how do pool heat pumps work

If you own a pool, then you probably have something to warm it up, whether it's a heater or a heat pump. While a heater and a heat pump both do the same job, a heat pump works a bit differently than a heater. Despite their name, heat pumps don't generate heat. Instead, they use the air wa[...]

Product Reviews:

After reading all the reports on the Carrier heat pump failures and quality control issues I needed to add my story to the list. I thought I was the only one to have to replace the compressor and circuit control boards and too many service call to remember. I bought the system in 2005. Compressor went out under the ten year time span. Replaced by installer but like everyone else not the freon or labor. If there is a class action lawsuit I'd sure like to join in on it. Anyone involved can contact me at any time. Latest problem is in the zone control board. I am still dealing with this issue at present.

KeepRite has been keeping Canadian homes warm for more than 50 years, and in that time they’ve earned a reputation for reliable and high-quality products. They have a range of models available depending on your needs, including more affordable standard-efficiency options with ratings of 80 percent AFUE and higher (though these are meant for the USA market), high-efficiency models with ratings up to 98 percent AFUE, and options for both gas and propane furnaces. Beyond that, each unit is tested before being delivered, and many come with a 20-year warranty on the heat exchanger.

In 2007 we had a new Goodman 4 ton 15 SEER heat pump installed in our home. Nothing but problems since. Much review was done before purchase to make sure size was appropriate for home, etc. Never really feels like it's heating or cooling properly. Numerous times per year it has required repair, run capacitor, defrost control board, blower motor, bad txv (whatever that is), bad reversing valve. Last week started making awful noise while running. Repairman said it needs new fan. And last night it started throwing the breaker at the heat pump. So tired of this piece of crap, would not recommend.

The Daikin furnace that I replaced had served our family efficiently for twenty five years until it broke down three years ago. I immediately replaced it with a newer model of Daikin. As always, it has low maintenance needs; all that is required is for me to change the filters at least three times a year. I have never had to repair the Daikin, but it still runs smoothly. If I were to make a furnace purchase again, I would still purchase this unit.

I just recently had a complete HVAC system installed a few months back. We had our first Trane HVAC system for almost 20 years. We couldn't be more happy with this system. We would recommend Trane to everyone because of their quality and longevity!

We installed two Trane XLi20 units five years ago. The first floor unit has performed flawlessly. The second floor air handler was replaced within two months, followed by over 20 service visits by our local Trane installer (who has been great throughout). Since the local distributor has not been able to solve the recurrent coiling failure issues and Trane has not offered to replace the compressor, even though the problem almost always seems to be low refrigerant pressure, our installer has offered to install a comparable new Lennox system for free. Trane has been non-responsive to consumers for such a long time that I cannot believe they can still survive in this business. Never again. Has anyone started a class action against Trane? I'd love to join in.

I had a Carrier ac unit installed in my new home in 2016. I have regular scheduled maintenance every 6 months. Today at my maintenance visit I was charged $523.25 because of a bad TXV valve. My unit is currently off as I am waiting for the part. After paying almost $5200 for the unit and air handler I should not have to be replacing defective parts. I would not recommend Carrier products.

Three years ago, at the Munkkivuori Garden, it was considered how the premises would be kept warm and the flowers happy. The gas heater didn’t work, but the diesel-powered Airrex AH-300 was chosen as the right heating solution.

We had a Rheem two-stage R-410A Heat Pump (4 ton) (2 speed) outdoor unit with matching 4 ton air handler (variable speed) installed in September 2014 by Home Depot's contractor ARS with county permit. We know it was professionally installed correctly. We signed up for the service program with twice yearly inspections for maintenance. Everything checked out until our March 2017 service call when it was discovered that the static pressure was too high. When the air handler panel was removed you could see that 2/3rds of the "A" coils was covered with frost, a result of internal restriction. Also, on close examination, you could see rust all around the tubes where they came out and went back (U shape). My contractor did a replacement installation of the coil unit. The unit itself was covered by Rheem's 10 year warranty but not the labor, so I was out $997. This for a coil unit that was not 3 years old, the date of manufacture was July 2014, installed September 2014. Very poor quality. What is most interesting is that the replacement coil unit is all aluminum. The contractor/installer said all the new Rheem units similar to mine now come with the all aluminum coil units. This tells me that Rheem knew it had junk and switched out to the all aluminum, which will not have a rust issue and hopefully not an internal issue with restrictions.

I have had a Carrier air conditioning system for over 25 years and had to make only one repair on a faulty relay which cost less than $ 150.00, I don`t need to say anything more but this unit has always proved to be reliable year after year after year....
