I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. DO NOT BUY VIKING APPLIANCES. You will regret it.

My wife was looking at different brands and she was a fan. Thats why we started looking for Viking. The quality is impressive. We bought more than just the refrigerator. We bought a suite. However, the ice machine doesnt seem like its of a high quality. Its noisy and clunky. Everything else though seems to be quite good. It has a nice interior and has a lot of space in it.

My 3-yr-old Viking refrigerator RDDFF236SS stopped cooling on Oct. 20, 2015. We lost everything in the fridge and freezer. I have discovered online that countless people have had this same thing happen with this same model. Our local repair person told me its the compressor and other sealed parts, so I had to go directly to Viking. The Viking authorized repair shop cant come out until Oct. 28!Like others in reviews Ive read with the same problem, we are camping in our own home with camp coolers and daily runs for ice. If the repair person cant fix it on the visit tomorrow, Im contacting Viking again to request they buy back this lemon, which I had to do with our Viking stove a year ago, after the oven failed three times, two of those on successive Thanksgiving Eves -- not the holiday tradition I want. I finally insisted, on the third failure, that they buy the stove back at full price, which they grudgingly did after many, many phone calls. Now I have a Wolf range and couldnt be happier. I will never recommend Viking to anyone -- in fact, I actively tell people not to buy Viking. (I do want to say that the people at the authorized repair shop couldnt have been nicer about the Viking stove each time they had to come out.)

Easy to use controls, great lighting, good space utilization and temperature controls, i.e. overall excellent appliance, but freezer could be more spacious and I dont understand why such an expensive model does not include an automatic ice and water dispenser.

I have a full Viking kitchen and Im not enjoying the customer service that comes along with my purchase. They only have a two-year warranty on that stuff, which is fine. Thats their policy and they can do whatever they want. In the grand scheme of everything, I called Viking because my wife and I, we cook a lot and we really use our professional kitchen as it should. At first, I went to register online with Viking and I was able to register one item. Then it said to call customer service. So I called customer service, and took photos of all the items as well as their serial numbers. I got an email back saying theyre registered and theyre all out of warranty. I thought that was impossible since we just bought them. I was very frank with them and I explained it through the email. I also spoke with three different people. At first, someone from customer service said they could make an exception here. Then it went to someone else until finally, someone said its their policy and they dont do that. It was the most cold email Ive ever received from a company and I couldnt believe this. Now, screws are popping out of my oven and I dont know where theyre coming from.

Viking was high end, but cheaper than Wolf. Also, its relatively easier to clean than a Thermador. But Vikings quality is mediocre. If youre deciding between a Wolf and a Viking, you should spend the money and get a Wolf. But if youre deciding between if you want to go high end or low end, Id get the Viking because it is a nice brand. Everyone mentions it when they come in the house. The supplier that I bought the range from was amazing. They were so great in working with Viking to make sure I was under warranty.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. Weve been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what were used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didnt clean as much as we thought. We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. I called at 9:00 and I chose mountain time because we live in Colorado, and they said that they were closed, but it was almost nine oclock and I havent heard anything back. They have not returned my phone call, too.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss
Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.

I had a Viking at my previous home. I just like their product and the commercial aspect of it. The first one I had was the open burner kind of thing and all steel. With the new range, I like the way it cooks and the little LED light thing thats underneath that you can actually see the knobs that illuminate it. Compared to the old range I had that had a softer side and could easily be scratched at the back, this new one has a softer cushion and it doesnt mark like the first. The only shortcoming was my experience with the Viking dealer. I like the range and if I had just gotten it from someone else, it would have been a whole lot better. Everything did not happen like it was supposed to. The salesperson neglected to schedule the installers so I had appliances sitting in my kitchen for three days uninstalled. I went to that store so many times prior to them doing the delivery because I had such a bad feeling it wasn’t going to go right and I was right. But theyre the only game in town and I was trying to buy local instead of ordering it on the internet.

Viking has always been one of our top few favorites and with our particular remodel, we were looking for more of a high-end like commercial package which narrowed things down to a few different ones. The quality of Vikings refrigeration system is great. Every aspect of it comes across as very high-quality and very well-made so the whole package is impressive. Overall, we’re very impressed with Viking and I would highly recommend it.

When I walked into the showroom, I saw this Viking refrigerator and I liked the look of it. Viking has a good name too. When I made the purchase, the reps I dealt with were good and helpful. Ive had my Viking refrigerator for about three weeks now and I like it overall. However, there are some things I have some issues with. The refrigerator is so-called commercial and the compressors are a little louder than I would have expected. Also, the ice bin is trash. There are major problems with it. For one, there is a lower side in the back so when the ice fills up and you pull the ice bin out, the ice falls into the track. When you try to close it, the ice gets crushed in there and you have a hard time closing it. The ice bin also leaks so it freezes over the wires that are underneath the ice bin. At some point, that is probably gonna be an issue. Another issue is the toe kick although its not a big deal. They just didnt put it on yet and I cant figure out how to do it. On the other hand, I like the pizza box holder at the bottom. And although I didnt like these at first, I now like the automatic closing doors, as well as all the meat and vegetable compartments. It is also very bright inside the refrigerator. I like the lights.

I owned a 48-inch Thermador that we bought 20 years ago. Some of the burners were going out, and so we started researching for a new one. I bought my Viking range on the 27th of July. When I got my range, I never got a manual. I called and spoke with a gal. She told me I could download it. Its like 30 something pages. I paid $12,000 for a range and theyre telling me I need to download 30 something pages for me to have a manual? After fighting with me, she said she would have someone send me a manual. But Ive never received a manual. I like my range though and I definitely like it better than my Thermador. Its easier to clean too.

My Viking refrigerator and dishwasher are just over four years old. We have had constant problems with the fridge beginning within a year of purchase. Ice maker replaced twice, unit not cooling, plastic cracking, doors not sealing. We have had the entire unit replaced, since then the ice maker is still working but the plastic is cracking again on the covers to the butter storage. The dishwasher has been repaired at least twice, once due to a fire hazard recall. Now it doesnt dry the dishes and needs repair again. In over 30 years of homeownership I have owned several homes with other appliance brands at much lower cost - have never had any single appliance come even close to having major issues such as this. When I paid top dollar for professional appliances I never expected this low level of quality.

