KUPD02CRBL3 Dishwasher starts and after a few minutes the door pops open and it stops... Sometimes when I clean residue near bottom of the door or keep object away from vent in upper left of door, it will run. Unit is 7 yrs old. It has great capacity, is quiet and cleans well... just would like to know what the heck is going on with the door.Updated on 09/25/2015: I used the diagnostic to reset maintenance cycle that was located on the backside of the bottom plate of the dishwasher. So far its working well. Hope this helps everyone... also going to clean out area inside under spray wand to make sure there is nothing in pump area.

Called customer service and of course had to wait for a few days. And I know it wont be repaired when the tech comes. Never again. Never again.

May 2011, I purchased a French door fridge, with bottom freezer. After several service calls, they finally changed the main electronic board on December 2011. However, this is the end of February and once again everything is freezing in the fridge compartment. I raised the temp to 40 degrees and it is still too cold to touch the food. I spent multiple thousands for Kitchen Aid Fridge, Oven, DW and microwave, at this moment, the fridge is the worst of them.

Twice, the microwave glass door on my Kitchenaid electric high speed microwave/convection oven unit has shattered into a million pieces when I have used self clean on the oven below. What is the value of a self cleaning oven if you cant use the self cleaning part? In addition, the spring on the oven door broke for no reason. This combination oven/microwave is a lemon!

It is an average refrigerator with ice bucket in the door. However, the ice in bucket always clumps. Also, it is difficult to keep dust and dirt off the grill underneath the refrigerator due to tight distance between grill and floor space. It is hard to regulate the temperature controls for the vegetable bins. After cleaning the dirt and fuzz from the grill at bottom of the refrigerator there was a noise.

We have had our KitchenAid KGRS505X oven for less than 3 years and it has broken down twice. First time only after a month which was under warranty. The 2nd was a couple weeks shy of three years. It is costing us $300 for a one year service warranty so we can get it repaired. Reasonable expectation for an oven of this cost would be 10 years of trouble-free service. So, at this rate I will have purchased this appliance twice in the expected 15 years of service. I cant tell you how much I regret buying this piece of garbage.

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We have never experienced damage to our porcelain ovens from other manufacturers. Our VIP SUPERIOR PROTECTION PLAN also will not cover this situation. We would not recommend Kitchen Aid Ranges. We would appreciate a settlement.

We purchased a new KitchenAid KSBS25TVBL01 Side by Side with ice maker in the door. The design is lousy! The flapper valve is supposed to close after ice is dispensed but it is so poorly designed that it closes weakly. As a result, warm air flows into the ice bin area and starts to melt the ice. It slowly leaks and leaks. Our refrigerator has a wooden panel on the front and water builds up behind the thing. I just took it off today and the wood had swollen so much that I had to gently pound it off. We will call tomorrow and ask for another repairman. Initially we bought this thing because supposedly it was one of the best warranty-wise, but this part of it is junk. We are afraid to use the ice maker so will just shut it off. Based on what I am reading, it looks like the only solution is to dumb the thing and buy another brand. We paid a bunch for this thing and I think have been hosed!

While cooking a roast at 225, which should have taken eight hours, the oven went into the broiler mode at the two-hour mark. If we were not at home, we would have had smoke damage to the interior of the house. The door locked and could not be opened. All controls failed and we had to shut off the breaker. After cooling down for one hour, the door opened and we removed the black pork roast. The oven is still in the broiler mode on high and will not shut off.

Ok, here we go! I am writing this review in the midst of having to repair an only 2-year old KitchenAid KRFF507ESS01 refrigerator. I wish I had seen these consumer report reviews prior to purchase!! Please take my review seriously so that I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake!! The major issues started about 3 months ago!! First, we noticed a noise (maybe fan) coming from back of fridge... louder at some times than others. I also didn’t realize at time that water leaking from ice dispenser when in use had preceded the noise! I just previously ‘chalked’ that issue up because it didn’t occur all the time! After about a couple of weeks of the noise getting louder and softer, it went away! The bigger issue a couple of weeks later became that the fridge was not cooling properly... Supposed to be 37* in fridge. And at this point the ice maker was not working well; making a handful of ice cubes that were not fully formed! My husband and I ran through the manuals extensive list of troubleshooting advice but could not find the issue! We cleaned the front vent from dust thinking this may be the cause... This seemed to resolved issue or so we thought!! 2 days later the fridge and ice maker were malfunctioning again with same issues except the noise!! I also purchased a thermometer for fridge and freezer to see what internal temps were... 50* in fridge and 30* in freezer! I purchased these because there is no other way that fridge indicates internal temps??? Only set temperature is accessible from LCD panel!I called a repairman who walked in and immediately knowing the (common) issue from a bottom freezer fridge, pulled out the deli drawer which revealed ice formed completely covering condenser cover. He proceeded to tell me these are the worst refrigerators (bottom freezer) and also that they are not built to last more than a year before needing repairs! He said he recommends anybody purchasing one to get the extended warranty because the manufacturer warranty is EXTREMELY limited beyond 1 year as stated in manual. He then ordered a fan, wire and harness and cover (I imagine because he may break existing cover removing it). Boom! $169. For service call. He wasn’t sure what parts will cost yet because his iPad was not working and had to place order on phone through his employer. He then gave me instruction to empty fridge and freezer and leave doors open to defrost ice for 2 days! Thanks KitchenAid once again!! I had to throw out over $500 worth of food from fridge and freezer!! He then said that it will get down to proper temps and that I could use again but that buildup of ice will start again but hopefully be resolved with replacement parts. Hopefully doesn’t sound promising!!Unfortunately, I didn’t purchase an extended warranty but that isn’t the point I’m trying to make! The fact of the matter is that KitchenAid builds a crappy fridge!! Unfortunately, I purchased matching dishwasher and wall oven/microwave combo at same time so now I’m just waiting for issues with these (As a side note, the handle on freezer drawer loosens all the time for which I have to tighten with allen wrench every few days!)!! Well that’s my story as I wait for replacement parts and looking forward to that bill! Sincerely FRUSTRATED KitchenAid customer!

