Viking has been nothing but great for me. Ive had my oven for years and never did I have a problem. I definitely recommend these appliances for anyone and any kitchen!
After 20 years in our home, we finally were able to build my dream kitchen with Viking Professional appliances. Weve had multiple problems with the oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Both sides of the oven have broken and the igniters break from time-to-time, too. The repairman told me I wasnt turning it on properly. What? After calling him back several times, Viking finally agreed to replace it. The repairman tells me not to get the igniters wet. Ok, I got it. I dont do it. Its not me! The ice maker in the freezer is horrible. The water line freezes all the time. Weve replaced the ice maker, added something to the unit to keep the water circulating, and not the water overfills. What a freaking mess it makes. The dishwasher is the worst ever made. It may or may not turn off. The repairman says to open it and let it dry out. Ok, but that doesnt work either. I wont even use it anymore. Viking Professional is terrible and has ruined my dream kitchen. :(
Wow. Im glad I discovered this site. It is somewhat comforting to know that so many other people have been totally screwed by Viking CRAP. My $10,000.00 Professional refrigerator is a total joke. The produce drawers freeze everything. The inside is fragile plastic and replacing parts is a nightmare. I talked to a carpenter just today about re-configuring the cabinetry that the Viking Professional (48 X 83) is built into, and replacing it with a normal refrigerator designed for a home. I also bought a double Thermador oven and 48 cooktop. I like it, but was told by the store that the appliances were purchased from that when things start to break on the stove, I wont be able to replace any parts because Thermador has an aggressive obsolescence policy, and you cant get parts after 7 years.I will replace the cooktop with a Wolf cooktop when it finally stops working.
We have a Viking refrigerator and have had the repair person out several times to repair the many problems. I tried to get another repair person out here but they tell me I am in his area and no one else is to repair my refrigerator. This repair persons experience is a 1 from 1 to 10. I stopped calling him and started to repair the refrigerator myself and I have no training at all. I have replaced the strip across the top. I have replaced one of the thermistors and now I need to replace the other one. I have replaced the freezer fan, the refrigerator fan. The alarm is starting to go off at different times day and night. I have had water drain all over our wooden floor several times and its starting to show water stains now. I have had to take everything out of the Viking and put it in the GE in the garage. So, I can unplug the ice in the defroster outlet in the freezer. We have had several problems with our microwave, now the numbers will not show up and the part cost $210 dollars. I have put up with this problem for several months. It takes the oven a long time to heat up. I have spent several thousands of dollars on Viking products and what a bunch of ** their products are. The repair person that did come out said the Viking products keep him busy. He told me that he has less trouble with the GE Monogram and he thinks they are the best. Im about ready to take this refrigerator to the dump and get a GE.
Ive owned Viking Range products before in my previous home and the quality of the product is very good. Their ovens are also awesome.
I went to Barry’s Appliance in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and they had all different brands on there. I liked the style of the Viking range. It looked nice. I thought it fit well in my kitchen that we had just put in. We got the hood, and it was very good. I like the convection oven a lot and the quality of the range is excellent. However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. He was there for three or four hours and I haven’t had problems since. My experience with Vikings is great and I would recommend the Viking range.
The range was purchased in 2005 for a limited-use home, with minute amounts of cooking. The igniters failed in 2011 and they failed again in 2013. We were told that we could expect the igniters to last only 2 years. Each replacement of igniters cost us over $500.00. In addition, we had to replace the hinges on the oven door for another $400. Viking builds a disgraceful product and I would never buy another one, nor would I recommend it to anyone but an enemy! To top it off, their customer service is more like customer torture. STAY AWAY FROM VIKING PRODUCTS!! They dont work and the company does not stand behind its products!!
We were right in the middle of the start of the virus and our JennAir built-in failed, and I needed to get a refrigerator. Viking was one they had and could deliver. But I would have never bought a Viking refrigerator. It’s not where I think their strength is. They didnt install the fan. We had a water problem on our floor and we had to get the guy out. Ive never had a refrigerator drip water before and these are hardwood floors.They got somebody out there but the tech service guys were very confused with it. The first one didnt know quite how to fix it. It left the factory without the fan hooked up on the bottom. There was a float device that tells it when to turn on the heater, and none of that was hooked up properly. It took two trips to figure that and right now Im still very nervous about it.
I love my Viking range and it is a very high-end quality product. However, not the customer service at Viking. When I had a problem with the warranty and me registering my product, the issue wasnt quickly resolved. I had made several phone calls before I was able to make a date for someone to come out and look at the issue that I was having. I was being pushed around a little bit because I never registered my product. So, they said that they were gonna register it. I called back a week later and they hadnt done it. Its something that I could have done on my end, but they said that they were going to do it. I had to say, Whats going on? And then they finally worked it out. So, once registering the Viking was taken care of, I was okay with it. But the customer service wasnt the greatest at the time of getting my problems resolved.
Our fridge was on its way out. Plus, we had a space issue and we wanted to find a fridge that would fit in it without having to cut our cabinets. The size was the biggest factor. We tried Viking Refrigerators just to try something different. It was also because we’ve heard good things about the brand and with the way it looked. We bought it online through some appliance website and they were okay. However, the installers were poor and didn’t put the ice machine in right, so it didn’t work. But that has nothing to do with Viking.The refrigerator has a freezer at the bottom which I like as it gives me more room at the top. It’s easier to organize my food because there’s a lot of refrigeration space. I like that both doors open. I also like how its working out. It’s easier just for me. It has a lot of flexibility. The ref is not built-in, but it looks built-in. It fits perfectly with the way we have our cabinets. So far, the refrigerator is of good quality. It is a nice product. It keeps even temperature. Its pricey but I like the way it looks and everyone in my family likes it.
The Viking dealer was great to work with and I had a very good experience. It was good customer service and quick delivery. Also, I like the power burner on the range.
