My wife likes cooking so we wanted to buy a professional-level range. We got one from Viking Range and it has an oven and convection and it heated up very fast to the temperature that I set up when broiling. But when I tried to do baking and set up the temperature to 300 it never heated up to 300. I thought there were some ignition issues so I tried for a couple of times and sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn’t. I planned on trying more times to see exactly what the issues were. I also called them before to tell them what the issues were and they said they couldn’t help unless I register my product so I did. And when I called them back I waited for around five minutes but they were busy and I couldn’t get an answer so I just hung up and stopped trying. The call didn’t go to voicemail as well but they were nice during the conversation with them. Overall, it was good. My wife cooks all the time using it and I notice that the power is really strong. We have six burners and the heat is very consistent and in general I like it a lot.

We saw Viking in homes that we were looking to buy. And we felt that the home we bought was in the same price range as those homes so we also got a Viking range. Were very happy with it. I like the size of the oven and its bigger than the previous one that we had. The range is doing great and I would definitely recommend Viking.

This is the worst refrigerator on the market. In the 2.5 years we have owned the unit, we have had the following issues: handle broke off the ice drawer, handle broke off the vegetable crisper drawer, the hinge that keeps the door from hyper-extending has busted twice, the fan went bad, AND on top of that there is a faulty design with the circulation system that is supposed to circulate air from the freezer to the refrigerator -- it causes everything on the top shelf of the refrigerator to freeze, so we cant put anything on the top shelf (I talked to many Viking employees who admit they are aware of the problem and theres nothing they can do about it)! I just called customer service to plead for a new crisper drawer since our warranty just expired and it is clearly a faulty design. The handle is not secure on the drawers and breaks off very easily and they said, No, you will have to pay $213 PLUS shipping and handling for a new plastic drawer. The last refrigerator we owned cost $10,000 less and we didnt have a single problem in 10 years. Please dont buy a Viking refrigerator!

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.

In my last home that I built, we put a Viking range and a hood in it. I did research on it at the time and it was one of the highest rated in Consumer Reports. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. There should be a safety locking device on it for children.

Our very expensive Viking built in refrigerator keeps leaking from the freezer. It is besides other numerous problems it has developed since we bought it 1.5 ago. There is a few technicians available in the area. We also bought a Viking 6 burner range. Its been disastrous as well. We bought a Viking toaster and loved until it was recalled and deemed life threatening. Stay away from VIKING!!!

I purchased a 48-inch built-in Viking refrigerator and I thought it was going to be nice to match the manufacturer of the refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. But ever since the Best Buy people brought the appliances, I’ve been having issues with them. Their delivery, installation, and the product itself. I don’t think that whoever delivered these products were qualified to do this job. Nothing was level and regardless if the unit itself is broken or not, they should at least try to level it. And the range was the floor model and the door was not rocking. So, the installer was telling us that it was broken. The door itself tends to get rust so I should’ve never bought the floor model. With the refrigerator, the first delivery people and the installer took about four hours to fit the door together to close it right. Two days after they left, the door was not closing. And when you open the door all the way, it made a loud metal hitting noise. I’m very dissatisfied. I went to Best Buy and they have decided to replace the refrigerator with a brand-new one and I made a return on the Viking Range floor model. I purchased the brand-new one by paying the differences and hopefully, with this replacement I don’t get any problem.

It took me almost a year for Viking to come back out with the right technician to fix the refrigeration and ice maker problems of their built-in refrigerator. I went through five different times and until to the point that I threatened them that they will get my lawyer to call and try to get a brand-new refrigerator. Finally, they came back out with a different technician to get it right.

I sold all brands of appliances for 30 years, when I retired I bought a 30 in dual fuel Viking range. The way they are built, the customer service I got and my customers got over the years was by far the best in the industry. This belief paid off when after 5 years my range oven liner crazed. Because the liner could not be replaced or repaired Viking replaced my range with a New model at cost. Best Service Ever!

I was unhappy with Viking Range. It wouldnt hold temperature and it was serviced a number of times by a variety of authorized service agents and it cooks extraordinarily a long time to get it to function the way one would expect a range should. It took many months to get it working. So, the low point definitely was that the initial manufacturing quality was way out of alignment and I expected a lot more out from it being a full type model range. My experience with it has been rough. But I like its center burners, coupled with after the fact we acquired an integrated griddle piece that sits on top, which Im guessing Viking did use some mileage with that kind of burner.

Ive had Viking in a previous home 15 years ago. At that time, I liked it better than anything else that was comparable of the professional series. However, theres one thing that some of the other ranges have that Viking didn’t and maybe still doesn’t have, and that’s different sized burners. My wife makes espresso every morning with the little Italian coffee pot, and all of the flame diameters are bigger than the actual espresso pot that were using. So we have to put it on the side and it uses about a third of the flame and two-thirds that has nothing. I know that some other brands have ones where the back burners are small. It’s the only thing that I wish was different. But I like that Viking is sturdy and uses gas.

We bought a Viking refrigerator based on the quality of their stoves. Within the first two years, the ice maker had to be repaired, and then again a year later. Not only were the repairs expensive ($500), it took two weeks for their preferred repairman to get here. The most expensive appliance we ever bought, needed the earliest repairs, and for the most money-not a smart purchase.