For the second time the transistor/computer board has malfunctioned. We bought the appliance in set 2006. After two months we had a terrible leak due to a faulty stab fitting in the water line. In Feb 2010 the transistor blew and was replaced. It happened again and now we need to get a rebuilt one, not new because of the tsunami knocking out the plant that used to make the parts. Why would I trust the part? Also they say turnaround is 48 hours, we will see. If it werent for the custom wood panels I have on the fridge, I would switch to a new brand!

In July of 2014, we bought a KitchenAid fridge with all the bells and whistles. French Door with the ice bin in the fridge door, electronic control of temp in wine drawer, 3 pull out trays in freezer and so on. We paid $3299.99 and it was by far the worst purchase I have ever made. 2 weeks after it was delivered I awoke to my kitchen floor covered in water. The water was dripping out of the LED lights in the fridge. I called to have a tech come out and they came 3 days later and changed 2 parts then said it would be fine. 3 hours later, it started leaking water again. I called and another tech came out 5 days later and did some adjustments then left. The next day, I woke to more water on the floor. Tech came again 6 days later changed a few parts. 6 hours later, water all over the floor. It took 7 technicians to finally fix the problem. I thought it must have just been a freak thing and surely everything will be fine now. 3 months later, my fridge wasnt staying cold. All the milk products were spoiled and I had just went shopping the day before. I called to have it serviced. Took 9 days for a tech to come out and they changed the seal. The following day still not cold. I called again waited 5 days for a tech and they changed the computer. All fixed again. 4 months later my freezer quit working. Again, it took 2 calls and 2 weeks to get it fixed.Well, I am on the last straw, my freezer quit working again yesterday. I called for a tech and I have to wait till next Thursday (8 days) for someone to show up. I told them I dont even want the fridge anymore, it is unreliable. They told me that if it had 4 or more problems in a 12 month period they would replace it but since they have been spread out over the past 20 months they will not. So here we go again.I thought KitchenAid was a great name brand. They make great mixers and other small appliances I cant go wrong. WRONG!!! They know what they are doing with small appliances but their large appliances are cheaply made and use the cheapest parts that always seem to fail. Stay clear of their refrigerators. In less than 2 years I have had 11 technicians out and the 12th is coming next Thursday. I have had 8 parts replaced so far and have lost who knows how much money in food spoilage. If they really stood behind their product they would have by now replaced the fridge.

When we did our kitchen renovation, we put in a top of the line KitchenAid Dishwasher (and double oven). The dishwasher control panel stopped working after 2 weeks and had to be replaced. Since then, the new control locks up on a regular basis requiring me to reset the fuse in the fuse box to make it work again. The detergent dispenser doesnt open at least once in every 10 washes, requiring me to put the dishes through a second cycle to clean them. We have been having similar problems with the KitchenAid double convection oven - the control panel had to be replaced one month after the warranty ended costing us $400 to repair. Both appliances are just over one year old. I wouldnt recommend any KitchenAid to anyone.

Bought a very expensive fridge and have had to get it worked on 2 times already. This time I am going to have to wait over a week to get someone out to look at it so I am out a fridge. If you cannot work on it then you should not be selling it. If you pay over $2600.00 for something you want it to work. When I called they said that yes they have been having trouble with that. Thank God I bought the extended warranty. I will never buy anything else from SEARS. And I will tell everyone I know not to. I am very surprised that this company can stay in business with the way they handle any issues that customers may have.

We purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher about 3 years ago. KUDS35FXSSO. This dishwasher had the wheels on the top rack fall apart within the first 2 years. Then just days ago, the main controller just stopped working. It looked like the controls were not getting power. So we called Whirlpool and they sent out a local company to see what was wrong. I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that the controller is known to go out and be defective. Also the internal control box was hanging by the wires, also known issue and has caused fires. I also found out the valve was not working so the top sprayers were not getting water so they were not cleaning the top dishes. The parts for these items are covered from years 2-5, but not labor. Total labor cost for all of this plus the previously mentioned cost is around $300. That is not to mention that a heating error was also found (another known issue) but not covered by the warranty. My question is if all of these are known issues, and have occurred to many people, why are these dishwashers not recalled? Or why hasnt there been a class action lawsuit! I will not have them fix this piece of garbage, just so I can pay again down the road to replace or have it fixed again.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher model # KUDS301XSS in February 2012. We previously owned a KitchenAid for 18 years and NEVER ever had a service call on it! Now this new one is less than 2 years old and the rollers on the top rack have broken (they are plastic). Then when I set the buttons to run the washer, it would act like it was going to start, then cancel and drain! Found out today from the repairman that this is a common problem. The pump is out! Says this happens frequently usually within the first 5 years! Thankfully I did purchase the extended warranty but on a dishwasher that cost nearly $1,000 one should not have to! I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid again! Also, bought KitchenAid Refrigerator a year ago. And have already had to replace the ice maker and had a service call about a leak in one of the hoses! So disappointing!

Our KitchenAid Double Oven has had consistently horrible problems with both upper and lower door hinges for the last 10 years. Thank God we opted for an extended appliance warranty because after every holiday with lots of use, we need to have the hinges replaced on one or both oven doors. Our KitchenAid stainless steel 5 burner built-in cooktop with Downdraft Vent has also needed replacement four times in the last 10 years and has been repaired five times in between the replacements due to the burners failure to light, or the burning of the bottom of our pots and pans due to burner malfunctions needing the burners to be removed and replaced.

