We have had our KitchenAid KGRS505X oven for less than 3 years and it has broken down twice. First time only after a month which was under warranty. The 2nd was a couple weeks shy of three years. It is costing us $300 for a one year service warranty so we can get it repaired. Reasonable expectation for an oven of this cost would be 10 years of trouble-free service. So, at this rate I will have purchased this appliance twice in the expected 15 years of service. I cant tell you how much I regret buying this piece of garbage.

We remodeled our kitchen 9 years ago. We put in all KitchenAid appliances. Dishwasher, microwave, gas range and fridge. I have never been more disappointed with a company in my life. This week after numerous service calls we replaced the dishwasher with a Maytag. Your dishwasher did not clean dishes from day one. We suffered for 9 years. The paint and I stress PAINT on the stainless steel microwave wore off the handle after a year. The range has needed the control panel replaced 4 times. The off button fails every 2 years. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times. The last time the tech told us we had the freezer set too cold. Can you imagine? A freezer, too cold? There were many other service issues that I will not mention because I consider them normal wear and tear. These totaled about $1000 over 9 years, which I think is acceptable. The cost for the unacceptable repairs is in excess of $3500.

We had our KitchenAid dishwasher serviced 2 times in 3 years of purchase model # kdte104ewh3. The motor went bad 2 years after we purchased it new for $690.00 and the repair was half the cost of a new one, $331.15 for a new motor/pump, Then the problem happened again a year later. Yikes. Honestly, the dishwasher does not clean as good as the one we had there before for 10 years, that one a Kenmore we never had a problem with.

KitchenAid 21.9 cu ft Refigerator - KBFS22EWMS. Two year old 22 ft french door fridge with bottom freezer is falling apart. Poor build quality, poor service. For over two months, the freezer portion has be experiencing a build up of ice. We defrosted (manually) and build up began again. Waited for over a month for service man to visit. Upon inspection, service noted two things: 1) thermal defrost coil was faulty and 2) fridge door seal needed to be replaced. Our fridge does not experience abnormal usage, two adults and two university students. Why does a door seal deteriorate after two years unless...... its poor quality or defective... but no warranty?? (I have a 20 year old back of fridge in the basement, no problems other than its almond in colour). Why does a coil not work other than its defective or poor quality..... No warranty??? (I have a 25 year old deep freeze that still works). In addition to the defective manufacture and poor quality of this fridge, neither KitchenAid / Whirlpool or the service company can identify the part (i.e part number) to order, replace and fix the fridge. How do you build a product and not know the parts that go into it? Poor or lack of quality control! In the last two years I purchased a fridge, dual fuel range and dishwasher; all were KitchenAid. All were billed as being the best Kitchenaid had. I have had major repairs now on all three appliances! I bought and paid extra for KitchenAid, their quality was in theory better than most, NOT in my experience. In our home KitchenAid stands for KitchenDisabled or Kitchen in need of first aid. Poor build quality and poorer product knowledge and documentation. Run do not walk away from Kitchenaid/Whirlpool. They have a 1 year warranty on parts; is this because they know that within 14 months you will need to be replaced and thereby earn extra revenue from their parts sale? Interesting strategy and sales plan, poor customer service and reputation. Built NOT to last.

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator made by Whirlpool 3 yrs ago when we remodeled our kitchen. Before it was even 2 yrs old we started having problems. In the last year we have had to have it repaired 4 times. Even the tech guy said they are a problem. I just wonder how you can sell a product that you know is a piece of crap. Buyer beware. Dont buy a Whirlpool product. I just wonder how many time do we have to go thru this before they make it right?

Weve repaired the plastic opening handle on our KitchenAid-Whirlpool dishwasher twice in 5 years. A $49 plastic part. It has cost us >$500 to repair this poorly designed opening system twice in a decade. We have used KitchenAid dishwashers for 4 decades. Never again. Warn your friends, KitchenAid-Whirlpool dishwashers are designed now to wear out quickly. They substitute plastic for metal parts. Engineered obsolescence.

I build new houses and new high end rentals. We have in the past used KitchenAid Refrigerators and dishwashers and stoves. I have 20 year old KitchenAid appliance in my own house. I purchased a new refrigerator 2 years ago for a new house I was building. It lasted less than 5 months before total failure. KitchenAid eventually replaced it after I spent 8 hours on the phone. This week a 15 month old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. The failure rate for Bosch appliances is about 1/2 the failure rate for KitchenAid. Customer Service for the new KitchenAid sucks at best. KitchenAid is now owned by Whirlpool and cannot care less about the old customers. If you want reliability and customer service buy Bosch or Miele. If KitchenAid cannot warranty their product for both part and labor for 2 years do not buy KitchenAid. The old KitchenAid company and its products and customer service is gone.

