Product Reviews:

Im a general building contractor, so I research every refrigeration system I can find. I had an existing cutout where I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator from years past and the Viking box size was almost identical to the Sub-Zero that I removed. So far I like it very much. It keeps everything cold and crisp the way its supposed to, and its exact in the areas that its supposed to be and in the areas that its not supposed to be that way. Its an intelligent machine. I especially like the icemaker and the pizza box shelf at the bottom. Their products are good and as advertised. For the price and performance, Viking would be my number one suggestion.

When it was time to replace my range, I went with Viking because the other brands gave me a hard time. The rest of the range worked, when I got it, except for the infrared broiler. So, I registered with Viking and they sent service techs from R&E Appliance who were able to take care of the problem right away. It was a little disappointing that the range needed new parts right away. Other than that, the range has been working ever since it was repaired. I love the quality of the range and I like the way the lights light up across that I can see my knobs. Then the burners are on high right away when I turn them on, so I don’t have to fiddle to get them on high because they usually don’t cook low. Also, things roll out of the oven easily, so you’re not fighting against trying to pull it out.

Im sitting here frustrated and angry as my Viking refrigerator has done the same thing as the person who reviewed before me. As of the other day I heard a grinding noise and now my food was all thawed in the freezer and my refrigerator does not seem to be cold. I cant tell you the amount of times this refrigerator (in fact my VIKING trash compactor, gas cooktop and refrigerator) have been serviced over the years. I would never purchase another VIKING appliance based on my experience. I know the repair folks are happy for the business but each time they come out I cringe as VIKING repair parts are as outrageously priced as their appliances!

I went around to a lot of different stores, saw the different functionalities and I liked what Viking had to offer. The range has a great quality. I like the burners, the burner heads, and the way that it looks. I like that youre able to proof the dough in the oven. I also love the French door oven option that Viking has. Their team has been great too. I had an issue with my oven and I got it resolved pretty quickly so I was very happy with that as well.

Admittedly I am an appliance snob. BUT I will not purchase an appliance just for the name. It needs to work well. I want to get my money's worth. This microwave is by far the best microwave that we have ever owned. We have had it for a month and everything we have cooked, warmed up or softened in it has been perfect. There aren't the usual hotspots that are in most microwaves. Even microwave popcorn is fluffier and has fewer un-popped kernels than our other microwave had. I truly LOVE this microwave!

Our Viking range has been really good. We did have one small problem with it very shortly after owning it. Two of the burners wouldnt light. But they quickly got us in touch with somebody to come out and replace the igniters. The person who they had come out and service it was awesome and had it fixed really quickly, but he said, “I just dont like how one of these is lighting. Its still lighting fine, but I just dont want to leave here and say it’s fixed. And then in three months, you have another problem.” So, he came out a second time, even though it was working when he left, and replaced that igniter entirely. It was great customer service from them. The only challenge with Viking is totally esthetic. The only frustrating part is that the surface below the grates are very shiny black, and theyre the ultimate dust collector if youre not keeping on top of it.

We bought a complete set of appliances in 2014. After just four years of normal use, the water dispenser wont stop, the dishwasher display failed and the oven stopped working. When we called the authorized service technician, he charged me $264 just to tell me that some parts need to be replaced and all of them are not covered under the extended guarantee. Just to replace the control board of the oven will cost me more than $800. Also when called the customer service to get a clearer explanation about what is covered and what is not, the representative failed to explain where it says that the control board of the oven is excluded. We are very disappointed with Viking, we bought these appliances believing that they are better than less expensive brands but turns out that they lasted less than our previous appliances and the customer service is far worst. Sorry Viking, but this is not the way to keep your customers faithful to your brand.

Viking 48 Built in Refrigerator recall and problems - Ive had this refrigerator for 10 years and had custom panels to match our new kitchen cabinets made and install without problem when we bought it from the Great Indoors (now out of business). Shortly after, Viking had to replace a faulty compressor. Then a few years ago we had a recall for door hinges needing replacement, which they did.Last year it stopped cooling properly and I paid $350 to fix leaky refrigerant problem. Now, door recall number two happens (class action lawsuit). We were given the option to fix or replace the unit with a new one for a reduced cost of new. We chose a new one but wanted one that would work with our custom door panels as the first one was. I was told by a Viking recall rep that some modification of the panels might have to be done by an installer at our cost and I was fine with that. I ordered the refrigerator through the Viking distributor, Lakeview in Elk Grove, IL and was told 4-6 weeks. It took two months. The original service manager left company during this time. The refrigerator was installed and the installers said the original panels cannot be made to fit as we were told. An estimate of $2,000 for new panels, plus there were no handles so add that to additional cost I wasnt expecting. 4 calls to Viking customer support over 3 weeks and no help, just excuses and theyd have to listen to call records to see whose fault it was why this wont work. Lakeview was also contacted and I had to keep emailing/calling them to get help and they said it was in Viking’s hands but nobody took the effort to call me and keep me informed. I called Discover and filed a dispute to halt payment. That working for 3 weeks until Lakeview responded to Discover and said there was no way the panels would work because the owner customized the doors for the panels and that was not true. Both Viking and Lakeview knew my original model and serial number and should have been aware that the old and new units were not the same. Viking customer support called yesterday and left a message saying its not their problem that I ordered the wrong refrigerator. Now, I have a refrigerator without panels, no handles and to add to the ** is this $10,000 refrigerator has been freezing all my vegetables in the bottom keep fresh drawer! Bottom line, stay away from Viking!

Four years ago, I used to deliver the appliances myself and I fell in love with Viking Refrigerators then. I like the looks and convenience of use. However, the situation I have now needs to be rectified. The old refrigerator I have was a great quality. This one now is working great but the door grinds and doesn’t open and close properly.I’ve contacted the store and they sent somebody. Then I contacted Viking Refrigerators because it’s not an installation problem, it’s a problem with the refrigerator. And they sent somebody out to the house a week and a half ago and I have to hear back from them. They said they had to order parts. The product was installed on January 3rd. I contacted them on the fifth and the problem has yet to be rectified. They could have been aware that it is a warranty issue and they should have fixed it immediately. Viking Refrigerators needs to respond better. It was an issue trying to get in touch with somebody but when I finally got somebody, they were very good and they were trying to work with me. Overall, I would still recommend them.

Viking creates a great product that is sturdy and outperforms other high-end ranges. After buying a Thermador Range that underperformed at every turn and which seemed to be made out of low-quality steel which caught on fire due to a door switch issue, we decided to buy a Viking dual fuel range. What a wonderful experience we have had not just with the product but also with the customer service, which was sorely lacking with Thermador. Thanks for making a superb product!

