Fisher Paykel has the most inefficient customer service/repair arrangement
Fisher Paykel has the most inefficient customer service/repair arrangement I have ever seen. FP provided me with three numbers/businesses to contact for washer repairs. Two local companies do not service my area. The one that does service my area, A&E factory repair, does not have a contract with Fisher Paykel. Imagine! Call them, but there is no agreement! I have an authorization for parts from FP but A&E will not order them unless I pay for the parts and try to get reimbursed from FP. FP says we dont accept this authorization. Since the companies dont work together, hows that going to happen? I have made at least a dozen calls to FP and A&E and each help line tells me to call the other one for help. After looking at other comments about FP washers on this site, and from my own experience, Im convinced that FP appliances are money pits and health and electrical hazards. Customer Service numbers are merely smile and nod over the phone tools. ..frustration will make the customer go elsewhere.

We wanted to switch from a conventional dishwasher to a drawer type. We’re both getting older and decided we didn’t want to bend down to the floor anymore and so we decided we would go with this, and Fisher & Paykel essentially had a good reputation. We thought we’d try them and we’re pleased. We’ve had it since we moved into a new condominium at the end of June and it’s the Tall DishDrawer. It works very well. I am getting the cleanest, clearest glasses I’ve ever seen come out of a dishwasher. I like the way the inside of the dishwasher is set up because I like the fold down, fold up racks for the glassware which comes in very handy for various sizes. There are a number of clips for putting in very sharp long knives. As a cook, you use very long chef knives. In a regular dishwasher, you can’t really put them in. So I thought that was an excellent feature. Also the cutlery container is very nicely designed so that you can put all of your sharp steak knives point down. It is an exceptionally clean looking and clean staying dishwasher. The entire inside of the dishwasher is stainless steel. It’s really a dream to use. I recommend it to everybody.

I have a number of friends who had had Fisher Paykel in kitchen remodels. I heard good and bad, and my designer recommended it once we got started with the kitchen. He said Fisher Paykel made all the dishwasher drawers for everybody else. So we might as well go with the one who makes the most of them. I have a full-sized dishwasher to handle everyday other things but I wanted something just for little things throughout the day that build up in the sink. When I saw them, I was very impressed and I was extremely pleased with it. I like that it holds everything and its easy to operate. This was my first purchase of a Fisher Paykel. I had problems with it in the beginning. I dont know whether it was related to the person who installed it or the way that it was installed. Every time I went to use it for the first two weeks, I got an error message. We finally figured out that it was pushed too far back in the cabinet and it was pushing into the waterline every time that happened so it was causing the error message to tell me that it wasnt connected. But I like it now a lot.

We bought a Fisher Paykel washer/dryer set in 2009 for our new house. The dryer model number is DE27CW1. We had a six year warranty and used one call for the washer. In 2019 the dryer would fail to dry clothes. We cleaned the vent pathway and lint buildup in the front of the unit, pressed reset and we were good to go until a load of towels didn’t dry and nothing after that. Removed the front panel, pressed reset again and my husband noted that the heating element was red hot even though the unit wasn’t drying. After receiving an incorrect part from Sears Direct we decided to be grateful we didn’t have a fire and purchased a Miele set. We have pictures of the red hot heating element. There is information on the web about a lawsuit by a family in Washington State who had a fire with their Fisher Paykel dryer. Why wasn’t the Fisher Paykel dryer recalled?

I purchased the washer and dryer I got from Lowe’s. I didn’t particularly want a front load because I had had a bad experience years ago with them. And I also had very limited space in the house. You could not put a front load washer and a front load dryer in the room because there wasn’t enough room to open it. You had to have top load machines to do it. And Fisher & Paykel has the only top load dryer that we could find. It’s more convenient. I would have bought it no matter what because the top load is just easier to load, unload, and everything else. It also emulates commercial ones by rotating into both directions. Considering that I sold the house in Tallahassee and the people who bought it wanted the appliances, I had to buy new ones for my house in Orlando. I’ll buy them again. I think top load dryers, you can’t say the best thing since sliced bread but it’s that type. The top load washer being an eco-efficient approach. We got the rebates on that. And the style in it emulates some very old, standard washing procedures that had been used throughout the centuries. My only problem with the new one we got down here in Orlando, the washer is really sensitive to an unbalanced load. The one in Tallahassee wasn’t as sensitive.

I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!

We owned a KitchenAid dishwasher for 30 years without a hitch. When we updated the kitchen, the salesman from Grand Appliance recommended the Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer. What a mistake. It has never worked right. We have had so many service calls that I cant count them. I will replace it eventually with another KitchenAid. Perhaps you should take this one and analyze it like they do in med school with corpses - and perhaps you can figure out where you went wrong. By the way, not only is the electrical stuff faulty, but it simply does not clean the dishes. If I wash them first, it might sort of rinse them. Plus, to run it for 132 minutes for the small amount of dishes it holds is not exactly eco-friendly.

