We have a DFBB536L Built in Viking refrigerator in our vacation home and it stopped working. It is about 8 years old. The unit no longer cools in the main compartment or freezer. The man that checked on our house said everything in the unit is spoiled. Not sure who to contact for warranty.

Our Viking sealed 6 burner cook top is about 8 or 9 years old. Five of the 6 burners are fine. One burner (front right of course) ignites, but keeps clicking the starter for all 6; after it ignites. Called Viking and then their genuine parts distributor for suggestions and parts. Bought a new sensor (with only comes with ring) for about $90.00 with shipping. Although they wanted me to buy a $50.00 tool to remove/install, I rigged my own special wrench to unscrew and screw in the ring/sensor. In short, the burner does the exact same thing it did before. A lot of time, effort and $90.00 wasted. As an FYI: when we did this kitchen, we also got a Viking built in side by side refrigerator. After 3 defective units in less than 6 months, they gave me my $$ back. All units were bad in multiple ways. Gotta give them credit as they really tried to satisfy my wife and me, but they just could not. I hope I have better luck with this professional style range top. To be continued....

I bought my home 2 1/2 yrs ago with a really beautiful kitchen. All appliances are Viking and the agent kept telling me they are the best products on the market. We have the two drawer pull out dishwashers. From the time we bought the house they do not clean anything properly. I have had technicians out various times, some telling us that cascade powder doesnt work and we must use gel capsules. Even if we wash the dishes thoroughly before they dont come out clean. I need them to work as they match everything in my kitchen. My viking microwave also doesnt work properly so I just use it to reheat. This house was remodelled around 5 yrs ago and from the time we moved in it was terrible. Who needs to clean dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher to find them still marked when you take them out. My daughter has the same crockery set and has a cheap dishwasher and hers come out spotless. Please someone help me as I need everything to match in my kitchen. Viking service are a waste of time and money. Thanks.

I purchased Viking range from a local appliance dealer and installed it a month ago. I pretty much knew what I wanted ‘cause I had used the website and based on our space, my husband and I figured out what we wanted. They also answered some questions we had. They have a beautiful stove ring and some of the pieces that we were thinking about were on display which helped to be able to open the doors and look in and see some of the new features. It was nice to have a showroom with actual appliances in it. The quality is good so far. One of my favorite is the indoor grill top. Ive used the oven and the cook top. The only thing I havent used is the grill. Overall, Im confident with the product and Vikings reputation.

Back in 2003 we remodeled our kitchen and put in Viking appliances and we have nothing but trouble with all. The only appliance that was not Viking was the microwave because at the time Viking did not make them. We have not had any trouble with the microwave except to replace a light bulb. The refrig has had to have 3 ice makers and the door needed 2 new sets on hinges and appears to wearing out again and there is concerns of the door falling off, the convertible meat savor drawer has had repairs done to drawer glides multiple times and still not working properly. Just in the last week the refrig evaporator and compressor went out and I have a quote to fix it for over $1500. The cooktop we have had to replace the stainless trim around the glass once and it is in need of replacing again. The oven clock, timer or the self-cleaning has not worked since the time we bought the appliance. The dishwasher has worked but the control panel on the inside of the door has cracked and it has holes on the panel from what appears to be dry rot. To replace all these appliances would cost well over $15000 this does not include the cost to have someone install. Furthermore the refrig, dishwasher have wood panels on them to match the rest of the kitchen cabinets and Im not sure whether these cabinets and the color can be recreated without costing thousands more. For a product that promotes itself as being a top of the line company I would have to rethink my branding.

So, after years of AGONY, we finally purchased a new built-in refrigerator!
So, after years of AGONY, we finally purchased a new built-in refrigerator! Yesterday, our VIKING 48 inch built-in refrigerator was hauled away, and a new KitchenAid built-in was installed. Its sooo cold inside! Our food hasnt been refrigerated this well for years!NOTE TO REALTORS: STOP telling people that Viking Kitchens are the best! You are doing everyone a big dis-service. What do you know about appliance quality? You only know that Viking looks good. Our Viking Fridge costs $9,999. Its beautiful on the outside, but for that amount of money, I also expect it to keep the food cold, and it cannot do that.NOTE TO CONSUMERS: If a realtor tries to sell you a house with an All-Viking Kitchen, tell her your offer to purchase the house is contingent on the sellers replacing all of the appliances with another brand! That should get the realtors attention.A Viking refrigerator is like a Ferrari car. It looks beautiful, and your neighbors will drool over it every time they visit. But only you and your mechanic know the sad truth: Your Viking Refrigerator and your Ferrari need major servicing every 6 months to keep them running. You have to keep a Sears Kenmore refrigerator in the garage so that when your Viking breaks, you dont lose $1000 of food. You have a Toyota Corolla in the garage so that every time your Ferrari breaks, you can still get to work.If you are independently wealthy, and you have a housekeeper who can be at home every time the Viking repairman comes to visit, then buy Viking. But if you must take time off from work to stay home and wait for the repairman, keep in mind you will miss 3-4 days of work per year.Summary: Viking Refrigerators are very expensive to buy ($9,999) and even more expensive to maintain. The first two years, while its still under warranty, youll say to yourself, Whew, Im glad it broke under warranty! and then the warranty ends and it keeps breaking and keeps breaking, and then you think, How did I get into this mess? Small repairs are $300-$500. Major repairs are $1500 to $2000.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

I was replacing an old unit which Ive had for 10 years with Viking refrigerator, the same unit. The old one had a problem with the door hinge so it was recalled. The new Viking is excellent. All Viking appliances provided by the builder when house was purchased new in 2010. Have already had the dishwasher serviced 4 times, had to replace the interior racks, and finally had to remove it and purchase a different one. Now the refrigerator is acting up - service company selected by Choice Home Warranty has been out here 4 times (so far), replaced thermostat, sensor, ice maker, gasket. I have completely defrosted the unit 3 times since September. I am still getting frost in the lower part of the unit. In my consumer opinion, a $10K refrigerator should last more than 7 years. I have a smaller $300 Home Depot HotPoint refrigerator that has been running non-stop (except for 2 interstate moves) and I have NEVER had a problem with it. Seems to me the more expensive one should last longer. Save yourself the headaches and DO NOT get Viking branded dishwashers or refrigerators. And it is difficult to find authorized repair people.