Viking Designer Series Electric Oven Panel Decals / Labels are completely faded. We clean this oven as directed by Viking. After time, the decals completely vanish leaving no indicators whatsoever. Viking acknowledges this problem but they will not do anything. In my point of view, this should be something to be recalled whereas the manufacturer has encountered issues with the quality that should be resolved.

I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven that’s hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. It’s a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, I’m happy.

We remodeled our kitchen and have replaced all of our appliances with new Viking models to include: a 6-burner, 2-oven range; a 36 built in freezer, a 36 built in refrigerator, 2 dishwashers, a microwave and a double electric oven with French doors on top. I have had problems with not one, but ALL of my appliances within the first two years of owning each of them. The problems that were covered under warranty eventually got fixed, but the service provided in Rancho Santa Fe by the southern California servicer recommend on the Viking website (Executive Appliance), has been slow and unreliable. I was without a freezer for two weeks and only got it fixed because I repeatedly called them to chase the electrical board part and their technician (after losing several hundred dollars worth of food). The refrigerators hinge had a metal part that literally broke apart and fell on the floor. Again another, several week wait to get this fixed. Both dishwashers stopped working within the first two years and have been repaired and are working, but one has control buttons that constantly stick and the paint labeling the buttons is rubbing off. The electric oven does not heat evenly and the food at the back gets cooked faster, so you have to rotate your cakes and cookies or use the convection feature to minimize burning at the back. The small oven in my gas range does not work consistently, so I just use the electric ones now. So, if you intend to use your appliances regularly, I would advise avoiding Viking. Like other reviewers, its just a fancy name badge on your appliance, whats beneath is not well constructed or reliable. I am so DISAPPOINTED and will NEVER again purchase a Viking product. I cannot imagine how they will stay in business with such unreliable products. I am just furious about the time and effort Ive had to spend getting things fixed that are not even old. I guess I should have kept the very old appliances - - at least they worked.

I like the size and the design of my Viking refrigerator. But I had problems with it right out of the box. The door wasn’t properly aligned so they had to come out and adjust that. The drawers are self-closing and the tracks on two of them were damaged. One of the dairy compartments was damaged as well. Im waiting for them to replace those but it has been more than a month now. They havent been staying in contact with me either. I usually have to reach out to them. Ive owned Viking in my last house and I thought they would be just as reliable. But apparently, theyre not. How can it be? We thought made in America, we would get great quality. What a disappointment. The kitchen was remodeled 5 years ago. This past month, we had problems with both Viking products, the Viking range VGIC3676BS and the refrigerator. We are now out of Viking warranty. The NSI insurance for these products is a nightmare to deal with - a waste of money. They give you the runaround. The Viking range oven just stopped working, we think it is the igniter. It does not matter that when you call Mississippi, they speak to you with their Southern charm, you still have an expensive appliance that simply does not work! No one cares, not at all, because it is not happening to them! The fact that we bought expensive products does not matter in todays world. Anyone recalls the days when we had an oven that lasted 30 years? We are so disgusted with Viking. We regret spending the money for something that obviously was made with planned obsolescence in mind. Wish there was a way we could warn people about this company. I would like to put signs on retailer stores, buyer beware.

Spend over 20k for Viking Appliances, have had numerous issues with the refrigerator which they kept putting patches on until the wart he runs out and now the ice bucket and the ice maker is broken and Vikings response is always the product is out of warranty and theyre more than happy to provide phone numbers to call for service which you will have to pay out of pocket. Viking appliances are supposed to be high end products with horrible customer service. They also tend to break down a lot. I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I also like the look of it.

My overall experience has not been very good, not with the Viking range itself, but with the servicing and the people that I had to deal with. The door does not close all the way, so the light has been on for almost a year. This is pre-COVID and I’ve had so much trouble trying to get a service call. I was bounced between that it’s still under warranty and then it’s not under warranty even though I bought a service contract. Also, I kept getting passed between the service contract people and the corporate people, so I kinda gave up. The light is finally going out, but my point was that because the door doesn’t shut all the way, I don’t know that it’s properly heating the interior without the heat escaping. I’m sure it takes a screwdriver and a small adjustment and I would’ve been happy.

Have full Viking kitchen - dual-fuel range, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Difficulty in obtaining parts in Ireland, and would never, ever recommend Viking - anything - to anyone. All have had problems, but none more so, from day one, the range. Markers on dials rubbed off after months. Oven door has never fit flush and hinges squeaked/squealed whenever opened or closed. Often, could not open door parallel to floor. Finally replaced both door hinges - at astronomical customs charges for delivery from USA - only to find that self-clean function now not working. Self-clean circuit board described, variously, as no longer available to obsolete, do not have to maybe were getting new manufacturer but dont know how or when to sorry, no substitute recommended.Have begun shopping new/used parts, incl eBay, world-wide, spending hours of time without success. Have fabulously expensive oven that is filthy. In addition, weve had to replace 3 ignitors, our repairman discovered that instructions for wiring were actually reversed from positions described in manual (EU compromises?) and any part that costs US$100 direct from USA seemingly soars to more than 4 times that price once it reaches Ireland and our local recommended Viking supplier. Never, ever again. I so wish Id found this site earlier.

And now Im waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it wont stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasnt functioned properly since. Ive had Viking in a previous home 15 years ago. At that time, I liked it better than anything else that was comparable of the professional series. However, theres one thing that some of the other ranges have that Viking didn’t and maybe still doesn’t have, and that’s different sized burners. My wife makes espresso every morning with the little Italian coffee pot, and all of the flame diameters are bigger than the actual espresso pot that were using. So we have to put it on the side and it uses about a third of the flame and two-thirds that has nothing. I know that some other brands have ones where the back burners are small. It’s the only thing that I wish was different. But I like that Viking is sturdy and uses gas.