I too have the issue of an extremely foul odor coming from my dishwasher since day one (Ive had it less than a year). I have had 3 service calls per Sears. They have all told me the usual, clean with certain products, run a cycle with vinegar and baking soda, it must be my garbage disposal etc... nothing worked. I finally called KitchenAid directly. They sent one of their service people out to inspect the machine today. He explained that the machine was built without a vent fan. I was not aware that dishwashers had vent fans, but I am also not an appliance mechanic. He said that I need to leave the door open and run a cycle of vinegar through after each use. So, I need to use double the water and double the electricity to get one load of dishes done. Not to mention, trip over the open door each time I walk into my kitchen. My questions is... if there is no proper ventilation then I have to assume that mold and bacteria will ultimately become a problem (if not already). Why has no one from KitchenAid thought about this? Ultimately, this is a potential health hazard. All this time I think my dishes are clean when in fact I am just washing them within a dishwasher full of nasty things that can potentially make my family sick. Im glad I dont have infants anymore. Can you imagine sterilizing baby bottles in this piece of crap?! I am still working with KitchenAid to resolve the problem. We will see how this goes. I can say for sure that Sears has been awful, no help whatsoever. Customer service very very rude. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears, and after reading all the horrible reviews, I will never buy another KitchenAid. I am also having issues with the top rack. I have to hold it in while I load the bottom rack. Very inconvenient.Updated 5/30/2016: Just an update to my previous (5/24/2016) post. As I feared, KitchenAid customer service has been no more helpful than Sears customer service. I was told that theres nothing that can be done about the foul smell in my dishwasher. I have been committed to having a piece of crap dishwasher. In the meantime, I am writing letters to the CEO of Whirlpool as well as all the board and committee members. Perhaps if others do the same, one of our letters will end up in the hands of someone who cares. If you do a Google search of CEO of Whirlpool, the leadership page for Whirlpool will come up. Replaced a FUNCTIONING yet older dishwasher that was 12 years old. Purchased KitchenAid thinking Id get many years of trouble-free operation! NOT!!!! Within a month we were seeing that dishes were not coming as clean as our old machine. 4 months later the entire pump assembly had to be replaced. NOW at 14 months (two months out of warranty), it wont even light up... DEAD... and Im told its going to cost me damn near HALF of what I paid for it to get it fixed... REALLY... NEVER, EVER buy KitchenAid!

Have only had my dishwasher 4 months and the top rollers broke. I spent a lot of money to get what I was told was a good dishwasher, so having the rollers break after 4 months makes me angry. Then to find it isnt covered under warranty really made me mad. Kitchenaid should be honest and stand Behind their products!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model #KDPE234GPS0, in March of 2020. In November right before Thanksgiving, the pump and motor died. The service tech told me that this normally happens in about a year and a half. He was surprised it happened so soon. He told me to get an extended warranty because it will happen again. Its now January of 2021, still no dishwasher and KitchenAid said they dont know when parts will be available! I should have spent the extra money and bought the Miele like I had previously. DONT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! STAY AWAY!! Oh yeah and 1 more thing.. This thing always has an awful odor to it.

I bought the Kitchenaid KDTE404 (architect series) dishwasher for $900 and had it installed by company who sold it to me. The dishwasher bottom rack was broken, but installer/company repaired it within a week. The rack system is crap. Has plastic inserts with ball bearing. Inserts get hard, breakoff and ball bearing fall out. After 30 months the top rack fell off due the roller assembly breaking. Bottom rack has same issue. Cost for replacement of upper and lower assemblies parts alone were over $350 with discount. Dishwasher must be completely un-installed to replace assemblies. Dishes come clean, its very quite, but if the racks fall out/down while loading, its not really a good product. I can break my own dishes thank you very much. Next repair gets it booted to the side walk.

The glass on my KitchenAid lower wall oven shattered (it was not on at the time). When I called KitchenAid they gave me the name of their local approved repair vendor. I ordered the part and paid the high price for a replacement. When the repair technician came to replace the defective part HE COULD NOT DO SO! The replacement part had not been manufactured properly. It was defective. The subject part was the outside glass pane attached to the stainless front panel. The glass was not centered and there was a 1/8 gap on one side and the other side was attached so that the part was twice as thick as it should have been. The thickness prevented the attachment screws from connecting. Obviously, Whirlpool is not familiar with the concept of quality control. The technician took the defective part back to their shop and ordered a new replacement. That part has the same defect! I am told that the vendor has tried several other suppliers and have not been able to find a non-defective replacement part.I never had trouble with replacement parts when Hobart owned KitchenAid! The Whirlpool organization negotiated the lowest price possible with their replacement parts vendor--probably in China--who gives Whirlpool their moneys worth and KitchenAid owners now suffer with the result. IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS and there is not a properly manufactured replacement part in sight!!!! This oven is almost twelve years old but for the price KitchenAid charges it should last one hell of a lot longer than that! Model: KEBC208KSSO, SN: XM4400465. Sadly, the approved Whirlpool vendor who is suppose to be repairing my oven door has not bothered to call me back since the first week this fiasco began.

I was cleaning it to prepared to load it from my old refrigerator only to find that the bottom freezer drawer cannot be removed for cleaning and there is no way to get to the bottom floor of the freezer to clean it. I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service to find out how to remove the drawers and after nearly 30 min, the CSR told me that he couldnt find a way to do it. How can KitchenAid (Whirlpool) sell something that cannot be cleaned? I am so angry and frustrated. The young man told me he would file a complaint but that there was nothing else he could do. Terrible design that cost me over $3000.

Our dishwasher is 3 1/2 years old. 4 of the 7 sections of the silverware baskets are useless because the bottom plastic grid has disintegrated. We replaced the motor last year because of plastic debris. I called KitchenAid after leaving a message on their website that was not returned with a response. Today I called and talked to 4 different people. The first one couldnt help me with a replacement unless I bought a new one; he transferred me to another but her computer wasnt working and she transferred me to another who took the info again and put me on hold. Another person answered as if I had not talked to anyone and offered to sell me a new one. I told her I thought KitchenAid that they should replace it and I had photos to prove my claim. She hung up on me. The total time was almost fifteen minutes on hold. So, I guess Im out of luck and will NEVER purchase KitchenAid or Whirlpool (who bought them) ever again.

