Viking Built-In Convection Microwave Hood - I have owned this appliance for
Viking Built-In Convection Microwave Hood - I have owned this appliance for less than 5 years and it is already inoperable. The machine started buzzing and burning. A repairman told me that it has defective parts. Nothing caused by us. Total cost for the repairs is $576. The warranty states that only one part is covered for 5 years - of course, not the parts I need. The company (Viking) wasted a lot of my time only to state the same, Sorry, not covered. Frustrating. I could have bought a $50 microwave from any big box shop that would probably still be working today. Viking is supposed to be top of the line. What a joke.

Bought a Viking that never ran properly, parts broke, mother board changed 3 times. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, mother board, in less than 9 months and finally got replaced again. 2 months into owning it broke down!!! We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. So we bought a defective Viking at full price the first time then had it replaced and paid another $5000+ so now our investment total about 16,000$ plus time spent away from work for repair guys to come and fix numerous times per year plus horrible costumer service. One repair company purported to order a part and we paid for it and never got it. They disappeared. Worst product ever!!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price points.

Its a nice refrigerator. The only thing I didn’t like was we had a repair guy here twice already for two fans and then the ice wasnt working either. The technicians were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had to order a couple of parts. The first time we had a fan that went out, it took about two months to get. But the tech rigged it up some kind of way and it was not losing any kind of coolness to it, so it stays running. It’s just made it louder. Then we just got that other fan replaced last week. The tech came out and fixed that for us. It took us about three weeks before he got that part in to get it fixed for us. So quality-wise, its not worth the price.

We got a Viking refrigerator that was a brand new floor model even though I’m a die-hard Sub-Zero girl and I only like Sub-Zero. If I would have paid about $10,000, then I wouldn’t have been super thrilled. Then during delivery, we got a leaking seal on the freezer that we needed to deal with. But I haven’t dealt with that yet and I’m assuming that’s under warranty. Also, if they were gonna sell a $10,000 fridge, then they have to make sure that it has dual compressors where one gets the fridge and the freezer. So while I’m not super happy with the Viking, its overall quality of the refrigeration is good. My produce seems to keep not quite as long as the Sub-Zero but the Viking is better than a standard refrigerator one buys at Home Depot. The lighting is also very bright and good.

We love the range! I had a Dacor range before but my Viking now is better. It is more expensive, but its a far superior range. I could have gotten a less expensive one but we went with them based on their reputation. Ive known about Viking Ranges and its a high-quality product. I got the basic one that had a self-cleaning. Then, I also bought a griddle, and I love it too.

I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

I had a Wolf and a Sub-Zero. We moved from out of state and they have a Viking stove in the house. Ive heard some good things about the Viking. Since I have a Viking stove, I got the refrigerator as well. However, Im very disappointed with the refrigerator because it was only three months old and one of the blades of one of the fans inside was already broken and another fan wasnt hooked up in the bottom. I had water dripping from the door on my fourth floor. For a brand new refrigerator and for what we paid for, that was not acceptable. My husband made the appointment to have it fixed and his interaction with Vikings customer service rep was very nice. A tech came out and it didnt take him long to fix the refrigerator.

After spending $25K on high end, top of the line appliances my response, JUNK, JUNK, JUNK! I should have stuck with Sears or GE. What went wrong: 1) MW door needed to be replaced out of the box. Kept sticking closed and would not open. Had to have it serviced. At least it was under warranty; 2) Wine cooler fan motor stopped working within the first month. Needed to be replaced. Replaced under warranty; 3) Beverage center relay needed to be replaced. Had I been able to buy one from a supplier it would have cost $45 dollars. NO I had to get the part from Viking $475.00!!! No Warranty. 4 year old appliance. Beverage center door seal had to be replaced after one year. Under warranty. 4) $5900 Refrigerator! EVERY interior drawer CRACKED AND SPLIT after 4 years of operation and had to be replaced for $500 dollars!!! Its get WORSE. The freezer door rusted after one year. Had to be replaced. Thank g-d it was under warranty.Came home to a refrigerator in cardiac arrest 5 years after being placed in service. Alarms going off. Food spoiled. This was just after spending $200 shopping for the week. Turned out the 3 phase rectifier was toast. No warranty. $545 to replace it. Then one day later alarms going off again. Serviceman comes out finds coolant level low. Cant find the reason. Says there is a small undetectable leak. Fills the system. No WARRANTY. $400 more dollars; 5) $2500 dollar under counter professional ice machine. Pump stopped working. Next the temp probe stopped working. Fixed under warranty. Then the temp probe went out again. I finally unplugged the unit and there it sits today unplugged. More junk. Contact Viking. Response, YOURE ON YOUR OWN. No nothing! JUNK STAY AWAY. Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

Monogram appliances but we heard their refrigerator wasnt good. We wanted a higher end refrigerator and since we had experience with Viking, we ordered one online through AJ Madison. It was a stand-alone and theres not many high-end companies that make a stand alone. We didnt have to pay self-tax and shipping. The refrigerator looks pretty cool and the functions are great. Weve been very happy with Viking.

I thought Viking had a good reputation and high-quality appliances. Ive had my Viking refrigerator since November 1st and the buying process was fine. The rebate process was pretty good too. It’s just that the $10,000 refrigerator isn’t working that great. It doesn’t make ice and/or whatever makes the ice sort of bloated out and puts frost all over the freezer. Viking customer service sent out a local firm to fix the problem and they came out multiple times. They said they fixed the refrigerator twice but it’s still not fixed. I’m not feeling too good and I need to call Viking back again. My wife is screaming at me to do so.

