The first two years with the Viking refrigerator was a nightmare. They came out 10 times. First, it was the wheels. Then it was the compressor. Then it was the coils. Something happened when it was put in. The people were inexperienced or they manhandled it. We told them to give us a new one and quit repairing it. It went back to Ferguson and they got us a new one. The install went better but the second refrigerator had a problem with the cooling fan. It was noisy from the second they plugged it in. Eventually, we got someone out. There were four or five different trips to repair this second one and sure enough, it was the fan. After two years, two refrigerators and 15 visits, the Viking refrigerator is working like it should. Its a nice refrigerator, but we went through a lot of troubles. Between two refrigerators and the repair, every time they repair it, you gotta take all the food out and I probably got scuffs on the floor. We wont get Viking again. We paid four or five times as much purely because Viking has such a good reputation but the worst thing about our house was this refrigerator. It got so bad that we called the attorney general of Minnesota who stepped in on the case. Viking’s been very polite when we call them up. The problem is there are different groups to work with - my contractor, Vikings, Ferguson, the person who installs it and a different person who repairs it.

I’m a real estate agent so I know a lot about appliances. I had some requirements, like a French door, three doors and that special compartment with the special temperature. There were some features which when I combined with the money I wanted to spend on it, it came to this particular Viking model and I like it very much.

Im 59 years old and have been cooking forever and I always prefer a gas range. Part of the reason I chose a Viking was its design. We had a GE before that had some problems with its electronic components, and I was sick of replacing that card. And it happened two times and so I wanted something a little bit more simple. Im very satisfied with my Viking range. Its convection works great and it did everything it was supposed to do. I also liked the design of the inside oven of the Viking range and how easily the wire shelves slid out. It felt very stable and nice. Then theres the simmer feature where I can really bring the temp down low. It is awesome because not all ranges go quite low enough. I like the control that I have on that. I also like its sleekness. It doesnt have a whole bunch of electronic stuff because I dont need all that stuff on my range. I just want to cook with it.However, when it was delivered, there was damage done to that bottom kickplate. Everybody tried hard to order it from Viking and get it here. Finally, the salesman where we had bought it out said, You know what? Ive got a range here. Weve got it on order. How about if I bring this down to you or send this down to you. You guys put it on. And when you get the replacement thing, you guys bring it up to us? So thats what we did. It was not the perfect fix but I appreciated the salesman going bazillion miles over. It was just such a conundrum for anybody to figure out how to do it. It wasnt the delivery people that caused the problem. It was done in packaging from Viking and that was aggravating.

My 3 years old Viking oven start acting up. First the broiler quit working. The igniter try to light up but no flame. Now the oven is temperamental, sometimes it will work, sometimes doesnt want to work. For a three years old oven it should not be doing this. Feeling frustrated. Spend a lot of money for a lousy quality oven. Trying troubleshooting the problem but all result fails. This should be simple to fix. There is not much electronic that goes with this oven. Just switch, gas line, igniter & thermostat...what else is there.

Ive known about Viking for years. Ive had Sub-Zero for years, but we just replaced it with the Viking. I liked the quality of the Viking refrigerator I received. It’s a side-by-side refrigerator. However, there’s one thing I don’t like and that is there are no shelves on the freezer side of the door. There are shelves on the door on the top, but just not on the bottom. I’m used to the Sub-Zero having the shelving all the way down on the door.

Not the greatest service for a pretty pricey appliance. The grid was kind of hard to maintain. Overtime, the grill top did look discolored (supposed to be normal) but it kind of bothered us as we had an open kitchen concept. Otherwise, best gas stove we have had so far in-term of cooking/pots - the grill top in the center and 2 cooking grids on either side.

I like that Viking products are made in the USA, and so I had their products in a previous home too. We also decided to buy an entire Viking kitchen for our guesthouse. That includes a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cooler, and microwave drawer. However, we had a problem with the dishwasher and Viking took almost nine months on it. They ended up having to replace it because the technician messed the other one up.Our refrigerator has also been leaking at the bottom for the last five months. The thing is its in the guesthouse and it’s hardly used. The parts that have issues are all under warranty of about six to eight years. Ive been dealing with a gentleman from Viking who has been trying to get technicians down here. One tech took off the door as well as the back panels, and now the door wont close and it leaks on both sides instead of one. It’s very frustrating because other than that one tech who came, I’ve still yet to get another one to come and look at the refrigerator and were about ready to throw it out on the street. My liking of Viking has always been the cooktops or ranges. In fact, I just had my 60-inch installed in my kitchen in the main house. I still like the product. Its just very frustrating to deal with customer service. Their service and follow-up is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anybody. Ive been in the restaurant business for 30 years and people respect the opinion. So I cant make a recommendation when something is lopsided.