Purchased a higher end Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KUDE60FVSS3 in 2010. End of 2016 dishwasher was having issues with it not draining at the end of the cycle. Had a local repairman out twice. He replaced the drain pump and repositioned the drain line - didnt fix the issue. Contacted Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service and set up an appointment with a factory authorized technician. Factory certified tech couldnt figure out what was wrong (test was not producing an error code). He suggested replacing the main board and drain valve sensor - ($400+). He couldnt guarantee that this would fix the problem since he couldnt get an error code. I understand that appliances break down, and I was prepared to have this one repaired, but when the fix is a trial and error throw money at it approach, this deems a product as disposable, since its cheaper to buy something new.Although the dishwasher is 6 years old, I estimate that it has run less than 1500 cycles (running it every 3-4 days over the 6 years). Also, in the 6 years Ive had to replace the cutlery baskets twice - cheap plastic garbage. I sent a complaint letter to Whirlpool executives and their response, although quick, was one basically one of Were not prepared to do much. KitchenAid use to have the reputation for quality and reliability. Now they have cheapened the design to where the higher end models are no different than a cheaper $300 disposable machine. There was nothing wrong with the quality of money I paid for this dishwasher, but certainly Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid quality and reliability leaves a lot to be desired. Will never buy another Whirlpool product, nor will I recommend.

I own a KitchenAid dishwasher model # KUDI01ILBL6. We purchased it on Feb. 1, 2005. I had some trouble with it recently and took it apart. Not all the lights on the touch pad would light up and most of the time it would not start. I opened it up. Then I disconnected the ribbon coming from the touch pad that goes to the circuit board and cleaned it with Deoxit (contact cleaner). Put it back together and all worked fine for a while. Today I ran it and nothing would light up, plus theres water standing in the bottom of the tub. Yes there is power to the unit and the fuse on the circuit board is good. It will not do anything at all.

We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS
We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS in 2013. We had repairmen out three years in a row. Each time required several visits. The air tower, ice maker evaporator fan, two fresh food evaporators, valves, a compressor, and a UIn were all replaced. We were out of a refrigerator for 18 days one time and over a week this last time. On one visit they sent a repairman out only to say that he couldnt fix it as it is a closed system. Every time its something different. We have had frost on the top left shelves with water leaking into them, water coming out of the ice dispenser, ice building up on the freezer drawers, water on the floor, and it just quit working. Although we had insurance, it only paid $300 for spoiled food. We have lost more than that. It is always so inconvenient to schedule time for them to come, then reschedule when the part finally comes in. I have complained to Good Deals where we bought it. I dont think they should sell appliances with so many problems. I complained to KitchenAid but all they did was take my complaint. Needless to say I have complained to the repair place,Gulf Appliance. My old Sears refrigerator lasted 26 years without even a service call, and it was a fifth of the cost. I cant believe a company cannot do a better job making an appliance. Did they even test them before putting them on the market? Apparently not. I will never buy another KA fridge again. Our microwave, stove, and oven are all ok but I wonder if they too will go out soon.

As others have written, KitchenAid describes this as cosmetic and will do nothing about it. I talked with 3 customer service persons and emailed pictures. My emails and voicemail message are not returned. I, too, bought KitchenAid thinking it was a high end appliance company. Kitchenaid dishwasher model kuds301xwh7 - This dishwasher is 23 months old. 3 of the 4 upper rack clips have broken. When I called Maytag to schedule service for 10/30, the service provider Bragdon Appliance never showed up. When I called, on 3 occasions, I left messages with no return calls made to me. I called Maytag again to be told they couldnt get them back until 11/7/14. I escalated to a supervisor, Benjamin, who told me they couldnt anyone out any sooner b/c there arent any other providers. I have scheduled service and I am going to buy the replacement part and try to fix on my own. Looking @ the racks they are highly corroded and brittle looking. We dont use high heat or heated dry. We use the silverware rack from our old GE from 7 years ago that is not as corroded nor does it feel brittle.

We also have the KitchenAid model KUDS30CXBL1. The supports for the upper basket have now broken on each side. We were lucky that in the first instance the person we contacted sent a replacement part for no cost and intimated that he would do so even though we did not have a service contract. Well the second time this happened, just the other day, we did have a service contract but they told us this part is not covered by the service contract. So we wasted $85 on a service contract that does not cover what we needed and we now have to pay $25 plus tax and shipping for the part. Needless to say, we are most unhappy with this product and the service contract. We have to pay to replace a part that is a design defect as we have not abused the product in any way. Just normal use. We will not be purchasing a KitchenAid product in the future and do not recommend it to anyone reading this review. KitchenAid was once a very good product, our last dishwasher lasted us 14 years without a problem. Obviously this one will not match that record or even come close.

We knew ahead of buying that the glass door is bad, and do not use the self-clean, but we liked the range. BUT... the burner knobs turn on with barely a bump (KitchenAid sent us a part to stop this, which turned out to be fillers for worn out knobs, and did not fit our model) AND the top under the burners and knobs is NOT PORCELAIN but JUST PAINT! If anything spills on it while cooking, the spill burns in and is NOT cleanable. I guess we should stop cooking and let the range cool and clean it! KA says this is cosmetic, and not covered or important. The top was covered by our extended warranty from Sears, and was replaced with no problems.KA Customer Service is a joke, and I now see that the new KA/Whirlpool is a joke, and manufactures only JUNK! We will NEVER buy from this company again. It is not the company that made our 27-year-old stand mixer! We have been lucky that we have had no serious, dangerous problems, only bad paint, and ovens that do not cook pizzas evenly. We are very happy with our Bosch dishwasher (its so quiet that you do not know that it is running) and our LG French door fridge with ice in the door, and bright white LED lighting inside.

