I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (side-by-side with Ice Maker) from Lowes that was recommended by our builder for our dream house! I was so excited that I was going to have KitchenAid appliances, thinking that I would have something that was really going to last and be beautiful at the same time. Ha! In less than 5 months after we bought it, it was coated with ice in the freezer bottom and leaking water all over the floor. The repairman came out and said that a lot of times they are shipped with gunk in the lines. Stupid us, we actually believed him and thought all was going to be fine now. Now, less than 8 months later, it has been leaking water all over my kitchen floor again and it took us a while to get someone out. We are now told on a refrigerator that is not even 3 years old, that it has a defect, was made that way and that KitchenAid knows it and doesnt have a fix for it. Something to do with a valve that is too small and the heater and the line. He would defrost it for us for a charge of $220.00. Plus he informed us that this refrigerator that I (not a we in this case) paid $2,000 for will only last at most about 8 years and that the next thing to go out will be the compressor at a cost of $800.00 or more to replace, not including the service call. So I have this beautiful to look at refrigerator sitting in my kitchen that has the bottom drawer open, it is turned off at the breaker... Oh yes, that is what he recommended and we are hoping that after the past 24 hours, there is no more water in the lines that will freeze up immediately and the leaking will begin again, only sooner. I refuse to be taken advantage of on this. I think a BIG Class Action Lawsuit is in order. I have never thought of suing someone before, but now, I am not so sure.

I have been disappointed in my refrigerator from day one. Temperature is inconsistent throughout: items freeze and also, just simple design features, like being able to open a vegetable bin when only one door was open, but now taking the cake is my ice and water on the door only functions intermittently and service guys said needs a new board. It’s a $250 part, ok. Frig is 10 years old, I’m ok with that. WELL THEY DONT MAKE PART any longer and there is no work around! KitchenAid customer service’s best response was to send me to a discount supplier of new refrigerators. I’m beyond frustrated. They blame it on supplier, but we all know if KA cared enough for their consumers, it would be provided. This was an expensive refrigerator and I don’t want a new one!

I purchased a Kitchen Aid refrigerator (Superba) and it barely lasted nine years. I was told the quality was so great and it was the top of the line Whirlpool product, yeah right! These products seem to be made to last only about ten years and that’s it, but they still want you to buy American. My next refrigerator will be a Samsung; I just purchased it from Sears and I am already reading it’s a piece of junk, oh well!

Our KitchenAid dishwasher broke down after eight months. They replaced the water pump, which took three weeks. Two months later it broke down again. They replace a circuit board and water pump again, but still did not work. They again replaced the third water pump with no luck. The technician thinks it may be a wiring harness so now we are still without a dishwasher and are waiting for that part. By now I am asking for a new dishwasher from KitchenAid but they insist that my warranty only covers parts replacement and will continue to replace parts until they deem it necessary to replace. Dealing with customer service has been a very unpleasant experience. I have vowed that I will never buy another KitchenAid or Whirlpool or Frigidaire appliances again. We are now looking at replacing the dishwasher at our own cost.

I purchased a new KitchenAid Superba EQ Series 24 dishwasher model KUDE40FX
I purchased a new KitchenAid Superba EQ Series 24 dishwasher model KUDE40FXBL4 from Sears.com on November 21, 2011. The appliance was delivered and installed on December 5, 2011. In May of 2012, the dishwasher stopped mid-cycle and would not drain the water from the tub. The control panel was totally non-functional. On May 18, 2012, a factory authorized repairman from A&E Factory Service attempted to repair the dishwasher by replacing a bi-metal fuse. The dishwasher functioned until June when the same repairman returned on June 1, 2012 because the dishwasher had again stopped mid-cycle, would not drain water and the control panel was non-functioning. At this time, the repairman installed a controller and fuse. I told the repairman I was very concerned that the dishwasher had to be repaired twice within a two-week timeframe. I also mentioned the fact that the dishwasher possibly could be defective and that I did not want an appliance that needs constant servicing. The repairman assured me that KitchenAid would replace the dishwasher if it continued to break down.Yesterday, December 6, 2012, one year and one day after the initial installation of the dishwasher, the dishwasher again shut down mid-cycle. I spent over an hour on the telephone attempting to get a satisfactory resolution from KitchenAid and/or Sears. I was not satisfied with anything KitchenAid or Sears offered. Their basic answer was that I should have the appliance repaired and buy an extended warranty. My answer to that is why throw good money after bad? All that accomplishes is to make the purchase price of a defective product cost even more. If after two service calls during the first six months of use KitchenAid factory service has not been able to accomplish a complete and total repair of the dishwasher so that it does not breakdown every six months, then purchasing an extended warranty will not fix the defective product.I was a loyal customer of KitchenAid products prior to this bad experience. I had a wonderful KitchenAid dishwasher prior to purchasing this defective model, but the wire baskets needed replacing and were so expensive. I thought it wiser to invest in a new dishwasher than to put new baskets in a 10-year old dishwasher. I now realize what a foolish decision that was. That dishwasher is still functioning perfectly in someone elses home while I am facing the possibility of dealing with a defective appliance that will require servicing every six months or replacing. Either way, I lose. It is my educated opinion that KitchenAid should replace the defective appliance and recall that model. To the reasoning mind, the thought occurs that these breakdowns are a built in ploy to sell extended warranties and thus keep the parts and service departments also in business. While this practice of planned breakdowns may appear to be a revenue generator equal to or greater than planned obsolescence, it may prove detrimental in the long run. As a particular and wise consumer, I will find another manufacturer of a longer durability and better quality product or just give up the dishwasher all together. The consumer does have other options. At any rate, I refuse to be forced into paying additional funds for a dishwasher that is not functioning up to the original expectation of the purchase price of $1,377.01, which is an overcharge for a product that only works for six months at a time.

The wheel assembly broke for the top rack of our KUDS30IXSS6. We called to order new parts, and we have been waiting 3 weeks--using our dishwasher without the top rack. I called today, and they said they couldnt ship because they hadnt received enough parts. They had orders for 21,000 parts, but didnt receive that many. Clearly, this is a serious issue and a defective product. So much money on this stainless steel dishwasher, down the drain. What can the consumer do??!

