Air Conditioner Troubleshooting

The air conditioner does not cool or heat the room well. 
Is the temperature and the operation mode properly set by the remote controller? 
Are air quantity and direction properly controlled? 
Are air filters clean? 
Are areas directly below or next to the air conditioner blocked by furniture or other objects? 
Are windows and doors closed? 
Has the ventilation fan stopped? 

Warm air does not flow immediately after starting the heating operation. 
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. 
The air conditioner is warming up. Please wait for about 3 minutes. 

The air conditioner does not operate. (The operation lamp is off.) 
Is the breaker thrown or the fuse blown? 
Is the power plug connected to the outlet? 
Has there been a power failure? 
Do the batteries in the remote controller need replacement? 
Is the timer set correctly? 

The air conditioner does not operate. (The operation lamp flashes.) 
Unplug the power cord or turn off the circuit breaker. Wait for about 1 minute, and then turn on the power. If the operation lamp flashes, contact the place of purchase. 

The ON/OFF button on the main unit or remote controller does not work. 
Stop operation, unplug the power cord or turn off the circuit breaker, and contact the place of purchase. 

The air conditioner does not operate immediately when the unit is turned on during or after filter cleaning operation. 
The air filter is returning to normal position. Please wait for about 3 minutes. 

The air conditioner does not operate immediately when operation is restarted immediately after stopping, or the operation mode has changed. 
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. 
This is to protect the air conditioner. Please wait for about 3 minutes. 

The air conditioner does not operate immediately when dry or cooling operation is activated. 
When dry or cooling operation is activated with the auto fan speed setting set to ON, the SMELL PROOF operation starts and removes stagnant odor from the indoor unit before air is discharged. Therefore, the unit does not discharge air immediately after the operation starts. Please wait for about 30 to 40 seconds. 

Operation stops unexpectedly. (The operation lamp is on.) 
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. 
When the voltage fluctuates largely, operation can stop to protect the air conditioner. Operation restarts automatically in about 3 minutes. 

The unit turns on and off repeatedly. (The operation lamp is on.) 
When the room temperature reaches the set temperature, the air conditioner operates in breeze mode to prevent excessive cooling or heating. When the room temperature decreases or increases from the set temperature, the breeze mode is cancelled and the air flow volume increases. When the room temperature is stable and remains near the set temperature, the air flow volume may increase and decrease repeatedly. 

Operation stops unexpectedly when ON timer is set. 
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. 
When the ON timer is set, operation starts up to 1 hour before the time set to reach the setpoint. If the remote controller is operated during this time, the operation automatically stops. Restart operation using the remote controller. 

Operation stops unexpectedly. (The operation lamp on the main unit flashes.) 
Are the air filters clean? If not, clean the air filters and restart operation using the remote controller.If the operation lamp still flashes, disconnect the power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and contact the place of purchase. 
Are there any objects blocking the air inlet or outlet of the indoor/outdoor unit? Remove any objects and restart operation using the remote controller. 

Furnace Troubleshooting

Not heating?  
The electrical system that provides power to your furnace has either shorted or blown the power switch. Reset your furnace’s circuit breaker. If it is blown, you’ll have to replace it. 
The furnace’s igniter is likely cracked or faulty. Check if the part has cracks and replace the igniter if it does. If it doesn’t, use a multimeter to test for continuity. 

Cycling irregularly?  
Your furnace’s thermostat may be adjusting incorrectly. If the thermostat has an adjustable calibration scale, you can adjust the heat anticipator. If this does not address the cycling or you don’t have a scale, you may have to replace the thermostat. 

Not blowing hot air? 
The blower motor could have burnt out. If this isn’t the case, then the connecting belt could be broken. Check to see if power is going to the motor. If it is, but nothing is working, the motor is likely dead and needs to be replaced. If the motor runs but air doesn’t move, the connecting belt has probably broken and should be replaced. 

Blowing too much air?  
If the relay that regulates the blower motor on the control board has stopped, it will continually send voltage to the motor. Replace the control board. 
The contact that controls the blower motor on your thermostat may be stuck shut. This results in the blower motor to run constantly. Use a multimeter to check for continuity. If the problem is the thermostat, replace it. 

Starting and then stopping shortly after?  
Your furnace’s flame sensor checks if a flame is present. If it's defective or there's debris, it won't be able to detect a flame. If dirty, carefully clean the sensor using a fine abrasive pad. If still not working, replace the flame sensor.

Heat Pump Troubleshooting

If you're experiencing issues with your Daikin heat pump, you can try some troubleshooting steps to identify and potentially resolve the problem. Here are some general troubleshooting tips for Daikin heat pumps:

Check the power supply: Ensure that the heat pump is receiving power. Check the circuit breaker or fuse box to make sure the circuit is not tripped or the fuse is not blown.

Verify the thermostat settings: Make sure the thermostat is set to the desired temperature and operating mode (heating or cooling). Ensure that the fan setting is appropriate (auto or on).

Clean or replace air filters: Dirty or clogged air filters can reduce airflow and impact the performance of your heat pump. Clean or replace the filters as recommended by the manufacturer.

Check the outdoor unit: Inspect the outdoor unit for any debris, such as leaves, dirt, or obstructions. Clear away any blockages that may be impeding airflow.

Clear the condensate drain line: If you notice water pooling around the indoor unit, the condensate drain line may be clogged. Clear the drain line by using a vacuum or a pipe cleaner.

Ensure proper airflow: Ensure that the supply and return air vents are open and unobstructed. Furniture, curtains, or other objects should not be blocking the airflow.

Reset the system: Try resetting the heat pump by turning off the power to the unit for a few minutes, then turning it back on.

Check error codes: If your heat pump displays an error code, refer to the user manual or contact Daikin customer support to understand the specific issue and recommended actions.