Placed an order for Model RVGR33015BSS from Us Appliance. It was shipped by one carrier and brought to Denver. The order was then moved to another carrier for the trip to Trinidad Colorado. I went to the carrier and picked up the oven (we live in a rural area). Upon inspection of the box for visible damages I found none. I did not open the box. The box was unloaded at my house by me, and we took the oven inside... we noticed the door was open on the oven but when we got into the house we found that the brackets that held the outer door to the inner door were broken and the outer door was hanging by some screws. I notified US Appliance with pictures. They came back and told me that I had damaged the oven and it was my problem. I contacted Viking and my customer rep told me there was not much she could do. I was told because I picked up the stove at the shippers; it was my responsibility. There was no other damage to the stove. One small dent on the bottom of the front kick plate that was not visible. My wife and I decided to go forth and repair the oven ourselves. I had a local welding shop, reweld the brackets on the front door panel, we purchased a new piece of glass and reinstalled the door ourselves. FYI the spot welds that held the brackets on were at best way too small and the welds did not penetrate into the parent metal.I also noticed the oven would not light, so I took the cover plate off and inspected the spark for the oven part found the cover plate was installed incorrectly and the spark was grounding on the frame. I took the cover plate to my shop and increased the size of the hole by 1/2 and repaired the spark boot and it is working better. However I did notice the oven will not light from the convection bake position. I have to start the oven in bake and after it gets hot move it to convection (I think the fan caused a draft).Im disappointed in US alliance and will not do business with them in the future. We love our rebuilt stove. Serial number 111715C10200028. Im giving it two stars because I think the stove may have been damaged at the factory, and the stove could have been packaged better. It was placed on a pallet with flimsy straps. It is possible that the unit was damaged by a shipper but there are no marks on the box indicating a fork from a forklift got into the wrong place.

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. We have had our Viking stove for about 8-years (it was part of the home when we bought it) and if I couldve replaced it after the first year... I would have. Its an overpriced over-hyped piece of junk. In the first year, we had 4-service calls on it. The cooktop grates were unbalanced and wobble. When you turned on the gas to full high it smelled of gas. Two of the knobs cracked and broke within a few months. We ordered - more than once - new grates, some of which were fine... some of which still wobbled. In response to our complaint about the gas smell we were told just dont turn it on so high. I couldnt believe it! We had to BUY new knobs for a ridiculous price! We complained that the red light indicating the oven was always on. After trying to figure out what the problem was, we were told to just ignore it. AMAZING! We finally got an outside source to figure out what the problem was. He was not fond of Viking either! The configuration with the ovens so low, it is back-breaking trying to get anything out of there. The shelves dont glide smoothly in and out of the oven. And Customer Service is pretty terrible, as well. We get the impression that once weve purchased the thing they couldnt be bothered with us anymore. Overall, I really am quite disappointed that a company that sells such expensive tools for the home doesnt really stand behind their products. The new house I bought already had a Viking range and everything else, except for the refrigerator. I then bought a Viking fridge. All is great except with the ice-maker, which is annoying. Ive already had to have it replaced. Its a brand new machine, and every time I open up the door, the ice falls down. It is horribly designed. They should have figured it out. The ice machine is not one of those where you put a cup into it. Its just like a normal ice machine where one has to open up the door. So every time I open up the door, the ice falls down the back side and then I cant shut the door until I go down on all fours and pull it out from that.

The company is nasty and unconcerned whenever there is a problem... My side by side has been nothing but problems. The ice machine has been replace several times... and today the ice maker stopped working. The filter is changed every 6 months so its not that. The product is just beyond horrible. We purchased the large flat top grill... problems with that 2 times. Double ovens... havent had trouble yet, and warmer hasnt had any trouble. The dishwasher isnt even as good as my old Whirlpool... Over 20k in appliances and not even as good as standard crap on the market. Should have gone with Wolf like I originally wanted. The salesman talked me out of Wolf and Subzero for Viking! My opinion... DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I have a Viking kitchen. I've had a Viking refrigerator in my house for about 20 years. It lasted 18 years before I needed some work. And then, that lasted for another couple of years. I was good with it. It went bad, so I needed a new one. However, I'm rather disappointed that the warranty service happened. The issue was the fridge wouldn't hold temperature. It took about a month and a half. But the tech did a really good job. It has only been a month or two since the repair, but so far, so good. He added refrigerant. He couldn't find the leak. So if the leak is somewhere hidden, it would recur. I like the fridge when it works.

Weve already had three issues with the range. First, the wiring harness for the burners that they installed was wired backward so they came and fixed that. Then, the thermocouple in the oven was bad and it cycled way too frequently. It took a long time to get parts but its fixed. The third issue, which isnt resolved yet, is theres a warp in one of the panels. As the oven heats up, that warp kicks loose and we hear a bang. These issues should have been caught by decent quality control and they werent. But the oven works and I love it. I love how easy it is to clean and maintain and it cooks amazingly.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, Id probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. Im good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

We owned this place for seven years. After five years, we noticed that the refrigerator would hardly ever shut off and the alarm would go off daily, then it went up to twice a day. We were having problems keeping ice cubes. They would melt, would stick together, and then everything would have a lot of moisture within the freezer area. It got to a point we could hardly keep frozen items in there. A.B. May, the company we got a contract with who service Viking, came out, looked at it and said, “You don’t have a good seal. It could be where the refrigerator itself is a little wavy, so therefore, you can’t get a good seal.” He recommended I just go ahead and not keep trying to put parts back into it and fix it but get a new one instead. So, we did. We went close to a year dealing with the alarm problem. In the last six months, we couldn’t keep anything in our refrigerator while they were trying to figure out what was wrong. When we went and purchased a new one, they pulled the old one out and I saw this big, rusted-out area in the back of the refrigerator. I called Viking at that time and talked to one of the experts in the technical part of it. I asked him what would the cost be if it had this rusted-out area. He said, “It would cost you having problems maintaining the temperature in your freezer department, and you’d have more moisture in there. You wouldn’t be able to really keep anything frozen consistently.” I said, “Well, that’s exactly the problem we had for a year.” Nobody pulled it out to look at the back, obviously. They just looked to try and figure out what was causing with the seal, including the company that is recommended by Viking here.I passed that information on to customer service and I said, “Here’s what our problem has been. We had to go buy a new refrigerator because of this. The whole complex here has Viking in it, and our neighbors refrigerators are working fine.” So now, I submitted all that to the claims department and I didn’t hear from them. I sent another email asking customer service what is going on because I was told, it was passed on to claims. Somebody from claims then got back to me and said, “We need the photos you’re talking about. We need the service repairs.” So, I said, “Customer service said that was all passed on to you. It even had a service number. I have not heard back from them.” So, I’m not very happy with Viking because Ive not been able to get the response I need from them. Im to the point where if I don’t get a response, Im going to start posting those rusted-out pictures on social media. We have the double ovens, microwave, dishwasher, everything is Viking, that was why we went back with the Viking refrigerator again. I’m very happy with the new one. It’s working like it’s supposed to. But the problem is the old one. Ive had it for about 10 years. And for a year, we were very inconvenienced. At least I can get a goodnight’s sleep now. I don’t have to get up in the middle of the night to turn the alarm off. I even called Viking and wanted to know if there was a way I could disable it and they said no. They said that we can’t disable it. And the only thing we can do is if we leave for a vacation. They said, “You’re just gonna have to unplug it and it’s the only way.” Because we didn’t want it beeping all the time. It would drive the neighbors nuts. So, I wouldn’t rate their service very good, not from what I was being told.So far, it’s been tough even getting anybody to communicate back to me. Every time I called in and asked about what I could do, the customer service people would always transfer me to somebody else. But when we couldn’t keep the temperatures in the oven, A.B. May came out and replaced the circuit boards. They were great. We just recently replaced the hinges on one of the oven doors because it wouldn’t even shut tight enough to turn the light off. And when they put the new hinges on, it’s now working as it’s supposed to.