Replaced an existing 36 built in Viking with the same size ($7700.00). Didnt want to repair the wood molding to fit a non-built in unit. One year, both Crisper drawers (middle shelves) are cracked in front. Both have vertical cracks in the middle of the drawers. Doesnt affect the operation, but it is at eye-level to remind you every time you open the door. I did save the shelves/drawers from the old removed Viking unit. Unfortunately, I only have one spare shelf left because the Wife has sold my spares to other unfortunate Viking Customers. Oh, and the same issue as everyone else with the Ice Maker; if you dont monitor the amount in the bin and shut-off the arm, every time you open the freezer door ice falls out the bin into the back of the freezer. Doubt I will purchase $180.00 drawers because of cracks.

Were contractors who do high-end kitchen and bathroom remodeling and we used Viking on projects. We were going to get a Thermador for the price difference, but the Viking rep thought it would be beneficial to their company to give us a heck of a deal on their product to put the Viking in. In the end, it came in the same price as the Thermador. Plus the Viking dealer was perfect and the rep was super, so we went with them. But there were a couple of drawbacks. Viking used these drill bit screws that stripped if you tighten them too much. So the door has a couple of stripped screws and it rattles too, so I replaced them with larger sheet metal screws. So one of the people in the assembly line overtightened and its stupid. Its nothing I cant fix, but for its value, I shouldnt have to. Viking is made in Mississippi and its very important to me its made in the US. But Im shocked that Viking uses a Broan motor. The motor in ours was brand new but it lasted only 10 minutes and Im still waiting for the replacement. If I had known Viking had a Broan motor, I wouldnt have bought it. The quality of Viking over Thermador is really nice but Broan motors are garbage. Also, the only thing weve used is the burners, but were still waiting for the guy to adjust them. My wife likes the little window in the range, though.Viking looks beautiful and I know the issue with the parts is going to get taken care of but its been a long time. I called the dealer and I asked where the parts were at. He told me it was kind of difficult. If I was Viking, Id get the customer a new motor and ask him not to slam us. In our line of work, we deal with all these high end people and Thermador knocks the teeth out of Viking for sales.

We at Hickam Communities is a military housing community. When I talked to the residents on Friday afternoon, the Viking refrigerator was installed Thursday. They are very happy that it worked and everything is working properly. I talked to Kevin, the director of the installation, and we love working with him and his team. He’s very punctual, he understands the needs that we have being a military community. Its amazing. I was also gonna follow up with him and let him know that we didn’t have any issues this weekend with the refrigerator and that everything’s been good. Having the Viking team and Ferguson for the installation has been incredible. We’ve changed the time on the last minute and everybody has been super accommodating. We couldn’t have picked a better installation team and company to get the refrigerator from.

In my last home that I built, we put a Viking range and a hood in it. I did research on it at the time and it was one of the highest rated in Consumer Reports. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. There should be a safety locking device on it for children.

I had my Viking range delivered a month ago. However, Ive been disappointed. It was a new purchase and new installation. I have a double door 48-inch range and they werent level. And then there was a crack with the interior of one of the ovens, and the main oven has stopped working when I was getting my range replaced. It doesnt heat up and I dont know if that is installation or bad switching. The small oven works fine, but the big oven does not work at all. I went on record with the company that I bought the appliance with just to say that I know its getting swapped out but I havent done anything to it. I had used it twice. Also, Ive been forever delayed on getting a griddle cover. I have to think its coming soon but its been on perpetual back order with Viking and right now it looks like a margarined, ugly griddle. I just wanna get the cover. I wanna like it. I want it replaced. I dont wanna have to call anybody on it again and hopefully well never speak again. I hope its not an indicator of any sort of change thats happened to Viking because I did have a range in a previous home and I loved it so much. I had not a single problem with it and I wanted to go back to it again.Their people have been very responsive. There has been many cooks in the kitchen in my liking and I cant keep up with whos doing what, but I appreciate the calls. I wanna get the range replaced but the installation of the new one has been pushed back again which bugged me because that was another weekend of no real sizeable oven. Also, I have small children so its a pain in the behind but I just wanna have it done and over with. I picked Viking over some of the other premium lines and I wanna stay with it but I wanna get it right this time.

Purchased 2 Viking ovens in 2012, stopped work properly in about 10 months. Called Viking for service, found out Viking only warranty is for 6 months. Had a repair person come out, he said the parts would be around $500.00 for each main control boards to fix the problem. Tried using only the convection functions to do most of baking for several years. I did this only because I did not want to spend an additional $1,000. on these damn ovens. Now, the convection is out, called back repair, when everything is completely fixed on both ovens, we are looking at $1,600.00. I think Viking is truly an awful brand, they do not stand behind their products and part are expensive. Buyer beware!