A few days after my dishwasher was installed my contractor noticed that vent [left side facing dishwasher KUDS35FXSS] was wetting inside door of my new cabinet. I contacted Kitchen-Aid. They said I had to contact where I bought it. I called the appliance store & told salesman (Dominic) whats happening. He said hed look into it. After a few days I went to store & asked him what was going on. He said his K-A tech said its probably a bad intake vent. Dominic told me to call the number he gave me to get a serviceman out & just keep the door of my cabinet open when I use DW until tech comes and fixes it. I went home & contacted the service dept. Tech came out. Tech said he felt moist heat coming out from side vent by cabinet. Tech called K-A Tech who told him venting system must be bad for that vent is supposed to takes in air. Tech said he had to order a new vent system & he would be back to install it. Two days before tech came back I opened door of DW & a screw fell on the floor. When tech came to put in new vent system I asked him about screw & he didnt seem surprised. He said it probably came from the insulation. Is that normal? He put new vent system in & left. I put on the dishwasher & about an hour later opened my cabinet & felt the inside of it. It was wet. I called tech again. He came out for the third time. He contacted a Kitchen-Aid Tech who told him to do a diagnostic check. Result is he has to put in a new Control board and dispenser. Now the front light indicator doesnt work. The dishwasher was installed a month and a 1/2 ago and I can only use it with cabinet door open because it is warping my new cabinet and somethings wrong with the dispensers. When youre looking for a dishwasher nothing in the details tells you where vents are. Who would put the vents of a built in dishwasher on side when there is wood cabinets on each side. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that when used is destroying my cabinet and doesnt take the jet-dry and I have no idea what cycle because light doesnt work. I didnt pay to have a dishwasher re-built I paid for a new working dishwasher. What upsets me also is the appliance store that I purchased it from acts like its not their problem, its the companys. H & H Appliance center is the one who sold it to me, not K-A. I bought a new dishwasher not one that has to be re-built. Please help I dont know what to do. I dont want others to go through something like this. I bought 3 other appliances from him ($4500.00 total) same day I bought dishwasher. I guess I was foolish to think hed make things right. I feel H & H Appliance Center, 909 Rt.130 North, East Windsor,NJ 08520 should hold some of the responsibility. Shouldnt you be able to go back to the person you bought from and expect them to make good? Please help me. This will never end until the warranty is up and they dont have to do anything.

I purchased a Kitchenaid microwave model KMCC5015GSS for nearly $700.00 just over two years ago. It now needs a magnetron but according to my own research and the repair technician, this part is not available. Further, trying to contact Kitchenaid about this problem is an absolute torture. I have on three occasions spent over 30 minutes on hold. I still have hope that someone will eventually be able to help me with this repair but my experience so far is extremely bad or non-existent. Does Kitchenaid expect me to throw this microwave out? If so, I will never be purchasing another Whirlpool or Kitchenaid product again.

I got this new KitchenAid stove 1500 and was so happy with the way it looks, but... What a horrible product this company made! First, I had to exchange this stove, because of the computer problems it had (exchanged it two times). Unfortunately it was over 30 days so I could not return it. Second, it takes over 30 minutes to preheat the oven! Third, after a month of using it two light bulbs went off!! At the same time!!!Last, but not least their service team checked and stated that the temperature in the oven is right, but to roast or bake it takes twice as long! Not to mention that the glass top is made from some horrible material and it is very difficult to clean! And one area of glass is already chipped off!! I bought it in June 2016 four month ago! Dont buy Kitchenaid products!!!

I bought my KitchenAid Dishwasher (Model KUDK03CTBL) on 9/5/09. Three months later, the memory board went bad and parts and labor were covered under warranty. Now less than two years later, the memory board is bad again. Unfortunately, KitchenAid will only cover the part, not the labor, which we all know is the most expensive part. When my repairman called for a replacement part, he was told it was a very popular item because apparently, the memory board needs replacement often. Warning: Do not buy this dishwasher.

The dishwasher has been repaired two times and is leaking again. I hate this dishwasher and almost from day one. I only had it a short time and it started to leak all over my wood floors. We had it fixed and again. We had to pay to repair the leak a second time and again water on my wood floors. Today, I came upstairs to find water all over the floors again! Plus, it hasnt really cleaned the dishes well in a long time. I am going out today and shop for a new dishwasher and will not even consider KitchenAid. And I had a KitchenAid stove for a very short time and had to go out and buy a GE because at Thanksgiving, the oven stopped working. Right now, I have a KA refrigerator and cannot wait to get rid of it. I will never buy anything KitchenAid. Ill try Bosch or stick with GE!

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our new home in late 2011. Two years ago I had to replace the refrigerator after losing the compressor. It was going to be almost $900 to replace the compressor or $1300 to buy a new refrigerator, so we bought a new fridge, but NOT a KitchenAid. Also in 2017 two of the five burner knobs seized up and could not be turned on. Another service visit and about $500 later these were fixed. Now this week I’ve had to call for service AGAIN because two other burner knobs have seized up and cannot be turned on. This will cost me another $400-500 again to get it serviced. I’m seriously thinking about replacing it with an electric range. It takes forever for the oven to preheat and also takes forever for water to start boiling. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KITCHENAID PRODUCT!! They used to be great but nothing but problems now.

Our story is similar to everyone else. Our first fridge broke three days after it was installed & had to be replaced. A month ago, something else broke. We finally got parts after three weeks for a broken filter system which caused our fridge to fill the shelves & drawers with water. After two weeks of waiting, the authorized service company flat out lied about not ordering parts after I had contacted corporate to have them expedited. (If you buy the warranty, do not expect any type of respect or sense of urgency. The warranty company does not care & does not hold authorized agents accountable.) Long story short, the fridge was fixed today, but still no icemaker, only water & now the freezer has stopped working & a loud fan noise can be heard through the first floor. Called warranty repair, they said they could come out Nov 27th... Buyer beware. #kitchenaide.

We have had our KitchenAid KGRS505X oven for less than 3 years and it has broken down twice. First time only after a month which was under warranty. The 2nd was a couple weeks shy of three years. It is costing us $300 for a one year service warranty so we can get it repaired. Reasonable expectation for an oven of this cost would be 10 years of trouble-free service. Our compressor is broken on our refrigerator. The tech who came to repair it said the problem is that its a faulty compressor. This happens frequently, he said, and the company that made the faulty compressors that used to go into KitchenAid refrigerators went out of business a few years ago. One would think that if KitchenAid was using a part that it knew to be faulty it could at least give a discount on parts and/or labor when the part fails. Considering the cost of refrigerators today, its very disappointing that KitchenAid would allow customers to be charged an arm and a leg to replace a sub-par part.

We purchased this dishwasher in December 2013. We immediately noticed that the dishes on the top rack and in the utensil tray were coming out dirty, in some cases dirtier than when they went in. In particular, the coffee cups had a baked on residue of detritus that meant we needed to wash them by hand after soaking for a while. We contacted the vendor, Corbeil Electric, who referred us to Whirlpool to get the dishwasher repaired. We had a repair done in January 2014, which did not fix the problem although it was better. We had another repair done in about March, and we waited for a new piece for more than a month. The problem recurred in the summer, and we had it repaired again (same piece replaced) in September. 1 week later, the same problem is still happening. If someone had mentioned in the reviews that the dishwasher did not get the dishes clean, we would not have purchased it. The service from Whirlpool is appallingly bad, with wait times up to 30 minutes to get through to the service line and they apologize profusely each time but say they cannot do anything about our dud dishwasher. The dishwasher is very quiet, but the dishes are dirty when they come out.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

Purchased a Kitchen Aid side-by-side refrigerator as part of a new home purchase. Everything was fine for the first year but then the lights in the refrigerator and freezer began going out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a service repair. Two lights were replaced (at no cost to me) and about 3 months later, the same issue came up again; no lights. Again I called Kitchen Aid and they sent out the same service repair company and they again replaced two lights (at no cost to me). Now, 4 months have passed and the lights are out again in both the refrigerator and freezer.I called Kitchen Aid a third time and they said the refrigerator was out of warranty and I was on my own even though they didnt fix the problem when it was under warranty. I believe the LED light panel needs to be replaced costing several hundred dollars. Kitchen Aid quality is average at best and I would recommend not purchasing their product. My refrigerator retails for about $10,000, model KBSD608ESS, so I would expect much better quality.