Our Viking Microwave was 5 years old when it stopped working. We had an authorized service person come to fix it, at great cost - more than most new microwave ovens cost - but within six weeks it was broken again. We got the same repair service in, but again it broke. Now we need to pay for the company to pick up the microwave and fix it - all on our dime. When I suggested it wasnt worth it, the service guy agreed - especially as it only costs $1400 to buy a new one! - #nomoreviking.

We purchased a new Viking all refrigeration unit and it has been nothing but trouble. Ice forms on the back wall and around the fan unit. The fan started to make a terrible noise because it was hitting the ice. Hadco (the Viking rep in Florida) has sent repairmen a number of times, but the issue is still not solved. It appears to me to be an engineering problem as there is no positive seal when the door closes. This would allow humidity to build up inside the unit. We have used Sub Zero before, but the Viking unit appeared to be better designed - it is not. I am in the process of trying to arrange for a replacement refrigerator.

Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked
Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked meat, so I chose them. There were multiple dealers so purchasing it wasn’t too difficult of a process. But youd need some plumber to put it in because it was so heavy. It was lifted not from the bottom and I don’t think they did a particularly good job of it. There was that kind of lip that came out and too often that was used, that was not reinforced enough to handle the weight or sometimes the door was also used incorrectly. It should not to do it that way, but it looked like a handle and people invariably lift and pull on it.In the two years and a half that Ive had it, weve had the thermometer broke and we’ve had that replaced, but it was under warranty. We called them and then they called us back and then they made a stress test, but eventually we got through it. The process wasn’t super-fast, but we’re easy-going, so we managed around it.Im not really happy with the baking. It’s inconsistent. And with the stuff that got on the burners and spilled on it, you just can’t get them cleaned after a while. This is sort of the nature of the stove itself. There are certain parts that are more difficult than others. Everything that we’ve read about it is pretty much true and that has been consistent. So, we knew what we were getting, that it was gonna be expensive, that it didn’t cook real evenly, but it still looks cool and they have a roadmap of how to get it better.

I build houses and I recommend Viking to all my customers. However, I didnt like the range that I got from them that I bought from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The handle on it broke and they sent out a service guy to fix it. I took a video with my phone of exactly what was wrong so there was no reason for them to come out without the part. However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. For three months, I had to go without my middle burner thermostat controller working, which was unacceptable for a $7,000 stove. Ive given you guys countless customers when I build homes. Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault. They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.

We were looking for a counter depth refrigerator, and the Viking refrigerator was one of the few ones that we liked. It works really well and we like its design. It gets the food really cold. I like the lighting there and the construction of it. However, the dealer we bought it from was horrible. I bought from the dealer Viking appliances including a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and a microwave. When they first brought the refrigerator over, they didn’t have a truck that has a ramp to take it off from the truck. What they ended up doing was they had to open up the fridge in the truck, had to lay it on its side, and slid it on the floor. They had three people struggling, carrying it into the house without its box. I was to the point of just livid. Fortunately, they didn’t scratch anything because I was standing there right next to them making sure nothing happened. I could have picked a better dealer despite them giving me free installation.I have a printout of the fridge so that we know where to put the electrical outlet as well as the water outlet. But in the case of the range, there wasn’t really a cutout. All we knew was that it has a 30-inch width so when it arrived, it couldn’t fit into the wall because the gas outlet in the wall was right in the middle. We remodeled the entire kitchen and nobody explained it to me when I was in the showroom that we could have reconfigured everything to make sure that the appliances actually fit there. Also in the dishwasher, there was a piece at the bottom that keeps falling off. Its kinda weird and I’m not sure what to do with it. However, the appliances were great, overall. I’m very satisfied with the Viking brand. It looks great. I have people come by and everybody’s awed by the overall look of it. It’s just beautiful.

However, I have issues with the dishwasher because it takes two hours to do what a normal one does. Also, the keyboard is not customer-friendly. A friend of ours also had a Viking that we really liked the style of. We compared it against other ones in the showroom and generally liked the look of it better. We got a Viking range and dealt with MD Appliance in La Canada, California, and they were great. They were good at calling out the features and differences between them and the other top-of-the-line one that was like a Wolf. There are also a couple of very small, little, kinda like nitpicky things I noticed with the range. When the burner is at a very low setting, almost like on the simmer setting, it has a flickering effect on the gas burner. Also its not a smooth, sort of clean sounding burn when it’s up higher. So if I were to perfect the range, I would eliminate that kind of irritating flicker sound. The burners themselves are very heavy, which is fine. But the metal bottom of the burners is very rough, and it’s not a finished metal. So unfortunately when our house cleaner was taking it off of there, she scratched some of the surface of the range which freaking killed us, because it was like the price of a car. I wished that there was either some of sort of powder coat or some kind of finish on the underside of the burner that would prevent that type of thing from happening. But other than that were pleased with the quality and I have no problem recommending it.

We finally had to get an upgraded compressor because the one in the fridge wasnt big enough. Big money. This year, the cooling fan stopped working in fridge. This was 3 weeks ago. My appliance repair contractors spent a week trying to contact service. Finally they sent a part, 3 days later… So now I face the 4th of July summer holiday, no fridge. I feel like I should order multiples of the 4 fan I need, fully expecting this will happen again. Viking, good name, bad product.