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. I had a Wolf and a Sub-Zero. We moved from out of state and they have a Viking stove in the house. Ive heard some good things about the Viking. Since I have a Viking stove, I got the refrigerator as well. However, Im very disappointed with the refrigerator because it was only three months old and one of the blades of one of the fans inside was already broken and another fan wasnt hooked up in the bottom. I had water dripping from the door on my fourth floor. For a brand new refrigerator and for what we paid for, that was not acceptable. I’m sorry to say that this $7000+ refrigerator is the biggest piece of crap I ever owned as an appliance. I spent $1000 for custom panels too when I bought it in 2009 for my kitchen remodel. I was looking for higher end appliances, so we decided to go with Viking and have had nothing but problems. The refrigerators doors had a crack in it. The doors were not aligned. The freezer is always kind of opening and not sealing properly. Its a bit noisy. Then there was indenting, and this is the second time it happened in the fridge. I dont know why. I realized I have an extended 10-year warranty with PC Richard so I had the guy come out again, and he said he had to order a bunch of parts, and he placed the order. I hope that is being handled. As far as my range, its horrible. Im always having trouble. It is a very high-end stove that the burners half the time arent working. Its not holding the proper temperature inside. I feel like its a limit. I would put it on 400 but it only went to 300. Viking replaced the burners a couple of times. They come and fix it, but it reoccurs. Theres something wrong with the actual range itself. And then, when I called Viking because of everything that happened to have it serviced again because they canceled my last service due to the COVID, they told me Im out of warranty now. But its the same problem Ive been having since I got the range. Ive called in again but nobody has gotten back to me. They were supposed to push it up to management. We learned about Viking from a friend and she told us that there was this Viking refrigerator on sale, so we went and purchased it. We were in the middle of building a house and decided to go with the range and the dishwasher after that. We had to get a contractor to put in the dishwasher and after he put it in, the seal that sealed the door of the dishwasher when you run it had been flipped over or creased, but he was able to unfold it and he tried to work it back. Then, the icemaker on the refrigerator never worked, and we’ve got water lines coming to it. The guy seemed to think the whole icemaker was bad or there’s a solenoid or a switch that could be out.We also have two eyes on the range that havent worked. One wouldn’t ignite at all, while the other ignited 20% of the time. When the appliance people came out to look at them, they had to order the parts and I needed to call Viking in order to see if I can get that under warranty. It was brand new when we got it. At that price range and for the quality, we were expecting a bit more attention to detail and less issues, especially not have something wrong with all three of them. Still, we like them. I got the same model but a year newer. They had the rollers on it where mine didnt. I used it for six months but the oven quit working. It was repaired twice, but what they decided after the second time was that it needed what I call a torpedo fan that would come on when the oven got hot and blow on this little electronic part that kept dying. It was repaired once after they put the fan on and in June of last year it died again. After about a year and a half, the store that was sending a repairman to me from Pennsylvania went out of business and all of a sudden I didnt have a repairman that could come. So Viking made arrangements with Bridgeville Appliance in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to come and service. Each time that I had a service, I called up and then in two weeks the guy had come and sometimes hed have to order a part. The guy came from 15 miles away and when he looked at the stove, he had no idea how to attack it. I dont know whether they paid the guy or not but it was under a warranty. When the second oven died last June I told them, I absolutely wanted my money back and they did not offer me that. I told them, I do not want the same model. Ive had two and neither ones worked. They then emailed me and I talked to somebody in Mississippi. They finally put me over to somebody who offered me four models. I told them, I would be willing to pay a normal fee to upgrade but I wasnt going to pay the full price. I chose a gas top with electric oven and it was finally installed last December. So its been six months without an oven. Right now, the oven is still working but I havent used it a whole lot because Ive kind of got away from using it. But Its been almost three years playing with this.Viking honored their warranty but the first product I bought was not even self-cleaning. It was a basic stove and I dont think they had enough installation around the oven to protect that because that electronic part sat on top of the oven underneath the burners. And when they had to repair, they took the top off, different repairman did different things. After four or five repairs, you get a little disgusted. They kept telling me that I was the only one who had the part was dying. But that didnt make sense. There should have been a recall. When they put that little torpedo fan blowing on, I could hear the little fan go on.When they brought this last oven, there was a $6,900 and some dollar price tag on it and I only paid about $4,000 for the first one. So, they really upgraded me. Ive got really good service with the repair, except sometimes, getting someone here took a time. Each time the oven broke down, I had at least a month or six weeks without an oven. I was more without than I was with an oven. So I would not recommend this product.

Viking Refrigerator is a higher end product. It’s a good appliance. There was a slight beneficial discount for the Viking at the time we purchased it even though it was more money than some other appliances. I haven’t had a problem with it other than a drawer breaking, and they sent us a replacement. I called Viking and they said to make sure the appliances are registered. So, they registered, and once they were registered, they were gonna send somebody out. I couldn’t believe they were gonna do that. When they realized it was just a drawer, they just sent the drawer. The process was easy. I like all the features of the refrigerator. One feature is kinda interesting. They made it so you can put a full-sized pizza on the bottom of it, which is pretty cool because you always have a problem with the box of the pizza. Also, the dealer, Pacific Appliances at Best Buy was great.

When we bought the house, the owner bought all Viking appliances but have never used it. When we came here in the house, everything was brand new. We have the Viking refrigerator for three years now and it is a good quality appliance. But I was surprised that within those years, there was some water leaking from the freezer and then the refrigerator was broken. But the Viking team was very helpful and someone came here and fixed it. Other than we have to have the service, its door has more spaces compared to other refrigerators and they have a bunch of options. And we can also cool fast with it.

We were looking for a new refrigerator and I looked online and found out that Viking was the leader in kitchen appliances but nobody seemed to really know anything about their refrigeration. Then we went to a couple of places here in town, I researched it on their website and we fell in love with their ref so, we ordered it. This is my first Viking appliance. I had heard of Viking in the restaurant business and people seemed to be impressed. The quality of the product is excellent. The space is perfect. For the size that it is, it holds a lot of food and were really happy. When we build the new house, Ill probably buy two Viking refrigerators. The only problem we had, and this seems to be not specific to Viking, were the people. We like trying the new things on the market but things that last, and so, we were very pleased with this purchase. But the salespeople werent prepared. Theres more of a market here in San Diego but their salespeople just werent ready to sell it. Either they were too busy or weren’t educated. When we find something that we want, we usually are more educated than the sales people and that seems to be the case with their people. Its something that could still be improved.

In our old place, we had Wolf and we really liked it. When we moved, the new house had a Viking stove. We looked into changing the stove to a Wolf, but my husband did some research and realized that Viking is a really good, reputable brand. When we looked at the appliance store, we saw the fridge. Then we also got the dishwasher and the steam oven just because everything needed to match for my husband. We’ve had them for a couple of months and so far they’ve been good. We like the refrigerators different controls and the compartments. The only thing that would be of benefit to us is having the water in it. But otherwise, we’re extremely happy and satisfied with Viking.