The reason we picked Fisher & Paykel refrigerator is because we have a built-in space and we had to have a certain width. This one came close. I could not find any other in the stores around here. I went to Lowes and asked them if they could order it and they said yes. Our Sub-Zero had gone completely out. Weve had it for about 30 year. I was used to the old one but I love this one. I love the interior and everything except for one thing. There is no meat tray in it. And my husband would like it if a jug of milk could fit into the door. When it was delivered it had marks on the door and I got in touch with Fisher & Paykel about it. They told me theyre going to send someone to redo the doors or give us new doors. These were blemishes and theyre getting it taken cared of.

I bought this dishwasher a few years ago. I thought it would be great because of the 2 drawers. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. We had it repaired 6 times in the 3 years I owned it and the last time, it couldnt be repaired. In talking to the place I bought it, they put in a request for assistance from the Fisher Paykel Rep, who said there was nothing he could do for me. Very disappointing for a fairly expensive purchase. Ive gone back to Miele, which in my opinion is the best.

As the technician was packing up to leave, after his or anothers fourth visit in 6 weeks, I asked where his suitcase was. Suitcase? Yes, I said. You might as well stay here because when this oven goes out within a week or so, as before, you will be here ready to fix it. We rarely cook or use the oven but mystery of mysteries when the first part went out then there was a second and a third part strangely out of order. All within a very short period of time. One replacement part never did work. Bad enough waiting on hold for the New Zealand customer service department and being told there was no record of past service calls. Dont bother trying to explain or negotiate a free service call or part replacement cause it aint gonna happen. NOT A HAPPY EXPERIENCE.

We have had our Fisher & Paykel dryer for a little over two years. At the end of the first year, there was a problem with the door. Fortunately, it was still under warranty and was replaced. However, at the end of the second year, the sensor did not work. The dryer would spin continuously without any heat. At the end of the cycle, the dryer would rotate for several minutes in the locked position and we could not open it. We had contacted Fisher & Paykel to find out what the problem was, and they suggested that we call a technician. We contacted an authorized technician, who said that the door was broken. As the part being replaced was under warranty within the year, I asked that he contact Fisher & Paykel regarding warranty for that part. He called, was placed on hold, and then was disconnected. Since he had to go to another appointment, I said that I would contact Fisher & Paykel directly. Fisher & Paykel asked that I submit invoices for the purchase and the technicians notes, which I did. They then informed me that it is not their policy to reimburse for payments! My response to them was, How was I to submit the technicians notes without payment? They apologized that they were sorry I did not know the process. How would a consumer know what their process was without being told, either by their authorized service rep or their customer service? I was not advised of my rights or their process, and as a result, I am now out of pocket for around $300 for a dryer that is only a little over two years old. I have had Maytag and Whirlpool washers and dryers for 30 years, and not once did I have to call for service. This product is a lemon. I have given this feedback to Fisher & Paykel and am in the market for a new dryer. It would be less expensive to purchase another dryer, a different brand, than to continue with any further repairs down the road.

We purchased a top load washer/dryer set in July 2009. By November 2010, the heating element in the dryer broker and the lint trap was clogged, meaning the dryer was not producing any heat to dry clothes. We had it serviced at that time, replacing the heating element and removing the lint trap to clean it, and now in January 2012, the link trap is clogged again. Also, almost immediately after purchase, the washing machine started leaking whenever a load was more than half full. Additionally, the washer began to (and still) stop wash cycles regularly because the load is not balanced. Sometimes, a wash cycle will stop up to 10 times before it finally runs through, taking almost a full day to wash one load of sheets/blankets. Also, in January 2012, we noticed that the top part of the plastic basket in the washer has begun to shred and tear. We are now weighing the choice of having a repair man out to fix it or not sink any more money into a machine were so unhappy with.We have been extremely disappointed with this set. We purchased this make and model when we built our new home because we wanted a modern, efficient washer/dryer. What we got was almost three years of headaches, service calls, and wasted water and electric.

EcoSmart Washer - I bought this machine from Lowes about 6 years ago and have loved it! No problems, cleans well, etc., until now. I called the customer service number because the machine would not power on. I was told to call one of the 2 approved service companies in Kansas City. Neither one was rated well for their service! Lots of complaints. They would not return my calls. It took almost 2 weeks to get an appointment and the tech was late, rude, etc. Refused him access and called a different company with same day service. Its now 2 weeks after that (4 total, going to the laundromat!). The current company cant seem to order the correct part, are late or no shows for appointments and cant seem to give me a dollar or time estimate for service. I could not be more frustrated. I really liked my machine, but am going to replace it. Service is a nightmare...