We have a KitchenAid Double Wall Oven purchased at Sears in 2001. Just now, fully out of the ten year warranty. Its model no. YKEBSDB3 and serial no. YK210XXXX.This unit has been nothing but trouble since we got it and we are at the point of replacing it. In Canada, this unit sells for over $3500.00. I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from Home Depot through what I am not getting to understand as special order from KitchenAid. What this means is that it cannot be returned even if you report an issue in the first two days after getting it. I spend over a 1000 dollars on this order which included an extended warranty. The installers came in, install the washer and told me it was working by showing me that the lights on the appliance were on. Unfortunately the appliance was not working. I loaded dishes in it later on in the day and 2 and a half hours later I opened the dishwasher and to my dismay the dishes were as dirty as I put them in.I went to Home Depot to report this issue hoping I will be given a brand new Dishwasher and the lemon that had been given to me would be taken out. To my utter dismay I was told they would have to send someone out to check it out. At that moment I thought that would happen immediately but no they had to call KitchenAid and they had to get their own service company. The company KitchenAid uses is called Flamingo and this company has really poor customer service. They called me. Told me they can only come out during the week before 6pm and I need to have the whole day blocked out. This outrageous time restriction with no weekend service makes no sense. This is especially relevant for those who have a job and commute that keeps them from being at home during the week before 6pm. With this kind of restriction if you buy a KitchenAid appliance that has an issue it mean you will not get service on an appliance unless you take a day off which is totally unacceptable. However I do not think the Flamingo representatives were being truthful about this restriction. I finally got them to come out on a Saturday to look at the nonworking dishwasher- but that took over 2 weeks. So I paid for a dishwasher for almost a month which I could not use. The guy who came out I must say was nice and it did not take him long to conclude that I had been sold a lemon. The dishwasher that was delivered to me had a bad pump so the dishwasher was not working. His conclusion was that it had to be repaired. I am still in shock as to what is going on here. Why should I have been sold a lemon and they have to fix the lemon versus replace the lemon. I tried to contact Home Depot but the customer service there was even worse. I got insulted on the phone by an appliance supervisor who was so condescending. I will not buy a KitchenAid appliance ever again. I have bought LG appliances and never had any problems. I am still without a working dishwasher, a debt on my credit card and waiting for Flamingo to get someone to come out on a Saturday to fix the lemon dishwasher KitchenAid sold to me via Home Depot special order.

KSSCA 42QMS03 built-in refrigerator-freezer - Builder Centex (now a Pulte division) installed this optional upgrade appliance in March 2007 for $7000. Now, appliance is not cooling enough in freezer and almost no cooling in refrigerator; has flashing indicator lights; and has intermittent low fan noise. Repair tech said KitchenAid does not carry replacement for defective Main Circuit Board because Japanese factory for the board was damaged by the tsunami during the large earthquake that destroyed nearby nuclear plant, so customers have to wait till 2020, per KitchenAid, for KA to have replacement circuit board again. That tsunami was in March 2011 -- more than 4 years ago; how long does it take to have another company make that circuit board? Or does KitchenAid not care about its obligations to its customers for prompt availability of replacement parts? In reading the other damning reviews on this website, I am getting a clearer picture of the poor accountability of this manufacturer. What I do not understand is that Whirlpool, a highly regarded brand in appliances, is apparently allowing their upscale KitchenAid brand to languish in poor management practices.

I have a Kitchen Aid double oven, which is 2 years old. During the self-cleaning cycle, the glass door exploded, and glass covered the kitchen floor, and was in all vents. Just hours earlier, my 2 year old grandson was playing on the floor in the kitchen. I immediately checked online, to see if anyone had experienced the same thing, and found that I was not the only one. I called Kitchen Aid to see if they would help me with the repair, since I felt it was a safety issue, and Kitchen Aid should stand behind their products. The customer service representative informed me the company felt this was not a safety issue, and that no one had complained about this before. Kitchen Aid is not being honest with the consumers, and should be held accountable. It has been two weeks, and I am still attempting to find someone qualified who can do the repair. Will it take someones child or grandchild, sustaining critical injury, to mandate Kitchen Aid to redesign their oven doors? Is there any redress for the consumer?

We purchased this fridge 7 years ago and it is built into our kitchen -- thus not easy to replace with an alternative. It stopped working one week before Christmas. An engineer said that it was the main circuit board that was faulty, We called KitchenAid (Whirlpool) and were told that it could not be repaired and they could not assist in replacing it. They claimed that the company who supplied these boards to them had been destroyed in the Japanese Tsunami and it was not possible to replace them. They actually said to us, You are on your own. How can any responsible manufacturer say such a thing!? Clearly they have no concept of who keeps them in business. They offered 25% off a new fridge (to replace would be $10,000) but would not put this in writing or tell us how we could access the discount. It was impossible to reason with them. In despair we turned to the internet and found 355 similar complaints (all negative) about the same fridge. However, we also found a guy in Florida who said he could repair the board for $120. We had nothing to lose so we sent it to him. He was brilliant, texted when it arrived, texted that he had tested and confirmed it was repairable, texted when he had repaired it, and then texted again to say it was on its way back. Brilliant, all within 24 hours! We fitted it on its return and hey presto, the fridge worked and has continued to do so. So why cant Whirlpool be as caring and offer this service, indeed even work with this gentleman? You can go onto eBay and find the board you need for sale at $1800 (supply & demand!) plus you may also find other similar people who offer to repair the board for around $120. We now have our fridge working again (and have not had to buy a new one and refit the kitchen). However we will NEVER buy a Whirlpool/KitchenAid product again. (They trade under more brand names than just these, so look carefully). Indeed having had a whole spate of other kitchen appliances also break down for various reasons, we have determined to NEVER buy a US-made brand again if we can avoid it. (Marvel are another one to avoid in our view). The only branded kitchen appliances we have that has never broken down is made by Miele and LG. Our kitchen engineer said that this Miele and other German brands (and Korean) are the models they are called out for least. On telling this tale to friends, 3 of them all said that they had the exact same problem with their Kitchen Aid refrigerator at about the same time. One had felt obliged to replace with the same product but 2 others said, Never again with KitchenAid, and purchased other manufacturers. It makes you wonder how any company can stay in business with this level of low quality products and poor customer service. I suppose if you have bought up most of the competition (at least in North America), you can feel that you control the market and thus dont need to care. Complacency is the beginning of most disasters!

