I purchased all Viking appliances for my newly remodeled kitchen 2 years ago. I have had to have each of them repaired at least once. I am currently waiting for the fourth service call on the refrigerator. There is only one warranty repair service company in my area and I have to wait at least 2 weeks to get service. The dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and 6 burner dual fuel range are not worth the money I spent. I would absolutely not recommend Viking appliances to anyone. I am very concerned what they will cost to repair when the warranties expire. I would strongly suggest potential consumers to look for an alternative product unless you enjoy waiting for repair service.

We purchased a 30 Viking range. It is all gas. We have experienced extremely hot wall tile directly above grate that lines the back edge of range when gas oven is on. Water droplets run down the tile for first few minutes of preheating. I am worried to use the oven since tiles at back get very hot. I rarely use oven and we spent so much money to purchase Viking. Also there was a recall on a oven part and we had Viking service is already 3 times. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

We bought a high-end Viking refrigerator for our home only to have the motherboard go bad. We called a repair person recommended by Viking and he said this is the second call regarding this issue he has received today. Apparently Viking is doing nothing to help customers with what seems to be a known problem. Shame on them!

Bought a Viking range due to their good warranty and so far, the quality is good. But I had a little bit of an issue in the beginning. The range wasnt holding the right temperature and it had to do with a computer glitch within the motherboard. So I called up Viking, and with the warranty, they sent someone within the week, and he fixed it, and I havent had a problem since. Everything in general is very high-quality made. The people at the Viking dealer at P.C. Richard were knowledgeable and overall, it was an excellent experience.

Viking Ranges has a good name and their product was what my wife wanted. The quality of the range that we bought from them is fine and we like its looks. Weve only had it for a month or so and we haven’t done a whole lot of cooking or baking on it, but we’re happy with it. The Viking range, though, is very expensive.

We bought an entire kitchen of Viking appliances (fridge, range, oven, microwave, etc.). By far the worst is the refrigerator. Every time the machine has broken down, we call Viking for their recommendation which always is to pay more than $1000 for replacement parts. Weve done this now at least 4-5 times, but on todays visit the certified repairman told us it would be more than $1000 and he could not guarantee it would work (the immediately prior visit was 3 months ago and $1500 - on Vikings advice, naturally). Viking offered us 10% off on a new refrigerator - that would be less than we spent on the last repair. Todays Viking rep didnt seem to understand why I didnt think that was a good deal....hmmm..

We bought a house and it already had a Viking range and some other Viking appliances. I had an opportunity to use the old range, and I liked it. It was a good range but it was like 20 years old and essentially needed to be replaced. So I went with Viking because I had an opportunity to use it and the price also played a role a bit when compared to Wolf, and then the features. I had issues with the oven not working. I bought the range through Best Buy and they had to bring two service people out to get it fixed. Ive been a little disappointed that I did have issues with the oven not working and a couple other things but, overall, its a good range.

We liked the bulkier look of the hood that went with the Viking range and we couldnt find that particular hood in any other brand. We also wanted all of the appliances to be the same brand. We got the range and so far, the quality is good. I also like the griddle part of it. Its nice to have that option rather than having a toaster if Im heating up small things.

We bought Viking Professional which we thought would have been their best of the best and we’ve not been happy with it. I was really excited about the purchase and it’s been a disappointment. With the first fridge we had, water was pooling. We had three different service guys out, the last one being a Viking service person who couldn’t figure it out. They ended up replacing it, and with the fridge that they replaced it with, the door is not aligned correctly. We’ve had two people out to try to fix that and that has been unsuccessful. After three service calls, a fridge replacement and two additional service calls, six different times I’ve spent the day in the house waiting, we’re done. I would tell anybody else not to purchase it because it’s a lot of money and we’re settling because I’m truthfully just tired of it. I wouldn’t purchase another one.

We needed a range that fits so we looked around and we heard of Viking. I looked in the store and I liked the look of the range. It was 25 inches deep which was the right size for our already built kitchen. It also had the right functionality. We saw several competitors whose second oven was way too small but Viking also had two good sized ovens in a 48-inch range. Plus, we’ve been pleased with the gas cooktop. It seemed to be much more efficient than our previous gas cooktops. We used AJ Madison online and we went with them rather than locally for the speed of delivery. I want the range as soon as I could so my wife could start using the kitchen. They promised us delivery within 10 days. However, it still took 21 days. And then the problem was that they did not install at the same time of the delivery which was what I would asked them to do. So, we then had to have the range sitting on the metal screw unable to get it hooked up for nearly two weeks because they didnt install the legs properly on the range. It was potentially damaging the hardwood, and it was a truly terrible experience. The timing and the delivery experience was poor. Plus, we had to have someone come in and install the range instead. We were better off going with the local company after all. There were other problems when it was installed like, aesthetically, the dials on the front of the range were not level, so they were all over the place. Another thing was the part hooked to the range underneath the oven was bent and so we had to have a replacement ordered. The oven doors were not level and they sloped off it that those in the left don’t want to slide down to the left. The right won’t slide down to the right. Also, within the oven, there was lots of the kind of ceramic coating that had already chipped off. So, we are having a replacement in the interior of the oven as well. We got to the point where we were wiping sharp ceramic shards. It has been three weeks now since we had the Viking technician out to look at the range and I’ve had no communication when they are going to come and fix it. I contacted Viking two times trying to find someone who could help me install. It also took a week dealing with the Viking reps to get them to have a wise conversation. I found Viking to be very unresponsive. So I like the range itself and the quality would be very cool but it was awful for a $12,000 range. It has not been a great experience all way around.

