Fulgor Milano Appliance Repair

A passion for quality, contemporary design and the Italian way of life inspire them to continually improve and develop in the area of innovation. Although Fulgor Milano has had a history of manufacturing cooking equipment since the late 1940s, it became their goal to build on that heritage and develop cooking equipment that would exceed all expectations of quality, performance, and styling.

Dishwasher Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Fulgor Milano manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Fulgor Milano appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Drain Impeller
The drain impeller pushes water through the drain hose and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the impeller is broken, replace it.

Drain Pump
The drain pump uses an impeller to force water through the drain hose. If the drain pump motor is not working, the dishwasher won’t drain. To determine if the drain pump is defective, check the pump motor for continuity using a multimeter. If the motor does not have continuity, or if is getting power but won’t run, replace the drain pump. Drain pumps are not repairable—if the drain pump is defective, you must replace it.

Drain Solenoid Kit
The drain solenoid opens the drain valve to allow the water to exit the dishwasher. If the drain solenoid fails the valve will not open causing the dishwasher not to drain.

Drain Valve
Over time, the drain valve can get clogged with debris. To ensure that water can flow through the drain valve, clean out the valve. If the drain valve is clear of debris but it still won’t actuate, replace it. Drain valves are not repairable—if the drain valve is defective, you must replace it.

Pump and Motor Assembly
The motor drives an impeller to force water out of the drain hose. If the motor runs during the drain cycle, check for a blockage in the drain line. If the motor won't run during the drain cycle or if it just hums when it should be running, the pump and motor assembly might need to be replaced.

Check Ball
The check ball is a small plastic ball in the check valve that prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after the dishwasher has drained. If the check ball gets stuck, it will prevent water from draining through the check valve. If the check ball is stuck, try to free it.

Check Valve
The check valve prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. If the check valve is stuck closed, try cleaning it out and then replace it if necessary.

Microwave Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Fulgor Milano manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Fulgor Milano appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Microwave Will Not Run
You obviously need a microwave that runs, and a unit that will not turn on can be the result of simple or complex problems.
This likely goes without saying, but if you have a traditional countertop microwave, you should first make sure that the appliance is plugged into an electrical outlet. You should also test that the outlet is providing electricity, either by using a multimeter, or by testing another electric device in the outlet. If the outlet is not providing electricity, it will require repairs from an electrician.
A malfunctioning door switch can also cause this problem in both countertop and built-in microwaves. The door switch signals when the microwave is closed, and when the unit can begin cooking. Faults in the door switch’s interlock system will prevent your unit from operating. A broken thermal fuse or ceramic fuse will also prevent your microwave from running. Be sure to contact a certified microwave repair service to resolve these problems.

Microwave Runs But Will Not Heat
A microwave’s touchpad controls allow you to program a variety of cooking functions with the touch of a button. If the touchpad doesn’t respond, then you can’t use your appliance.
An unresponsive touchpad is likely the result of a faulty membrane switch or control board. The membrane switch signals the control board to power specific functions in the microwave, and a membrane switch that is worn out or faulty will prevent any response from the touchpad. Similarly, a faulty control board will be unable to power your selected functions. For many homeowners, these components are difficult to fix, and require assistance from an expert microwave repair technician.

Microwave Touchpad Does Not Respond
A microwave’s touchpad controls allow you to program a variety of cooking functions with the touch of a button. If the touchpad doesn’t respond, then you can’t use your appliance.
An unresponsive touchpad is likely the result of a faulty membrane switch or control board. The membrane switch signals the control board to power specific functions in the microwave, and a membrane switch that is worn out or faulty will prevent any response from the touchpad. Similarly, a faulty control board will be unable to power your selected functions. For many homeowners, these components are difficult to fix, and require assistance from an expert microwave repair technician.

