Smeg Appliance Troubleshooting

Smeg and Dolce&Gabbana join creative forces to create a truly Made in Italy project where experts from the worlds of high design and fashion meet and merge to create unique domestic appliances that uncover an Italian story.

Dishwasher Troubleshooting

Smeg Dishwasher Problems And Troubleshooting
Smeg slimline freestanding and integrated dishwashers are A+ energy efficient. They have a wide range of key features including quiet noise levels, glass care programmes. And quick wash and timer delay options. Concealed heating elements and adjustable water softener adds to their appeal.
But sometimes features don’t function as they should. See a range of Smeg slimline dishwasher problems and troubleshooting here.

The Basics
A Smeg dishwasher not starting could simply be a problem with the power supply – the appliance won’t start if water is unable to be drawn from the mains water supply. Shut-off valves need to be open. And then the dishwasher should verify the setup and start of a wash cycle.
If this isn’t happening the power outlet itself may be at fault. and household fuses and circuit breakers need to be checked. You’ll need to contact an electrician to safely inspect and put right any power issues.
The water supply and the wash cycle will then need to be rechecked as the appliance may need to be reset – another task that can easily be done by a trained technician.

Time to Call in the Experts
Smeg dishwasher repair London technicians will diagnose and solve any problems. You’ll be assured of an insured service carried out by qualified engineers. And a follow-on warranty that lasts for six months for all repairs. When you’ve got a Smeg dishwasher fault you can make a short notice booking. And get professional repairs. Fast.

Microwave Troubleshooting

The message "S E C U" is displayed.
Cancel the security : open then shut the door and press the START key.

The time counts down, but the appliance does not function (the turntable does not rotate, the light does not come on and the food is not heated).
Press the TURNTABLE OFF key for 5 seconds.

The microwave oven is noisy when operating.
Adjust the front left foot. Clean the wheels and the well area beneath the turntable.

Condensation forms on the door glass.
Clean the vents under the appliance.

The grill element smokes when heating up.
Clean all cooking residue from the grill element.

The turntable does not revolve correctly.
Clean the wheels and the well beneath the turntable.

The microwave programmes do not produce the desired results.
Clean the vents under the appliance. Make sure that you use only containers which are suitable for microwave cooking.

The appliance produces sparks.
Check whether the wheel support is correctly positioned. Thoroughly clean the appliance: remove any greasy deposits, cooking residue, etc... Move any metal objects away from the oven walls. Never use metallic containers with a rack.

Range Troubleshooting

Step 1
Turn on the oven if your kitchen is fitted with power switches for major appliances if the oven is completely unresponsive. Slide the oven away from the wall and ensure the power cable is connected to the outlet if you recently moved the appliance to a new location. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse protecting the oven's circuit if the oven if the outlet isn't working.

Step 2
Turn the child lock off if "Bloc" appears on the display when you press a button. Hold down the "Function/Thermostat" knob for five seconds to enter the oven's "Secondary Menu"; tap the dial until "Bloc" appears on the display then turn the dial until "Off" is displayed. You can temporarily turn off the child lock by holding the "Function/Thermostat" for five seconds. The lock returns when the oven is left inactive for more than two minutes.

Step 3
Turn off "Showroom Mode" if "SHO" appears on the display or if the oven fails to heat up. Hold down the "Function/Thermostat" knob for five seconds and tap the dial until "SHO" appears on the display. Turn the dial until the display show "Off." Showroom mode is designed to exhibit the oven's features while on display in a store. The controls are functional but the oven doesn't heat up.

Step 4
Turn off the power limited if "PO" appears on the screen or if the oven doesn't reach the desired temperature. The power limiter makes the oven use less electricity but causes it to take longer to warm up. Hold down the "Function/Thermostat" button for five seconds and tap the dial until "PO" appears on the display. Turn the dial until "Off" appears and use the oven as normal.

Step 5
Turn the oven off and re-enter your cooking instructions if "ERR4" appears on the display. This code indicates problem with the oven door lock usually caused when the door is opened just before the lock is engaged. Keep the door closed while the oven is programmed and heating up.

Refrigerator Troubleshooting

After connecting to the powermains, the appliance does not operate.
Make sure the wall outlet is powered and that the appliance is plugged in.

Cooling system has beenworking continuously for a long period of time.
Too high environment temperature.
Door is open too often or it is left open too long.
Too much fresh food was inserted

Excessive build-up of ice on the back wall of refrigerator interior may result form the following.
Door is opened to often or it is left open too long.
Warm food was placed in the refrigerator.
Food or a container are in contact with the refrigeratorinterior back wall.
Poor door sealing. If the seal is dirty or damaged, clean it orreplace it.

