I’ve been using Viking for many years. The dealer was great and I had a pleasant experience. I have their range, hood and dishwasher. I like the overall quality of the range. I like that you have so much control over the gas. You can go very low and very high. Its also beautiful, very simple and masculine, and that’s what I love about it. I’m very happy with Viking.

I love to cook and I’ve always been impressed with the stuff from Viking. Ive always wanted a range from them. Some of the other brands dont meet my expectations. I got a Viking range lately and Ive had a bit of an issue with the burners. I’m out in the boonies so it’s on propane. But then, I don’t think the burners on the range burn evenly as I can get a higher flame on one side. Nevertheless, I love the six burners and the way the range looks. Its a convection oven also and overall its been performing well.

We purchased a new home and we told our contractor that we wanted Viking appliances since I had rented an apartment that featured Viking in the kitchen years ago. Price-wise, its reasonable and the quality is outstanding. I like that its very spacious. I had that issue with a refrigerator that I previously owned, as all of these newer refrigerators dont hold that much. I also like the new space for pizza boxes and party platters. But I was disappointed that there is no water dispenser in this model that I have. Also, for some strange reason, it makes a noise even though the door is closed, and its unclear why thats happening. Overall Ive been very pleased. Its a great combination of affordability and quality, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for higher-end appliances.

My husband used to own a countertop business and we were familiar with Viking Ranges and we knew it a little bit better than their competitors. The range is great. The only issue I have is with the Vent Hood. When its on high, it squeals and it sounds horrible. We’ve had people come out and work on it several times and they can’t get it right. They blame it on Viking and so they’re supposed to come back out and do some other stuff to it and they just haven’t followed back up with it. But, I enjoy the flat grill on my range and all the burners that I have. I also like that it heats up fast.

We’ve always known about Viking Ranges, and personally, I didn’t want to buy a Viking range because it was too expensive, but we did because my husband wanted it for the quality. Also, it’s made in America, which was a huge factor for our purchase. In fact, I wanted an Italian made oven since it was cheaper, but then we went with the American made Viking range. The people at the Viking dealer were good. However, there was a conflict between the brochure that was on the display and what was actually available. So, that probably needs to get tightened up. But so far, I love our Viking ranges quality. Weve been having an incredible cooking experience with it. Also, I like the look of it. It has clean lines.

A friend of ours purchased a range from Viking, and I heard a testimony of the people who told us about them so I went with them. The sales rep was good, but I didnt love the delivery team. The subcontract company from the store was a little bit on the unprofessional side and basically didnt have a rate plan for installation. They just winged it, quoted me a price and we had to do the whole Tijuana dealing. Then, they ended up not doing some good finish work on installation of the hood. They did a partial job. However, they didnt damage anything.

A Viking range was in the house when I bought it and I haven’t had a good experience with it so far. It cooks well when it is working but I got a knob that broke off and I have to get a burner replaced. Nothing but disappointment. Self cleaning safety device broke immediately after we purchased it. Both hinges broke on the door almost burning my daughter as it fell to the floor burning hot. Repairs cost a fortune and side note... decals that show functions wore away after a year. If you love cooking like my family and want a quality stove steer away from Viking. Do some research before you spend $5,000.

I’ve known of the Viking brand off and on for years. We were getting ready to renovate our kitchen and I like Vikings brand reputation. Plus there was a really good package deal that the store offered, in which we would get either a microwave or a dishwasher for free. The reps at this store were also knowledgeable overall and very accommodating. We’ve only had the range installed and working for about two and a half weeks and we really love it so far. It’s fast and very powerful. If you can afford Viking and are considering it, you should definitely get it.

Viking was the affordable choice and a better choice than some Maytag. Its got a quality name to it. Its the rep. However, there was a problem with the shipping of our Viking Refrigerator, and we had to get another one. The first one got replaced. Even the second one, the freezer door is a little loose. I didnt wanna deal constantly having to send it back. The handle was loose, so I tried adjusting the handle. It doesnt adjust anymore. But, its good. It works. We got it from Best Buy. They were nice enough to accommodate switching out the first one. They wouldve switched out the second one cause I wasnt happy with the freezer door being crooked and the handle being loose. The handle is still loose. We were able to fix the crookedness a little bit, but at that point, we needed a fridge. Our old fridge had crapped out, so I didnt have time. They werent gonna bring it till the next day. So, thats my only gripe. The product is not 100%. I wouldnt recommend this Viking Refrigerator ‘cause its a hassle.

Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

We were building a home three years ago, and I looked up about Viking, Wolf and other ranges and decided to get a Viking. I thought it was a top-of-the-line product and I liked the sleek look of it compared to Wolf. Im now on my second Viking since the one that was initially put into my home did not heat properly and it did not cook right since the day it was installed. So eventually, the door wouldnt close completely and that was under some recall type of thing. Viking ended up replacing the entire unit. However, there is only one repair service here in Columbus that deals with Viking as far as I know. I keep being told thats because Viking is either charging too much money and/or wont supply the parts and I would love to see some more competition rather than just one repair service that I have to call and pay their prices to repair a Viking product. I have a lot of friends that have Viking, and we all have to use the same people to repair the products.

When I was reading the reviews, there was an oven from Viking that was great for baking and cooking. And since I’m a big baker, I decided to get one. I bought it from Best Buy and initially, I bought it with the floor model which came completely destroyed. I was so upset. This oven costs $6,000 and granted, I got the floor model so I got a discount but it doesn’t matter if it’s the original price. It was a little chaotic but they were very nice enough to swap it out for a brand new one. The manager was very forthcoming to exchange my oven and everything was fine. The quality is great. I’ve only had it for two months now and it seems durable. The only thing I get a little upset about is that I can’t have my oven and burner on at the same time. When the oven’s on, the fan starts and it starts cooling until it keeps the temperature. Then, the air from inside comes out from the back of the oven and blows towards the burner. So when I have the flame on, the flame is not steady and it’s like putting a flame in the wind. It’s like boiling all over the place. I also called the company when my broiler wasn’t turning on, and they sent someone. I asked if they sell anything that maybe blocks the wind and instead of coming straight towards the burners, they’d be going upward. But their rep said there isn’t anything. I thought it was simple and I don’t think I’m the first person that had that problem.

However, its ice machine had not been working and Ive had to have it repaired three times in six months which doesnt make me happy though I didnt have to pay for the repairs. Vikings reputation stands out. Their price point was okay as well. We use the propane gas model. Their service has been good. We had a couple of bad items that came in with it, but they fixed it via third party. Ultimately they did everything they could. Viking sends out books that are probably inch-thick that tells us what to do. Less than a year ago, when we needed a new refrigerator, we were talked into buying a new Viking (as opposed to a Sub Zero that served us so well after many years). Worked fine for the first 8 months or so but 3 weeks ago we realized that our freezer temperature (and then the refrigerator itself) was going up. It got up to almost 70 degrees. We quickly put in a call to dealer who sold and installed our refrigerator. They could not get to us for 3 days because of the Memorial Day week-end. We took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator and took them downstairs to a little portable unit. The service tech called us back the next day and told us to turn off the refrigerator/freezer and leave the doors open for 24 hours. The unit started working the next day so we put everything back in it. The service tech came and told us to keep things away from the vents and that would probably do it. Refrigerator/freezer worked for another 5 days and then it bombed out again. Once again we removed everything and brought it to the small unit downstairs. Once again, it took 3 days to get the service tech back. He put in new control boards and said everything was fine. And again, with great optimism, we moved everything back into the unit.Last night, while making dinner, the upper vent in the refrigerator started making a loud noise. I immediately grabbed my phone and took a video. The freezer temp was already at 16 degrees and going up. Guess what we did? We again moved everything out! We called the service tech right away and sent him the video. He will be here in 3 days. Obviously we are extremely discouraged about this $10,000 unit. And I am extremely tired of running to the little unit downstairs everytime I need something. Give us back our Sub-Zero!!!

I purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2006 and have had nothing but problems. Weve had thousands of dollars of repairs including replacement for several plastic pieces for over $750. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. After the part was finally sent, they sent a customer satisfaction survey. Why they bother, I do not know. They have the worst product and service I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Viking product. Ive shared my experience with everyone I can to spare them my inconveniences.

The Viking Refrigerator that I got is great. Its everything I thought it would be. I like the bright lights, being able to change the configuration that it has. I like the more solid material. There is one thing I wish they did have that is not there, and thats a filter for the water that goes to the ice. Cause typically the water connections are behind it, and since this is built-in, its not like a regular fridge where you can pull it out and then change the filter. I had to run a line from my reverse osmosis system to go to the back, even though theres a water connection with the spigot built into my house behind it. But everything else has been great. Were pretty happy with it. It looks great and performs really well.