I am now on week 6 and STILL l waiting for a LP to Propane converter that was suppose to be here before 3 weeks. The micro/Conv oven I ordered came in with dents in it AND it is now going on week 4 and I STILL do not have a micro/Conv oven. My kitchen is going on week 6 and due to VIKING I DO NOT HAVE MY KITCHEN COMPLETED!!! This is ridiculous!!! I WILL NEVER buy a VIKING product again. I am redoing a kitchen, I knew what I wanted and ordered EVERYTHING in plenty of time to have it completed BUT I DO NOT have my kitchen completed due to VIKING!!!I purchased all new Viking products from our local dealer Probst Refrigeration in Effingham, IL and here I am still without a kitchen. I am NOT happy at all. My fridge came in with the Viking tag on crooked and still has not been replaced. My fridge control panel came in warped and it also has not been replaced. My fridge has been in over 2 months. I am VERY UNSATISFIED with Viking and I have only used my fridge. I do not have an order number or receipt yet as I still do NOT have WORKING appliances.

Viking is amazing and they have come a long way. I’ve owned all different versions and as a contractor, I put them in a lot of different things. The new ones are great. I chose them over Wolf at the time due to their price. However, the door wasn’t set right and the light broke. So I’ve been waiting for them to order the part, come in here and finish it. Other than that, I love the range. The guys did a good job and theyre very consistent. I called to the Viking team once and they were very helpful. They should give more information such as the steps in using a gas oven for cooking and send that out, but so far so good with my Viking range.

We went to a home remodeling show and we liked the way Viking Ranges looked. Aside from that, it was a pro stove with a high performance. We were buying a whole kitchen worth of appliances and the guy that helped us at the Viking dealer was very helpful in picking out all the different models and various other things we wanted to get. He had some good ideas and suggestions about things, so it was all good. We love the quality of the range but the oven igniters kept turning off by themselves, so we had to do a warranty claim. I called Viking directly and they had someone out. Half an hour later, he was done. The igniters were off location and the guy bent them. He knew what he was doing and he also pointed out that one of the four rubber mounting buttons was missing on the grill tops. He told us to call Viking and they would send us a new one for free. He did more than what he was supposed to do. The experience with Viking was all positive and if you can afford it, you should get it.

We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

When looking at other competitors of theirs, Vivint could step the design up a little bit. But for the price point, the refrigerator is doing what I would expect it to be doing. I havent had any issues in comparison to other issues Ive had or are having with Vikings other products such as the freestanding range. The performance has not been as expected. Ive been having some issues with the oven specifically and the griddle not working. Theyve sent some technicians multiple times who tried to fix it but its still not working. Im trying out to see about getting a replacement or refund since it’s been over four times now. Theyre easy to contact so Ill give them a 10 or an A+ for that but the follow up is lacking. Im having to follow up with them as to whats going. Ive recently had to request an escalation to try to get information because they dont have much to go by based off of what theyre waiting on with their contracted vendor.

The quality is great, and it was part of the reason why we bought it. I like that our range works. It does everything that we’re asking it to do. It’s what my wife wanted. I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48 range oven. In the past 5 years Ive moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address. My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks. The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. Ive always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. Im confident that Im not the only consumer whos experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And Im also confident that customers whove spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

Between a Viking and a Wolf, we like the idea of having the microwave above. The Viking range comes with a microwave and so we went through a dealer and got one. The only thing that I dont like is that the stovetop is very hard to keep clean. Its got a shininess, and so it always seems like its very hard to clean. Other than that, the quality is great. I like how quickly it heats everything up. The water boils quicker and the oven bakes a lot nicer and more even.

I was very happy with the quality of the Viking Range. I had a Viking gas range for probably 12 years, and this time, I went with a Viking induction range because my house didn’t have gas hooked up. Im still trying to get accustomed to the induction range because its different than gas. But I love the way that its easy to clean. It looks great. The control knobs and everything are really sharp looking.I would buy a Viking product again. However, I did not have good experiences with the dealers. I had been trying to buy a Viking range at least two months before I actually got to purchase it because I was already a Viking customer. Every place I went to said they were not doing Viking anymore. They said they were phasing it out. So, I was just kind of laid back and waited, and then I contacted Viking directly and tried to get information on my own. I finally went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, and they had given me the runaround the first time. The next time we went, I found somebody that would sell it to us, but they didn’t have much in stock. We had to buy just from a picture.

My oven worked beautifully until I decided to use the clean cycle. Afterwards, I lost the alarm on the timer. I also noticed that it was not keeping accurate temperature. Called repairman who came out and checked the control board and said it needed replacing. Replaced it today and, after repairman left, I tried to bake. The oven reaches the set temperature but then begins to cool down and never clicks back on to warm back up. I am so frustrated. Just to have a repairman step foot in my house is $95! Any suggestions would be appreciated.Updated on 03/07/2017: After replacing control board and thermostat, my oven still does not hold temperature. It will reach temperature setting initially but will decrease and never reach original set temp. After authorized Viking repairman replaced thermostat, he called Viking Help Line. They were not able to offer any help. We are now replacing internal temperature probe to see if that makes any difference at all. After we replace this part, there is nothing else to replace (other than the oven). I am so disappointed as I purchased this oven because it was made in the USA and was supposed to be top of the line. We have now invested way more money than we should have! Never, ever, ever use the cleaning cycle!