Ive had my first Viking Range for a year and a half. But it didn’t work properly so it had to be replaced. In fact, I had someone out five times try to repair it with no success. This started in November and it continued until the end of January until they replaced the range. After we got the replacement range, January 31st, it worked fine up until this past weekend and now, its not working. So, Im waiting for someone to come out again to fix it.But their customer service is terrible. When I first called back in November for my Viking Range, they said, Okay. Were going to hook you up with a service provider. Then they called me back and said, Oh, theres no service provider in your area that service. So I had to wait but no one ever got back to me saying that they found one. Then right before Thanksgiving, I got a phone call at 8:00 at night and it was a service provider who was running late at a job, but theyre coming over to look at my oven. I didnt even know anyone was coming but after the tech came, he said he was going to order the part. So, it should be in after Thanksgiving. I waited. On the following Monday, I called the service provider to see if the parts have come in. I didnt get a call back so I called again. Finally, they called me back after an hour. The tech said he didnt have my stuff because he wasnt in the office. So, he would call me back the next day. But no one called me back. This went on for about a week. And then finally they said, Were going to schedule service. They did schedule a certain day, but nobody showed up. I called again several times and finally, they said, All right. We can do it we think on Friday. This is a Friday. Im like, No. You think or you can? Oh, no. Were going to do it on Friday. Well call you in the morning and let you know exactly what time that theyll be there. Well, they never called me in the morning. So, by noon, I called Viking. The lady said, she was going to try to figure it out. Call me back. Well, I never heard from Viking, but I heard back from the service provider that they were going to send someone. When the person came, he was at my house for five hours and he was asking my 16-year old son to help him move the oven because he couldnt do it by himself. He took the whole oven apart and he said, after he had it all apart, Oh, they gave me the wrong part. So, he put the whole oven back together and obviously it didnt work. And hes telling me that hes not a licensed person. He was a student doing the boss of the company a favor. So I freaked out. I didnt want them back at my house so I called Viking again on a Monday. They assured me they were going to look into it, but I never heard back from them. Then finally, the company came. He said, All right. Listen, we ordered the right part. Can you please let us do the same process? Please let our company come back. Well fix it. We have the right part. We know where the part is located. At this point, I just want this fixed so, Im like, Fine. Come. He comes again. And after they supposedly fixed the part, it still didnt work. So, the guy left. I called Viking again, asking for a manager, someone to call me back. But no one ever called me back. I would keep getting new people and they would say, Oh, were going to add you to our list of people. Heres my contact number. But no one ever followed-up with me. And then in mid-December, they sent out a new service provider who looked into whats wrong with it. They then ordered the part and came back. They fixed it and the oven would stay hot, but the broiler still didnt work. It would turn on for 50 seconds and then shut off and never come back on. So I called back Viking to tell them its not working. They said they have to wait for the report from Mr. Appliance. So I called Mr. Appliance to tell them to send the report. They said they did and the lady said, You need a replacement range. But they dont want to replace it because its very expensive. So, finally after numerous attempts through Viking, I called one more time because the next time, I was going to call an attorney because this is insane. Its over six weeks that it hasnt been working since I initially made my first phone call and theyve sent people out four different times from two different companies. So, finally I got in touch with the lady who said that shes going to help me. She said that I was going to be getting a replacement. It finally came through at the end of January because they still had to order it. It was installed January 31st, but over Easter it, breaks again. An igniting problem. So the oven wont turn on at all. I have people over and Im not able to cook because the oven is not working. There are only so many things you can cook on top of the stove. So I called Viking. So since I bought my range, every holiday it does not work. I called every day from Monday to Wednesday and each day, nobody calls back. And this time, Im beyond frustrated. If this was a $300 range, I would have thrown it out already and bought another one. Im on the phone with this lady rep and Im desperately telling her, I already know exactly what youre going to say. Youre going to give me your direct number and its going to the escalation team. Someone will definitely call me back. I told her, Nobody calls me back, thats the thing. They dont call me. They dont email me. Nothing. Not were working on it. Just like dead. Nothing. She promised me that she would be different and so far she has. I told her that the regional manager never called me back. Ive asked, speak to him numerous t imes, No one ever called me back. So, she said, Hold on. Im going to call the escalation team or whoever sends out servicers. And I dont know what they told her because when she got back on the phone she said, I didnt like the answer they told me. So, Im going to take this to my supervisor, I promise Ill call you back. She did email me and her supervisor called me twice and they did have a service provider call me. And over the phone they tried to figure out what the problem is. Telling me to try to do different things. And they ordered the part that they think is the problem with this range. And now, Im waiting for it to come in. But still, no working range. These people except for the most recent lady that I spoke to, have no compassion, no understanding. I didnt buy a used one. And when you spent that money, you expect a higher quality of merchandise. Im a reasonable person, and I understand sometimes, things have flukes. But I cannot get over the horrendous customer service. So far the lady has lived up to what she said shes going to do. She responds to my email which is a plus because no one else ever did that. But at this point, would I ever buy a Viking again? Absolutely freaking not. And I wouldnt even want one for free. Because if something goes wrong with it, you cannot even get through to try to get it taken care of. That is the most aggravating part besides from it not working. I dont expect to snap my fingers and the service provider would be in my house. But with this range, even when I had the problems with the first one, I had to demand and get irate that I wanted a new one. After the second service provider came and it still didnt work, at that point they should have been like, Youve already been without an oven for six weeks now during the holidays. Youve missed Christmas, Thanksgiving and youre going to miss New Years at this point too. So, you know what? We are just going to send you a replacement. It was still another month after Christmas that I got my replacement. And I originally called Viking to complain about the issue, November 15th. So, from before November all the way until the end of January, no oven.
The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great. However, the functioning of the doors is not good which might have been due to the installation. The center tab of the door doesn’t match correctly. It slams into the other door. The clearance there is just off sixteenths of an inch. Any weight that you put on the door would make that clearance such that that tab will pop out again then you end up closing the door and slamming the other door so you can close it. I called different people who are Viking certified to look at it three times but they couldnt fix it. I dont know if this door issue is a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. I have another cheap refrigerator for 600 bucks and that works a lot better when it comes to doors and functionality.
Weve purchased a whole lot of Viking in our past two houses and Im done. We bought an 8 burner dual fuel range when we remodeled our house. Within one month of when we could start using it, we had problems. In the 3 years since the remodel started, weve had service out a minimum of 10 times and they cant nail down a problem. They suggested keeping a log of issues which we did for a year. Showed dates and issues documenting a routine problem with the temperature not seeming right, uneven heating, self-cleaning doesnt work, pre-heat takes an hour and over fan takes more than an hour to turn off. Fixed several different pieces and STILL have such uneven heating that nearly everything comes out burned on the outer edges before the inner part will be cooked. Forget making a cake. The middle will be raw when the outside is done. Nobody from Viking will help. The regional manager called once while I was at work and wont return any calls after 5 attempts. Clearly just trying to look good on a report, not actually help. What I want to know is what about my written warranty AND the implied warranty of fitness for purpose (i.e., being able to cook things normally) that is supposed to be the law?! Not only will I never buy another Viking product. Im warning everyone I know against it also.
The Viking range is a good range. It has high heat. I selected it because I do a lot of stir-fry and I wanted something that has good heat control. However, it has some rattles that I dont like. I did have somebody come in and look at it. He corrected a few things and said, Because it is a custom kitchen, there are some places that the range touched, which he said normally wouldnt have been the case in a traditional installation. He seemed to have a reason for it. I was pleased when I called. I was smelling gas. They put me on to a service guy in New York. I was able to arrange a visit with him pretty quickly. He came over and corrected the problem very quickly. The pipe where the gas comes in was a little shifted. He was able to crack that. He said it wasnt a serious problem and its been working fine since. I havent smelled gas. He also explained to me what the situation was and the safety features with the Viking. If I was going to do it again, I wouldnt do it so quickly. I’d probably end up with a Viking because of the reputation and because of things Ive heard. But I was kind of rushed when I made the purchase so I might have looked around a little more. But in terms of cooking, Im very satisfied.
Our Viking Range was only 4 years old when a tiny part in the electronic panel broke in half. After searching for many hours for someone willing to come and fix it, we were told that most likely the whole electronic panel would have to be replaced. Not satisfied with this, we continued our research and found that this defect was very common, and that the $20 dollar part could be purchased and replaced quite easily. We found someone that ordered the part (he was the one that told us that this was quite common and that a recall should have been done on our model of range).Since being fixed, the control knob has never worked very well and was quite finicky to turn the oven on. Now, after owning this range for only 5 years, the circuit board has shorted out. Rather than spend a dime on fixing this, I would rather just throw it out and buy a new and more simply made range. DO NOT waste your money on Viking products. They do not stand behind their appliances and it is nearly impossible to find someone that will waste their time fixing them. Go with something that can be easily fixed as I believe all appliances nowadays are designed to fail hours after their warranty has expired.
I owned a 48-inch Thermador that we bought 20 years ago. Some of the burners were going out, and so we started researching for a new one. I bought my Viking range on the 27th of July. When I got my range, I never got a manual. I called and spoke with a gal. She told me I could download it. Its like 30 something pages. I paid $12,000 for a range and theyre telling me I need to download 30 something pages for me to have a manual? After fighting with me, she said she would have someone send me a manual. But Ive never received a manual. I like my range though and I definitely like it better than my Thermador. Its easier to clean too.
This is, bar none, the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. The basket is constantly breaking, allowing all of the silverware to fall into the dishwasher. And then, in turn, the dishwasher does not work. This happens every 2 months! I would never buy any other product from this company.
Knowing Viking through friends and knowing its a high-end brand, I got their range. I worked with the distributor during my purchase and it was pleasant. I like the look of my unit and its performance. The power output is nice and it is definitely higher performing. The quality is great and I like how its easy to clean.
My husband and I completed our renovations in May 2018. We have had issues with the microwave drawer and the oven since we finished our kitchen. The panels were defected on both and we had to set up at least 4/5 appointments with the authorized service provider until the matters were remedied. Fast forward to January 2019 - the oven does not work above 300 degrees. I was advised by Viking that service can schedule an appointment to look at the oven in mid February!!! After several calls, we were scheduled for service today. When nobody arrived - we were advised that Viking canceled the appointment 3 days ago, never advising us of the change. Not only does the product fail to meet its reputation, the customer service at Viking is reason alone never to buy another Viking product.