Im very disappointed about the service department. This problem started in December and until now it is not solved. They ordered the wrong parts 3 times. Executive Appliance say that Viking kept sending the wrong parts. I lost a lot of money throwing away spoiled food and at this point I really need to be compensated for that and I dont believe that this fridge is going to be fixed. It should be replaced.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. We went through Ferguson to buy our Viking range and they were great. We spent a lot of time looking into the range that we would buy because we just remodeled our whole kitchen and I’m hoping that our range will last for a very long time like my mom’s. I would recommend Viking.

I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

I love my Viking range. What I don’t like about it is when the knobs get a little bit older, the numbers rub off of them, and you cant use it. I never would have bought a Viking because of that reason at all. All my friends that have Viking, once their stove is a couple of years old, you can’t read anything on it. Wherein the Wolf stove, the numbers are embedded into the knobs so even if the paint wears off on them, you still have the numbers. The install of the Viking range was easy. But once it was installed, when I ran the convection fan, it was rubbing into something behind the stove. But the technician tried to come out and fix it to me. The other problem that I noticed with the Viking that Im gonna have to modify was I ordered the extended backsplash for it, and it doesnt fit. It was the proper extended backsplash for it so what I have to do is the stove has to be cut in order to accommodate the bigger backsplash. The backsplash is sitting at my house, unused, because Im going to wait for the factory warranty to expire on this, then Im going to cut the back of the stove and fit it.

I have a Viking gas stove that does not turn off and continues to heat until I have to turn off the electric at the circuit breaker. I have had this repaired just a few weeks ago and it is happening again. I have been waiting for a call back from Viking since Monday and this is dangerous. My husband has called many times daily. The oven thermometer read over 700 degrees. Viking will be responsible if something happens. Weeks without an oven is unacceptable when you pay almost $5000 for an oven. I want this fixed. If my house blows up, it is well documented that this is part of the recall and I have called you guys. Im sure the insurance company would see Viking as responsible. Unacceptable!

At first, we were thinking about Thermador, but the package that Viking offered with the microwave at the time coaxed us to go the Viking route so that we could have a Viking range and microwave. Were very happy with the range. It cooks phenomenally and bakes pretty evenly, which is really great. Plus, the way the dials light up at night looks pretty cool. But my favorite thing is the blue lights that light up under the lighting on the external part of the range.

Viking Range Corporation should have a class action lawsuit. Their ranges have the worst performance in the appliance field. $780 was the last bill to get it up and running. Ive known Viking for a long time. I had to make a decision on a new kitchen and so I chose them. With Wolfe, you have to have a subzero refrigerator and I wanted everything to be Viking. My experience with the dealership was awesome. I like the quality of the refrigerator but I’ve had quite a few calls to fix things. We had problems with the hinge on the bottom of that refrigerator. The door sunk down and so there was almost at one point, about three-quarters of an inch difference between the refrigerator and the freezer. They had to re-put in a binder and had to come out twice for that. And then on Thanksgiving, the top of my stove was horrible. Something went out and the oven shut down. They could not replace that and it was unbelievably awful. Also, with my Viking microwave, I had the whole motherboard replaced. And that was under warranty. Thank goodness my refrigerator and the range were under two years warranty. The products look beautiful when you walk into my kitchen. It looks really nice but it’s not worth it. My refrigerator was $8000 which is stupid and my range was $1000. I could probably get adjustments for the product with GE profile.

I also love all the different ranges that you can put your oven on with the convection, which can be the low, the medium, or the high. It gives you so many options. All the burners come off so nicely and I havent had problems cleaning it. People should get Viking if they were thinking about it.

I was online looking for a dual-range stove, dual-fuel, and I came across Viking. I know people have them and are very happy with them so I went with them too. The quality was great and I love it. The biggest thing that sold me on the Viking was the burners, just being able to turn them on without having to program anything. That was one of the big features. We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

After I bought Viking appliances, Ive been having problems, and the products are less than two years old. In the first year, we had a problem with the dishwasher. Something went wrong. But they came out and fixed it. Then we had a problem with the refrigerator. The heater for the ice maker didnt work, so there was water pooling at the bottom and then flat out. They came and they changed the heater one time. Then a week later, the same thing, water was coming out again. They said there was some piece over there that was missing. I was disappointed. A $10,000 refrigerator, and within two years, we have problems. For products like these, it should have a longer warranty than one year. But I like it. It has all the features that I need. Its a stainless steel finish but it has a scratch. Theres a stainless steel repair kit that I have to get to polish it back to before.

We purchased a Viking range in 1996 for $4,000. We began having problems with the oven igniters not working, therefore could not use the oven. We had them replaced the first time, at the cost of $217.89 on 12-23-98. This problem has recurred on a regular basis. We have replaced the igniters repeatedly on: 8-12-02 for $271.25, 7-13-06 for $310.00, 2-17-10 for $245.05, 1-21-10 for $265.26, and 8-09-11 that cost $402.95. Two days after the last repair, on 8-11-11, the igniters again would not work.As I write this today, I am without the use of my range again and find myself waiting for repairs to the same one later this week. This has become a nightmare! We have spent nearly $2,000 in repairing the same defective part over and over again. We are retired and cannot afford to keep replacing the igniters that are defective. The range is totally unreliable. I never know if it is going to light when I turn it on. We have used only repair services that are officially recommended by Viking. Our calls and concerns to Viking go nowhere.Upon investigating further, I have found that the igniters have been a constant problem in these Viking ranges and they were forced to redesign the igniter/burners system in the newer ranges. Where does that leave those of us who own these lemons? I would like to consider taking action against Viking.