I purchased my Viking side by side built in refrigerator in 2011... I have had ongoing problems... The dealer sent out a technician with a list of problems we were having... Water freezing within the door to dispenser, rattle within the grille, door hinge catches and pings when opened and closed. After a couple of times with dealer technician, they sent me to a local authorized Viking repair business. Numerous technicians were sent out to work on previous problems and then we started adding additional problems... The back wall piece that ice tray connected to came loose, and again no ice or water dispensing. Auger motor broke. As to date, 2014 I am still contacting technicians to repair my frig. I just contacted Viking direct and wanted to know what can be done! She apologized and apologized and yet said that Viking will not take any steps to review and/or replace my messed up refrigerator... I was so displeased. The Viking appliances are high-end and I paid quite a nice ticket price for a kitchen full of Vikings... And being American made, which is why we chose Viking. We thought they would be a service quality company. Not the case in my experience. I would not recommend Viking appliances.

I had a Viking range 20 years ago. I was looking for a new gas range with certain features and Viking filled the spot. So far, I love the quality of the range that we received from Viking. I like that it’s simple, very direct, and does what it says it’s gonna do. I turn it on and off, and there are no hidden electronics to mess up. It has worked ever since we set it up, so it’s great. Also, I absolutely love the broiler. But any time that people buy something online and it’s being shipped from New York, nobody gives them a date on when their product is going to arrive and there’s a bit of tension that goes on with that. In this case, our product arrived two weeks later than what we were promised, so there was some angst with that. But scheduling was the only issue that we had and other than that, the people that I talked to were very nice and polite.

Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didn’t stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.

My wife and I have always wanted a professional level range. We considered Viking to be the best, especially for $5,000. Now were totally disillusioned!! First our dealer tried to fix the problems. When they couldnt, they turned us over to Viking and wouldnt come work on the range any more. Viking through their rep in Milwaukee visited us a couple of times and then stopped responding. The igniters have been replaced at least four times. One or more of them continues to fire for some seconds or minutes when turning on any burner. If the oven doesnt light on the first ignite youd better be right there to turn off the oven because on the second ignite the oven will blow up! Viking doesnt care. How they keep their reputation after reading all of the customer comments is beyond me. Id give them zero stars if it were possible. All we can say at this point is----STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!!!!!!

I had a Sub-Zero for about 25 years and it was slowly dying. I went to Gringers which is a lower-east side appliance store that has been around for many years. I was shopping for a refrigerator. The space that I had in my kitchen would only take a 24-inch depth refrigerator. I asked the store people if they could help me in figuring out what to do. They had floor models and the Sub-Zero that there was too expensive. I didnt think that I would be able to afford a new Sub-Zero refrigerator but I just wanted to price things out. They had this Viking and it was opened on the right side and you can change the door opening. That was the floor model. The salesman there was friendly and happy. He said that anything made in the United States was gonna be 10 times better than any of the models of anything else out there. I bought the Viking refrigerator because it was a floor model and I was able to negotiate with the guy that if I would have the full warranty, it would be three years even though the model was on the floor for close to a year. I got the extended insurance so it’s insured for eight years. I never bought anything off the floor. I really felt like I was taking a chance and was hoping that the thing wouldnt break as soon as the delivery guy left. Im in a brownstone house in Brooklyn and it’s a 150-year-old house. Things are a little lopsided. The guy from Gringers came for the installation and he didnt install the fridge so that it was level. Because of this, I had an issue with the fridge. The system failed six months ago. I came down one morning, opened the refrigerator, got the milk out for my tea and I noticed that there seemed to be beads of water in the freezer. I opened it and it was like half-frozen. I contacted the place where I bought the refrigerator because it was just two years since I bought the refrigerator so it was still on the original warranty. They sent somebody out. But it took a while because they were very busy. When the guy came out, he looked at it and he said the refrigerator wasnt broken but it had to be leveled. They made another appointment and the refrigerator was leveled which was really nice. The people who installed the fridge then came back. Gringer said to the insurance company to fix the fridge then bill them. Other than that, the refrigerator has been great. It’s a big fridge thats probably too big even for one person, which I am now in the house. I would highly recommend Viking. I love the fridge. It keeps everything really cold and I dont adjust the temperature. I can see that the temperature is stable each time I open the refrigerator door. There’s also enough space in the freezer. Everything, I feel, is good quality and it’s gonna last maybe longer than me.

We were looking for a range on the higher end, more top-of-the-line, and there were only a few that we looked at, but we chose Viking Ranges for the reliability. I liked that they were manufactured in the U.S. However, Im really disappointed because we cant get someone to come and help fix it. Ever since it was installed, its been running really hot. We have liquid propane and weve already had three people come out and look at it because I love to cook, which is why we invested in the stove. Im the only one who can cook on it because its so hot and cant get to simmer. Its low is boiling and theres no way to get it turned down. We looked at it and it said that it came already pre-configured for liquid propane and theres no adjustments that can be made. Its really frustrating and were stuck with it. I even went online and registered that I got the stove. The last repair person a couple of weeks ago said that there’s nothing they can do. I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

We had a Sub-Zero and then we decided to try a Viking. We wanted a freezer on the bottom rather than the side to side, and it’s stainless steel. However, we’ve had some problems with the freezer as it stopped working. Somebody came in and defrosted the drain line or whatever that gets clogged up with a hair dryer. We had to spend about $400 to $500 to get that fixed as it was out of the warranty. Also, Im not all that impressed with the set up for the authorized repair. We called customer service, and the repair people are coming again tomorrow. But it’s like I’m talking to somebody where I got a phone bank somewhere, and it’s not a local business. For one thing, we can’t find the stupid model number or the serial number. They’re underneath somewhere strange in the back of the freezer, and one can’t get down there to see it. Also, the other day, one of those bookcases with the sliding shelves on the door broke apart for no reason. I had to order from Viking a new one for a couple hundred dollars for half of one of those bookcase sliding units. It’s so stupid that I’m trying to get that plastic. This unit just broke apart for no reason, and then I’m trying to go find the model number and the serial number so that I could talk intelligently with Viking support, and I can’t get it. The only way I found it was to go back to the original invoice from ABW who were the people who get all the appliance for us when we were renovating the kitchen. Other than having these incidents, Viking is a good refrigerator and we like it.