I wanted to take the bins out of my freezer to clean them and get rid of some ice buildup and I can see no way to get them out. Theres no instructions in the users manual and customer service was unable to tell me how so they emailed me a video that was supposed to show me how to do it but the video was 6 years old and the freezer compartment didnt look anything like what I have now. Weve only had ours about a year-and-a-half and it is still under warranty. I emailed them back to let them know and they never responded to my email, and I even sent pictures of what mine looks like, so I called again and I was told that I would have to have a service rep come out to remove the bins and if he found there was no manufacturer defect they would charge me $95!!Yet they are not able to provide me with any instructions on how to do it myself!!! This refrigerator cost way too much have people answering the phone that cant help with something that should be a simple process... And maybe the bins dont come out at all but if they dont they should be able to at least tell me that instead of telling me they have to send out a service rep.

We have had the washer dryer set about 4 years. A year ago the alleged timer switch went out. We called Fisher Paykel. They told us to pay for a service tech to inspect the dryer and let them know if it’s faulty. Then if so, they would replace. I went through the steps they asked and had the switch replaced at no cost to me. A year later, I am having the same problem. They don’t sell this dryer any longer. And again, they want me to pay for someone to come out and inspect and let them know if the switch is faulty. Really? Just like the other complaints, I really don’t think having the same issue and having to wait several weeks for repair is reasonable, nor is it reasonable to have to pay for the service call out of pocket and now having to take off work for the same issue they fixed a year ago.

We got the washer and dryer maybe 60 years ago and we actually had a lot of problems but we love the way that its been so we chose to try it again so hopefully it will be better this time. I really like the other one better. This new one does a whole rinse and spin but it doesnt allow you to just spin. But I would say what I love the most about it is that the way it spins then still dry. Its a nice washer and dryer. But I do wish that you didnt have to do the whole rinse cycle for it to spin.

Ive had over 5-6 calls on this crappy oven & never once when I called Fisher Paykel did they do a damn thing about it. It finally died the day after Thanksgiving... even though the elements has went up over a yr ago. Had to put it on broil to get the oven to heat. The self-cleaning was another major problem. I got tired of the service guy telling me not to use the self-clean... dahhh. What the hell did I get it for to look at it... I would never ever, ever, ever recommend this mfr to anyone. The worst oven I ever, ever, ever had... It now is in the dumpster & before it went I beat the crap out of it for all the aggravation it gave... Top of the line my ass. Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

We purchased F&P fridge and stove in November 2009 and have been having issues with both since the very beginning (which is not surprising, judging from this site). The purpose of this review is to give our feedback regarding the service weve been getting from local authorized dealers and support they get from the company. No matter what, do not buy any products from Fisher & Paykel! Trying to get their appliances fixed is even more frustrating than finding out that your appliance broke down after only a few months of service. Prepare to wait for weeks and dont be surprised if the problem reoccurs within days or hours of the fix. Then, wait a few more weeks. There is no urgency, no ownership, no pride. I dont believe the company cares. Did you read their responses to customer complaints? They sound like a broken record. At this point, we are seriously considering throwing both fridge and stove out and buy something else. It cant be worse, can it? What a waste of money.

After a great deal of research, I learned this refrigerator has the least depth of any other on the market that includes a water dispenser. This is due in part to the fact the ice maker is not contained on the door; the icemaker is contained in the bottom freezer. Yes, you have to scoop out the ice manually, but the depth space savings is worth the trade, and the chilled water dispensed doesn't require ice. Although I initially thought it pricy for a refrigerator, it was my only option for the space in my kitchen. I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it was in my kitchen Wednesday afternoon. I love this stylish and sleek refrigerator!!! While 17 cubic feet may seem small, it is an ideal size for most families. In most cases, the items stored in the back of a refrigerator are forgotten or the space isn't really used anyway. There is so much shelf space that I was able to get more in this refrigerator than my previous larger unit. I was surprised to find that the water filter is not contained within the unit. The filter holder mounts to the wall, or, in my case, an adjacent cabinet, and just the water line attaches to the unit. This perhaps goes with the philosophy of no wasted space in the unit. I opted for a three year extended warranty for just over $100, but I am optimistic I won't need it. I'll update this rating if I have problems with the unit, but so far I have absolutely no regrets.

My friend’s husband is an engineer and told me they bought a Fisher & Paykel because her husband had done some research and said that they had the fewest moving parts of any washing machine. And fewer moving parts is a good thing. I needed a washing machine, so I bought one and that was four or five years ago, and I’m pleased with it. I just got the dryer in August and I already had to have a new heating element put in. I don’t know if it’s the dryer’s problem or if it’s my ductwork’s problem but the outside vent is getting clogged up and I never had that before. But that doesn’t seem like it could be the dryer’s problem and we haven’t figured out what it is because I don’t think there’s a lot of lint in the lint screen. And so I can’t understand how the lint can bypass the lint screen and go out the outside vent. They need to send a repairman. As far as how they look, they’re fine. In price, they’re all in the same ballpark. And as far as performance, I don’t know because I haven’t tried that many others. I used to be a Whirlpool customer and I had wonderful luck with Whirlpool. But then I bought an Amana washer and dryer in 2004 and I had to replace the washing machine with the Fisher & Paykel, and then I just replaced the dryer. The dryer issue hasn’t been resolved yet but we are quite pleased with our Fisher & Paykel washing machine.