I used to live in another house that was already built by someone else and they had Viking appliances. I am used to Viking and I didn’t have any problems back then and I was happy with the appliances. But now, I’m having trouble with the new appliances and mainly with the refrigerator. I had it replaced in March because of a water leakage and the new one is doing exactly the same. It is noisy, too. I tried to get the new one back in November from last year. And then, they sent me the fridge but not the freezer because the freezer was working right. They said they will match them because they’re independent units, but when the guy opened the box, it didn’t match. The handle and a couple of things that you can see were different. If you’re having your freezer beside your fridge, you want the handles to be the same height.I had to talk to Viking for them to take back the fridge. They had to arrange if I had a new freezer because they didn’t have the previous model in stock since they stopped doing it. They sent me both a freezer and a fridge, and within four months, I’m having the same issue again. The technician who came to fix it was the one who came five times for the previous unit and he said there was nothing else he can do. He said he did everything that was possible to switch, to change, to check if it’s working, and it is still the same. When he was here a couple of months ago, he said that Viking was having a lot of problems with the fridge and all their refrigerators were having the same issues. They don’t even know what is going on. The technician used to be a Viking technician and because Viking is having a lot of problems and customers are complaining about their fridge, he moved to another company. And the most recent time I called Viking, the same technician came to my house, but he was working for a third party who is giving service to Viking. I’m so disappointed and I’m tired of having a technician every four months and take everything out of the refrigerator for him to work on it for more than two hours.

I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and Ive seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didnt keep up.The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasnt the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery. The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that. The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didnt know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is weve had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, its just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

I went around to a lot of different stores, saw the different functionalities and I liked what Viking had to offer. The range has a great quality. I like the burners, the burner heads, and the way that it looks. I like that youre able to proof the dough in the oven. I also love the French door oven option that Viking has. They listened and paid attention to the problem that I told them we had with the range. And they acted on it. That aside, the quality is very good. I like the style and the look of the product and my favorite feature is the oven. We read a lot of reviews online and researched, and we really like the Viking Refrigerator. Its brand recognition and quality made me choose the brand over their competitors. We ordered the one through Best Buy and when the delivery company damaged our door threshold, Best Buy took care of it. They fixed it and made it right. Wow. Im glad I discovered this site. It is somewhat comforting to know that so many other people have been totally screwed by Viking CRAP. My $10,000.00 Professional refrigerator is a total joke. The produce drawers freeze everything. The inside is fragile plastic and replacing parts is a nightmare. I talked to a carpenter just today about re-configuring the cabinetry that the Viking Professional (48 X 83) is built into, and replacing it with a normal refrigerator designed for a home. I also bought a double Thermador oven and 48 cooktop. I like it, but was told by the store that the appliances were purchased from that when things start to break on the stove, I wont be able to replace any parts because Thermador has an aggressive obsolescence policy, and you cant get parts after 7 years.I will replace the cooktop with a Wolf cooktop when it finally stops working.

I like my Viking refrigerator, and its style. It fits my needs with all the drawers it has. I like that the freezer doesn’t dry things out and there’s never a freezer burn. When I put something in it, it does not taste like the refrigerator. Also, the ice never tastes funny. I don’t care how old the ice is. It’s perfect. Those are the important things. However, the drawers were cracked. I had a bottle of soda explode in it, and it flows on the top shelf. It’s leaking, and there are only two of us living in the house so it’s not from overuse or abuse. The repairmen have been coming out fixing everything, and the drawers are now fixed and the leak is gone. When we have a problem, we call the dealer and they send someone out, and now they escalated it so someone from Viking comes out. They’re responsive.

Viking was already the brand we had in the kitchen. The refrigerator broke, so I replaced it with the same brand. I bought it through a third-party seller and the experience was poor. The product was delivered with a manufacturer defect. The doors had to be zip-tied up because the installation is difficult if the doors are moving about. After it was installed, my husband and I realized the doors dont close. What upset me about the third-party vendor was that they said that its our problem, not theirs, and left. But Viking immediately stepped in and sent help with their repair people around town. I have had to use them on two or three occasions once again, all from the defect of original product delivery. No issues that went wrong. They have been incredibly responsive. Its a brand that stands by its quality. On the other hand, they did let a fridge that doesnt have doors that close past inspection somehow, so thats also strange. But when they realized they messed up, they fixed it. The refrigerator is not the right size and its a loud machine, but it does the job and has lots of storage.

The tech came out three days ago and determined the thing in the bottom needed to be completely repaired. He gave us a quote on what it is going to cost to fix that. Also, some of the lights aren’t working and we have to replace them. We love the industrialized look, but looking at this is a $10,000 refrigerator, one would think that these issues wouldnt be happening, but they are. We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

We were looking for refrigerators when remodeling our kitchen, and I liked the inside of the Viking. I wish I hadnt picked Viking though. After 12 years, we had to replace the refrigerator. We have the double that are side by side, which was extremely expensive in replacing it. And now, its been double the price. So, I dont have good feelings about Viking. I would never buy it again. We paid to have it fixed once or twice, which was very expensive. I had found the quality to be very poor. There was something wrong with our freezer door, which the freezer mechanism has already been replaced as well at great expense. I complained immediately about the refrigerator when it was put in. It should have been replaced. The door was faulty. I was put through so many hoops. We finally gave up. That door should have been replaced from the beginning, and then we wouldnt have had this problem. They wanted to charge us $600 to come out to look at it before they even replaced it after we had already spent money and had it evaluated by somebody they approved of. They were charging us again. They should come and take both of the refrigerator and freezer out and replace them. Im very unimpressed. Im disappointed with Viking refrigerator and freezers.