NOW, we have no water dispenser and we have an entirely new problem -- where the ice maker sprays water all over the inside of the freezer causing a film of ice to cover everything. Now, I have to defrost my freezer ever 3 weeks like my mom did in the 1970s by taking everything out and scraping chunks of ice out of of the freezer. When the ice maker DOES work, it makes one tray of ice about every 12 hours which is not helpful for a family of 5. We have had the freezer serviced 3x which has cost us a thousand dollars and each time the repairman tells me how many Viking fridges he is called for -- and how AWFUL Viking customer service is. They wont even return his calls. If I could give them a ZERO, I gladly would.

Our fridge was on its way out. Plus, we had a space issue and we wanted to find a fridge that would fit in it without having to cut our cabinets. The size was the biggest factor. We tried Viking Refrigerators just to try something different. It was also because we’ve heard good things about the brand and with the way it looked. We bought it online through some appliance website and they were okay. However, the installers were poor and didn’t put the ice machine in right, so it didn’t work. But that has nothing to do with Viking. The refrigerator has a freezer at the bottom which I like as it gives me more room at the top. It’s easier to organize my food because there’s a lot of refrigeration space. I like that both doors open. I also like how its working out. It’s easier just for me. It has a lot of flexibility. The ref is not built-in, but it looks built-in. It fits perfectly with the way we have our cabinets. So far, the refrigerator is of good quality. It is a nice product. It keeps even temperature. Its pricey but I like the way it looks and everyone in my family likes it.

I love the stove. It cooks fast. The quality is good and Viking has always been good. But the ordering process was a disastrous nightmare. Viking should not ever let Best Buy sell their products again. I totally understand that there’s a shortage of product and people to build product. But Best Buy ordered it for me, initially, then they canceled the order, then they triple billed me. I was paying $18,000 for the stove at one point. Then, come to find out, it sat in their warehouse for two months. Then they shipped it and brought it, but they brought the wrong one. They ordered a propane stove instead of a gas stove. I had to pay somebody to come in and put the conversion kit in. It was disaster after disaster after disaster.

Viking is American made, which I like. We have all-Viking in our kitchen, other than the refrigerator. Then, we needed a new refrigerator, so we bought a Viking. But the freezer is not working properly and it has been going on for a few weeks now. Their people already came out twice to try and fix it but they have been unsuccessful and they’ve replaced a part the last time. Other than that, the Viking reps are very nice and cooperative. We’ve got other Viking appliances that work extraordinarily well. We have a Viking oven, a cooktop, and a microwave and they’re great. There just needs to be an adjustment in the operation of the condenser of the refrigerator. I’m not happy now. I spent $10,000 for the refrigerator and I expect it to work properly.

We owned a Viking in our previous home, and we are familiar with appliances, so we wanted to have a Viking suite in our new kitchen. We were the happiest with the double oven in our previous place. We had a different model, and the convection ovens were great. So that was our starting appliance, and then we just said that we’ll go with Viking. We thought about Sub-Zero and Wolf but we decided to go with Viking again. We like the size and the look of the refrigerator. In terms performance, everything is fine for now. I’m happy with the way it’s performing. I like the feature that you can control temperature in different compartments in the refrigerator, and there’s ample space in the freezer. The whole suite is the reason that we wanted to incorporate the refrigerator as well. But I would go with a different dealer next time.

I have always heard about Viking Ranges and always wanted one. We remodeled our whole house, so we got all new appliances. We did some research and Viking Range was really out of my cost range but I found one at Best Buy that was being discontinued and it was locked down and so we got it. I chose Viking because I liked the look of it. I wanted a dual fuel and I liked the look of the cooktop and I particularly like the self-cleaning range. I was also looking at a KitchenAid but when I dug deeper, I found that it wasnt self-cleaning and Viking Range appeared to be. I havent cleaned it yet. We used to have just a cooktop and a separate oven and I wanted both of those combined together. Other ranges were far away from the actual burner itself and I really wanted one that was closer. I really like the shelf, pulling it in and out and Viking was very smooth in that. So, we decided to go with a Viking Range. However, the quality is not so good. We bought it in October off the showroom floor. They sat here for over a month and then they installed it and it didnt work. The gas cooktop worked but the electric oven did not work. Since we bought it at Best Buy through Pacific Sales and we signed up for their Geek Squad offer or the five-year plan, we called them and someone came out the next day. They told us that the motherboard was fried. So, they said I have to order another one. So, we waited and waited and finally, they ordered the part, the part came and the guy who came to install it said, Oh, this is the wrong part. This is not what we ordered. So at that point, this was in January, I was fed up with them because both who came had no good things to say about Viking. We started questioning if we made the right decision. Maybe we loved the way it looks, but if I have problems with it, then this is not the range for us. So, we went to Best Buy and Pacific Sales, and we talked to them and they were very nice about it. They asked if we want our money refunded or if we want to pick out another one instead. I selected the KitchenAid that I wasnt going to get the first time. And in the meantime, they gave me the name of the Viking dealer in Dallas area that provides some support for that kind of thing and told us, Call them directly and see what they can do. And if they get it fixed and you want to use it, use it until your other one comes in. So, the KitchenAid was back ordered and it was just supposed to be delivered last Thursday. The guy came out from the other place and he worked on the Viking range and he said, Well, I think its just the power supply thats bad on it. Let me get a part for it. So, he ordered a part, he came out and it was just the power supply. He fixed it and got it up and running and thats been a couple of weeks ago. Now, its up and running and I love it. The guy who fixed it recommended that we should call Viking and get an extended warranty from them. I did but Viking doesnt offer an extended warranty. Also, theres a lot of things in there and I have not used but I did not get anything with it that tells you not to do or how to convert or any of that. I got to figure that out. I have conventional kitchen instructions and I wanted it to convert it to convection but I dont know how thats going to work yet. We bought an extended warranty with Best Buy or Pacific Sales because it does have a material warranty on it. So, Im going to call the people who can fix it for two years and then we go back to Best Buy for the last three years. I havent used all the functionality on there but I love what Ive used, which is bake and Ive used the cooktop and the grill on the cooktop. If I had purchased it from someone else who knew more about Viking, I might have had a different experience. I dont know how long they studied Viking. But when I called the Viking repair people directly, they said not everyones authorized to make changes. If youre going to buy something off the floor, it should work, and you should have people who are authorized to fix come out and work on it. And whoever comes out, since you spent a ton of money on it, you want someone to confirm that you made the right decision and not bad mouth what you had.