I have a built-in Monogram that I pulled out and died and I dont how to put one. I have spent that kind of money to put a built-in back in. Ive known Viking Refrigerators for a while then I saw it in the store. It met my needs. There was something damaged on it though and I was supposed to get another drawer and I didnt. I like that it keeps the vegetables fresh although this wonderful refrigerator does not have one of those little twist-in filters. Even the way its set up, you cant put an inline filter because its built-in and you cant get to it. Theres not enough room at the bottom.
Viking Ranges are pretty well-known and when I went to a showroom, I saw a one on sale that I liked. I thought about the one that was in my friend’s new kitchen which she really liked, so I thought I would try it. I like the range. It’s a good product and the middle shelf rolls out very well. I have a Viking dishwasher as well as a microwave and everything’s good about the microwave but the dishwasher did not work right from the start. I had it repaired, but that was questionable.
We bought Viking Professional which we thought would have been their best of the best and we’ve not been happy with it. I was really excited about the purchase and it’s been a disappointment. With the first fridge we had, water was pooling. We had three different service guys out, the last one being a Viking service person who couldn’t figure it out. They ended up replacing it, and with the fridge that they replaced it with, the door is not aligned correctly. We’ve had two people out to try to fix that and that has been unsuccessful. After three service calls, a fridge replacement and two additional service calls, six different times I’ve spent the day in the house waiting, we’re done. I would tell anybody else not to purchase it because it’s a lot of money and we’re settling because I’m truthfully just tired of it. I wouldn’t purchase another one.
This is the worst refrigerator that Ive ever purchased. We ordered all of our Viking appliances while our kitchen was being remodeled. It arrived on February of this year, when our new kitchen remodel was finished. After delivery, I saw that the refrigerator doors were not parallel to each other. From then on I kept on calling them so they could fix it. They finally fixed it but then again the freezer started frosting very badly. So I called them again, after 2 weeks I received the new part and they finally came and installed a new part for freezer. So now my refrigerator started frosting again. I keep telling them that this refrigerator needs to be exchanged but they just keep sending me a technician to come fix it. They cant. I made a big mistake getting the Viking refrigerator.
We purchased ours about two years ago, but it has only been installed for about six months. There was an issue where the company we bought it from didnt deliver several components for the stove, and we didnt realize it until well after it was purchased. They couldnt do anything to help us. It was difficult to get in touch with the Viking parts department and identify what the correct pieces were that we needed to order to fully install the stove. But the stove served us well since weve gotten the parts we needed and had it installed.
I knew Viking from the installation in multiple houses from friends but in this particular case, the builder had Viking as the official product to be selected from. We didn’t have an option but to select within Viking products. Its a good brand though and I like their refrigeration products look, that the drawers close softly and that it works. I would recommend them with a caveat of what the person might be looking for exactly. For example, this refrigerator doesn’t have the option to access water or ice from outside the door so it’s just practical issues depending on how you want to use it and what is your preference.
When we moved into this house, it already had Viking appliances in it and nothing else would fit. The lady who lived in this house before told me not to get Viking products, but we had to go with Viking and we were stuck with them because of the way that the house was designed. With Viking per se, there has been no problem with the quality of their products and the way that weve been treated, but our experience with the distributor has not been good. Our experience with the whole process of getting the specific appliances that we needed and getting them installed has been anything but good. We got all the products that we purchased, except one. Although it has been a few months since we made our purchase, we are still waiting for one of the products to be shipped. We were told by Milcarskys Appliance Centre that we were going to get the exhaust fan that would be put above the range and this was approved by the Viking vice president for this region. But whenever we called Milcarskys, they were always telling us that they were still waiting for the mounting bracket and I don’t know how long that would take. So, our experience with the delivery was not good.It also took us an extreme amount of time to get our Viking refrigerator installed and it was a very difficult installation. Then, after the installation, we had to make a service call because the fan in the freezer was not working and there was a lot of water collecting. The people who installed the ref didn’t know how to put it in and if we had not made that service call, something would have happened to the freezer. Nevertheless, our Viking appliances have been working well so far, but theyre very new and it’s too soon to tell if they will last.
Range arrived on schedule and was installed without a problem. Immediately I noticed a positive cooking experience. The burners heated my stainless pans quickly and evenly. They do not burn even at high temperatures. All four 1500 degree burners provide the same positive experience. The electric convection oven is easy to use and also provides even heating throughout.
We went to a local Best Buy store looking for appliances and chose to buy Viking over other competitors because of the quality and the customer reviews that we had seen online. Best Buy assured us that because they sell the product, they were associated with Pacific Sales which sells Viking. They went ahead and did what they could to earn our business and matched the price that weve had gotten at our local friends appliance. They beat it by $500.However, it was probably the worst purchasing experience I have ever gone through. We purchased it on September 6 and by the week of Thanksgiving, we received part of our purchase which were the refrigerator, the microwave, the dishwasher, and the range. The people who installed the refrigerator broke the handles and dented the doors so they had to replace those. The double oven showed up totally damaged. The entire front looks like it have been dropped. It was mangled and we couldnt even open the doors. We refused delivery on it so that they would take it back and get us a new one.We had spoken with Best Buy and Pacific Sales numerous times and they had given us the name and number of the Viking rep who serviced that door. The Viking sales rep assured us that everything would be taken cared of but she stopped returning my husbands call. We got our range that was damaged about five weeks ago and it was installed but about a week later, it had an F3 error on the bottom oven. So now we are waiting for the local rep because I did an online service call and they sent the information to the local person to fix them. They were scheduled to come yesterday but they didnt come. Now, theyre scheduled to come sometime this afternoon.It has been a bad experience from start to finish. Outside of the purchase itself and the fact that we finally got the oven with some sort of an error wouldnt have been a big deal if we hadnt waited almost eight months for it to arrive. It wouldnt have been such a terrible experience as far as Viking is concerned, but I am concerned as to who sells their product because it doesnt care well for Viking. Nevertheless, our Viking appliances are all great. We love all of them when everythings working. Even the oven is great with the top one thats working. The refrigerator has been the most beneficial for our family. I like that it has great space and everythings there. With it having different temperatures on, Im able to keep the cheese and the vegetables from freezing. Its an all around good product and is well built.
Oct 1, 20 -- The dishwasher stopped working and requested repair through customer service center. Oct 23, 20 - The repairman visited and he failed repairing machine and ordered major parts. Nov 20, 20 -- The major parts arrived and the repairman changed almost every parts and the machine failed to work and he said the whole machine should be replaced. Nov 23, 20 -- I called Viking customer service center and they gave me a new reference number. As of today (12/08/20) -- Any information received from Viking and still waiting their response. Nobody care of customer who needs their concern & action. Do not buy Viking dishwasher if possible.
I like the look of my Viking refrigerator and I’m very happy with its performance. It keeps the temperature well and if I keep the door open too long, an alarm sets off. Viking has a very good warranty program too. I had a couple issues with my Viking oven and they sent a repairman under warranty immediately and fixed whatever the issue was at no cost. I would tell my friends that it would be a wise decision to purchase a Viking.
My wife went to a showroom and saw a Viking refrigerator and liked it. We got our Viking a year ago and I like the shelving. However, our experience with the team at the actual Viking dealer wasn’t great. They didn’t do a good installation, so we had to have a different team back out to re-install it. Also, when I made my warranty claim, I found out that the unit had not been registered with Viking. But when I went back on the invoice, I saw that I had paid a $4.00 fee for them to register it. I probably wouldn’t buy from this place again, although it’s not Viking’s fault but the dealer’s.I have a warranty claim that Viking is working on because when the power is interrupted, the refrigerator sometimes doesn’t come back on automatically. If they can get that fixed, then it’s a good piece of equipment. If that can’t get fixed or if that’s a design defect in the equipment, then I’m not going to be really happy about it. Nevertheless, I was really impressed with the way Viking handled the warranty claim. It turned out that I called them a day or two after the one-year anniversary of the purchase date, yet they were very nice about it and they said it wasn’t going to be a problem. He could have said that I was one day outside of my one-year warranty period, so they were not going to do it, but they didn’t say that.