So far, Im very pleased with the Viking gas range six burner that I purchased. I like the reliability of the range. As far as the oven, I like the quality and the fact that when I open one of the French doors with one hand, they both open. My only concern was the knobs on the range didn’t match the French door oven. The French door oven has the stainless knobs and my range has dark, smoky, shiny knobs. I was trying to get those changed out and I was told by my dealer that Viking wouldn’t change those out for me. Nonetheless, their reps were great. They did everything they could to help this be a good experience. So, I’m very pleased with them. I just wish I had better knobs. I would love to be able to change them so that they match.

Weve had the Viking refrigerator since ’07 when we remodeled the kitchen.
Weve had the Viking refrigerator since ’07 when we remodeled the kitchen. Unfortunately, weve had a number of issues with the unit since we bought it. The compressor went out within the first three years and although it was covered, the hassle of having a refrigerator not working was not desirable. We also had something else similar go out that we had to cover labor on. Then we had an icemaker go out and it got replaced. Then back in July, it stopped refrigerating. We had a leak in a tube for the Freon. This tube system had a little pan that had water in it so it corroded and that was where it leaked. So we had a guy come in and do a repair on it. But that was only a temporary repair. In August, it failed again. We realized that the unit was still covered for parts although not for labor because it was a six-year parts and labor then a 12-year parts warranty. At that point, the refrigerator was just under 11 years. So we called about having the part covered but the guy that we had through that one repair that failed said the he couldnt submit that to the factory because he was not factory-authorized. So I looked up an authorized repair center which was located in Wisconsin, about 60 miles away from us. But we were told that at that point, our warranty was null and void because the repair was done by an unauthorized repair guy and he did something that the factory would not have authorized. When we contacted Viking, they confirmed that the repair that was done, which was putting a sealer into some Freon, was not really authorized and it could cause other parts to fail. I also talked to two technicians and when the customer service person came back, they offered us a different unit, a brand new unit, at a 25% discount. But it was still gonna be a lot of money. Plus the new unit did not have some of the features we had. It did not even have a water dispenser. Then I contacted this other repair guy. He said that he was pretty sure he knew what was wrong. He came back and fixed it, and its been working fine ever since. Hailey, from the unit factory, contacted us and she was a very nice person. My wife explained to her what had happened and that we were just gonna stay with what we had and see how it goes. So the refrigerator had four different repairs and the door ripped on it as well. There is no perfect but you would think some of these things would be more long-lasting than what they had been. The design is really poor unfortunately. While we like the unit, were disappointed with the quality of the high-end appliance that we paid a premium price for. We initially paid somewhere in the $5,000 range for it and the fact that it has gone out so many times is disappointing.

I like that Viking has a gas range and its large enough for the six burners that I have. I knew about them through word of mouth and after looking online at different options, I chose to buy from them due to brand recognition and the more commercial look of their ranges. When I called Viking, their reps were very helpful, easy to deal with, and immediately helped me register my range so I could get the process started in the repair that I needed. I’ve had a couple of issues but they’ve been addressed through the warranty. They referred me to a local appliance repair company and theyve been responsive. It took a few weeks to fix the issues and there was a back-and-forth on getting the right parts in, but there had been no extraordinary delays. Currently, there’s still one remaining item for repair and they’re ordering a separate part for that.

We did a kitchen remodel in 2005. Just like all of you, we thought we were buying the top of the line appliances. We have replaced the hinges twice, the freezer seal, the icemaker three times, had water flowing out of the corner of the bottom freezer, the alarm going off constantly, and now - a refrigerant leak. We were told that it is a ten-hour repair for two repairmen - approx. $1800! We are going to buy a new unit this weekend, and you can bet that it will not be a Viking. If there is a class action suit....count me in!

The construction manager who helped us through the renovation recommended Viking and I was familiar with the company itself. As a profession, I have dealt with them professionally for hotels and restaurants. I knew the brand and the quality has been very good. However, I have issues with the dishwasher because it takes two hours to do what a normal one does. Also, the keyboard is not customer-friendly. There are a lot of buttons to push and usually, it takes a while for it to get to the program it needs to be washed. On the other hand, I love the refrigerator, oven and microwave. I wish the ice maker is larger but everything I have is good and I just have to master using the dish machine. The Viking dealer did a great job. They walked me through, helped me to get a credit line and delivered when they said they were gonna do it, so I was very pleased with them I appreciate everything Viking has done and I will recommend them to friends.

I wanted a Viking range for decades, so every time I looked at commercial-type ranges, it was usually either Viking or Wolf. But, Viking has always been the commercial style range that I wanted, but I put it off for years and years because I wanted the double oven size with six burners. Then I realized that to get the one I wanted, it would involve remodeling half of my kitchen to make space for it. So, I finally decided that, instead of putting it off because of that, Im just going to get the 30-inch one, so it would fit into the existing space. And so I did and Im happy. I bought ours at Colders, a furniture store, and I worked with someone who specializes in Viking ranges. It is an authorized dealer.Ive always had electric ranges my whole life. And one of the things that I havent liked in the past about gas ranges is the gas oven. Id prefer an electric oven and a gas stovetop. And now that they make dual-fuel ranges that are the perfect answer for me. Also, I just like the ruggedness of it. The hole that you put the pots on, theyre like army tanks. Theyre big, heavy, iron grates that are just so well-built. And the whole thing is heavy-duty that can last a lifetime. I like the simplicity of it, too. The electric range that I replaced was all digital. It had all kinds of extra digital features that I never used. This one has mechanical knobs, and everything works perfectly. However, the caveat is theyre expensive. So, you really have to be dedicated to cooking. If they were cheaper, I would have bought two. You really have to want that kind of a range before you are willing to spend that much money. Other than that, from the performance and quality of the Viking, it is 5-star all the way. It would be my top recommendation for a commercial range.