We know and we like Viking so we go Viking all the way. We have two stoves, one gas, one electric, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Theyre easy to use and everythings upfront. Everything else we buy these days, including a car, comes with a tutorial on DVDs and 48-page pamphlets just to introduce the other pamphlets. But Viking we just look at it and there it is. Our Viking refrigerator is only a few days old and so far its been fine compared to the other one, which was a disaster. Its very steady and has a door alarm. In case I get caught in a fugue like state I can always be reminded by the alarm. And everythings uniform in terms of refrigeration throughout the compartment, which we like. I also like that it has a barrier bar between in the back of the right hand door so when we’re closing it it really seals. The ice maker is good. We can turn it off if we dont want it and there are no issues about leaks and going into trays. It is very self-contained and efficient. The Viking dealer have very friendly folks. They told us about others brands, more for contrast. They didn’t try to sell us anything else. Once they saw we were going Viking they reinforced things and they were very efficient. There was a lot of communication. They called us back and forth. The driver with the appliance had called us three times telling about his route. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, price wise and in terms of the delivery date and the people who brought it in. The delivery folks were great. They spent over an hour leveling things and they did a great job. They were very careful and neat and one of the best deliveries weve had since we were here. The only thing that Id have to get used to is the bottom drawer which is a long drawer and gives good storage for the cold zone but theres nothing about that that we use right now. Although I could see for the future we might be loading different sorts of perishables in there. We have to open both doors to get that lower drawer open. Its not a problem it just culturally I hadnt been doing that. And should a friend ask me about Viking refrigeration I’d say, “If youre rich, get it.”

Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.

We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I dont know if that’s in the materials because it’s sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people. Also, there was a problem with the ranges starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesn’t match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I don’t think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.

We bought our Viking 6-burner range used, with very low usage on it. It looked all pretty with the stainless parts, and worked well... for a year or two. After a while, Ive noticed the lack of stainless parts and fasteners where it matters. This thing is just a rust-bucket. We live in an area where steel is not particularly prone to corrosion - the lousy materials are to blame. Rusty, creaky door hinges (maybe that is why our door actually stays closed :-o). Rotting gas oven burner. The pan under the grates has rust-through. On and on. If I thought this was a long-term keeper, Id order a truckload of igniters for the oven, as they go out regularly. If I had to pay someone to work on this, it would be much cheaper to buy something else. Rubbish! Id rather have an old 55-gallon drum and scrap wood than another one of these.

We moved into a new house and my wife originally wanted a Sub-Zero but we couldn’t afford that so she decided that the Viking was the coolest looking, most durable, best line of refrigerators to look at. We got a new model and we’re really happy with it overall. We like its look and the solid feel. However, there were just a few cosmetic problems with it. It was a new model and they hadn’t worked out the bugs. When they installed the handles on it for all the different doors, screwing the screws too hard puts a dent in the stainless steel. But if they don’t do it hard enough, they loosen and start falling off. Also, there’s a bar handle and these connectors that they have to screw on don’t match the surface of the fridge very well. When they put it on, there’s an 8th or 16th of an inch gap between that little thing and the handles if they don’t put it on right. They finally figured out how to do it and got new parts. We’ve had to have the repair guys come out four times for those handles and ended up replacing a whole front piece of the refrigerator. The freezer is the one that we got to pull right from the middle. If we pull from the side, it screws it up. We were pulling it right and it just came out. Their staff didn’t give us any hassle. In fact, the last time the handle pulled of, it was past the one year but they always call someone to come out and fix it which we really appreciate. They kept doing whatever it took to get it right. The last guy that fixed it put some super-duper glue where the screw goes in and since then, everything is good but we had to go through all that rigmarole. Viking needs to work out the handle for this model and make sure when people put it on, it doesn’t dent the surface stainless steel because that takes away the beauty of the whole thing.

I used to work in the restaurant biz and I’ve heard about Viking for a long time. I knew it was gonna be a good stove oven and I liked the way it looked. I keep on telling everybody it’s like my whole life I’ve been driving a beat up Datsun and now I’m driving a Volvo or Rolls-Royce. You can just feel how the quality is and it’s excellent. Also, I like its sturdiness, the rollout shelves, the LED lighting over the little controls, the handles and everything about it. My husband was good with Viking. He is a contractor and he did the installation. My plumber had roughed out the gas line, according to the install directions, and then when the actual oven showed up, you couldn’t install where that gas line was. My husband called Viking and explained the problem about their drawings. That went well but we had to move the gas line which was not great. Still, people should go for Viking Ranges. It’s an expense and it’s gonna be more expensive but it was the biggest choice I had to make. I looked at others like Wolf, BlueStar and American and I liked all of them but I decided on Viking and I’m very happy with my decision.

The first two Viking refrigerators that we had, the ice maker went out. The first one burned out within 60 days. They replaced the ice maker and that burned out within two months. They then gave us a brand-new refrigerator and that lasted a few months and the ice maker burned out again. Were on our third replacement and now everythings working great. As long as the ice maker is functioning, were gonna be very happy. The point that they stood behind their product and kept replacing it even when there were flaws makes me feel positive about Viking. Their support of the consumer who bought the product is very positive.