We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize the value of the appliance. When it broke and wasn’t cooling in the freezer, we looked and it cost $9,000 to replace, which was a shock. I would never buy a $9,000 refrigerator unless it was to match one that broke and it wouldnt have been my first choice by any means. I don’t think I wouldve ever bought a Viking appliance on purpose. Plus, theres nothing better about the refrigerator and its small for its size. We called a tech from Johnson Service last October and somebody came out. He said that it needed either an inverter or a compressor. One was gonna be 600 bucks and the other one could cost a couple of thousand dollars. Then he took off and we didn’t hear anything from anybody for a couple of months. We would call and ask if somebody was gonna come here and fix our fridge and they would say that they were still waiting on a part. That went on for a couple of weeks. We went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a refrigerator. We were calling them once a week to ask for an update. They said that the refrigerator was an expired model that Viking doesnt make anymore and that they had to make a whole new kit for the refrigerator, which was what was taking time. Finally, after Christmas, I called Viking directly and asked what the heck was going on. The lady said that that was the first she had heard about it, even though they were the ones that had initially referred me to call Johnson Service. The lady was helpful though. She got on the phone and started making calls to Johnson herself. The next day, I got a call from Johnson and they said that Viking freed up one of the parts needed and that they would be able to get over here in a couple of days to fix the refrigerator. A couple of days went by, but we still hadnt heard from them. Then finally, a week or so later, we got it fixed. It took 10 weeks to get the refrigerator fixed and we didnt get a deal. It still cost $650 to fix it. It was an awful experience. I would never deal with the refrigerator again. I would work with local stuff that I can get people to fix easier.

Wow. Im glad I discovered this site. It is somewhat comforting to know that so many other people have been totally screwed by Viking CRAP. My $10,000.00 Professional refrigerator is a total joke. The produce drawers freeze everything. The inside is fragile plastic and replacing parts is a nightmare. I talked to a carpenter just today about re-configuring the cabinetry that the Viking Professional (48 X 83) is built into, and replacing it with a normal refrigerator designed for a home. I also bought a double Thermador oven and 48 cooktop. I like it, but was told by the store that the appliances were purchased from that when things start to break on the stove, I wont be able to replace any parts because Thermador has an aggressive obsolescence policy, and you cant get parts after 7 years.I will replace the cooktop with a Wolf cooktop when it finally stops working.

Viking Ranges is one of the brands you’d look at if you’re looking for a professional-style range. Ive checked them out as I was doing a kitchen renovation. I’ve got a bit of an older model from them. It looks more clean and it’s not as fancy-looking. Its just simple, and I want it to work well and not look pretty. Performance-wise, I like how much heat it can put out and the consistency of that. It’s a lot more powerful. I like the high heat of it and also its ability to keep it below simmer. You can get it really low. Most ranges can’t hold such a low flame. The range has been great and I’m getting adjusted to cooking with it. One of the things that I think was a bizarre design of the range is when you have the oven on and it gets to a temperature, it cycles on and off. And it seems like it cycles rather frequently. It’ll shut off and then you’ll hear, “Tick, tick, tick,” and then it will all fire back up. I thought there was a problem with it, so I called Viking just to understand. From what I understood, the newer models have this glow bar, and it’s a little bit different. I think they fixed that but changed the mechanism. The Viking customer service were helpful and was okay. I had some problems at first when I got the range. When I was trying to get it troubleshot and have someone come out and take a look at something that there was a problem, it took them almost two weeks before they were able to get someone to me. That was just a little bit long, especially considering I just got the product. For people who likes to cook and can afford a range like Viking, I think it would be a good range for them to get.

10 years ago we bought a 42 inch side by side frig. Service and repair began regular visits from day three and it has been a terrible experience. There are too many issues to list here, but if any one cared I would be glad to share the rap sheet. The original dealer was Sewell Appliance in Sandy Springs, GA and the service company was Hadco. One of the frustrating issues was that many of the diagnosis discussions did not make sense. Cause and effect, symptoms and solutions, etc. are not always rocket science. Many ill-fated service calls have been endured. Once again, details available upon request. We have lost contents several times and constantly put up with. High temps, iced up element, overflowing drain pan, on and on - we now have a small back up fridge plus TWO $160 freezers to rely on. I have no confidence in the Viking fridge. Im surprised they are still made. I curse the day we saved $700 by not buying a Subzero. What do I want? I would like to have a qualified Viking rep look at my service records and admit that this is not normal. In the meantime, I would never have a Viking product and am seeking ways to publicize my opinion until Viking would step in for some sort of acknowledgement.

We came in contact with the owner of the company, and I was impressed with his personality. Hes a great person, there was no pressure as far as the sales, and he showed us around the showroom. Everything has been great. And if somebody would ask about Viking, Id say it is the best.

I previously owned a Viking when we remodeled my kitchen. I really liked the product, but not this time around. Everything that weve ordered, theres been something wrong with it. It took us six to eight months just to receive the product because it was on back order. And then when we received it, it was damaged. We had to deal with the company we bought it from going back and forth, and it took another four months to get the replacement. They kept pushing the buck. I kept getting transferred, making calls and I wouldn’t get a callback. It was poor customer service. I love the older Viking, but I dont like the new one. Its not the same quality. My old range was great to cook on and bake on. The one I have now sometimes turns on, and sometimes it doesnt. Also, my refrigerator has been down since before Christmas and the parts have not come. I had to throw all my groceries away. So, Ive had nothing but bad luck. I just finished talking to Viking yesterday to find out how soon I can get my stuff, and the gal was very nice and helpful. And shes pushing things forward, so I really appreciate that. But I would not recommend Viking.