We bought a home thats a few years old, and it already had appliances in it as far as the refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Because I was doing a very large remodel in the kitchen, I needed my appliances to match. Weve heard really great things about Viking in the past, I didnt think twice about it. Well, was I ever so wrong. I should have just redid the whole kitchen for the amount of money that I ended up spending on Viking. We purchased a Series 5. Professional range, dual fuel, and with an overhead vent. Our dealer was Ferguson here in Houston. We didnt actually see it because they didnt have any on the floor but I said, “Well, we know were going to get it, so why do I need to see it? We’ll just buy it.” We ordered at the end of December because there was a special wherein if you buy the range and the overhead vent, you would get a free microwave. Ferguson does the installation, and there was too much back and forth with them. The guy and I were going back on whether it was a 7 or 10-inch blower hole, which is a very big difference and could be very costly if done wrong because youre cutting into an exterior wall. We ended up saying it should be a seven. But then when I was reading the notes of what I had purchased, it was saying that we needed a 10-inch hole. I called Viking and found out the salesperson at Ferguson ordered the wrong blower. Fortunately, I caught the mistake and didnt have the hole cut to 10 inches. I had them cancel the blower, reorder, and send us the correct blower.Ferguson wanted to come out for a second pre-site before they install the appliances to make sure we had done everything that met their criteria. We put in a 110 for the dual fuel range just like what they told us. The guy even wrote on my old crown molding on the wall 110. Guys came back for a check, and its a 240 or 220. At this point, my cabinets are done and its going to be very difficult to run a new electrical to the wall. My electrician somehow figured it out and was able to run a new electrical. He even called to confirm that you want for it to be hardwired into the wall. He was told, “Yeah, we dont need a plug. It just gets hardwired.” So he left it capped and ready for the range to be hardwired. Ferguson came and said, “No, it has to be plugged in.” Viking told us it could be hardwired, which Ive read in the installation manual personally but Ferguson said no and left the range in the middle of my kitchen. My electrician came back out and installed the plug. It was a whole mess but that’s just the beginning. My contractor said something was wrong with the vent hood. He held up a proper level, and the vent hood was crooked. When Ferguson installed the vent hood, they used a level that was one foot-long, so it wasnt really checking the whole thing. So they came back out to re-level it. They also ended up yanking the rubber feet off of the microwave because the hole that they measured for us was too small. The oven knobs were put on backwards so the oven wouldn’t come on. I was infuriated. I finally went back and looked at it after 30 minutes. I was like, “Oh, somebody put the knobs on wrong.” Okay, good. Oven works. I also had to pay a separate company to do ductwork because they wouldnt do it, which nobody could understand. We had a party with some friends on the 4th of July weekend. I went to cook a standing rib roast. Standing rib roast is cooked at 200 degrees until the rib roast reaches temperature. And then, from there, Im supposed to crank my oven to 500 and sear off that meat. Simple. Ive done this on a very cheap Samsung electric range, ‘cause thats what I had at my last house. The Viking never made it to 500. We waited for over an hour and a half. I have an existing Viking oven thats 13 years old, and it gets to 450 within a matter of minutes. So I dont understand why this big oven, thats brand new, and costs tens of thousands of dollars cant get a temperature. I called Viking, and the lady I got, Juanita, was not helpful. She said I have to have somebody come out. Ovens are finicky. My aunt has a Wolf and if you dont hit the button just so, it doesnt do what you want it to do. Juanita wasnt listening to my problem. I told her, Maybe I dont need somebody and you just need to tell me to click the button left or something.” She would not help me. The owner of the company came and said, “Well, it reaches 350 within the 25 minutes its supposed to. Theres nothing wrong with it.” I was like, “Something is wrong because its not getting to 500.” He said, “It gets to 350 in its normal time. But you need a new fan. Your fan’s loud.” I was like, “The thing is brand-new. How can I need a new fan?” He told me theres a Viking chart out in the world that Ive never gotten my hands on to this day, that is supposed to tell me how long it takes to go from 350 to 500. Theres an interval, like every 10 degrees, it takes 15 minutes or whatever it is. But he didnt know what it was. He tried to call Viking and he couldnt get it. I kept calling and would even try to talk to other Viking representatives but they said Juanita’s my case manager. Juanita was out of the office and they still would not help me.It took me until September to get it to work. For three months, I fought with people to get my oven to work. All they had to do was tell me, “If you would turn the oven off and turn it back on, itll use full voltage to go to 500.” What happens on Viking ranges is, once it hits the set temperature, it uses half the voltage to maintain the temperature of the oven that you have it set. Because you change your settings to a higher temperature, itll only use half the voltage to get to that point. Thats why Ive never reached 500. Horrible customer service. I was mortified by the service I received, especially after how much money I spent with Viking. Now that I know how the oven is supposed to work, I love it. Nobody could tell me that until right the second representative from Bar Appliance came out.
My friends have Viking Refrigerators in their house. I like the fridges size, lighting, layout, innovation, accessibility and the piece of tray at the bottom. Viking also has very good service.
We still have the Viking range in our house in California. We really like it so we ended up buying Viking for all of our appliances. We have the oven, the fridge, the dishwasher and the microwave. My father and mother bought the range and they came back happy besides spending almost $20,000 on the appliances. The range was bought a couple of months ago and then we set it up two weeks ago and just tested it. I love the overall quality of the range. It is very good and I feel like it is more commercial than household because everything is so big though not as big in the inside. But other than that, it is perfect and it cooks everything faster. I would recommend it.
I went to the building in Manhattan. It has all the showcases and thats where I picked out the Viking Range. I liked their reputation and the price point. Then I called Appliance World and they had it shipped to my house. During delivery, it came damaged as the bottom trim piece was dented. I called Appliance World and within three days, I had the little piece over here ready in the mail. The fact that I went from an electric grill to a gas grill makes a big difference to me. Its been about a year now since Ive had it and its been a good stove and hood.
I have no questions at this time. We are very pleased with the unit. It has significantly increased the quality of oven baked goods. It was the most expensive appliance we have purchased until now but it has made cooking so much more enjoyable. Thank you.
So, new refrigerator and freezer to replace a defective Viking product previously installed. The installers were amateurs. They came by to survey the house to make certain they could get the equipment in, but still brought the wrong equipment to get the units in the house. They also did not bring the correct tools to complete the installation. They had to borrow from another contractor that I had working at the house and from me to get the units installed. Totally unacceptable. Finally installed, and the freezer doesnt make ice, really???After two additional trips, someone determines that the wrong switch was installed on the freezer by the factory. It took over 5 WEEKS to get this resolved, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I tried to buy American and local, I live in Mississippi, but I get torpedoed by Vikings total ineptitude at building products and by Vikings installation agents complete incompetence. I will NEVER recommend Viking for ANYTHING. Your products are totally inferior and installation is an abomination.
I wanted to get a really good refrigerator that would last a long time. I know Vikings top of the line products and so weve purchased refrigerators from them. Our first one had a water dispenser on the inside of the door. When we tried using the dispenser it wouldnt work as the water line kept freezing up. We ended up getting another refrigerator but a different model without a water dispenser, which is what we really wanted. The second one worked fine and then it stopped making ice. A service guy came out five times, replaced the ice maker twice, replaced the track twice and he said the water line was fine but he couldnt understand why its not making ice. So hopefully, this third refrigerators a charm. I hope it stays working and it seems to be fine. It makes some weird noises sometimes. It probably has something to do with the water line and the connection for the ice maker. But other than that, its producing ice. So far, so good.
We purchase all Viking kitchen appliances. Every item ref, range, dishwasher and latest microwave had immediate service issues. We have still to get a working microwave now - seven months and still waiting. Do not consider Viking in your remodeling. The appliance only look good... absolute junk with a service department ready to say nothing and do nothing. Save yourselves the nightmare, buy anything else.

Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault.They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.
Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.
We purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2008. We have had continuous problems with it and have had times gone up to five months because the parts could not be delivered. Our latest problem began the end of June and the repairman is still waiting for the part to be delivered. While the repair service is competent I believe, they cannot do anything unless they have the parts. This is been a totally frustrating experience. Having paid for a very expensive and supposedly high-quality refrigerator it is frustrating to see how many times it has broken and how long it takes to get a repair. We also have a cheaper fridge purchased at the same time when we built our home and it continues to work just fine with no repairs as of today. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. Having just got off the phone with Joy from customer service she is a ray of hope.
I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.
Viking had been recommended by several people including our son and daughter-in-law who had one for a long time. The range we received over two years ago turned out to be just froth with a series of problems and we had various Viking repair out there. We received a factory replacement about two months ago and theres been one little igniter issue. But that was fixed and were back on board again. If it wasnt for the repairmen who knew our problem, we still wouldnt have one. We would have thrown it away. It was terrible. We just plainly could not continue with a device that was so unpredictable. The oven knobs got incredibly hot and the fan was really noisy. And it repeatedly would shut itself off. I would never buy a Viking stove again. And the one we have now is working much better. It shut itself off, but it was the igniter and the repairman fixed it. But the knobs dont get hot and the fan is extremely quiet. And thats so much nicer than we the one we had that was extremely noisy which almost shake the house.Viking made some changes with their service and repair facility and model. They went to an outside supplier that made multiple visits but had no knowledge of Viking as far as training. But when we finally got to the Viking employee that takes care of the State of Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska, he has been great. If it wasnt for him, we probably wouldnt have that stove anymore.We went through a lot and there was not a lot of support from Viking. I started keeping a log on Microsoft Word and its now over eight pages. And of all the various different calls, their replies, the kept emails that are incredible. But anyway, its just been a long journey. You got more than what you want to know.I went on Facebook at one time on their website to say how much trouble I had had and they replied with, Oh, well call your Viking such and such. We dont want this to happen. But it didnt do any good.
I purchased close to $30,000 of Viking appliances. I bought two under cabinet refrigerators, wine coolers, a cooktop, a built-in microwave, and built-in oven, but never had a problem with them. The main problem was the refrigerator as it constantly broke down. We were very dissatisfied with it. We had to contact their technician three times to come out and fix the problem. But their repair guys were always good. They came with the knowledge of what the problem is and they fixed it. We also had a very bad experience with their dealer Pacific Sales at Best Buy in San Jose. They kept blowing me off even if I purchased extended warranty. They told me I have to contact Viking directly. Why did they sell me the extended warranty if they will not cover the problem?
I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water.My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent.To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.
Viking Refrigerators are crazy expensive rather than just going with a regular refrigerator. But my wife wanted one so we got one and it is fine. Our experience with the sales rep and the installation were great. We also have a Viking stove and the starters on the gas thing weren’t working. But then a gentleman showed up, found the problem, came back with the parts, and fixed it.
Viking is highly ranked. At the time of my purchase, there was also a good deal for getting all Viking. Aside from the discount, they threw in a free dishwasher. I like Vikings ovens. But the quality of the professional stoves is better than the refrigerator. It was made in Mexico and not quite the same as their professional level refrigerators. But its pretty good. I like that the styling was all matching too. The only thing is one of the status lights is out in the refrigerator already. It just happened.
I had a full Viking kitchen in my former home but I had to get a refrigerator in a hurry because I was moving. But when I got my Viking Refrigerator last January, I had a problem with it immediately. The freezer door did not close completely so I had the serviceman come out because it looked like it was out of alignment. He said we just have to pull it this way or that so he realigned it. I left town for two weeks, came back and my freezer was so frozen up we could not open it. On one side, there was a tiny gap and all that air was getting in there.When I got back, I immediately called the repairman. He comes only to Tuscaloosa once a week so I had to wait a week. The serviceman came back and said, Youre gonna have to take everything out of your refrigerator. Turn the refrigerator off, let it thaw like an old-fashioned refrigerator, and then find a place to put all of it, then bring it back... So it was a terrible experience. He told me that it was something that happens with that refrigerator and that was a very lame excuse. Everything in my house is Viking and this is just something I have to accept? Thats not why I went with it. There was no repair done. He simply said that I needed to make sure that when the door closes, it is not caught one way or the other so that the air could not get in.But other than that, buying the refrigerator through a Viking dealer has been a wonderful experience. They were very nice trying to accommodate me. Also, my overall experience with the repairman has been excellent. He was great, very polite, very kind and he fixes what the problem is, but I was not satisfied with the fact that I just have to accept it. As far as that overall experience with owning a Viking refrigerator, its not good because I have this concern. Its just not a comfortable feeling. I even asked, Would they do something to replace it? He said, It would really take something big, and this is not something big. I told him that the inconvenience that I had to completely empty my refrigerator, turn it off, let it thaw out, and then put everything back in the freezer is not what I expect out of Viking.
I love everything about my Viking range. This is probably my fourth Viking. The two homes I purchased had Viking Ranges in them previously. Then I have a home down in the Dominican Republic, and that range in there is around 30 years old. I just replaced the igniters on it, and it works like its brand new. Its amazing. I like the longevity. The price point is pretty high, but they last forever.Were still waiting on service for the range in my house. The far right bottom igniter has never worked. The service people are coming back out tomorrow, but this is their third visit. I’m a little apprehensive because they took the whole panel off on the front where there are 10 adjusting knobs. I told them, “Guys, its the igniter. I dont know if youre supposed to do that.” One tech said, “Well, I ordered this part, but my boss says its another part.” I told him, “But your boss wasnt here diagnosing it originally.” So thats kind of ass-backwards and the guy was here for about four hours. Also, Ive noticed that when I turn on the gas, sometimes the flame is higher on one side than the other. I had to keep turning on the pan when I was cooking.
I knew what I wanted when I went to the store and I told the staff I was looking for a particular Viking range. The only thing was that they had to distinguish between a dual fuel and a non-dual fuel range. The Viking range is a great product and I like its gas top feature.
Viking had a reputation to have a good quality and reliable product. Also, theyre a national brand, so theyre well-known. But were a little disillusioned with our Viking range. We had some problems with it when we got it and we got the runaround from Viking getting it repaired, so it was kind of an arduous process. I purchased an extended warranty from the company that we bought it from and when we had the problem, we called the extended warranty company. They said they wouldnt take care of it because were not out of our two-year warranty with Viking. So I had to go to Viking and Viking couldn’t find a local repair company in the area to repair it. Other than that, its hard to light the burners. I wont buy Viking again.
The parts for our Viking Range are well made. The knobs are sturdy and the grates lift up so you can clean underneath. It is very functional. We use it all the time and weve been very happy with it. However, the oven is a little on the powerful side and it doesnt function as labeled. We have to turn the temperature down and reduce the cook time with any recipe that we are following. But weve learned to work with it and sometimes, its helpful if were cooking something very hot.
I like that theyre made in the USA. Given this day and time of supply chain slowdowns, the range got here quicker than we had expected, which was marvelous. We got a hood to go along with it. Everything came in pretty much right on time. The range performs exactly as we had hoped. Its a high quality range. Everything comes out tasting great. Viking is the best.
I had a bit of a challenge with the customer service. I bought the range online and when it was delivered, they dropped the dishwasher that came with the range off the back of the truck. It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. As for the range itself, I appreciate how quickly the eyes on the top get hot. It took some getting used to not having an indicator that the oven was preheated. But one of the hinges was messed up and it looks like its gonna mess up again. Im not satisfied with that.