I needed a new oven after 31 years. I started doing research and going to different places. I had certain requirements like Ive got animals and I wanted induction. I also wanted front knobs and dials. I didnt want all the push button stuff. I also needed a free-standing unit. Through my process of elimination, I was deciding between a KitchenAid and a Viking because theres no Miele here in east of London. The KitchenAid didnt work because I didnt like the way the controls were positioned on the surface of the unit. Then I was at the appliance shop and I started looking around at the different models. I saw the Thermador then I found that they only do gas. Then I looked at the Viking and it looked like a beautiful piece of equipment. I loved the fact that its 100% stainless on the side. Its not piecemealed with a black metal and just a front view of stainless. I love the front dials. Theyre very professionally done. I like the flat surface and the design of it. Theyve got squares and circles inside not these curves and arrows that go all across like a contemporary artwork piece. Moreover, its an exceptional oven and has a great induction. I love it. It cooks well and faster. It also heats up my water wonderfully because Im doing a pitcher of tea every two days. I dont have to wait six minutes anymore to boil my five cups of water. I also like that as soon as I open the door, the light goes on. I dont have to sit there and press the light then open the door kind of thing. I like the fact that its got three trays, two slide and one regular. I like the slide trays. Ive only used my oven about a dozen times and so far, so good. However, theres no timer and when I pointed it out to them they said its because its a Brigade Professional. But its not a major deal because I have a little timer right by the stove. So thats my unit and its the best range. I bought it at the appliance shop and dealt with one of the owners. He was very professional. I tend to do more research than the average customer and therefore I tend to have more questions. I try and dot my Is and cross my Ts and he took the time with me. I wouldnt hesitate to go back when I need a second appliance. This range is very expensive and I cant afford to make a mistake on an appliance because its not something that I can take back and say its not working and I need to get another one. I have a good warranty from Brigade for three years. I also bought the maximum extended warranty of three years so Im hoping I never have to call on a warranty issue. Im hoping this thing lasts me 20 years. But the fact that the warranty is three years and not a year has to say something, too, because everything else has a warranty for one or two years. And I know Viking was going down to two but Im glad I got the three.

Nothing but disappointment. Self cleaning safety device broke immediately after we purchased it. Both hinges broke on the door almost burning my daughter as it fell to the floor burning hot. Repairs cost a fortune and side note... decals that show functions wore away after a year. If you love cooking like my family and want a quality stove steer away from Viking. Do some research before you spend $5,000.

Recently, the whole freezer got clogged up and I had to shut the whole unit down. I also had to replace a part in the fridge which cost me around $600. Getting the unit repaired was difficult because the two places registered with Viking in my area were terribly reviewed. Plus, those places were not able to help me immediately.

We have a full suite of Viking appliances. Its pricey but we chose them for their reputation and style. My wife likes the refrigerator more but I find it a little too shallow. Everythings up front. But aesthetically, its very pleasing and it goes with the other appliances as well as the rest of the redone kitchen, and it’s so far, so good. Initially, we had a problem with the refrigerator. It was probably within the first month. Id found a puddle of water below the freezer on the floor. I did not appreciate that at all. It had gone into a defrost mode unexpectedly, and we had to throw everything in the freezer away. The icemaker has that bar that will cut it off as it slows up. That doesnt work. The ice overflows and ends up on the bottom of the freezer. It’s never turned itself off, so you have to turn it off manually to stop the ice being generated. Otherwise, if you pull out the top shelf of the freezer, its higher than the rod because it pushes it out of it, pushes it to the back and out the back, off the end. Were not the only ones. We speak to other people who have it, and they say they have the same issue. From what I understand, there is no fix. It just doesnt do what you thought it would do. Thats something that from a design perspective should be looked at.

Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

There was a Viking Range in the house that we just bought. It exhausted and we bought another Viking Range to replace it and its excellent. It did exactly what it advertises it does and you know its well. It looks good in our kitchen and it works. We have three young kids so for us whats important is the functionality and having no issues. As long as the burners go on and we could cook things and use the oven like we do every day, and as long as its high functioning thats great for us.However, Snyder Diamond did not do a good job of communicating with us. They quoted us a certain time frame where the range would be ready but it wasnt ready then. They had the company that they recommended install the range go pick it up at the factory wherever they were holding the stoves and it wasnt there yet. They miscommunicated so it took longer than it should have and it was Snyder Diamonds fault, not the people who installed it. I thought they quoted me in when it will be installed by and then that was pushed by a weekend into the next week. Also, it was hard to get them on the phone or going through that process. I had an email back and forth with the guy from Snyder Diamond cause I was like, Can you give me a call? and he just wouldnt respond. And then I had to literally track him down. We needed the range and Ive never been frustrated and I dont understand why I cant get a callback about this. We were then about to spend $8,000 or $10,000 on this range and I deserved a callback in a timely way.It was top of the time because my wife was pregnant. We needed a stove for heating milk and everyday things, like for breakfast, and every day that passed was getting tenser for us. Its unfortunate for me that theyre the closest distributor of all these parts or products thats in my house now because Im trapped when it comes to dealing with them. On the other hand, the installers were excellent and they had their stuff together. They called me and they got to the bottom of it. They were problem solvers and Snyder Diamond was not.

Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. Then the oven that we chose worked for a month and stopped working, too. We had technicians coming back and forth with new parts for three times, but it never worked. And it took a while, from February until October, until Viking decided to give us a new one. We have a new oven now and its working. The refrigerator is also working now, so Im happy. But I was three weeks without it and it was a nightmare. The delivery of the part took forever and I didnt know what was causing the delay, especially with something so important like a refrigerator. When I was talking with the company that Viking recommended me to call, they said that we had to wait, that the delay was not on them, and that it was Viking that was taking forever to deliver the part. We also have an issue with the dishwasher. It’s not working properly because it’s not drying the dishes. But I haven’t called and made a complain about it because the repair took so long with the oven and the refrigerator. So our Viking experience hasn’t been good at all. It was frustrating and more than challenging. We thought we had the best appliances when we got Viking. But my husband and I were talking and we said that if we move, Viking would not be the brand we’re gonna choose.