Ive always had Viking in every appliance in my house. But when my refrigerator stopped all the way out, the technicians kept coming out to fix it. They came, looked at the problem and then they had to go back to get a part. I had to wait for another two to four weeks for it to come down to put in. And then another couple of weeks later, the refrigerator would quit again. So then, they had to come back two weeks later. They were down to replacing everything. Despite that, the technicians were great and I had no problems once they came out. It was just not getting the part that dragged it out because they only service my part of the town every two weeks. But when my husband stepped in, Viking finally gave me a new refrigerator. I was very disappointed that it took me probably half a year to get this issue resolved. It was my mistake and looking back, I probably wouldnt do Viking again even though they finally gave me a new refrigerator. I understand that they have to try to get it fixed but they should have done that instead of waiting for my husband to interfere and that he had to contact one of the bigwigs of Viking.

We had to replace our former slide-in in a rush because we were expecting holiday cooking soon. We purchased a Viking D3 after glowing reviews by our saleswoman. But the D3 has never worked right including a month after we purchased it. We had to cook the holiday turkey in the microwave, one part of the bird at a time. After contacting Viking, they sent out a certified repairman who had to order a part from Viking to make the oven usable. That took two weeks. From then on, the temps seemed to be accurate (we had to buy a hanging oven thermometer to tell), but the oven took forever to heat up. Even then, we couldnt cook anything then or now other than one item at a time and have it cook in the desired time. There are three racks in the oven... the instructions even show and explain how to cook using the three racks at once. However, the oven temps will not support using all three racks. We are also dissatisfied with the five upper burners. The center burner can only be used if the cooking pot/skillet is smaller than the large burner size indicates IF you are trying to use the other four surrounding burners simultaneously. You either use the four outside burners OR you use the large center one, but not all five at once due to size of the cooking containers. I am so disappointed. I wish I had purchased a low-end quality stove. This one sure isnt it. DO NOT BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!!!!!

Its reliable and good. We had to call in an issue a couple of weeks ago but it turned out to be the electrical system in our house and not the actual range itself.

Back in November, we bought a refrigerator and a stove. I got a GE profile then and it didnt work. The part was back ordered so they brought out another one and it had the exact same problem. So I went to look for more stoves but then I didnt like all the electronic crap. Every time I leaned up against the front of the stove, it would go crazy because of all the electronics. All I wanted was an old fashioned stove that bakes but looked updated. I looked at other stoves and I didnt like them. When went online and read about Viking in Consumer Reports, it was the only oven that people said worked. I hated to spend the next $2,300 that I didnt have, but I didnt want an oven that I couldnt use. So I got a Viking.I thought my Viking Range was gonna be spectacular. But then its not and Im a little disappointed. When their guys delivered it, the bottom panel just above the legs wasnt secured. I pushed on the upper corner thinking I could just push it in and that didnt work. So, the delivery guy came and he had to screw it in. He then told me that I had dented it with my finger pushing on the corner. I told him I didnt think so but he made me sign off on something that said that was so. After he left, I saw that there were dents on the other side in the same place I hadnt touched. I dont know where those dents came from, but I didnt do either one of them. So I called and had to ask for a new bottom panel. Their reps said that in the first week, they replace anything. Since then, Ive been liking the range pretty well. However, it doesnt bake as well as I thought it would, it being that expensive of an oven. I had previously traded my GE in because I had so many problems with it. I thought that because my new oven was a Viking, it was gonna be better than it is. Its hard to see through the dark window and even when you have the light on in the oven. Its hard to see whats going on. It seems to take longer to cook than I thought it would. Furthermore, I dont notice a lot of differences between the convection oven feature and just the bake feature. I dont know if I like the grill either as I thought it was gonna be thicker. Sometimes, when I put a heavy pot on it, it seems like its not real sturdy and I dont know how itll hold up over time. The grills are not as heavy as those on some of the other ones which is something I like because it was awkward to pull those heavier things off. Also, Im not too wild about my Viking being up on legs but then Im getting used to it. Still, I like the stove really well. I like that you can simmer on it. However, when its pre-heating, it buzzes sometimes and it sounds like something in the back is vibrating. When that happens, I can hear the fan which is kind of loud but then it goes on only for a few seconds every once in a while. I also like the black background and the black liner underneath the burners as it is fairly easy to keep clean. I like the controls too. This is in contrast to the stainless steel on the GE profile as I couldnt keep that clean. I also like the look and the slide in. But then, Im gonna have to get my gas outlet and have a plumber put it at a different point that is lower to the ground. My range sticks away from the wall so doing that would allow it to sit up against the wall. Though maybe Viking is still working out the bugs with their range as they havent been making these for very long, I thought from their reputation that my Viking was gonna be a little different. Still, Im pretty happy overall.

I bought a refrigerator and a freezer from Viking Refrigerators because of their reputation. My favorite feature is the built-in lock. However, Im not satisfied with them because of the issues that were having and theyre coming tomorrow to fix them. The drain at the bottom of the refrigerator doesn’t drain correctly so it fills up with water inside below the meat compartment and sometimes it runs onto the floor. On the freezer, were having an issue with the icemaker. The service was the only contact I had with them. Our conversation went fine but the only problem was that Im in a rural area. I had to wait six weeks for them to come over to where this was located to do service. That part has been a bit of a hassle. It was frustrating just because of the service issue.

Eight years ago, we remodeled our kitchen and purchased four Viking appliances - two wall ovens, an eight-burner gas range and a microwave. We spent in excess of $10,000 on these products with the expectation of high quality and the hope that they would be life-time investments. All still function well and we have had no problems up until now.Approximately 3 months ago the lettering and numbering on the oven control panels began to come off. I contacted Viking regarding this issue and was informed that I would need to purchase new control panels at a cost of over $100 each plus the cost of installation. Not only is the problem disappointing, Im even more disappointed in the complete lack of customer care or support demonstrated by Viking. I was unable to speak directly to a Viking customer support representative, instead was directed to a regional supplier who was less than engaged or helpful. The Viking call center is a maze of transfers and the corporate office phone number listed on the web site is simply a number that directs you to the same maze of transfers and select-an-options. Viking manufactures a good product and should stand behind it with stellar customer service and support. Numbers/letters rubbing off on a product meant to last a life-time is unacceptable and Viking should be willing to rectify the problem with minimal inconvenience and cost to their customer.I suggest Viking review the customer service/support policies of other high-end home product manufacturers and implement some of their strategies. In particular I mention Kohler. We are also experiencing a minor issue with a faucet we purchased during our kitchen renovation. Upon contacting Kohler, I spoke directly to a representative who immediately placed the order for the replacement part. It is being shipped directly to me at no charge. Companies who market themselves as offering high-quality products to discriminating customers should stand behind their products no matter how large or small the issue may be.