I purchased my KitchenAid French door fridge (Model # KFCS22EVWH2) new in Jan. of 2012. It is now September 2012 and I have a river flowing out of the bottom of my fridge. I have hardwood floors and the water is destroying them. I called Customer Service and a repairman came today. He explained that he reports this problem every day to KitchenAid. Apparently there is a small hole at the back of the freezer that allows condensation to drip into a pan under the freezer. When that hole becomes plugged, the water does not drain and creates an ice dam. When my kitchen heats up from weather or cooking, the ice melts and flows out of the freezer onto my floor. The only way to fix it is to unplug the fridge, let it defrost for 2 days and then plug it back in. Well, that does not fly with me. My husband and I are handicapped and we cannot go through this process every six months to save our floor. This is ridiculous. I called the company back and was told that this is new to them (right!) and they are sending another repair person in tomorrow. I dont know how this will turn out but I do know that I am not very happy right now. Can I trust the person tomorrow to tell me the truth? If he does get it to work, will the problem return after the warranty is up? Who fixes my floor? In all fairness to KitchenAid, I will post the results of tomorrows visit and a follow-up in a few months. I am in hopes that they will take care of this for me without a problem. I purchased a dishwasher and stove at the same time (also KitchenAid) so I hope that this is isolated and not an across-the-board disaster.

We bought a top of the line KitchenAid refrigerator, including an icemaker, about 2 1/2 years ago when we rebuilt our home after a fire. It has a stainless steel door to match the other appliances in out kitchen. Initially, everything worked fine. More recently, the ice was melting in the ice maker and it was jamming. The door also has become damaged and started rusting. We didnt buy the extended warranty, so we had a repair person come to service the refrigerator. He replaced a part and recharged with some freon. The repair cost $500. The ice was still melting (about a month later), so we asked the repair person to come again. He said the compressor is faulty and has to be replaced. It would have to be shipped from outside the country and would cost more than $1,000 (plus labor!). We have decided to replace the refrigerator.

I purchased the KFIS29BBMS French Door Bottom Freezer refrigerator in 12/13. On November 1, 2014 the refrigerator quit cooling and the freezer quit. Of course, we lost food. The dealership brought us a loaner refrigerator because it took several weeks for the part to be delivered. It was repaired on Dec. 12, 2014. On Christmas Day 2014 while we were gone, it quit working again. Again we lost food. It was picked up to be repaired by the dealership on 12/26/14. The old loaner fridge was brought back and I havent seen my refrigerator since. I have called Whirlpool corporation and have been given the standard warranty speech that they will repair it. I have asked for a new refrigerator to replace mine since it was less than 1 year old and obviously defective. Supervisor Chris was not helpful and said I shouldnt have bought the refrigerator if I didnt like the warranty. So count me in if a class action suit is started. I suggest we now go to social media and tell the stories.

In 2013 I purchased a KitchenAid package of appliances for my house. Since last year I have had the repair people out on 5 different occasions and I am still having issues. The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! The top rack will not slide out and weve found metal ball bearings in the dishwasher that we assume are from the side rails. So frustrating... This is standard use and it is crap. When I called to get it repaired I was told that this type of repair is not covered by the extended warranty and the estimate was 2/3rds. The cost of the dishwasher. I was talking to my mom and she told me Son they will take care of it... They didnt and I told her It is not the brand it used to be. I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old. Its a lemon made by KitchenAid. I purchased the refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 in brand new condition from a Texas appliance retailer in North Richland Hills in September of 2012. All was well until six months later, in March of 2013, the refrigerator stopped keeping the non-freezer items cool and ice was forming around the ice maker in the upper refrigerator, and also inside the door of the freezer. They, KitchenAid, dispatched an appliance technician for diagnostics. Lets start the count off for personal days of vacation stolen by these guys. (1 day) Evaporator fan ordered, and installed 10 days later mid April. (2 days) Load noise and additional ice build up 1 week later, service call scheduled. Same repair guy, different day. Parts ordered to replace faulty fan. (3 days) Two weeks later, installed firmware upgraded circuit board. (4 days vacation) In late June, the ice maker stopped working, service scheduled mid July with new service company and technician. (5 days vacation) Of course, parts ordered again... This time, the technician had them shipped to my house.About 12 days later, we received a parts shipment. We called KitchenAid when we received the parts package, asking when the service company was supposed to be back. They contacted them and they were out the next day. (6 days of vacation) Unfortunately, there were two additional parts being shipped and the repair could not be completed. Should not someone have known this dependency when we called? Fast forward an additional two weeks, now we are in early August and we called the service company again since all the parts are in. They cant come out until Sept 3, and in the meantime the refrigerator is making a very loud annoying noise. So, we called KitchenAid to report it and let them know we could not have the appliance serviced with the previous work order since the service provider stated they were only authorized to repair the ice maker. KitchenAid dispatched a third appliance repair company, who was scheduled by KitchenAid for 8/26, then no call no show. They said they did not receive a work order from KitchenAid, but assured me they could make it tomorrow, 8/26. (7 days vacation lost) The third repair company came out today, 8/27, and said they cant repair the refrigerator until the other company completes their work order. (8 days of vacation) Remember now, I still have another appointment scheduled for 9/3/2013, so count on another vacation day, totaling 9 for now and counting.

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

Worst dishwasher ever! Never worked right from day one. Dishes from every load still had food spots in them. The top basket is flimsy and the rollers continually broke. The computer went bad after 3 years. Bought the rip off extended warranty that gave me more excuses than repairs but was sold as a complete coverage warranty. Purchased our new home in 2011 with this top of the line upgraded microwave. A total piece of JUNK. The heating element has broken 4 times. We are ready to go after KitchenAid. We contacted them previously and offered no help. We are not paying to fix this for a 4th time in 5 years. Crazy! We will NEVER buy a KitchenAid product again or recommend to anyone.

In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

KitchenAid refused to cover the parts but did offer a 10% discount if we chose to buy an entire new unit! Ridiculous! Poor service and poorer quality. Never again!