Very dissatisfied with Fisher Paykel. I bought 4 appliances from them totaling over 11,000 dollars. The dishwasher was missing parts and the refrigerator did not work. After 6 weeks of back and forth with the company giving me misinformation and every employee telling me different things to do and making me in charge of lining up appliance service with 4 days needed off of work that resulted in them not replacing a bad refrigerator but saying they would repair. The wheels were also broken with the services which ruined my floor and once they replace the refrigerator they will not guarantee. They do a typical customer service routine, but could care less about the actual customer. My next home would never have their appliances.

Ive owned front-load machines for the past 5 years. Had a good experience with them as well. I just moved into top-load HE laundry and went F&P. After comparing the two styles I would recommend the F&P top-loaders. Being able to control your water levels is such an advantage to laundry. Heavily soiled stains are removed more significant with extra water. Having a thorough rinse improved my whites and stained outdoor clothing. The gentleness of F&P laundry is at peak level. My delicate clothing is avoiding vigorous wear and tear, even though front-load offers a delicate cycle. The controlled spin out speed is phenomenal. Clothes are noticeably softer and brighter. F&P laundry is amazing and I would recommend to any consumer.

Refrigerator model #E522BLX - I bought this fridge 4 years ago from SEARS Canada because my 35 year old never repaired Amana fridge suddenly broke down. I had a problem finding a fridge that would fit in the space built around the Amana and wasnt in a position to renovate the kitchen to accommodate a new fridge. I didnt know anything about the Fisher Paykel brand, and unfortunately, relied on the Sears appliance specialists knowledge and honesty.I was advised that the fridge had a very good 5 year warranty and excellent customer service and Sears would also stand behind the brand should anything go wrong. I bought it because it was the only fridge, at the time, that could fit in the space and I paid about $2,000 for it. Well 2 months ago the fridge started to make a noise that sounded similar to the noise I heard when my Amana fridge broke down. That was related to a compressor problem. The noise has steadily worsened and its driving me up a wall.I found out from Sears Canada that they no longer carry the Fisher Paykel brand (I wonder why) and therefore cant provide me with any service. When I contacted the FP customer service # I was directed to someone in New Zealand and I quickly concluded that their so called excellent customer service was totally false. I further learned that the fridge I bought has been discontinued (I wonder why). The extent of their assistance was to provide me with service repair contacts in the U.S. Anyone I contacted in Toronto is unwilling to service the model. It is now Christmas and I am now out of a fridge and $2000. FP doesnt give a damn. Although they did not outwardly admit it but I think they knew that there was an embedded defect with their fridge and therefore discontinued it without advising customers like me.There should have been a recall notice and offer to replace the model or at least make some effort to repair problems without costing the customer big bucks and aggravation. Do not ever buy anything manufactured by Fisher Paykel. And dont buy any appliance from Sears. Their appliance specialists are not specialists and are trained only to make a sale at the customers risk. They will not ensure that: your satisfaction continues long after your initial purchase. This is the statement that they include in their brochure.

My favorite feature is the automatic water level where I dont have to choose (like is this a large, a medium load?) I feel like Im saving water because Im not choosing a larger load size unnecessarily. When we went to the store to buy a new unit, the appliance salesman was telling us 6 to 8 years is more typical for newer machines (our previous washing machine lasted 25 years). My husband especially wanted something really high quality that would last. This particular salesman who actually is the owner of the store said he owned a Fisher & Paykel and that it would be the highest quality brand that they carry that would last the longest.

I was first introduced to Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers about 6 years ago. They were two drawers placed separately on either side of the kitchen sink. They were really wonderful and I had no problems with them. I then bought and renovated two new homes and put fisher paykel dishwashing drawers in both homes. They are the stacked drawers. Have not had problem with them except the bottom one started leaking and the top one smells horribly of mold. I feel it in my lungs every time I breathe in the air after opening the top drawer. I called customer service and spoke to someone from New Zealand (very difficult time understanding her) who said that I should use let it shine from Home Depot and run it through a cycle. Well this did not help so now I have to endure this terrible mold smell every time I open the top drawer. After this experience I am very doubtful I would ever buy another fisher paykel product.