Water is dripping from the refrigerator.
Blocked water discharge opening; or water from thawed ice is dripping past the water collection trough.
Clean the blocked opening, e.g. using a plastic straw.
If the layer of ice is too thick, defrost the appliance annually.

Signal light D flashes.
Door is opened too often or too long.
Door not closed properly (foreign object between the doorand the housing, tilted door, damaged seal, etc.)
A longer power failure.
Too much fresh food inserted at the same time.

Door won't open easily.
If you wish to open freezer door immediately or shortly after closing it, you may feel rather strong resistance. When the freezer door is opened, some cool air escapes from the freezer compartment and it is replaced by warm air from the environment. When this air is cooled, a sub-pressure buildsup, causing resistance to door opening. After a few minutes, the condition is normalized and the door can be easily opened again.

- drain hose is not kinked
- drain pump not fouled.

Water not pumped out after last rinse in delicate fabrics and wool programmes

3 months and everything is very good. A quiet, efficient machine. Nice looking washer, easy to clean with no sticking out bits. Buttons require firmer pressure for a little longer than I have encountered before. I actually like that. Decided to go Smeg as all appliances in a rental we owned (14) years were totally trouble free.

It’s a good dishwasher with useful settings. The size allows a lot to fit in quite easily, the cutlery holder sits in the dishwasher well. The dishwasher does a really good job of cleaning and drying the dishes. It’s pretty quiet while washing. I always use the “eco” wash option for dishes and it does a really good job.

After our old dishwasher an Asko died we looked for a replacement. Two dishwashers would fit into the space provided an Asko and a SMEG , Decided on the SMEG and I am super pleased we did. It washes dishes superbly clean (much better than the ASKO ) while being quiet in use. The controls are easy to use and in ECO mode uses very little water. I purchased the Smeg after my 3 year old Bosch died. Overall, I am much happier with the Smeg dishwasher as it does a much better wash than my Bosch ever did. Dishes with baked on food are left clean without the need for pre rinsing or soaking. The dishwasher is quiet, has a simple push button interface with plenty of wash cycles and extra features such as half load, delay start and time remaining display. I use the condenser drying feature when I run the dishwasher at night, which opens the door at the end of the cycle which saves on energy.. By morning most dishes are dry, if I need dry dishes in a hurry, I turn the feature off and everything is dry. The dishwasher has a cutlery drawer, and cutlery basket. The drawer can be removed, however I like it and if the cutlery is placed correctly, it stays in place. My only complaint is that cutting boards and baking trays cannot be placed upright and they have no be laid flat which isn't that big of a deal. I especially like the fact that the dishwasher only uses 9 litres of water. Overall I think that this is far superior to the Bosch that I had, and to anyone who may be considering a Bosch, do some research, specifically about the E15 error that is extremely common.

I've had my orange FAB32 fridge for four years and I love it as much now as I did when I first saw this version overseas around six years ago. I ordered mine as soon as this two-door upside-down version was available in Australia. I have never regretted the purchase decision. It was expensive and certainly a luxury but given what it looks like I don't think it is over-priced. I have never owned a fridge, or any other appliance for that matter, that gets so many comments from visitors. I have people hug it, drool over it, open and shut it etc. People are drawn to it the minute they walk in my apartment. I highly recommend spoiling yourself and buying one. It is beautiful. I love it. My friends love it. It is an item of iconic design. It uses very little power. It has a compact footprint but holds all I need it to easily. It comes in a range of colours and patterns (my is orange). It keeps my food and beverages cool and it looks cool ... what more could anyone ask for from a fridge? Smeg even do a matching free-standing dishwasher! There is nothing I dislike about this product

I got a smeg because another brand's fridge i purchased died within a week, it was fates way of telling me I should just get the fridge I REALLY wanted. So I did. It sits in my kitchen shining like something from 2001: A space odyssey .. It's easy to keep clean on the outside despite being black. I found the space just right for our family of three, although the bottom freezer draw sometimes jams. Just enough room for mummy and daddies beer and wine, with enough room for lots of milk for the kids. It's not the quietest of fridges, it hums sometimes and makes weird bubbly sounds on occasion but mostly I don't notice anymore, I'm too busy staring at how classy and retro it looks. I've had my fridge two years now and have had no need to defrost and no issues! This was my biggest fear cos they don't have the best track record when I first researched. Buying a fridge that costs this much isn't rational, but sometimes you just got to buy the thing you want not just the thing you need. Next time I think I'll get an outrageous colour!