My old Viking fridge was leaking and causing damage to the hardwood floors. Viking offered a 30% discount on a new model and requested a copy of the invoice after I made the purchase. They then changed their mind and offered a 10% refund instead. Still waiting for the check months later. Dishonest and disgraceful customer service.

I liked Vikings brand equity and overall integrity. The registration was easy and the quality of the range is great. The grill is great too and so is the uniformity of cooking. We love the product and were very happy with it. The entire kitchen is Viking - the microwave, dishwasher, range and refrigerator. Their functionality and style are also great. We had a small issue initially. We had a gas leak. They scheduled service which was a little further out than I wanted. Without me initiating it, they contacted another company and got them there even sooner. They were quick to send out a service tech and they rectified it. Overall, it’s a positive experience. Viking was very responsive and proactive.

Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. Go to Consumer Product Safety Commission (US), or Healthycanadians.gc.ca.

I bought a new home and theres a Viking Range in it. It took a while for me to get used to the idea of having a convection oven because I’ve never had that before but I like it a lot. It seems to be really good quality. But I’m not exactly enjoying the cleaning process of the surface on the top where the burners are. It’s got the grills under every burner and it’s not fun to clean all that if there are spills or things on top of the cooking surface. There are way too many little parts to clean and I was coming off of just a solid surface cooktop which was pretty easy to maintain. Other than that, I’m enjoying the gas. I like the fact that the burners light instantly and get hot faster than an electric stove. Also, when I had a service guy out from Viking for the door of my brand-new dishwasher that had a broken latch on the side, he played around with the oven, too. When it was running, the convection stops and starts, and stops and starts. I asked him if that was normal and he said yes. But he still made sure it was working right and tinkered with it a little bit.

I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. I just wipe it down and wait until Sunday to clean it.

Ive always heard Viking was the best and Im happy with my Viking fridge. But Ive had to have it serviced a few times already. The fans inside keep freezing up. Ive had to have all the warranty work done twice already and I don’t even think Ive been in this house three years yet. The first time they came out, they had to replace the fans and the second time, all of them were frozen up. But the tech was able to service the fans and got it working again. Im also happy with the customer service that the guy that I bought the appliances from is giving me. He puts me right on top of the list, takes care of me and keeps me up and running again. It is a little bit of a disappointment. I paid almost $18,000 but the guys from Certified Appliance were good.

Ive had my Viking range since June 2019. I had a previous high-end oven that came with the house that I bought, and when that oven was no longer able to be repaired under the warranty, I had grown accustomed to its features, and I wanted another one. And there are only a handful of high-end brands that has the same features, a Viking being one of them. I went with it being the lower maintenance and lower complexity quality brand. And I liked the style and the look of it. I don’t quite know if I’m gonna get the value out of what I paid for because they threw in a promotional free Viking dishwasher that we replaced my older, reliable dishwasher with, and it had nothing but problems, to which finally, it seems to have gotten fixed. And that has turned me off of the brand because I wondered, if the dishwasher had so many issues and seems cheaply-made, what’s the Viking brand for the range going to do down the road? My overall feeling is that I have enormous trepidation about spending the money that I did, and how long this unit is actually going to last without it costing me tons and tons of money out of out-of-pocket repairs once the warranty expires. But then again, maybe that’s their business model. Maybe that’s why I got this broken dishwasher so that I have to keep repairing it and spending money years down the road. That’s my mental state that I’m in on the Viking brand right now. And there’s really not much I can do about it at this point. So, I have to hope for the best. The other issue that I have is that there has been a concerning, unexpected behavior with the range where, sometimes, my wife or I will turn it on and set it to bake and to preheat, and we’ll come back to it 20 minutes later, and it has set itself onto the clean cycle and hasn’t heated up or anything. I actually ruined a couple of bread loaves that I was looking to throw onto the oven at that time and I couldn’t. And I had to switch it off, then on and then off. So now, I have to call the egregious Viking customer service and tell them that I have a problem although I can’t be sure. And it’s time and energy that I have to spend doing that, it’s rearranging my schedule for a repair crew. I wanted a product that works, and I’m not entirely sure I have a product that works well. I’m highly skeptical and feeling trepidatious about it. I have limited confidence that it’s going to continue to function like a new $11,000 range should for longer than a year or two. I’m living in the fear of I don’t really know what to expect outta this thing, and I don’t really know if you guys are gonna support me in my time of need for the amount of money that I paid.