I want to start by saying that the only KitchenAid appliance I have in my kitchen is a fridge. Model #KBLS19KTMS1 S/N K21016987. If you are in the market for a fridge, dont buy this one. I purchased it from a company called Trail Appliances. It made a loud noise from day one. They attempted to fix it, it started again, too loud to sleep. They came again and when they left it started again. I asked them to take it away. I did not want a KitchenAid. They would not do that. They did an in-apartment surgery on it that took two hours and replaced the generator. The noise stopped. It is still loud but not screeching loud. But now the bottom drawer freezer just turns off. It has ruined food a number of times. Ice cream...forget it. Ice cubes, meat..defrosts to the point where it either has to be thrown out or cooked immediately.I hate this appliance. I tell everyone I know not to buy KitchenAid. I have a Miele dishwasher, an LG gas convection stove and a Breville convection counter oven. They all work. KitchenAid sucks. It is a total disappointment and was from day one. Today it ruined another load in the freezer. I will be getting rid of this appliance because it continues to cost me money. Dont let it cost you too.

My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KDFE304SS0 dishwasher back into place. Problem was traced to the right hand upper rack trucks bearing retainer failing, releasing multiple bits of plastic and several small stainless bearings into the interior of the dishwasher. Closer inspection indicates that the manufacturer chose to use a nylon (PA6?) carrier which is degraded by moisture and heat eventually causing the carrier to break down. Why they chose that material when so much of the other components are POM which would have held up is beyond me. This will be a problem for others for sure if they use the heated dry. An additional worry is that not all bearings could not be recovered so there may be additional issues due to small metal bits traveling through the rest of the system. The unit was purchased from Sears July 17, 2015 so entirely too soon for such a failure. Clearly a poor choice in materials.

Bought a Double Over, Dishwasher, and 42 Built In Refrigerator, all KitchenAid to match replacing 10+ year old GE Monogram appliances. Thought I did the research required to make the best educated purchase on the market, decided on these as our local dealer had the best deal on all three. After a week, the refrigerator began to frost over in the upper area of the freezer section, all other areas seemed to work as described with no issues. We contacted KitchenAid Warranty for help. They sent out a warranty repair service company and after three attempts with help from their KitchenAid Tech Support Center, they could not repair the problem! Our problems continues and during the final repair call the technician, stated that the Tech support people dont have a clue and that theyve never seen this problem before. We were told by KitchenAid Warranty Call Center that the warranty does not include replacement but is only good for repair service. We want the unit replaced, we didnt buy cheap. We bought what we thought was the best on the marker at the time based on what research we were able to do. The refrigerator cost $9K, overall we spent $12K for all three appliances and now realize this was a huge mistake. The local dealer, Pacific Sales has told us we would be getting a replacement unit soon, nothing yet but we have faith as they seemed to know how to handle bad products sold. We also asked to talk to a KitchenAid representative wanting to express our concerns to a human being. We were told by the Warranty KitchenAid call center that no one was available, that they were the only people we could talk to! This is the most frustrating event weve purchased as 10+ years ago we bought similar appliances from GE for a house we built in CO. We had no issues with what we purchased than compared to this experience. We now have a nightmare going on! If we did this current purchase all over again, we would have never bought KitchenAid, probably stick with GE or Sub Zero or for the money LG or Samsung! Why buy KitchenAid, they have no warranty with their built in products.

We have owned the KERS306BSS range since March of 2013. On balance, we like the design of the range and its features (except the AquaLift cleaning feature which, like others have reported, does not clean well). During this time, we have had five instances of a repetitive problem of the range unexpectedly turning itself completely off. This has happened both while using the range and while it is not in use. KitchenAid FAQ advises customers to turn the power off, wait a minute, and turn the power back on in an effort to reboot the system. After doing this, however, only one of the features (oven or surface units) starts working again. The range has been serviced after each of these instances and works correctly for another few weeks, or maybe a month, and the problem repeats.KitchenAid initially would not refund our money and only offered a replacement unit. When we did not receive delivery confirmation, we attempted to follow up. We were told delivery had been delayed to February. Then, we were told replacement units were not available and given instructions on how to fax in an application for a refund. We told we would receive a confirmation. We did not. We will post our additional progress at resolving this complaint.Overall, our experience with KitchenAid Customer Service personnel has been very poor. Each time you call you get a different person who has a hard time locating your previous calls. The first time we called the Product Exchange Group we were assigned a contact person who said we should call her for any questions. Unfortunately, we could never reach her again and other customer personnel did not seem to know her.

We purchased this KitchenAid Household Ref. from Lowes. 4 1/2 months of owning it there started a loud clicking noise from the back of the unit, ice built up in the veggie drawer that it couldnt shut, and water from the left side of the ref. dripping down into the two shelving parts. Once the door is open along the way the water runs out onto my floor. On the way to close MORE water runs onto the floor and then down the front of the freezer that is on the bottom. Since the issue we have had KitchenAids preferred service AAA out of Howell MI come out for 3 different service calls. Each time I am told, The problem is fixed and you will have no more water leaking. I have white water stains in my trays and the stain on the front of the ref. due to the leaks and sitting water. After calling again today because it is STILL leaking I spoke with Melinda (Customer Service) with all she could offer me was at first a service call at my cost then returned with a no cost, I spoke to Tim (Supervisor for KitchenAid Tennessee office) who explained there was not a thing anyone could to but another service call. Who is going to pay for ANOTHER day off of work? This will be the 4th time I have had to take a day off of work for repairs to this refrigerator. A consumer should NOT have to clean up a water mess every time the unit is opened and the water streak down the front is not appealing. This is obviously an issue with the unit. I asked for the unit to be exchanged with the SAME unit and I was told that You would be eligible for a replacement at a discounted price. Are you serious? I already paid the full price for this unit.Something has to be done to not allow consumers to be buying nonworking items and costing more than the unit itself. I have bought many KitchenAid items and I will never buy again since this incident. The do not stand by the product but keep sending service people who either cant fix the problem or the problem is simply NOT fixable.