We absolutely love Viking Ranges. My dad had a Viking range and hood for about 15 years and he loved it. He’s an avid cooker and that’s what sold us on Viking. And we’ve not been disappointed. They’re wonderful and fabulous. We went through Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale and they ordered everything for us. We’ve got the range that’s gas, which we were thrilled to get here in Florida since there is no natural gas. We had to put in propane to get that. We’ve also got the hood and the Viking microwave. We didn’t have the microwave for a period because of a problem with the display, but it works fine now. Other than that, it’s great.I also love that the stove top is incredibly easy to clean up. I just have to take the grates right off. We had a décor stove top in our previous house in New Mexico and that one was awful to clean. I like that the gas stove, as well as the oven, seems to cook evenly too. We’re always showing off our Viking appliances. We have pictures of them which we show to people.

A Viking fridge was part of our home purchase. We were able to pick out the refrigerator that we prefer within some limitations. We could pick the fridge with or without the ice dispenser on the door but we couldnt really change the size because weve already locked in the design of the cabinet. Still, we had the option of picking one from three different vendors. I like the size and the overall layout of the one we ended up with. The quality of refrigeration is okay, however, theres a lot of temperature differential within the interior of the refrigerator - the top shelf might be 34 degrees and the bottom shelf might be 41 degrees. The reason I know the temperature now is because the temperature that it was set to wasnt anywhere close to what it actually was. Hence I bought a little wireless thermometer that I could put in the refrigerator to tell me in real time what the temperature was. Just from putting that in different places in the refrigerator, I found that theres more difference in temperature than I wouldve expected. I havent worried as much about the freezer although we had a number of service issues. With these service issues, it took three or four service calls to finally get the problem sorted out.

Our home is new construction and not our permanent home. We plan to live in the house 50% of the time. We moved in October 20, 2020. We purchased all Viking kitchen appliances and mind you this is our first Viking purchase and will be our last. After the first use of the stove top, it started rusting. The front panel and the back vent panel. No chemicals were used to clean. All I used was dawn detergent, water and a microfiber cloth. After contacting Viking we were told that we have a 90 day cosmetic warranty so they are willing to replace the parts that are rusting. Huh??? The oven had not been used or the oven door had not been wiped down. The microwave or dishwasher had not been used either at this point. So Viking was to just replace the parts that are rusting and Im to hold my breath that nothing else rusts in the 90 days or it will not be covered. Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable?I told Viking that stainless steel should not rust and so quickly. After submitting a request to Viking for a replacement range, management declined my request. I bet if “management” paid $7000 for a range and it rusted the first time they cooked, they would not find this acceptable. I will never buy Viking again and their customer service stinks. I’ve had to call Viking every time because they do not call back or follow up.

Ive known Viking Refrigerators for so long. I like the look and the style of the refrigerators. They also have a better quality than the rest of their competitors. The refrigerator that I have bought is average and Ive spent $9,000 on it. However, I’ve already had a service call out here because the thing wasn’t working properly. Based on the fact that they had charged much more, their product and service should have been stellar. Even so, somebody quickly got out here and that guy was great. I also Iike the construction of the solid door. And also, I like the fact that the inside thing is made of metal. Purchasing from Viking was a good experience up until the point where they were to deliver the item, but then it all went to crap. When they delivered the item, they gave me a delivery date, but they didn’t meet that. And then they gave me another delivery date and didn’t meet that as well. So it was just a big fiasco. It took three days to finally have the item installed. Since that was a Monday, they didn’t even have it installed and so I installed it myself. Also initially, Viking was responsive. I had bought three different products. I bought a Viking Refrigerator, the beverage center, and the ice machine. And two of them were delivered on one day. The beverage center was deemed late by Viking. They said they didn’t have it yet. So, once again, the second time they came in, they’re supposed to deliver it but they didn’t show up. They called me and told me that it wasn’t gonna be delivered for another couple days. And then again, it was supposed to be delivered between 12:00 and 5:00, and they showed up at 9:00 at night. The second time they delivered, the service level just sucked. These dealers are representing Viking. I know its difficult because they’re not just selling Viking, they’re also selling other products. But at the end of the day, it puts a bad taste on my mouth that Viking works with these people. If Viking wants to say that they are a service-oriented company and believes in their customers, then they ought to pay attention to who’s actually selling this product and who’s delivering the product in the homes because it only takes one experience to turn somebody off. So I don’t know if I’d ever buy another Viking again. I would also tell others that if they ever want to go buy the product, that would be fine but I would also tell them to make sure they do their research.