We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome griddle for our remodel. The range looks really good, unfortunately we need one that works as well. Let me start with what works well. The burners are very nice, delivering consistent heat. The stove top is easy to clean with few nooks and crannies. Now for the things that don’t work well. The ViChrome griddle looks good but a horrible surface to cook on. The only thing that doesn’t stick like superglue to the surface is pancakes, as long as we use ghee. Any other fat or oil does not work at all. The surface is very difficult to clean. The griddle itself has a problem that there is a high temperature difference between front and back. The back will burn things while the front will undercook. Only about a 6” piece of the griddle cooks at the set temp. I had the workings of the griddle changed out by Viking service but it did not change a thing. We gave up using it as it’s not worth the trouble.By far the biggest disappointments are the two electric ovens. There is also a large temp difference between front and back of the ovens, upwards of 10 degrees. This too was addressed by Viking service but no change. The only way to get even cooking is to manually rotate the dish. The convection fan sounds like a jet engine and makes this very large range shake. Viking service replaced the fan in the larger oven but it shakes now more than ever. We gave up using the convection ovens as the noise and shaking are just too much to stomach particularly given the $15,000 price tag. Finally, each oven has a heating element at the top which shuts off when oven reaches temperature, unfortunately it will kick on during cooking when oven is at temp and proceed to burn whatever it is we are cooking. I lost count of how many dishes have been ruined by this. We have to watch the heating element constantly to insure the dishes don’t burn. The range looks great, but what a huge disappointment. I am a second generation Viking customer, growing up with the older models that built the great Viking name. There will not be a third generation Viking customer in my family. There are better products out there a 1/4th the price.
I have a friend who remodeled their kitchen five years ago, and they have Viking and the kitchen looks so chic and had clean lines. I went with a six-burner and a full range. The home that we purchased, we seriously upgraded the kitchen and there was a cooktop and a double-stack range which is not my style. I was raised with a one range and I liked the versatility that Viking provided with the 5 Series range that we have. I looked at others and its just the right size. The six pilots is perfect because theres more room to cook. The space in the conventional oven is large enough, both the top and the bottom, to heat up the turkey and also the casserole and the dressing at the same time. I have the Viking hood and the switch of the light that illuminates the oven range needs to be adjusted because the light blinks on and off. But so far, everything is great. Im very pleased.I have the whole set - the microwave drawer which is very sleek, the dishwasher, and the refrigerator. But we had a Samsung which had more space in it than we do in the Viking. Thats the only complaint. Were pleased with it. I compared it to other brands. And for what I was willing to pay, Viking fell right in the middle. It wasnt too much for me because, where we live and the upgrades that weve done to the home and the overall increase in value, I thought that the appliances should reflect the neighborhood. Its one of those things wherein that is a fixture that adds value to the house. Kitchens and bathrooms sell a home. And to walk into a kitchen, especially ours, from how it was when we purchased it, to have so many nice upgrades and one of the top of the line appliances, it added instant value to our home. That was the other reason why the whole package was worth it.
When I built my house in 2006, I put all Viking appliances in, without regard for price, because I thought I would have quality products for many years. The dishwasher was labeled as not worth fixing, after 4 years. The temperature control on the built-in oven is so sloppy and inaccurate that you are always guessing at what the actual temperature is. I was told even the new control knobs are that inaccurate. The ice dispenser on the built-in side-by-side fridge dispenses ice to the floor almost every time it is used. I have to post instructions for use on the fridge when we are entertaining. The plastic pull-out ice drawer broke after the 4th year. The automatic ice maker stopped working completely in the 11th year and it took over a year to diagnose, get parts and repair the problem. Parts took 9 months to get. One positive, the meat drawer keeps the meat unbelievably fresh for extended amounts of time. No children here so the wear and tear is very minimal. I will never purchase another Viking product.
After being told by Viking, both to me and to Complete Appliance Service, that the electronic failure of both the griddle and left oven starters of my VGSC5486GSS Viking Range.would be covered, Viking denied the claim. It was to be covered under 3yrs plus 90 days on electric parts. This is my 2nd Viking range. I own a Viking dishwasher and wine cooler. I am building a new home and am concerned about Viking’s warranty. I have also called and left messages for Antonio.
I’ve been in the restaurant business for so many years and Vikings name has been around. It’s quality product and all that good stuff. I’ve watched them over going to Best Buy and thought that one’s beautiful. My recent purchase was a single oven, microwave steam convection oven, all in one dishwasher, gas range and the refrigerator. So far so good but I kind of wish Viking offered a filtered water system through their refrigerators but they don’t. But it does make ice which is nice. I’d definitely recommend their product to a friend. But Viking is top of the line, top dollar. It’s not for the average consumer. I didn’t buy it to make my house value go up because what I’ve heard is all the high end kitchen equipment doesn’t really hold value because not everyone takes pleasure in that. But I wanted the best I can have and my choice was Viking.
My Viking range is the second one Ive had and I really like it. It holds temperature well. Its a beautiful piece of equipment. Its the best center point of my kitchen. The one thing I dont like is that if any sort of dirt or debris gets on the pilot or the starter, it can be a bit finicky. Otherwise, I love it. Somebody came to look at that pilot because I thought it might have been broken. The technician came and it needed to be cleaned. That was a good positive experience. I had to talk back and forth with a customer service person regarding the warranty because I didnt have a receipt. I just had the serial numbers. But they’ve sorted it out. It was easy.
I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.
Were having our unit repaired because the icemaker is not working, and it’s not self-leveling very well. The tech came out three days ago and determined the thing in the bottom needed to be completely repaired. He gave us a quote on what it is going to cost to fix that. Also, some of the lights aren’t working and we have to replace them. We love the industrialized look, but looking at this is a $10,000 refrigerator, one would think that these issues wouldnt be happening, but they are. We also have a Viking dishwasher that has not been hooked up yet, and were crossing our fingers that that will not cause us any more trauma.
When I bought the house, a Viking range was already here. I had to have a repair done on it and they quickly put me in touch with the service repair person in my area. They seem very professional. The repair person then came out and replaced the door because it’s not shutting correctly. He then told me to use the self-clean feature because that would warp the door and burn off the electricals. The quality of this range is good overall, and the big gas burner in the middle is my favorite.
Appliances were ordered through Ferguson Appliances and I do not have a Viking order number. The number above references the job number for repairs. I was very pleased with the design of my refrigerator and oven. Both required repairs within a few weeks of installation. The oven was overheating and shutting off. The refrigerator cooling drawer wasnt working and the freezer was not maintaining an even temperature. The repair service was efficient but it took quite some time to receive parts. I was very surprised both products began malfunctioning so soon after installation (within 1-2 months).
Our Viking fridge is not very old, but we’ve had multiple things break on it. The customer service has not been great and we haven’t gotten things resolved. Our ice machine is broken and we’ve been waiting on a part for a couple of weeks. The door on the refrigerator is off because, apparently, it’s heavier than the freezer so we have an alignment issue with the exterior of the refrigerator, which we heard we can’t fix. We also had two of our interior condiment holders break. Those have been replaced though. We should’ve bought a Sub-Zero. We probably would not buy another Viking.
I like my Viking Range. The quality of the range is really good. I also felt great when I went to their training and the environment was really good. The instructor gives class on how to use it. Everybody was nice and explained everything very clearly. I recommend Viking Ranges.
I am in the midst of a kitchen remodel. When searching for a range, Viking was definitely the brand at the top of my list. We were in Best Buy one afternoon for something unrelated. I went over to the range section of the store to browse, not knowing that Best Buy even carried Viking. As I walked through the aisles I noticed a white Viking Range. It was beautiful and fit my kitchen design perfectly. When we asked about the range, we were told it was returned by the customer, it didnt fit their design. So we purchased it immediately out of box. Last week, my contractors brought it into our home and installed it. Right away, we realized it was not working properly. We were told when we bought it, there was a two year warranty. I made a call to customer support. They patched me through to a technician who thought the issue was air in the gas line. We ran the range several times, following his instructions, and it still did not work. I called back to customer support and was told I had to register first and that takes 24 hours. I registered the range and called back the next day. I was then told the product was registered to someone else. The rep said he had to do some investigation and called me back. Turns out my warranty is expired because the customer who returned the range registered it and this had occurred two years prior. That was their final answer and they did nothing to rectify my issue. So, now I sit here with a Viking range that does not work in my brand new kitchen. While we are pursuing Best Buy to resolve our issue, I feel that the help I receive with my issue was unacceptable, given the price and reputation of the product. I will never look at another Viking product.Updated on 07/05/2018: We bought an “out of box” Viking range from Best Buy. We were told there was a 2 yr warranty - that was Best Buy’s error. When installed, the range did not work. After calling Viking Customer Service 4 times, I gave up. No one called me back. I called a Viking certified repair place and paid to have them come out. It was going to cost $1700 to fix my NEW range. AND, the technician recommended I return it as it looked like it had been taken apart. I did as he recommended and bought a different brand. I will NEVER buy Viking again.