I’ve been having a lot of trouble recently with our Viking Refrigerator and it’s been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I liked the great arrangement design in the freezer and that it had a three-year warranty. But, the freezer leaks water onto the floor, which then pools under the fridge and then leaks into my basement. I have to get in there every week and break up the ice at the bottom of the freezer so it doesn’t break the seal. I sent an email to Viking several weeks ago and I was in touch with somebody there and we have emails back and forth. I opened up a service ticket about three months ago and I’m only now starting the service process since it wasn’t until this week that I actually got confirmation. They have a local appliance service person coming out and I’ve scheduled an appointment with them.

My wife and I perceived the Viking refrigerator as high quality just by certification. We like the look of it as well as the configuration with the door freezer and double open top. We also wanted to get a matching set for we did a remodeling in our kitchen. So far, we really like it but theres one thing that kind of drives me crazy, and its in the minor side. On the freezer, when you open that the big drawer down below, it has an ice maker, and you pull it out. The way the ice is dumped it into the tray and it builds up, about every fourth time, it pushes the ice behind and comes on the floor. But if I open it slowly, reach back, and try to move the ice, it doesnt happen. But sometimes, I forget. The other thing that weve experienced, and I dont know that its the refrigerators fault, is that if our power goes out or trips, then the power comes back on again, the refrigerator doesnt automatically come back on. That could be bad and we initially had a problem when we first got the refrigerator. Aside from that, sometimes we spend a couple of weeks away from the house. Were trying to figure out if theres a way I could get a beeper on my panel or something that would tell me that the fridge is off. But I want it to just automatically cycle back on when the power comes back on.Also, I wish they can come up with something a little better and easier to remove than that plastic coating that they put on it to protect it during transportation. Its really a great idea to have that protective plastic but it is a royal pain to remove it for installations. Other than that, I feel like we got good value on the Viking refrigerator, so Im pretty happy.

Our refrigerator is very convenient, large, and has good quality. The only thing I dont like about it is that adjusting the temperature, which is two little controls up on the top, is not very clear and it doesnt read out the exact temperature, just has these little bars. So, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to use it, how to set it, and get it to the right temperatures. At the very bottom, it freezes up and the water gets into the drain in the back on the bottom and we once had to thaw it out ourselves. Another time, we had to call a repair person cause there was no way for us to do it. If only they have as many other refrigerators have where you set the temperature and it shows you what its set for and what its actually reading, and I would make sure that they have improved the heating unit that would prevent the drain in the freezer from freezing.

We purchased a brand new house in March and because of COVID, we only moved our things in and we just stayed at our other home in the woods for a couple of months. When I went to use the dishwasher in May, it didnt work. I called for a service call, and each time that I would call, it would be a month-long wait. I had my three adult children here for a little while, and working from home, it was three meals a day. I would call Viking and leave messages and people wouldn’t call me back. When someone came, they said they fixed it and left. I started the dishwasher that night, and it did not work. That was on a Friday.I called again on a Monday and the service department was supposed to be contacted or they would come contact us. That took another month and then that fix also did not work. After that, it was more calls and more waiting at least a month for having an appointment. The whole process went on for many months and I was really frustrated. I never had one working here until this last visit a couple weeks ago and all I can say is it’s repaired now. For my other home where I have an old Viking dishwasher that needs to be replaced now after 20 years, its not gonna be Viking.

I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts take WEEKS to get. And when they do arrive they dont always work. I have had my Viking range since 2006. In the beginning we had to have the ignitor switches replaced. I believe it was under warranty at the time. The smoke eliminator fell out of the larger oven but it is very difficult for the homeowner to replace as the heating element covers the area where the casing of the smoke eliminator and I do not feel comfortable removing the heating element. Another issue that we have had is the self-cleaning on the small oven stopped working. I have since figured the issue out that the door wasnt closing enough for the self-clean to work. I now need to push the door tightly closed until the self-cleaning function kicks in.Now comes my biggest issue. On the morning of December 25, 2016, I cooked a breakfast casserole in the larger oven. Later in the morning I went to put the turkey in the larger oven to find that there was no heat. The fan continued to run but neither the broiler or bake element would work. I called one of the two certified Viking specialists in my area. They couldnt come out until December 29. Once they arrived they called Viking who told them that I needed a new circuit board. I had issues with getting in touch with the Viking recommended Mr. Appliance after I put down a 50% deposit and was forced to call another Viking recommended certified appliance repair company. The second company called Viking Range and ordered the parts that were needed for the repair. It took 3 weeks to get the parts because they were in production. The parts finally came in and the repair guy came out to the house, put the part in... it didnt work. The circuit board was faulty. He then tried to move the small oven circuit board to the larger oven and it shorted because once he tried to put it back into the small oven it didnt work.So now I sit here on February 20, 2017, almost TWO MONTHS LATER, with no oven at all (it was difficult only having access to an oven that only holds a 9x13 pan) and no stove top (one of the repair guys told us that we had to disconnect the gas in order to repair so we had to hire a plumber to come out to disconnect the gas for the low low price of $130. That was done on 1/3/17). I have since had to purchase a countertop burner because I am assuming these parts will take weeks to get. Every Appliance Repair company complains about how hard it is to get in touch with Viking Range. I am fed up with Viking Range and will never recommend their products to anyone, especially for the price.UPDATED ON 04/07/2017: I continue to stand by my stance on NOT purchasing Viking products. It took close to $1700!!! (Over $1200 was for parts alone - several that werent needed had Viking been able to figure out what was wrong with the oven) and close to THREE AND A HALF MONTHS TO FIX my range. First due to the fact that circuit boards are manufactured by different companies and thus are not made the same so they need to be rewired to adapt to your oven. Second, parts take a long time to get. 2-3 weeks was the average time it took to get my parts. Third, Viking has a problem figuring out what is wrong with their OWN product.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

We purchased it at Ferguson in Scottsdale and the gal who helped us there, Veronica, was very knowledgeable and she had great suggestions. Also, she knew what she was doing and I appreciated her input on appliances. I had a Sub-Zero one time, which I hated and I tore it up. On the contrary, I love my Viking refrigerator and the freezer. I love that my Viking is big and so spacious, and I like the soft-close drawers in the refrigerator.