Trying to get parts in has proven to be next to impossible. On three different occasions, different parts were needed for 3 separate Viking appliances, it took over one month to get parts delivered to service repairman. When questioning the repairmen (I have tried 2 different service companies) they all stated that they were unable to get anyone to answer any questions, had no tech support, and were very hard to work with. I love my appliances, however going without a dishwasher for over 1 month, after 3 service calls and still the part is not on its way. And of course the warranty is out! I need a motherboard replaced after only under 2 years of buying the appliances. $345 for just the motherboard, not to mention 3 service calls. I should have just bought a new dishwasher, and next time they will NOT be Viking. Customer service is key and they are locked out!!!!

In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. Oh, and the burners in the oven had been replaced 3 years ago and I was told that I use my oven a lot, NOT. The burners cost over $1,000 to replace. Hate Viking.

I’ve known Viking’s name for a long time and I chose them partly because I love the double French door oven and I like to get all matching appliances. I have a Viking refrigerator, dishwasher, induction cooktop, and a double oven but I don’t have the microwave as it didn’t fit in my nook which was very disappointing. The refrigerator’s layout is good and the lighting is working well. The refrigerator is a match with the cooking and baking and I like it. The Viking products I have are very good. But I had a screw come out of my dishwasher and I can’t figure out where it should go. Also, on the refrigerator, the little canal where you adjust the temperature that kind of sits at the bottom of it is loose. But, when you look at the oven, the racks are substantial and anyone comparison shopping can tell a huge difference. Additionally, the induction cooktop has been amazing. Our Viking dealer is Ferguson and they have been great. We had a lot of trouble on the installation and they made it right and they put in a new manager, to fix the issues. They also did the pre-site inspection after and it wasn’t right and was worthless. The representatives didn’t measure accurately and completely. They did not mark any modifications needed for the Viking microwave. But when I delved into it, there was no way it was gonna fit because of the depth. Then, they marked the height of the double oven that’s needed but not the depth. The back of my cabinet also had to be torn out and that was a surprise. Ferguson is fixing that and it was a hassle. Buying the Viking products was awesome but getting them put in was stressful. I had the double oven sitting in my living room for a few weeks while we work out the issues. So far, my experiences with Viking have been good and I’m hoping their products last a long time. They look beautiful. Still, I’m waiting for my rebate check and once I get that I’ll be full thumbs up for Viking.

Where do I begin. 4 and half years ago, we remodeled our home and bought Viking appliances which we have been very happy with EXCEPT for the horrible, horrible dishwasher. It has NEVER worked properly, EVER. So much so that after 2 years, I got Viking to replace it with a new one and its still doesnt work well. It spontaneously starts beeping, non-stop, the cycle takes FOREVER. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. A friend recommended to get a less expensive one, stainless steel but that will work better. Thats all from me.... Grrr.

I wanted a commercial grade oven for the new house because I do a lot of entertaining so I got a Viking range. I, however, had problems with it. Six out of the eight burners failed during the installation. I then called in warranty replacement and they sent the company out and theyre supposedly on back order. Ive been waiting for the replacements for six weeks now. I have two working burners for a $13,000 oven. Im not happy at all.

I went with a five-piece Viking appliance package for its price and the brand reputation. I was able to get the five pieces that worked best for me at that time. However, I found that Viking appliances as a whole are very simplistic. Its great in a refrigerator, but not so much in some of the other appliances. I had Jenn-Air previously and their appliances just had more features. But for refrigeration, it just needs to keep cool things cool and frozen things frozen. The refrigerator is the Viking appliance that we have that I like the best. It’s nice-looking and seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do. It also has a good amount of space. The lighting is nice. The shelf assembly and the drawers are all great. The refrigerator is working out really well.

The Viking is not a minute fraction of what I think it should have been and expected. The customer service is absolutely miserable, had multiple problems from the start, and buying from Pacific In Store at Best Buy was a HUGE mistake. The Viking Experience which I literally looked forward to for YEARS is a massive let-down. The only positive is, I LEARNED and since I am selling my house and moving to Iowa I get to buy a high end range all over again and have it NOT be Viking! Like a nice WOLF, Thermador or Capitol. I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

I reached out to Customer Service and they responded promptly. They were knowledgeable and courteous, scheduled time with me, and then showed up on time. The repair done was excellent. Since my range has been working, Ive liked everything about it and its been good. However, the vice president in charge of customer relations told me that we get the one-year extension on my warranty. The new range was delivered without the fan retrofit to cool knobs. This was a known problem! Oven again was not maintaining temp. Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges forever. I felt that it had everything that I needed at the price point that I could afford. I wanted a Wolf because everybody has a Wolf and raves about it. But I thought that it was out of my price range. I wondered where could I get something of equal quality but without all the bells and whistles, which was why I bought a basic Viking range with no electronics, just the straight goods. We dealt with Trail Appliance and liked them very much. The salesman there had the very same Viking range and was really positive about it. They also offered a free set of pots and pans once you bought your Viking range, but I’ve contacted them twice, and nobody has gotten back to me about it. That bothered me. Other than that, we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The ranges quality is excellent. My favorite thing is how hot it could get and how low it could go without disruption.