There was not a Viking dealer close to me in West Virginia. So I bought a Viking gas range in Maryland and I paid to have it shipped. I had it for a few months now, but the oven quit working. I had it repaired five times and every time it died, it was the same part. Finally after about a year and a half, Viking offered to give me another range and another warranty. I got the same model but a year newer. They had the rollers on it where mine didnt. I used it for six months but the oven quit working. It was repaired twice, but what they decided after the second time was that it needed what I call a torpedo fan that would come on when the oven got hot and blow on this little electronic part that kept dying. It was repaired once after they put the fan on and in June of last year it died again. After about a year and a half, the store that was sending a repairman to me from Pennsylvania went out of business and all of a sudden I didnt have a repairman that could come. So Viking made arrangements with Bridgeville Appliance in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to come and service. Each time that I had a service, I called up and then in two weeks the guy had come and sometimes hed have to order a part. The guy came from 15 miles away and when he looked at the stove, he had no idea how to attack it. I dont know whether they paid the guy or not but it was under a warranty. When the second oven died last June I told them, I absolutely wanted my money back and they did not offer me that. I told them, I do not want the same model. Ive had two and neither ones worked. They then emailed me and I talked to somebody in Mississippi. They finally put me over to somebody who offered me four models. I told them, I would be willing to pay a normal fee to upgrade but I wasnt going to pay the full price. I chose a gas top with electric oven and it was finally installed last December. So its been six months without an oven. Right now, the oven is still working but I havent used it a whole lot because Ive kind of got away from using it. But Its been almost three years playing with this.Viking honored their warranty but the first product I bought was not even self-cleaning. It was a basic stove and I dont think they had enough installation around the oven to protect that because that electronic part sat on top of the oven underneath the burners. And when they had to repair, they took the top off, different repairman did different things. After four or five repairs, you get a little disgusted. They kept telling me that I was the only one who had the part was dying. But that didnt make sense. There should have been a recall. When they put that little torpedo fan blowing on, I could hear the little fan go on.When they brought this last oven, there was a $6,900 and some dollar price tag on it and I only paid about $4,000 for the first one. So, they really upgraded me. Ive got really good service with the repair, except sometimes, getting someone here took a time. Each time the oven broke down, I had at least a month or six weeks without an oven. I was more without than I was with an oven. So I would not recommend this product.

I used to be a decorator in New York but now Im in Portland. I was doing caregiving for my mom, but I got her into renovating and I wanted to upgrade the whole kitchen. I wanted a sturdy commercial fridge that would still look nice in a residence and Viking Refrigerators already has the reputation. In addition, I like that the interior parts of their refrigerators were metal and not plastic. I had a simpler fridge the first time and I was amazed at how quickly the plastic parts started getting smashed when a bottle fell. I went to Eastbank Contractor Appliances. They represent a bunch of different companies, and what I liked about them was that they team up with Basco Appliances here in Portland. They picked all the brands that they like the best and put together the showroom. So you get good people who are seasoned in the industry. I trust them and they helped me go through everything. So far, I like my fridge and Im very pleased with it. I love the lighting when you open it up. There are lights all over the place. Its LED so I dont worry about wasting energy. Even though Viking Refrigerator was expensive, its worth the price. Its worth it to get something thats going to last because it just pays off in the long run.

Trying to get parts in has proven to be next to impossible. On three different occasions, different parts were needed for 3 separate Viking appliances, it took over one month to get parts delivered to service repairman. When questioning the repairmen (I have tried 2 different service companies) they all stated that they were unable to get anyone to answer any questions, had no tech support, and were very hard to work with. I love my appliances, however going without a dishwasher for over 1 month, after 3 service calls and still the part is not on its way. And of course the warranty is out! I need a motherboard replaced after only under 2 years of buying the appliances. $345 for just the motherboard, not to mention 3 service calls. I should have just bought a new dishwasher, and next time they will NOT be Viking. Customer service is key and they are locked out!!!!

