I was looking for a comparable model so I researched and saw that there were Jenn Air, Subzero, and Miele. I was looking for a certain look and dimension and I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators. I like the feature choice components. Plus, its quality seemed all right, but I was shocked that it didn’t have a filter installed for the water. Aside from the refrigerator, I also bought four other pieces of kitchen equipment and had a good experience with the dealer. Viking Refrigerators is very supportive and I would recommend them.

Ive had Viking appliances for years now. However, the refrigerator had an issue with its refrigeration system that made it freeze the food in it. They sent several technicians out several times to replace its parts but they never fixed it so they replaced it. I was extremely happy with how their customer service handled the situation. They did a good job standing behind their product. With the refrigerator that we got recently, we like the little piece of box featured at the bottom of it.

I like that the Viking refrigerator is spacious and industrial. However, we had to have their techs come out a couple of times to stop the squeaking of the doors. It was annoying to have to do that when you first get the refrigerator purchased and set up. But their team is professional and friendly.

We had a Viking range before and it was over 20 years old, so we figured that if something worked for 20 years, wed buy another one. We purchased it around April of last year and were totally disappointed with it. Around March of this year, we had to call Appliance World because it wasn’t working. Then we called them again last month for the same exact reason. Now we have to pay for it because it’s not under warranty. I contacted Viking itself and I’m still waiting on somebody to respond to my concern.

We were limited with space and size and since Vikings one of the ones that fit in it, we decided to choose this brand. We know that its so good. In fact, weve had Viking in other houses and my mother-in-law also has it in their house in Montana. The quality has been excellent. However, were having some problems with the ice maker either because of the way it was hooked up or were not used to it. Also, I like the look of it. So even though we had to go with one of the smaller ones, its a gorgeous refrigerator and its doing its job.

We got the Viking refrigerator through our builder that arranged everything and because of that getting the service and the registration was cumbersome. In those situations, it could be made easier. We purchased the appliances almost two years ago but our house wasn’t completed until just now so, that’s a little bit of a difficulty. Other than that, our Viking refrigerators quality is very good and we like its size.

I was replacing an oven that I had for years and was gonna go buy new appliances. Plus, I wanted an electric range. I looked at Viking and the quality of the appliance was pretty good for the price. The struggle that I had was I could not see the exact stove that I bought because nobody had one in Columbus, Ohio. I could see pictures in the brochure of what Viking looked like and looked at it online, but I couldnt see it, feel it, or touch it. So for me, it was a big risk and a little frustrating. But its been great so far. I like its oven capacity a lot.

It looks like a solid and quality refrigerator. But weve had some issues in terms of not cooling consistently. Some areas are too cold and other areas are not that cold. Finding service has not been easy. Theres a list of certified vendors, but its not as easy. Its not like you call some of the other more regular appliances, like you call up Home Depot and then somebody comes and fixes it. It would be helpful if Vikings can make it a little bit clearer and more easy to find and get a service to do it.

I went to culinary school and we used Viking ranges all the time so I know that theyre reliable. They cook well and very evenly which is awesome. They usually dont break which is very good. Unfortunately, we had some problems with the one we got. The racks in it dont slide out. We also had a problem with one of the burners that wouldnt light. Were still waiting for pieces to come in for a few months now. The company has been fine but since theyve come to fix it, we still havent heard anything about the parts coming in. It would have been nicer to get kind of like an update.

My Viking Refrigerator got serviced since the automatic defrosting unit was bad. It would not cool and it took a long time before someone came out to fix it. We went for almost two and a half weeks without having a refrigerator. We dealt directly with Viking and they had to find somebody in the local area to fix the unit. They had to bring someone from about 50 miles out to come and fix it because we live in a not very convenient place. Then the team who handled the issue was very good and professional. Overall, the experience has been pleasant and we really like the quality of the refrigerator. We just did a kitchen remodel and we bought a whole Viking unit including a refrigerator, stove, warming drawer, hood, and microwave drawer. Were very pleased.

I purchased 27 Viking “professional” double wall ovens to replace old GE model in November 2010. I used them successfully to cook Thanksgiving dinner (I dont use an oven very much!). In 2011 around September, I cooked something that gave off a lot of steam and fogged up the analog clock which stopped. Reset it a few days later and it was fine. In January 2012, I roasted some wild mushrooms. The moisture from the mushroom stopped the clock again and I realized at that time it has also stopped the other timing controls. This time the controls stayed broken. I called Viking and I was told the ovens were out of warranty. I called for service and was advised to turn off the circuit breaker which may reset the controls. That didnt work. I called back and the operator was very surprised that Viking didnt “step up” and pay for the repair (they quoted $200 or so to send someone out). I called Viking back to ask again but couldnt reach anyone so I left a message. Then I emailed their customer support. I received a response that they would fix the controls for FREE. But after numerous emails and calls to Karen ** (senior customer support representative: **), I am still waiting. I will never purchase another Viking product! I love my Wolf exhaust fan and my Miele dishwasher and my very old Chambers gas cook top (I will never replace it).