The motherboard of our last Viking fridge died the first two weeks we owned it. The fridge was a lemon from the get-go and we spoke with Viking and they said, “No, it doesn’t need replacing. We’ll replace the motherboard.” Unfortunately, it was a lemon of a fridge. We’ve had at least seven issues with it and the week before Christmas, it just gave up and that was weeks after having it repaired. I went with Viking again this time because the built-in fridge had to be the same size to fit in the box, the old Viking location. Their rep was unbelievable. Since it was before Christmas, they gave us a loaner at no charge and he did his utmost to find us a replacement fridge so that we wouldn’t have to reconstruct the box. He found one in the States but it cant cross the border because it had the Viking nameplate on it. In Canada, it’s called Brigade so we ended up having to pay $2500 more. The rep did everything. He called and said, “They will not allow the one to go over the border and now this one in Canada is going to cost $2500 more.” I said, Okay this is now a scam. He said, “Absolutely not. You can cancel your order. You can keep the loaner fridge however long it takes to find a fridge.” He was very good. So far, the new Viking fridge has been in for two and a half weeks and it has been fine. It is super bright compared to the old one and I like the feature where you can put a pizza box or platter of food. We purchased one in December and it was installed in January.

I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48 range oven. In the past 5 years Ive moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address. My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks. The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. Ive always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. Im confident that Im not the only consumer whos experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And Im also confident that customers whove spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

I had a Jenn-Air range but I didn’t like the way it cooked on the gas. A couple of my cousins and family members have Viking ranges and I also researched on them. I liked the reputation that I read about them and bought a few things - a range, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. The Viking range is much better. It cooks much faster. It’s of good quality but the only thing I’m having a problem with is the grates in the oven. I can’t get it in and out easily. It sticks. Also, they didn’t explain clearly that I bought the non-self-clean oven. They didn’t go through everything for me. They didn’t tell me the ins and the outs of each of the ranges. I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

Ive been cooking my whole life and my parents had a couple of Viking Ranges. I went with them as well because of the quality and a specific offering that they had that included a free dishwasher. The range is excellent. I like the simplicity, the quality, and the ability to rebuild, repair over time and the lack of any real computers and microprocessors. But I have never been more disgusted in the service that I received from a company, let alone one that Ive just given $5,000 to. I interacted with tech support a couple of times. The individual I was talking with was mumbling into the phone and acted like he was doing me a favor for helping me. He acted like my questions were completely ridiculous. When I talked to somebody at a call center in India for an appliance I bought at Home Depot, they treated me better than this. I had to tell him to put me on the phone with a different tech support person but they have no further help. I talked with people in the parts department who told me I was incorrect with regards to where the data tag was for where the serial number and model number were. It was an all-around garbage experience and they will never get another dime of my money.Ive since talked to other owners of Viking products as well as some technicians and they say that this is a common trend. I have written Viking and theyve not gotten back to me. Quite frankly, my next purchase will not be a Viking because Ive never encountered such pathetic treatment of a customer, especially one who thought they were buying a luxury brand which would come along with the support. Ive just convinced somebody not to buy a Viking as a result of this because that is unacceptable to me.

Viking is a well-known name in the industry and their range was the highest and top of the line range we can use without a direct overhead exhaust. However, we didnt have a good experience with it. Every time the exhaust fan came on, it vibrated and made a terrible noise. It was intolerable. Their service guy said it wasnt leveled but it was leveled fine when it was installed. Nobody could figure out why it was making the noise when the exhaust fan came on. I said, Obviously, somethings loose. Its vibrating. And it took them seven trips, two different service companies, to figure out what it was and it doesnt do it anymore. It was very frustrating on our behalf. Wed probably not buy their product again because of that. It was also delivered with a broken grate on top too. I had to go into the showroom and exchange it for the grate they had on the display. From day one, when it was delivered with a broken grate, right away I was upset. If I spent $500 or $1,200 for a range, Im okay. But it was $5,000 so Im expecting something to be worth $5,000, not a vibrating thing that was making noise. I have a service contract that I paid another $500 for so they have to come to me. It looks beautiful and it works great now, but the first year and a half was a disaster. And Im not quite sure how they fixed it and if its gonna hold up long enough. It was probably dropped or mishandled during its original shipment from its factory to its final destination that was why these problems came. Till today, its working fine, but Im not happy with the whole experience and would definitely not recommend it.

Not to sound silly but living by the water made me choose them over the other one. They did such a great job I wanted to let others know. They went through all of our appliances with us, I feel like we got a lesson instead of a service call. I saw a lot of bad press about Viking, I no longer agree with most of it. We now understand the reasons why our range was built as it is and now that were are using it with our new found understanding, our level of joy has gone through the roof. Remember the internet is full of people who have had issues, most people forget to say the good things as well. I would buy a Viking again and if it needed service I know who to call.

When I moved into my house, it had a Viking six-burner cooktop which I thought was very well-done. It was enamel, not stainless steel, but was much sturdier than what I have now. I was impressed with it but its been there a while so I wanted to replace that. We redid our kitchen about five years ago and thought I would use Viking products. Thats how I started looking at the other matching pieces. I do a lot of cooking but the quality of what I purchased is not the same with what I had before. In hindsight, I wish I had just kept the Viking cooktop and had gotten double-oven in its place from somebody else. The stainless steel on the cooktop scratches. Ive already had to replace the grates once. Then the temperature on the double oven wasnt getting correct because the hinges were not strong enough. They had to be replaced to the tune of $400. Even after that was done, I still had to have a repairman come again to calibrate it correctly.Aside from the cooktop, we bought a Viking refrigerator whihc we picked in particular because we have space constraints and it worked well. The only thing I like in the new configuration of the model I have is that theres extra shelf at the top. Its very small but Im a baker so I put my pieces right in there to cool in the freezer. But the quality is horrible. Ive had several other refrigerators with which Ive been far more impressed with. The plastic inside is poorly designed in that the butter dish slides open when the door opens. Now, theyve changed it and within days it dented my initial fridge. I also had to replace an internal part as one of the drawers cracked. My first fridge had an ice maker problem and then the compressor went.I went through many months of badgering Viking to replace this thing. The Viking team members have been respectful but not timely. If I hadnt been a diligent pain in the neck, nothing wouldve happened. I had to keep contacting them before they had somebody come. When they contacted a person and I never heard anything, I contacted Viking again and finally got an email that she had left the company. But there was no follow-up.I finally got a new fridge and the people that Viking contracted with to come out were very helpful. When they came out, I spoke to Sally from Viking and wanted to verify that the trim kit will fit in the unit because I spent nearly $1,000 for the kit to make this thing look built-in. Sure enough, the contractors who came forgot the kit. So they came back again with it and only was able to put it in on one side. I then had to call a carpenter and pay out-of-pocket to have it replaced. I then called Viking again who ultimately recouped that fee for me and made me whole. But then again, the ice maker doesnt work in this new refrigerator. The repairman that Viking contracted with from Dillon Appliance came out this week and said that it doesnt function. So Im very disappointed. For the amount of money and time Ive spent on this, its crazy. I shouldnt have to have a part-time job tracking down Viking. They should do what theyre supposed to do. First of all, they should produce a good product. And second of all, Ive dealt with all these different people to have these things repaired and still have a refrigerator that doesnt have a working ice maker and this is my second fridge. And I was out of a fridge for five weeks. It was a long time and I have four kids. I have a backup fridge in the garage but its small. Nobody at Viking really seemed to be worried about this or really apologetic that their products shouldnt break and theyre very sorry that my compressor completely went under five years.I would never buy another Viking product. Its not worth the money, especially the refrigeration. Its like any other refrigerator and they slapped the Viking logo on it. Thats actually what the guy at Dillons told me. Theres nothing exceptional about it. Then Ive been somewhat pleased with the double oven except I had another double oven for years and never had to replace the hinges. Four and a half years in, Im already replacing hinges which is not exactly what I wanted to do. But I needed to retain the heat. Its a very disappointing experience. The product is by no means worth the amount of money I spent on it. The value isnt there.