I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

If by accident you spill oil or water, you need to burn yourself and clean the stove immediately. It gets marked very easily. Im a cook so it’s crazy. Im completely shocked. We tried different stoves and they have electronic components in them and they went bad quickly. On the last one we had, the little plastic with all the stuff that they have where they push the button burned. So, we got fed up with it. Our favorite feature so far with our Viking is the burners. Prior to that, we had some drips in the back of it and then it went away and now its back so I have to call someone again. In 2005 in gave myself my dream kitchen. Room for 4 + of us to work in the kitchen at the same time, lots of cabinets for storage and countertops for work space and, most of all, high end appliances. Almost from the beginning I regretted my choice of Viking products. They look good, but... Lets start with my double wall oven, one of the ovens takes 30-40 minutes to come to temp, wile the other is about 8-10 minutes. They claim it was designed that way. Why? No answer. The thermostat in one oven went out within 2 years, which meant I had to have the cabinet person here at the same time to fix the oven because they wouldnt work on it otherwise. Then there is the cleaning process which takes darn near a whole day not to mention a lot of electricity! Next, the stovetop, backsplash, hood units. The hood works fine, not very easy to clean and is very loud. The stainless backsplash arrived with scratches. It has the fold down racks for warming etc. When I called, they said they would send someone, so it was installed, after a couple of months, they said I needed to return it for repair! Not possible! I would have to uninstall cabinet trim, stove top and hood for that to happen. They said that was my only option so I have lived with the scratches for the last 15 years. The stove top is 90% great! However, cleaning is a nightmare! There are so many nooks for things to spill into, crumbs to fall into and NO way to get them out short of totally dismantling the whole stove which would require a pro. There is a pull out crumb tray but its always un-nerving to clean it as there are random wires hanging down and seem to manage to get caught when you are trying to clean. Next the 48 refrigerator/freezer unit. Just over the 6 year mark by a couple of months, the fridge stopped working! Service people had been here on 2 prior occasions for the temp of fridge not being correct. They basically said, too bad, soo sad! The unit became a storage compartment as I battled with Viking. They finally offered a 50% off a new unit which was still a hefty price tag for a 6 year old fridge even though service had been here for cooling issues. The new one has been mostly fine but, the freezer gaskets dont seal well til the door is leaned on! Last but not least, the dishwasher, First it took a few months for them to get the order right, there was a bracket required for the install and they couldnt manage to get one here, nearly 6 months later, I finally had a dishwasher. What I quickly learned is that you almost have to wash your dishes before you put them in the washer, and the bottom rack rollers are insufficient for rolling the rack in and out when it is only half full of dishes. Their solution is to SELL you wider rollers for $100. and the rack still wont stay on the track! It is quiet (some consolation) So, in the 15 years since my dream kitchen was built, I get lots of WOWs when people come in for the first time but I always tell them, looks can be deceiving and if you actually want to use the products, cook with them, bake with them, dont bother with Viking, coz looks are their only specialty.

I have always heard about Viking Ranges and always wanted one. We remodeled our whole house, so we got all new appliances. We did some research and Viking Range was really out of my cost range but I found one at Best Buy that was being discontinued and it was locked down and so we got it. I chose Viking because I liked the look of it. I wanted a dual fuel and I liked the look of the cooktop and I particularly like the self-cleaning range. I was also looking at a KitchenAid but when I dug deeper, I found that it wasnt self-cleaning and Viking Range appeared to be. I havent cleaned it yet. We used to have just a cooktop and a separate oven and I wanted both of those combined together. Other ranges were far away from the actual burner itself and I really wanted one that was closer. I really like the shelf, pulling it in and out and Viking was very smooth in that. So, we decided to go with a Viking Range. However, the quality is not so good. We bought it in October off the showroom floor. They sat here for over a month and then they installed it and it didnt work. The gas cooktop worked but the electric oven did not work. Since we bought it at Best Buy through Pacific Sales and we signed up for their Geek Squad offer or the five-year plan, we called them and someone came out the next day. They told us that the motherboard was fried. So, they said I have to order another one. So, we waited and waited and finally, they ordered the part, the part came and the guy who came to install it said, Oh, this is the wrong part. This is not what we ordered. So at that point, this was in January, I was fed up with them because both who came had no good things to say about Viking. We started questioning if we made the right decision. Maybe we loved the way it looks, but if I have problems with it, then this is not the range for us. So, we went to Best Buy and Pacific Sales, and we talked to them and they were very nice about it. They asked if we want our money refunded or if we want to pick out another one instead. I selected the KitchenAid that I wasnt going to get the first time. And in the meantime, they gave me the name of the Viking dealer in Dallas area that provides some support for that kind of thing and told us, Call them directly and see what they can do. And if they get it fixed and you want to use it, use it until your other one comes in. So, the KitchenAid was back ordered and it was just supposed to be delivered last Thursday. The guy came out from the other place and he worked on the Viking range and he said, Well, I think its just the power supply thats bad on it. Let me get a part for it. So, he ordered a part, he came out and it was just the power supply. He fixed it and got it up and running and thats been a couple of weeks ago. Now, its up and running and I love it. The guy who fixed it recommended that we should call Viking and get an extended warranty from them. I did but Viking doesnt offer an extended warranty. Also, theres a lot of things in there and I have not used but I did not get anything with it that tells you not to do or how to convert or any of that. I got to figure that out. I have conventional kitchen instructions and I wanted it to convert it to convection but I dont know how thats going to work yet. We bought an extended warranty with Best Buy or Pacific Sales because it does have a material warranty on it. So, Im going to call the people who can fix it for two years and then we go back to Best Buy for the last three years. I havent used all the functionality on there but I love what Ive used, which is bake and Ive used the cooktop and the grill on the cooktop. If I had purchased it from someone else who knew more about Viking, I might have had a different experience. I dont know how long they studied Viking. But when I called the Viking repair people directly, they said not everyones authorized to make changes. If youre going to buy something off the floor, it should work, and you should have people who are authorized to fix come out and work on it. And whoever comes out, since you spent a ton of money on it, you want someone to confirm that you made the right decision and not bad mouth what you had.