Weve heard about Viking from friends since we moved to the US. The realtors also recommended them and told us that they were good for the reselling of the house. So, we went with Viking for their reputation and we bought a built-in refrigerator from them. We love its looks and the lights on the side, and how spacious and practical it is. A repair has already been done on it because there was a problem with the accumulation of ice in it, but that was dealt with promptly and professionally. So far, everything has been great with Viking.

Viking 48 Built in Refrigerator recall and problems - Ive had this refrigerator for 10 years and had custom panels to match our new kitchen cabinets made and install without problem when we bought it from the Great Indoors (now out of business). Shortly after, Viking had to replace a faulty compressor. Then a few years ago we had a recall for door hinges needing replacement, which they did.Last year it stopped cooling properly and I paid $350 to fix leaky refrigerant problem. Now, door recall number two happens (class action lawsuit). We were given the option to fix or replace the unit with a new one for a reduced cost of new. We chose a new one but wanted one that would work with our custom door panels as the first one was. I was told by a Viking recall rep that some modification of the panels might have to be done by an installer at our cost and I was fine with that. I ordered the refrigerator through the Viking distributor, Lakeview in Elk Grove, IL and was told 4-6 weeks. It took two months. The original service manager left company during this time. The refrigerator was installed and the installers said the original panels cannot be made to fit as we were told. An estimate of $2,000 for new panels, plus there were no handles so add that to additional cost I wasnt expecting. 4 calls to Viking customer support over 3 weeks and no help, just excuses and theyd have to listen to call records to see whose fault it was why this wont work. Lakeview was also contacted and I had to keep emailing/calling them to get help and they said it was in Viking’s hands but nobody took the effort to call me and keep me informed. I called Discover and filed a dispute to halt payment. That working for 3 weeks until Lakeview responded to Discover and said there was no way the panels would work because the owner customized the doors for the panels and that was not true. Both Viking and Lakeview knew my original model and serial number and should have been aware that the old and new units were not the same. Viking customer support called yesterday and left a message saying its not their problem that I ordered the wrong refrigerator. Now, I have a refrigerator without panels, no handles and to add to the ** is this $10,000 refrigerator has been freezing all my vegetables in the bottom keep fresh drawer! Bottom line, stay away from Viking!

I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.

We built a new home and bought a Viking refrigerator floor model through a dealer. I had a built-in before, and I was happy with it, so I went with that particular refrigerator. I like the built-in because it’s not deep and things don’t get lost in the back of the refrigerator. I love my Viking refrigerator, but I’ve had eight or nine service calls on it and the people who came and serviced it have been excellent. When the refrigerator arrived, there was an issue with water coming out of the bottom of the door, and they replaced that, and then it wouldn’t make ice or water, so they changed out a harness, the water pump and the icemaker. It makes ice, but after they put in the new icemaker, the lever stops when the ice fills up, so a part was ordered and the people are coming this week to replace that. The dealer has been absolutely awesome on service and responsiveness and their staff has come out and dealt with every single problem I’ve had. However, I bought an eight-burner gas range through Pacific Kitchen & Home and I would not purchase through them again. When the range was delivered, the door needed adjustment and it’s been a nightmare to get somebody to come out through Pacific Kitchen to service it. I had to reach out to Viking directly to get any kind of service and they’re coming out this week as well. Hopefully, once everything is all in good working order, it’ll be well worth it. I also have a Viking dishwasher, which is fabulous and Im very happy with it.

My Viking double oven is a piece of junk. It never properly worked. Ive tried several times to get the ovens fixed and even the repairmen say that Viking is having serious manufacturing problems all related to maintaining heat. My cakes come out in a wavy shape because the heat isnt evenly distributed throughout the oven. The oven is so bad now that it cant stay heated; Thanksgiving turkey wouldnt cook because the oven couldnt sustain an even temperature after an hour or so. My friend had a Viking range and I liked it. I like the look and feel of them, the professional grade and quality. Those have been questionable, however. The stovetop works fine but the oven never worked right and it took me a long time to finally get a service tech out. He came last week and ordered the parts, so I’m waiting for them. I bought the oven stove brand new online for $5,000, yet it hasn’t been working for a month and a half now. I heard and I saw consumer feedback bashing the maintenance support but despite that, I bought it because it was something I wanted. I figured it is high quality and it won’t need that much work, but it has turned into that already, so theres a little buyer’s remorse. I buy something high-end like that and I expect good service, and I havent seen that so its disappointing. I’ve since gone to Wolf and I checked it out, and their product support is over the top. If I had to do it all over again, I’d probably go with Wolf.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48 range oven. In the past 5 years Ive moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address. My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks. The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. Ive always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. Im confident that Im not the only consumer whos experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And Im also confident that customers whove spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