Use of 48 inch range - The Cobalt blue range is beautiful. The burners and oven works very well. Two flaws (1) the large oven has three racks with only one that completely pulls out making it difficult to clean the back of the other two. Cooking a large turkey looks to be a problem. (2) The all gas range does not have a self cleaning option. We smell gas for a few minutes when the oven is turned on.

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. They stand by their product. I will be a Viking owner for life.

We had a Garland in a big farmhouse 45 years ago, then we moved to Viking about 30 years ago. Its an upgrade cause Viking has the burners. This cant leak all the crud down around the burners, so this is much better. However, purchasing it was terrible. We were getting ready to do our renovation, and my husband had to spend quite a bit of time tracking things down. Our stove has just been installed and we love it. Its our second one and its beautiful. Its a good solid stove.

I’ve had two other Viking kitchens and I like the quality and the look of the product. The cost is a little bit high. But I like having the broiler in the oven. It’s high temp so it’s easy to cook indoors when you can’t go outside to grill. The appliance dealer was very difficult to deal with. They provided no information as to the status where my stuff was. So I actually had to get Kevin Brown, the CEO of Viking involved. Everything’s here now but if I had I not gotten Kevin involved this could’ve gone on forever. The customer service of Viking and the inside sales manager did a fabulous job at pulling us out of the ditch. Viking itself handled themselves very well. We were remodeling our house and I needed a bigger refrigerator. Viking was one of the better ones on the market so we got their 48-inch refrigerator. We also ended up getting all Viking appliances (a range, a hood, and a stove) because I wanted to stay with the same brand for resale purposes. However, we’ve only bought the refrigerator in November and in February, the mechanism that defrosts the coils in the freezer went out, and trying to get that fixed was not pleasant. I called Viking on a couple occasions and they said they had three contractors for us but two of them didn’t service refrigerators down in South Florida. The third company sent a guy out and he said he’ll defrost it. I told him we’ve been defrosting it every other day for a month while waiting for him to come out. He said “Well, I got to try this anyway and if it doesn’t work then call us back.” He defrosted it and two days later, it was icing over again. So I called the company back and they said I needed to replace the mechanism that defrosts it. They have it back ordered and I had to wait another month for them to get the part. I spent two months with a $10,000 refrigerator and I had to take a heat gun every other day and defrost the coils in the freezer so I wouldnt lose everything in it.After the mechanism went out, my husband read on forums that our refrigerator’s issue is a common Viking problem. And the tech they sent out didn’t speak English, which is fine because I speak Spanish. I kept asking, “Well, what is actually the problem?” And he said, “Well, it just needs to be defrosted.” He wanted me to sign all these forms and I said, “Look, I am not paying for this because this should be under my extended warranty that I paid for.” He said I had to sign it and that’s the only time I got him to tell me what he thought was wrong with our fridge. When I had to call back, I told them not to send the same guy but they did. He had no social skills. He didn’t even introduce himself when he showed up and left without saying anything. I had to track him outside the driveway and ask if it was already fixed. He said, “Well, just watch it. If it frosts over again then you’re gonna have to call another service ticket on it.”Though the Viking dealers were nice and helpful, the service could be way better. The number that I was provided for servicing in my purchase packet was redirecting me to the store so I had to call them and try to find servicing for it. I sat on hold trying to get someone for almost an hour to answer the phone. If I’m gonna be on hold for a long time, they should send my call to a voicemail and call me back. Other than the mechanism going out in less than a year, everything else has worked beautifully. The refrigerator keeps my fruits and vegetables fresher way longer than the last refrigerator we had. I liked that I always have space in it, and I also love the other appliances that we bought. I wouldn’t recommend the refrigerator for the price, but the other appliances, I would.