The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

We had a Sub-Zero and then we decided to try a Viking. We wanted a freezer on the bottom rather than the side to side, and it’s stainless steel. However, we’ve had some problems with the freezer as it stopped working. Somebody came in and defrosted the drain line or whatever that gets clogged up with a hair dryer. We had to spend about $400 to $500 to get that fixed as it was out of the warranty. Also, Im not all that impressed with the set up for the authorized repair. We called customer service, and the repair people are coming again tomorrow. But it’s like I’m talking to somebody where I got a phone bank somewhere, and it’s not a local business. For one thing, we can’t find the stupid model number or the serial number. They’re underneath somewhere strange in the back of the freezer, and one can’t get down there to see it. Also, the other day, one of those bookcases with the sliding shelves on the door broke apart for no reason. I had to order from Viking a new one for a couple hundred dollars for half of one of those bookcase sliding units. It’s so stupid that I’m trying to get that plastic. This unit just broke apart for no reason, and then I’m trying to go find the model number and the serial number so that I could talk intelligently with Viking support, and I can’t get it. The only way I found it was to go back to the original invoice from ABW who were the people who get all the appliance for us when we were renovating the kitchen. Other than having these incidents, Viking is a good refrigerator and we like it.

We purchased out Viking refrigerator at Atlantic Appliances and should have listened to the salesperson who told us it was really an AMANA refrigerator with a VIKING label on the door. He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

I like the qualities that the Viking Range has as well as the look. I chose it since I wanted more of an industrial look in my kitchen and a product that was mostly made in America. But I had a little disappointment. When the range was installed, it wasnt installed appropriately. I think it was set to propane when my home is on natural gas. Beyond that, I had to have four service calls because the oven was not working properly. It would come to temperature and then it would just shut off. I questioned my judgment in choosing to pay a premium for that appliance and then I have to do so many service calls to figure out whats wrong with it. The servicemen checked the stove then talked to Viking. They decided it required a specific solution and put that solution in place. They went away and then the next time I used the oven, it was clear that it hadnt been fixed. They went through a process of elimination to figure out what the problem was but it took some time. The good news is that the range works beautifully now and I am pleased with it.

Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! I have had more repair people out to my house than I care to admit, because tempory fixes are still cheaper than a new one. My issue? Water leaking from under the refrigerator, it has been happening off and on since 2001. And today, 6/8/2018, there is so much water on the floor of my kitchen I had to leave the house today (for work) with a ton of towels on the ground and I am working to get someone to come out to my house (AGAIN) to try and fix it. My other concern is even attempting to try and find a fridge large enough to fit into the spot that the Viking fridge is in (if I attempted to replace it). Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

I built a new home about a year ago. I decided to stick my kitchen with what I thought was high quality appliances. I spent over $25000 on a Viking professional kitchen. Been having issues from day one. First, my 48 fridge freezes anything on the top self. After multiple service calls the tech admitted this was an unrepairable design defect. Today my fridge stopped cooling, nice for a $12k appliance. Also, the fridge door squeaks and is out of alignment just from ordinary use. Second, my oven broke the first time I used it. Took about a month to get it fixed, the first time. Couple of months later it broke again, took weeks to fix this time, same defect. Also, the oven has an annoying function that keeps a loud fan running in it to cool it down after each use, takes about 30 minutes each time. So imagine sitting in your open kitchen, serving a freshly baked dinner, then having to listen to something so loud that you feel you have to speak over it. Poor mechanical design and poor quality, wish I could return them.

We liked the functionality of the Viking Ranges, the induction on one side, gas and griddle. When I was getting my range, it was quick because it was on the floor and they wanted to get it out as soon as possible. So through TA Appliances, I got it within a week or so. Then I had an appliance guy who came in, installed a power cord, and put it in for me. We use our stove quite a bit and in terms of functionality, it’s very good. But I ran into one problem that is currently being looked into. The ignition of my backburner is not coming on and not lighting that well. I called the TA Appliance guy who I got the range from and he set things up so that I was called by whoever the service team is here close to me. They were okay but some better communication as to what the problem was in the process would have been appreciated. I had to call a few times to really understand what the holdup was on getting parts. They said that they couldnt get parts over right away, but that wasnt communicated well.Other than that, my Viking range is fantastic. There are two ovens and theres a small oven on the right side. It would have been nice to get a second rack in there since we often have multiple things in there because of the conduction. There are three positions you can put the racks in but I couldnt find one. Theres none on the website or anywhere you can buy one. Itd be nice to grab some of those kind of accessories. But I managed to get a bamboo cutting board cover for the griddle and that worked out nicely.

We bought a $9,000 refrigerator from Viking two years ago and we experience
We bought a $9,000 refrigerator from Viking two years ago and we experienced some problems with it during Labor Day weekend. The freezer would work but the refrigerator part wouldn’t get cold. It was frustrating because we called the repair service but they didn’t have any record of us. So, we had to fax them the bill of sale and they said it would take three or four days for us to get into their system which was unacceptable because we had no refrigerator.I called them on a Wednesday and they arranged for someone to come out. But they were tied up Thursday, Friday and the holiday, plus they didn’t work Saturday or Monday, so it was Tuesday when they came out. They looked around and found that there was a part that was supposed to be attached to a cooling conduit and it wasn’t. Apparently, they didn’t do it in the factory. So, their reps put a new part and left. Two days later, the refrigerator still wouldn’t get cold. I called the guy again and he came out a day later and found out that the fan in the refrigerator part wasn’t working. He replaced the fan but the refrigerator part still did not get cold. So, we had to call him the third time. This time, he discovered that the conduit in the freezer was freezing up. They ordered the parts and it was going to be four days more before it came in. We were out of a refrigerator for a month and it was inconvenient. Finally, he put heaters in the conduit which they probably should have done in the factory when they made the refrigerator. It’s working fine now but I’m a little concerned now to be having all these problems. Fortunately, it was under warranty. But if something happens in another year when the refrigerators out of warranty, its on me. Those parts that they were putting in were quite expensive. Viking should’ve anticipated some of these problems. When you manufacture a refrigerator that costs that much money, you expect it to be working fine. I have an old refrigerator in my pool house that’s 30 years but still working perfectly and I paid $150 for it several years ago.