I bought a new home and Viking came with it. I like that the appliance cooks well. To be honest though, I haven’t had the best experiences. We’ve had to have some repairs for every appliance since I’ve lived here in one year of owning brand-new products. So I’m not exceptionally thrilled. I have a fridge, a stovetop and a microwave. There was some build-up of ice in the freezer. The most aggravating part is that I sit and wait for installers all day long. Then, they do it over and over and over, so it doesn’t sit very well. I had three times they had to come out for the freezer and the stovetop. Twice they had to come out for the microwave. But at this moment, everything is working fine.

I was online looking for a dual-range stove, dual-fuel, and I came across Viking. I know people have them and are very happy with them so I went with them too. The quality was great and I love it. The biggest thing that sold me on the Viking was the burners, just being able to turn them on without having to program anything. That was one of the big features. And I have cats, so they walk on top of the stove. Most stove controls are on top but the quality of the Viking, the BTUs, the way it cooks and everything, it’s great and I really enjoy it. It has been a great experience.

The Viking refrigerator came with my newly built home three months ago, but its upsetting that the ice maker doesnt work and it has never worked since day one. The technician came out to see what the problem was and they supposedly ordered a new ice maker. But its a brand new appliance and I would like Viking to fix it.

Viking Refrigeration is supposedly one of the best brands in the market and my wife likes them better than the others. I’m a hundred percent satisfied with the quality. We had issues that I didn’t expect because of the price of my refrigerator but I’m not gonna say it’s a bad or terrible refrigerator and they replaced it so I cannot complain at this point, although this is mostly what I feel should not happen. Our Viking refrigerator is huge and the freezer is on the left side while the refrigerator is on the right. My wife, three adult daughters, and I are very careful at home and don’t beat up our kitchen appliances. But the drawers are breaking apart and the shelves and door shelves were disintegrating which is really weird and that I would not expect from a refrigerator with a price tag that Viking has. I assume they crack with the cold. I was very surprised and I really expected a little bit more. So I called the warranty and they sent me new ones.I had an issue with a microwave that Viking ended up fixing, though I wasn’t happy at all with the first company that came. Then I had another issue with a cooktop and the company that came to do the repair was very good. When I buy appliances with a price tag of Viking, I expect their life to be longer. The problems we had are not terrible and would not keep me from buying Viking again in the future, but I was disappointed that I had much more issues with the microwave and cooktop, that I did not expect with luxurious appliances such as Viking.

The Viking range is a quality product but we had a very rough start with it
The Viking range is a quality product but we had a very rough start with it. We got a $10,000 range and its not a cheap item by any chance. But the handle on the small oven door was not mounted properly. It was crooked. And then, the igniter on both ovens didnt work properly. One oven didnt work at all. It would get hot once and then, wouldnt, and would turn off. And the other oven would click, click, click a whole bunch of times every time it went on an on-off cycle. So were not too thrilled. They should do a better job inspecting and testing the product and shouldnt be delivering defective items. In the Vikings website, their request for help is broken. I went in the customer support area and requested help. It triggered an automated email that told me that they were going to look into my question and respond soon. I also got a second email that was an error, that said some other email was undeliverable. And then, I never heard back. So Im guessing that the email was my request going to some support on the Viking side and for some reason, it didnt go through. It was a fiasco. When I told the vendor who sold us the oven of the problem, they were quick to respond. They gave me the name of the local repair guy who provides support for Viking. They were scheduled to come within a couple of days but they didnt come, call or follow up. So a week later, I called them and they sent somebody but didnt fix it. They ordered a part, and two weeks later, theyve never called us back. So I had to call them back. I escalated and they sent somebody who was sharp. He had to adjust the igniter. It wasnt sparking close enough to the burner so the burner wasnt lighting up.To make the long story short, the salesperson at the store should have called us and followed up to make sure our problem got fixed but never did. They did not even check that the range was delivered. Then the repair people dropped the ball and never followed up with us. So it took us almost a month from when it was delivered to when we were able to use the oven. Other than that, everything is working fine. We love the Viking range. Its a very nice stove and the cooktop is great. Its nice to work with and hopefully will last a long time. Were happy with it but their support system is pretty badly broken.

This pertains to Viking microwave RDMOR200SST over the range unit. Purchased 12/12/13, installed 12/26/13, broken 1/18/14, lasted less than a month. Being in the HVAC field, Im very familiar with many brands, reputable and not so reputable. I recently read a tech article about Vikings new owner (CEO) and it seemed very promising. Boy was I wrong and he has a quality control/customer service nightmare on his hands. I have dealt with many companies in the field and this is without a doubt the worst. $650.00 microwave and the micro switches I found in this unit I would not have used in my daughters $5 toy. Youre probably saying, Why did you fix this yourself, you voided the warranty. Have you ever seen some of these morons they call appliance repairmen? Believe me, I have and I wouldnt trust 95% of them. Problem - wife shut the door and the micro circuit tripped, reset, breaker held but the micro was dead. Dissembled (only takes 2 minutes) and noticed 4 micro switches mounted on a cheap plastic rack, one of the switches the plunger was stuck in the down position. Upon inspection, the contact of the switch was welded together. These switches are rated at 16 amps, there is absolutely no way this switch holds 16 amps, no way. This is a fire hazard and a design defect. I removed all four switches and replaced with Ormon micro switches and NO THEY ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA , they are made in Japan. If I would have had warranty service tech perform this, they would have used the same cheap factory switches and the problem would have been reoccurring and caused more damage to the unit. For all of you do-it-yourselfers out there, change all of these switches out with quality ones. This will solve the majority of your issues with this unit.