Purchased a wall oven model KEBS109BSS October 2013. Oven completely shut down during cooking, couldnt turn it on, nothing. Had service tech out September 2016 and paid to have it fixed (out of warranty). Same issue again March 2017. Tech out again, had to pay again to have it fixed. Last Saturday, same issue. Have contacted KitchenAid, they wont do anything to rectify the situation because its 4 years old, not cover issue under warranty. I pushed the issue, talked to a manager. They were rude and wouldnt budge. Had the nerve to tell me that it is man-made and parts do fail. Are you kidding me?! Over $2,000 piece of junk that Ive already put $400 into. NOTE: BEWARE - KITCHENAID APPARENTLY EXPECTS THEIR MAJOR APPLIANCES TO LAST 3-4 YEARS.

When we purchase our home, we inherited a built-in refrigerator, model listed above, and it immediately broke down. We had a home warranty and it was repaired satisfactorily under that warranty without assistance from KitchenAid. It was around a 1K repair. The unit was 6 years old. The next repair was one month out of warranty and we repaired again. This time it was over $600.Now my fridge is dead again. I contacted KitchenAid to request a concession due to the fact that the first repairs were done without their assistance and the fact that this unit cannot seem to operate without major repairs. Mind you, this units replacement cost is over 14K. They denied my request for assistance. We now are facing replacing the entire sealed system and multiple boards, and maybe the evaporator fan motor (that have already been replaced before at our cost). I would not ever consider purchasing another unit from KitchAid due to the longevity and customer satisfaction. At our prior home we had a SubZero built-in that was purchased new in 1987 for 6K and when our home sold 29 years later, it was still working with only minor issues during those 29 years.

My last KitchenAid dishwasher was 19 years old and still running but the racks were getting rusty in spots so rather than spend nearly as much for new racks as what a dishwasher would cost, I elected to buy a new dishwasher instead. I bought the model one step down from the top of the line and used it 3 times and today the pump tries to empty the water and it cant. It keeps starting and stopping every 10 seconds or so. I am so disappointed as KitchenAid always was a very reliable brand. I guess they just dont make things the way they used to but they should at least make it the first week after purchase. Pump failed after 9th day of ownership.

I purchased the KitchenAid refrigerator KFIS29PBMS00 2 years ago. My refrigerator has not been keeping things frozen since before Thanksgiving of 2015... It’s now the end of January 2016. It is also leaking water from the water dispenser. I think it is a shame you spend a good amount of money on a new appliance and within 2 years you have 4 problems with it. It has iced up. There was a problem with the door. The ice maker / water dispenser problem... but this freezer problem is the worst. (Thank goodness I have an old refrigerator, you know one that was produced when quality with appliances was great!)But what has become the even worst problem is the warranty company, Consumer Priority Service. You call in your problem. They call someone in your area... they come out to check the problem... leave, order parts and then come back. The first time I called to get someone out they told me they could get someone out in 3 weeks... 3 weeks!!! Come on... 3 weeks! So I bypassed the warranty company the 1st time the freezer had a problem. When they came out they noticed the water leak and said to call the warranty company on it. I did. It was 12/2/2015... They came out 1/21/2016 with the WRONG part. Now Im waiting again. In the meantime, the freezer is broken again. The warranty company notified a repair company... I hadnt heard a response from them so I called them. They said they could not fix my problem and they contacted the warranty company again. Needless to say, this is very frustrating. My beautiful, KitchenAid refrigerator has been no working since before Thanksgiving of last year! I will never buy another KitchenAid product again or warranty service from Consumer Priority Service.

They said they would give me a three hundred dollar discount on a new fridge. Unbelievable! The cost to fix it was going o be $400.00. Not my fault they do not have the part. I will fight this until I get a replacement. In the meantime it will be up to four days for the team to get back to me. Its summer, I do not have a fridge. I purchased a new Kitchenaid dishwasher from Lowes. It cost over $600 and had to be ordered. Two weeks later it was installed. It leaked all over our floor. We called Lowes and they sent the installer back out. He removed it and could find nothing wrong. He reinstalled the machine. It leaked again and he told us we would have to call Whirlpool factory warranty. I did and they sent a repair company. This company worked on the machine for over an hour and could not fix it. They told us to try it. We did and it leaked. I called them back and they came. They worked on the machine, again over an hour. He told us to try it again. We did and it leaked again. The repairman said he had Whirlpool training and he would present our issue to the instructor. The instructor told our repairman they would replace the machine. We have now been notified that they will not replace the machine and are sending a new tub to the repair shop to be replaced in the machine, even though they do not actually know what is wrong. I went to Lowes and spoke to the assistant manager and he said that we should have called them back and they would have replaced the machine, even though their installer told me to call the Whirlpool warranty people, not Lowes. And, Lowes told me that had I bought their extended warranty plan they would replace the machine. But why should I buy an extended warranty when the machine is brand new and has its own warranty. It has been five months now and we still have no dishwasher. Our floor is ruining from the leaked water and no one at Lowes or Whirlpool cares. Im just out $600+. My recommendation is: dont buy anything made by Whirlpool; no Kitchenaid, nothing. And buy nothing from Lowes unless you buy their added warranty.

In April, I unfortunately spent $9,000.00 on KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Since then, I have had problems with the refrigerator. 3 service calls! Now it is Christmas Eve and the refrigerator is not cooling. I am having 22 people to dinner on Christmas. The repair man came and told me that it needs a new compressor. To make matters worse... it needs to be ordered. A 6 month old refrigerator should not need a new compressor! Obviously, it is a lemon. Called Customer Service. Apparently, KitchenAid has no customer service. I requested a new refrigerator because I do not want to keep fixing a defective product. What happens when the warranty runs out? Spoke to a CSR and her supervisor. Just kept reciting the script. Under my warranty... the compressor is a replaceable part so I can not get a new refrigerator. I know that the CEO Jeff Fettic wouldnt want the repaired defective refrigerator either! So then I asked KitchenAid to find a compressor and install it so I can host the XMAS dinner. I was told that is not possible. Best they could do was overnight it and since tomorrow is Christmas, the part would not be shipped until Thursday. KitchenAid is not only ruining my Christmas dinner but it sounds like I wont have a working refrigerator for a while. Not even sure if they really are having the part overnighted. Bottom line.... KitchenAid does not care about a customer once you buy their products. No effort on their part, no matter what the circumstances! I am up the creek regarding my Christmas Dinner and they dont give a damn. Additionally, KitchenAid doesnt want to replace the refrigerator because they will get more money for all the parts the defective unit will need in the future. Or maybe I will buy an extended warranty! Do not buy KitchenAid. It is now December 27th and I still do not have a working refrigerator!