We purchased four KitchenAid items for our kitchen to receive a $600 rebate. Our reseller showed us the KitchenAid screen where all items were available for deliver in less than 30 days. This was a condition of our purchase. That was 04/01/2021. They delivered our oven and microwave and dishwasher. They never delivered our refridge nor wine cooler. They now claim end of the year. Our sales rep indicates maybe even later since the manufacturer reps come and go and KitchenAid changes its mind on deliveries. I called them and asked if we could pay a little more and pick them up IN STOCK at Best Buy and still get our $600 rebate. They refused. They are making us wait for an unreliable delivery date. They misrepresented the purchase. I saw the manufactures computer screen that said they would deliver. DO NOT BUY from whirlpool or KitchenAid since they will rob from you and not give you any rebates. In addition, they will not live up to their delivery dates even on their own computer system.

We purchased a brand new home in November of 2012 and ever since day one of operating our KitchenAid oven Model # KEBS109BSS00, we have had this awful metal on metal rattling noise. After contacting KitchenAid warranty repair department, they have sent Three different companies out over 18 visits to repair the issue. We have been informed that there are only two moving parts to the oven and both parts have been replaced TWICE. Also, we have had new extra insulation kits and exterior panels replaced, tightened, loosened, and so on and so on... to no avail. The oven still makes the awful noise through all three operating cycles. Kitchen Aid has been horrible with helping us repair this oven. They claim that some of the visits will not count because the tech that came out for the repair did not log a claim attached with the serial number of the unit. So we basically wasted half a day and and still have a broken oven. I will NEVER buy a kitchen aid oven again, cheap product and terrible customer service. Even the technicians they send out are saying that there is nothing more that can be done and they need to replace the unit but to be prepared that Kitchen Aid will fight us on that but 18 visits at $144 a pop they have already spent more than the oven is worth.

We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

The unit is 2 years old. The Control panel was always hot. The repairman said that was normal. It was so hot that the cupboard Above the unit was being heated. Eventually the control panel blew. The entire unit had to be replaced. Next everything was burning. The repairman came & told us, You didnt calibrate the oven!!! They calibrated it and then told me that the setting will not hold. we will have to continually monitor the temperature in the oven.I baked two pans of oatmeal bars for my grandsons football team. One pan burned, the other did not. When I called about this I was told, You should have used the convection function. In other words it was my fault. I just threw out 4 loaves of German stollen because 4 were burned on the outside and uncooked on the inside. The remaining 2 loaves are fine. This oven will bankrupt us if we keep bringing in repair men. My question is this, Any suggestions for replacing this unit? Three years ago we began a major home renovation. The changes lead to us purchasing all new kitchen appliances. We bought all KitchenAid as we had great success with their product in the past. Our new dishwasher has been a horrible experience. Soon after purchasing the motherboard stopped working and was replaced without incident. That lasted a short time only this time we had a major water leak onto our new engineered hardwood floor. The service attendant came as scheduled only to find that he did not have the required parts. He also informed us there had been a recall on our unit. We rescheduled and it was repaired and the recalled parts were replaced.Recently the new motherboard started to malfunction again and we have water on the floor yet again. This time we discovered that it has been leaking for sometime and our new cupboards have been damaged. The leak was not visible because the unit is built in and installed as designed. We have taken several days off work to meet with the technicians but when the time off is factored in we could have purchased a couple of dishwashers. I am really not comfortable with the unit and am not sure what to do about it. The extended warranty expires in March 2015.

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! They told my service guy that they know they have a problem but my serial number does not apply. If I ran my company this way we would be broke with no customers. Buyers beware of KitchenAid.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freeze
I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freezer compartment for about $2,600 in July of 2013. By mid-2016, we began to experience problems with the refrigerator. There was water leaking onto the floor after water had filled the tray at the bottom of the refrigerator and had frozen. A certified KitchenAid repair person replaced the defective part. The repair person was very familiar with the problem as the company had replaced quite a number of these. KitchenAid supplied the part free of charge because of the frequency of this problem. There was a service charge of $125.00 and a labor charge of $89.00, bringing the total to $214.00. Within two months, we had another problem, this one with the ice maker. The KitchenAid recommended company sent its technician out again. This time the bill totaled $335-$125 service, $129 labor, $75 new ice maker, and $6.37 tax. We had given the service provider the exact make, model, and description of the problem. Again, they were very familiar with the problem, but sent a technician out who did not have the part on the truck! He is scheduled to return after the weekend. Frankly, after reading others reviews on this site, I have to agree that I would not buy a KitchenAid product again. Why should anybody be shelling out over $500 for parts and labor on a three year old, high end, appliance? Our last KitchenAid refrigerator, which we left at our former residence, was 17 years old and had never required service of any kind. KitchenAid is apparently not interested in providing a quality product, though were paying for one and, according to the reviews on this site, KitchenAid is not interested in providing good customer service. Im frustrated with this refrigerator, which never produced ice as well as my old KitchenAid. Im frustrated with the certified KitchenAid repair company, and Im not willing to become frustrated by contacting customer service because all these reviews have all made it clear that it would be a waste of my time.