I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

When I was reading the reviews, there was an oven from Viking that was great for baking and cooking. And since I’m a big baker, I decided to get one. I bought it from Best Buy and initially, I bought it with the floor model which came completely destroyed. I was so upset. This oven costs $6,000 and granted, I got the floor model so I got a discount but it doesn’t matter if it’s the original price. It was a little chaotic but they were very nice enough to swap it out for a brand new one. The manager was very forthcoming to exchange my oven and everything was fine. The quality is great. I’ve only had it for two months now and it seems durable. The only thing I get a little upset about is that I can’t have my oven and burner on at the same time. When the oven’s on, the fan starts and it starts cooling until it keeps the temperature. Then, the air from inside comes out from the back of the oven and blows towards the burner. So when I have the flame on, the flame is not steady and it’s like putting a flame in the wind. It’s like boiling all over the place. I also called the company when my broiler wasn’t turning on, and they sent someone. I asked if they sell anything that maybe blocks the wind and instead of coming straight towards the burners, they’d be going upward. But their rep said there isn’t anything. I thought it was simple and I don’t think I’m the first person that had that problem.

4 to 5 years ago we bought a Viking dishwasher to replace our other one because we couldnt stand the noise. This one was quiet at first and ran pretty good. After the first year it left the dishes wet and ran for four hours. But first we had to reset it five or six times to get it to even run. Today we are buying a Bosch. The Viking caught on fire today and lucky for us it threw the circuit breaker before it got out of hand. Never touching a Viking again.

This over/under built in refrigerator looked like a carbon copy of the Sub Zero we had, and loved, in our prior home. Looks can be deceiving. This refrigerator is really a portal to, well, you know where. Why travel to Alaskas famed Mendenhall Glacier to watch huge chunks of ice calve when you can recreate the experience on your hands and knees, blow-drying the freezer section of your Viking, chipping away ice chunks in the faint aurora borialis of the refrigerator light? Over, and over again. I would have to pull repair invoices but venture that weve spent $2,000 in service calls and repairs in the last 8 years: > Broken door shelf brackets > Door seal replacements (think middle of the night temperature warning beeper) > Main control board replacement> Multiple repair visits in attempts to address freezer defrost issuesThe freezer section has been a nightmare. Poor defroster system design leading to repeated, massive ice build-ups and melt-water dripping out of the door and ruining our hardwood floor. Incredibly disappointing for the cost, and perceived quality of this appliance. We highly recommend avoiding Viking.

We went through Pacific Sales at Best Buy and they were able to work with us and help us out. We got the range, microwave and dishwasher. We had to wait for five weeks to get the stuff. And when they came to install it, there was a problem with the microwave. There was a broken screw inside the microwave itself so the installers could not put the screw through to mount it onto the cabinet. We called Vikings and they told us that we have to wait another three weeks. And that they couldn’t order one until this unit was turned back in. Finally they were able to get one in a couple of days and they came out to install it. And the second microwave had the exact same problem. I confirmed that it’s not the same microwave to make sure that they didn’t turn around and bring the same one back. It was a totally different serial number, so two microwaves had the exact same broken screw. The installer just happened to have another microwave on their truck that was supposed to be delivered to some other lady’s house and it was too big for her house so she had to cancel the order. There was some issues about whether or not he could install it because he had to turn that one in and then it had to be reassigned. But I was able to call Best Buy and they worked around it and they were able to give him the okay to install that other microwave. So we finally got it installed. It wasn’t the original one that we had ordered, but it did not have a problem. It all got worked out. But it was a headache for us trying to get everything installed correctly. Best Buy was kind enough to give us a $250 check towards the headache that we had. They were very friendly and helpful. And so, at the end of the day, we were happy.

We bought a Viking fridge and separate freezer in 2006 when we remodeled our home because they replaced SubZero products and fit into the spaces perfectly. We assumed when you pay for top end products, you get top end products. Instead, we have become used to the freezer leaking onto the floor and a sheet of ice on the bottom shelf. Meanwhile, our fridge has begun acting up and is unable to regulate its temperature. We have been getting up in the middle of the night every night to turn off the alarm and have been dealing with frozen fruit and slushy milk. We called a repairman out who told us the door hinge needs replacing and the door doesnt shut properly, so a couple of sensors now also need replacing. We are facing a $1300 bill for that alone, and also have to pay an installer to come out and re-level the fridge. Because we have a malfunctioning fridge and are trying to operate in a family home, this is an urgent repair for us. Today we found out the parts are backordered and it will be up to six weeks before they arrive. How is a family supposed to manage for six weeks without a properly functioning fridge???We were also told the water lines to the freezer are frozen up and we need to turn the freezer off for two days and defrost it. What exactly we are supposed to do with a freezer full of food during this process seems to be our problem. We read some of these reviews while trying to troubleshoot our own issues and hoped we would not end up adding a review to this site, but sadly, you can add us to the list of disgruntled Viking owners who are wondering exactly what they paid for when they bought top of the line appliances and ended up with an unreliable money pit instead. I will think long and hard before spending another penny on Viking products again.