Microwave Tray Won’t Turn
Most common microwaves feature a tray that steadily turns while in use, providing even heat to microwaved dishes. A tray that won’t turn can result in poorly cooked food, and definitely requires repairs.
A broken drive motor often results in a tray that won’t turn. The drive motor provides the rotating motion necessary to spin your tray, and replacing the motor will likely resolve the problem. You may also need to replace the drive motor coupler. If you face difficulty replacing these parts, be sure to contact a professional appliance repair technician.
Problems with tray movement can also be the result of a cracked or broken roller guide. A microwave’s glass tray typically sits atop a roller guide, which helps the tray stay on track while rotating. Over time, repeated use can damage the guide, impeding the tray’s movement. Replace the guide to get your tray back on track.

Microwave’s Exhaust Fan Does Not Work
Over-the-range microwaves are installed above your cooking range, and feature an exhaust fan on the bottom of the unit, combining the features of a microwave and range hood in one appliance. This design offers great convenience, but features its own unique set of repair problems.
If your unit’s exhaust fan is not working, there may be a problem with its charcoal filter or grease filter. These filters absorb airborne pollutants and grease that are created while cooking, and over time can become clogged. A clogged filter will prevent your fan from working, and cleaning or replacing the filter will likely fix your problem.
If your filters are clear, there may be an issue with the microwave’s fan motor. To inspect or replace the motor, you will need to unplug the appliance and remove it from its built-in position before disassembling your microwave to access the fan. This task is best left to a trusted appliance repair expert.

Range Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Fulgor Milano manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Fulgor Milano appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Igniter
The igniter is the most commonly defective part for an oven not heating. The igniter has two main functions. First, the igniter draws electrical current through the oven safety valve to open it. Second, the igniter gets hot enough to glow and ignite the gas in the oven burner. If the igniter gets weak, it will fail to open the safety valve correctly. If the valve does not open, the oven will not heat. To determine if the igniter is defective, observe the igniter when the oven is on. If the igniter glows for more than 90 seconds without igniting the gas flame, this indicates that the igniter is too weak to open the valve. If the igniter is weak, replace it. If the igniter does not glow at all, use a multimeter to test the igniter for continuity. If the igniter does not have continuity, replace it.

Bake Element
When the bake element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the heating element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the heating element for holes or blisters. To determine if the bake element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the bake element does not have continuity, replace it.

Broil Element
Inspect the broil element for holes or blisters. When the broil element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the broil element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. To determine if the broil element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the broil element does not have continuity, replace it.

Thermal Fuse
If the oven gets too hot, the thermal fuse trips to shut off power to the oven. If the thermal fuse has blown, the oven will not heat. However, this is not a common occurrence. To determine if the thermal fuse is at fault, use a multimeter to test the fuse for continuity. If the thermal fuse does not have continuity, replace it. The thermal fuse cannot be reset—if the fuse has blown, it must be replaced.

Oven Control Board
The oven control board has relays that send voltage to the bake and broil circuits according to the user settings and sensor input. If the control board is defective, it may not send voltage to the heating components. However, this is rarely the case. Before replacing the control board, first test all of the heating components. If you determine that all of the heating components are working properly, replace the oven control board. Since it’s not easy to test the oven control board, you will have to replace the control board if you suspect it is defective.

Relay Board
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. The relay board has several relays which control the electrical current to the heating element. If one or more of the relays on the relay board has failed, the oven won’t heat. If the relay board is defective, replace it.

Refrigerator Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Fulgor Milano manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Fulgor Milano appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Condenser Coils are Dirty
The condenser coils are usually located under the refrigerator. They dissipate heat as refrigerant passes through them. If the condenser coils are dirty, they won’t dissipate the heat effectively. As debris builds up on the coils, the refrigerator becomes less efficient, causing the refrigerator to work harder to cool down. If the coils are significantly dirty, the refrigerator will not be able to maintain the proper temperature. Check the condenser coils to determine if they are dirty—if the condenser coils are dirty, clean them.

