Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. Then the oven that we chose worked for a month and stopped working, too. We had technicians coming back and forth with new parts for three times, but it never worked. And it took a while, from February until October, until Viking decided to give us a new one. We have a new oven now and its working. The refrigerator is also working now, so Im happy. But I was three weeks without it and it was a nightmare. The delivery of the part took forever and I didnt know what was causing the delay, especially with something so important like a refrigerator. When I was talking with the company that Viking recommended me to call, they said that we had to wait, that the delay was not on them, and that it was Viking that was taking forever to deliver the part. We also have an issue with the dishwasher. It’s not working properly because it’s not drying the dishes. But I haven’t called and made a complain about it because the repair took so long with the oven and the refrigerator. So our Viking experience hasn’t been good at all. It was frustrating and more than challenging. We thought we had the best appliances when we got Viking. But my husband and I were talking and we said that if we move, Viking would not be the brand we’re gonna choose.

I bought a Viking range because of the way its made and its performance. It’s the second one that I bought. I sold my other home and the new buyers wanted that range. There was nothing else on the market I would look at. I would buy it again. There isnt anything I dislike about the range. It does a beautiful job. The design is beautiful too. I love the style and what it does. Everything is great on the stove. I wish I had a proofing feature though because I bake a lot.

Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

We were in the market for something above the ordinary so we went and looked at a Viking range at some of the appliance stores and it certainly was. It was really what we wanted. The dealers did everything we could have expected and more. My neighbors came into the house and said, “Ooh.” Everybody’s in awe of it because they’re expensive. But it’s a beautiful appliance. My favorite feature of the range is the convection-cook part. I bake in that so much more even than a convection oven. All the burners are nice and even the burner liner on them. I recommend this appliance. I would do it again and wouldn’t look anywhere else because I love it.

There was no problem getting someone out here to work on it. They came out really quick. Also, whenever I had an issue with it, I went online and I was helped out and pointed in the right direction very quickly.

We initially looked at different models and ended up getting a better deal with Viking. Everything we bought came in with the package, which was nice. The dealer tried to work with us to get the best deal. The conventional oven in the gas top works great as well as the broiler, but unfortunately, the convection part of the oven doesnt work so weve had to put in a service call for it. Its a little disappointing since its brand new and thats an issue. Additionally, since that supplier is out of state, we took a couple of days to find out who could supply the Viking range. I had to call them back and then they gave me the name of the supplier, then the supplier took a day or two just to have them call me back. Luckily it was close to the area that we were, but the rep was getting calls from people from New York and other states so not too many people service them. Overall my Viking range looks great and I had great interactions with the people, but theyre lacking in servicing.

My wife likes cooking so we wanted to buy a professional-level range. We got one from Viking Range and it has an oven and convection and it heated up very fast to the temperature that I set up when broiling. But when I tried to do baking and set up the temperature to 300 it never heated up to 300. I thought there were some ignition issues so I tried for a couple of times and sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn’t. I planned on trying more times to see exactly what the issues were. I also called them before to tell them what the issues were and they said they couldn’t help unless I register my product so I did. And when I called them back I waited for around five minutes but they were busy and I couldn’t get an answer so I just hung up and stopped trying. The call didn’t go to voicemail as well but they were nice during the conversation with them. Overall, it was good. My wife cooks all the time using it and I notice that the power is really strong. We have six burners and the heat is very consistent and in general I like it a lot.

Less than a year ago, when we needed a new refrigerator, we were talked into buying a new Viking (as opposed to a Sub Zero that served us so well after many years). Worked fine for the first 8 months or so but 3 weeks ago we realized that our freezer temperature (and then the refrigerator itself) was going up. It got up to almost 70 degrees. We quickly put in a call to dealer who sold and installed our refrigerator. They could not get to us for 3 days because of the Memorial Day week-end. We took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator and took them downstairs to a little portable unit. The service tech called us back the next day and told us to turn off the refrigerator/freezer and leave the doors open for 24 hours. The unit started working the next day so we put everything back in it. The service tech came and told us to keep things away from the vents and that would probably do it. Refrigerator/freezer worked for another 5 days and then it bombed out again. Once again we removed everything and brought it to the small unit downstairs. Once again, it took 3 days to get the service tech back. He put in new control boards and said everything was fine. And again, with great optimism, we moved everything back into the unit.Last night, while making dinner, the upper vent in the refrigerator started making a loud noise. I immediately grabbed my phone and took a video. The freezer temp was already at 16 degrees and going up. Guess what we did? We again moved everything out! We called the service tech right away and sent him the video. He will be here in 3 days. Obviously we are extremely discouraged about this $10,000 unit. And I am extremely tired of running to the little unit downstairs everytime I need something. Give us back our Sub-Zero!!!