I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!

Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I regret buying a Viking Dishwasher (POS does not even have heated dry), Viking Range (delivered broken), Viking Microwave (over priced Kitchen Aid) and Viking D3 Fridge (Broken on Delivery). I have yet to get a customer service rep to call me back. No one is empowered to make a decision. I will be buying Wolf/SubZero next time.

We did a kitchen update through a local company here in Columbia called DKB Kitchen Design. As part of our package, we had originally purchased a GE refrigerator. We had real serious problems and couldnt get any satisfaction with the GE refrigerator. We went back to DKB and explained the problems we were having and documented it for them. They volunteered to take our problematic GE refrigerator back and trade for a Viking Refrigerator. The Viking refrigerator has been doing the job but if I had one issue to complain about, it’s the icemaker. I tell our guests not to put a glass under the icemaker because the ice comes out so hard that I’m afraid it’ll shatter the glass. I contacted Viking about that at first and I got some cryptic response about how we can have a serviceman come out and look at it. And I told them I don’t think a serviceman can change the design of the icemaker. But other than that, weve had it for a year now and weve never had service issues unlike with the last GE refrigerator. It also matches all the other Viking appliances that we have. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I recently purchased what I thought was a nice used fridge (Viking Designer Series Fridge DDFF136DSS0) from someone only to find out that it most likely has a bad motherboard. It doesnt cool at all and the display on the front shows nothing but a blue screen. The buttons dont do anything except for light up. After researching, apparently these motherboard controls have been failing a lot with these models and Viking charges $1,000 for a new control board. That is insane for something that is failing regularly. For that price and the repair, I might have to just go and buy a new fridge from a different company. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care that Viking has presented in the matter. This is a major problem with Vikings product and they do not care. I commented that I could buy a new fridge for the price of the part and the Viking agent laughed and said, I dont know why you think that, people say that all the time but you cant buy one from us at that price. It was rude. I am extremely disappointed. This was for my family but I am a home remodeller and will not be recommending Viking with this type of repair cost and horrible service.

In Dec. 2013, I began to have an issue with my Viking Dishwasher, purchased the previous March. It made a honking noise when changing cycles. I called Viking, got the name of their local authorized service company, and had that company come out. That was visit one. Need a part. Part ordered and service rep returns (Visit two). Dishwasher apparently repaired, but malfunctions the next time I used it - this time the audible warning beep wont stop. Call the repairman, who comes back and, you guessed it, needs to order a part (Visit three). When he returns and installs the part, the beep still wont stop, so apparently it is the wrong part (This completes visit four). Today he came for the fifth time and, you guessed it, apparently the part he replaced in one of the earlier visits is broken.Compounded the fact that I have been without a dishwasher for seven weeks is the terrible response I get when I try to contact Viking. The only time I was able to reach the company easily was in December. Since then, I am rerouted, given the wrong person, put on hold, etc. More important, apparently Viking has moved the consumer service warranty department to various locations, none of which have access to Vikings warranty records for its existing customers. I have given my serial number to three different Viking company reps over the course of my phone calls to the company, but apparently Viking either doesnt have a system that records this information or its system is not available to the reps assigned to handle customer warranty calls. Now this may make sense to someone, but that someone is not me. I do hope that my Viking fridge, range, and microwave, all purchased at the same time as the dishwasher, never malfunction. I certainly would not have bought any of these products if I had know how terrible the warranty customer interaction is.

We bought the double-door model and I really like it. Its working very well, has no issues, nice and quiet, all the compartments are useful, and its pretty. We originally had a Northland refrigerator and it had a single, swing-out door. We started looking for another ref and we decided to go with a ref with double doors. I opened every two-door, swing-out model and looked at the trays, shelves, drawers, and guides, and how well these were made and fitted. Compared to their competitors, Viking had the product with the best custom interior and guides for drawers and shelves, and they were hands down above all the other ones that we saw on the market. Also, our experience with the dealer was excellent. They do a nice job and we buy a lot of appliances from them. The ref we got from them is nice and we like it. It keeps our food cold and frozen the way its supposed to and everything is operating the way we expected, so were happy with it. We like the double doors too. Buy from Viking. I bought an electric, five-burner convection since I live in a townhome and were not allowed to have gas. Ive had the range for about two months now and so far, everything has been excellent. I went to a number of home shows when I was trying to build a house and talked to a Viking Refrigerators rep and a dealer. I went to about five more home shows and saw the same guys. I decided to make the purchase and so far theyre okay. However, it is not cold all the way. Sometimes the freezer ices up a bit. And then I had to make sure that ice is not stuck in the ice maker because ice won’t come out. The ref is great, but it’s having twerks. I reached out to Viking Refrigerators but they wanted me to register everything first and then call back. Also, the dealer was just all about the sale and after that, he kept having a follow-up and a follow-up. I wouldn’t use that dealer again. We liked the look of the Viking Ranges. We also liked the multiple burners and the size of the double oven. We knew what we wanted as we shopped, and we picked Viking out. Weve had a couple of problems, though, but it is covered by warranty because we built the house. We had to have it completely replaced once, because the main oven door wouldnt close and seal. The original dealer stopped carrying Viking, so we ended up having to get the replacement from another dealer. Because it was an all-new construction, the builder handled finding the other dealer, and he contacted them. They quoted all the same appliances and everything was smooth. The pricing wasn’t any different. It was just a matter of waiting for construction completion, and everything was here when we moved in. It didnt hold up construction. With the replacement, though, the two oven doors dont align. There’s an uneven gap, so it looks like somethings crooked. But theyre coming next week to try to get that fixed. Were hoping that its some adjustment that they can make and not another problem. Another thing is that it has all large burners. Theres nothing smaller for just a small pot to simmer something, so I’m always dealing with a larger wider diameter pot. But it’s a nice product, so far. Theyve been accommodating with the issues that weve had, so I would recommend it.