Three years ago my husband and I purchased the newest top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher V103111213, energy star. It does not clean dishes. If I put even one dish in the wrong place, several dishes above do not get washed. Take a top load with two small plates in the bottom. Coffee mugs on the top dont get cleaned. This is a disappointment. KitchenAid used to be the best. This is the worst dishwasher I have owned. Even our bottom of the line, Frigidaire did a much better job.

My KitchenAid oven sucks! This is now the 3rd time I have a problem with the self-cleaning upgrade in my oven. The thermostat fails with the heat of self-cleaning. This time, however, the main keypad is fried. Almost $500 just for the part, not counting labor and install. Thanks, KitchenAid, for delivering a product that is only successful in earning you more money! I could not be any more disappointed in their complete lack of responsibility in standing behind a product for which they make so much money. Brand new two years ago, and I continue to have mounting expenses for an appliance that was touted as being wonderful.

Stainless Steel KitchenAid Dishwasher Complaint - I bought this high-end dishwasher for $1,600 in 2006, and it has broken several times - replacing internal panel, internal control unit, and exterior touch pad within warranty period in which I had to pay for labor and miscellaneous parts. It now has another broken internal panel, internal control unit, which is out of warranty now. The GE authorized repairman said I have a lemon and it’s not worth fixing. GE has offered to pay for a few parts but not labor. Or, I need to buy a new one with a slight discount. I feel this is unreasonable since I have had major problems with this dishwasher lemon within warranty.

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We have never experienced damage to our porcelain ovens from other manufacturers. Our VIP SUPERIOR PROTECTION PLAN also will not cover this situation. We would not recommend Kitchen Aid Ranges. We would appreciate a settlement.

I bought my side-by-side fridge at Sears as part of a suite of new KitchenA
I bought my side-by-side fridge at Sears as part of a suite of new KitchenAid appliances. I had the kitchen in my 100-year-old house completely remodeled last summer, and the new KitchenAid refrig, dishwasher and range hood were the centerpieces. The refrigerator just fit under a new custom-made wooden cabinet (designed around it) and beside a custom-made cabinet with granite countertop. Price for the refrig: $2, 266; price for the kitchen remodeling: @ $30,000. I started getting letters from KitchenAid right after buying the products about buying an extended warranty. I figured that $2,000 refrigerator was likely to work for a good long time. (Of course, this was a very naive view of present-day appliance quality.)The new refrigerator was installed by my contractor on Aug 15, 2012 and was a problem right from the start. The icemaker didnt work when we first plugged it in, and a service call from Sears was necessary to get it working initially. In early June 2013, both freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. By the time we realized the problem, the food in our freezer had thawed out, so we each ate three pork chops and a lot of melting ice cream and called Sears for a repairman. We couldnt schedule a repair appointment with Sears A&E Appliance Repair Service (another horror story) for a whole week, so we brought two camping coolers up to the kitchen, put the food we really needed to keep - milk, eggs, butter, etc. - in them and started making a daily trip to the store to buy $4 or so worth of ice.I took a day off from work to meet the A&E repairman. (A&E schedules their appointments in four-hour windows - 8:00 am to12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:00.) The repairman finally arrived, took the whole refrigerator apart and said it needed a new evaporator. He said the part would be delivered to our house by UPS in about a week. So we continued buying ice, emptying the coolers, and eating out a lot. The part finally came and we got calls from A&E asking us to call them and verify that the parts had been delivered. When I called, I was put on hold and then finally spoke with someone whose English was so heavily-accented I really couldnt understand her. After loudly repeating, The part is here! The part is here! over and over, I hung up, hoped the repairman would show up, and arranged for another half-day wait.A new repairman wed never seen came the second time, opened the parts box, and commented that the evaporator was all banged up. I took a look and it was obvious that a number of the flanges or fins or whatever were bent. He tried to bend them back into shape and said, Theyll be fine. It wont make any difference. I left then, but my husband was there with the repairman. When I returned a couple of hours later, my husband told me the repairman said the wrong parts had been delivered. He had ordered new parts and they would be delivered in about a week. We scheduled another repair visit. That was when we got sick from eating the food in our cooler. The whole situation was making me really angry and depressed, so I called Sears Customer Service (another nightmare) and the woman I spoke with recommended that I use dry ice in my coolers, which would have required that I drive across town to pick it up. Before the next repair visit, we were asked to make another verification call, which I made. Around 8:30 the night before the visit, A&E called and another English language-learner told me that the parts had not been delivered and the repairman wouldnt be coming. I had already arranged to miss work the next day and two boxes from UPS were sitting in my hall. I started calling anyone I could get in touch with to tell them to send the repairman, that the parts were there.I guess I convinced someone because the first repairman showed up the next afternoon at 1:00. He opened the boxes, said the essential parts were there and again, took the refrigerator apart. He installed the new evaporator, but said he couldnt get the pressure right. He spent a lot of time on his cell phone talking with another repairman who was advising him. Finally, he said, Ive done everything I can. It may cool off by tomorrow, but if it doesnt, call A&E and tell them to send Bob **, the person he had called for advice. The next morning, the refrigerator wasnt cool at all. I called A&E and asked that they send Bob out. I was told he was out sick but would come the next day. The next morning, they called back and said he was still sick. I called A&E back, got another ELL on the phone and asked to speak with his manager so I could understand the speaker. I was transferred to another number that rang for five full minutes. No one ever answered the phone. Since then, I have learned that no one ever answers that number. By this time, my entire life centered around the refrigerator. Sympathetic friends were inviting us over for dinner and showing up with casseroles. Of course, if we didnt eat the whole dish, we had to throw the rest away because we were afraid of the food in the cooler. After another few hours on the phone, I contacted someone at Sears who arranged to have a loaner refrigerator delivered to my house. Again, I arranged for a delivery. Now I had a new, broken KitchenAid refrigerator in my kitchen and a small, dented GE in my dining room. I moved my milk into the loaner and bought some ice trays.I continued my calling and got a secret number from someone at Sears that enabled me to speak with a Blue Ribbon service person at Sears (talk about oxymorons) who sounded like hed had a LOT of Xanax. The Sears employee who gave me the number said, Dont tell them where you got the number. Is this a number available only to movie stars and Columbian drug cartel bosses? After hearing a condensed version of the whole awful story, the Blue Ribbon man I spoke with said Sears would replace the refrigerator with one of equal or lesser value. I reminded him that the price had probably gone up over the past year and that I had bought the original fridge on sale. This seemed to throw him for a loop. He said he had to get some more information and hed call me back in a couple of days.I called the Blue Ribbon number again this morning and asked how my refrig had been rated by other owners because I wasnt sure I wanted another fridge just like the first one if it was going to be the same piece of junk I got last summer. (Product ratings and customer reviews werent available to me online because the appliance was a special order.) But the guy at the secret number had reviews. There were only five reviews and four had given the fridge a one--out of a possible five--points. The reviewers had reported problems that sounded like mine. I then called KitchenAid and they informed me that the only KitchenAid refrigerator that will fit into my custom-built kitchen is the same one-rated model that I now own. So much for the carefully planned kitchen with the matching appliances. If Im lucky, Sears will have something that will fit in the spot built for the other fridge.