Before ordering, please check that the delivery company will be able to get the appliance in your kitchen. I ordered an American fridge freezer, but when it arrived they could not get it into my kitchen. The delivery boys were lovely and they said they could probably get it in, if the doors and drawer were removed, but they could not find a way to remove the drawer. I called Fisher and Paykel and they could not help either and suggested that I just took doorstep delivery and work the rest out for myself! Very disappointing, so to avoid disappointment yourselves, please check this out before you order. Incidentally, I live in a detached house with standard size openings.

My F&P oven was new when I purchased my apartment in 2017. A year later, I experienced problems with the interior lights and the glass ceiling that protected the roasting elements. F&P directed me to their authorized repair company in South Florida, Appliance Service Group, Inc. of Pembroke Pines, FL. I paid them over $800 in advance on Feb. 1, 2019 (they told me that the warranty was for only 1 year, when it is 2 years but F&P finally agreed to honor the warranty after I contacted them). However, my oven still has not been fixed as of April 17, 2019 - a 2 1/2 month delay. ASG has told me several lies about the delay....a part is on backorder, the wrong part was ordered, the part had to come from NZ, etc. I have been promised on several occasions that it would be repaired within 5 to 7 business days. It hasnt and for over 2 1/2 months I have been without the use of my oven. F&P and its authorized service agents are not to be trusted.

To get my dishwasher repaired is a joke, as they say tech will be out between 12 and 5. Hello people work, well get a family member or a neighbors to come over. Hello who doesnt work these days. We agree the tech wouldnt be here before two and rocks up just before two, as I am driving home from work. Missed him by two minutes, but cant come back today, so we all have to live with the smell for another four days. So just remember if you are buying Fisher Paykel you can only get it service by Fisher Paykel. So if it breaks down be ready to have your life put on hold as the world only works around them. As they cant booked times only between half days and be ready for the half hour call before they come out, only if you request a call before they come, otherwise take a sick day as they will just rock up anytime to service it, and if not there too bad. So you can drop what you doing and run out of work at the drop of a hat, half hour before they come. All company really let you do that. So come on Fisher Paykel, get your ** together to help your customers out in a better way. We all have jobs to do, so get your tech to work on a better schedule so they can give us a time and not between five hours. I wouldnt be recommending your products to my friends or family for this reason.

F&P includes being sustainably minded in its brand vision. Their online chat was full for days, through Messenger they have said oven has served good time. I agree its an older appliance, but their response was a giant turn-off. The first appliance repair person said the hinge is a known problem. Discontinuing production of a part thats a known problem is not being sustainably-minded.

I have had my Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for about 10 years. I absolutely love the concept of two drawers for washing dishes since I always have an empty washer that I can load. But I have to admit I have not been 100% satisfied with the unit. The top washer has always had issues and I have had it serviced almost every year for the last 10 years. Most of the time it will beep and stop running through the cycle for no reason. And even when it does run through the cycle, some of the dishes will need to be run again. It is not always super clean as I would expect from a good dishwasher. I am told that the newer models do not have the computer at the bottom of both drawers, which causes it to short circuit a lot. I hope the newer models are better at cleaning the dishes than mine is.

Two-door, cabinet-depth fridge - This model probably saved me a $20,000 kitchen remodel. Our new house had a new refrigerator whose door would not clear a counter peninsula. My wife was ready to start tearing out counters, but the dealer took a return on the offending appliance and supplied us with a model that we can actually stand in front of... with the doors open. I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.

During a full kitchen renovation we needed a fridge of unusual dimensions. Fisher & Paykel had one that would fit and so we decided for aesthetics we would purchase the same brand for the induction range. It’s an expensive decision that we came to regret. Within a few months, we realized the oven wasn’t achieving the temperature it was set at and constantly ran up to 30F below the temp showing on the display. After the second call, maybe the third, we were told that we’d have to learn to mentally calculate what temperature to set the oven to depending on what we were cooking. $5000 for an oven that was less predictable than a much less expensive unit. The induction cooktop was really good, efficient, no problems but after the fourth service call, several parts replaced and eventually 6 weeks without an oven or cooktop because the temperature control failed spectacularly and the entire range had to be disconnected over Christmas while the parts were on back order, it was eventually repaired successfully, but it required an entire new motherboard and sensor, and two years of aggravation. For this reason, I will never again buy anything from Fisher & Paykel.