Just purchased a Viking refrigerator on Dec 15th 2018 and already have had to call for service. The very loud popping sound is annoying. The repairman couldnt do anything about it because it didnt make the noise while he was here (needs to know exactly where is coming from before he can make a diagnosis). I will continue to call until the problem is fix. After reading some of the reviews it looks like other problem. Does anyone know if theres a lemon law on refrigerators?

There was not a Viking dealer close to me in West Virginia. So I bought a Viking gas range in Maryland and I paid to have it shipped. I had it for a few months now, but the oven quit working. I had it repaired five times and every time it died, it was the same part. Finally after about a year and a half, Viking offered to give me another range and another warranty. I got the same model but a year newer. They had the rollers on it where mine didnt. I used it for six months but the oven quit working. It was repaired twice, but what they decided after the second time was that it needed what I call a torpedo fan that would come on when the oven got hot and blow on this little electronic part that kept dying. It was repaired once after they put the fan on and in June of last year it died again. After about a year and a half, the store that was sending a repairman to me from Pennsylvania went out of business and all of a sudden I didnt have a repairman that could come. So Viking made arrangements with Bridgeville Appliance in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to come and service. Each time that I had a service, I called up and then in two weeks the guy had come and sometimes hed have to order a part. The guy came from 15 miles away and when he looked at the stove, he had no idea how to attack it. I dont know whether they paid the guy or not but it was under a warranty. When the second oven died last June I told them, I absolutely wanted my money back and they did not offer me that. I told them, I do not want the same model. Ive had two and neither ones worked. They then emailed me and I talked to somebody in Mississippi. They finally put me over to somebody who offered me four models. I told them, I would be willing to pay a normal fee to upgrade but I wasnt going to pay the full price. I chose a gas top with electric oven and it was finally installed last December. So its been six months without an oven. Right now, the oven is still working but I havent used it a whole lot because Ive kind of got away from using it. But Its been almost three years playing with this.Viking honored their warranty but the first product I bought was not even self-cleaning. It was a basic stove and I dont think they had enough installation around the oven to protect that because that electronic part sat on top of the oven underneath the burners. And when they had to repair, they took the top off, different repairman did different things. After four or five repairs, you get a little disgusted. They kept telling me that I was the only one who had the part was dying. But that didnt make sense. There should have been a recall. When they put that little torpedo fan blowing on, I could hear the little fan go on.When they brought this last oven, there was a $6,900 and some dollar price tag on it and I only paid about $4,000 for the first one. So, they really upgraded me. Ive got really good service with the repair, except sometimes, getting someone here took a time. Each time the oven broke down, I had at least a month or six weeks without an oven. I was more without than I was with an oven. So I would not recommend this product.

We initially looked at different models and ended up getting a better deal with Viking. Everything we bought came in with the package, which was nice. The dealer tried to work with us to get the best deal. The conventional oven in the gas top works great as well as the broiler, but unfortunately, the convection part of the oven doesnt work so weve had to put in a service call for it. Its a little disappointing since its brand new and thats an issue. Additionally, since that supplier is out of state, we took a couple of days to find out who could supply the Viking range. I had to call them back and then they gave me the name of the supplier, then the supplier took a day or two just to have them call me back. Luckily it was close to the area that we were, but the rep was getting calls from people from New York and other states so not too many people service them. Overall my Viking range looks great and I had great interactions with the people, but theyre lacking in servicing.

This is my third time having a Viking fridge. This one is a little better. I spent a lot of money to get it right on the third time. Thats a little disappointing, but we are happy with it this time. On the first house, the ice maker was always broken. It cost me $300 a month on an average for many years. Got here to my second house, and the ice maker frozen in the bottom. It cost me $300 a month. An ice maker shouldnt be that expensive. Its a very inexpensive part. So, hopefully, we got it right this time. We got our new refrigerator at the first of the year and everything has been going pretty good. I really like the space. The Viking dealer was excellent. They really knew the product and what they were talking about. We had such a bad taste in our mouth that if it had not been for the vendor, we would have not purchased Viking. I would recommend Viking. But if it had not been for this new refrigerator and the new vendor, I would have said, Im sorry. Im purchasing somewhere else. Im purchasing something else. A Sub-Zero is what we were looking at and the new vendor made a difference.

We have the Viking refrigerator for three years now and it is a good quality appliance. But I was surprised that within those years, there was some water leaking from the freezer and then the refrigerator was broken. But the Viking team was very helpful and someone came here and fixed it. Other than we have to have the service, its door has more spaces compared to other refrigerators and they have a bunch of options. And we can also cool fast with it.

We built our house two years ago and put in over $60,000 in Viking appliances double over, two dishwashers, stove top, microwave, outdoor grill, fridge, and under counter fridge. I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. Last week when my one year old daughter opened the door of my under counter fridge, the whole door fell off and landed on her leg, trapping her under the 70 lb door. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. Do not buy Viking appliances. They are defective and Viking will not stand by their products. I have contacted a lawyer and am going forward with legal action.