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator 2 years ago. The quality is amazingly poor. The flange on both crisper drawers broke during the first year. KitchenAid was kind enough to send replacements. Unfortunately they are the same design/same materials. Next the housing that covers the water filter broke off during the first filter change. Now, at two years, we have the plugged defroster drain that seems ubiquitous with these refrigerators. We shut the refrigerator off for a day with a small space heater directed at the drain in an attempt to thaw the thing out. No luck. Water still leaks down into the bottom of the freezer and eventually drains onto the floor. Weve had more problems with this unit than with every other refrigerator weve owned over the past 40 years - combined. Such a disappointment. KitchenAid use to make a quality product. Now their Kitchen products need constant Aid.

I bought a Kitchenaid refrigerator model no. KFIV29PCM501 in June 2014. Within 1 month I had problems with the water dispenser and the ice maker. It took 3 months to get the parts and the service completed. Within 2 weeks I am having the same problems - water dispenser does not display the correct amount of water being dispensed (if you are measuring your water intake this is a good feature to have) and the ice maker does not make enough ice to serve 6 people within a 3-hour period. When I pay close to $3,000 for a refrigerator I do not expect to have to pick up bags of ice to serve a few guests. Also there is very limited space to store tall pitchers, milk, or wine bottles. DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR!!

This model KUDC2OFVSSO - has been terrible since day one. The only way it gets dishes cleaned, is by washing the dishes prior to putting them into the dishwasher. It functions basically as a sterilizer, not a dishwasher. I would NOT recommend getting a KitchenAid! Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

YKERS306BSS - purchased within the last year. The oven randomly shuts off and will not work, nor will the oven panel. The only way to restart the oven is to pull the unit away from the wall, unplug it then plug it back in. Unfortunately this is not a viable solution for our 91 year old mother. We cannot find anything in the manual to help solve the problem. It would seem from the website that this is somewhat a common problem.

My KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS35FX is 18 months old and has worked fine up until a few days ago when it just went completely dead. I didnt buy the extended warranty because I think they are a ripoff. I immediately started looking online for possible causes and solutions. It quickly became apparent that the problem was the thermal fuse. I called KitchenAid customer service 3 times, trying to get them to give me some help and what I got was ticked off. The first thing they told me was that I need to make sure and run hot water into the sink before starting the dishwasher, because the thermal fuse was overworked trying to get to the optimal temp, in this case when it failed, because I had the dishwasher set to sanitize. My issue is that I almost always start the washer right after dinner when I have finished rinsing off the dishes in hot water. They argued that the water needed to be 105, and I asked who in hell stands at the sink with a thermometer checking water temps? Why would they use such cheap and flimsy parts on a machine that I spent close to $900 on? If theres a sanitize feature, why do I have to worry that its going to wreck my machine? Next, they asked what temp my hot water heater is set at and did I know it was supposed to be 120. I said thats right where mine is. Then they suggested I could still spend $250 for their extended warranty and my repair would be covered. They refused to acknowledge that they are fully aware of these defects and refuse to make good on them. It is their cheap design and my tough luck. I called for repairs from the business that I bought the machine from and the tech told us that there is a harness kit for the wiring to keep it stable that KitchenAid came up with, because the connections would become loose from vibration, thus burn out the fuse when it became stressed. So they know they have a problem and they created a fix for it, but dont just fix it on their dime. They expect the consumer to do it. The service call and part cost me $170. I dont have money to waste on this ripoff.

This dishwasher (KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDSO1FLSS6) is seven years old and I have spent more money than the dishwasher is worth. I wish that years ago I would have just bought a new and different brand dishwasher. The control panel has broken several times, the motor stopped working, the plastic utensil holders have melted and my dishwasher is not working again. I just had the panel replaced for close to $300 in February 2012 and the dishwasher does not turn on again! I also find that customer service is awful. I am waiting to hear a response from a representative but I wont sit by the computer. Another reason not to purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance is they use A&E Factory Service and they never show up. I think they are worse than KitchenAid. I had to have my refrigerator replaced several years ago because of a part flaw. I am done with KitchenAid products.

I bought this range during a kitchen remodel some months ago. While it is a good-looking range, it is dangerously easy to turn the knobs on without noticing. If you lean against the knobs, Id even say brush up against them, they turn on with no flame, and you end up with gas escaping until somebody smells it. My spouse has no sense of smell, so its usually me that notices. Id say this happens weekly at least. (You also have to be very careful not to lean on the control panel on the top of the stove, as that will turn on the ovens.) Overall, as I said, a nice looking range but this is a design flaw that so far KitchenAid have refused to acknowledge. When I contacted them about it, they told me I could buy bushings to prevent this happening - so why do they sell bushings if they dont think its a problem? Very disappointed.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (KUDP02FSPA3) for my new home. We moved in December of 2007 and by December of 2011 the door to the dishwasher broke. It would no longer spring close. Because this model has the customizable front door to match the cabinets, the door is extremely heavy - heavy enough to kill a small child when the door broke. We immediately removed the cabinet part so that my 12-month-old baby girl would not be harmed or killed by this defect. I called last week to have someone come out and fix my dishwasher door and the cost was $164. Now that I am doing the research online, I see this is a common problem with this dishwasher model. Why does KitchenAid continue to sell a product that has a defect which could kill a small child? Why did we have to pay $164 to fix this common problem? Is KitchenAid waiting for the defect to actually kill a small child before coming up with a permanent solution to the problem?