I bought a brand new FP washer and dryer the end of 2006. I paid approximately $1,000.00 each for them, because the salesperson assured me what a wonderful company FP is and how wonderful their products are. Well, what a waste of my hard earned money. I have had the washer fixed 3 times and the pump just went out of it again. I am awaiting the repairman to return with the part to fix it. In the meantime, I am spending at least $40.00 a week at the laundromat. I have had the dryer fixed twice. The last time, it put little holes in my clothes so I lost a ton of money in ruined clothing. I am lucky that there is a repairman in our area who knows what hes doing. However, it is always at least 3 weeks until the repair is completed. First, he has to come out to see whats wrong; then order the part; then come back out to repair it. Now when you figure it out, I am spending at least $120.00 at the laundromat, plus I have the cost of the repairs. This time the repairs will be at least $200.00. During the Christmas season, both Lowes and Home Depot had a washer/dryer pair for around $400.00. Considering the amount of money I already have invested in FP washer/dryer, the extravagant purchase price, the amount of money I have invested for repairs to both units, the amount of money I have invested in the laundromat and the continuous inconvenience, I would be farther ahead to buy a cheap set and replace them every two years. Now I will say that FP reimbursed a portion of the first repair; however, when I advised them of the second repair, they basically said that appliances dont last forever.I cant say that forever is 3 or 4 years. Considering the price of FP, I would expect them to last at least 10 years. I am very disappointed in the FP brand and have to say that I will not consider purchasing that brand again. I have just spent the past hour reading the reviews on this website and it seems to me that FP just produces an inferior product. FP should take action to compensate people and not just tell them that they are sorry to hear of their problems or that their concerns have been forwarded to a senior representative.

We purchased Fisher and Paykel appliances when we built our home in 2006. The WOS-130 wall oven never heated correctly, could not be repaired, so it was replaced by FP. In 2010, I cleaned the oven, and the oven door would not open and the control panel ceased to operate. We contacted FP. A service rep ordered the new part, and we were responsible for the repair. About 3 weeks ago, I cleaned the oven, and the same thing happened. The first time the repair person came out in 2010, he showed my husband how to unlock the oven. We now have a dilemma because there is no longer a repair company in our area that will come out to repair the unit. I contacted the sales rep from FP by phone and email, and he has failed to return my messages. His name is Jim **. I guess there is no sense in buying an FP self-cleaning oven if every time you need to clean the unit it ceases to operate. I am in quite a dilemma because I cannot get service to my home, and surely cannot afford a new wall oven. I would never buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance again if you cannot get a customer service rep. to respond or service in your area. I am very disappointed with this product.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, my first F&P purchase. We had a designer help us redo our kitchen. We have a very tiny kitchen. She suggested it as space saving. The traditional one, the big door practically blocked the entire way; the dishwasher was at the end of the counter and when you open the door, there was hardly any room to walk in the kitchen. The drawers of this F&P dishwasher take up less space when you open them up and when you put dishes in, you don’t block the way to the kitchen. It’s very, very good! We especially like the function of it that you can do half a load at a time. We have a little 7 year old who lives with us and our daughter, and with all of us, a lot of dishes go through there and we don’t run out of dishes anymore, because she does little half loads and they’re ready. It’s very convenient and easy. And the quality, the way the dishes come out, they look very clean, very nice. We’re very happy because besides function, the other things with the space saving and ergonomically, the way it can be standing upright and drop things in, it’s just really nice all around! It’s very quiet as well.

I was told by the salesman that FP was a superior product and I especially liked the ECO features as I am environmentally conscious. To call a serviceman and pay $100s in repairs is not worth it. I may as well buy a new washer. So much for ECO friendly as my FP washer will now wind up in a dump. FP washer was a total waste of money. This time, Ill buy another Maytag. My last one lasted 10 years.

The fridge (no ice or water) has been fine, in fact we bought another Fisher Paykel. But we bought the second one with a side handle. The handle on our first fridge kept breaking off. The technician said the magnets were too strong. You may want to check the pressure it takes to open the door because you can take out some magnets. It costs about $150-$170 Cdn to replace (parts and labour past warranty period). Here are the two old handles of our old fridge which is now in the basement. We are on our third handle and I open it by pulling on the top of the door.

Just a follow-up to my July 17, 2011 post. I contacted the USA representative and I was very pleased. She arranged a repair at no cost. This was not easy as the company listed was no longer servicing my area, but she was successful. She sent two parts (computer and pump) and the technician just replaced these and all seems on for now. Best part of the story - no cost although the machine is 3.5 years old. Must tip my hat at the FP and the customer service. Thanks to CA for being there, as I feel this blog/posting was influential in getting my problem resolved. Also, the USA representative was accessible, polite, and true to her word.

The griddle on this range is a piece of junk. It does not heat over 250 degrees. I have contacted Fisher & Paykel numerous times about this problem. They referred us to a repair service. The serviceman does not even want to work on a DCS. They have adjusted the griddle numerous times and replaced the thermostat twice. It still does not get hot enough! Fisher & Paykel will not let you talk to their technician to explain how the griddle is working. We are unable to get a phone number where we can talk to someone who understands how the griddle is supposed to work. One of the service reps in New Zealand asked us to fax all the records we have kept on the problems with this range. The number he gave us would not go through. I think he did not want to give us a correct number. He would not even give us his last name so we could talk to him again! If they were an automotive manufacturer, after reading all the bad reviews, the government would have already put them out of business!