I read the review from C of Cleveland, OH Nov. 21, 2019 and decided to provide my own feedback. We installed a Viking Double Oven over 10 years ago and it stopped working correctly after 3 or 4 years. We havent been able to use the lower oven for over 3 or 4 years. It keeps giving a cooling error, then stops working. The Birmingham Viking certified service people have replaced several parts including the control panel. Now Viking is trying to say that it was installed incorrectly which is total baloney! Just an excuse from Viking to get rid of us. We made SURE the contractor and cabinet builder followed the specs when it was installed and the installation was approved by the Viking Dealer. So this $6,500 unit can’t be repaired? Spend a third of the price and get the same quality with another cheaper brand!

It cant even hold a magnet so its a stainless steel look but its not. The original was sturdier and the inside shelves were more metal. This one seems to be plastic. The freezer part is a lot of plastic. It doesnt have the durability of my old one. Its a cheaper made Viking although I like the sleek look of it.

Viking Refrigerators have a tough look. They dont have the look of a local GE but rather the look of a Sub-Zero Wolf, and I like it. Also, its quality is decent. The refrigerator that I purchased was only available in a French-door, which is a counter depth. I wish that option was available in a one-door as well. The shelves are movable. Its a tough refrigerator on the inside and its not clumsy. The freshness stays in there longer and things don’t spoil as quickly. But it is extremely overpriced and its so heavy compared to the others. The size could also have been a little wider.

We heard that Viking Ranges was one of the best but my wife and I dont feel that way anymore, and well never buy a Viking again. It was a terrible experience. We bought our range and had it over five years. Something happened to the temperature button so that we could only cook at 350 or above. They came in to fix that button and it was gonna be $1,000 to fix it.When they went to fix the button, they moved the stove and they said that on the bottom theres electronic wires that shorted out the oven when they moved it. The service people said it was a defect on the way they made them and now they make them with some type of insulator that protects the wires from shorting out. But thats not available to our range so we had to purchase another one, and we wound up getting a newer model that has that. But we had spent over $2,000 on the newer model that doesnt have a gauge that people can see the temperature on. We have to put something inside of it to see the temperature. There was also no clock on it. And It was more expensive than ours. Its ridiculous.I could buy something for a quarter of the price that I would be more happy with because weve used Wolf before as a higher-end unit in a lot of our rentals. Weve used much less expensive stuff which weve had for 20 years and we didnt have these kinds of problems. Viking is just a name brand and they probably shop out all their service and have no parts after five years on a unit people purchased. Its unbelievable. I dont know how they got their name but Im sure not from what weve experienced. Its just an oven and it doesnt do anything special. It cooks like everything else is supposed to. Name brands impress people. We could have bought a new oven from somebody else with the money we spent to fix our situation.

I always wanted a professional range. I moved to this house and they have a Dacor. But somehow, when the contractor from the home warranty came in to fix it, they screwed up. They messed up with something. The stove is too old so I had to replace it. The home warranty gave me the option to choose from. At that point, when I was going over some information, I found out Viking is a good stove and the price is quite reasonable for the amount that the home warranty was compensating me. I picked it not knowing that I will have this problem periodically. I have a sparkling problem with my stove on the right. When I turn it on, I always have to use the match to light. This is a brand new $1,000 stove and I dont understand why. Also, when I was reading the description, I wasn’t aware that it’s an open stove. Some of the stove, on the top, the water can overflow into the lower shelf all the way to the tray below.I also bought the Viking dishwasher and I found out the instruction book is not very well written. For a long time, when I try to press the button, the red light’s blinking. That means it has not started. And I keep closing it and opening it, and not until many days later, I called Viking. They said it was like a defect. I have to press it once then push it in. I cannot press more than once. But they don’t address that in the instruction book so people don’t know. We were fine with the dealer, however, we are still missing pieces of equipment, such as pieces of trim. We had someone from Viking come over and he supposedly ordered the trim pieces. Its been a month and we still havent seen him though. Then, theres a spacer between the hinged top when the door swings open that was broken. Poorly constructed. Gas ignition/temperature control does not work and has never worked. I purchased my range in 1997. Since then I have replaced the bi-metal gas valve 5 times and the two bake igniters 4 times and broiler igniter once. At present the right burner does not go on unless the gas valve is tapped manually with hammer or butt end of screw driver - so looks like the igniter or gas valve or both are no good again. Also, the oven door never closed evenly, leaking heat. It leaks enough heat to have burnt the exterior finish off the door. One of the oven door hinges has been broken for ever. The oven temperature is always inconsistent. The control knobs, since new have been loose with a lot of play in them. The oven floor is deformed/cracked from the heat of the burners. The wall panels are loose and sloppy and impact the sliding in and out of the racks. Viking does not offer, never has offered support, but rather will refer you to a service tech that does not understand how to get the gas range to operate properly. Dont buy it.

But I still need to figure out how to monitor the temperature to make sure it’s calibrated right because my baking seemed to be different than in the past ovens. It doesnt seem to be baking as quick. I’ve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a baker’s oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I can’t seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because it’s induction. I can’t seem to get used to it and I’m having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesn’t get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, I’m not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. It’s very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, it’s a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldn’t have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didn’t have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. We’re talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldn’t have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. I’m a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that there’s not much they can do.

I had one bad experience with their team at the dealer, but that was in-house and the general manager extended a conversation with us and took care of that. The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

I got a Viking fridge knowing that it was one of the more expensive, better products for kitchen appliances. The purchasing process has been fine but the appliances have not been that great. Within one month of moving in, the defrost sensor crapped out and we lost all the food in our fridge. There was still a warranty for it but we had to lose money. The problem was we purchased a home from a builder and it came with Viking appliances. So that stuff was out of warranty and the builder didnt cover anything. Based on what Ive read, I would go with a Wolf instead of Viking.

We bought a 6 burners, 36 Brigade gas range a year ago. After 6 months one of the door hinges got really loose and the glass on the door started to slide sideways. We called an authorized repair company to come and assess the problem. The decision was to replace the door, hinges, glass so they ordered a new door assembly. After 2 months they brought the door but it was a Viking range door and with a different liner color. They ordered it again and 4 months later they brought the exact same door! I dont know how they identify the parts but its obvious that the Brigade door does not exist. We have not used the oven for 6 months. It is scandalous to pay so much and not only to get a bad product but bad service too.

We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

My daughter-in-law has a Viking Range and I know that it performs well compared to other company. I love its very accurate cooking, the jets are very powerful and water boils quite quickly. Im just happy with the overall performance. Plus the Viking dealer was very thorough. Theyre just very straightforward and honest about things. They showed a lot of attention when I was there shopping and trying to find that information. Delivery was on time, everything was installed properly and the range itself performed very well.