We bought a $9,000 refrigerator from Viking two years ago and we experienced some problems with it during Labor Day weekend. The freezer would work but the refrigerator part wouldn’t get cold. It was frustrating because we called the repair service but they didn’t have any record of us. So, we had to fax them the bill of sale and they said it would take three or four days for us to get into their system which was unacceptable because we had no refrigerator.I called them on a Wednesday and they arranged for someone to come out. But they were tied up Thursday, Friday and the holiday, plus they didn’t work Saturday or Monday, so it was Tuesday when they came out. They looked around and found that there was a part that was supposed to be attached to a cooling conduit and it wasn’t. Apparently, they didn’t do it in the factory. So, their reps put a new part and left. Two days later, the refrigerator still wouldn’t get cold. I called the guy again and he came out a day later and found out that the fan in the refrigerator part wasn’t working. He replaced the fan but the refrigerator part still did not get cold. So, we had to call him the third time. This time, he discovered that the conduit in the freezer was freezing up. They ordered the parts and it was going to be four days more before it came in. We were out of a refrigerator for a month and it was inconvenient. Finally, he put heaters in the conduit which they probably should have done in the factory when they made the refrigerator. It’s working fine now but I’m a little concerned now to be having all these problems. Fortunately, it was under warranty. But if something happens in another year when the refrigerators out of warranty, its on me. Those parts that they were putting in were quite expensive. Viking should’ve anticipated some of these problems. When you manufacture a refrigerator that costs that much money, you expect it to be working fine. I have an old refrigerator in my pool house that’s 30 years but still working perfectly and I paid $150 for it several years ago.

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. I bought my Viking microwave (which is really made by Sharp) in August of 2013 and have already had to have the door switch replaced 3 times. It is only Nov. 4th, 2013! Guess what, today the microwave quit working for the 4th time. The same thing happens as the last 3 times. I can reset the breaker and as soon as I open the microwave door, the breaker trips again. So, I have learned to put the food in the microwave, flip the breaker and heat my food. As soon as I open the door to take out my food the breaker trips again. This has to be some kind of joke. I paid a hefty price tag for my Viking appliances and have only had a working microwave for just over half of the time Ive owned it. It always takes at least 10 days for parts to come and then 2 days to schedule a repair man. So, for a total of 35 days or so since mid-August until now, I havent had a working microwave. Now my Viking stove has an issue after just a few months. The center burner constantly tries to light. The burner is on with a flame, but the ignitor is constantly clicking and sparking, but thats another review.

I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didn’t stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.

Since getting this very expensive refrigerator freezer we have had nothing but problems. Parts breaking, many service calls and repairs by a Viking certified company given to us by Viking. This refrigerator is only 6 years old but about a year after getting it we have had nothing but issues. We have someone coming on Monday to try to fix the current problem. They were out here 4 months ago. I am so frustrated and will never get another Viking refrigerator again.

My stove had a manufacturing defect and failed to work properly from the outset. The oven would not hold a temperature and could not be calibrated. It took weeks and many, many phone calls and threats to get it repaired. After many requests and escalation to Viking customer relations, Viking finally agreed to send the necessary part by overnight mail. However, they did not make good on this promise. The part did not arrive for another week. We were exceedingly unhappy with the initial defect and with the very poor customer service. We are long-time Viking customers and would think hard before buying another Viking stove.

Had two issues with my range. First, the grate feet have come off my grills. After much back and forth (6-8 emails) a link was sent to me to order on my own. Unfortunately the feet and link were not available to be shipped to Canada. As well my range was still under warranty. I emailed back for another option for a Canadian supplier and my thoughts that this would be under warranty. I had no response (still have not). Secondly, the motherboard and fan stopped working, less than a year old. The process (online) was great to set up a call, however the process of having the claim put through to a technician and to have the product repaired took over a month. I love the product, but would still like an answer to the feet. Thanks.

I went to a number of home shows when I was trying to build a house and talked to a Viking Refrigerators rep and a dealer. I went to about five more home shows and saw the same guys. I decided to make the purchase and so far theyre okay. However, it is not cold all the way. Sometimes the freezer ices up a bit. And then I had to make sure that ice is not stuck in the ice maker because ice won’t come out. The ref is great, but it’s having twerks. I reached out to Viking Refrigerators but they wanted me to register everything first and then call back. Also, the dealer was just all about the sale and after that, he kept having a follow-up and a follow-up. I wouldn’t use that dealer again. I’m still satisfied with my overall experience with Viking Refrigerators. Others would just have to make sure they get the right dealer and a Viking Refrigerators certified installer. That’s important.

