my hands on to this day, that is supposed to tell me how long it takes to go from 350 to 500. Theres an interval, like every 10 degrees, it takes 15 minutes or whatever it is. But he didnt know what it was. He tried to call Viking and he couldnt get it. I kept calling and would even try to talk to other Viking representatives but they said Juanita’s my case manager. Juanita was out of the office and they still would not help me.It took me until September to get it to work. For three months, I fought with people to get my oven to work. All they had to do was tell me, “If you would turn the oven off and turn it back on, itll use full voltage to go to 500.” What happens on Viking ranges is, once it hits the set temperature, it uses half the voltage to maintain the temperature of the oven that you have it set. Because you change your settings to a higher temperature, itll only use half the voltage to get to that point. Thats why Ive never reached 500. Horrible customer service. I was mortified by the service I received, especially after how much money I spent with Viking. Now that I know how the oven is supposed to work, I love it. Nobody could tell me that until right the second representative from Bar Appliance came out.

I got a Viking fridge knowing that it was one of the more expensive, better products for kitchen appliances. The purchasing process has been fine but the appliances have not been that great. Within one month of moving in, the defrost sensor crapped out and we lost all the food in our fridge. There was still a warranty for it but we had to lose money. I did not expect products of that quality and cost to arrive damaged. The other issue I have is that their plastic covering is horrendous to come off. Viking has a great reputation. We were looking into fitting into our budget long-lasting appliances. The place we bought them from was having a deal at the time, and it included all three appliances for a great deal. However, had it not been in the middle of a pandemic, would have been a lot easier. But there were some delays and some confusion as to when appliances were going to be delivered. Some were delivered at times when we were told they werent going to be, so our contractor wasnt prepared. But I love how heavy-duty it is. I went to the store and looked at all the different refrigerator models. I was doing a kitchen remodel and I was going for a certain kind of look. I was looking at the GE Café and the KitchenAid that had the kinda industrial handles. I didn’t find Viking Refrigerators until my second or third trip. The thing that basically made me go to the Viking was that it had the handles that match my GE Café double oven. It looks very similar. Also, I was going back and forth between the French door and the side by side. But when I finally decided on the French door, and that was a whole process, the thing that drove me away from the GE and the KitchenAid was the inside design. I liked Vikings inside design the best. Some of the situations on the others were, when the door was open, you couldn’t open the vegetable drawer all the way unless you really, really open the door wide. Sometimes, the French door even blocks the drawers from opening. Another issue was that a lot of times, the shelves had an enter too at the back so things would fall down the back. I didn’t like the fact that it’s like if I put something on the shelf and if it’s small enough, it’s gonna end up falling down at the back of the refrigerator and I really didn’t want that hassle. But the bottom line is I like the look. The quality in terms of not having maintenance issues was good.

The house that we purchased already had a Viking Range and so, we wanted to continue using Viking. So far, were not impressed with the refrigerator. Weve used Samsung more than anything else before and weve never had so many issues come up as we have with this $15,000 fridge. For one, Viking doesnt have a great after purchase service. When they delivered the fridge, there was something wrong with it. The whole process took about two months for them to come and exchange the fridge. And then this year, weve had issues with the freezer, where a portion of it doesnt seem to be working. Weve been back and forth with them trying to find some service provider in the vicinity. Only after two months and a lot of follow up did they finally have someone coming in to check and see whats going on. As to how long it would take them to actually fix it, Im not even sure. The thing is, they have a third party that deals with these things, so its not really the Viking dealer. Its just a number on the brochure. You call them and they send you off to some independent company that they have in your area, and theyre the ones that are supposed to come and take care of it. As a result, it keeps ping-ponging back and forth. Besides that, the fridge looks sleek and its nice to look at. Its wide and its spacious. I definitely dont have issues with storing anything. I like that the shelves are wide and tall. So in terms of space and cooling issues in the refrigerator, we havent had an issue. Although, our ice cubes have been melting since summer. But still, when things get out of hand, theyre gonna have a third party, not necessarily a Viking technician coming and dealing with your issues and theres a lot of bureaucracy and telephone calls involved in the middle that waste our time as a consumer. And when you spend so much money on a refrigerator, you sort of dont expect this. You want things to go smoothly. And it all goes back to how great that service provider is, which from my initial experience, theyre not great. We even had an issue finding the refrigerator in the beginning. We had to go to another city and order it. So, if I were to recommend Viking to somebody else, I would say make sure that if its not that easy to procure the item from the beginning, maybe it wont be that easy to get service after the purchase.