I purchased a Viking Refrigerator DTBB363R had several repairs. Now, I get a recall with the option to purchase at $3,600 plus tax. The Viking representative caught me off guard with offering a new refrigerator which is configured exactly the same with a new warranty at half the original price. My receipt from Sun Appliance shows we paid $4,490 on October 7, 2003. We are retired on a fixed income and feel this is unjustified. We feel we are caught between the eight ball. We do not want a defective product that could injure someone. And since the refrigerator has custom panels to match the custom kitchen design, we have no other choice but to purchase another one. When I renovated my kitchen in 2007, I purchased the Viking Professional Series dishwasher, fridge and gas top stove. IVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF THEM. After spending $11,000.00+ for these three appliances (that came highly recommended by the salesperson at a large, high end appliance store), I expected a good quality product to don my newly renovated dream kitchen... WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!Initially, the appliances all Sat in their boxes until my kitchen renovation was completed about 6 months after my purchases. Several months after installing the appliances, the DISHWASHER broke... the water would not drain properly. Viking repair man fixed, then happened again about a year later. I asked Viking rep to replace product since same issue was re-occurring and appeared to be a pre-existing problem. I was told no; that since the dishwasher was still under warranty they would send another repair man. Fixed again... then same thing happened again within a year... except now (even though they Sat unopened in boxes first the 6 months) the warranty was over.I was told the diverter valve needed replaced, and it would cost over $600.00 to repair!!! I was beside myself, I called Viking and said this was ridiculous since this was a pre-existing problem and I should not have to pay for repair. Well we all know their response... Cant help as no longer under warranty. A frightening and dangerous feature of the GAS STOVE TOP is the design of the on/off knobs. I am all of 110 lbs, and sometimes when I lean forward to stir a pot on a back burner, the pressure from my body will actually turn the flame from the front burner on!!! Also, periodically when I turn one burner on, one of the burners that is off will make a clicking noise. The REFRIGERATOR water dispenser broke after the first year. Later had troubles with the ice maker bar getting stuck in the on position, and more recently the clear plastic on the large pull out drawer cracked. Finally, the other day the refrigerator just stopped working - like it went into a defrost mode - ruined all frozen foods, and most of the refrigerated items. I called the store where I purchased the Vikings to see if maybe the refrigerator was still under warranty - they said no. I mentioned all the troubles I have had with these products, and the sales representative said they stopped carrying Viking products. I think that says it all!!!The repairman came, said it was the poorly designed freon line which was directed into a drip pan (for cooling purposes) causing the line to rust/corrode, and consequently leak the freon. He was surprised to see this since he said, running the line in this manner was stopped years ago. The repair was estimated at $600.00 to replace the line, but possibly $1000.00+ if other related problems were found. The repair man said probably better to cut my losses and go with a more reliable refrigerator like GE, Kenmore or Whirlpool - rather than throwing good money after bad. Like many I want to repair since cheaper than buying new... but based on reading these postings, and past repair experiences... Im afraid of getting burned once again. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place. :(I would NEVER, ever recommend buying these overly expensive appliances built with their cheap parts, and poor design features. I feel like I spent a lot of money and never received a good return on my hard earned dollars. Should be illegal. Guy who mentioned a class action suit may be on to something.

I had nothing but headaches with my Viking Refrigerator because of the little thing at the top for ventilation. The guy installed it too far to one way. He acted like he knew what he was doing and as though it was no problem. He took the tape off, and put it all the way to the right when it should’ve been centered up. The guy from Pac Sales says they’re not going to do anything about it. I said, “I’m an older person. I can’t take it off.” We’ve got to pull the refrigerator out and the thing at the top. My real dilemma is that they want me to take it off, take it down to the store and get the new one to put it back on. The lady says, “Well, why don’t you hire a handyman to do that?” I go, “A handyman? That’s gonna cost me money to have a handyman take this off.” I felt very dissatisfied with that situation. I like the refrigerator and how it’s keeping certain things cold. Its roomy with lots of different compartments. Its really nice and looks beautiful. My favorite feature would be the ice deal because I can just scoop it out. But I’m having a problem with the filler thing, that I feel I’ve been gypped. I should’ve been more assertive towards the salesman and the others. I was lost in the delivery and now I’m at odds with them to have it fixed. Viking should have some very faint lines from the top of the refrigerator where they should’ve had the insert.

Ive been trying to get somebody from Viking to help me for about two and a half months now and Im not happy. Within a matter of two days, I had all four drawers of my refrigerator completely break. The top two where I put cheese and ham, cracked all the way across the plastic. The bottom ones are absolutely broken and shattered in pieces. It must be a plastic piece that goes around it that is cracked. And apparently, there is a bolt that goes in the door that stops it from swinging open when I open it, and that broke too. Now, when I open the door, it swings into the double oven and the handles of the double oven have now made dents or scratches on the door of the refrigerator. Right now, I have a towel tied around the double Viking Professional oven handle, my $12,000 refrigerator is completely broken, and I cant even have anybody to come over to my house with this looking like this. No one has gotten back to me. Ferguson has been wonderful and gave me the name of somebody to come out and see what could be done or if it was on a recall list, and that guy that was called wouldnt even come out to the house to look at it. He said there was nothing he could do as Im not under warranty. Im really frustrated. Its ridiculous to pay this kind of money and itd be five years old and all of a sudden it just breaks.I looked up on the internet to see if anybody else was having those problems, and apparently, theres been a lot of people that had the same problem with the drawers cracking and breaking. The top ones where I put ham and cheese in look bad, but I can still use them. However, the ones at the bottom where I put lettuce, vegetables, and tomatoes, I cant even use. Theyre in probably about 10 pieces. I talked to customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do and that to order me four new drawers, it would be about $1,200. Is there somebody else that I can speak to? Nope. Thats it. I am really pissed. Furthermore, in the very beginning, the girl at customer service wouldnt even talk to me because she said I had not registered. I guess I had to register the products with Viking for any call backs and warranties, and until I did that, she wouldnt even talk to me. So I did that. I had to find the receipt from five years ago when we purchased it, with the purchase number and address. Then I called her back and theres nothing they can do. This was after the approved repairman for Viking wouldnt even come out. I said I didnt understand as the reason that we purchased Viking is we assumed that they would stand behind their product. They said they do, but it does not feel like that for me.

A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it about five years ago. The refrigerator was built-in and custom-made for the area. And then, the freezer is separate from the actual refrigerator so its got two separate doors. Though very expensive, Viking is a good quality refrigerator. In the last couple of months however, all of a sudden, our refrigerators cooling was not being controlled by the digital display. Its not working even if we tried to actually increase the cooling. So, the technician came in and put in some gas as a refrigerant. And then, he told us to monitor it for another week and if everything will be fine, it’ll remain fine. If not, there’s apparently a small leak somewhere. And then he also told us what it would take to replace the refrigerator if needed or if the same refrigerator has to be replaced with the parts.