I have a 36 Viking refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Generally it does what its supposed to do -- keep food cold. But its rather noisy. I can hear it running in the next room. The refrigerator door has an annoying tendency stay open; it has to be closed with a deliberate push or it will swing wide and bang into an adjacent wall. I assumed it would be a simple adjustment to rebalance the door so that it would close with a slight nudge as most refrigerator doors do, but a Viking repairman said there was nothing he could do to correct the problem. The ice maker has also been troublesome. There is a thin metal bar that senses when the ice cube bin is full and shuts the ice maker off. The same bar also acts as a manually operated switch to turn the ice maker back on when more ice cubes are needed. However, the bar is rather flimsy and has a tendency to come loose from its socket, with the result that the ice maker runs continuously churning out buckets of ice cubes with no way to stop it (echoes of The Sorcerers Apprentice) other than by turning off the water supply -- not very well engineered.

My Viking Refrigerator got serviced since the automatic defrosting unit was bad. It would not cool and it took a long time before someone came out to fix it. We went for almost two and a half weeks without having a refrigerator. We dealt directly with Viking and they had to find somebody in the local area to fix the unit. They had to bring someone from about 50 miles out to come and fix it because we live in a not very convenient place. Then the team who handled the issue was very good and professional. Overall, the experience has been pleasant and we really like the quality of the refrigerator. We just did a kitchen remodel and we bought a whole Viking unit including a refrigerator, stove, warming drawer, hood, and microwave drawer. Were very pleased.

I wanted a Viking range and we purchased one from P.C. Richards. The guy we worked with was a very helpful, nice man. We started the renovation in July and since we’re doing everything ourselves, it took a lot of work to get everything ready and the people from the dealership were very patient with us. When we were ready, they brought the different things that we needed when we needed them as opposed to everything at once. It worked out very nicely. So far, I haven’t had much time to do a whole lot of stuff with our Viking. I’m still getting used to it. I look at it and I’m thrilled. I like to bake and cook and I’m just waiting to get the time to try out different things with it. I like that the shelves are easy to move around. It helps out a lot. Also, they gave a lot of instructions on how to set things up inside the oven to make sure I can cook more than one thing at a time.

After reading some of the reviews, I guess Ive gotten off easy with my fully Viking stocked kitchen, but nevertheless I feel compelled to add to the pile of one star ratings. Granted my Viking appliances are 10 years old, but having had GE and KitchenAid appliances, which last 20 years, my expectations are that if Viking is going to charge THAT much money for an oven, or a dishwasher, then itll last even longer than the other brands. We had a years worth of trouble with our oven burning everything before it finally exploded (literally). After 2 months Viking finally sent the right part. Oh, but they told the repairman to bend the piece to make it fit; even the repair man was incredulous. Now we have been waiting 4 weeks for a part for our dishwasher. I called the day it was due in (today), and nope, not ready. Itll be another 2-3 weeks. Its back ordered. Who is making these parts? Elves that work only by the light of the moon?! Viking: Figure this out. Figure out how to make better appliances (Many, many of your competitors have already figured this out. Its not rocket science). And then, figure out how to get your parts faster. Your turnaround time takes me back to the 1860s. Its absurd. Thankfully we didnt buy these appliances, the previous owners did. But I cannot wait to replace them. My plan is to take all 4 Viking appliances to Burning Man and set them on fire.