We remodeled our Kitchen and we bought a new oven, microwave, dishwasher, warmer all KitchenAid appliances. First time we heated up the oven to 350 degrees, it heated up to over 500 degree and burnt the bottom of the oven. The temperature settings are very off and wrong, everything we cook we have to use set it very low to get it to cook properly. Dishwasher does not clean correctly and it was leaking, they did come in and adjust it. It kind of works now. The Microwave has been repaired twice in the first year, and this model cost $1000. The warmer works fine.I will never buy anything KitchenAid ever again. We have had nothing but 3 years of issues, and the customer service repair guy did not have a clue on how to fix any of these appliances so he just keeps ordering parts and wasting our time for this $1000 microwave. Really disappointed in KitchenAid. They are the worst and most terrible customer service team. They never offered to replace any of the appliances and when we unpacked the microwave it had a ding in the front of it.

We bought the KitchenAid refrigerator on Sept. 15, 2015 and it arrived with a non-working ice maker. We purchased it from a local Eugene, OR company rather than a big box store. My wife wanted to support a local business. When called about the non-working ice maker that dealer said wait 72 hours to see if it comes on because sometimes it takes that long. Had we known that we could not have made the purchase. Other manufacturers provide ice makers that begin work immediately (e.g., GE or LP). When it did not work 72 hours later we called the dealer again and he said he would call KitchenAid (KA) about warranty service. KA called a couple days later to say the parts were on order and would be ready in about 5 days. Nothing happen after 5 days and our dealer has not been any further help (Appliance and TV Center, Eugene, OR). Given the fact that the refrigerator arrived broken and there appears to be no KA service, we regret this purchase. Others in the market would be well-advised to avoid KitchenAid and look to GE or LP whose appliances have worked well for us.

We purchased a KitchenAid 48 KSSC48QT side-by-side (for custom wood panel inserts) from Factory Builder Store along with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, all KitchenAid. The ice maker on the refrigerator has been a joke from the beginning. The ice dispenser does not work, we have to open the freezer door in order to scoop ice out of the bin on the door. When we open the freezer door, ice always falls all over the place and the flap on the ice maker is covered with an ice sheet from some type of leakage. After reading everyones comments, I have come to the conclusion that KitchenAid will soon be a past American icon and I will need to just take it as a loss. What a shame. My kitchen is the heart of my home and was featured in our local newspaper and in MySanAntonio website. We entertain almost every weekend and I make sure all my guests and neighbors know that I dont have any ice from the freezer in my kitchen because KitchenAid makes a lousy product. Guests have naturally gone to the freezer door during a party to dispense ice and I just comment Oh sorry, it’s a KitchenAid. Don’t ever buy one! Please get the ice from my old freezer in the garage! (which for 10 years has worked perfectly). Some of these folks are CEOs, contractors and custom home builders so I make sure the word gets out. I guess I will just keep a supply of bagged ice till the whole ** thing gives out on us, which I expect will happen soon based on everyones feedback!

We purchased the KUDS201XBL1 in April. To this day, we have only seen the clean light 6 times. We have been through 2 different repair companies, 9 emails to KitchenAid, too many phone calls to count, a new control board, being told to turn up our water heater, being told to run the hot water in the sink every time the machine drains and refills, telling us our pipes are bad, maybe it is the motor, the heating element, the control panel again, etc. What we have determined on our own is that the Pro-Wash & Heavy Duty Cycles will not complete. Normal wash and 1 hour wash will complete occasionally as long as the heat dry option is not on. Currently the latest repairman (an outside vendor who in his defense has really tried to work with the company) is waiting for KitchenAid to get back to him. KitchenAid has already told us our warranty does not include replacement, only repair. Well, at this point, I dont expect we will be getting even the repair had. We have basically paid over $700 for a dish rinser.

Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

The repair man did not have an answer, he made many phone calls and theyve decided its the motherboard, which will cost us $500 and a week to get in. I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE A 30 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR in my garage thats still working. Its NOT a KITCHENAID! Then theres the double ovens, that are self-cleaning thats a joke. When I lock the oven to clean it, it blows a circuit and we have to call someone to fix it. The last time the guy said I wouldnt use it. Its NEVER worked, and that was the reason I bought it. BUT I have to clean the ovens by hand because the advertised self cleaning was just a lie. At this point I would rather buy a refrigerator that I can rely on. I tell everyone, Do not buy Kitchenaid. Bought a new side by side with ice maker from Sears in Feb 2012. By July noticed my floor was swollen and wet. Called the tech out. It had a crack in the water valve so it had a slow leak for months. The tech said he never sees these crack. Told me to call Whirlpool. Did, they told me to call Sedgewick which handles the insurance claims. Then Sedgewick told me they couldnt do anything because I didnt have the broke part. How is the average consumer suppose to know to keep it? The tech took it with him. How nice for them. Sedgewick told me to call Whirlpool back. Did, no answer. Had to leave message. Did that twice. Then I went to Sears, said they would look into it. Havent heard a peep. Needless to say have to turn it into my insurance for the 6000.00 damage to the floor you can see, doesnt include the sub floor that might be damaged or the mold that might be under there. This has been a ongoing thing for over a year. Never again will I buy anything Whirlpool or Sears. Customer service is awful. Now 2 of the knobs on the stove I bought at the same time will not turn. I had a new kitchen put into my 80-year-old house by a reputable, long-established DC firm. The kitchen itself is a delight, and I couldnt be more pleased. Because of the somewhat unusual footprint of the space, we were limited in our refrigerator options. I chose a stainless-steel Fisher-Paykel fridge and I love it; I had my own GE Profile range reinstalled. That left the dishwasher and the microwave. Kitchen Guild (the company that installed my kitchen) said I could get a deal by buying at least two KitchenAid appliances. I had never owned a KitchenAid product, but I thought they had a good reputation. What a mistake! The dishwasher started having problems with the LED display before the end of the first year. Finally, it froze completely, and I have not used it in over two years (the kitchen was installed 6 years ago). The built-in microwave with vent fan also began having problems almost immediately. First, the grid on the top fell off and broke; I called and they sent me a new one. Then, the handle fell off and they would not do anything about it! I super-glued it back on. Then, the replacement grid fell off; I super-glued that back on. Tonight I was preparing dinner and put some veggies in the microwave to heat up. The oven started making very loud, strange noises and then I smelled a strange, electrical smell. Obviously, there is something seriously wrong with the oven, and I cannot use it again. I now think I was offered a good package rate on these appliances because they were clearly lemons! I have never had such a negative consumer experience in my life! And I thought this was supposed to be a premium brand! Has anyone else had a similar experience with KitchenAid products? I paid a pretty penny for them and this is an outrage.