My refrigerator is working great and my favorite feature is the internal water dispenser found on the door. Then for the dishwasher, I had to call the Viking dealer for repair. They came and repaired it under the warranty and kept me up to date on getting the part. It has been an excellent experience.

Ive known about Viking for years. Ive had Sub-Zero for years, but we just replaced it with the Viking. I liked the quality of the Viking refrigerator I received. It’s a side-by-side refrigerator. However, there’s one thing I don’t like and that is there are no shelves on the freezer side of the door. There are shelves on the door on the top, but just not on the bottom. I’m used to the Sub-Zero having the shelving all the way down on the door.

Viking is overpriced garbage. The larger oven bottom metal has warped badly. The stove top burners are hard to auto light. The middle griddle has had a temperature control problem since new and now barely heats up. The fridge/freezer condensation drip pan on the bottom overflows every other month. I believe this is because they tried to not use an electric heater for evaporation to save electricity but it is an energy pig anyways. I changed the ice maker which now works fine because it isnt made by Viking. The through the door ice dispenser has never worked consistently even after being replaced. The hood is okay but is a ** to clean properly. An appliance repairman told me Kitchen Aid is much better quality and the parts are cheaper but more reliable.

The fridge experienced two problems after only six years of use that cost over $2090 in repairs. The dishwasher only washes pre cleaned and washed dishes. In other words all it does is disinfect... There are better and less expensive ways!!! And if one has a complaint the standard answer is the lack of FINISH products. Is this real or some kind of scam!!!

After multiple service calls to repair/replaced the igniters on our Viking Professional Range, we now keep a fire starter on the range top to ignite the burners. Two local service companies will not warranty either the Viking igniters or their repair/replacement because igniter parts are consistently defective if they are even available from Viking Parts. Viking Ranges will not return our calls. Nice range with chronically defective parts that are impossible to repair/replace. After more than $1,700 in igniter repair/replacement, dont expect to light my stove without a fire stick. Remember, most Viking sales people are painfully aware of the problem but totally avoid the issue before you purchase the range.

My Viking dishwasher is terrible, but my oven has been great. It has been perfect and I love it. I like the looks of it too. I can set most of the pots and pans on there without them being crowded. Its sturdy and Ive really enjoyed it. I don’t necessarily know how to clean out the vented area and that’s the depressing stuff that I don’t like about it. On the other hand, my dishwasher is like an expensive drying rack and Viking doesn’t know when theyre going to get the parts to me. I would love it if it works just like the oven did. Our countertops are being replaced, so I have nowhere to wash dishes right now. The other thing is when I tried to register my appliances online. It was just really weird. For whatever reason, the model numbers that are on the appliances has to be entered differently. I had to call in the center because there was one too many numbers are not enough but their staff was super nice.

We purchased a gas 48 inch Viking, 6 burner, 1 griddle range from a Viking Range Certified Kitchen company. In the first 3 years, under warranty, it was serviced 3 times for overheating and shutting off after 40 minutes at 400+ degrees. After the warranty lapsed, we had a 4th service call with estimated parts and repair at (00 for hinges. We were told the hinges were not holding the door to create a strong enough seal within the oven and the heat fried the control module. We contacted Viking Range, who agreed the hinges were a manufacturing defect and replaced the hinges. Six months later, using the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes-- it shuts off and the ignition spark went off (sparking but not catching for about 30 minutes until we had to pull the huge oven away from the wall and unplug it). Another service call, another $900 to explain why the oven overheats-- this time saying the seal on the door isnt trapping heat and the heat is again reaching the control module. This oven is defective, we have never been able to use it above 450, which is why I bought it in the first place. It was a $9,000 stove with a $2000 vent hood and over $3000 has been spent in under 5 years to maintain it. Viking Range will not claim responsibility for what we know to clearly be a faulty unit.

I like that Vikings interior was metal and not plastic. Its a beautiful 42 inch brand new fridge but my experience with it has been sucky. The ice maker didnt work. It would make one layer and then it would stop. It took three trips from the repairman to fix it and it was frustrating. They came here once and couldnt figure it out. They brought a new ice maker and put it in. It still didnt work. I had to call again and they told me stupid things to do like turning down the freezer, but it was already at minus one. How the hell low do they want me to make the freezer? Then they changed the ice maker again. It is now fixed and doing good but Im worried that its gonna go out of warranty if it breaks again. I wasnt happy with the service at all.