We got everything Viking here in the house. My in-laws have them and they like them. The double oven’s unbeatable. The quality of the fridge is really good. The tolerances on everything are good. Its solid. I close the door and I feel its not cheap. However, the compressor went out and I was shocked Viking couldnt give me a new compressor for the Viking. I had to get a replacement refrigerator, which I got a little bit of a discount but at the same time, I shouldnt have to buy a brand new Viking after it wasnt that long. Im not too happy and I found out its a Panasonic condenser unit that goes into the Vikings. I like to think weve got years and years of dependability behind it, but when I hear it’s a Panasonic condenser unit, thats not too reassuring.

As a very dissatisfied and disappointed Viking customer, I would never recommend the product to anyone. I have often said to anyone who listens that our Viking kitchen appliances was the worst purchase we ever made. We have had more repairmen here to work on the highly touted Viking appliances in the last 6 years than in our entire 40-year history of home/appliance ownership. It is a joke. We are currently waiting for the Viking repairman once again to come fix the refrigerator to hopefully stop the leaking that is damaging our hardwood floor. If I was independently wealthy, I would throw them all away; but Im not. We made what we thought was a wise investment that would last us through retirement. Im sure we will end up replacing all at some point when Ive lost all my patience. If I do a Pinterest, it would be labeled Stay away from Viking far, far away. There are much better, more reliable, less expensive products. Viking beauty is only skin deep.

We were told that Viking was the second best among appliance companies. We couldnt afford the best, which would be Wolf. Wolf wouldve been probably double the cost. Viking had good reviews and their products look good. We went to Trail Appliances, the distributor, and the salesperson showed the Viking products to us. We liked the products and bought several appliances in the same make, including a gas stove, convection oven, and dishwasher.Trail Appliances tested the refrigerator before they left. There was a problem with it, so they didnt install it. They replaced it immediately. It was really good that they tested it. Other dealers just put the appliance in, then you find out that it doesnt work. So far, the Viking refrigerator that we got is really good, and Im happy with it. We like its looks. Everybodys complimented me on it. It works better than my previous refrigerator. I like the excellent ice maker. Well need that in the summer. We renovated our entire kitchen through P.C. Richards and we purchased Viking through them for our cooking range and I like the look of it. I was supposed to contact them because of two things. One is I was very disappointed aftermarket that I couldnt get a grill pan. We have a lot of company in our summer house and we cook a lot of eggs and bacon. I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.

We bought top of the line Viking Refrigerator & all other Viking kitchen appliances about 6 years ago from Airport Appliances with 10 year extended warranty for additional $2K Associated Service Corp. Then, the water line busted & flooded/damaged our house which we had to file insurance claim. Now, it stopped working & was blowing hot air. We contacted Jags Appliance Repair 510-494-9574 who charged us $135 service call & said that compressor, serpentine, heat exchanger, evaporator needs new which will costs another $1700 for repairs (parts covered), not to mention the spoiled food. I called Airport Appliances 510-783-3494 that they cant do anything & that we should contact Associated Service Warranty that we purchased from them for $2K. I called Associated Service Corp Warranty 800-325-4363. They said they only cover up to $160 only, but the service agreement states otherwise that labor is included... We purchased an entire suite of professional-grade Viking kitchen appliances. My wife is a very good cook, so she wanted a gas range with Viking as a name, and we thought the refrigeration would be good too. However, I just had somebody come in to repair my refrigerator cause its a defect. The drain was not designed properly, so it would basically freeze up or clog up at the end of the day and then back up. And then, I ended up with ice below my freezer tray. It would melt on the door below the freezer door and then get my floor wet. As a result, I have cupping on my wood floor. So, not only did I pay the repair company that just recently came over $170-$200, which I havent even been reimbursed yet for, but I also have damaged floor.I havent had Viking contact me regarding that yet, and that was something I was expecting a call on. I reached out to them first, and they informed me that if it was a sealed component, it would be covered under warranty but if it wasnt, it wouldnt be. I ordered a part for the snap tray from a repair company, and I asked about the refrigerator and its leaking characteristics. They mentioned that there was a fix for it, and Viking knows about it. A notice was sent out and apparently, Viking has amnesia with that. They dont know of any notice. Theres no recall, yet its clearly a defective product.

Ive been holding off giving this review because I was hoping our problem with Viking is going to be resolved sooner than what we are experiencing. We have now occupied our home for almost 2 years and the warranty on these appliances will soon expire. Our builder installed the 7 series built in side by side refrigerator and freezer into our newly built home. The fridge started acting up 3 months into closing. It started with it not cooling, then the water dispenser not working. The freezer also quit working. Viking kept sending their contract maintenance and he kept ordering parts and installing them with the appliances still not working. There are so many dents inside this fridge it doesnt even look brand new anymore. Its preposterous for a supposedly a high end appliance in a brand new home over $500K. Ive had better appliances supposedly from lower end brands that performed way better than these Viking freezer and fridge. Finally this month, they replaced the refrigerator after having us go through unsafe food storage because the appliances werent working properly for months. Now the replacement fridge is convoluted with the freezer. The top part of the fridge is sticking out and the lower end of the fridge is pushed further than the freezer. Both appliances arent aligned properly. Its disgusting how a home of this value would have appliances installed so poorly. The installers even admitted that Viking should have replaced both appliances because the freezer is an older model. After the installers left, the freezer quit making ice again. We called Viking and of course, they will once again send the maintenance person who had been trying to fix these issues. DO NOT get a Viking fridge and freezer! Its absolutely disgusting how the customer service dealt with this problem without resolution until now. They should have replaced these appliances right away. I could purchase a pre-owned vehicle of the same price that would run better than these appliances.

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. They stand by their product. I will be a Viking owner for life.