I purchased this induction range ~4 years ago and have already had to make several very expensive repairs. I purchased Viking because I thought I would be getting a high-quality appliance and didnt expect to have to make ~$1000 in repairs in such a new appliance. The range is stainless, heavy-built, and more commercial than residential. I got it through a local distributor but it was damaged upon arrival. The stainless trim below the oven door was dented and it took about two months to finally get the part out of them. I was disappointed in the support I got from them. There was follow up, but then we had to get back to them after not hearing them for a month. They kept on ordering the wrong parts. But other than that, Vikings quality is pretty decent.

I saw Viking in other peoples home and Ive heard about it before. I liked the look or their design. My builder bought the Viking refrigerator when I moved to the new construction five years ago. The refrigerator part is okay. I like the shelving and the refrigerator is very spacious. The look of the refrigerator looks great and looks very modern. Functional-wise, its a big refrigerator and it has a lot of space, but other than that, its just a refrigerator. Also, I had an issue with the freezer recently. It has a drain pipe to a pan underneath it to drain water. The pipe got blocked and there was icing there. I had the repair service to repair it. I learned from the service guy that I need to do maintenance every year to move the refrigerator out and then its back to prevent any blockage. I had a bit of interaction with the vendor and their service was okay, although it will be helpful if the appliance dealer could have a stronger service department.I have about everything from Viking. I also have a dishwasher, microwave, range, and the hood above the range, but the dishwasher has many problems. It has been serviced by the technician three or four times already. When I had the dishwasher problem, I called the service company and it took seven to 10 days for them to show up. Sometimes I had to wait for a long time for them to show up. I may not want to buy Viking at all because although I had good experience with the refrigerator and everything else, if one has a problem, I may have to buy another different set. I need to have matching appliances. Viking has to take care of everything including the one that I have a bad experience with, the dishwasher.

I am in the midst of a kitchen remodel. When searching for a range, Viking was definitely the brand at the top of my list. We were in Best Buy one afternoon for something unrelated. I went over to the range section of the store to browse, not knowing that Best Buy even carried Viking. As I walked through the aisles I noticed a white Viking Range. It was beautiful and fit my kitchen design perfectly. When we asked about the range, we were told it was returned by the customer, it didnt fit their design. So we purchased it immediately out of box. Last week, my contractors brought it into our home and installed it. Right away, we realized it was not working properly. We were told when we bought it, there was a two year warranty. I made a call to customer support. They patched me through to a technician who thought the issue was air in the gas line. We ran the range several times, following his instructions, and it still did not work. I called back to customer support and was told I had to register first and that takes 24 hours. I registered the range and called back the next day. I was then told the product was registered to someone else. The rep said he had to do some investigation and called me back. Turns out my warranty is expired because the customer who returned the range registered it and this had occurred two years prior. That was their final answer and they did nothing to rectify my issue. So, now I sit here with a Viking range that does not work in my brand new kitchen. While we are pursuing Best Buy to resolve our issue, I feel that the help I receive with my issue was unacceptable, given the price and reputation of the product. I will never look at another Viking product.Updated on 07/05/2018: We bought an “out of box” Viking range from Best Buy. We were told there was a 2 yr warranty - that was Best Buy’s error. When installed, the range did not work. After calling Viking Customer Service 4 times, I gave up. No one called me back. I called a Viking certified repair place and paid to have them come out. It was going to cost $1700 to fix my NEW range. AND, the technician recommended I return it as it looked like it had been taken apart. I did as he recommended and bought a different brand. I will NEVER buy Viking again.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. The stove would not heat up consistently as many others have noted and I finally called Viking for advice. Apparently, the warranty period had changed from 3 years to 1 year so I was on my own. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly. Its now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. Its hit or miss whether youll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. Dont waste your money on this overpriced defective product.

Our Viking Refrigerator came with the house and was chosen by the builder. So far, the quality has been okay but we had some issues. First, the handle on the fridge-side door broke. I called the customer service and they sent someone over to check. They ended up ordering a new part. It was covered under the warranty and everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Second, the freezer is making a noise. Last week, we had noticed this noise for four days. Then over the weekend, the noise disappeared. I have an appointment today with the Viking’s service guy to come and fix the issue.

After multiple service calls to repair/replaced the igniters on our Viking Professional Range, we now keep a fire starter on the range top to ignite the burners. Two local service companies will not warranty either the Viking igniters or their repair/replacement because igniter parts are consistently defective if they are even available from Viking Parts. Viking Ranges will not return our calls. Nice range with chronically defective parts that are impossible to repair/replace. After more than $1,700 in igniter repair/replacement, dont expect to light my stove without a fire stick. Remember, most Viking sales people are painfully aware of the problem but totally avoid the issue before you purchase the range.