I was told in the store that the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator was a very quiet model, but its not. Its noisy and I did have to call them because since I got it, I cant sleep at night. Its cycling continually and extremely loud, like a jet taking off. The technician came out and said that I didnt have much in my freezer and suggested putting in jugs of water. But since then, I do have a roommate who uses the freezer and its a bit quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it would be. I had been concerned that my old ref was not energy efficient and thats why I got rid of it and got this one and it seems to be functioning okay, but I dont know how much energy its saving me. I am disappointed with the noise and I check back at the store and they said well, the new appliances do cycle on and are sensitive to drops in temperature. So it could be I didnt get complete information and didnt research this completely as I needed to. Im happy that its got a modern design and I like the size. If it were a bit quieter, I would be happier.

This fridge caused only problem for me... broke in 2011, my new kitchen cabinet were damage and after sending all documents, Fisher said to me to send the invoice to them when the work is done but not guaranteed that they will pay... to be continued. And have another problem with it, plastic in door hinge always broke, even if we close door very gently. Im really not happy with my purchase. I had 2 refrigerator in 30 years and this one will be changed very soon because its only causing problem to me. Very nice looking, very nice for space inside but the rest, for the price Ive paid....not worth it. Customer service in Quebec is very very poor.

I bought my appliances in 2011 and to say the least they were very expensive. I did a complete remodel of my kitchen and my contractor told me that F&P/DCS were good. So I bought 2 ovens and a professional cooktop. Basically every appliance I bought started to have problems at about the same time (Planned Obsolescence) and all I can say if 1 of these appliances have a problem you cannot fix them because of the terrible engineering. I also have to say that no contractor knows how to fix them. They have a very limited number of contractors across the US and they do not train any of them.

The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.

We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...

We have the drawer version of the dishwasher and I am unimpressed with the performance. I have experimented with different dishwasher soaps, loading methods, rinse/wash cycles but I simply cannot get my dishes clean. I have had an ancient dishwasher previously with no issues; switched to this brand and it leaves food particles on dishes, cloudiness on my glasses and grease sitting in the bottom of the unit. I wash the dishes off before putting them in, but no improvement. The wash cycle also takes over 2 hrs which is impractical for the smaller apartment unit that is designed to run frequently with small loads.

We as people have grown to trust in name brands, however those days have long gone. I consider myself an economist the type shopper researches not impulses when buying a major purchase however it has come to past unless you have disposable income and dont mind re-buying the same item within 7-10 years if you dont mind then read no further, this article, complaint doesnt apply to you.2009 purchased a Fisher & Paykel washer from Sears. Bought the extended service contract and within the first year the mainboard, the inner tub were replaced. I placed a complaint on this site several years ago and was notified while on vacation concerning my complaint. At first I was confused, caught off guard and shocked that F&P would intervene and take over the complaint and order the correct UPGRADED parts. Sears Tech had no idea were available and ordered the normal routine parts even when I mention the possibility I was ignored. In the end, Sears took all the credit and basically did nothing. Most reputable companies dont want complaint especially when they are logged with the BBB or Respectfully The Attorney General although some dont care. Brand name, dont mean a thing. It pays to buy cheap and skip the bells and whistles. It doesnt pay for the short time of enjoyment usually a one year warranty if the extended was not purchased and then hear we dont contact when the warranty about to expire. Sears tell lies I was contacted on items out of warranty and they wanted me to renew. As for Fisher & Paykel I should have requested a return after the initial replacement. I thought this company was quality. I was wrong.

The Ecosmart FP Washer was recommended by a designer friend of mine who loved these washers and said she had recommended this to several of her clients. It had a belt driven motor, was low maintenance and easy to repair. So I bought mine in 10/2009. It has worked great for 3 years and btw just last week, I recommended it to a friend because I loved it so much! Anyway, a few days ago I noticed a leak had developed so I had the repairman come out. He said it needed a new part called an Electronic Pump Assembly or a Kit Repair and Fuse at the price of $343.45 with labor at $220 and tax at $29.96 totaling $592.41 (oh, and service fee of $49.95 just to tell me this). What?! I said, That is almost the price of a new washer? He said, Yes, I see this pump go out a lot on these washers but the new part has been improved and should last about 10 years. But darn it, I shouldnt have to pay the cost of a new machine just to get that defective part replaced. I am so disappointed and frustrated because I actually like this unit. Im not sure if I want to risk purchasing another FP Washer (what if it still has that defective part?). It only lasted 3 years!