I build houses and I recommend Viking to all my customers. However, I didnt like the range that I got from them that I bought from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The handle on it broke and they sent out a service guy to fix it. I took a video with my phone of exactly what was wrong so there was no reason for them to come out without the part. However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. For three months, I had to go without my middle burner thermostat controller working, which was unacceptable for a $7,000 stove. Ive given you guys countless customers when I build homes. How am I going to be able to recommend Viking after the experience I just had?
I wanted a Viking stove and I wanted everything in my kitchen to be from the same brand so I got a Viking refrigerator as well. I like the metal sections in its door and when I bought it, the Viking dealers reps were very good. I would tell my friends that they should look into Viking Refrigerators.
We bought the package of Viking appliances - fridge, wall oven, and stove from Trail Appliance in Calgary in 2009. We are living outside of any major city so servicing these products has been tough. The products are constantly falling apart and expensive to repair. The fridge shelves and drawers have cracked numerous times and are now taped with duct tape as the replacements are too expensive to keep replacing! The stove elements are no longer working so in process of finding repairs. Not hopeful. Very disappointed with the product line.
Friends who had Viking in the past had good things to say. But it was the quality and the nice looks of it that made me decide to go with them. However, I was surprised that the hinges on the door had to be replaced so soon. The oven is about three and a half years and their warranty was only three years. The dealer was great though. When they called, they were engaged and got back to me right away. The oven is great. It has a good temperature and it feels very durable. Overall, I had a good experience with Viking. Ill definitely call them again if I ever should.
Viking had a sale going on. The refrigerator I was looking at was discounted and with the rebate I was getting, that put it in a price range that was comparable to Sub-Zero. Plus, the store was saying that they have had good success with the refrigerator and that people liked it. I decided to take a chance on their technology. So far, food doesnt go bad in it and I love it. The refrigerator has technology that pulls out the gas that makes food go bad. Before, I would wind up throwing so much food out because it goes bad by the time I get around to cooking. Now, I make less stops at the grocery store. Additionally, water that that comes from my Viking tastes really good. Its much better than the GE Monogram that I used to have. However, the ice maker has a little wire bar that comes down when the ice tray fills up. Its supposed to set off but then it goes a little overboard such that I find ice outside the ice tray. Still, this was the only thing that was wrong. This is the second Viking that I have had and I have been very pleased with the service. With the first one I had, there was moisture building up on the inside. Everything was getting wet inside that refrigerator and almost every day I had to wipe it down. I complained and Viking sent servicemen out a couple of times. They couldnt figure out why the door wasnt sealing properly. They told me that they couldnt figure out the issue and that they would just get me a new refrigerator. I didnt have to pressure them so much and they gave me a new unit that works. So far, it works fine and its beautiful. I like the way its saving me money through not wasting food. Ive already recommended Viking to other people. I let people who have stayed at my place see it and I tell them about the refrigerators technology. They have been saying its a beautiful refrigerator.
Our GE refrigerator doesnt have as good as the quality that we expected for the price. The worst part is I cant really get it cleaned. I follow the instructions as to how to get that stainless cleaned and it doesnt do what the manual tells me. It doesnt really look like I would want it to look, which is to look uniform. It doesnt come out even and the surface is so bad to clean that I keep those fiberglass things so that when I open and close the doors, I dont have to do the handles constantly. And the other thing which we didnt know when we purchased it was we just assumed it had an ice maker and it doesnt have an ice maker.
I need someone to come and look at my Viking refrigerator ‘cause a couple of buttons outside are not working. The temperature management is not working. I can’t adjust it. But I like the style of the refrigerator and the way it looks. The lighting is pretty cool too.
I wanted a commercial grade oven for the new house because I do a lot of entertaining so I got a Viking range. I, however, had problems with it. Six out of the eight burners failed during the installation. I then called in warranty replacement and they sent the company out and theyre supposedly on back order. Ive been waiting for the replacements for six weeks now. I have two working burners for a $13,000 oven. Im not happy at all.
Viking was supposed to be a quality brand. Ive had the range for a year now and its not properly working. Ive had to have repairman after repairman in and out of my home and the problem is still not resolved 100% so its a bit of an issue. After nine months of not working properly, they decided to replace the whole range. And now, the parts that I had purchased that are supposed to fit the same year dont fit because a piece of it is warped. We finally got the other oven working because I didnt have both sides working for a whole year. And now that we finally got it working, the griddle that they replaced it with is warped. They had someone come out and look at it and it needed to be replaced. But Vikings saying that he didnt say that it was warped when I was standing right there and he did say it. They said that theyre not replacing it basically. So now, I have a warped griddle that I cant cover.I thought I was buying a luxury piece of equipment for my home and now its just been one thing after another and no ones been helpful. I havent heard from them for probably two to three weeks on what theyre going to do about the warped griddle so I just have another defective piece of whatever. It would be nice if I could go back and if they would refund me and I would purchase a completely different brand so that I could get some customer service.
We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t get it.
I heard about Viking over the years being quality, so I was excited when I could finally get my own. I got my stove in November and we would hear this loud noise as we were heating up the oven and I didnt worry about it. It sounded like metal bending and I said, Oh, its just new. It just needs some time to loosen up, warm up, get used to -- just to be operated. But it kept happening. My daughters like, Mommy, I dont know. This doesnt sound right. It keeps doing this. We finally decided to call. First, I called the place that I made the purchase from and he didnt return my call. So, I decided to call Viking directly and they were very helpful, told me there was a recall on the part of that particular series, and then the ball started moving. They took care of it, told me what was going to happen and what we needed to do. Right now, Im waiting for parts to be delivered to me. I already have a contact person that they gave me that will do the installation of those parts. They recommended me not to use the oven. I can use the stovetop, but not the oven. So, thats what Ive been doing for the last two weeks. I love the stovetop. It gives very even cooking. Also, I like that you can take the whole top part. Each piece comes off so I can get to every part to clean it.
I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.
I already had a Viking oven so I wanted the appliances to match. I like the way the refrigerator looks and so far, the quality is good. The people I dealt with in sales didn’t have all the information I needed but they were fine. It was just because I had researched it and I knew a lot more about the fridge than they did. That aside, I would advise others to make sure their measurements are right when looking into Viking refrigerators.
I have renovated and used this Viking Ranges in 6 homes. Not only are they amazing, I believe they help sell the house as well. I enclosed a picture showing the matching dishwasher that I used in my current home. It is equally amazing and most of all quiet.
I was looking on the internet to see what was the best product for the oven and I got a good price when I tried to buy one from Viking Ranges. I had a good experience with the Viking dealership when I purchased it. I got good service from the sales reps and they gave to me all the information that I needed. But I have some problems with my oven, since it doesn’t put any heat up, and I need a service technician to do some repairs.
Im satisfied with the quality of my Viking Refrigerator. I had three Viking appliances and when the dishwasher was having an issue, they replaced it. I was satisfied with their customer service.
The refrigerator (D3) has broken 3 times in the 2 years that Ive owned it. I waited over 1 month the first time it broke for a new compressor to be delivered to the repair service. I have never had such a poor quality product.
I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.
Viking Ranges has a good name and their product was what my wife wanted. The quality of the range that we bought from them is fine and we like its looks. Weve only had it for a month or so and we haven’t done a whole lot of cooking or baking on it, but we’re happy with it. The Viking range, though, is very expensive.
I am dissatisfied with my Viking Refrigerator. I like its size but its quality is just average. It looks good but its not durable. Ive already had to replace the ice maker after three years. The finish isnt finger proof so I had to clean it nonstop. I have other appliances from them too, like their whole cooking range, two ovens and a dishwasher, and I also got issues with those.