We ordered the one through Best Buy and when the delivery company damaged our door threshold, Best Buy took care of it. They fixed it and made it right. We found that the refrigerators compressor was louder than others. Still, it didn’t bother us as it was consistent with the reviews online. We just moved into a new house with a Viking refrigerator. This model has a pull-out freezer drawer on the bottom and today, when my daughter had a friend over, they opened the door to the refrigerator while the freezer drawer was ajar and the unit was so top and front heavy that it fell forward, nearly crushing both girls. Luckily, we have a kitchen island that is about 2 feet from the fridge that stopped its free fall. We only lost most of the contents of the refrigerator and spent an hour cleaning up broken glass and spilled food instead of rushing to the ER or calling 911. This isnt the first problem weve had with this fridge despite the fact that weve only had it for about a month. The freezer leaks almost constantly into an overflowing drip tray and is ruining the hardwood floor beneath it. After todays incident, I went to the basement to discover that water was pouring from the ceiling light fixture directly beneath the fridge. Ill be replacing this unit ASAP as Im afraid to let my children open the door by themselves.

The range that I got from Viking is not very different from the one I had that was 20 years old. It had fewer features though. I used to have a separate grill and a separate griddle. They consolidated them into one area with a pan that flips over and its not quite the same. But the burners are nicer and it’s easier to clean. The top of the stove looks great and the lights are a nice accent. But after that, I had problems. Ive had to call repair services out here three times, so far. They eventually got them fixed. But its strange. I buy a $500 stove that lasted me 10 years and I had no problems. I buy a $15,000 range and within two or three months of owning it, I have to call to get repairs made. It was not what I was expecting. I regret, a little bit, buying the range. I was banking on the American made name and Viking has a long history, but Middleby has purchased them, seeing there have been some changes in quality and how it was working. And the new range manifested this very same issue as the 20-year-old one I replaced started to have towards the end of its lifecycle. So that was unfortunate. Probably, had I done it again, I would have bought a Wolf or some other range instead.

The refrigerator (DFRB304L) was leaving a puddle on the floor in front. The repairman was clueless. Luckily, my son is an engineer and he took all the shelves out and took the inside back off in order to find the poorly engineered problem and caulk it. His repair worked. Also, the clear parts of the drawers all cracked. This is obviously a quality control problem, but when I contacted them, their response was that the refrigerator was out of warranty. At that time, it was only just. I really thought that a company like that would stand behind its products, but my eyes have been opened! The Viking Range in our house has been in it longer than we have and weve been here for maybe four years but its pretty good. I got it serviced last Friday to make sure all the parts are working in order and for the most part, everything is working fairly well. I like the griddle part of the range because its fairly easy to use and clean. The whole range is easy to clean because everything pops off fairly easy. Im not a neat freak but its nice to be able to get all the food out of the crevices. Also, cooking on it is fairly easy. But, I cant get the temperature low enough. The low feature is too hot and when I simmer, I cant seem to get close enough to it without igniting the pilot light again. For example, usually with rice, you put on a low simmer and the low setting is just still too hot for it. Also, I dont know if this would interfere with the flame but we have a gas stove and an overhead exhaust and it would be nice to have the exhaust where the oven outtake is. Because instead of having an exhaust over the food, it would just be more on the same plane as the food. Its also nice to not have the fan on because its so loud when Im cooking and I feel like Im in a wind tunnel. But other than those, the functionality of the stove is quite useful. The dual oven is also pretty nice but its cavity cant fit a turkey. You have the three-inch roasting pin, the elevation to that and then you have the bird which has a big breadth to it so Im not able to put it in the oven. But, for the most part, its pretty nice with the conduction and all those features. Then, we have an industrial professional grade, so its raised off the floor a good three inches. You could use that to gain more cavity space. In addition, we have a little warming oven to the side and the width of that is too narrow but the height on it is perfect. I would like it a little bit wider for most dishes and sheet pans.I think its very reliable and very consistent. However, my husband said that if he had his wishes, he wouldnt buy a Viking range again, but he doesnt cook and he doesnt get into the kitchen at all. I think its because its such a big piece of equipment but the actual components of it are very small. Wolf is what he really liked and the dial controls are a lot more flexible based on what youre cooking and the cavity is much bigger. But I would say some positives with Viking is that the cooktop space of the range is very open. I have a lot of big pans but Im able to put two big pans side-by-side without having problems. Also, I can put a small pan on top and not feel like its being swallowed up by the burner.

I’ve owned Viking Refrigerators for a while. Ive had my old one for 20 years and I bought a new one due to its brand and reliability. I also like its look. Ive had my new one for about three months. But the quality becomes questionable after 10 or 15 years and it becomes very expensive to maintain. Also, the issue with the two I have right now is that with the way they are designed, regardless of the temperature, everything freezes over in the top shelf. Everything gets slushy, especially beverages. It almost makes the top shelf unusable and I have to move all beverages to the bottom. I can only store limited stuff up there, otherwise, it’s gonna freeze over. They should at least have a cover on there. Also, they should extend the warranty.

We bought a brand new Viking Professional 301 Series Built-In Dishwasher when we moved into a new townhouse 18 months ago. It hasnt worked in a month, although we have had 4 service calls and 4 parts replacements in 3 weeks - after the last visit it flooded the kitchen floor after the tech left. I think we have had 8 service calls in 18 months. There is obviously a problem with the dishwasher (it has been discontinued) however Viking refuses to consider replacing it. Viking does not stand by their product - rather than provide us with a working unit, they prefer to jerry-rig a series of failing repairs. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. I understand that appliances fail, however for us the failure has been the integrity and quality of Viking Customer Service. What a disappointment.