We had a new $8000 refrigerator from Viking. Over 5 years we had it repaired 18 times. The refrigerator was recalled so Viking charged us half price for a new one about 8 months ago. This evening - all of the food in the freezer is now thawed out. The refrigerator is not getting cold. Youve got to be kidding. Even the replacement of the recalled refrigerator isnt working now after 8 months. We have an old GE refrigerator out in the garage that weve had for 16 years and it still works perfectly with no repairs in 16 years. So tell me, what is better, the EXPENSIVE OVERPRICED 8-MONTH-OLD VIKING - OR 16-YEAR-OLD G.E. that has never needed repair?

This pertains to Viking microwave RDMOR200SST over the range unit. Purchased 12/12/13, installed 12/26/13, broken 1/18/14, lasted less than a month. Being in the HVAC field, Im very familiar with many brands, reputable and not so reputable. I recently read a tech article about Vikings new owner (CEO) and it seemed very promising. Boy was I wrong and he has a quality control/customer service nightmare on his hands. I have dealt with many companies in the field and this is without a doubt the worst. $650.00 microwave and the micro switches I found in this unit I would not have used in my daughters $5 toy. Youre probably saying, Why did you fix this yourself, you voided the warranty. Have you ever seen some of these morons they call appliance repairmen? Believe me, I have and I wouldnt trust 95% of them. Problem - wife shut the door and the micro circuit tripped, reset, breaker held but the micro was dead. Dissembled (only takes 2 minutes) and noticed 4 micro switches mounted on a cheap plastic rack, one of the switches the plunger was stuck in the down position. Upon inspection, the contact of the switch was welded together. These switches are rated at 16 amps, there is absolutely no way this switch holds 16 amps, no way. This is a fire hazard and a design defect. I removed all four switches and replaced with Ormon micro switches and NO THEY ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA , they are made in Japan. If I would have had warranty service tech perform this, they would have used the same cheap factory switches and the problem would have been reoccurring and caused more damage to the unit. For all of you do-it-yourselfers out there, change all of these switches out with quality ones. This will solve the majority of your issues with this unit.

Three years ago we built our dream home and in it we decided to go high end
Three years ago we built our dream home and in it we decided to go high end on all the kitchen appliances. Our oven/range and dishwasher were both Viking. In fairness to all reading this...I love my Viking oven/range. I got the 48 version with 6 burners and a griddle and two ovens. The only thing I regret about it is I wish I had gotten a larger griddle rather than two extra gas burners. So, that being said, I could not be more disappointed in our Viking dishwasher. It NEVER washed the dishes well and drying the dishes was also a big disappointment. We paid over $1200.00 for a dishwasher that not only performs absolutely horribly, but also has started to fall apart. Within two years (of course it broke after the first year because it only had a one year warranty) the L.E.D. displays have already lost half of their lights. One of the folding dish holders in the bottom section has already broken. And this is with just my wife and I living at this home, and for the first year it was our second home.I did call the company I bought it from even though it was out of warranty to see if Viking may actually come through and take care of it, but was told that they wouldnt. Elite Appliances in Dallas is who we bought it through. When Elite gave me the name of someone who could come look at it, the trip charge alone was going to be $125.00. When I inquired what he thought the cost to repair the L.E.D. display...well over $400.00.I am in the real estate investment business and have remodeled well over 100 properties. Ive used nearly every major brand you can imagine and the Kenmore Elite series dishwasher that I paid about 1/3 of the cost of the Viking in our previous home was much more efficient. Let me clarify. The Kenmore worked. The Viking doesnt. Avoid them. Overpriced and under performing piece of junk.

A friend of mine owned a Viking range and I thought that I just had to have it. I like to cook and Viking was a higher end range. And since I was building a house, I had to get it now because I won’t be able to get it later on. I went to Cowboy’s Kitchens in Ridgeland and everybody was very accommodating. When I had a problem with one of the ignitions on one of the burners that wouldn’t light, they sent a repair personnel who replaced a part. They were efficient and Ive been happy with everybody. I love mt range too and I want to get the griddle that goes in the middle. Were barely 60 days in and Im looking forward to experimenting with my range. Im still tinkering with it and have learned that it cooks much faster than other ranges so it is more efficient and saves time.

My Viking Refrigerator has been great. I got it from Best Buy and Ive had it for several months now. I like its size and capacity. I called Viking weeks ago to tell them that my fridge is making a noise. They referred me to a local dealer and I left a message but they never called me back. Other than that, my experience has been excellent and I would recommend this appliance.

Stephen and I purchased a Viking kitchen package and the 5 year warranty in October 2010. We spent over $16,000.00 on your kitchen package. When the Viking range arrived we were extremely disappointed to discover the range rear panel exhaust fan was broke. Since then we have had repeated calls to the repair company for the same problem never to be resolved. The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking when at 425 degrees. The range will not go on until it cools down after 30-45 minutes. After the oven is turned off it makes a terrible loud noise. Our warranty has ran out and I will not pay out of pocket for repairs. That have been occurring since day one. I want my oven repaired as soon as possible. If no repair can be done then I would like a new range that works! This was November 2015, still have not received the fan. Range is still not working. Called repair center over and over they have not received the part and Viking does not answer the phone or call back after leaving messages. Viking has never back these products or been concern with our problems. We had many issues and repairs. Range is not used daily, should not have all these issues. Advise anyone looking at their products should take the time to educate their self on Viking issues. Sales man talk us out of Wolf and subzero. I should of stay with my first choice. Seem Viking dont care about your post seeing all the complaints listed. I wanted to leave no stars but I had to leave one before it would post.

I bought an upgraded Viking gas oven with the highest quality cooktop/burne
I bought an upgraded Viking gas oven with the highest quality cooktop/burners. I opted for this upgrade mainly for the burners and the self cleaning feature of the oven. The FIRST TIME the self cleaning feature was used, the oven door would not unlock! Evidently, the oven door locks when the self cleaning feature is activated to prevent a child from opening the door and getting burned. Makes sense (except any opening of the door while in use would result in burns). One would think that a distortion of a bi-metal plate would enable this locking feature. Viking, however, uses some electronic mechanism (some cheap piece of crap) which breaks down when exposed to heat! GENIUS! This mechanism evidently breaks down often and the Viking-recommended repair man suggested breaking the lock mechanism to enable opening of door rather than repairing since it would break again! HERES the KICKER -- THE SELF CLEANING FEATURE WILL NOT ENGAGE ever again because the self locking door is inoperable. PATHETIC. Viking should be ashamed of themselves. As in all these other reviews. Buyer beware. DO NOT BUY!!!!