My wife has been complaining and she’s got arthritis in her back and she complained about the refrigerator down there and the freezer at the top and she wanted one with the freezer down and the refrigerator up at the top so she wouldn’t have to bend over. Whenever she had to clean it or anything, she was having trouble. Then they had a good deal on the Fisher & Paykel. This is the first one I’ve ever bought. Usually, we buy Whirlpool. But I believe it’s a good refrigerator so far. Our favorite is that the refrigerator is up at the top and my wife isn’t always fussing with me about it. The doors and everything on it seem very nice. There’s another nice feature about it - you got a buzzer on it if you left the door open. So far, I’d give it 5 stars. I haven’t had any problem at all.

When we built our house, my wife did her shopping around for her appliances and she basically liked the dual dish drawer concept and Fisher & Paykel seemed to be the only one around that had it available. Compared to the other dishwashers we had in the past Fisher & Paykel is superior in noise, cleaning, versatility. Being able to use just a minor amount versus the whole thing because it had two drawers, two different sizes. There’s a big problem we had with getting the warranty registered because the builder installed it and we assumed he registered the warranty, but he didnt. So we had to go back and look at the procedures. It took quite a bit of time to get the warranty registered correctly. Since it was a foreign country that was working in the United States, there’s a bit of a language situation too. Their accent was a little hard to understand sometimes.

After consulting with a repairman, I was informed that the pump will be $200 plus $160 for the electronic portion, add another $50 for taxes and shipping and at least $100 for labor. I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer.
I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer. It is 6 years old and 1 year out of extended warranty. I called the local factorys recommended shop on Thursday and Baker Appliance came out the next Monday. He ordered the part for regular delivery. A different repairman returned on Monday, a week later, to replace the electronic control unit. They discovered the wrong part was sent. He said the box had the correct part number on it but the part inside was incorrect. Does this happen a lot?My issue is, he told my wife they would ship the correct part the next day. I called them Tuesday to ask about the part delivery. The girl said she would check and call me back but never did. I left a message on Tuesday night and she called me back Wednesday morning and said she didnt have it yet. I called again and explained what the repairman had said. She asked someone in her office about it. She said they werent told and it would be another $50 for next day shipping. I then gave up.Wouldnt Fisher & Paykel absorb the additional cost if they shipped the wrong part? I spent more than $50 at the laundromat over the last 2 weeks. We have 5 people in our home.

I saw Fisher Paykel through Consumer Reports years ago. Im a repeat customer of that company. Its my third or fourth purchase with them - the latest being a washer and dryer. Their lifespan isnt as long as it used to be. Theyre not built like they were back 25 years ago when you could have one for 20 years. Not so much plastic should be used in manufacturing some of the push buttons and things that tend to break or wear out over time. The whole face is plastic and the face tends to crack on the buttons that you use consistently. There should be more flexibility in the fabric that theyre using for those push buttons. Theyre pretty simple machines. The noise level on the washer is pretty high. It sounds like you have an airplane in your house. Besides that and things breaking that are too expensive to repair, theyre fine. They wash the clothes and they get them clean. Thats all I can ask for.

I bought a FP two-drawer dishwasher about 5 years ago. It cost me a small fortune! We had our cabinets custom made to fit the FP dishwasher. It has been nothing but problems since the moment we got it. Now, it is on its last legs. It constantly fills up with water and my husband has to take the drawers out and wet-vac it, then put a de-humidifier in front of it for at least 24hrs. Once it is finally dry, he has to go into the basement and turn the electricity back on (which he shuts off to do this whole drying process). Inevitably, after one or two cycles it fills with water again and starts beeping. The beeping does not stop until we shut the power off again in the basement. The process repeats endlessly. We have had repairmen look at it and they say they see it all the time and there is nothing they can do with FP products, they are just not made well. My mother has had the same cheap Sears dishwasher for almost 30 years! I would love to replace it but I resent the fact that I paid so much for it and it is junk. Plus, Im afraid I will have to buy the same one again since my cabinets were specially designed to fit that model and I am afraid I will have the same problems with a new one.

The last ones I had were the Whirlpool front loaders. I didn’t like them. I’ll never buy a front loader again. We bought from a little appliance store here in Benton. At first, we bought a Speed Queen and it pumped up the water so fast that my pipes wouldn’t take it and it flooded my laundry room every time I would wash. So I called them back and they said they had one that the pump didn’t pump that hard. And we went and traded. They were brand new. I had it about four days and got these which I love. They work great! The experience with Fisher & Paykel went real well. I love it and have already recommended it. My daughter wants one. She likes the fact that the tub is all sealed up in there. Her husband is in construction and he forgets to get nails and things out of his pockets and it just messes all up down underneath hers. But this one is all sealed so nothing can get down underneath there.

I bought my Fisher Paykel machine in 1999 (14 years). I never heard of it before but I did my research and then I went out to look at one. It has everything I could ask for in a washing machine. The wool cycle is great for todays new wools. I have never had it repaired for any reason. When it got out of balance the first time, I used the service summary and put it back in balance myself and have been fixing it myself ever since.
