Why is My Dishwasher Not Cleaning My Dishes?
It can be a huge pain if your dishwasher is not cleaning your dishes, and this could happen for a number of reasons.
Clean Your Interior
Whether it be grease, bits of food, soap scum, and more, things begin to accumulate within your dishwasher if you do not clean it regularly. Cleaning the interior of your dishwasher is the first thing you should do if your appliance is not working properly. Try pouring three cups of white vinegar in the bottom of your dishwasher and run a full cycle to remove buildup.
Clean Your Filter
Another reason why your dishwasher’s not working properly could be due to a clogged filter. Newer dishwasher models typically have a removable filter which should be taken out and cleaned on a regular basis. To clean your filter, remove it from the appliance, run it under hot water, and remove any gunk.
Check Your Soap Dispenser
If there’s something wrong with your soap dispenser, the detergent may not be reaching your dishes and may not be released during the correct time during your wash cycle. The most common reason for this issue is a jammed spring in the dispenser door, which can be cleaned using hot water, vinegar, and a small brush. Also, check to make sure your gasket is not cracked, as that could also be the reason for your problem.
Check for Low Water Temperature
In order to work properly, most dishwasher need a water temperature of at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit. While many dishwasher models have a heat-boosting mechanism built in, some dishwashers do not, so make sure your water heater is set correctly.
If you are still unable to fix your dishwasher, call a professional to come take a look at it.