Of the three Viking appliances I recently purchased, I love the range and dishwasher, however this is a 1-star review and that is due to the refrigerator having been nothing but problems. Viking sent a 3rd party repair person to correct the issue. Due to my location (apparently) it took the repair company 2 weeks to get out here, 5 weeks to order parts and another week to return. I live an hour outside of Pittsburgh and an hour from Cleveland, so the location really shouldnt be a problem. However, I waited 2 months to get the refrigerator fixed (it freezes our food - even when set to 37 degrees). The problem still persists. I called Viking Customer Care again today, and expressed my frustration not only with the quality of the product, but also the time it took (2 months) to get the repair parts installed and that didnt even fix the issue. I think Viking refrigerators are generally great, but I got a defective unit. And rather than send me a replacement unit (since weve already gone down the repair path). Viking is sending another repair technician to my home. The customer care representative, asked for my serial number. After providing it, she indicated that it wasnt valid - which she confirmed later on in our conversation that it was indeed correct. I also had to repeat my address several times. When she would look up a service option, and return to the screen she told me my address was gone. My appliances are all registered on Vikings website, why the customer care representative wasnt able to pull my information from that or from my previous support case seems counter-intuitive. For a supposed higher quality appliance, Im disappointed I wasnt provided higher quality of service. And I have to wonder how many times Ill be doing this until my refrigerator works as advertised, or until I give up and get rid of the unit. I NEVER had this issue with my Sub-Zero!

Ive spent almost $1500 repairing a $2300 Viking oven, and its broken again. The last repairman said he thought the previous repairman (Bobby Dollar Appliance) crossed several wires and that it might not be repairable. Ive tried to contact Viking about selling me another oven at a wholesale price, but they are ignoring my emails. I will only buy Viking again if they sell me one at wholesale.

I bought a house that had Viking appliances and one of them was a range. Its quality is great and I like the size. Plus, the burners are easily adjustable and I can find the exact heat I need. The appliances are good but they need to have more knowledgeable repair people and a more formal contact procedure in Canada. Ive had experience with other larger companies where you call a head office and they provide you with your repair. And it was not the experience I had with Viking. I had to find my own and I found an excellent repairman, but it took a long time for me to find him.

Our Viking range came with my new kitchen. It is a beautiful piece of architecture, and I love its high quality. I like the dual nature of it. Its an electric range gas top. I love how it looks and feels. We had a service call on it, though. Periodically and almost in a random way, the settings for the oven were not matching what it was doing. So we’d put it on bake at 425 and it would bake at 200 or something. And every once in while, it would switch into the cleaning mode and lock itself up and get really hot even though it was set on bake or whatever. It was totally weird. It locked us out once, and it didn’t cook while we had food in it.

When I walked into the showroom, I saw this Viking refrigerator and I liked the look of it. Viking has a good name too. When I made the purchase, the reps I dealt with were good and helpful. Ive had my Viking refrigerator for about three weeks now and I like it overall. However, there are some things I have some issues with. The refrigerator is so-called commercial and the compressors are a little louder than I would have expected. Also, the ice bin is trash. There are major problems with it. For one, there is a lower side in the back so when the ice fills up and you pull the ice bin out, the ice falls into the track. When you try to close it, the ice gets crushed in there and you have a hard time closing it. The ice bin also leaks so it freezes over the wires that are underneath the ice bin. At some point, that is probably gonna be an issue. Another issue is the toe kick although its not a big deal. They just didnt put it on yet and I cant figure out how to do it. On the other hand, I like the pizza box holder at the bottom. And although I didnt like these at first, I now like the automatic closing doors, as well as all the meat and vegetable compartments. It is also very bright inside the refrigerator. I like the lights.

One of the selling points of the home we just bought was that it had Viking appliances, and weve had nothing but trouble from them. Ive been calling since the beginning of December. I was told that the earliest appointment anyone could come to see our freezer was January 18th, but no one has called to confirm that with me. Someone is supposed to be coming. We keep kosher as part of our dietary restrictions and our meat is rather expensive. Weve had to throw out hundreds of dollars of meat because every night, my freezer stops being cold and goes up to 7,8,9, 10 degrees above freezing so it all thaws. Every morning, I have to put on max freeze. I would much prefer to have my GE stuff at my old house any day of the week. Also, their customer service has been terrible and its a bad product overall.

We bought a $9,000 refrigerator from Viking two years ago and we experienced some problems with it during Labor Day weekend. The freezer would work but the refrigerator part wouldn’t get cold. It was frustrating because we called the repair service but they didn’t have any record of us. So, we had to fax them the bill of sale and they said it would take three or four days for us to get into their system which was unacceptable because we had no refrigerator.I called them on a Wednesday and they arranged for someone to come out. But they were tied up Thursday, Friday and the holiday, plus they didn’t work Saturday or Monday, so it was Tuesday when they came out. They looked around and found that there was a part that was supposed to be attached to a cooling conduit and it wasn’t. Apparently, they didn’t do it in the factory. So, their reps put a new part and left. Two days later, the refrigerator still wouldn’t get cold. I called the guy again and he came out a day later and found out that the fan in the refrigerator part wasn’t working. He replaced the fan but the refrigerator part still did not get cold. So, we had to call him the third time. This time, he discovered that the conduit in the freezer was freezing up. They ordered the parts and it was going to be four days more before it came in. We were out of a refrigerator for a month and it was inconvenient. Finally, he put heaters in the conduit which they probably should have done in the factory when they made the refrigerator. It’s working fine now but I’m a little concerned now to be having all these problems. Fortunately, it was under warranty. But if something happens in another year when the refrigerators out of warranty, its on me. Those parts that they were putting in were quite expensive. Viking should’ve anticipated some of these problems. When you manufacture a refrigerator that costs that much money, you expect it to be working fine. I have an old refrigerator in my pool house that’s 30 years but still working perfectly and I paid $150 for it several years ago.