Its worth every penny I paid for it. Its a quality appliance and Id buy it again in a heartbeat if I had a choice. And Im so far very happy with it. I hope that I dont run into any kind of issues. My husband wanted a Viking Refrigerator so we bought and paid for it. Best Buy brought and installed it. But they left me with a noise as if I was standing on a runway and an airplane is operating on it. We could not turn on the TV and hear it. We had to shut off all the doors, and even then, we heard it. It was horrible. I called the dealer three times to come. They came, claimed that they fixed it, but they fixed it for two seconds and left. On the third time, I lost them completely and they wouldn’t come back to fix it so I called Best Buy and spoke to everybody there. They transferred me to the Viking office. Some lady said they can send me a repairman, but not till next week. I told her that they have to send somebody right away, but they did not. The day went by and I couldn’t get anybody because it was already evening. I called them the next morning and they finally had somebody from Viking called me. He found a third party and they came. But they left me with a wire hanging into the fan. It was when they transferred it, and that made the noise. At this point, I had a lemon because the fan was damaged. At Best Buy, even the person who sold it told me that his hands were tied and can’t do anything. The manager who came back from vacation was supposed to call me to tell me that they were exchanging the refrigerator, never called me. I had to do everything myself and went back to the store. They said I can choose something else. I chose the JennAir and I wanted to upgrade already. They said that they would come towards me, but I have to pay close to $500 more. I thought about it and calculated it. I also spoke to my son-in-law who just investigated which refrigerator was the best. He said that as long as I have to pay the difference, I might as well pay a little more and get the Sub-Zero. At the headquarters, Lionel was the only guy who was very nice. I talked to him and he called me back the next morning. He asked me what was my decision and I told him to pick the Viking ref up and take it out of here. They left me with a hole for two days and some of my food got spoiled. I got my Sub-Zero on the third day, and we are so happy we made the change. The experience with Viking was a nightmare. We were very unhappy and so aggravated. I also think that Best Buy was at fault here, and their installers. I will never buy one more item from them. But I have a Viking stove and Ive had it for more than 28 years. Ive been very happy with it.

We did our brand new house so we had to do an entire kitchen and its the last kitchen well do so we wanted something that we felt would last. We had heard that there were issues with Viking as far as repairs but my husband really wanted a Viking. There was some issue with registering the product and for some reason, the cards never reached them but when I had to call, the lady from customer service, Charlotte is the kindest, most patient and helpful person. She was magnificent and very empathetic. We also had issues so early on which was a little disappointing. I have the Double French-Door Oven unit and there was a 100-degree difference. However, theres not a lot of people who service Viking in my area and it took four weeks to get someone out. But the person who came was extremely helpful, nice and professional. I liked him a lot. He fixed it so that was okay but then we had an issue with the oven that was under the range and he got everything taken care of at once.I also wish Viking would reconsider what they put around the burner range to be a more durable, washable and scrubbable type of metal. Because if you try to use an abrasive, you wear off that surface and Im a bit of a neat freak so it irks me a little bit that I cant keep that ring clean. The repairman said once the food is on it, theres really not much I can do to clean them. He even admitted that it was a definite drawback. But the range overall is fantastic and my favorite is that it cooks very efficiently and evenly.

I love my range. It cooks much better than anything else I’ve ever had and that’s what I’m excited about. Viking has a good reputation and I was glad they were made in the US. I also like the fact that it doesnt have any electronic components. The other range I had before was a Dacor range and the electronic part of it just went out all the time. So I was just really happy with this one. The simpler, the better. Plus it lasts long. However, when I had an energy check, it was discovered that there was a gas leak. I then had a well-recommended company come by. That company thought that they fixed the problem at the connecting site in the back, but then the Energy Check people came back and it really wasn’t fixed. So they came out again and they said they fixed it but they really didn’t. They were just putting it tighter and tighter there on the connector where the tube comes in from the wall from where the gas comes. Then finally their best guy came out and he replaced the whole hose and said that the units fixed. However, I still smelled gas and Energy Check told me that I shouldnt smell that. I think the smell thing was there ever since I got the range and I dont know if its a defect. Also, I am gonna have to pay for part of it, which I understand. But I was really impressed that Viking came out and fix the problem. Therefore, I would have no reservation with buying a Viking Range.