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

We know and we like Viking so we go Viking all the way. We have two stoves, one gas, one electric, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Theyre easy to use and everythings upfront. Everything else we buy these days, including a car, comes with a tutorial on DVDs and 48-page pamphlets just to introduce the other pamphlets. But Viking we just look at it and there it is. Our Viking refrigerator is only a few days old and so far its been fine compared to the other one, which was a disaster. Its very steady and has a door alarm. In case I get caught in a fugue like state I can always be reminded by the alarm. And everythings uniform in terms of refrigeration throughout the compartment, which we like. I also like that it has a barrier bar between in the back of the right hand door so when we’re closing it it really seals. The ice maker is good. We can turn it off if we dont want it and there are no issues about leaks and going into trays. It is very self-contained and efficient. The Viking dealer have very friendly folks. They told us about others brands, more for contrast. They didn’t try to sell us anything else. Once they saw we were going Viking they reinforced things and they were very efficient. There was a lot of communication. They called us back and forth. The driver with the appliance had called us three times telling about his route. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, price wise and in terms of the delivery date and the people who brought it in. The delivery folks were great. They spent over an hour leveling things and they did a great job. They were very careful and neat and one of the best deliveries weve had since we were here. The only thing that Id have to get used to is the bottom drawer which is a long drawer and gives good storage for the cold zone but theres nothing about that that we use right now. Although I could see for the future we might be loading different sorts of perishables in there. We have to open both doors to get that lower drawer open. Its not a problem it just culturally I hadnt been doing that. And should a friend ask me about Viking refrigeration I’d say, “If youre rich, get it.”

I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

The Viking stovetop is a safe stove and the quality is good. I use it almost every day. However, after I’m done using it, the fans inside it turns on twice to get rid of the hot air. And then it makes noise for an hour or sometimes even longer. I just use the oven to bake a tiny bit of stuff but now I don’t want to use it often because I don’t like to hear that noise. The stove itself is good but that oven is a problem and it’s annoying. When it’s working, it’s okay. I stop it and it starts to have something wrong. I won’t recommend it.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray
The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

I bought my first Viking Professional eight years ago for aesthetic purpose
I bought my first Viking Professional eight years ago for aesthetic purposes and alleged reliability. Unfortunately, the freezer section broke down five years into it and I subsequently had to pay $1,000 to get that fixed. Where I am now, all of the built-ins of the Viking Professional line were already installed when I got here and six months into using it, one of the the refrigerator sections broke down even though my freezer section was cooling. I had not registered my refrigerator, but the customer service center expedited the service and the authorization code to the local service center so that we could address it quickly. Luckily, the repair guy had the part on hand or I would have been sitting without a refrigerator for a week or two if he had to order it. But he told me that he has seen this before with all the built-ins. The one that I have retails for $12,000 and if Im paying top of the line for the Viking Professional line, I expect some type of reliability. So Im a little disappointed. They probably didn’t engineer a certain piece correctly and in the manufacturing world, that may cause the piece to break down sooner rather than later or stop functioning the way it needs to.I have friends who use Sub-Zero, which has a price point thats a little higher, and I have other friends who have Wolf. When I benchmark my peers and what we have, mine’s average in terms of reliability. I don’t know their everyday details but I expect a little more reliability especially for the first five years of a product. Viking Professional is perceived as a high quality brand appliance and I think the salespeople and the dealer provide service to the best of their knowledge, but my personal experience has been such that I question the reliability of it. It hasnt met my expectations and unfortunately, I cant return it either.

Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

I was so happy when we bought our beautiful (blue!) range and fridge in 2011 for our weekend cottage, which is only important because they did not even have daily use. Within the first 2 years the fridge started leaking, the ice maker broke numerous times, the drawers cracked (replacements were hard to find and ridiculously expensive) and now the temperature cannot be adjusted and everything in the fridge freezes. The range is no better. The temperature is uneven, one knob came off, the doors (both) came off their hinges. Now only the small oven closes properly and I have to lean against the large door to get an accurate amount of heat. I’ve spent hours trying to find somebody to fix these two items. When I did, they charged a fortune and the repair lasted no longer than a few weeks. Since about a year I have given up and am living with the expensive mistake I made 9 years ago. I’ve tried contacting Viking directly but they were no help either. I will never buy a Viking again.

Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. Poor design on what otherwise could have been a nice unit since it did a great job cleaning dishes. I just purchased a new unit from another company.

I have a lot of problems with Viking. The oven is really loud. When you set the temperature for 300, it goes to 300, and then it tries to go on and off just to maintain the temperature. I can hear that on and off sound -- the clicking and the sparks -- in the living room which is a good 30 or 40 feet away. I dont know if I have a faulty unit or thats the way its built. Also, the dishwasher doesnt really clean really well. Ive looked online and at the manual. I tried to tweak things like settings and gears. I also make sure I use rinse aid and high-quality detergents but there have been some issues. One more thing was the fridge. When I set it at a temperature like 37 degrees Fahrenheit, things start freezing in the back of the fridge. If I put a jar of olives towards the back of the fridge, it gets frozen. These are very expensive appliances and theyre considered high-end, but I dont feel like I have that quality in them. Ive had a Frigidaire fridge in my garage and Ive had it for about seven years, and thats working perfectly. I dont think I would recommend Viking but that could change. Ive been meaning to contact support and once I get in touch with them and they can help me resolve these issues, I think maybe it would be different.

A Viking range was in my home when we bought it. But that one was a demo in the store and when they installed it, they messed it up and burned up some of the wiring. I had trouble with it from the get-go, so it was replaced by Viking. Replacing it was a long, drawn-out process. But finally, after them trying to find the appropriate fix for the existing range, they said, “We’re done. We’re gonna replace it, no charge.” I like the new range and the grill is so pretty. The original one I had was so heavy. I’m a senior, and just picking up the grates was terrible. This new range I got is much easier to clean. They’ve broken it down, even the griddle and the parts that would have to be taken out, and cleaned are much lighter. They did a much better job on the newer models.