We have owned a KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model KUDS35FXSS8 for 16 months. The wheels on the upper dish rack have already come off, rendering it unusable. This happened because the plastic tabs that hold the wheels in place have become brittle and cracked off in this short time. Kitchen Aids warranty states that the dish rack is warranted for 5 years. However, Kitchen Aid customer service tells us that the wheel assembly on the dish rack is not covered by this warranty. Wheel assembly W10350376 is poorly designed and quickly fails. I am disgusted with KitchenAid! We purchased a refrigerator and it delivered at the end of March, less than 90 days old. The refrigerator just stopped working and now they are telling us they have no one to service our refrigerator until July 9th. This is 3 weeks away. We are an hour and a half away from Denver. They need to send up someone from Denver or give us a working refrigerator. They want to call us back within 3-5 business days. This company has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Plus we have lost over $300.00 in food product which they take no responsibility for the loss.I am reporting them to Consumer Affairs. I encourage everyone not to purchase any KitchenAid product ever! They could care less about their customers. It needs to be made right! I will message this information to multiple websites and consumer groups. They keep saying information is not available to the customer when asked who is servicing us! They wont give out any phone numbers and say our service provider is on vacation until July 9th! They do not care about the customer!!! Do not ever purchase any KitchenAid product! This company is a farce!

I have not been disappointed with my all KitchenAid kitchen appliances for my oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.

I contacted KitchenAid Customer Experience and reported this matter and to see if they have come up with a fix or recall. There hasnt been any. From the very start it only cleans the dishes if you put them in clean. Salesmen said I could put dirty dishes in. Not unless you want them coming out dirty. Everything has to be thoroughly rinsed before they go in, the regular cycles takes hours to run. So disappointed. I had my first KitchenAid for 15 years and it was quick and cleaned like it should. Repair man said everyone is complaining about the same thing. He had to fix the runners on the upper shelf because they were plastic and cracked. We purchased a KitchenAid 48 KSSC48QT side-by-side (for custom wood panel inserts) from Factory Builder Store along with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, all KitchenAid. The ice maker on the refrigerator has been a joke from the beginning. The ice dispenser does not work, we have to open the freezer door in order to scoop ice out of the bin on the door. When we open the freezer door, ice always falls all over the place and the flap on the ice maker is covered with an ice sheet from some type of leakage. After reading everyones comments, I have come to the conclusion that KitchenAid will soon be a past American icon and I will need to just take it as a loss. What a shame. My kitchen is the heart of my home and was featured in our local newspaper and in MySanAntonio website. We entertain almost every weekend and I make sure all my guests and neighbors know that I dont have any ice from the freezer in my kitchen because KitchenAid makes a lousy product. Guests have naturally gone to the freezer door during a party to dispense ice and I just comment Oh sorry, it’s a KitchenAid. Don’t ever buy one! Please get the ice from my old freezer in the garage! (which for 10 years has worked perfectly). Some of these folks are CEOs, contractors and custom home builders so I make sure the word gets out. I guess I will just keep a supply of bagged ice till the whole ** thing gives out on us, which I expect will happen soon based on everyones feedback!

The thermal fuse has blown out several times over the last two years, and is costing money each time. KitchenAid could care less - they are raking in the money as exclusive supplier of the parts. We have other Whirlpool and KitchenAid products, and the process is always the same. Theres no help from the company, no cheap parts, and theres aggravation at a simple machine that is designed to break down. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. KFIV29PCMS00 - We got that fridge on January 2014 - so its 2 years and 4 months. The icemaker has never been performant - slow to make ice, but were not using it much so we didnt complained. About a year after we noticed iced was starting to build at the back of the top cabinet near the ice maker. We phone to KitchenAid and were told it was normal and to not worry about since the performance was the same. Yet 2 weeks ago we found all the ice was melting - cubes were soft and wet. We turned it off, but the next day we found the freezer was also melting, then all the refrigerator was not providing cold air at all. Called KitchenAid, the clerk is telling me nothing Ive said is under warranty. Then I told her Have you ever heard about Legal Warranty, and 30 secs later she came back and told me I will have nothing to pay.2 days later, the tech finally came in and said, the second evaporator had a leak so all the coolant leaked out and he had to replace it and also replace all the ice cube mechanism. A week later he comes back with all the parts to do the repair, but then as he opened the back cabinet he found it was filled with stains and black mold. All that comes from the water leaking from the ice maker, dripping inside the fridge and accumulating, then evaporating (from the anti-ice). So we were unaware of that water accumulating inside the cabinet (not accessible) and gradually forming mold (black mold and worst). Now my kitchen is full with refrigerator parts everywhere. The tech has gone as he doesnt want to work on the rotten refrigerator, and Im being ping pong at KitchenAid service and no one is telling me what to do and what will happened. The tech told me the cabinet cannot be replaced and cleaning all that mold is almost impossible. In other words he can only think about replacing the fridge altogether but KitchenAid is not responding. We paid high $$ (almost $3k) thinking we would be free of such problems, but were ending up with that situation after only 2 years. The previous fridge lasted 18 years and never had any issue before 17 years, and the one before that was second hand and lasted 20 years. Im pretty mad and discourage.

22.6 ft counter-depth model ksc23c8eyy02 - Weve had this fridge for over a year and after the third service call, should have sent it back as a lemon. We bought a Kitchen Aid because the one we were replacing is a 17-year-old Kitchen Aid SuperBa thats now in our garage, still working. Number of service calls in past year: 3, soon to be 4. We bought a Lowes extended warranty so I have only been dealing with Lowes contract service, not KitchenAid. I have no complaints about KitchenAid service, just the quality of their product.Pros: I gave it an extra star because its so pretty. Cool functionality, easy to keep clean. Stainless surface will hold magnets, too. Cons: Ice maker has only worked twice. Ice freezes into a large block since its on the door. We buy ice and pour it in, but the ice dispenser freezes up and does not dispense at all. Lowes contracted service technicians replaced the ice maker at 5 months after purchase and it worked for about a month before it stopped making ice again. I have not had time to call and take a day off work for yet another service call. Water dispenser doesnt work unless fridge temp is set above 40 F. The technician explained that the engineering is such that the water line is too close to the coils as it passes through the fridge and it freezes. So, the water line freezes and does not work unless you keep the fridge above 40F (and then the milk goes bad before the date during the summer months). The doors are not balanced or smooth in closing and the freezer door has been left a crack open several times because you have to push it to make sure its closed. They have been here to adjust the doors at least twice. I am so very disappointed in this fridge. I have many Kitchen Aid appliances and was always willing to pay extra for the quality, but I didnt get that this time.

