Heat Pump Error Codes
While I can provide you with some general error codes that are commonly used in heat pumps, it's important to note that the specific error codes for Coleman heat pumps may vary. Here are some general error codes you might encounter:
E1: This code typically indicates a problem with the air filter. Check and clean or replace the air filter as necessary.
E2: This error code may indicate an issue with the outdoor temperature sensor. It could be a faulty sensor or a wiring problem. Professional assistance might be required to diagnose and resolve the issue.
E3: This code often signifies a problem with the indoor coil temperature sensor. It could indicate a faulty sensor or a wiring issue. Professional assistance is recommended.
E4: This error code generally indicates a refrigerant issue. It could mean that the system is low on refrigerant or that there is a refrigerant leak. Professional HVAC service is necessary to address this issue.
E5: This code typically indicates a problem with the outdoor fan motor or its control circuit. It could be due to a faulty motor, a wiring issue, or a control board problem. Professional inspection and repair are needed.
E6: This error code commonly points to a problem with the communication between the indoor and outdoor units. It could be a wiring issue or a faulty control board. Professional assistance is recommended to resolve this error.
Remember, these are general error codes and may not apply to your specific Coleman heat pump model. It's always best to consult the manufacturer's documentation or contact their customer support for the accurate error codes related to your unit.

Coleman has an assortment of efficient central air conditioners, as well as some less-efficient options for customers on a budget. The brand has a very competitive warranty and builds durable air conditioners.
Coleman makes HVAC systems for residential that range in size from 2 to 5 tons. 3 separate models ranging in various sizes and efficiency ranges give you the option of paying for bells and whistles or not paying for the extras.
Coleman offers four different product lines of gas furnaces, namely the Echelon Series, LX Series, Comforteer Series and Coleman Light Commercial Series. Very few of the models are certified by Energy Star.
Coleman succeeds in their ability to offer Canadian consumers a little bit of everything. Their Echelon Series products are loaded with a variety of technological features to improve efficiency and reduce noise production, while the range of LX Series air conditioners will have something for almost any Canadian home. Meanwhile, their air conditioners are backed by a reasonable warranty coverage should any problems arise.
Our furnace and air conditioner are both Coleman, and they have lasted for ten years. The AC always needs replacement although this is not part of the furnace and we cannot complain about this. The high energy conversion rate as a result of the AFUE high levels makes it the best for me. I have not had any replacements or repairs so far, and I hope I will not have any problems with my furnace. The price is manageable, and I would recommend this to anyone who needs a gas furnace that is not too pricey and works efficiently.
Being HVAC technician, I have installed this unit on some my clients, and all I can stress is that it is a good unit as long as the installation process is performed by someone who perfectly knows when he is doing and not just anyone. The mistake that many users do is to install a unit without the help of an expert, this leads to poor installation, and the unit starts having problems too early, and some do not even end. Proper installation of any unit is essential if you want your furnace to last long enough. The only bad thing I had with this unit is the unit being a little noisy; the manufacturer should do something about the noise. The price is friendly, and I would recommend this to my clients at any given time.
Luxaire Acclimate and Coleman Echelon, can be adjusted to perform optimally in your climate. Luxaire says the systems can be, “perfectly tuned to the outdoor environment in which they are located. Humid, dry or normal condition settings allow contractors to set up systems accurately [to] maximize overall efficiency and provide improved homeowner comfort.” Luxaire calls the technology Climate Sync; Coleman calls it Climate Connect.
Coleman is trash. Purchased a dual fuel furnace/heat pump package. Have been through 4 blower motors, 6 control boards, and now the heat pump compressor is toast. Warranty parts take forever to get. Having this piece of garbage removed. Sick and tired of this tarted up house trailer hvac equipment.
Coleman Heat Pump was installed in our new build in 2016. First the pan busted in 2016. 2020 evaporation coils had to be replaced $1400.00, then in 2022 the compressor needed replacing $2200.00, and finally the expansion values need replacing. Quote to fix $1400.00. We refused to put another dime in this piece of junk, so we replaced with a Trane. Coleman parts take time to arrive and their units are nothing but problems and money. Your warning, stay away from any Coleman.
As can be seen from our analysis, Coleman is a good choice for a wide range of people. If installed properly, Coleman AC customer reviews agree on the fact that these units are durable, cost-effective and good cooling companions that require minimum maintenance or extra cost.
I agree that the installation is the main point when it comes to gas furnaces. I am nothing but satisfied by this brand of Coleman. My previous gas furnace kept on leaking and made my house messy, and I had had to clean often. I always called the technician to do repairs who later on recommended to me the Coleman unit. It’s highly efficient without too much cost of the gas bill. It was also affordable, and the installation was easy.
Coleman furnaces are some of the best high-efficiency furnaces so no matter what your budget is, you can probably find room for a high-efficiency or ENERGY STAR certified upgrade. Coleman has a decent selection of heating systems that includes basic single-stage models, two-stage furnaces, and more advanced systems with modulating burners. All Coleman furnaces are backed by excellent warranties that cover parts, heat exchangers, and even labour.
Have a Coleman heat pump. It went out within 30 days of the end of the warranty. Service people say that the pipe into the compressor is too thin and they were unable to plug the corroded hole. Need a new compressor even though it works because of a pipe. Getting estimates. Definitely not on a Coleman product.
Coleman heat pump is garbage. Very expensive and 2 failures in 15 months. Coleman doesn’t inventory parts, so now over 4 weeks without adequate heat and high electric bills. This product is junk!
Altogether, Coleman represents a strong investment for Canadian homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly, high-efficiency air conditioner. They offer many different units that cover a range of SEER performance ratings. However, if you’re looking for an especially powerful air conditioner or one with totally unique technologies, Coleman won’t be the brand for you.