About 6 years ago, we completely remodeled our mix and match kitchen to all Viking products. We had a range (6 burners), hood, dishwasher, built-in fridge, microwave and warming drawer. We have recently moved and want to update our new kitchen with Viking as well. Im researching product to see the reviews on their newer models. I really am shocked at all the negative comments. I just thought with all the negativity out there, I would jump in to say I have really enjoyed my beautiful kitchen for 6 years. I am very anxious to outfit my new home with Viking! Our family and friends spend a lot of time in the kitchen and it has yet to let me down.

Weve had our Viking refrigerator for eighteen years. In that time weve had three service calls and one recall. Now the unit needs a complete new cooling system costing thousands of dollars. Realizing that the unit was way out of warranty, I called customer service anyway to see if they would a least share part of the repair cost with me. They were adamant that they would not. When I purchased the unit I fully expected that it would outlast the less expensive brands. An independent repairman suggested that it would be worthwhile to forego repair and buy another refrigerator, not a Viking as he considers them as expensive junk. I guess cost does not equal quality.

Also, I like the quality and everything. The only issue that we had was, when it arrived, the knobs were in the wrong spots. But they got fixed quickly. We purchased our Viking 48 built in in 2005 and during the next two years, had (11) service calls to either fix the ice maker or the temperature control module. The ice maker never functioned properly and we finally replaced it at a cost of over $550. Their service rep. actually argued and yelled at my wife on the phone because the item was out of warranty. How in the hell can any company stand for that type of customer relations and expect people like us to recommend their products?? But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are some companies that still know the business of good customer relations and that is Wolf / Sub Zero. Point in fact, my double oven control unit went out. We called the Wolf service center and asked them if there was anything they could do for us to minimize the cost of replacing the module at $760.00. They immediately said that they would waive the cost of the parts but we would have to pay a service fee of $125. DONE DEAL. By the way, the unit was ten years old. I tell this story to everyone who will listen, perhaps Viking will, someday. To be fair, I did find out that there was a recall on the refrigerator door pins that could break and the door could fall off. I was in contact with that company twice and they said, “Can you send us pictures of it so we know what our repairman is looking at?” And I did, but it’s been close to two weeks and I haven’t heard back from them. Nonetheless, Im very happy with the range. I like how the burners are raised, so it makes it easier to clean. It’s expensive, but if you’re going to really indulge in cooking and you want longevity, then it’s worth it.

We like the design of the refrigerator. The range hood and the dishwasher were also included in the package which we liked. The quality is very good except that our range needed to have the boiler burner replaced through warranty which took probably three months. The technicians did everything they could. They just were waiting for the part.

I must manually defrost a several thousand dollar machine every few months or the repair will cost $1100. Not happening. The refrigerator will only cool to 43 degrees Fahrenheit. I would replace it in less than 3 seconds but I paid to have it built in with cabinetry on the front which cost a ton. BUT there is almost no one to repair it. I am seriously thinking about trashing this one. Very disappointing. Since I bought it 12/31/2003 it has been repaired several times. I think I have spent enough repairing a BAD machine. Viking couldnt even get the cabinetry specs correct on the website. It has been a nightmare from day one. Model # DFBB363L Serial # G0000000582.

My family moved into a new home with nice-looking Viking appliances in the kitchen. We only experienced minor malfunction of the refrigerator in the 1st year. After 14 months, or about 7 weeks ago, the range knob that controls the range fan motor stopped working, and I contacted Viking warranty service a week later. A local authorized repair shop was quickly assigned the job and they determined they have to replace the knob, and they need to order it through Viking for that, in order to comply with Viking warranty policy. And I was told to wait about 3-4 days.A week later, I called the repair shop only to find out the knob is on back order, and I need to wait 2 more weeks. And 2 weeks later, it was still not invoiced through Viking parts, and now 6 weeks later, the range is still not repaired!!! And the shop has no idea/no control over when the part will come in. They also told me in one case, a customer had to wait a year and 2 months for some parts to come in! It had been very frustrating not having a working range in the kitchen! It is even more so to think Viking warranty service is so lousy and unreliable! I am so disappointed how long I have to wait (so far) for warranty service for a common appliance! If I have to pick new appliances, I will not pick Viking.

I have had my Viking Range since last September and I have had technicians out here eight times and my 36 inch range is still leaking gas, they can’t figure it out, so if you want a range that works, don’t choose Viking! I spent $500 to have Thanksgiving delivered to my home, and Christmas wasn’t any better.... What holiday will I NOT be cooking for next. I’d like to say it looks good, but the front of it already has some rust spots/pitting marks right in front of the burners! I was trying to decide between Wolf or Viking; I work with high-end kitchens a lot in my business, clearly I chose badly. Don’t make the same mistake! And seriously never use Appliances Connection; they are awful, rude customer service and no follow-up, not a customer centric company!