It took a lifetime and a half to get the range because of COVID. Once we got it, it sat in the garage for a while while we waited for things to happen in the kitchen that were also delayed for a while. Then my contractor and I installed it with no difficulty whatsoever mostly because he knew what he was doing. The quality control of the range is great. Theres one little tiny nick in a piece of have stainless steel and weve got one of the burner knobs that sticks ever so slightly. The Viking range puts out ferocious heat so we find ourselves turning the gas down more than turning it up. But thats just a learning process. Were learning the tricks with the multiple things you can do with the oven. My wife is on a very restricted diet so she bakes with weird stuff rather than buying things that are baked elsewhere at the store. She loves that oven.

My wife and I purchased a Viking 36, four Burners, approximately 18 years ago. The range worked fine for most of the years. Recently the oven door started giving us problems, door would come off its clips, as it turns out the clips on the sides of the inner oven door are no longer manufactured. The oven door for this model is no longer manufactured. In short, we have a range that does not have a door. When you pay $5000.00 for a product, this should not be a large companys response. BUY A NEW RANGE. It will clearly not be a Viking.

The dishwasher we bought 3 years ago has been a disaster. This week, the start button fell into the dishwasher. Then the rocket scientist repair person (who is an authorized repair person for Viking) comes to check it, ends up ordering the wrong part because he thought that was the problem, after disassembling the entire panel. Now he says the correct part is backordered for 3 weeks at least. I called All Viking Parts.com and Viking and confirmed this. How is it possible that a $28.00 part cannot be found in the United States of America? Viking is SO proud it is made in the USA, yet cannot have a $28 part in stock. Also, when we bought our 3 viking appliances, they came with a 1 yr warranty. Now they come with a 3 year warranty..... must be due to the fact they are absolute pieces of jump. The stove, fridge and dishwasher have ALL broken. The dishwasher being the most to break. In fact, a part I bought myself and installed in the fridge, has broken.... again... literally within 2 weeks of installing it. NEVER BUY VIKING APPLIANCES..... NOT WORTH IT. I wish I would have listened to the reviews I read about Viking before purchasing.

Viking is got a good name and I liked the size of the burners. The range is dual fuel, which is what I wanted. Right now, there’s a very narrow slot in the back of the range for the gas piping. If that slot could be made larger, it would make it easier to conceal the piping. Viking could also put in a smaller burner. Because right now, youve got four large burners, and sometimes you only got to cook with a small pan. But I like the ignition. It lights up really quick. Its a good stove.

Unbelievable, but after 3 months and some limited use, our outdoor grill burned through the light wires and short circuiting the house. After finding the tripped fuse switch, we tried it again with the lights off. It worked once and then the burner fell off as it had melted. Viking says that this $6,000 plus range actually wont let us close the canopy and heat it up. They said to just put the food on and it will eventually get done (have they ever tried a turkey or even a chicken breast). They say that people call in all the time with burned wires and knobs falling off, and that you really arent supposed to warm it up (contrary to what the manual says). In fact, the canopy thermometer must be a decoration as its never going to go up at all! Id like to return this sucker, and I do accuse this company of fraud!

I love Viking but the range that I got have been serviced already because of the ovens. The sensors on the temperature controls were popping off and now, it doesn’t hold a constant temperature. It constantly clicks all the time and re-lights. Id have to call back in on it again and get it fixed. But for the most of it, its been okay. But I wasnt too happy with the salesperson from the Viking dealer. When you spend $20,000 with somebody for your appliances in your kitchen, you would think youd get a little faster response out of people. Ive left messages with him for over a week and never been contacted back. Also, the appliances at the house weren’t installed properly. I had to call back on that. Also, I went by the details that Viking put out for the measurements on building cabinets and your measurement. If I built one to those measurements, wherein on the top side, behind the LED instrument panel was a little bracket that was screwed in to protect the controls and that little notch out was an inch high by 10-inches across, and there was no way I could put the microwave in that opening. It still got to be notched out that inch by 12-inches to get it in there. Its a mis-drawing on the diagram. Viking needs to look at those details and make sure everythings correct cause the installers wanted to knock out my stalls on the cabinet. But my cabinets werent screwed and nailed. Mine were dowels and biscuits cut together and glued. If he had knocked that stall out of that cabinet, he would have ruined that cabinet.