I am real happy with the performance. Its quiet... cleans great so far. The bad news is that a thousand dollar dishwasher should not have such a poorly designed upper basket. The wheels just broke and several expensive pieces of glassware fell out and broke. Ask me if I am angry...LOL. After reading the many complaints on the design and quality of the parts used and that most have experienced the same problem I urge everyone to call Whirlpool corp. at Corporate Office Headquarters HQ: Address: 2000 N. M-63, Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022-2692 USA, Corporate Phone Number: 1-269-923-5000, and ask for the Office of the President and complain. The cost of repair with service is over a 150.00 but if youre handy you can fix it better than new for under $2.00.

We have had constant problems: touch panel failed ($200), control board failed ($250), heater element failed which required a heater control board upgrade (design defect) ($250), chopper failed three times ($30 ea), door hinges failed, numerous plastic interior parts failed (all are overpriced), the door latch has a fundamental design problem (we have to use a clamp to keep the door from popping open in cycle). I am an engineer and was able to do all the repairs myself which saved hundreds of additional dollars. The dishwasher is a $1000 piece of junk. I would have scrapped in early on if I had only known!

Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees
Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees whenever the temperature is adjusted or if the door is opened momentarily. Then its necessary to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to rise and for the timing to begin or resume. Weve used other brand ovens and this has never happened with them. The KitchenAid Chat respondent says it was designed this way. Hard to believe, since they must have had numerous complaints about this problem. These days, with all the enthusiasm about home cooking, such a design problem is a very bad one, and very unacceptable for anyone interested in cooking at home. We certainly advise against buying any KitchenAid product if this indicates the quality of their designs and response to problems.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 22 12552 last November. We are two seniors and we dont use the machine daily. So to our surprise, on Oct. 2, the machine went completely dead. No power. I called Sears and a technician came out and ordered the whole new board. We are waiting for it to arrive, but so far hasnt. Sears says its up to me to trace it and to call them tomorrow before 3 to tell them if the part is coming. This shouldnt be my job. I dont trust this machine, I want it replaced, to which Sears says no. It would be fine, but purchase the insurance for $150. This is a heck of a way to run a business. The machine is a lemon and should be replaced. Years past, I had a KitchenAid for 15 years without a service call, and now this unit isnt a year old and is having problems. Its up to the consumer to purchase insurance to keep it running. What a rip-off. This guy at Sears, Carlos, isnt working for the company--only Sears. Where do we have a consumer right? It doesnt wash completely and a huge residue is left on all the dishes. You cant look through the glasses.

We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

We have had 5 service calls to try and fix the cooling in the refrigerator and the ice maker. This stainless steel side by side unit is barely a year old. Having this issue repaired has been such a headache. Whirlpool/KitchenAid has many hoops to jump through and documentation needed. A month later, this issue is still unresolved. I am about to purchase a new refrigerator and just consider this a loss. I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance again.

16 months ago we purchased a KitchenAid 577-1 stainless steel dishwasher. Within a few months the arms to the racks broke. The kick plate was damaged. They sent another that did not fit the unit. We bought the new pieces for the racks, but the racks still did not hold and were slanted. Now the motor has burnt out. I called KitchenAid, they said all parts are under warranty. The repair guy came here, quoted $109 to come in, $200 for the motor, and $150 for labor, saying the motor is not under warranty. I paid him and threw him out of the house. Easiest $109 he ever made for the 3 minutes he was here. I called KitchenAid and asked why the motor was not covered. They told me only the computer and the racks themselves are covered. I asked why they did not tell me that in the first place. They said the rep was misinformed. Dont buy this unit. It is complete garbage. I am now out $1,000 for a machine I got 16 months out of.

We purchased this dishwasher (KUDE70FXPA3) and had it installed 6 months later when our kitchen renovation was finished. After one use, the door latch froze and it would not shut. A week later, the repairman came and reset the lock. When we tried to use it again a few days later (not used in the interim), the latch was frozen again. Out came the repairman with a new latch. All seemed well until the unit started to leak from the lower right side. The repairman cant explain it but is ordering a new seal. KitchenAid did extend the warranty for another year for free as we have only used the machine for six months and have been helpful, but I think it is a poor design. It is also supposed to be able to support a wood cabinet face. The springs are so weak that it barely holds it up. The repairman says it is the same with all of them. We bought this unit, our third KitchenAid dishwasher, because we loved the first two. Suddenly, there is a real quality problem and I would not be likely to buy another KitchenAid unit in the future. The customer service has been good but I really have little faith in the product. It seems like KitchenAid is experiencing the General Motors Syndrome. Hopefully, like GM, they recognize the problems and get back to building quality products. I still love our KitchenAid stand mixer.