Totally disappointed with their service. We are retired. My husband is Vietnam veteran suffering exposure to Agent Orange so the oven is an integral part of our meal preparations. We had a service technician evaluate the problem which was faulty oven door hinges. We asked Viking service could they give us any assistance in covering some of the cost of the hinges or possibly the installation cost. We were told, No. That it is not our policy and we were on our own. As good as this stove has been, I would never buy another Viking product again. I caution anyone considering purchasing their products.

I like the aesthetics of the Viking Range and the way it fits in the kitchen. It’s also decent quality. There are higher-end ones but I’m not one that’s gonna spend that kind of money, and even this is overkill. But this would be a better choice. Also, at the time that we bought it, there was a rebate on the range with the hood so that also persuaded us a bit.

We built and had a bunch of work done, and we bought five Viking Ranges. Everything was shipped good and there was no damage to anything when we brought them in. The quality of the ranges is great. We’ve got three floors and we’ve got two kitchens on each floor, so they pretty much do what a normal household would. We do breakfast, lunch and dinner inside of our kitchens. Right now, we’re having issue with a burner and we’ve already put in a service call for it so we’re waiting for them to come out and look at it. Other than that, everything that we’ve dealt with so far has been great and customer service has been good. We’ve had them since we started the renovation a little over a year ago. They get used and abused, and they’re holding up great.

We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.

Within two years the lettering that identifies the temperature settings on both wall oven and cooktop had worn off. Now, the only way to know what temperature youre cooking on is by looking at the manual for reference. We spoke with Viking and they said this is not covered under any warranty because its cosmetic. One of the selling points of the house for my wife and I was that it had Viking appliances in it. Viking has an excellent reputation and it would be my choice. They look so beautiful and they work so well, so were very happy with them. We like the quality too, however, were having a problem with one of the burners. Weve sent in the registration paperwork and took the numbers right off of the appliances. We have to go through our building contractor since its under the one-year house warranty. They are supposed to be contacting Viking to set up an appointment for them to come out and look at the Viking cooktop and see what the problem is. Another issue we encountered was with the registration. We were told everything is verified except for either the microwave or the stove. Other than that we always recommend Viking.

When we did a complete remodel of our kitchen in 2018 we purchased Viking range top, downdraft vent & dual wall ovens. Viking had a promotion going where they threw in the dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped working in late January 2019, about 8 months after installation. We called the Viking authorized appliance repair company. They sent a service tech out 8 days later. He informed us the dishwasher had a bad water pump and circuit board. Told us it would take a week or two to get replacement parts. Never heard back so after two weeks I called the service center and was informed the parts would be in late March which means were out of a dishwasher for over 2 months.I am a general contractor with over 40 years in the business and have never experienced a dishwasher failure. I guess that is why Viking is giving them away! I may go ahead and purchase a Miele and throw this Viking unit out. I dont know how Viking can justify two month wait times for parts. Im really happy that it wasnt the cooktop or oven with a problem but now wondering if we do have an issue with either of those how long will it take to get parts.

Our fridge was on its way out. Plus, we had a space issue and we wanted to find a fridge that would fit in it without having to cut our cabinets. The size was the biggest factor. We tried Viking Refrigerators just to try something different. It was also because we’ve heard good things about the brand and with the way it looked. We bought it online through some appliance website and they were okay. However, the installers were poor and didn’t put the ice machine in right, so it didn’t work. But that has nothing to do with Viking. The refrigerator has a freezer at the bottom which I like as it gives me more room at the top. It’s easier to organize my food because there’s a lot of refrigeration space. I like that both doors open. I also like how its working out. It’s easier just for me. It has a lot of flexibility. The ref is not built-in, but it looks built-in. It fits perfectly with the way we have our cabinets. So far, the refrigerator is of good quality. It is a nice product. It keeps even temperature. Its pricey but I like the way it looks and everyone in my family likes it.