Condenser Fan Motor
The condenser fan motor draws air though the condenser coils and over the compressor. If the condenser fan motor is not working properly, the refrigerator won’t cool properly. To determine if the fan motor is defective, first check the fan blade for obstructions. Next, try turning the fan motor blade by hand. If the blade does not spin freely, replace the condenser fan motor. If no obstructions are present and the fan blade spins freely, use a multimeter to test the fan motor for continuity. If the condenser fan motor does not have continuity, replace it.

Evaporator Fan Motor
The evaporator fan motor draws air over the evaporator (cooling) coils and circulates it throughout the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Some refrigerators have more than one evaporator fan motor. On refrigerators with only one evaporator, the evaporator is located in the freezer compartment. If the evaporator fan is not working, it will not circulate the cold air to the refrigerator compartment. If this occurs, the freezer may still get cold, while the refrigerator will not get cold. To determine if the evaporator fan motor is defective, try turning the fan blade by hand. If the fan blade does not turn freely, replace the fan motor. Additionally, if the motor is unusually noisy, replace it. Finally, if the motor does not run at all, use a multimeter to test the motor windings for continuity. If the windings do not have continuity, replace the evaporator fan motor.

Start Relay
The start relay works in conjunction with the start winding to start the compressor. If the start relay is defective, the compressor may sometimes fail to run or may not run at all. As a result, the refrigerator will not be cold enough. To determine if the start relay is defective, use a multimeter to test it for continuity between the run and start terminal sockets. If the start relay does not have continuity between the run and start terminal sockets, replace it. In addition, if the start relay has a burnt odor, replace it.

Temperature Control Thermostat
The temperature control thermostat directs voltage to the compressor, evaporator fan motor, and condenser fan motor (if applicable). If the temperature control thermostat is not working properly, it may prevent the refrigerant system from running. To determine if the thermostat is defective, rotate the thermostat from the lowest setting to the highest setting and listen for a click. If the thermostat clicks, it is not likely defective. If the thermostat does not click, use a multimeter to test the thermostat for continuity. If the temperature control thermostat does not have continuity at any setting, replace it.

Start Capacitor
The start capacitor provides a boost of power to the compressor during start-up. If the start capacitor isn’t working, the compressor may not start. As a result, the refrigerator will not cool. To determine if the start capacitor is defective, test it with a multimeter. If the start capacitor is defective, replace it.

Temperature Control Board
The temperature control board provides voltage to the compressor and fan motors. If the temperature control board is defective, it will stop sending voltage to the cooling system. However, this is not a common occurrence. Control boards are often misdiagnosed—before replacing the control board, first test all of the more commonly defective components. If none of the other components are defective, consider replacing the temperature control board.

"Like most folks, I spent many MANY hours weighing out my options before purchasing a range. I looked at virtually everything under $9K and realized the following: I wanted dual fuel for the added control and monitoring of oven functions, but had to be prepared to pay heavily for this convenience if I wanted the quality of a truly high-end manufacturer. That is, until I found the Sofia. At first, I overlooked this range while equating price and workmanship. I had pretty much settled on the Thermador dual fuel, but decided to visit a show room just to be certain. Fortunately, sitting right next to the Thermador at the show room was the Fulgor Milano Sofia, and it outshines the Thermador by a mile. The workmanship on the Sofia is brilliant, from the HEAVY oven door with soft-close function, to the overall aesthetic, the Sofia is truly a beautiful piece of machinery. The functionality of the 6 huge burners is stellar, and the little things like the food temperature probe that connects with the digital display lend a little extra technology to the unit that you just don't see in other make/models. All this at a price point of gas-only base-models in it's competitors. The only, likely unfounded, slight twinge of reservation I had upon purchasing came from the fact that Fulgor seems to be relatively unknown in the US market. I think you can chalk this up to the fact that they are a relatively new competitor here. I took a chance on them and so far couldn't be happier. If the quality holds the way it has been during my first few months of use, this range is bound to make waves in the market. I think any discerning buyer will feel the same way too. Buying through AJ Madison was a good experience as well. The delivery company was flexible and worked with me on coordinating drop off as the kitchen was under construction at the time."