Guess what? Within a week same problem. Repairman again. Pump faulty again. Another 2 weeks. Pump replaced. Within a week same problem. Contacted KitchenAid direct which is really Whirlpool. Awful customer service. Scheduled a replacement this week but failed to keep appointment. Got a few hours notice. Theyre giving me another new one. Have told them this is the last one. So I call back in a NOT SO NICE mood because I hate being taken for an idiot. They gave me some run around excuse but did agree to send me the replacement part. We purchased KitchenAid model # KDFE204EWH1, paid $145.00 to have it installed, bought extended warranty and it has never cleaned a dish. We had two technicians out who gave us hints to help, i.e. put more soap in, run your faucet until the water is so hot that you cant touch it because the first rinse in the machine is cold water, use Jet Dry. Ive been using dishwashers for a long time and have never needed technicians to come to the house and instruct me on how to use it. KitchenAid has officially chalked the problem up to owner misuse. This is highly insulting and ridiculous. We even paid our plumber to come and see if the problem could be caused by our plumbing - negative on that. I called the company and was told that if I try another dishwasher detergent, that it might help. Other customers have found it to be very helpful.Give me a break! The machine is a piece of garbage and has never, ever worked. $1,000. of our money has been thrown out the window and we have been treated poorly by this company to say the least. Save your money, do your research and buy something other than a KitchenAid/Whirlpool. We now have to clean our dishes by hand. Horrible machine, horrible company to deal with. They will not send anyone else out to look at the dishwasher unless we pay for it. They have done all they are going to do and dont care that the machine doesnt work. They are finished with us as we are with them.

As has been noted in other reviews, KitchenAid has issues with the ice makers not functioning correctly and prematurely breaking. Not even three years into owning the refrigerator, the ice maker has now completely burned up. Brought the issue to KitchenAid/Whirlpools attention and they just dodged questions about the issue being a known issue and inquiries if there have been other reports of the problem (which there obviously have been, as one can see clearly in the reviews). Instead, they tried to get us to contact the seller and ask them to cover the repair. $2400.00 for a refrigerator is not cheap... We wont be buying KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, or any other brand under the Whirlpool umbrella after this experience. (We have several KitchenAid appliances, as we used to think they were a good company.)

We bought a very nice looking French door refrigerator and only six days later, it stopped cooling the food. The thermometers we put in it registered 50 degrees! The store would not replace it. Theyll just send out a technician and they dont know when that will be. Frankly, I dont trust KitchenAid as far as I can throw a stick if after only 6 days, it is not working. What happens in 60 days or 6 months? This was a brand new unit in the box and not a floor model. At least the freezer works and the full length deli drawer is working. I have food I have to move to an old garage fridge. They wont take care of that.

In late 2007 we replaced every appliance in our beach home with KitchenAid appliances. As of 6/2014 every appliance has been replaced except the ice maker. This week our $4000 combo wall oven died and the KitchenAid authorized appliance repair suggested we replace it. We spent a chunk of money back then and have since replaced it all. My sister and an in-law have done the exact thing!! KitchenAid was considered top of the line. Today I consider it JUNK!!!! Oh by the way their consumer service line is perpetual hold. Sad that they allow the brand to go down the toilet.

In my quest to contact Whirlpool (US), with perseverance, creativity, luck and detective work I received a telephone call from Whirlpool (U.S.) shortly after my initial review. A Whirlpool Executive (Mr. Chastain) was apologetic and took control and personal responsibility of my problem. Mr. Chastain arranged for a technician to service my microwave to my satisfaction and provided me with a full refund for all Whirlpool service charges (parts and labour). While I am grateful to Mr. Chastain for resolving my problem, it would be helpful if Whirlpool included direct telephone #s (not a call center) and legit email addresses on their website for consumer SOS.

We purchased our dishwasher (as part of a full set as a matter of fact) 2 years ago. It’s quiet, but has stopped washing dishes. We only use the soap and dry aid recommended by the manufacturer, and the dishwasher itself is cleaner regularly. The soap dispenser opens, but unless the bottom rack is left half empty, Ten soap doesn’t come out of the dispenser, or comes out but doesn’t dissolve. This started about six months ago, as an occasional problem, but by now it happens more often than not. Based on this, as well as my experiences with the rest of my appliances, I would not recommend this brand.

After only a year and a half we started noticing ice buildup on the inside of the freezer and the refrigerator was not as cold. Made adjustments to the temp settings and still no difference. Called manufacturer and they pointed out that the warranty was expired but if we paid $129.00 to have a service technician check the refrigerator the part that might not be working could be covered or maybe not. A shot in the dark in other words. So I’m checking website troubleshooting tips and this is a common problem. If that’s the case why don’t they show some class and fix it!

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of
Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of 2011 by the previous owners of the home we purchased in March 2013. I started having problems in December 2014 with the dishwasher running about 10 minutes then stopping. Called Lowes who had sold the dishwasher. The previous owners had purchased a 4 year extended warranty, but Lowes wouldnt honor this because we werent the ones who bought the dishwasher. Just another rip off of getting out of honoring the warranty. Repairman came out and ran all the diagnostic codes. Came back and replaced the console. This didnt fix the problem. Called again. Still running intermittently. Sometimes completed cycle and sometimes not. He came and replaced the sensor. Meanwhile the rollers and glide holding the top rack started to break. As I see on this site, that seems to be a common problem. Called back to get repairman to come again and mentioned the rack problem and was told the company had a call back on the rack parts. So repairman came and replaced all the broken parts for the rack, ran codes again and said it might be the control. He got into the control and took off and reattached every wire and found no problems but said it might be the control. I ran the dishwasher again, and it quit after about an hour. Restarted it with no detergent in it, and it still didnt complete the cycle. Called back today and was told they could order the control, at a cost of $189. To date, I have spent $378.81 with another $200 part ordered and still have a dishwasher that doesnt work. The original dishwasher cost $773.19 so I will soon have an all redone dishwasher that may still not work. This is absolutely unforgivable. I have had about 3 dishwashers in 2 other houses in 40 years and NEVER had any of these kinds of problems. I was always led to believe Kitchen Aid was a top of the line dishwasher. This one is NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD and has almost cost its original purchase price! I want to see something done about this by the company. And I will NEVER, repeat NEVER purchase another Kitchen Aid product.