In 2009, we remodeled our kitchen and we went to Steeles Warehouse in Butte to look at appliances. We wanted a good quality and because we had heard good things about KitchenAid, that is what we looked at. After doing some research, we decided to purchase our entire kitchen appliances and to go with the KitchenAid. The first month we had our dual fuel convection range, the lights went out in the oven. We called the recommended service tech and he replaced them. A short time later (approx. three months) the lights once again burned out, and again we called the tech and he once again replaced them. At that time, the oven also was not working and he said it needed a new motherboard and replaced it. Now several months later once again, the stove is not working and once again the lights are out, again. We bought the recommended extended warranty only to find out you have outsourced it to a company that will not cover the stove under the warranty because it could have been a power surge? I will never purchase another product from the Whirlpool company. Because if you cant fix it, what is the sense in having it? We spent $3,300 for this stove and cant use it. What do you recommend?

My wife and I bought a Kitchen made dishwasher model # KDS301XBL at Lowes store in Clermont, FL on August 23, 2011. It cost over $700.00. After about a year, we started to have problems with the control panel lights: going dim, not lighting up, etc., then the ceiling lights in our kitchen started to blink and the circuit breaker clicked off... We then called a repair service who replaced the control panel. Within 3 weeks, the panel started to leak water down the front of the new control panel unit. We called the service tech again and he said that the first tech should have replaced the vent and deflector because that is why the water was getting into the control panel causing it to short circuit. $130.00 spent on the first visit and $130.00 on the second visit all for a dishwasher that was not near 3 years old. This D/W has a control panel problem and should have been recalled. There is a class action Lawsuit in the USA and one in Canada also. Avoid this D/W at all costs ....

I purchased the KFIS29BBMS French Door Bottom Freezer refrigerator in 12/13. On November 1, 2014 the refrigerator quit cooling and the freezer quit. Of course, we lost food. The dealership brought us a loaner refrigerator because it took several weeks for the part to be delivered. It was repaired on Dec. 12, 2014. On Christmas Day 2014 while we were gone, it quit working again. Again we lost food. It was picked up to be repaired by the dealership on 12/26/14. The old loaner fridge was brought back and I havent seen my refrigerator since. I have called Whirlpool corporation and have been given the standard warranty speech that they will repair it. I have asked for a new refrigerator to replace mine since it was less than 1 year old and obviously defective. Supervisor Chris was not helpful and said I shouldnt have bought the refrigerator if I didnt like the warranty. So count me in if a class action suit is started. I suggest we now go to social media and tell the stories.

Purchased through very reputable large distributor who verified on two separate service calls this was fact and made sure not due to other issues. We are using a small backup fridge.Distributor has been calling frequently to KitchenAid rep/service to resolve. KitchenAid has not responded for 13 days since filed complaint. In June, 2009, I did a complete kitchen remodel and installed all-KitchenAid appliances, including a side-by-side refrigerator model KSCS25MVMS which cost almost $2,500. I purchased a five-year extended warranty on all the appliances which, unfortunately, has now expired. I recently noticed water damage to the base of the cabinet surrounding the refrigerator and to the hardwood floor. I had an appliance repairman out and he determined that the water leak was the result of a crack in the evaporator drip pan under the refrigerator. He said he would order a replacement pan. A couple of days later he called to inform me that this part was no longer available. He said he could attempt to repair it, with no guaranty that the repair would be successful, or I could buy a new refrigerator. I think it is outrageous that a $2,500 6-year old refrigerator (which is otherwise working fine) is now rendered unusable because of the failure of a cheap plastic part that KitchenAid has discontinued. It sounds like KitchenAid is discontinuing parts availability in order to force people to buy new products. Well, all I can say is, if I end up having to buy a new refrigerator, it will most definitely NOT be a KitchenAid!!!

Well, it started in October and finally, on April 1st (a coincidence?), I found out the part for my oven (replaced once before) was no longer manufactured and they could not find it. I had been promised on 6 separate occasions the part may be available (such fun having Christmas with no oven). It was a litany of no return calls to update the status of the part. The response: Were an incoming call center; we cant make outgoing calls. Hello?! - Its the 21st century. They did offer to pay for the part if I could find it on my own - of course; Ill do your job for you and on my time! As further compensation, they offered me 15% off the purchase of a new unit - once I supplied the invoice. Provincial taxes are 13% in Ontario - so big deal. I will grant you the stove is 10 years old and gently used, but is built-in obsolescence just the way it is? I feel terrible about sending a unit of this size to scrap when a dependable part was all that was required. We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDS30IXSS4) about 3 1/2 years ago when we remodeled the kitchen. The plastic clips that held the upper rack in place broke 2 different times... This was shortly after the warranty expired so I paid both times for the repair. KitchenAid did finally replace this plastic clip with a metal clip on all of their dishwashers but they called it an upgrade and not a recall so they did not reimburse me for the almost $300.00 I had spent on previously repairing the faulty clips. Shortly after the plastic clips had broken the second time the dishwasher made a funny noise. I shut the washer off and then restarted it... Upon restarting it...it seemed fine... However, shortly after this it stopped cleaning the dishes...This was right in the interim when KitchenAid replaced the plastic clip and went to the metal. What we did not realize is that pieces of the broken plastic went down into the chopper/grinder and broke that section of the dishwasher. When the repair man finally realized what had happened we called KitchenAid. I asked KitchenAid to step up and take responsibility for the faulty design and they declined saying that there was not enough evidence/proof that it was faulty design. Needless to say I will never purchase another KitchenAid/Whirlpool product only because they will not step up and take responsibility for their product. Final note...this new repair will cost another $300.00.