Viking had a floor model refrigerator that was at a good price. However, when I open the drawer where the ice bucket is in the freezer, 90% of the time, it kicks ice cubes underneath the basket of the freezer. I have to get down on my hands and knees and dig to get the ice cubes out. I cant close the freezer drawer until I get the ice cubes out. Also, that time, they were including an above-range convection microwave free with purchasing a range. However, the Viking dealer was a little slow to respond to things. She was very nice and pleasant but it could take her days to get back to me. So far, the range seems to be of good quality and the induction cooktop has been my favorite. But then, theres a defect in the left front corner of the stainless which was noted on the day of installation. Theres also a problem with the mechanism that I use to open the microwave. Its not level. Viking promptly got people out to look at the issues. Theyve ordered the parts but its been well over a month and none of my issues have been fixed. Furthermore, the front piece of the range needs to be replaced and its still on back order. Nevertheless, Vikings products are well made. I looked at some GE Cafe French drawer type refrigerators and the pullout drawers were very teeny. It felt very unsecure when I pulled it out. On the other hand, Vikings appliances seem like good heavy quality products.

We received our range and it was installed in our home. Everything worked fine for a day. Then, the oven stopped working. We called for a service technician to come out. They came out, did some adjustments, and nothing worked. He couldnt get it to fix so he said that we got to order new parts. I told him that it is a brand-new range and I asked why we need to order brand-new parts. So, it arrived faultily. The parts were back-ordered for probably a month. We spoke to our regional representative, trying to figure out what the holdup was. Of course, it was blamed on COVID and I understood that. Then the parts came and the service technician installed them. Everything was working when he was here. He left that evening. I went to make dinner and put a chicken in. An hour later, the oven was lukewarm. It didnt maintain its flame. The next morning, before I called them, I thought to see what was going on. It would go through its clicking cycle to ignite. It’s a liquid propane system. And we ordered the correct range. That morning, it went through its cooking cycle like it always does and didnt light. We tried it again and then a fireball came out the bottom of it. I called the technician and told them what happened. I also called our regional representative and told her what happened. The technician was busy and couldnt come out ‘til the next week. Then he came back out and looked at it. He called the Viking service line and went through all of the suggestions that they made. He could get the small oven to light, but could not get the bigger side to light, and now has ordered another part. I think its the igniter or something like that is not working. I just got a phone call this morning that were on the schedule two weeks from now to get it repaired. Right now, I’m not very happy. We can use the top, but we cant do anything in the oven. Its pretty frustrating, especially since this is supposed to be top-of-the-line. So, basically, we have a brand-new piece of metal sitting in our kitchen that we cant use to its full extent. The most frustrating thing is were not getting any discount or benefit. We tell our representatives whats going on. We even said that we wanted another one because what if something happens to this one again? I dont know why that wasnt offered, again, ‘cause its a brand-new thing and its faulty when it arrived. I understand its a big piece. Its not like something that I brought home in a bag. It involved shipping and people installing it. But were kind of stuck as a consumer. Our technician is great. Theyre highly recommended. It’s no fault of them. Its the product and these arent cheap. Essentially this thing is the price of a car.

We were looking at the Wolf, and it was out of my price range. And the only reason I looked at the Wolf is because of its name in the industry. When we went to the store, the gentleman pointed out that its not necessarily the best product on the market. Its just got a following and a name. It was my first time purchasing a gas stove and he showed us the Viking. He told us a little bit about it and the features, and it had a model that they were actually discontinuing and it was a really good deal and we picked it up.Even our renovator who installed it said, This is a really good oven, because of the way it cleans. The grill of Wolf is tight so its harder to clean. With Viking its so easy to just pick up the grill and wipe it and its done. I love the product. You can really control the heat and Ive never cooked with gas before. I was reluctant, but its a lot more controlled in the heat in how you cook so I like it.The rep was also really good and knowledgeable and not pushy when I first went. He educated me on this. So check out the product because the Wolf and the Sub-zeros got its name in the industry and then everybody wants one, but they don’t realize that theres this other product that are just as competitive and has better price points that are equally or if not, better.

Ten years ago, we saw Viking ranges when we did some other kitchen. We had bought a Samsung Dual Fuel and it was a month-old when it broke, so we sent it back. They brought us another one and that one broke too, so we decided not to go to Samsung anymore. We went out to look for a stove and where we had just remodeled our bathroom, they had a kitchen display for all their kitchen wares and were moving showroom, so all their kitchen stuff were on sale. The Viking Range was 50% off. It was $6,000 but we got it for $3,000. We were looking for a stove, so why not? Ive only had it a couple of months, but I like it. However, Im not crazy about how I cant get it to simmer low enough, and the blue light that clicks off and on, so I dont really ever know when the ovens preheated. Theres no bell that dings and says that its ready, so Im constantly looking at that light to see if it has preheated, and I wish there was. Also, I miss my drawer in the bottom where I kept all my cookie sheets and stuff, and the Viking Range doesnt have it. We had to take our microwave out and get a downdraft, and that was a bummer. It wasnt really a Viking dealer who sold it to me. It was a Fergusons Plumbing lady who did. On the other hand, one thing I do like about it real well, is the way the telescopic tray pulls out in the center.