We purchased high end appliances for several years for the different homes and construction projects that we’ve had. And though we haven’t purchased a Viking product before, it was always under consideration. We have a Canadian log home and the people that built it had put those contractor grade appliances in, and we wanted to replace them with high end appliances. We decided to go with Viking Professional. This was the first time we’ve purchased a Viking and they had this thing where I could buy a refrigerator and get a dishwasher. However, if we had to do it over again, I don’t think we would purchase the Viking because its not as good a quality as the Thermador that we’ve had or the Sub-Zero.I’ve got a column Thermador refrigerator and freezer in our other home and the seal on it is phenomenal. If I shut it and I reopen it right away, I can hardly even open it. The seal is so good. I also have a Frigidaire and sometimes I have a hard time opening it too. The seal is so good as well. The seal on the Viking unit, on the other hand, is not that good. When I opened it today, there was condensation on the outside of it and I had to wipe it off. We didn’t even have our air conditioning on and it was only 77 degrees outside. I do like the lower freezer but for a high end unit, I find that a little disconcerting. I think I needed a service call. There is something wrong and this is brand new. It’s even noisier than my Thermador. My Viking unit is the built-in type but I haven’t gotten the cabinet built around it yet, so I was hoping the unit would be quieter once the cabinet is built. We bought a Viking Refrigerator, a Viking built-in oven, a Viking microwave and the dishwasher. And I already had to call about the dishwasher because the bottom rack broke. It’s noisy and the top doesn’t glide in and out very well. A Viking representative came out and he said that is pretty much the way the Viking dishwashers work. Every one of them, you have to push really hard to get that top rack in. But my Thermador is not like that, so I would not recommend Viking. I hate to say that because I was really excited about it. When I run my Thermador dishwasher, I never know it’s on. But when I run my Viking dishwasher, I can hear it running. We paid a lot of money for it and I’m not happy with it at all.

When I called them, they sent me an estimate for $1500. I asked them why $1500 estimate when they didnt run the diagnostics? They said that was the worst case scenario. A Viking range was in my home when we bought it. But that one was a demo in the store and when they installed it, they messed it up and burned up some of the wiring. I had trouble with it from the get-go, so it was replaced by Viking. Replacing it was a long, drawn-out process. But finally, after them trying to find the appropriate fix for the existing range, they said, “We’re done. We’re gonna replace it, no charge.” I like the new range and the grill is so pretty. The original one I had was so heavy. I’m a senior, and just picking up the grates was terrible. This new range I got is much easier to clean. They’ve broken it down, even the griddle and the parts that would have to be taken out, and cleaned are much lighter. They did a much better job on the newer models.

I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.

The lower oven would not turn off and the series of buttons on the control panel fell inside the housing. After 2 weeks of calling, they sent a repair service to diagnose the problem. The circuit board was melted from heat. They came back a few days later and said it was a bad design and would fail again. 1 day later it failed again. 3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. The first range, a 36 open burner and the range hood, have been fine for 12 years. Surviving a move to a new house even. The dishwasher purchased at the same time started badly staining glassware & silver after a couple years. Viking said it was crappy dishwasher soap (phosphates removed) but the Bosch at our ranch did fine. Limeaway removed the staining temporarily. Inspected the racks and found the plastic coating cracked exposing the carbon wire core which was rusting. Viking said theyd happily sell me new racks for $450. Compared it to a neighbors dishwashers, found it to be an Asko. Racks were less than half Vikings. Very Funny. 30 open burner gas stove at ranch would not light/stay lit. Viking said likely master propane regulator was bad (but fireplace & Rannai water heater worked fine). Third-party repair person specified by Viking found range regulator out of limit, requested replacement. A month later, no regulator after many calls. I built a water manometer, adjusted Viking regulator to spec, range worked fine. Then noticed when range top leveled, triangular gaps between range & counter face. Adjusting feet to plumb range sides with counter made range top 1/2 bubble off. Viking said floor not level (it was fine). Problem was range not square, back had been screwed on with sides not plumb. Called third party repair person, he said call somebody else. Viking hadnt paid him for diagnosing the regulator problem. Removed back, squared stove, replaced back (new screw holes required), problem solved. BBQ looked massively professional but cast-iron burners holes continually rusted shut, had to be reamed twice a year. Porcelainized sheet iron flame diffusers and grates didnt last two years (their new ones are stainless), found SS burners, diffusers & grates on the internet for 1/4 Vikings prices. Drip-drawer plastic (!), rollers melted immediately, replaced with SS. Moral: Great appearance, great brochures, celebrity endorsements (paid, most likely), a generous retail mark-up (probably) encourages dealer loyalty and dealer omission of known crappy quality control, crappy build details and total absence of warranty service discharge. Wouldnt buy anything Viking again...

Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. My husband and I purchased a BRAND NEW Viking VDOF730 professional series double wall ovens with the french door. It was installed on December 21st 2015. It worked beautifully for 10 days. The bottom oven stopped working on December 31st 2015. Turning the bottom broiler or convection on and the oven still doesnt get over 150F. When I finally got through to Viking customer service this morning after a 30 minute wait on hold, they authorized appliance service to come out and fix it on Wednesday, the day after we can no longer return the product. Let us hope that it keeps working afterwards.Updated on 03/10/2016: I first posted in the beginning of January 2016 regarding brand new french door stainless steel double wall ovens. It took several days for a serviceman to come out and verify that indeed the bottom ovens are not working. He ordered the replacement relay board and bottom element that day. Then the service department did not know when the replacement parts would ship. After almost a month of daily telephone calls to the customer service and to Pacific Sales, Viking finally agreed to replace the whole unit. The second unit was going to be sent to another city as there was an error on geography. Another two weeks pass. The replacement was damaged -- enamel cracked and scuffed off, oven webbing ripped, spiral machine marks on the racks and off-center doors. They were notified and we were told another new oven would be sent out. This time, 11 different signatures were on the inspection paperwork and it was installed. Then the installer damaged the doors. A different service is finally sent out -- without the french doors, or bottom hinges as the bottom oven is not closing properly. But it is okay to cook with -- so I am told.Within 2 days of it being installed, the ovens are running hot. You set it for 325 and it goes to 450. I am greatly annoyed. Yesterday, we are not notified that the service guy would be here to replace the inside of the french doors and the bottom oven hinges -- on a brand new oven. It was a fluke that he pulled up as I was coming home. He installed everything but still doesnt like the replacement hinges. I am giving it another try for a month; otherwise, goodbye Viking ovens. The gas cooktop appears to work fine although our downdraft pulls the flame out. I would NOT purchase their products again.