My comments echo the thread. I bought a Viking dishwasher in 2009. Im on my third repair. It worked poorly when it was up and running. Many of the electronic controls failed (e.g. did not run on pots and pans setting, but did run on normal). Now it simply does not run. I went into the repair shop on 5/14. As of 6/17, still waiting on parts from Viking. Customer service talks a good game, but thats about it. Its talk has not resulted in action. I have made a demand for a replacement washer (good luck right?). Ill update the thread on the outcome. For anyone who is thinking about a Viking, this thread speaks for itself. BTW, reliability issues aside, the parts do not fit (i.e. the rack attachments fall out of their fittings and develop rust. The silverware basket bottoms wear out, thus, allowing silverware to fall through).

I have known Viking Ranges for a long time but I never used it. Its high-end, and if you have a Viking in the house, its a good sales point to have. This time, I wanted the best of the best and for the purpose of investment so I bought one. However, the range is not the best as I expected but Im 80% happy about it. It doesnt have timers and setting like all the electronic-oriented, high-tech ranges have these days. Its very simple. Basically, turn the knob on or off. I like it, but more than that, it will help me. I dont have a particularly good eye, and I cannot see if its on or not, so I have to get used to it by feeling the knob. Thats all to it for this range. If you need the fancy features, dont get this one because it doesnt have any. But it does the job right, very straightforward and no frills.I originally purchased this at the local distributor on August 2016. It took three months to deliver through ocean freight because we live in Hawaii. On the day they delivered, the two delivery guys came and unloaded it from the truck. We live two levels up so they had to walk up the stairs. They start to complain about how far up it goes. It is a heavy unit at 400 pounds, so I understood. But at the same time, they said, Oh, there are two dents, one on the front, one on the side. I decided to take it because I thought it could be replaceable parts. But halfway through, two out of the six knobs came off. So, I refused the delivery. The store handled it okay. They gave me the refund which took a while then theyre going to replace the same item order. I made sure this time that the delivery guys did a good job, and they did. The range had no damage cosmetically and the knobs were intact. Its all in good shape. But thats not the end of the story. It finally arrived in the kitchen. But the delivery guys are trucking company people. So, I didnt request for the installation. The power cord needed to be hooked up to the unit because its electric, which I can do. I had the manual, and I was going to follow that. So, I started to open the back-side door to install the cable, but I noticed that its not the same as the picture in the manual. I called Viking and they sent one of the local repair companies to check it. It was the manufacturers mistake to mount the parts completely the wrong way.The repairman was professional, so he dismantled the whole power cable inside the unit, which I have no way to do. They fixed it and Viking was good about it. I didnt have to pay for that. But theres one other problem. The range is square and there are four legs. But the product they delivered had only three. They sent me the leg but on a different day. Im not that young anymore and I cannot move a 400-pound range by myself, lift it up and then install the legs. Its very dangerous and its not easy. So, I called Viking again and they understood the situation. They asked me to contact the same people who installed the cable but they said they will not come to install one leg. I said, The job was not completed. But they never got back to me--very rude voice and he sounded crazy. Im a customer. Why do I have to be accused like that? So, I called back Viking. I wanted somebody else to get sent over. I know its small job but its impossible to install it, and I was ready to pay for it. A very nice guy came over and did a five-minute work. He knew what to do. He installed it and I didnt have to pay for it. The range is working and doesnt have a problem. Viking is a great name and has good quality but getting it in the kitchen was just terrible. I understand Viking made a mistake and they handled this situation generously. But the experience of the whole purchase was a disaster. If I have a choice again, Im not going to buy Viking again ever. This is the last.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

Over the years, Ive seen Viking Ranges and I liked them. Their reputation made me want to purchase from them. I like my range but for the money, its not knocking my socks off. I feel I could get the same type of quality or use out of something that wouldn’t have cost me as much. The ranges door, which has been loose for a long time, could be improved. I’d also prefer if the rack didn’t have to be removed when cleaning the oven.