We've had the Fulgor Milano for a couple of weeks now and I am a fan. I looked hard for a unit that would fit in the space built for my old side by side, most were too tall, but this fit perfectly. The unit has a good quality look and feel. I love the lighting inside. Very happy so far!

"I waited for a while so I could use this before reviewing it. I love this range. The gas cook top works so well. Every burner is the same, so I don't have to remember which one is hot and which one is not as hot. Heats up water really quickly. Clean up on the cook top is wonderful. It gives me lots of room. Canning was amazing this year. The oven is huge and the convection for cooking lots of rolls for my big family dinners is great. Over all I am so happy with this purchase. I love having six burners."

Ive owned a $6k Liebherr and wanted to purchase a similar refrigerator. With my current kitchen layout, Liebherr did not have the correct size that I needed to fit my kitchen. Having owned a Fulgor Milano oven, I was impressed with the quality of the oven and found that this refrigerator checked of all of the boxes. We have had this refrigerator for a few weeks now and we are very happy with our purchase. We are able to fit our weekly groceries for a family of four and still have room left over for more items. If you are looking for a higher quality refrigerator without the higher price, I highly recommend this refrigerator. Notes: 1) Water source in refrigerator does not cool the water, it is room temperature and would require ice to chill the water. 2) You must purchase the handles as an extra, they are not included with the refrigerator.

"I researched stoves online for a long time prior to making this purchase, and visited many stores that sell mid and high end stoves. I really wanted a commercial grade stove with some key features, but also had a budget to consider. My wife and I cook and bake daily so wanted something with lots of room, power, and good quality. Key features I wanted included 36" 6-burner gas stove with large electric convection oven (aka dual fuel), self clean, and of key importance, it had to look really good. :-) I am in no way associated with FM, AJ Madison, and offer this as an unbiased review. My budget evolved over time, and I came to the conclusion to get everything I wanted I would need to spend $5-$6k. Of course I started looking at some of the lower price models first but found they all lacked either some of the key features or overall build quality. I looked at Verona, NXR, Bluestar, Bertazzoni, DCS, Thermadore, Viking, Wolf, and others. The lower end models (Verona, NXR) either lacked features or build quality. The higher end (Thermadore, Viking, Wolf) offered watered down versions at my price point and also lacked key features such as dual duel and self clean in their lower end models. Bertazzoni, offered some similar features, but in putting my hands on both at appliance stores, I found the Fulgor Milano to be hands down superior- way more power for burners, much larger oven (5.2 cf vs 4.0 cf) and all around better build. The FM weighs around 385 lbs. vs. 250 lbs. for Bertazzoni. Okay, about the range. I purchased the Fulgor Milano (FM) Sophia 36" DF range. First off, I have owned it for about 4 months. I wanted to allow some time to really get to know it. Cooktop: 6 high powered 18,000 btu solid brass burners. I wanted all high power so I could cook anything on any burner, unlike some of the other stoves with some low power burners. 18,000 btu really packs some punch. Also, these are dual stack burners that allow one to reduce to very low simmer on inner ring. They work great. The cooktop also features 3 continuous grates which are very solid and allow you to slide large pots around easily. Also, the cooktop is a one piece, matte black surface, that is really easy to clean, durable, and doesn't show grime or scratch like some of the unfinished stainless steel (SS) surfaces on other models. A very minor cleaning issue: there is a narrow seam on front edge of cooktop just wide enough to trap a grain of rice or equivalent 1/16" maybe). I have used a toothpick to clean. There are six metal burner control knobs with burner location graphic for each that feel well made and have a gas shutoff built in if burner goes out (hasn't happened to me but a nice safety feature). One final note on the cooktop, the front surface is solid billet aluminum and not pressed SS. I feel it will resist dents and dings much better than SS. Oven: large, 5.2 cf oven, with 3 racks (one sliding), and two oven lights. This model has two convection fans. I bought an over thermometer to double check temps and found the oven temp to be very accurate. The oven uses two knobs and a LCD touch screen display to control everything. One knob controls baking modes. Bake, broil, roast, plus convection and non-convection, while the other controls temp. The display show time, oven temp., and also has a timer, and a preheat display. Originally, I was looking for an over with no display as with the commercial ovens, but I am really happen with this display, it is easy to use and I like having the timer and the preheat indicator bars. The oven has a cool temp. Probe you insert into your beef/poultry and the LCD shows the internal temp while it is baking. Due to the size of the oven, it takes a while to get up to temp (maybe 10-12 min to 350 and 17-20 minutes to 450. The oven has 4 pane glass so is cool to touch even at high baking temp. Also I find the door metal surfaces etc. warm but not hot to touch during baking. The door is soft close which I have found useful and keeps the heavy door from slamming. The oven performance has been excellent, convection makes for crisp cookies, French fries, and meats/poultries. I really like the variety of settings with baking elements and convection, as well as the evenness in temp. Plus at close to 400 lbs. it seems to radiate heat well. Unfortunately I have not used the self clean feature yet choosing to wipe down spills to date. I really like having that option for major clean up though. I also feel that an oven built to withstand 900 degree self clean is built to last. Range hood: I have not installed this yet (kitchen renovation) so can only comment that it looks really solid heavy gauge SS with 600 cfm fan so I am looking forward to using it. Wok holder and Simmer plate: very nice add one that fit perfect in place on the burner grates. The simmer plate actually nests inside the wok holder so you can leave them in place if desired on one of the unused burners. I recommend them. Appearance/build quality: this is one of the best looking stoves I have seen. Really beautiful, commercial but modern and elegant. This seems really well made. FM did not skimp on materials. The billet solid front to cooktop, billet oven handle mounts, even the solid metal logo on oven door are all quality. Order/Delivery: AJ Madison was great throughout the process. I worked with Victor Swed who provided excellent service. They offered the best price I could find plus free shipping and no tax. Also, there was a special with 1/2 off the matching range hood. Delivery was well planned and the item came well boxed and strapped to a pallet. I did have to wait a few weeks for the range hood which arrived well after the stove. Also, the wok and simmer plate were on back order so took a while to arrive. Not a big deal to me and well worth the wait. Warranty: I bought the 5 year supplemental warranty for around $450, which, if not used, is rebated 50% for a total cost of around $225. Registering was a fairly easy process."