After three service calls, a fridge replacement and two additional service calls, six different times I’ve spent the day in the house waiting, we’re done. I started my degree in design and have always been very into design, form, function and how things look. I go through all the magazines and when I saw Viking the first time, I thought I wanted those in my home. One of the main reasons I loved the Viking is because it’s very simple, the lines are very sleek, and elegant. I went to an appliance dealer in Spokane, Washington and the salesman showed me all of the appliances. Wolf is a little intense for me. Six months later, we had to hone in on what we were gonna put in the house and so we went to that dealership in Bend, Oregon. I kept bringing Viking up and the rep kept taking me away from it. He said the brand doesnt update and doesnt have anything new and fancy with their machine. But thats why I want it. I don’t want anything fancy. There’s not even a clock on my stove. First I was kind of taken aback and I thought, “Oh, I have to use my own timer.” Now that I’ve used it, it’s what I love about it. There’s none of those pieces that often have problems down the road. The temperature is very true to the dial. I have a thermostat in there and when I put it on 350 and I wait 30 minutes, it’s at 350. The refrigerator doesn’t have the water feature that a lot of refrigerators have. When I open it up, it’s incredibly bright and it’s like the heavens open up. You just see everything. I’ve noticed that I can also keep vegetables or fruits in the compartment for a longer period of time than I’ve been able to in the past. It’s interesting how many people have come in to look at the house and they’ve all made comments on Viking. It just works so well and accentuates everything else that is in this kitchen.

Purchased Viking 48 wide by side in 2002. Compressor went out within 6 months, thankfully was under warranty. There was a door recall a few years later AND then another recall for those doors! The company that replaced the doors are familiar with Viking fridges and were able to to be somewhat helpful, suggesting we not place anything within 8 inches of any of the interior vents. We have NEVER been able to get the temp right. We have never been able to keep our fruits and veggies in the produce drawers as they become frozen. If we turn the temp down the milk goes bad, etc. Several of interior the plastic parts have broken under normal use: handle portion of ice maker drawer broke off in my hand, lid of bottom meat/produce drawer snapped off. Now the fridge lights have gone out (all simultaneously.) Try going to the Viking site to find a manual or worse yet parts. Everything there is SO difficult! They sent us a manual and I was able to download two, but none of them show the same control panel as what we have, since when there was a door recall, we received a new control panel as well... I feel sorry for the people that work for Viking. I will never purchase another Viking product. We purchased a high end Thermador range and KitchenAid Micro-Convection oven the same year and have had no problems with those appliances!

When we bought the house, we requested for Viking appliances. We wanted to get the big 42-inch refrigerator but our realtor failed to tell us at the last minute that they ordered a 36-inch model instead. But even though its not the model I liked, I love its quality. The aesthetics, as far as the door hinges, doesn’t get in my way. It was well-thought out and well-engineered. I also like the option that the temperature is different in certain compartments. However, I dont like the freezer part. As far as the stovetop, we had a choice in that. We got the eight-burner stove and it is phenomenal. It also has a conventional oven built in. All in all, I like Vikings appliances because I can buy a certain model and it has options that come along with it.

A friend of mine owned a Viking range and I thought that I just had to have it. I like to cook and Viking was a higher end range. And since I was building a house, I had to get it now because I won’t be able to get it later on. I went to Cowboy’s Kitchens in Ridgeland and everybody was very accommodating. When I had a problem with one of the ignitions on one of the burners that wouldn’t light, they sent a repair personnel who replaced a part. They were efficient and Ive been happy with everybody. I love mt range too and I want to get the griddle that goes in the middle. Were barely 60 days in and Im looking forward to experimenting with my range. Im still tinkering with it and have learned that it cooks much faster than other ranges so it is more efficient and saves time.

Have full Viking kitchen - dual-fuel range, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Difficulty in obtaining parts in Ireland, and would never, ever recommend Viking - anything - to anyone. All have had problems, but none more so, from day one, the range. Markers on dials rubbed off after months. Oven door has never fit flush and hinges squeaked/squealed whenever opened or closed. Often, could not open door parallel to floor. Finally replaced both door hinges - at astronomical customs charges for delivery from USA - only to find that self-clean function now not working. Self-clean circuit board described, variously, as no longer available to obsolete, do not have to maybe were getting new manufacturer but dont know how or when to sorry, no substitute recommended.Have begun shopping new/used parts, incl eBay, world-wide, spending hours of time without success. Have fabulously expensive oven that is filthy. In addition, weve had to replace 3 ignitors, our repairman discovered that instructions for wiring were actually reversed from positions described in manual (EU compromises?) and any part that costs US$100 direct from USA seemingly soars to more than 4 times that price once it reaches Ireland and our local recommended Viking supplier. Never, ever again. I so wish Id found this site earlier.

In the kitchen, we have very high-end fixtures so we wanted something that was comparable to the other pieces that we had chosen. Viking has a really good reputation for being high quality and the pieces are pleasing to look at. Weve been using it for a month and everything has been great. The stove works well. The only issue that we had that was disappointing was that the color is different because the dishwasher and the range are placed next to each other. Its very drastic, the difference in color. When I called to let them know about the color difference, the people that I spoke to were very kind. They sent someone out and that rep was very nice. He took pictures. It was a really nice experience. We, very quickly, got a phone call saying they were going to change it, which was a relief. I was worried that they were not going to exchange it and we were gonna be stuck with that drastic color difference. So, I was very happy that they decided to change.