We just completed installing a new kitchen, with all new appliances, cabinets, wiring, etc. as of December 2011. On February 4, 2012 while cooking a single potato, we looked at the KitchenAid microwave (Model KHMS2040WBL-1 Serial #TR 1 25 10840) only to discover that it was filled with flames. We pushed the stop button and the flames went out. The instructions screen continued to flash sensing, sensing until I unplugged the device from the outlet. Upon cleaning the microwave oven, we found that the potato was reduced to a small pile of glowing black carbon, the glass turntable was blackened and cracked, the plastic spindle upon which the turntable sits was about 50% burned away, and the paint under where the potato had been sitting was burned down to the raw metal.Reading the instruction booklet, I found that the device is supposed to sense when the food being cooked is giving off steam, and then shut itself off when no further steam is sensed. Obviously, this function failed.I called the KitchenAid customer service line (1800-422-1230) only to be transferred to the Safety Department at Whirlpool, the corporate owners of KitchenAid. After explaining my experience, the representative Timika ** offered to send a repair service to my house. A repair person from A&E came, agreed that there had been a fire and told us not to use the appliance again, because of consumer neglect. What the neglect is a mystery to me. In summary, Whirlpool has refused to cover the damage to the appliance even though it was manufactured in June 2011 and was still under the original warranty. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Consumer Protection Agency and the New York State Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Fraud.I am completely dissatisfied and angry with the Whirlpool response. They seem to want to avoid responsibility for (and resulting recall) a failure of the electronics board in this appliance. I have found the website ** which describes a class action suit over fires in KitchenAid dishwashers, also apparently due to failures in the electronics panel of those appliances.

We are plant-based eaters thus stress on stovetop is minimal yet discolouration around elements is greater than expected.

The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

Purchased the oven on July 15, 2015. Used the self-cleaning feature for the first time today. The oven blew up. Fire Department came and condemned the oven. Said it was defective. KitchenAid is refusing to acknowledge that this is defective. On the phone for 3 hours, transferred everywhere. This double oven cost us over $3000.00 and they are refusing to offer any assistance. The snottiest customer service rep I have ever encountered... MARCIE IN BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN. I was traumatized by the explosion and the resulting smoke. KitchenAid... You should be ashamed of yourselves. How do you sleep at night reading all of these terrible reviews of your supposedly premium products?

I purchased the top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher 2 years ago, paid over $900. I bought the extended warranty and it broke within first 2 years. Turns out there are no parts for the repairs. National back order. This is a new appliance. I paid $250 for the extended warranty only to get a buyout of $573. I am now without a dishwasher and out over $600. My other rant is that they are now going to throw this thing in a dump. What is their carbon footprint? I have never been so dissatisfied with an appliance in my life! KitchenAid can kiss my ass!

We bought this Convection Oven/Microwave at the same time as our oven, KEBS107SS, and cooktop, KFGS 206VSS. After buying it at Sears and coming home and reading the reviews here, I was ready to cancel the purchase. Decided instead to purchase the 5 year extended warranty. Buying warranties is something we dont do. However, we were spending so much on these 3 appliances and after reading the complaints on the oven and microwave, we did purchase the 5 year warranty on the oven and the microwave. Less than 18 months later, the microwave went out. The service guy has been out twice with a 3rd trip scheduled. I have been without my microwave for 13 days and it will be another 10 waiting for the parts. The worst part was being without it while needing to cook for 25 during Christmas, which is not something Id expect to do with a microwave weve had less than 18 months. Next time we buy appliances, I will read reviews before we purchase and I will not purchase from KitchenAid. KitchenAid doesnt care about their consumers who buy their products. (That is a story Ill need to write on our cooktop that we didnt purchase the warranty on.) There are other appliances out there with better reviews. The KitchenAid appliances look nice, but the quality is not there. Our last microwave that was over the oven was not even broken when we replaced it and it was 15 years old without ever having a service call. It was GE and was the microwave that came with the house. It wasnt even an upgraded appliance! I dont write reviews, but I learned so much from reading these, and now that we are having problems with a relatively new appliance, I decided to write this for others.

KitchenAid refrigerator model #KSCS25INSS01 failed, quit and died - This refrigerator quit working after only 5.6 years. It was the main control board. The fact that I lost some food wasnt the real issue for me. It was the response I received: We are very sorry, the control board is no longer available. The vendor that manufactures the part is no longer available, with no new supplier to manufacture the part at this time. Since we are also consumers, we understand your frustration. My only option is to send the part out and have it repaired. No response to my question about warranty and no to a new refrigerator. My issue is if KitchenAid cannot get parts, then they shouldnt be in the appliance business. So much for the warranty, its not worth the paper its written on. I only wish I would have read all of these other complaints prior to buying their products. Did this happen after Whirlpool bought them out or has it always been this bad? I have never had a problem with refrigerator, even the old secondhand ones always work. Any suggestions how to proceed? It looks to me like my experience doesnt even rate as a horror story compared to what I have read on this site.

I have read some of the complaints written about the KItchenAid refrigerators to see if we can finally come to a resolve about our problem too. We actually have the same problem as the person who posted on October 27th, 2012 in that the refrigerator is not cooling. We have a Side-by-Side (water/ice on door) model#: KSRG22FTSS01. Today, Oct 29th, I have made a service call and this will be the 5th time they are coming to my house. We have replaced some parts and have spent a small fortune on dry ice, not to mention, having to throw away a lot of food. Does anyone have an idea of how to really solve this issue?