My brother bought a Viking range. His wife is a really great cook and they loved the range. We had a range that worked off one of those panels and it broke down so we had to replace it twice. We wanted to get something that was totally manual and looked sturdy. the Viking range looked like the real thing. And it was a special with the dishwasher. We needed one of those so it all kind of worked out together. The qualitys great and its a real pleasure. I like the grill on top and you can slide everything across. However, I would never go back to the Viking dealer, P.C. Richards, again. Their guys came and I made the mistake of letting them install the unit instead of calling the plumber. They wound up cutting the heat shield at the back of the stove and they had to replace it. It was two weeks of back and forth and it wasn’t fun. That aside, we talked to Viking Ranges and they gave us a list of dealers since we wanted to get their runners. Our kitchen countertop is Butcher Block and the stove is sitting in the middle of the Butcher Block. I like the same stainless steel edging that I could put on the Butcher Block that would be alongside the side of the stove, like an angle iron. It would be attached between the countertop and the stove.

Our home is new construction and not our permanent home. We plan to live in the house 50% of the time. We moved in October 20, 2020. We purchased all Viking kitchen appliances and mind you this is our first Viking purchase and will be our last. After the first use of the stove top, it started rusting. The front panel and the back vent panel. No chemicals were used to clean. All I used was dawn detergent, water and a microfiber cloth. After contacting Viking we were told that we have a 90 day cosmetic warranty so they are willing to replace the parts that are rusting. Huh??? The oven had not been used or the oven door had not been wiped down. The microwave or dishwasher had not been used either at this point. So Viking was to just replace the parts that are rusting and Im to hold my breath that nothing else rusts in the 90 days or it will not be covered. Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable?I told Viking that stainless steel should not rust and so quickly. After submitting a request to Viking for a replacement range, management declined my request. I bet if “management” paid $7000 for a range and it rusted the first time they cooked, they would not find this acceptable. I will never buy Viking again and their customer service stinks. I’ve had to call Viking every time because they do not call back or follow up.

I bought a new Viking 48” side by side fridge freezer 10 years ago and had the kitchen built around it. It looks fantastic and I felt pretty smug thinking I had a sub zero look but for a fraction of the price. However, 2 months ago it suddenly failed and started heating up rather than cooling. Here is the problem - I’m in the UK and Viking no longer trade in the UK. Despite contacting Viking numerous times I am yet to find an accredited engineer that will touch it. Quote “ I used to work on them but it got so difficult to get parts”. I found a local engineer who has serviced it and replaced the refrigerant but it is still faulty and now he tells me there must be an internal leak and therefore impossible to fix. So I have a £6,000+ fridge freezer which is useless and being more than 300kg in weight I don’t even know how I can remove it. To date Viking has offered no advice or help. No customer service whatsoever.

The dealer, Mario, did an awesome job of telling us all the benefits. We ended up going with Viking because he said that they stood behind their product and he had never heard complaints from anyone. That was the bottom line where we ended up buying 30 some thousand dollars of equipment there from Best Buy. I bought an entire kitchen of Viking. We have a microwave, a wine cooler, the gas range and the hood. So, all we need is a ship now to be a complete Viking. The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I also had some issues with the icemaker but we got that resolved and it was more of a connection issue. We had some issues with our dishwasher and we had to have it replaced. Also, I’m disappointed that the French oven doors didnt seal correctly. But other than that, they look fine. Were working through the service folks that Viking recommended to us and right now, Im still waiting for those. But so far, Im very happy.

We have some friends that have Viking appliances, and they also recommended it. We bought our Viking Range at Best Buy. It was delivered and hooked up. Everything was fine from the beginning and we love it.There was an issue with the stove. There was a knob that was not working correctly, but the company came out. They were referred to us by Viking. They fixed it, and we havent had any issues ever since. The qualities are great. I cook a lot, and I feel like all the items, the fridge and the stove in particular, are very sturdy and heavyweight. They seem to work better than the last stove and refrigerator that we had. My wife and I are very happy.