"I wanted to give a quick review as I researched and researched for months and looked at every major appliance store in the Northern VA Area including Best Buy, AJ Madison, Miele Experience Store, ADU and ABW. But this is about the range not the place you buy it from. In short this range has exceeded my expectations in every way and am sure it will yours as well. For me it came to this range vs. a 10,000 Miele dual fuel range and feel like I made the right choice. Looked at Z Line, Samsung, Jenn-Air, Thermador, GE, LG Signature, Blue Star, and many others. It came down to Blue Star vs. Fulgor vs. Miele. They all have their strengths. But aesthetically and functionally I think Fulgor equals if not exceeds some of the other high end models for a bit less pocket change and you sacrifice nothing. The knobs and grates and range surface (more on that later) and the over cavity are top notch. Each of the Sofia's 6 burners go from low, low, low to 18 to 20K. I didn't see that on any other range. Also the top of the range is covered in not the typical shiny porcelainized black top in every other range (although Fisher-Paykel are stainless) but a matte finish which sort of reminds you of Silverstone non-stick and doesn't highlight the oil and messes that inevitably will land there. It is easy to clean. I have not used the electronic control for the oven (typically not needed except for a few functions) except for turning on rapid preheat or setting the time clock. Otherwise everything works like a charm. This thing just exudes luxury and quality as well as the much more expensive Jenn-Air's, Miele's and BlueStars. I can literally bring a big pot of water to boil in like 5-10 minutes. It's awesome in a word."
