How Do You Use a Dryer?
Posted On: July 25, 2021

It's a common question asked by teenagers and even college and university students, how do you use a dryer? While it may be easy for some to use, especially those using one for a while. Some people still have questions about whether or not they are using their dryer properly.

Here are a few simple tips for beginner and even advanced users:

  1. Sorting is key: While it may seem small, drying similar clothes together, such as jeans with jeans and lighter clothes with other lighter clothes, will significantly impact the dry time.
  2. Wet clothes mean higher drying times: It sounds strange, but if your clothes are soaking wet, they will take longer to dry. To avoid this, make sure your clothes go through the washer's spin cycle.
  3. Heat setting: Selecting the right setting for your load will help your clothes dry better. You will want to choose a high heat setting for heavy loads, and for the smaller, more delicate loads, a low setting will do just fine.
  4. Set the dry time: For older models, you may need to set a time to dry the clothes. But for the newer dryers, let the technology do it for you.
  5. Don't forget the dryer sheets: Placing a dryer sheet with your clothes will not only make them smell fresh, but it will also reduce that annoying static cling.
  6. Don't forget to press start: Push that start button, and away you go!
  7. Clean the lint trap after each load: Probably the most crucial step is cleaning out the lint trap. Not only will it improve the dryer's function, but it's also a safety measure as built-up lint traps can cause fires.

These are just a few simple tips you can pass along to your teenager, college student, or anyone else who needs some advice on properly using a dryer.