I have a 120 year old Queen Anne with a beautiful Chefs Kitchen filled with all Viking Appliances. I have 500 to 600 people visit and touring this historic Victorian house on an annual basis. The 36 Viking Refrigerator stopped cooling both the refrigeration and freezer sections. I contacted the local high-end appliance center, and was told by them, that they no longer work with Viking because of their very poor service of there appliances, especially their refrigerators. I spoke with all other neighbors in our mansion district and was told the same thing. So, this was shocking because I own a complete set of Viking appliances in my beautiful kitchen.Nevertheless, I decided to find out myself, what experience of service I would get by contacting Viking. Well... the person on their (1866) toll free number, kind of summed it up as exactly like I was warned. The unhelpful person referred me to the closest authorized service company 75 minutes away, which after calling twice and not hearing back, lead me to believe I was dealing with a truly amateur company. I am highly thinking of changing-out ALL the Viking appliances to a more professional manufactures.

I purchased all top-of-the-line Viking appliances for my recently renovated kitchen. Unfortunately, my 48 refrigerator with ice/water dispenser in the door has never functioned. The ice dispenser freezes-up and will not rotate to dispense the ice. Viking and Hadco (the local distributor) sent Mr. Appliance to get it working on six separate occasions, but they could not determine why it freezes-up. Now Hadco and Viking have been discussing the issue for the past 4 months. I simply want it removed from my kitchen and my money returned! I do not recommend a Viking refrigerator especially when the manufacturer and distributor cannot simply replace my $10k refrigerator lemon with one that works!

We also worked with someone whos certified to fix Viking and he told us that the fridge is probably on its way out and that we should consider buying a new one. But I like the brightness of my Viking refrigerator.

As a very dissatisfied and disappointed Viking customer, I would never recommend the product to anyone. I have often said to anyone who listens that our Viking kitchen appliances was the worst purchase we ever made. We have had more repairmen here to work on the highly touted Viking appliances in the last 6 years than in our entire 40-year history of home/appliance ownership. It is a joke. We are currently waiting for the Viking repairman once again to come fix the refrigerator to hopefully stop the leaking that is damaging our hardwood floor. If I was independently wealthy, I would throw them all away; but Im not. We made what we thought was a wise investment that would last us through retirement. Im sure we will end up replacing all at some point when Ive lost all my patience. If I do a Pinterest, it would be labeled Stay away from Viking far, far away. There are much better, more reliable, less expensive products. Viking beauty is only skin deep.

Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

One of the selling points of the home we just bought was that it had Viking appliances, and weve had nothing but trouble from them. Ive been calling since the beginning of December. I was told that the earliest appointment anyone could come to see our freezer was January 18th, but no one has called to confirm that with me. Someone is supposed to be coming. We keep kosher as part of our dietary restrictions and our meat is rather expensive. Weve had to throw out hundreds of dollars of meat because every night, my freezer stops being cold and goes up to 7,8,9, 10 degrees above freezing so it all thaws. Every morning, I have to put on max freeze. I would much prefer to have my GE stuff at my old house any day of the week. Also, their customer service has been terrible and its a bad product overall.