Im happy with my Viking refrigerator and I like the size of the refrigerator compartment. On the other hand, I noticed the dirt pan underneath overflowed, at least, once. When I went to pull it out to just empty it, I couldnt remove it and I cant reach into the assembly area down there to remove the proper screws to be able to remove the whole dirt pan. Its a little concerning because I have already had water on the floor once from the unit and I certainly would want to be able to prevent it from happening again. Also, itd be nice if they had a water filtration system in it so you could get drinking water out of it or like a spigot to get your drinking water. I walked into the store looking for a Sunshine or Vikings traditional gas range. Ive heard of Viking but I didnt know about their products. Their sales reps were not really educated. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

I had a local serviceman out several times that charged for service and said, Dont expect warranty service. That is exactly why he stopped carrying Viking gas ranges. The range has never cooked or baked correctly from the day it was installed. Viking only gets a 1 star because it is the lowest I can give them. I would never buy another Viking product.

We bought the Viking stove through Setzers and as a part of getting that, we also got a dishwasher. It was a deal they had going on. But the dishwasher has a gasket down the side which slid down and got bent. So we contacted Setzers and told them, and they contacted Viking. It was really strange though. They sent us a note saying that someone was gonna come out and I thought it was crazy. They were coming out to put a gasket on, which was something that I feel like we could do. But okay. They could do whatever they wanted to do. But when the guy came from Viking, his work order said that we had a gas leak and that was why they came. It was really strange. I told him we didnt have a gas leak and that we just needed the plastic gasket piece. He said he he was gonna order it but it’s been three weeks and we still haven’t gotten it. So I probably need to check on it. That aside, he was super nice and really helpful. He even showed us a few things about the stove that we didn’t realize it could do. And even with that, I would absolutely recommend Viking. It has always been my husband’s dream stove. He’s a builder and when he would build upscale houses, they always seemed to have Viking appliances. So when we were building our house, that was his thing. If it was possible, he really wanted the huge six-burner Viking stove. Viking is definitely a pricier stove but it’s worth the money. The quality is good, and the unit is beautiful and substantial. We love it, particularly the six burners on the cooktop. You can have plenty of things going at one time, and that makes it easy.

I had a Viking range that lasted for 18 years, which was great. When we replaced all our appliances, we stayed with the whole Viking line, ‘cause we got a discount. They included the refrigerator if you bought the range. However, when they plugged the refrigerator that they installed, it didn’t work. It didn’t even come on. Then we got into a little argument with the guy and told him that they gotta take the refrigerator out if it doesn’t work because P.C. Richard, where we bought it, said that they should not leave it there. But they made good and they came back the next day with another refrigerator. At the same time, the range didn’t work either. I had gotten into a big argument with Viking headquarters and P.C. Richard that the range doesn’t work and they didn’t believe me so I had to wait a couple of days to get a Viking repair guy to confirm that it wasn’t working. Then, I had to wait four days for them to take the range out of my house and bring a new range. Also, theres a minor issue with the dishwasher. So, overall, the appliance purchase was a very bad experience because the guys were in my house installing everything half of the day and I gotta wait for them. We wasted five days on the whole process. Moreover, they have a Viking pots and pans set, which is $500, and I told them that they should send me a gift certificate for all the hassle that I just went through, but I never heard anything back. Lastly, the customer service reps at Viking knew everything that was going on but no one from them ever got back to me even though they told me I had to keep going to the retailer, and that was a nightmare because of the way P.C. Richard set up with inventory. Given my feelings with Viking, I have mixed emotions about recommending their products.

Viking was high end, but cheaper than Wolf. Also, its relatively easier to clean than a Thermador. But Vikings quality is mediocre. If youre deciding between a Wolf and a Viking, you should spend the money and get a Wolf. But if youre deciding between if you want to go high end or low end, Id get the Viking because it is a nice brand. Everyone mentions it when they come in the house. The supplier that I bought the range from was amazing. They were so great in working with Viking to make sure I was under warranty.

One of the selling points of the house for my wife and I was that it had Viking appliances in it. Viking has an excellent reputation and it would be my choice. They look so beautiful and they work so well, so were very happy with them. We like the quality too, however, were having a problem with one of the burners. Weve sent in the registration paperwork and took the numbers right off of the appliances. We have to go through our building contractor since its under the one-year house warranty. They are supposed to be contacting Viking to set up an appointment for them to come out and look at the Viking cooktop and see what the problem is. Another issue we encountered was with the registration. We were told everything is verified except for either the microwave or the stove. Other than that we always recommend Viking.

I am extremely frustrated with my viking appliances. We saved a long time to purchase the best I thought at the time to be viking. I purchased the microwave, dishwasher, and range. From the very first month I had nothing but problems!! I have never been able to use the stove. It had to be repaired from day one. Cant bake cookies - one side is done, the other burnt. What is sad is that I a have brand new stove and cant use it. Last Thanksgiving I had a half done turkey with 20 people waiting to eat dinner. This is after it was repaired for the 5th time. Now it is Thanksgiving again and I cant use my brand new stove and have to go rent one because my Stove is not working again. The repairman informed me that the part had to be back ordered. Are they Kidding!! With a company their size and how expensive their unusable appliances are, you would think they would have a little replacement part that they could fed-ex the next day especially when they know it is close to a holiday, especially Thanksgiving. The microwave didnt work either and had to be replaced and it still doesnt work, it continually kicks a breaker. We have lived in our house 20 years and never had a breaker problem with our old microwave. Also the knobs on the front of the stove are a fire hazard, if someone even brushes up against them they will turn on. Afraid for the kids.. I would like to take my overly expensive VIKING APPLIANCES that are nothing but junk straight to the city dump. I would NEVER purchase anything that is VIKING again!

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.