I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. My wife and I liked the cabinetry that was in the house that we purchased except the refrigerator was a KitchenAid counter-depth. We wanted a new one but the cabinetry kinda limited us on the size because it has room for a 48-inch wide counter-depth refrigerator only. So, we went looking and KitchenAid Sub-Zero had a very solid name. Its made locally here in Chicago and it was a top consideration. However, their pricing wasn’t as favorable as the Viking which we felt had the same features and has as good a name as the Sub-Zero. So, we decided to go ahead with Viking because with them, we were able to save a little bit of additional money. Also, when we bought it, the original kitchen was done in white appliances and we decided we wanted to go with the stainless steel look to get a little more modern look. But it required a new built-in oven and a new refrigerator. And with the deal that was going on for the Viking, if you bought the oven and the refrigerator, you got a free dishwasher. So, that was another reason why the Viking brand stood out for us at the time.So far, its has a very solid refrigeration and it’s got a nice ventilation system that if there’s something that’s going bad, the whole refrigerator doesnt necessarily smell bad. It also has this great little spot on the bottom where you could put a pizza box which, with the depth of a refrigerator, is not an easy thing and it’s kinda out of the way. So, that’s a nice little feature. I like the style of the coolers as well and the fact that the drawers have an automatic soft close. So, Ive been pretty darn happy with our Viking refrigerator. We’d gone to Abt Electronics which is local here and he go-to place in Chicago. We ended up looking again online just to see what was available and found a place called the Appliance Connection. Theyre out in New York and they also sell very similar high-end appliances. And because of what the end process was gonna be, we ended up going with the Appliance Connection. It was over $1,000 that we were gonna be able to save by utilizing them as compared to using Abt. However, the delivery took over six weeks and when they delivered it, they sent two guys. But the refrigerator that we purchased weighs 500 pounds. It’s a heavy refrigerator and the two guys who delivered it said that they couldnt put in in our house. But we told them that we paid for it to go into our house. They ended up having to send another crew out three weeks later to finally get it into the house. It became a pretty big fiasco as far as we were concerned. Also, on the day that were supposed to come out, they said they were gonna be there then, apparently, their dispatch had given them a bad address or the one appointment took longer than it was supposed to, so they didn’t show on the day that they were supposed to come. All in all, I don’t think I’d ever buy from them again. But it was nothing that Viking had done. As a matter of fact, I went to Viking and complained about Appliance Connection being a reseller of their product and the next day, I was getting a manager’s call from the Appliance Connection to try and make things right. So, Viking did everything they could to try and make it as good as possible. Also, the refrigerator is in now as well as the oven. They are both great and Im very happy with them. Viking also has a great name in ranges and stoves and the double oven we got from them fit the spot. It works well and looks good. It’s very nice and phenomenal. The oven and the refrigerator are pretty close together and my wife didn’t want two different looks. She didnt want the handles to be off, for the color of the stainless steel to be slightly different, or even for the grain of the stainless steel to be slightly different. So, when you’ve decided that youre gonna go with that oven, it pushes you to go for the refrigerator as well.

So I moved into a new house 10 years ago it came with Viking appliances. I am a research rat and use unbiased information such as consumer reports. I wouldn’t have bought viking. They already had class action law suit issues In the past. Bad reliability scores etc. Its basically a brand name that should Say Viking = pay way more. Get way less. Our refrigerator breaks every 6 months like clock work. Our friends take bets on when it will break next. A fun game for them. Not so much for me. Their customer support is god awful and they don’t stand behind their product. So do some research and don’t buy Viking. For those who say mine works. I would say a blind squirrel occasionally also finds an acorn. Probably not the line you want to describe your 12 k fridge with.

From the beginning, the marker decals have been wearing off my oven and cooktop. Viking said they were screened on whatever that means. Now I have virtually not markers left on my oven temperatures. How could a company like Viking produce Mickey Mouse markings?

Ive known about Viking for years and they have always been a commercial line. My wife and I have always enjoyed cooking. We thought we would take a step up in quality so we got one. We are enjoying the Viking range. We had a different range for a few weeks but we decided to have a cast plate into our house. So I did that first then, I ordered the Viking range from the retailer inside Best Buy. We bought the 30 inch, which is the smallest one that Viking makes but it makes a heck of a difference in cooking. However, I wish we would have a larger space. We wanted to widen the kitchen, take some cabinets down and put in either 38 or the 42 but we just couldnt scrape up enough pennies because Viking is not a cheap stove. We also got the combination which we like because the oven is larger to do the cooking. The oven is electric and the top is gas so its really nice because the oven is all hidden and sealed. I also love the idea of the quick heating. It has the solid, medium and the consistent heating where you just set it and its awesome. Unlike when it’s electric, the heat is always coming off and on in order to maintain a certain temperature. Were really happy with the Viking range. We love the feature of the sealed burners as well. Its so easy to clean. The stainless steel takes fingerprints that bad but with just a couple of wipes, its all cleaned up. Viking range is beautiful but it’s not for someone who doesn’t cook that often or not a good cook. It’s an overbuy for them. But I would recommend it to anyone who has the enthusiasm that my wife and I have when it comes to cooking. We really appreciate it and we love it. Its worth every penny.

We have owned our Viking refrigerator for about 8 years, it has been an awful experience regarding appliance ownership having been serviced several times and still giving us fits regarding. Ice cubes fall out of the freezer when opened, the fan does not circulate properly and the circuit board has been advised we need to replace at a cost of $1,500+, more than half of what we paid. I will not purchase another Viking product for as long as I live!

We built a new home last year and we liked the Viking products that we’ve had in our other home. The quality of the refrigeration from Viking is great. The only thing that I have not liked about it is they’re not very deep, especially the shelves, because I was used to a deeper refrigerator. But it’s great as far as the performance. I have the Viking All Refrigerator and I like that our freezer is separate. Their team members were great and we ended up buying all of our appliances from Morrison in Midland, Texas and Kay there was absolutely wonderful.

Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line
Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.

Bought used in 1998. Still working great. Converted from natural gas to propane. Newer models have more precise temperature control, but I am happy with this old workhorse. It has a huge oven, stovetop has 4 burners plus a large griddle. Stove is 36 wide.

Ive always heard Viking was the best and Im happy with my Viking fridge. But Ive had to have it serviced a few times already. The fans inside keep freezing up. Ive had to have all the warranty work done twice already and I don’t even think Ive been in this house three years yet. The first time they came out, they had to replace the fans and the second time, all of them were frozen up. But the tech was able to service the fans and got it working again. Im also happy with the customer service that the guy that I bought the appliances from is giving me. He puts me right on top of the list, takes care of me and keeps me up and running again. It is a little bit of a disappointment. I paid almost $18,000 but the guys from Certified Appliance were good.