I’ve used Viking for several years. I’ve had a 16-inch Viking range in one house and had some other Viking and Jenn-Air appliances as well. But Ive always gone back to Viking. My wife likes them because the big Viking ranges have removable inserts so when we spill and things flow over on the gas ranges, we lift the grating off and then there’s a pan that we can lift out on the older ones that makes it much easier to clean. But in my current house, I bought a Viking surface gas range and it’s a pain in the ass because I can’t pull those pans out to clean them.I also have a non-built in refrigerator and I had it drop shipped to my house. I unpacked it, installed it myself, set it all up, and it’s perfect. I like the LED lighting in them. Its just a nice touch to it when I open the doors. Also, the handles have a substantial feel which at times, feel a little better than industrial feel. Others are still in boxes and they’re waiting to be installed. One’s a built in refrigerator, built in freezer, and a built in wine cooler. And I have a construction project going on right now so they’re not going to be installed for another four weeks if all goes smoothly. One of the reasons I’ve gone overboard with Viking is because when I went a local supplier where I’m at to look at Viking and they didn’t stock them any more They said, “Well, we actually just had to pull them out because we don’t do enough business here. Viking is consolidated per dealership network. And so I called another dealer and they said, “Yeah. We’ve been buying up all the demo Viking stuff and Viking bought stuff from other dealers ‘cause they’ve gone through a dealer consolidation. So I ended up going to a dealer in Dallas, Texas and buying most of my Viking appliances from them. We got a really good discount because they had been buying up inventory from other dealerships in this consolidation so my timing was right.Nonetheless, I spent over $20,000 but Ive got three refrigerators, a wine cooler, two stove tops, one gas, one induction, and one Viking wall oven and two Viking warming drawers. My wife absolutely loves the wall oven because they’re French doors, and she’s short. She’s burned herself on oven doors trying to reach into the oven to pull things out and so those French doors are phenomenal for short people because they can get right into the oven without having to reach over the door when they open the door down in a conventional oven. Ive already recommended them to a couple of friends that were remodeling their kitchens. I even told them where to go and a couple of dealerships that I worked with that gave really good pricing.

Weve had our Viking refrigerator for eighteen years. In that time weve had three service calls and one recall. Now the unit needs a complete new cooling system costing thousands of dollars. Realizing that the unit was way out of warranty, I called customer service anyway to see if they would a least share part of the repair cost with me. They were adamant that they would not. When I purchased the unit I fully expected that it would outlast the less expensive brands. An independent repairman suggested that it would be worthwhile to forego repair and buy another refrigerator, not a Viking as he considers them as expensive junk. I guess cost does not equal quality.

We purchased a very expensive Viking refrigerator from Best Buy a couple years ago. Within just a few months, all of the adjustable shelves in the door started to break. The shelves are a combination of metal and brittle plastic. Once the plastic shatters, they are unrepairable. The replacement of the shelves is NOT covered by the warranty. I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We were building a house and knew that we wanted a chef standard range. Viking was one of the options and the price was fairly decent when we purchased it. I like the gas burners and the convection oven which cooks our food faster. The quality is also very good. I previously had an electric range and its not even in comparison with my Viking range, not even close. However, we recently had to get two of the switches replaced for the ovens and the ovens were down for almost a month. There are only 2 companies authorized to work on them through Viking and the D&T Appliance is not a very good company. Viking had over 300 of the parts in stock, but it took forever to send them and get my ovens fixed. Were in the process of selling the house and I dont know if Ill buy another Viking because of that. Viking knows theres something wrong with it. They wont have 300 of those parts in stock if those switches werent bad. I love my Viking range but I dont know if I would recommend it because of the customer service. If there’s nothing with it, it’s the best range out there. If something goes wrong with it, good luck.

The first range, a 36 open burner and the range hood, have been fine for 12 years. Surviving a move to a new house even. The dishwasher purchased at the same time started badly staining glassware & silver after a couple years. Viking said it was crappy dishwasher soap (phosphates removed) but the Bosch at our ranch did fine. Limeaway removed the staining temporarily. Inspected the racks and found the plastic coating cracked exposing the carbon wire core which was rusting. Viking said theyd happily sell me new racks for $450. Compared it to a neighbors dishwashers, found it to be an Asko. Racks were less than half Vikings. Very Funny. 30 open burner gas stove at ranch would not light/stay lit. Viking said likely master propane regulator was bad (but fireplace & Rannai water heater worked fine). Third-party repair person specified by Viking found range regulator out of limit, requested replacement. A month later, no regulator after many calls. I built a water manometer, adjusted Viking regulator to spec, range worked fine. Then noticed when range top leveled, triangular gaps between range & counter face. Adjusting feet to plumb range sides with counter made range top 1/2 bubble off. Viking said floor not level (it was fine). Problem was range not square, back had been screwed on with sides not plumb. Called third party repair person, he said call somebody else. Viking hadnt paid him for diagnosing the regulator problem. Removed back, squared stove, replaced back (new screw holes required), problem solved. BBQ looked massively professional but cast-iron burners holes continually rusted shut, had to be reamed twice a year. Porcelainized sheet iron flame diffusers and grates didnt last two years (their new ones are stainless), found SS burners, diffusers & grates on the internet for 1/4 Vikings prices. Drip-drawer plastic (!), rollers melted immediately, replaced with SS. Moral: Great appearance, great brochures, celebrity endorsements (paid, most likely), a generous retail mark-up (probably) encourages dealer loyalty and dealer omission of known crappy quality control, crappy build details and total absence of warranty service discharge. Wouldnt buy anything Viking again...