I love my Viking range. What I don’t like about it is when the knobs get a little bit older, the numbers rub off of them, and you cant use it. I never would have bought a Viking because of that reason at all. All my friends that have Viking, once their stove is a couple of years old, you can’t read anything on it. Wherein the Wolf stove, the numbers are embedded into the knobs so even if the paint wears off on them, you still have the numbers. The install of the Viking range was easy. But once it was installed, when I ran the convection fan, it was rubbing into something behind the stove. But the technician tried to come out and fix it to me. The other problem that I noticed with the Viking that Im gonna have to modify was I ordered the extended backsplash for it, and it doesnt fit. It was the proper extended backsplash for it so what I have to do is the stove has to be cut in order to accommodate the bigger backsplash. The backsplash is sitting at my house, unused, because Im going to wait for the factory warranty to expire on this, then Im going to cut the back of the stove and fit it.

Our 36 wide Professional 36 model Viking Range wouldnt hold the correct temperature and required six (yes 6) visits by the repairman to correct the problem. One might suspect that the repairman didnt know what they were doing, but its actually quite the contrary. They started the process by trying to eliminate the most commonly occurring problem(s) first, then moved on to the more complex issues. Bottom line, during the course of the multiple visits, the repairman said that it takes them an average of 4 to 6 visits to get Viking products working properly!!! (If I produced such an inferior product at my company Id have been out of business by now.) One big problem that still needs to be addressed is the obnoxiously noisy fan that Viking provided, to keep the oven cool enough to not melt the mother (control) board. Nothing like a roaring oven fan in the background when youre trying to have a quiet dinner conversation, eh? Personally, Id never buy OR recommend Viking to anyone, as the quality of their product is way beyond mediocre. Oh, almost forgot to talk about the problem were having with our Viking double door refrigerator, where when you close one door, the other pops open!!! Nothing like having quality (and pretty darn expensive) products in the kitchen to come home to every day, eh?

I have a thing for color and I have a lot of red in my house. I couldn’t decide if I wanted a range in cobalt blue or red. So I was searching the internet and I saw the deal that Viking was offering a free dishwasher if I bought the oven. It took me a while to decide on it if I was gonna buy from a dealer in New York and I wouldn’t have had to pay tax. But I wasn’t comfortable with that so I bought it from a dealer in Miami, which is where I live. I bought it in red and that’s cost me considerably more. They gave me the dishwasher but I bought the red panel which I had to pay for and I bought a Viking convection microwave which is not in color. It’s stainless. The first time I used the oven, I was really uncertain as to how quickly it cooks. So I called Viking and spoke to one of the representatives who happened to be a chef and I told her I was making lamb chops and she told me what to do. Now I have a little bit of difficulty in removing the shelves and lowering them ‘cause the pull-out shelves are in an obviously different way than regular ovens. I cooked the lamb chops a little too long so while they still came out great, I overdid them so I have to be a little careful in learning exactly how long I can put something in the oven or the broiler. And I’ve never cooked with infrared and it is fast. The range, when it turns on, it’s so fast and it boils water so quickly. The only problem I did have initially was that the broiler can that came with it was a piece of junk. It looks like it came from a $500 oven. I read the user’s instructions and it said, “Use no chemicals at all. I bought special cloth in Sweden to clean it. But the pan, the first time I used it, the surface started to come off. So they sent me a new one and the new one looks exactly like the oven rack which is what should have come with it in the first place. And it’s wonderful. However, I found this tiny little beige mark, like a perfectly cylindrical little round mark no bigger than the zero on the keyboard and I didn’t know what it was so they sent a Viking representative out and he found two of them on each side and they said they’re supposed to be there. So other than that, I don’t have any complaints. I love the Viking Range. I didn’t want to pay the extra money but I bought the sealed range set because that’s what I was used to and it was considerably more to buy it that way but it’s easy to clean. If you bought the open range, things can go underneath. And I’m not the neatest cook in the world. So all together, it cost me about $5,600. I love the dishwasher, too. It has a light in it and when it’s on, it’s so quiet you can’t hear it and the light shines red on my floor. The only thing is it’s a little smaller than I’m used to but it’s still very nice. And the microwave, it’s microwave and convection. So you can cook in it. But I have to learn how to do that because convection cooks very fast. But I love the way it looks. Also, anybody that I have had to deal with at Viking has been very polite, pleasant and always got back to me and got me that wonderful correct broiler pan right away. I don’t always use everything I buy but I like to buy and I like high-end stuff. And this is one of the few things I’ve never had a complaint about except the broiler pan which was the wrong one. So Viking is super wonderful.

The fan of the Viking refrigerator we purchased was annoyingly loud. I have very sensitive hearing and it’s getting me crazy. We also purchased a Viking Range which I like it, but I had some issues with it. And they were not able to completely resolve it without tearing out the range and putting a new one in. When I had service on it, the gentleman said that the very low thats almost like a buzzing sound was just normal for the refrigerator. It sound like I have a constant bumblebee in my home. When I was choosing what refrigerator to buy, I’ve heard nothing but grief from people who are dealing with Sub-Zero, so that eliminated that one immediately. And the other two that I was familiar with were Viking and Thermador. I have a Thermador range in my second home and I’m not thrilled with it so I eliminated that. So I went with Viking and was holding my breath when I did. However, I was misled by the salesman. It was a significant purchase that was almost $12,000. He led me to believe that we were going to get 10% off our purchase back based on the program that Viking was running. But when I read the fine print of the information, that obviously was not the case and I haven’t even had a chance to submit my paperwork. But all in all, I had a good experience as far as the refrigerator, the delivery and the installation were concerned.