I had this KitchenAid stovetop for 13 years KDRP407HSS4. Suddenly, without warning the broiler went on. I turned off the electricity at the fuse box. I turned it back on and this time the clean cycle went on while the knob was in the reset position. It created a fire. I was there to put it out. Almost exactly one month past the one year warranty, our KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer Model KRSC503ESS is having intermittent freezer issues. Came home from vacation to find water leaking from ice bin because temp inside compartment was well above freezing. Had hoped appliance store would stand behind product but did not/would not and passed it on their contracted repair service. I thought I was upgrading to KitchenAid when spending $2600. Thought I was buying years of satisfied ownership. I was wrong on both accounts. Fortunately (for the time being) the purchase was made through AMEX and we are hoping their warranty extension will see us through this matter. Regardless, I had much higher hopes of quality from KitchenAid.

We purchased the KitchenAid Dishwasher with built-in water softener not last summer, but the previous one (less than 2 years ago). A few weeks ago, we were sitting in our family room when we noticed acrid smoke pouring out of the dishwasher, and an electrical popping noise (shorting). We ran and turned off the power at the breaker box. Sure enough, the control panel was smoking and completely dead. Thankfully, we were in the next room in our open concept home or this could have turned into a major fire. We paid almost $1000 for this dishwasher, hoping that the better model & water softener would mean it would last longer. Do NOT buy this dishwasher as it is UNSAFE to have in your home. We walked away from the Whirlpool brand over this, after many years of brand loyalty to Whirlpool and its family of brands.

We have a KitchenAid Double Wall Oven purchased at Sears in 2001. Just now, fully out of the ten year warranty. Its model no. YKEBSDB3 and serial no. YK210XXXX.This unit has been nothing but trouble since we got it and we are at the point of replacing it. In Canada, this unit sells for over $3500.00. I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

We bought the 29 cubic foot french door freezer bottom fridge (KFIS29PBMS) in the spring, and have had nothing but problems with it. When we received the unit, the door baskets and wide drawer were broken. I called support, and got a very friendly agent who shipped out new parts. In July, we noticed a large ice block forming in the top left corner of the fridge. I called support again, and got an average agent that said it is a known issue that they are making a part for, however it will not be ready until November. Last week I noticed that rust spots are forming on the front of freezer door, AND a fan or compressor now clangs horribly when the unit attempts to cool. It is loud enough that we cannot have a conversation on the main floor without being interrupted. I called support again, and spoke with a very rude agent. They are sending out a service tech, however we are really disgusted with the lack of quality in this product.

Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer)
Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer) - We bought our fridge in late June of 2013. Its now Early September and weve been without a properly functioning appliance for more than 2 weeks. Looking through the reviews, the prospect is daunting of waiting months to get this resolved.Same issue as many. After a call to Kitchen Aid, a technician came to evaluate the issue and determined that it was an evaporator fan malfunction. It took 5 days to get the new part. A new technician/refrigeration expert came to install the new (and faulty) fan (The freezer door, which was functioning fine up to this point, was somehow damaged by him so that now it makes a noise when I open it). He said to give the fan 24 hours to cool the machine. A day later it was no better than it was before, with the temperature hovering around 60 degrees. A new technician was sent out the next day. He determined, after taking the refrigerator apart that the new evaporator fan was faulty. He defrosted the evaporator with a heat gun and talked to Rick at the KitchenAid tech line (On an aside, the drawer display doesnt work at all, a whole different issue). Now were waiting a week to get a new fan and no guarantee that this fan will work. We are very frustrated.

We did a complete kitchen remodel Jan 2012 and chose a KitchenAid double oven. Model #KGRS505XSS02. It’s been a super disappointing experience all the way around. The rubber feet broke on the stovetop grates. Kitchenaid and Lowe’s both said that’s not under warranty and they don’t sell the feet alone so we would need to replace the entire grate for much higher costs. It scratches the stovetop! Next the top oven igniter broke. It was repaired under extended warranty I purchased, not by Kitchenaid. Knobs broke next, would not turn. Again fixed under my extended warranty. Next bottom oven igniter broke but now not under warranty. Next top oven igniter broke again! We called Kitchenaid very angry but they offered no resolution. Now top oven igniter has broken for the 3rd time!! What’s up with Kitchenaid? We got a lemon for sure!

We moved into a newly built house and just as previous reviewer (Emma of Chester) we purchased KitchenAid appliances based on reputation and we prefer to buy American-made when possible. After 16 months of use, our microwave displayed error messages to open/close door and soon the microwave went black. We hadnt purchased an extended warranty because we expected a better product. Unlike Emmas microwave which had control panel on the bottom, ours is on the side. I feel KitchenAid cannot successfully design a venting microwave to install over a cooktop. We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher from Western Appliance in 2010. Paid $754.00 for it. Three years later, it died. I didnt pay up for extended warranty and was later told that just a service call would start at $120.00 for a technician to show up at my door step. Wow. This dishwasher started having problems with the lower rack rollers. They fell off and got melted in the drying element, $80.00 to replace. Then later, the upper rack had a problem with the attachments for it.A few months later, it popped the 20-amp breaker at fuse panel. I reset the panel and it worked for another week. The last straw was it just died. All it would do would have a blinking clean light on the interface panel. We used this appliance once a day for a family of 4. One would think that it would last longer than 3 years. To sum it up, looks nice but what a **. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID PRODUCT. YOU WILL REGRET IT IN THE LONG RUN. In addition while reading the manual that came with the oven shortly after purchase, it warned against using the self-cleaning feature. What?? We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher three months ago. We have had at least two previous dishwashers which were fine. This model KDFE104HPS O leaves water on the dishes and the door. We had two repairmen look at it. The most recent said there seems to be no problem even though the dishes do not dry. He stated that 1) The stainless steel models seem to have that problem; 2) We need to get the water hot before starting the dishwasher so it does not lose the first cycle heating the water; 3) We should use a special rinse agent to aid the drying and 4) We should use the extra dry cycle. In addition, there is an odor that smells like a wet blanket and I think I have even smelled mold. I have owned five dishwashers over the years and have never had this problem. The solutions provided by the repairman actually will cost us more money to run the machine. The only good feature is how quiet it runs.