Our refrigerator was leaking from the inside for quite a number of months. As we were going through various showrooms and appliance stores, we had seen the Viking Refrigerators and looked into them. We chose Viking because we found a refrigerator that was on clearance and it was something that would fit in our space at the time and fulfill our needs. Its working very well. I like the way the upper interior is organized. I also like the sturdiness of the back which is in the lower freezer compartment. Were very happy and satisfied with it. I would it recommend it to a friend.

I went to the building in Manhattan. It has all the showcases and thats where I picked out the Viking Range. I liked their reputation and the price point. Then I called Appliance World and they had it shipped to my house. During delivery, it came damaged as the bottom trim piece was dented. I called Appliance World and within three days, I had the little piece over here ready in the mail. The fact that I went from an electric grill to a gas grill makes a big difference to me. Its been about a year now since Ive had it and its been a good stove and hood.

I bought a refrigerator, a dishwasher and a range based on Vikings reputation. Their appliances quality is good. I like the power burners which is like 15,000 unit burners. However, Vikings customer service stinks. I had a problem with my refrigerator. When it was delivered, I couldn’t use it for two months. I spoke with a customer service rep and it was very hard to get the pieces. I waited for two months. Now it’s finally done, but I must have made 30 or 40 phone calls. I was very unhappy with that.

I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

Viking has quality in its name and it was on sale at the store so I bought a stove that is a combination convection and a radiant oven. The quality of the construction is good and the oven works well, but the durability of the trim and details is poor. The grates have a little rubber piece that plugs into the bottom of it that separates from the range-top that it sits on and those have started falling out. I called Viking and they said that those were only covered by a 90-day warranty. I was pretty displeased about that. I talked to managers there and they wouldn’t stand behind their product so it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I thought that they needed to take this seriously. I was shocked by their willingness not to stand behind the three months when this company has such a good brand reputation. And no one seemed to really care about it. I never felt that they were really well tuned in to the customer.

I bought a Viking Induction Range and dishwasher in June 2010 and the left side burners do not work now, May 2012. On August 12, the new parts needed to be replaced again. This piece of junk is putting Viking products mildly. I threw out the $3,000.00 dishwasher after the fire (in the dishwasher) and bought Miele. I’m thinking of doing the same for this one.

I had to look up the refrigerator that would fit in the spot of the old refrigerator. Viking refrigerator was one of the two that would fit. We talked with the salesman and Viking Refrigerators was the better of the two purchases. It was with the Pacific Sales at Best Buy and it was very nice. They were knowledgeable and it was easy to purchase. Then the refrigerator was delivered. They took out the old one and put the new one in. So far, I’ve liked everything about the refrigerator. We haven’t had any problems with it.

I got the tall, 36-inch one-door refrigerator with the drawer-freezer on the bottom. I got three of those. I got one for the basement and two for my kitchen. So, I put them side-by-side. We have a big family, and we buy a lot. The refrigeration’s going okay. After like a month, the one in the basement stopped working. They did set up service. Something was leaking up on top. So, they did schedule somebody to come out, and it took a while to get the part. Then, by the time the tech came out, it was three months later. So, there was no refrigeration usage in the basement. It was kind of a little disappointing that we had to deal with that. Also, whenever I open that one little drawer where the ice bin is, I always seem to lose ice cubes into the freezer. It shuts itself off, but I dont think it shuts itself off soon enough once its a bit full, or if the bin is not large enough that ice cubes tend to fall out whenever we open that door. So, that was something I wasnt too crazy about because now I got ice cubes on the bottom of the freezer that I gotta try to get out. I think theyre priced high because of these little issues. When you spend so much money, you expect it to be perfect. You dont expect these little things just happen the way they do. I would expect that on a very less expensive refrigerator freezer.