We ran into the Viking Refrigerator and it was on sale. Plus, we liked it and it was counter depth, which was what we were looking for. Its quality is good. I like that it’s tall enough so that you can place the wine bottles right on the door where you can move the shelves. And I like the compartment for the wine bottles too. However, you cannot open one of the drawers without opening up both doors. We thought we needed some repairs a while back. When we came back, it wouldn’t make any ice. We replaced the filter and it seemed to work, but it has been taking too long to make ice.

We received our range and it was installed in our home. Everything worked fine for a day. Then, the oven stopped working. We called for a service technician to come out. They came out, did some adjustments, and nothing worked. He couldnt get it to fix so he said that we got to order new parts. I told him that it is a brand-new range and I asked why we need to order brand-new parts. So, it arrived faultily. The parts were back-ordered for probably a month. We spoke to our regional representative, trying to figure out what the holdup was. Of course, it was blamed on COVID and I understood that. Then the parts came and the service technician installed them. Everything was working when he was here. He left that evening. I went to make dinner and put a chicken in. An hour later, the oven was lukewarm. It didnt maintain its flame. The next morning, before I called them, I thought to see what was going on. It would go through its clicking cycle to ignite. It’s a liquid propane system. And we ordered the correct range. That morning, it went through its cooking cycle like it always does and didnt light. We tried it again and then a fireball came out the bottom of it. I called the technician and told them what happened. I also called our regional representative and told her what happened. The technician was busy and couldnt come out ‘til the next week. Then he came back out and looked at it. He called the Viking service line and went through all of the suggestions that they made. He could get the small oven to light, but could not get the bigger side to light, and now has ordered another part. I think its the igniter or something like that is not working. I just got a phone call this morning that were on the schedule two weeks from now to get it repaired. Right now, I’m not very happy. We can use the top, but we cant do anything in the oven. Its pretty frustrating, especially since this is supposed to be top-of-the-line. So, basically, we have a brand-new piece of metal sitting in our kitchen that we cant use to its full extent. The most frustrating thing is were not getting any discount or benefit. We tell our representatives whats going on. We even said that we wanted another one because what if something happens to this one again? I dont know why that wasnt offered, again, ‘cause its a brand-new thing and its faulty when it arrived. I understand its a big piece. Its not like something that I brought home in a bag. It involved shipping and people installing it. But were kind of stuck as a consumer. Our technician is great. Theyre highly recommended. It’s no fault of them. Its the product and these arent cheap. Essentially this thing is the price of a car.

Viking was already the brand we had in the kitchen. The refrigerator broke, so I replaced it with the same brand. I bought it through a third-party seller and the experience was poor. The product was delivered with a manufacturer defect. The doors had to be zip-tied up because the installation is difficult if the doors are moving about. After it was installed, my husband and I realized the doors dont close. What upset me about the third-party vendor was that they said that its our problem, not theirs, and left. But Viking immediately stepped in and sent help with their repair people around town. I have had to use them on two or three occasions once again, all from the defect of original product delivery. No issues that went wrong. They have been incredibly responsive. Its a brand that stands by its quality. On the other hand, they did let a fridge that doesnt have doors that close past inspection somehow, so thats also strange. But when they realized they messed up, they fixed it. The refrigerator is not the right size and its a loud machine, but it does the job and has lots of storage.

Ive had 20 years of experience with Viking before and never had a problem with it. Its quality and they last a long time. They didn’t really install it very well so I had to have them come back again. And I also had a defect in one my shelves that had to be returned. Other than that, I usually call the manufacturer in Mississippi if I need anything and they are the most excellent to deal with the troubleshoots. I can call them if I suspect that I have a problem and they’ve been the best. If you call the purchase department, theyre very good at saying, “Well, I dont think that, Maybe that’s not it, or Yes. I bought a new house and the builder offered Viking. Compared to GE, I picked Viking. However, its not so great so far because not only were the refrigerator shelves broken, I also get a lot of inconsistent temperatures inside. And everything freezes at the the top and bottom shelves. Things are going really bad. So, theres no good circulation of cool air. I sent an email to them a couple of months ago to see if they can send me a replacement but I dont have anything yet. I had a dishwasher that also broke down within a year. I had a lot of difficulty getting through to Viking. I was trying to tell them what happened. It took them a long time to understand when I called them. I asked them if they can just replace the dishwasher because Ive been waiting long to get it fixed. They sent me to the customer service but they couldnt understand what I was asking them to do. They were reaching out to the appliance repair guy when I was asking them to replace it in the first place. I had a very frustrating time. Thankfully its repaired now but it took them two months to get it fixed. I always thought Viking was a very good brand. Im very disappointed. The house that we purchased already had a Viking Range and so, we wanted to continue using Viking. So far, were not impressed with the refrigerator. Weve used Samsung more than anything else before and weve never had so many issues come up as we have with this $15,000 fridge. For one, Viking doesnt have a great after purchase service. When they delivered the fridge, there was something wrong with it. The whole process took about two months for them to come and exchange the fridge. And then this year, weve had issues with the freezer, where a portion of it doesnt seem to be working. Weve been back and forth with them trying to find some service provider in the vicinity. Only after two months and a lot of follow up did they finally have someone coming in to check and see whats going on. As to how long it would take them to actually fix it, Im not even sure. The thing is, they have a third party that deals with these things, so its not really the Viking dealer. Its just a number on the brochure. You call them and they send you off to some independent company that they have in your area, and theyre the ones that are supposed to come and take care of it. As a result, it keeps ping-ponging back and forth. Besides that, the fridge looks sleek and its nice to look at. Its wide and its spacious. I definitely dont have issues with storing anything. I like that the shelves are wide and tall. So in terms of space and cooling issues in the refrigerator, we havent had an issue. Although, our ice cubes have been melting since summer. But still, when things get out of hand, theyre gonna have a third party, not necessarily a Viking technician coming and dealing with your issues and theres a lot of bureaucracy and telephone calls involved in the middle that waste our time as a consumer. And when you spend so much money on a refrigerator, you sort of dont expect this. You want things to go smoothly. And it all goes back to how great that service provider is, which from my initial experience, theyre not great. We even had an issue finding the refrigerator in the beginning. We had to go to another city and order it. So, if I were to recommend Viking to somebody else, I would say make sure that if its not that easy to procure the item from the beginning, maybe it wont be that easy to get service after the purchase.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