We were promised the delivery date of our Viking Range was some time at the end of June of last year. But we kept getting pushed off. We were told it would be two more weeks. It just kept going and going. Finally, we got ahold of somebody high up in Pirch who said that we might not have it until the middle of this year. We started calling around. I decided that if I couldnt have a Viking, it was okay because I just wanted an oven. I hadnt had one in almost a year. We finally found someplace in New York that had a model that we ended up purchasing. It got delivered in November of last year, five months after our original date was promised and it was dented. We got ahold of somebody. They told us that they would get a new part out to us. But we still havent gotten a new part out. Im super disappointed. It was also broken when it was delivered and it took five weeks to get it fixed. But I love cooking on it. Its amazing. Weve made some pizza dough and Ive used the proofing feature, which I didnt even know it had. That was really cool.
The door does not shut properly and the racks inside are not easily moved in and out of the oven. The racks just scrape the lips they sit on. For the oven to keep the consistent temperature the oven constantly audibly relights when baking. I wish I had bought a Thermador.
I have an electric oven from Viking Ranges and it works okay. They had somebody who was very good at installing it. The only thing is we have a little problem with taking one of the racks out in the oven. We have no problem with the others and we can pull them out all the way. We have a problem with holding one of them and we thought maybe were doing something wrong. If I cant figure it out, Im going to call somebody to look at it because I have insurance on it.But other than that, I like it. I like that I can go off to the other side on the top and that I could move from one area to another easily. I like that its apple red because I dont like the stainless steel which is so hard to clean. I also like the way the knobs are covered from the top and its size. I like everything about it. My friend also has a Viking and she only has broil and regular bake on it. I like the simpler one but mine has all these other options that Im working on how to figure it out. I recommend it and I already had to a friend because of my experience in New Hampshire.
I’ve gone through lots of refrigerators and this Viking refrigerator, which Ive had for three months now is a very good unit. Its door is really solid and heavy. I also got a warranty card. Viking is a great brand.
Our builder sent us to his appliance vendor to select kitchen appliances, whereupon a salesman convinced us to upgrade to Viking--there was some kind of package deal on at the time. The first 2 years were marked by constant frustration. The fridge had no shortage of problems (our version had a fridge above and freezer below). The hinges were replaced by a factory-authorized repairman twice (the first time, he forgot to lubricate them, and we ended up with a small pile of metal dust from the grinding metal parts). It took several attempts to get the door to stop swinging 180 degrees. The metal freezer rack started rusting (the factory sent the wrong part for the first attempted repair). Later, the thermostat failed and had to be replaced (it was actually my co-worker who diagnosed the problem--meanwhile, the distributor denied that could be the issue). At some point, I noticed the plastic door gasket was tearing, but I let that one go. These days, every time I look at the fridge, I cant help but notice that it isnt aligned properly. And of course, we never even thought to look at the Energy Guide sticker, where I was surprised to find its rated one of the least efficient refrigerators in its class.The oven arrived with a faulty door. A new one arrived, but the repairman sent it back because it had been damaged in shipping. The second warranty repair seemed OK, but my wife was always unhappy at how long it took for the oven to warm up. The microwaves magnetron failed under warranty and was replaced. But this morning, the microwave started arcing, smoking, and making spectacular sparks from behind the back panel. Its now 6 years old, and I think its life has ended.Im pleased to say that we did not roll over and play dead, and successfully argued our case to get Viking to cover all of our problems under warranty (except todays event). But my wife and I lead busy lives, and its been very draining to be constantly booking appointments, waiting around for repair people to show, and badgering the company. When we first bought Viking, I read all about how they studied and learned from Toyotas quality control systems. All I can say is, they couldnt have been paying much attention on those trips to Japan.
I like that Vikings interior was metal and not plastic. Its a beautiful 42 inch brand new fridge but my experience with it has been sucky. The ice maker didnt work. It would make one layer and then it would stop. It took three trips from the repairman to fix it and it was frustrating. They came here once and couldnt figure it out. They brought a new ice maker and put it in. It still didnt work. I had to call again and they told me stupid things to do like turning down the freezer, but it was already at minus one. How the hell low do they want me to make the freezer? Then they changed the ice maker again. It is now fixed and doing good but Im worried that its gonna go out of warranty if it breaks again. I wasnt happy with the service at all.
It’s been the worst nightmare that I’ve ever experienced on an appliance with this amount of money. I had a Hardwick oven when I bought my house in 1985. I replaced it because we couldn’t get parts with it, and I needed a whole kitchen. So I figured I’d buy really good high-end appliances. So I bought an Electrolux refrigerator and then a Bosch dishwasher. I got a Viking electric wall oven, convection microwave, and a range. I’ve had problems with the range coming in cosmetically. There were a lot of inherent little scratches, and they took care of that. I couldn’t get it to work as well. For some reason when you put it on convection bake, it shuts off. It’s got a mind of its own and this is a $5,000 appliance. Thank God I bought it from ABW because they’ve been wonderful to deal with. After a year and a half, I had every single part replaced three times including cosmetic parts. The other thing is every time they come in and they would take it apart, the repairman would inherently scratch the surface or would chip on the bottom because it’s porcelain-lined and has to take the bottom out. I also have to check and put my hand over the vent to see if the heat is going on and I shouldn’t have to do that. So I finally convinced them that it’s a lemon. Viking had their representative come out from another repair place because they didn’t believe that the people at ABW were handling it properly. The representative replaced the part and it still didn’t work, so Viking replaced the range. The second one was a little better. Then when I turned it on and off, I still have the same kind of issues but I can’t go through a repairman coming in my house for another two years. They need to fix it. It’s a damn oven and it doesn’t work on the convection bake cycle. I like the convection bake cycle, that’s why I bought it.I probably have the biggest file on them. What’s really bad is that I found out later from another guy who delivered that this Viking range has problems and they just wouldn’t admit it. There’s something wrong with it and its motherboard but I have no idea what it is and I need it to work. It only came with a one-year warranty, but they promised to give me a two-year warranty on the replacement because of the issues that I had with it, and I haven’t heard anything from Viking. I reported it to them because I thought it would be a learning experience. The other thing is the cooktop. We bought it because it has steel burners and a porcelain back top. I cook nothing but the condensation of the water. With the other top I had, it stained in two places when the condensation of the pot hit the water. It was a mess. But this one seems to be better. I haven’t had problems with the convection and I haven’t had operational problems with the electric, but this gas has been a huge disappointment. If it lasts how long it lasts, I will never buy another Viking product again. It’s like it’s possessed. It’s supposed to be high end and not a cheap appliance. I wish I had my 30-year-old Hardwick back. Otherwise, I’ve had no problems. It’s a beautiful-looking appliance. I would never recommend to a friend to buy a Viking.They’re coming on Friday and would be replacing the two cosmetic parts that were scratched upon delivery. I have to stay home from work again for them to come over. This has been going on for almost two years. I have my daughter who’s an attorney and I was going to sue them. They had two contractors who came out and two different companies who said that there’s nothing they can replace it with anymore. They replaced it, but it was a fight.
I wanted top-quality appliances and Ive known about Viking for a long time. My range has been installed for a week, and its my first one from Viking. Its good so far and the reps were very nice.
Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.
We remodeled our apartment a few years ago with a new kitchen. I wanted to use all American made appliances and purchased Viking products to include: Oven, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. I have had issues with all the appliances and most have been resolved but my refrigerator ice maker remains unrepairable. The refrigerator is no longer under warranty but I have tried for years to have the ice maker repaired at different times. It will work for a very short duration and then will build up ice and the whole refrigerator needs to be defrosted and a part needs to be replaced. Here are some of my out of pocket costs: 5/7/18 $89.95, 2/6/18 $142.70, 11/8/16 $256.00, 10/26/16 $59.95.Viking initially was receptive to trying to help me resolve this issue but of late I received this email. I was told we unfortunately cannot issue another warranty authorization for you but to contact Appliance Pros since the part is still covered for a year after installed by authorized service company. The repair technician can no longer fix my appliance as in his opinion, the ice maker is a lemon. He is the owner of Appliance Pros which has been on Vikings approved vendor list and he has serviced it since the problems began. Now I am left with a very expensive refrigerator that cant make ice (in Florida) and I have no recourse. I would not recommend that anyone buy Viking products! They should be replacing the refrigerator given all we have dealt with and the amount of money we spent on their products and make good on their lemon refrigerator.