I had a Viking range that lasted for 18 years, which was great. When we replaced all our appliances, we stayed with the whole Viking line, ‘cause we got a discount. They included the refrigerator if you bought the range. However, when they plugged the refrigerator that they installed, it didn’t work. It didn’t even come on. Then we got into a little argument with the guy and told him that they gotta take the refrigerator out if it doesn’t work because P.C. Richard, where we bought it, said that they should not leave it there. But they made good and they came back the next day with another refrigerator. At the same time, the range didn’t work either. I had gotten into a big argument with Viking headquarters and P.C. Richard that the range doesn’t work and they didn’t believe me so I had to wait a couple of days to get a Viking repair guy to confirm that it wasn’t working. Then, I had to wait four days for them to take the range out of my house and bring a new range. Also, theres a minor issue with the dishwasher. So, overall, the appliance purchase was a very bad experience because the guys were in my house installing everything half of the day and I gotta wait for them. We wasted five days on the whole process. Moreover, they have a Viking pots and pans set, which is $500, and I told them that they should send me a gift certificate for all the hassle that I just went through, but I never heard anything back. Lastly, the customer service reps at Viking knew everything that was going on but no one from them ever got back to me even though they told me I had to keep going to the retailer, and that was a nightmare because of the way P.C. Richard set up with inventory. Given my feelings with Viking, I have mixed emotions about recommending their products.

I have Viking in other homes, and this time, they were running a rebate which was a considerable amount of money. Also, Viking was acquired by another company and word on the street was their quality issues had been fixed. I also looked at Wolf and Thermador and read horrendous reviews about them, but they’re great products too. Ultimately the price point made the big difference for me and I bought a range from Viking. The qualitys pretty good. Upon unboxing and installation, there were two burners that were inoperable so that was not a good start. I then got a service call in and haven’t heard anything from them and it’s been two weeks. But I have been able to use it. I like the rapid heat oven which is very nice. I also like the true convection oven portion of it. It has three different convection modes, but the true conduct is very nice. And the overall appearance was very sharp. The dealer was good too. I did most of my research online and I have a rep that I used. I simply called him and said, “Order it.” Its a great product, well-made craftsmanship, and a value in the realm of high end, other than the burners. But I thought that may have been a shipping issue.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. The stove would not heat up consistently as many others have noted and I finally called Viking for advice. Apparently, the warranty period had changed from 3 years to 1 year so I was on my own. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly. Its now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. Its hit or miss whether youll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. The Viking Professional side-by-side refrigerator has operated for about 7 years without any real issues. However, today the water dispenser activated and flooded our kitchen floor. Thankfully we were home and awake when it happened and were able to figure out if we lock the dispenser the water stops flowing. The ice dispenser works fine, but the water flows even when the ice dispenser is being used. It keeps beeping as it would when locked and someone tries to use it, even though the switch is not being physically activated. This makes me VERY nervous to even repair it as the damage it would cause if it went on for hours and hours (or even days if we were to travel) is nerve-wracking. What if it malfunctions again? The repair guy is coming in a couple days and we hope it wont dispense water while locked.

Im a contractor and Ive put in appliances a few different times. I also put them in the last house that we remodeled. On that one, we went all commercial-type appliances and I had lots of problems with those. Unfortunately, the refrigerator went out three different times. And the installation of the dishwasher was crazy. Ive installed probably a couple of hundred dishwashers before but for that particular dishwasher, I had to do some modifications and stuff on it to get the water in. If Im not mistaken, these dishwashers are made overseas. But the only frustrating thing that weve really had with the appliances has been the microwave. The LED lights have gone out. And the same is for the dishwasher. So the repair person who came out ordered new panels for both. He said it may take up to a month to get the parts. But so far, weve been really happy with the oven for the price that we got it for. The other one was about $8000 and it was 48-inch range. But now this one, its a cheaper designer line. 48 Side-by-Side Refrigerator AND VICU165 - 36 wide cooktop - To say Ive been disappointed in Viking products is an understatement. When we began building our house we wanted a great kitchen. We chose Viking professional products. We purchased them about a year or so before we actually installed and moved into our home. Within the first 3 months our water dispenser in the door of the fridge/freezer froze over and completely quit working. We had a repairman come out... it worked for about 3 more months and we have not had water in the door since because we couldnt get anyone out to repair. Within 8 months the drawers in my fridge began cracking... nope, sorry, you have to pay astronomical prices to have those replaced. Within the first 2 years one of the shelves in the door came crashing down when we opened the door. Again, nope, sorry, thats your problem attitude from customer service. Now, our cooktop is horrible. We have the 36 all induction with 6 burners. We NEVER had all 6 working at one time. We call a Viking, get a repairman out... it works for about 2 weeks. Then we are back to 5. Slowly but surely others started going out. We call, we email, we call some more and finally get someone out there. He needs parts. Hes going to order then come back. No, we never hear from him again. We start calling, emailing, calling again. They send another guy out... he needs some parts. Meanwhile, all of this is taking literally years between the calling and emailing. The burners never get fixed. The last time they sent out a repairman, he again did not return. We called again and were greeted with a sorry, your warranty has expired, it will cost you an insane amount to repair. Right now, we are down to 1 burner that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. I will NEVER purchase Viking again nor will I EVER recommend their products. Pitiful customer service.