The refrigerator (DFRB304L) was leaving a puddle on the floor in front. The repairman was clueless. Luckily, my son is an engineer and he took all the shelves out and took the inside back off in order to find the poorly engineered problem and caulk it. His repair worked. Also, the clear parts of the drawers all cracked. This is obviously a quality control problem, but when I contacted them, their response was that the refrigerator was out of warranty. Perhaps like many others that purchase Viking appliances, my wife and I were enamored with the design, size and look of the Viking refrigerator. We spent close to $20,000 and purchased a 36 refrigerator with a separate 30 freezer to go beside it. Looking at our kitchen you see nearly five feet of fridge/freezer. It looks amazing. Stupidly, this was the reason we bought the brand. My neighbor has a similar set-up and he told us over and over again not to invest in Viking. He swore it would be a mistake. My attitude was it wont happen to us. Was I wrong.Within one year, back in 2018 (pre-Covid; so no excuses yet about shipping issues/health issues/work shortage issues), the refrigerator stopped working altogether. Everything inside was ruined. The refrigerator was hot. It would not cool anything. I called Viking and it took 3 days to get a repairman to our home. Three days of no food. Then of course the part had to ordered. This took another 2 weeks. The part arrived and within another week it was installed. One month of no working refrigerator. I asked for a loaner... nope. I asked for a replacement... nope. I asked for a food stipend... nope. I asked to reimbursed for the ruined food... nope. After the month delay, it was noted that the refrigerator was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. This took another month for the new refrigerator to arrive. A $12,500 refrigerator that we could not use for two months. Now check this out; within a month or two of the new refrigerator being installed, my 7 year old son opened the fridge to get something. He pulled the door and as he pulled his foot was in the way and the door punctured his foot. He required 7 stitches. Our family wrote it off as the craziest accident ever. But... within another month or so, the door was not closing properly. This was a brand new refrigerator and the door would not close right. The magnet would not catch and the door was essentially always open. Viking sent a repair guy. He could not figure it out. He kept stating that the hinges were unlike anything he had seen. Then it dawned on him, the door was installed upside down. He had to take it off, flip hinges and reinstall. What??? Upside down? How is that possible? I then realized that this is probably the reason why my son punctured his foot. It was too low.Six months after replacing the refrigerator, the freezer stopped working. Everything melted. The compressor (?) was shot and it was replaced. For the continuing hassle, Viking extended our warranty an additional year. We now had 3 years of warranty. Within the three years, we have had to replace the ice-maker at least 5 times. Every 4 months it develops a leak and water drips into the ice bucket. Soon the ice bucket has an inch or so of water at the bottom and the entire ice bucket turns in to a solid block of ice. They send a repair guy and he replaces it. This has happened five times. It is broken again now. Unfortunately we are now out of warranty. I argue that the problem began while we were under warranty. This apparently does not matter. Viking wants to charge me $150 for the part and $150 to install it. Again a $7,500 freezer with an ice-maker that does not work. Dumb.Today, the produce tray in the refrigerator broke. Looks like a plastic piece fell off and the side by side drawers came off. This overpriced appliance is an absolute joke. Like my neighbor did with me, I tell all people that compliment our gorgeous appliances to NEVER buy the Viking brand. I warn everybody that I cannot to make the same mistake we did. Viking sucks.

We were replacing our old Thermador and I assumed Viking was a fairly good product. I like the look of them but I’m a little disappointed. It is not very good and I would tell others to rethink their decision to buy one. My oven has been installed for two months and I have had repairmen here for the last two months as well. Hinges on the oven were bent. They finally came and fixed that. But they had to get the feet for the oven because they didn’t have them when they installed the oven. Now, I’m having a problem with my burners. It has taken me two visits and they’re still not fixed. And every time they come out, there is a time period in between of two weeks. Then the repairman was telling me today that it is going to take probably another two weeks. When he came out previously, he seemed to have been of the forethought that what he was being told was not gonna fix it. And yet, he was still told to come out here and do it. So he came out here and did he was told but it still didn’t work. Now, they have to order all new burners. Its just ongoing after two months. It’s been a roundabout, circular motion here with this whole thing. I was very angry to begin with but now, I don’t even know anymore. It’s two months and $10,000, and I haven’t really even used the oven. Viking also needs to be more responsive. Initially, they kept calling to ask if everything was good and I kept saying no. It was great that they called but then it wavered and petered out. Viking has dropped off as far as calling to see if anything has been done and now, it’s me dealing with the repair people.

The refrigerator is four years old and one evaporator in the unit leaked so it froze the whole bottom of the refrigerator. Viking covered the part, which I appreciated. But, I had to pay for the labor. I have heard that that had been an issue with some of their units, but they have also improved their warranty since I purchased. So I was thinking, if the parts had not been covered, I probably would have bought another one --and I would have gone with another Viking-- because I am looking at 3,000 versus maybe 7,000. Right now, I have a year on the parts. The appliance repair people I dealt with were pleasant and courteous. They made sure whether or not there was a warranty on the parts. They were timely to come out, they came back out quickly, and did the job that I thought was an excellent repair. When I pulled on the one bottom drawer, because I did not realize the bottom was frozen at that time, I broke the handle. So, they ordered a replacement part for me, which I picked up yesterday. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product. Its performance is great as far as what it is supposed to do. I like the built-in look with the wood panel of the refrigerator and I like the fact that it keeps the vegetables fresher the way the airflow is versus a standard one.