The dishwasher does work quite well. The problem is the racks are garbage. They fall apart easily and are very very costly to repair. All the little bits fall off constantly hit the element and melt and burn. The adjusters on the top rack are very poorly made and quickly become useless. The wheels are the first thing to go. I asked KitchenAid if I can just buy two new racks with all the bits attached. They said no! I would have to buy all the bits and pieces, and yes get the technician in to assemble the whole thing starting at 400.00!!! NIce really nice, so they have you anyway you turn. This will be the second time we have had to replace all the bits of on a 5 year old dishwasher, first time was around 400 bucks so 800 in total to Date. Thinking of cutting my losses and just buying another brand. I think environmentally this is a total shame to toss a good dishwasher out. Shame on KitchenAid. File # **

We purchased a dishwasher, microwave, oven and refrigerator from KitchenAid about a year ago and are currently having the refrigerator repaired for the 3rd time for the SAME issue! The fan in the refrigerator (KRFF707ESS01) doesnt work properly which allows ice to form in the back. This means that the drawers dont close anymore and the fan is very loud since it is hitting the ice. KitchenAid customer service has been absolutely useless. Its not enough to say - I will never use another Kitchen Aid appliance, or - Ill tell all my friends to never buy this product!!!!!! If you have purchased a Kitchen Aid dishwasher with its cheap plastic material, that when heated by the heating elements become weak and crumble apart, you need to know that this is very wrong and against the laws and rights of anyone who purchased this product. That means that it is your duty to call the Whirlpool complaints department and let them know that they have broken the law!!! And that you wont stand for it. I have called and asked to speak with the highest level (supervisor). She asked me for my full name, phone # and address. I asked her a few questions: 1) Where are the dishwasher manufactured (not assembled)? She did not know. 2) What is the plastic made of (knowing that she would not know) asked then can answer these question for me, she did not know. 3) Why are there so many Model #s for the same dishwasher? She said only the manufacturer can answer that question (and she has no idea who that is). I told her that on the Consumer Affairs website, there are 548 complaints on the same or similar issues that I am having with my 1 & half yr old dishwasher. I explained to her that when the plastic gets hot, it weakens and parts start to break off. I was told that they have not had any complaints. I gave her the website and asked her what she was going to do about it. She said she would record the information then pass it on to her supervisor (who I had already spoken with and was told that there was nothing she could to for me). I said that I would like her to email me a copy of that report. She explained that that was not possible. I asked her for her name. She replied - Kathy. I asked her for her last name and she refused. I asked for a phone number where she could be reached and she refused and said it was against company policy. I replied by saying - Kathy, did you ask me for my last name, address and phone # when I called? (yes). I finished the conversation by saying - Kathy, you get to hide behind your comfy, corporate desk protected... while the rest of us get to buy your plastic crap and have no way of getting any compensation. Thank You Kathy!!! I am now in the process of taking Whirlpool to court. I have all the proof I need to prove that Whirlpool is negligent. Im not doing this to have my dishwasher repaired for free parts included (which the company Corbeil where I purchased the dishwasher has agreed to do). I am doing this because it is the right thing to do and I wish more people would do the same...

Bought Kitchen Aid mod-kuds35fxssi dishwasher. The control board failed 10 months after bought along with the top rack wheels and the jet spot dispenser leaked. Good thing I bought it from a local appliance store. They are authorized repair for what they sell, very good to deal with. Fixed the 3 issues .100 days later the control board failed again its only covered 90days after a repair so we called Kitchen Aid. They wouldnt do anything so we bought service plan. Meantime the top rack wheels broke. 90 days after bought service plan, we got control board repaired. The rack not covered we paid for rack repair. Now about 16 months after buying the dishwasher 4th set of rack wheels broke. We called Kitchen Aid, argued for some help. A free replacement part only was offered, we accepted. I installed it. Now the bottom wheel on right of the bottom rack falls off. Not what you expect from a Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

2 months past a 2 year warranty and my back burner knob is stuck in locked position. When contacting customer service they had the audacity to tell me that there has been no reports of this type of thing ever happening, and if its not a burner problem the service repair and parts to fix the problem that shouldnt be happening in the first place is at my expense. Only the burner and control panel is covered for 5 years. The odd part about this is, this burner is barely ever used and has the least amount of wear and tear. This is clearly a manufacturing flaw and I made sure that the customer service representative knew that many people are having the same problem and is reporting it online and I fail to believe their claim that this has not been reported to them ever!!! Just because they refuse to document it doesnt change the fact that it is a known issue. I have not had the unfortunate experience of the glass breaking as others reported as of yet. But now that I know about it, I feel sick to my stomach. This was supposed to be my dream stove and really thought I was getting that stove with a KitchenAid product. As far as customer service, they sucked and lied to me about this issue and refused to acknowledge that the problem even exists. I think I will turn to Canada companies for my next dream stove who still care about product quality in the future. Not looking forward to all the upcoming difficulties as my stove succumbs to all the reported poor manufacturing design flaws. I feel sad and duped into buying a Whirlpool product that I hated from past ownership due to poor quality control and design flaws. Then finding out, Whirlpool is using the KitchenAid reputation of the past to sell inferior products that they know full well, will never live up to the superior products of KitchenAid.

I installed a new Kitchen Aid stove in May, 2010. The ovens preheat and self-cleaning features have not been working correctly since I first used the self-cleaning for the first time. I am 85 years old and gave up a perfectly good older GE stove because I could no longer reach the controls on the rear panel and bought this new Kitchen Aid because it has the controls conveniently on the front panel. It was a very bad decision. This is a very expensive junk. If you are considering buying a Kitchen Aid stove, dont do it. I am very unhappy with mine. I recommend you find a good used American-made made product and have it reconditioned by a qualified appliance repair person. I cannot afford this kind of ** product. I purchased this fridge in early 2013. The ice bin latch has not worked since last summer. The bin does not stay latched and come forward the next time the draw is opened. When I called Kitchen Aid, expecting to speak with a customer service tech about the problem, the only option they offered was to forward me to an independent parts distributor. I did not want to purchase a new ice bin or schedule a costly service call if there was something I could do with the help of an over the phone technician. The distributor informed me that Kitchen Aid does not offer over the phone support and my only option was to call for a service technician to come to the house. Is it true there is no customer service support? That is a huge disappointment. After paying thousands of dollars for these appliances the customer is on their own. Also the quality of the stainless steel is poor. I find it difficult to clean and it dents very easily. I had another band stainless steel fridge for fifteen years, when my kids were small and crashing into everything, and it never dented. Now there are only adults in the household and it already has three dents. It is extremely upsetting to have a dented appliance in my brand new kitchen. I was planning to purchase all Kitchen Aid appliances in my new kitchen, but fortunately decided to go with a Bosch dishwasher and a Sharp microwave, which are of much better quality. I will not recommend or purchase another Kitchen Aid appliance.

On 2/4/12, I purchased a Kitchen Aid double oven microwave unit nearly three years ago, when doing a kitchen remodel. All the appliances are Kitchen Aid, thinking we were purchasing a good, reliable brand name. Yesterday, I placed the oven in the self cleaning mode. After about 2 and a half hours, the inner glass panel on the oven door exploded, sending hot, shattered glass onto the floor. The intensity of the heat cracked the new cabinet along the top of the oven. I called the service center, and they indicated there have been no recalls on this problem. I am horrified to think that if my grandchildren were present, they could have been injured. After reading other complaints on this website, I think Kitchen Aid needs to do a recall on this unit. By the way, they did not offer to replace the glass. They said the glass was covered, but not the two service calls to replace it, and the glass can only be ordered by a service technician.