Our microwave has failed more times than I can count: two circuit boards, the handle, the plastic grill, etc. The first failure was its turning itself on randomly. This unit is a fire hazard and the quality is absolutely the worst I have seen. I am a product design engineer and the plastic materials chosen are the cheapest and the design of the mechanical support features are like a rookie engineer did the work and knew nothing about plastics. The cosmetic cover and the air grill are now held on with black electrical tape. All of our KitchenAid appliances have had numerous failures. As near as I can tell, their product line is a total joke. Dont buy any of it ever.

We remodeled our house and purchased a KitchenAid microwave oven wall unit
We remodeled our house and purchased a KitchenAid microwave oven wall unit Model number KEMS308SSS05. We have owned this unit 2 years and 2 months. The microwave always had a loud sound when running and did not heat. Well we had the microwave serviced within months of purchase while under the manufacturers warranty, it started heating better. Recently the turntable stopped working. We had 5 service calls before it was fixed. The motor had to be replaced along with several electronic boards. Now the oven will not heat to set temp and does not hold its heat. The repair company is coming to fix next week. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again. This was my 1st experience with KitchenAid. We also have a high end Kitchen dishwasher which we had to replace plastic parts for the upper drawer. Very Poor Quality. Now I know why KitchenAid does not have a customer service line you can call.

The KSSC48QTS00 refrigerator I put into service in Dec. 2007 failed Aug. 3, 2015. I am having the same experience with KitchenAid as many others. The circuit boards controlling the refrigerator failed due to an overheating problem brought on due to a design flaw of the compressor housing on top of the unit not being large enough to adequately have proper air flow which caused the circuit boards to overheat and fail. Like the rest of you, I too was told the of plant being destroyed making the parts unavailable to fix the problem. They are now available at the consumers expense because of the warranty expiring. That seems reasonable until I find that the failure was caused by the enclosure being too inadequate to handle the heat load generated by the compressor and motor. I was told that their authorized service technicians have been trained on how to modify the upper enclosure to add more air flow to the newly designed circuit boards to keep them from overheating. I was told that the new board will carry a one year warranty. That seems reasonable, except that if they fail due to heat not being dissipated properly that I would again be responsible for any parts and labor to fix the unit.If a product has to be redesigned for the new parts to work properly, that the expense of the modification should be borne by the company that initially designed the product, not the consumer. I tried in vain to relay this to them. All I got was that it is out of warranty. The consumer is responsible for the parts, labor, and any other expenses associated with the repair. They do though say that they are sorry for our inconvenience and that we have a good day, and thank you for choosing KitchenAid.

I purchased a suite of Kitchen Aid products in July 2011 from Art Handlers
I purchased a suite of Kitchen Aid products in July 2011 from Art Handlers Appliance Center. Refrigerator, dishwasher, gas convection oven and range and microwave. They were installed in my new home. To date, the handle on my microwave didnt just come off, the plastic broke. It just doesnt heat food quickly and is the noisiest microwave ever. The range has knobs on the front and the writing on all the knobs came off within one month. Im currently on my third set of knobs and they now have no writing on them at all. Therefore if anyone else uses the range they have no idea what they are doing. Also, unless you lock the unit, if you lean over it to get something out of a cabinet, you can easily turn it on with your body without knowing it. Overall, this is a dangerous unit to own.

On 2/20/06, I purchased a KitchenAid Dual Fuel Range, model #KGRA806. Its sad to say that it has been one of the worst appliances I have ever bought. I have had the range repaired twice (the thermal disc among other things). Last week, it died again and rather than throw good money, we decided to replace the range. I thought I was buying a high end quality appliance, but sad to say the quality control on the Kitchen Aid appliances has really hit a new low. In the interim my KitchenAid stand mixer has broken again. Considering the cost of repair, I probably will replace that also! I thought I was buying the Cadillac of appliance with KitchenAid but found out differently!

We purchased our KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2015. This model has 2 French doors and a bottom freezer. We woke up to a wet floor this morning, with everything thawing in the freezer. We called KitchenAid and were told about their Goodwill Repair that covers appliances purchased between 12 and 18 months ago for a service charge of $94.95. Great we thought. Then were told they cant get anyone to our house for 5 days. Useless. We had the same problem 6 months ago, but assumed we had left the freezer door open. Not the case. I definitely would not recommend KitchenAid refrigerators to anyone, considering the issues weve had with the product itself, and the customer service.

Our KitchenAid Microwave #KHMS155LSS-4 (manufactured May 2006) has been beeping randomly and flashing the Lock key or F2. Nothing short of disconnecting will stop the beeping. Even after disconnecting the unit, I will power it back up & the Lock key or F2 will appear again & the microwave will not work at all. The beeping will continue for minutes on end. This product is dangerous and after having read the same complaints on Consumer Affairs website, its a major wonder why it has not been recalled as some consumers have stated that the microwave will suddenly turn on. I contacted Kitchen Aid & had a live chat with a rep who said, Based on the issues that youre describing, there are no recalls for the problem with this model and serial combination. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. We can only suggest for an accurate diagnosis and satisfactory addressing of any malfunctioning component that may be contributing to your concern that you contact a local factory certified care provider for further assistance. Would you like some referrals?. This is very disappointing to hear, Kitchen Aid is not doing anything about the issue.