We have had Viking Ranges since they pretty much came out. We are on our third Viking Range. When we remodeled our house, my husband wanted to get me something high quality because I’m a baker and I cook a lot. So we’ve researched and thats what came up. I like the way the Viking Range looks. We also renovate houses since the 80s and we always put a Viking Range in there. We flip higher end houses and people wanted Viking look or Wolf. We bought one Wolf and I hated the Wolf. I was like, Forget it. I don’t have to buy another Wolf. Weve bought plenty of Viking Ranges. The first one I had was a gas range and I loved it. And then we traded that for a dual fuel electric oven which I hated. The oven was much smaller and I couldnt fit all my baking pans. I couldnt even fit a turkey in it. I was really disappointed in that. It also started arching, spitting and shooting flames out the vent and the top. Wed called Viking to find out if there was any root cause. And they said not that they are aware of. So we ended up going through our insurance company in getting a new one. I got the Dual Fuel Viking Range. Its the four-burner. They did change the oven so its much bigger. Ive baked four cakes already with it and its only been a month. I wish they would have had one on the floor so I could have looked at it. But most people arent caring them because theyre so expensive. The people that I talked to at Viking have been very nice. But I wish we could have gotten more information about the other one that had started the fire. They didnt seem very interested and we still have that oven. They werent also going to take the oven so we figured we just hang on to it and see. Were thinking of making an outside kitchen and just tearing the oven apart and turning it into an outside stove. They also have people who came to hook a Viking Range up but hooked up the electric cord wrong. So then we didnt have an oven for a week cause it wouldnt work. Somebody came to fix it. They replaced the cord and took it right one on and that works great.

Viking Range was fined for ranges that turn on by themselves (article dated 4/17/17) for 15 models sold between 2007 & 2014. We have a Viking Range that was purchased in 2017 when our home was under construction. 11/9/19 the oven ignited by itself in the middle of the night; our fire alarm went off & woke us. The house was filled with smoke; we have to flip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off. It was super-heated & left marks on our brick backsplash. It also melted the igniter & safety features of the oven, as well as the mechanisms for the sliding racks. Clearly, Viking has not remedied the faulty part issues that caused this.I called them & their blanket answer is thats not one of the recall ranges, albeit the exact circumstances around the previous problem were evident. The specialist that serviced the oven said it looked exactly like the previous problems, although the part in the oven read as the updated version. The customer service rep stated to send her the service notes & shed forward to management, but didnt think repair would be covered (for new racks and the melted parts due to their faulty parts = $1,600) because the range was not under recall. For $14,000, youd expect better response, customer service, and quality out of a product.

And in the 33 years that Ive made pies with my mom, this is the only oven Ive ever made a pie where in the crust did not have to be covered by foil or an aluminum ring. There are also seven different baking modes and Ive used all of them except for one. I love the versatility and the ease of use for the gas top as well. I like having the knobs on the front too cause I hated having to reach over what I was cooking and deal with the knobs at the top or the back. I also like that its very sleek and elegant looking. There are metal knobs and theres no stupid electronic display. Its impressive, it has a well thought out design and easy to clean, too. Although, I had Vikings before and the refrigeration was okay parts of it get really, really cold and even the bottom drawer actually freezes things. I was disappointed within a few months after we got it. The dairy product holders were both cracked and when you open the door, all the butter falls out. It took me a very long time to get it fixed because the dealer’s contractor was not responsive. I was informed that the warranty on that was only three months, which I thought was crazy on Viking since a Viking product is so expensive. It took me over a year to get that done and even spent the year leaving messages back and forth and got me assisted for it to be taken care of. I ended up just finding the manufacturer and ordering the part myself. I paid for $370 a piece which I thought wasnt right. I didn’t speak with a Viking customer service but I dealt with Ferguson which was the distributor that sold the Viking to the contractor. The experience was not okay. I had to get really mad and involve the contractor to get it done. The rep felt really bad once I called the contractor in and promised that would never happen again. So, I havent signed with Vikings again. I’ve heard another person in this neighborhood who has Vikings and had the same problem with her dairy product holder.

We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isnt pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but its still a good deal.

Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice
Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice for my 6-year-old Viking, each time to replace all ignitors and the seal around the door glass. This is extremely expensive and unbelievable that a commercial range cannot take a daily 20-minute usage of the broiler without wearing out in 3 years time. The excuse I was given was that most people dont broil and their stoves last much longer; and that they mostly go out to dinner. What kind of bologna is this? I wouldnt mind repairing it every 3 years because it really does cook food very well when it is working, but the last time I had it repaired, which was a week ago, it cost me about $800 and I expect it will be even higher in the next 3 years! Isnt there a way for all of us to do a class action lawsuit against Viking? Please let me know if this is in the works because there are so many of us with the same story.

The refrigerator was not working for over two weeks (totally dead - no cooling in the freezer and the main refrigerator compartment) while Viking and its local repair service went back and forth on resolving the subject. It was quickly apparent that Viking keeps an arms length distance from such issues. Also apparent is that the local repair does not keep Viking parts in their inventory for repair purposes. Repairman said the refrigerator was shipped from the factory with improper soldering of tubes. After several visits and re-soldering of tubes, the refrigerator again worked. However the repairman said if unit stops working again that is could no longer be repaired - in other words, a dead inoperable appliance. Top dollar was paid for an appliance which at the end of the day was of shoddy quality, and not properly addressed by Viking under its own warranty. Inexcusable.