Model KUDS301XBL - This dishwasher was purchased in May 2011 at a total cost of almost $1,000. Since having it installed, it has required service and the motor has been replaced twice - in 2012 and again in 2013. The wheels and rollers have repeatedly broken off. Now, after less than four years, it has failed again and the motor will need to be replaced for the third time. Each time services required, it is a minimum of one week - and typically 2 to 3 weeks - that our family of six is without the use of a dishwasher. In addition to its lack of reliability, this high-end dishwasher has never adequately done a good job of washing dishes. Even the service technician has said, I dont care what the salesperson told you, if you want your dishes to be clean, you will have to pre-wash them. Perhaps we just got a lemon, but the manufacturer has done nothing to correct our situation.

We purchased a new five door KitchenAid refrigerator 16 months ago for over $3500. It stopped working two months ago. We found the local warranty service firm and they have been out here 5 times. They have replaced the compressor twice, and a specific valve once but have not been able to restore function to the unit. They came twice to take readings for KitchenAids tech department. Weve been 8 weeks without a refrigerator. The service people said they have done everything but the unit should be replaced. So far KitchenAid has not authorized a replacement. Sad state of affairs. I certainly wont buy another KitchenAid appliance.

On 11/18/2010, I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, 22 12552. This dishwasher has been a nightmare. I purchased extended warranty and thank God I did. We put it in and then it didnt get the dishes clean and wouldnt dry them and it was eating jet dry like it was going out of style. I had several service calls on this problem. Then they replaced it 30 days later. Now, this dishwasher is a piece of **. They have put in 3 different panels of the controls, that all I do is wait from 5 to 12 for them to show up plus I am without a dishwasher for a week till they can come out. Then I have to wait another week for the part to show up. They came out this last time on 7-23-2012 and they left and the problems started all over even though they put in a new panel. I have no idea what your company did to ruin a good dishwasher but this is a piece of **. Now, they tell me this is the fourth time today, 7-25-2012, so they will replace it. Well, I guess my question is, am I going to have the same problems that I had with the other 3 dishwashers they have given me? They are taking my time and all the work to put this in again and again and again. Your company should fix this problem you are having with this dishwasher. I always swore by Sears and Whirlpool and KitchenAid products but I tell you what, I will never do business with Sears and never buy a Whirlpool product either. I realize you dont care. I am only one person but thats really how I feel.

Bought the Kitchen Aid French Door Counter Depth (Model KBFS20EVMS9) from Lowes in Feb. 2012, and the 4 year extended warranty. It just started leaking on the floor, had the drain tube replaced. Leaking stopped but freezer is STILL forming ice inside. And I have no water feature or ice cube maker so I dont understand what the deal is. Maybe just a shoddy product? Another service call is scheduled. I get a feeling this isnt the last of it. I may end up hiring two strong guys to haul it down to Benton Harbor Michigan and dump on their front doorstep.

Our side by side (high end) refrigerator stopped working. We called out a reputable service company and after trouble shooting, he determined the main power board was the problem. He traced it down to a built in relay(?). It was a part that could not be replaced. He needed to send it into KitchenAid to be repaired or replaced. In the mean time, the service man found a used one. A couple of weeks later the power board was returned by KitchenAid. The replacement part was no longer available nor were they repairing them! The used power board has a glitch which doesnt show the temp of the fridge on the control panel. At least it is working. My repair man is trying to locate another power board for us as a back up. It has now been 2 months and he hasnt found another power board. You have got to be kidding me. How can KitchenAid get away with this?

Purchased KitchenAid undercounter KDTE204DSS at Best Buy 12/2014 - used 1-2 x weekly. Great machine: good drying, no spotting, relatively quiet & clean dishes! Bottom rack occasionally left track when pulling out by corner rather than center. Paid $700 at Best Buy [in package deal with other appliances] $20 kit & was told this model would last minimum 8-10 years so I didnt purchase $159.00 Geek Squad extended warranty.10/2018 [after 4 years light duty] started making grinding and whining noises. Called Best Buy and they referred me to KitchenAid, who then referred me to local authorized KitchenAid repair service. $125.00 just to come out and diagnose, but could be applied to repair if applicable. After tearing entire machine apart [literally removing from under counter, unscrewing panel & interior components, detaching control panel & parts all over my kitchen] service tech needed to make several calls to his company before finally announcing that it was the *computer* that was shot - which would cost $450.00 to replace. At this point, without any warranty on the rest of the machine - it didnt make sense to repair. KitchenAid helpline was polite but could do nothing to help me. Dilemma is Id prefer to move to Bosch, but most reviews say KitchenAid dries better and I do not want mildewy odor. Very disappointed with extremely poor US manufacturing in all appliances.

We bought our KitchenAid stove in November of 2005 (model # KGRA806PSS00. We have had to fix it twice. Now, I have been told the electronic panel board has went out again for the second time. The repair cost for the parts to fix it this time is $524.00. I called KitchenAid to complain and they basically said, Sorry, would you like us to set up a service call for you?” I was on the phone for almost an hour with a supervisor. It will do no good! I will not be fixing this stove again. It originally cost $2199.00 in 2005 and I will be not put in another computer board again. I have all KitchenAid appliances in my kitchen and I can tell you this: I will never bring another KitchenAid product into this house again. KitchenAid does not stand behind their name. What a shame for KitchenAid. I think I will look into maybe GE now. Remember, Whirlpool owns Kitchen Aid--so stay away from Whirlpool as well.

My brand new dishwasher leaked from the moment we got it. Kitchenaid took a long time to send not one, but two repair men out to check it out and we were told by BOTH that we should have the dishwasher replaced since the tub was damaged in addition to a marked front panel. Then it took them weeks to finally say they are replacing the parts and then they come to refurbish it and the tub they bring is damaged. I now have to wait an additional 12 business days to have them come back. This will make a total of 3 months without a dishwasher and I have a toddler. They are the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never ever buy a product from them and I will never recommend them to anyone.

Kitchen Aid Gas Stoves seem to have issues with self-clean cycle. Shutting down cycle, blank display and door locked until thermal fuse is replaced. Kitchen Aid service representative who replaced control board (twice!) suggested not to use cleaning cycle. I thought that is what was a part of what I paid for when purchasing this expensive gas stove.

We purchased 4 KitchenAid appliances for our kitchen and also a washer and dryer. 1 year later, the control panel went bad in the dishwasher so we called Whirlpool. They sent a repairman to service the dishwasher, upon his arrival he informed me the control panel was no good and this was a regular problem with this model and whirlpool is aware of this. He told us we would probably have to replace this yearly. Well 1 year later same problem again and we are getting stuck paying 180 dollars for labor on an appliance that is only 2 years old. Argued with Whirlpool and they said sorry its your problem.