We went to a local appliance store and looked at a number of different brands and models. I did some research online. Ultimately, after the salesperson had described the aspects of each, we settled on the Viking. Viking has that kind of a household cache to it. It seemed to have a good track record. My wife is an interior designer so she has helped clients choose their appliances, and the feedback she has gotten has been positive too. We like the looks of the range and the burner configuration was to our liking. However, I wish it had a timer or a clock on it. We had to buy an auxiliary timer. Our previous stove had one and it was quite convenient. We had gotten used to that over the years so that was a bit inconvenient. Also, the dials are black on black, which makes it a bit tough to read. You have to get down low. If there was some contrast to the dials to make it easier to read, that would be an improvement. And the blower that cools the unit down is a bit annoying. It comes on a lot and lasts for quite a while. We had to make a service call because the igniter was not catching and it was spewing gas into the kitchen. We had to call the Fire Department the first time it happened. It happened over the Christmas vacation so repairmen weren’t open, and the one appliance repairman who services our entire county was backed up for three weeks. We had to live with that problem for three weeks and that was very frustrating. We did finally get the technician in, and he took the range all apart, moved the igniter closer to the gas outlet, and we haven’t had a problem with it since.

We re-did our kitchen and we wanted nice appliances. I bought my Viking Refrigerator through an appliance place in Silver Spring. I researched online and I know its a high-end appliance. I also found the spec sheet and the warranty online. I bought Viking because of the name and the quality, but now, our refrigerator is a little over a year old and the icemaker broke. I have given to my daughter the cheapo refrigerator I took out of my kitchen when I bought the Viking refrigerator and that works fine. We already spent over $3000 on our Viking refrigerator and it should last longer than a little over a year. I like the refrigerator a lot with its space and the way its laid out, but I need ice and Ive been buying ice now for a couple of months. Ive owned a lot of refrigerators in my lifetime and Ive never had an icemaker go bad. Viking answered my phone calls but they were adamant. I have my own business and I dont treat my customers that way. When there is a problem, I take care of it. I was under the impression that I had a two-year warranty but Viking changes their warranty whenever they feel like it. The Viking rep told me that I should have looked at the floor model at the place where I bought it and reviewed the warranty there, but they didnt even have a floor model there. Since Im very persistent and I didnt give up, they finally agreed to supply the part after multiple phone calls. Then theyre supposed to send the part but they didnt and its another week I have to wait now. Im very disappointed for the amount of money I paid for this refrigerator. The cost to have the icemaker fixed, with the labor and everything, was $650 and that is a lot of money! I thought about getting a whole new refrigerator but they decided to replace it. So, hopefully, the new one wont go bad.

We went to two different places and they both wanted to sell me something that isn’t in stock. They told me, “Oh, yeah. I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and its slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. Its the wider range, its freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two. It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, its only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if youre cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

Im a fireman and we have professional restaurant quality ranges so Im familiar with Viking. I like the style, quality and price of my Viking range. It needed a little bit of adjustment and thats about it. I also like the fact that it allows to heat up the pots, and the oven heats up really well so its very efficient. The dealer and delivery crew were great. And the service person has been here to look at it for a couple of issues. It was perfect. Overall, I got a good product for the money I paid and the individuals there at Viking really tried to help me when I called them up with an issue. I also have a Viking refrigerator and Ive had to live with two dings in its door for about four weeks. But theyre willing to help me because the doors have to be made and theyre replacing them. I have no problem with that but it is kind of an inconvenience when I spent $5,000 on the refrigerator. Its not cheap.

Viking is a good higher end brand. Its not as expensive as some of the ultra-high-end brands. When we decided to do the renovation this year, we put in all of Viking appliances. Im really happy with them. As I was cleaning the stove the other night, I really like it. Its easy to clean. It looks more of a restaurant style kitchen. It looks impressive. It feels good. Its good stuff. It boils faster than the range that we used to have, which is great. I love it. We had a slight scratch on the door and no questions asked, they came out and replaced it. Everything worked with the rebate. I didnt have to fight for it. It was a great experience.