The Viking refrigerator is horrific and I never would have purchased this product but unfortunately, it came with the house. It was a brand-new, unused refrigerator and yet we had nine repairs on it. The builder worked really hard to get a new one as replacement but it also broke down and, to make it even more insulting, that happened on the day of delivery. It got repaired that day but it’s already starting to show the problem with the frosting and the freeze so we are so done with Viking. I wanted to pair up all my products with the same thing. I was choosing from Viking, Wolf, and Sub-Zero, and it was a comparison between them. We chose Viking over the Sub-Zero line cause Sub-Zero has a dishwashing machine that has an interior that I wasnt completely satisfied with. In addition, Viking should also make a wine fridge so that my entire houses appliances would be a Viking. I have their range, the hood, and the dishwasher cause thats pretty much the only appliances that they offer. The range is good, but its burner tends to leave a lot of watermarks which is like a darkening stain. And for whatever price Im paying for them, it shouldnt be something like that. The appearance on the burner of a Viking should have been a little cleaner. The main effect that just blows me off. No matter how much I do, it looks like its dirty but its not. From my experience, I have heard of lots of people telling its gonna do that, and I already knew about it before I bought the product. I even asked the person where I picked it if there was any way to prevent it. I was told Ive got to replace it. I called Viking up and replaced the little lid. But the main thing is that it heats up all my food and I love that its flame. Its so powerful that everything just heats up twice as fast compared to a regular Sears product that I would have bought. I have a close relative that owns the Wolf line of the same exact products that I have from Viking, and I have used their products before I bought the Viking products. The Viking does everything like a commercial grade appliance would do but its not commercial grade so it does the effect for our household, in general. And it does work 20% faster with me cooking on a Viking than on a Wolf. But at the same time, the Wolf that I used was three years older than the newer series that most probably came out with the changes that they have. As for the dishwasher, its great and it matches all my appliances but I wish it was more fancy enough. If I have to pick a dishwasher all over again, I would have gone with Sub-Zero. Even though I didnt like the interior much, it is a little bit nicer in the features that Ive seen on the newer ones. Other than that, everything else seems fine and well-warrantied.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is okay. But I would have liked to have features that other refrigerators have and Viking does not, like an ice and water dispenser in the door. Also, the fridge has an ice maker that dumps ice in a tray in the freezer section of the refrigerator. If you pull out the freezer section, ice cubes in the back tumble out on the ground. I dont see that as being a positive feature of the refrigerator at all. Ive never had a refrigerator that tumbled ice cubes on the floor because the tray isnt holding properly. In the year 2000 my husband and I bought a home and shortly after began an extensive and costly kitchen remodel. We spared no expense and believing we were buying the best, we bought a Viking refrigerator. In hindsight, it was our worst decision. Almost from the very beginning we began having problems. The ice maker stopped working, the door accessories and drawers began to crack to the point that one of the condiment containers has a huge hole on the bottom rendering it totally unusable. Certainly not the quality youd expect from such expensive appliances. When food started spoiling we knew we had a big problem and called Viking for help. By then, of course, warranty had expired but they recommended a local service company. By the third visit with no resolution we knew we were dealing with an incompetent repairman and my husband, at this point beyond frustrated, practically threw him out of our home. We never got any satisfaction from Viking. And its incomprehensible to me that after spending thousands of $$$ on a beautiful, state-of-the-art refrigerator I am forced to make ice in plastic ice cube trays and keeping milk, cheese, cold cuts and veggies in my old GE in the basement because the temp is never cold enough no matter how we adjust the settings. Last night I opened the door to put something away and felt warm air. The Viking finally conked out. So, this morning my husband and I are debating who to call. And as I google Viking, I came across your reviews and, can I say, I am shocked by the hundreds of negative stories I have spent over 2 hours reading, stories so similar to mine. So now I dont know what to do. Do I dare spend possibly $1,500-2,000 in repairs which may or may not fix the problem or do I ditch the Viking and take the loss? One of our dilemma is that our kitchen was totally custom therefore the Viking is tightly wall mounted with molding and trim all around. Would I be able to find a non-Viking refrigerator that would fit the same dimensions? I am so angry. This is certainly not what one would expect from a company like Viking. I am open to join a class action suit.

We've had our Viking installed in November of last year and we have had several issues, but it they are all being resolved. The wall oven had a heating issue where it took too long to heat up. There was a panel that just got replaced this week, and that is not working. And then on the range, the glass in the oven door slid around a little bit. It took a while to get this issue resolved, but we have just found out they're gonna replace the entire range.

We had the range installed about three weeks ago and we love it. This is a Series 5 model and the one thing that we dont like about it is the fact that the knobs got that little blue marker at the top and we thought it would lit up when you turn it on to show that its on, but they dont. Its there just to show the off position. We do have the LED lights under the panel that come on, but youve gotta physically look at every knob to make sure that theyre in the off position to make sure its not on a really low simmer where you cant see the flames. They should put a light on each one of those knobs to show when you turn it on. Other than that, it’s performing well. We cook a lot on it.I looked at some of the other models that were less expensive. Some of them were half the price but then, I looked at the consumer reviews and the people that were giving it 4 or 5 stars were only about 60%. But the Viking Range was in the high 90s. Some of these other ranges look good, but according to a lot of the customers who had bought them, they didnt function properly. So that was the main driving force for going with a Viking.

We rebuild our house in 2006 and decide to get top quality appliance for kitchen. After 5 years we have problem when warranty was over. Refrigerator was not cooling. We spend $700.00. Few month after icemaker was not working. We call authorize dealer tech. They charge $500. Few month after that cold water dispenser is not working. After couple of year again all same problem. Now in 2016 again same it was not cooling. Water dispenser is not working one after other. So far we spend @ $2500 for repair. It is not worth to spend $6000 to buy this build in 48 inch refrigerator. We have another GE refrigerator for 20 years no problem at all.