Viking was already the brand we had in the kitchen. The refrigerator broke, so I replaced it with the same brand. I bought it through a third-party seller and the experience was poor. The product was delivered with a manufacturer defect. The doors had to be zip-tied up because the installation is difficult if the doors are moving about. After it was installed, my husband and I realized the doors dont close. What upset me about the third-party vendor was that they said that its our problem, not theirs, and left. But Viking immediately stepped in and sent help with their repair people around town. I have had to use them on two or three occasions once again, all from the defect of original product delivery. No issues that went wrong. They have been incredibly responsive. Its a brand that stands by its quality. On the other hand, they did let a fridge that doesnt have doors that close past inspection somehow, so thats also strange. But when they realized they messed up, they fixed it. The refrigerator is not the right size and its a loud machine, but it does the job and has lots of storage.

Viking ranges are known and they are aesthetically better than their competitors. I had to reach out to them to confirm and they responded to me saying that the delivery is gonna be delayed by a week but it wasnt a big deal. We got the professional series and its quality is good. One igniter wasnt working well and we called up the company and they sent someone quickly. The service was good and it was covered under warranty. The burners themselves leave stains so it’s weird given the price point of the range. If something goes on it and I dont wipe it immediately, which when I’m cooking Im not gonna wipe it immediately, it leaves a stain. They need to improve the quality on all the burner caps. The gold burners are beautiful though, the heating is great and it cooks up really well. Our experience with the Viking range has been good so far.

Weve gone into an upper-end appliance dealer in our area and looked at a couple of different brands but in the end, we decided on Viking. I also had a fairly large Viking grill with the side burners at my prior home and I liked the construction of that. I liked the style which was pretty simple and clean. But I have a problem with my refrigerator and its being serviced currently. Its a little disconcerting having an issue within six months of getting it installed but well see how the repair goes. It is covered under warranty though and customer service is great. Theyre very quick to get me tied into the local authorized dealer in the area and getting that scheduled. Also, Ive ordered some accessories off of their website and I still have one pending now for about three months. There are things that we are led to believe are available but they tend to be on backorder and take many months to finally get.

My family moved into a new home with nice-looking Viking appliances in the kitchen. We only experienced minor malfunction of the refrigerator in the 1st year. After 14 months, or about 7 weeks ago, the range knob that controls the range fan motor stopped working, and I contacted Viking warranty service a week later. A local authorized repair shop was quickly assigned the job and they determined they have to replace the knob, and they need to order it through Viking for that, in order to comply with Viking warranty policy. And I was told to wait about 3-4 days.A week later, I called the repair shop only to find out the knob is on back order, and I need to wait 2 more weeks. And 2 weeks later, it was still not invoiced through Viking parts, and now 6 weeks later, the range is still not repaired!!! And the shop has no idea/no control over when the part will come in. They also told me in one case, a customer had to wait a year and 2 months for some parts to come in! It had been very frustrating not having a working range in the kitchen! It is even more so to think Viking warranty service is so lousy and unreliable! I am so disappointed how long I have to wait (so far) for warranty service for a common appliance! If I have to pick new appliances, I will not pick Viking.

Viking has a really good reputation for being high quality and the pieces are pleasing to look at. Weve been using it for a month and everything has been great. The stove works well. The only issue that we had that was disappointing was that the color is different because the dishwasher and the range are placed next to each other. Its very drastic, the difference in color. When I called to let them know about the color difference, the people that I spoke to were very kind. They sent someone out and that rep was very nice. He took pictures. It was a really nice experience. We, very quickly, got a phone call saying they were going to change it, which was a relief. This refrigerator is a disaster! The ice maker has broken repeatedly since Ive owned it. Repair calls and bills for that and it still doesnt work. The plastic handles on the bins are all broken. When you pull on them to open the drawers, they break. And the worse thing? It leaks. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my bamboo floor. After having this repaired, I see that the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water every few days. This is a refrigerator, not a high tech device. The engineering should be mundane. Ive had other refrigerators from GE that are far less expensive that never needed servicing. Nothing with this refrig works and I dont understand how this company could release it for sale, not have a recall, not replace them, not offer money back. The product is totally defective.I see that many others on this site have experienced the same problem. I am considering instituting a class action lawsuit. If you are interested, please let me know. I wanted to share a review of my Viking range because it was such a big investment. We purchased a gas sealed burner VGSC5304BBS range back in the fall of 2011. My wife loves to cook and she thought a Viking would last forever. She patiently waited over 10 years to buy her dream stove. Weve had nothing but problems with both the broiler and the bottom burners. Both burners have required constant repairs and the broiler still wont light on the convection setting. Weve had to replace the bottom oven pan because it had a broken weld and we replaced the convection fan cover because it was rubbing the fan.The stove looks nice and it definitely gives the impression of quality but its reliability is horrible. I filed a claim with the BBB but Viking refused to help me. Save your money and buy a different brand... any other brand. Also, it has been recalled twice for safety problems. Terrible investment at over $6k.

I know of Viking Ranges as being a good brand. I like the combination of its style and size and its durability and simplicity. I didn’t want something with a lot of electric controls and my range seemed like their basic gas, almost commercial style gas. It has a big oven with a big range top and I like its clean lines, stainless steel finish that it looks like a professional range, commercial style oven. I bought it through PC Richards and their reps were good. They were incredibly knowledgeable. However, I’m a little disappointed because the oven broke about four months ago. The hinges on the door just stopped closing the door completely, I had no idea why. Also, I cannot turn the flame down low enough. There’s a lot of BTUs. They’ve now referred my range to their service department and it has taken awhile to order pieces. It has been a very long process and it is still waiting for a repair. I can still use the range though. Overall, my experience was generally very, very positive.

We looked at all the competitors and the reviews and comments from users. The look of the unit was especially important. Then I have another house that I had a Viking oven in, and there was a failure of the lining there, and Viking replaced the oven. I was very impressed with their customer service that although a little slow, they stood behind their product. We got a six-burner and were getting used to a gas oven. Its pretty easy to clean compared to other models, which is a big plus. Were enjoying it and it works well.