The store I went to had the Viking refrigerator at 18 months with no interest. But I had a horrible experience. They had a typical salesman who was just selling a product. But Im not very happy with the refrigerator. The door was bent a little and when I called the store for the warranty, they told me that I had to call Viking myself. A store should have a department to take care of the warranty for the product and not me calling 200 people to the warranty service. It was difficult. And the process that Viking had with their warranty made me feel like they didnt care about their customers. I called several times and they didnt know which companies in my area could take care of my appliance and they asked me to call the companies. I called several but they said they didnt work for Viking warranty. There was a lack of communication. If I’m a company and a customer that buys stuff in San Diego, Id know exactly which to call. It took several calls for me to get what I wanted. I had to wait for a company to come from LA, I live in San Diego, to come to my house to do my repairs. The tech showed up two weeks later. ut because he said there wasnt anything wrong with it, I had to fix the fridge myself. I work in the maintenance division.I will not buy another Viking in my life as I would have paid something cheaper with the same quality. I could have bought a GE or an Electrolux and I would have gotten the same result or better. Availability of parts is better too. I’m a reasonable person. If you spend about $14,000 on an appliance, they should treat you better. Right now, I try to order parts for my refrigerator because parts are not available. The appliance model number is also not in the system yet.

My sister had a Viking refrigerator and I got myself one but I have had not
My sister had a Viking refrigerator and I got myself one but I have had nothing but issues. Something happened right away to the first unit I received. I fought with Viking for over a year and a half about it. They kept having repair people come in to fix stuff but nothing worked. I had to buy a new unit that they supposedly gave me a 50% discount on. Then, when the unit got in, it was dented. It took them four months to reorder and fix the part. Then, the icemaker didn’t work, and I lived without that, on a brand-new fridge for another four months. Where I live, there is only one company that could fix a Viking. They don’t have enough people and that meant that every time they order something, it took weeks to get somebody out here. That company doesnt have the workers involved. Theres not enough support or backup people that can fix these things and nobody thinks about that. When you buy a product, the service department has to come from another state to fix it. Then, if that company wasn’t good, you’re stuck at their mercy. They keep taking their time and they don’t know what they’re doing. So, I’m not happy at all. I would never buy another.

The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.

I have a thing for color and I have a lot of red in my house. I couldn’t decide if I wanted a range in cobalt blue or red. So I was searching the internet and I saw the deal that Viking was offering a free dishwasher if I bought the oven. It took me a while to decide on it if I was gonna buy from a dealer in New York and I wouldn’t have had to pay tax. But I wasn’t comfortable with that so I bought it from a dealer in Miami, which is where I live. I bought it in red and that’s cost me considerably more. They gave me the dishwasher but I bought the red panel which I had to pay for and I bought a Viking convection microwave which is not in color. It’s stainless. The first time I used the oven, I was really uncertain as to how quickly it cooks. So I called Viking and spoke to one of the representatives who happened to be a chef and I told her I was making lamb chops and she told me what to do. Now I have a little bit of difficulty in removing the shelves and lowering them ‘cause the pull-out shelves are in an obviously different way than regular ovens. I cooked the lamb chops a little too long so while they still came out great, I overdid them so I have to be a little careful in learning exactly how long I can put something in the oven or the broiler. And I’ve never cooked with infrared and it is fast. The range, when it turns on, it’s so fast and it boils water so quickly. The only problem I did have initially was that the broiler can that came with it was a piece of junk. It looks like it came from a $500 oven. I read the user’s instructions and it said, “Use no chemicals at all. I bought special cloth in Sweden to clean it. But the pan, the first time I used it, the surface started to come off. So they sent me a new one and the new one looks exactly like the oven rack which is what should have come with it in the first place. And it’s wonderful. However, I found this tiny little beige mark, like a perfectly cylindrical little round mark no bigger than the zero on the keyboard and I didn’t know what it was so they sent a Viking representative out and he found two of them on each side and they said they’re supposed to be there. So other than that, I don’t have any complaints. I love the Viking Range. I didn’t want to pay the extra money but I bought the sealed range set because that’s what I was used to and it was considerably more to buy it that way but it’s easy to clean. If you bought the open range, things can go underneath. And I’m not the neatest cook in the world. So all together, it cost me about $5,600. I love the dishwasher, too. It has a light in it and when it’s on, it’s so quiet you can’t hear it and the light shines red on my floor. The only thing is it’s a little smaller than I’m used to but it’s still very nice. And the microwave, it’s microwave and convection. So you can cook in it. But I have to learn how to do that because convection cooks very fast. But I love the way it looks. Also, anybody that I have had to deal with at Viking has been very polite, pleasant and always got back to me and got me that wonderful correct broiler pan right away. I don’t always use everything I buy but I like to buy and I like high-end stuff. And this is one of the few things I’ve never had a complaint about except the broiler pan which was the wrong one. So Viking is super wonderful.