We purchased our Viking DF Range in August of 2003. Our first problem surfaced during installation by Sun appliance in St Joseph, MI. The installer noticed that the surface grill grates were not manufactured level and would not set lever over the burners. They had to be reordered three times before we received one that lay flush. My thought was that a range costing almost $7,000.00 had such poor quality control that it left the factory with parts that were poorly manufactured. After several months of use, we noticed that the little rubber feet that fit on the bottom of the burner grates were falling out. I attempted to glue them but with no long term success. Out of frustration, I called Viking and was told I had to purchase a brand new grate at a cost of $35.00 plus shipping because they could not sell me this little piece of rubber worth no more than a $1.00. I finally found some on the internet in a Viking parts bag for $14.95 for 16 pieces. My opinion of Viking and my $7,000 range began to slip. A few years later the broiler element, PJ010002, went out at a cost of $299.00, including labor. Now, I am really getting upset. I had my choice of several other brands but chose Viking because of its perceived quality. The next surprise was in June of 2011 when the oven relay, part no. PM010129 burnt up filling the kitchen with a stinky smell. We had that part replace at a cost of $126.10. Now its only six months later and the same part burnt up again. I again called the Viking repair people at All Pro Appliance Service and was told the $35.00 part was covered under warranty but I would have to pay an $89.00 service call to have it repaired. I am very concerned now because I have a feeling its not a defective part but a problem with the stove. In searching this site and others, I have found several other Viking owners who have had the same oven relay problem. In summary, this is the worst appliance I have ever owned and would not recommend it to anyone. Shame on you Viking for such poor customer service and quality control!

Purchased this 36 gas range in 2006 for over $6k. A week before Christmas, it broke down. Several parts were replaced by a reputable, local repair firm, but the key one is PJ030015, the 6 prong selector switch was not available. Called Viking and was told it has been discontinued since 2016. The customer service person kept telling me that sales had specials going on so I should contact them. Asked her if she would replace a $6k range because a $100 part wasnt available. This is totally unacceptable. The company should have an solution for this other than check eBay and Craigslist. For Petes sake, go to China and get some built. So, buyer beware. A good company would not do this for a product that is not that old nor inexpensive.

Viking was the affordable choice and a better choice than some Maytag. Its got a quality name to it. Its the rep. However, there was a problem with the shipping of our Viking Refrigerator, and we had to get another one. The first one got replaced. Even the second one, the freezer door is a little loose. I didnt wanna deal constantly having to send it back. The handle was loose, so I tried adjusting the handle. It doesnt adjust anymore. But, its good. It works. We got it from Best Buy. They were nice enough to accommodate switching out the first one. They wouldve switched out the second one cause I wasnt happy with the freezer door being crooked and the handle being loose. The handle is still loose. We were able to fix the crookedness a little bit, but at that point, we needed a fridge. Our old fridge had crapped out, so I didnt have time. They werent gonna bring it till the next day. So, thats my only gripe. The product is not 100%. I wouldnt recommend this Viking Refrigerator ‘cause its a hassle.

We were doing a remodel and we wanted something a little higher end. We bought our Viking refrigerator at Best Buy as we had a significant number of credit card reward points and we went with the Best Buy cards. We bought it before our remodel and we didn’t take it out of the storage until around early spring in 2018. We had significant problems with it over the summer and we had the technician out at least seven times. It was still under warranty at the time and what was happening was the refrigerator side of it would never be at the set point. Oftentimes, it was at 45. The tech was out to try different things and replace the electrical panels. By the last time, they ended up replacing the entire electrical panel and it has been okay since then. It still is not perfect though, and it seems to be hit or miss. If the set point is supposed to be at 38, it struggles to get a 38 on the refrigerator side. I like the refrigerator, nevertheless. It is prominent and it sits really well in our kitchen. At the same time, we were forced with the contractor company because they are the ones who handle the warranty. As long as it is under warranty, we have to go with them. We would wait for a significant period of time for the parts to come in and it got to be a really long, laborious process. The guy with the refrigeration company would complain that there were changes going on at Viking, where the warehouses were, and it was hard to get parts. It was frustrating when we had already invested on a Viking refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and range. I couldn’t just call Viking and say, “Look, replace this thing,” because we had to go with a particular company to do the repair. This issue started in May or early June and we were still dealing with it by the end of July. On one hand, there are things about the Viking refrigerator that I really like. I like the way it looks in my kitchen, and the freezer is working fine. On the other hand, the refrigerator and the whole repair and problem-solving process seem really cumbersome. Why did it take three months to resolve? I am dissatisfied with that.

The range has had several issue since being installed. 3 of the grates were warped, 2 have been replaced and one is still on back order. The LED lights above the knobs stopped working after one day and now the fan is making a banging noise when I use convection. When the repairman came to look at that the LED lights he noticed some pieces were missing inside the knob assembly, which are also on backorder. Just poor quality for a $6000 appliance. I had a bit of a challenge with the customer service. I bought the range online and when it was delivered, they dropped the dishwasher that came with the range off the back of the truck. It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. As for the range itself, I appreciate how quickly the eyes on the top get hot. It took some getting used to not having an indicator that the oven was preheated. But one of the hinges was messed up and it looks like its gonna mess up again. Im not satisfied with that.

I was looking at the features, design, haptic feedback, meaning how things slide, the soft close of the drawers, and layout. One of the things that I didnt consider was Viking because Viking and Thermador are usually premium, luxury, and mansion-type brands, until seeing at that price point-wise. They make for the regular persons reasonably-priced refrigerators. We didnt need a water dispenser in the front or ice sensor and they were one of the few manufacturers that didnt have that. I just dont like the gasket sealant. Im getting some frost where the gasket is peeling off the door. I havent had the opportunity to call Viking yet to ask them if they can fix it.

I had a lot of trouble with my Viking range. When I turned the convection, it was so loud that I would never use it. But Ive not had a convection option before, so I didnt know that what I had wasn’t how it should be. And because it was way too hot, I called to have it calibrated, and the man who came out was outstanding. He tested the temperature, turned on the convection and said, That shouldnt sound like that. So he took it off and ordered the part. But the first time they ordered it, the wrong part came in. They called me that day and told me that he had checked it and it wasnt the right part, then they ordered the new one and they were wonderful. After it was fixed, I baked a cake and I loved it.We also bought another non-Viking appliance from Specialty Appliance in Colorado, where we bought our Viking range, and that had trouble, too. First we tried to have it fixed ourselves, and then I remembered that the salesman of Specialty Appliance had said, If anything is wrong, call us. So, I called them and they jumped all over getting somebody here and getting it fixed. And as for my range I love how it looks and how easy it is to take the grids off the top and clean it. I also love the gas cooktop with the electric oven. Im very happy with Viking.

Thus far, Ive had time to play with my Viking Range. With my oven, there is an option to use either standard baking or convection. The Viking range was so pretty. I got one thats jet black with rose gold accent. Its one of my fancy splurges for the kitchen. My house was being renovated and the designer did all of the ordering. The installation of the range was easy. They had a nice team come in and set everything up and level it. The range works really well. I like the fact that youre not actually sitting the pot on the burner. Youre sitting it on the little metal thing above the burner. Its set up pretty high from the burner. Theres an indentation in the burner so the flame is set down in the indentation, which means that it keeps you further away from the flame. You have to work very hard to burn yourself. Thats a really nice safety feature. The range also works quickly. There are lots of options on how to set the temperature. I like the fact that the knobs light up when a particular burner is being used because its also easy to know if a burner is on. If the pilot light didnt light, you dont have to worry about gas flowing because the light is on will tell you which burner is active.

We bought our house about 5 years ago and it came with Viking appliances which we were excited about. The fridge worked great for a few years but about 2 years ago it started leaking water all over the floor. Huge pools of water would collect in the bottom of the freezer and freeze over, which prohibited us from closing the freezer door all the way. We had an authorized repairman come twice and they told us it was probably a clogged drain line. We got really tired of stepping into huge piles of water on our floor every few weeks and starting to damage our hardwood floors. After the 2nd repairman visit told us it probably wasnt going to get better we finally just got a new Kenmore fridge last week. Now we have an old Viking fridge sitting in our hall and Im wondering if we try to sell it on Craigslist at a deep discount as its a bit of a lemon. We also havent loved our dishwasher as even though we clean the drain at the bottom, it still starts to smell between washings. The oven and range work great, though!

This appliance is made by Bosch for Viking so dont go running to them thinking youre going to get an upgrade. Just terrible. The fridge? It leaks, its complicated and makes strange noises. Oh and the shelves just randomly break and are very expensive to fix. Customer service? They have none. I’ve worked in restaurants for a very long time and I came to know about Viking Ranges. I decided to buy one from PC Richards since for a home oven, I wanted something that has more fire and a more professional look. I like it a lot. It’s a very good quality and high-powered oven and I like that the internal temperature is more accurate than most home ovens. I had some issues with the oven turning on and the pilots, but I had it serviced within a few months of buying it. I also had a problem with the little rubber stoppers on the underside of the grates that go over the burners. Those fall off all the time and it’s a hassle because I’m worried about the grate scratching the oven underneath when I take them off to clean and put them back on. But those little rubber things gone missing is probably the biggest issue I’ve had, which is good.

Its unbelievable to me that a brand that cultivates a premium quality image, and commands (demands?) top prices from consumers, designs and builds such a shabby product. FIRST ISSUE: over the past couple of years, two plastic refrigerator door shelves developed cracks, and shattered like glass without warning, dropping the shelf contents all over my floor. These were not overloaded shelves. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING ISSUE: CHOOSE A PLASTIC THAT DOES NOT GET BRITTLE IN COLD TEMPERATURES.Incredibly, each time this has happened, Viking Parts Department charged me nearly $200 per replacement shelf (Really? For the price of this refrigerator you wont replace a defective part as a courtesy?); so far Ive spent $400 on replacement shelves and I have another shelf that now is developing new cracks so I guess Ill be paying another $200 for that replacement shelf soon. Or maybe I should just not use door shelves?? SECOND ISSUE: no matter how I set the refrigerator thermostat, the vent located above the top refrigerator shelf outputs freezing temperatures. So while my refrigerator thermostat is set currently to 43 degrees, anything located on the upper left refrigerator shelf (water pitcher, juice, milk, etc.) freezes solid. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING ISSUE.Ive experienced a lifetime of different refrigerator brands, from basic Frigidaire, GE to Subzero, all have worked as intended. Certainly never had to replace plastic shelves for my cheapo Frigidaire, and nothing freezes on the top shelf of that refrigerator. So I guess you got an additional $400 from me in replacement parts (soon to be another $200), but Ill never buy a Viking-branded appliance again (dont get me started on the Viking range issues Ive experienced).

We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

Following a friends recommendation, I got a Viking range and its beautiful. I got the black one and not only does it work well, but it’s nice-looking. The quality is really good too. I love cooking with it, although there are things that it can do that I havent utilized yet because I’ve only had it hooked up for about four months. Also, when I first got it, the broiler was broken. They just fixed that about a month ago. Its an amazing broiler, it goes over the whole top of the oven. It took a long time for them to come out to get it fixed because I live in a rural area. There was some problem with me getting the paperwork, but it didn’t have to do with Viking. I bought it through AJ Madison, and their company was the one that I was having trouble with obtaining the paperwork so that I could get the product registered, and then I could get it serviced for free under the warranty. The person who handled it did a good job, and it works now.Apart from the broiler, which I love that, I also love that on a standard stove that I’m used to, it has the smaller center burners, and these can all go to the boiling. And then they have one that’s huge, so it really gets your water boiling quickly. It also has a dehydrator built into it, which is amazing. It bakes well, too. I’ve had good experience with everything. I would buy one again for sure.