We spent about $22,000 on appliances that are supposed to be high-end. What an absolute joke. My neighbor also has Viking appliances, same issues. I used to be a decorator in New York but now Im in Portland. I was doing caregiving for my mom, but I got her into renovating and I wanted to upgrade the whole kitchen. I wanted a sturdy commercial fridge that would still look nice in a residence and Viking Refrigerators already has the reputation. In addition, I like that the interior parts of their refrigerators were metal and not plastic. I had a simpler fridge the first time and I was amazed at how quickly the plastic parts started getting smashed when a bottle fell. I went to Eastbank Contractor Appliances. They represent a bunch of different companies, and what I liked about them was that they team up with Basco Appliances here in Portland. They picked all the brands that they like the best and put together the showroom. So you get good people who are seasoned in the industry. I trust them and they helped me go through everything. So far, I like my fridge and Im very pleased with it. I love the lighting when you open it up. There are lights all over the place. Its LED so I dont worry about wasting energy. Even though Viking Refrigerator was expensive, its worth the price. Its worth it to get something thats going to last because it just pays off in the long run.

Viking Range have had the reputation for quite a few years and we had looked at various ranges and Viking Range fall under the affordable price range. I expected the best quality from it when I bought it and its good because it didnt have a lot of electronics and would last me a lifetime, but our first range experience did not go so well. I was very disappointed its oven died after about a year and a half. I was glad I had an extended warranty on it because otherwise, it wouldnt have been covered at all and I wouldve been out the entire amount. But after nine service calls, it could not be repaired. Viking then replaced it with a new model because the model of our first range wasnt available anymore. Since then, the stove we have now has been working fine. Weve had it for about a year and a half now. The variety of the temperature using grade on it is the best about it. I can get down to a nice low simmer.

Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault. They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.

I was never notified of a fire hazard recall on my unit (Recall date: April 10, 2012; Recall number: **) which states [c]onsumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwashers and contact Vikings hotline for a free in-home repair. I discovered the recall on or about January 25, 2016, when my units electrical circuit ceased operation and I inquired about service. Thankfully no fire. I called the recall hotline, (800) 241-7239, was assigned Customer ID No. **, and was promised a repair kit would be delivered to my home within 15 business days. On March 1, 2016, I call back to the hotline to report that the repair kit still had not arrived, and I was advised that the issue was escalated and that another kit would be sent because they could not trace the 1st one. On March 24, 2016, I again called the hotline because no repair kit has been received. I was told that the company answering the hotline reported the matter to Viking and while I was placed on hold, they tried without success to reach Viking. I left my cell number and demanded a call back. The failure of Viking to timely address the recall is unacceptable. My family of 4 has been without a dishwasher for 2 months now.

Ive always had Viking in every appliance in my house. But when my refrigerator stopped all the way out, the technicians kept coming out to fix it. They came, looked at the problem and then they had to go back to get a part. I had to wait for another two to four weeks for it to come down to put in. And then another couple of weeks later, the refrigerator would quit again. So then, they had to come back two weeks later. They were down to replacing everything. Despite that, the technicians were great and I had no problems once they came out. It was just not getting the part that dragged it out because they only service my part of the town every two weeks. But when my husband stepped in, Viking finally gave me a new refrigerator. I was very disappointed that it took me probably half a year to get this issue resolved. It was my mistake and looking back, I probably wouldnt do Viking again even though they finally gave me a new refrigerator. I was looking for refrigeration, and I was doing renovations. I went online. I had wanted to upgrade from what I currently had, which was the JennAir Professional Series. I wanted something on the Wolf or Viking line. I did not go with Wolf because I could not afford the Sub-Zero Refrigerator. So, I decided to go with Viking. I looked at the reviews. I had ordered it from an appliance shop. Then I went to Ferguson Showroom to see what it looked like because the appliance shop didnt have a display. I knew it was looking like what I wanted it to look like. When I went to Ferguson, they didnt have any Viking on their floor. The salesperson said, “You know what, Latrina, I wish you would have came to us first because our customers had so many problems with Viking. We had to take it off our floor as display items.” I said, “Well, frankly, I wont have these problems.” So, I got the product. But I couldnt have the contractors in because of COVID, so I had the products here for a while. So, they installed them, and now its about the eighth month. My microwave already went out. The refrigerator handles are not so nice. The guy who came and fixed the microwave also had to tighten up the handles. At the top of the refrigerator shelf, you can set it to different levels. The Service Dept told us its out of warranty, and the technician wanted a kings ransom to repair out of warranty. After all we read, wed hoped the new ownership would have turned this around, or at least stood behind their product. Neither has happened. This is so disappointing.