All I can say is that I wish I had read these other reviews before buying our very disappointing Viking D3 Electric Range!!! It hasnt cooked right since the day we got it. Being on a special medical diet, I need to have all 3 of my meals cooked along with what I need to cook for my family. So, needless to say, my range gets a good work out. Thought I was buying a high end brand to fit my needs. Unfortunately, the oven does not cook to the proper temperature & takes forever to cook anything. 1 1/2 hours to cook thin chicken cutlets, almost 2 hours to bake a blueberry loaf that ended up being still uncooked in the middle & all the blueberries sunk to the bottom. The best was some birthday cupcakes I baked on the convect cycle which got over cooked on the outside & not done on the inside & actually exploded part of the tops off. Im going to try & include a photo if I can. All I can tell people who are looking to buy a range, DONT BUY VIKING!!!!! I wish I never bought one.

It took them a while to figure out what was going on with that but they were very good about getting right back to us and servicing that. And it is under warranty. I have been very happy with Viking. The downside of the Professional range that I have, is that there’s not a small burner and they’re all the same size. But other than that, I have not have any problems with them until just recently, when one of my ovens ran out. I looked online for a repairman and I was not happy with the first repairman that I saw. He came into my home, looked at my range and he called me back about a week later, and said that it was going to cost $1,700 for a new control panel, and two workers to repair it. That’s not right.I did some research. I found another repairman that was Viking approved and it costed me just under 600 to repair my oven. There was a recall on it as well, so they did that. They took care of that in addition to fixing my oven. Probably, the biggest downside is that it’s hard to find good and honest repairmen for Viking products. But I have no complaints from my products. It’s a quality product. I’ve got an electric wall oven that I use constantly and gracefully. Thank God that it’s performing well. And I’ve used my products all the time. They all look pretty in my home.

Both our built-in freezer and refrigerator were purchased brand new with extended warranties. Freezer constantly breaks down and the technician cannot fix it right away and they have to keep coming back to change parts and still it take 3 to 4 weeks sometimes to fix it. That is why I purchased a spare Kenmore freezer used for $200.00 and it works better than my $5000.00 dollars Viking freezer, it does not break down. The refrigerator is falling apart. All the drawers are all broken or cracked from change in temperature and the warranty does not cover bad quality products. When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the installers, they damaged the handlebars and two of them had scratches. They hit the door entry area, too, so they damaged that as well and my contractor had to fix it for us. The two refrigerators were also not installed the way I wanted them to be installed and the doors were not in line with each other, so they were a bit off. Theres also a half an ounce of leak periodically occurring on the wine cooler side. The installers set the refrigerators in and put in the backing for them to be stabilized. They leveled it a bit and locked it into that 2x4 in the back. Then they left without installing the trim kit so my carpenter had to figure out how to put it in. The trim kit was for the refrigerator but we ended up installing it on the wine cooler side since that didn’t have a trim kit. Ben, from the Odmus Company, told me that I was supposed to use the trim kits for both sides, the refrigerator and the wine cooler, to make them look right and uniform. He said he would install them for me so I should get them. So I ordered another trim kit for the refrigerator but later, he said that there was supposed to be another kit for the refrigerator as well. This was never brought to my attention until months after I purchased the items, so I’m disappointed about that. I paid $1,000 for the installation and trim kits thinking that the installers would finish the job and do it correctly, but it wasn’t done so. I reported it to Viking and to the store manager, but I never received any calls from BestBuy about this issue. It’s been five months since I bought the refrigerators. BestBuy held on to them for me until I was ready for the installation, then they were installed in my house two months ago.I talked to someone from BestBuy last month and told them about my problems with the installation process. They got the original installer back to help me and they’re going to replace the handles, straighten out the doors for me and install the trim. But most of the work has been done already, so I dont see why I have to pay for the installation when the installers didn’t install anything. They just delivered the items and set them up. Other than that, I love the Viking refrigerator and the cooler, except for the leakage. They’re great refrigerators and I would recommend them to others. Since the installation process is the most difficult job, people have to make sure that Viking would do everything that they’re supposed to do and that they complete the job.

We had a lot of small hiccups because of COVID and because of the supply chain issues. Initially, we purchased our Viking stove through Best Buy. But it kept getting pushed out and I wanted to get our kitchen up and running. So, I ended up finding a floor model out of Stockton, that had the piece in stock. It had some scratches on it but they were very minor and they guaranteed a six-month warranty. They delivered it and got it in service. The Viking is simple to use and theres not a lot of electronics on it which is nice compared to Thermador and other high-end brands. I went with the one with an open range and even though its rated at 15,000 BTUs, its probably more because its open. Youre getting the airflow better, so its actually heating it up better. So far, I love it. Its easy to start. The one thing I dislike is if you take off any of the igniters to clean, they get a little bit on the porcelain and I have to readjust them in order for the igniters to ignite sometime. The other issue Ive had is that it has to kick on numerous times to get the igniter to ignite. So, every once in a while, itd have a little gas smell. I talked with the retailer that I bought it from about it, and they were gonna fix that. But my father-in-law whos familiar with Viking stove, he’s like, “Yeah. I’ll show you. It’s just this.” We ended up just moving the igniter a little bit. And then it took off, and no questions asked. Also, Im not sure if the convection part is working properly because it makes a little rattle from time to time. Otherwise, the Viking has been reliable.

I liked the way the Viking range looked. I bought one from Pacific Sales and the lady there that I worked with was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. I went back several times to look before I actually made a decision because I was also looking at Wolf and one other brand. Still, she was very helpful and not high pressure. I like my Viking range very well. Its very sturdy and I like the way the range top works. The oven bakes and roasts very evenly, too. The stove that I had was terrible and compared to that, I love the burners of my Viking range. They boil water for pasta real quickly and I can simmer things nicely. I recommend it to anybody whos looking for a new stove.