I’m from Mississippi and Viking is a local company. I chose it ‘cause I could get the full suite in the same brand, the fridge, range, dishwasher, and door microwave. The appliances are well-built and the appearance is good. The fridge, dishwasher and microwave have been okay, but I’ve had a few issues with the stove. There’s something on it thats supposed to be wiped off when installed and that wasn’t done, so the front of the stove rusted between the opening of the oven and the top of the range where the control knobs are at. Also, the igniter gave a little issue one time and my oven quit in the middle of cooking a strawberry cake.I was without an oven for over a week before they came to fix it and my other complaint is the response time on getting the warranty repairs completed, but some of that is not in Viking’s control. It’s the repair facility picking it up. The appliance repair company came and cleaned the thermal cut on the system. If it quits again, the igniter would need to be replaced. There were a few minor issues, but I’m pleased and satisfied overall.

We upgraded our kitchen with all Viking appliances a couple of years ago, and I have never been so disappointed in a product line. All of the major appliances (refrigerator, stove and dishwasher) had to be serviced within the first year. The refrigerator has been serviced twice, the dishwasher three times and Im waiting as I write this for a call back from the service technician whom I paid $400 for repairs last week. On a positive note, the microwave works fine, but the trim at the base fell off of it, so I threw it away. The trim, not the microwave.Obviously there is a quality control issue that I am told Viking is working to resolve. In the meantime, my problem is the availability of servicing. The closest and ONLY certified Viking repair technician is an hour away (though the closest Viking distributor is 10 minutes away). Even though my appliances are out of warranty, I still have to rely on a Viking repair tech because Viking makes it nearly impossible for anyone else to service their appliances. If they cant make the stuff work right, youd think that they might at least Make it possible to get it fixed, since its obviously not a rare occurrence. Maybe they want us to toss the stuff out and buy new? Never again.

And now, I have four different Viking appliances. I love the high-techness of my refrigerator. I like the durability of the range, it’s a 5 burner with two on the sides and then the long one in the middle. I like the quietness of my dishwasher. And my microwave, it works so well. The Viking dealer was also great. We found them online and we priced around. They gave us the best deal and free shipping. So, they were awesome.

We appreciate the quality of the brand. The 7 series in particular had a lot of the newer features that could be useful, particularly in how we cook. Were really enjoying it. Its very high quality. We really like the broiler. We really appreciate that. We also like the setup with some of the lower BTU range areas. Its been great. We also like the high simmer approach on the top left. So you can go right from high straight into a really controlled simmer. The Viking dealer was great. We use Plesser’s in Babylon. They had great background and nice expertise. They could walk us through the features. They were incredibly helpful and worked with us on all different pricing.

Fridge is leaking water on to the floor after 4 years. Authorized service tech didnt find anything wrong but changed thermostat just in case was the problem. Fridge still leaks. YouTube videos show it is likely a clogged drain line. After taking apart fridge we can see the evaporation tray is completely dry, yet water is leaking on floor. Why didnt tech even check this??? Seems pointless to call tech back since he was so clueless but we dont know how to fix it. Also the shelves broke too easily.

We had a Viking Range installed in 2006 and weve never really been happy with it. The temperature control in the oven stopped working. So, we went to our local appliance store and looked for alternatives but then our appliance store operator, B&B Appliance in Escondido, told us that Viking is much better now. We really liked how Viking fit our needs. We wound up getting fooled twice. When our new Viking Range was delivered, we turned the convection fan on and it was rattling against the grill as it was badly installed. Thus far, temperature control of the oven has been absolute crap. Weve done two big cooks on it, a turkey and a roast. After about an hour, the oven temperature seems to have dropped by 100 degrees. Also, we turned on the range burners the first time we used it and those cracked off showing us rust. While its running, it makes a clank as the temperature goes up, sounding like a contraction or expansion of steel. Additionally, the convection fan switch on the front panel failed. We had another tech come out and put another switch in and that failed within an hour while the tech was still here. This Viking has cost me a fortune.

I have bought Viking appliances for my past two kitchen renovations and I have to say I am disappointed in the quality of my latest Viking range; especially when I compare it to same Viking range we had before. The latest range makes a loud bang sound whenever we turn the oven on and it is heating up. It sounds almost like a small explosion and when it first happened, my wife and I thought something seriously happened with the oven and that it was faulty. We had a Viking technician come out to look at it and he informed us that it is becoming increasingly common with Viking ranges and that there is nothing much we can do about it.I have to say that paying a huge premium on an appliance and being told that there is little we can do about it is not a very satisfying answer. It is also embarrassing whenever we have company over and they hear the bang go off with our oven and are surprised to learn that is something we put up with every day especially after spending so much money on a high-end item. I am not exactly sure what can ever be done about this but I must say that if or when we renovate our next kitchen, I cannot say that Viking will be high on my list as appliances to purchase.

We renovated our entire kitchen through P.C. Richards and we purchased Viking through them for our cooking range and I like the look of it. I was supposed to contact them because of two things. One is I was very disappointed aftermarket that I couldnt get a grill pan. We have a lot of company in our summer house and we cook a lot of eggs and bacon. I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.

We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize the value of the appliance. When it broke and wasn’t cooling in the freezer, we looked and it cost $9,000 to replace, which was a shock. I would never buy a $9,000 refrigerator unless it was to match one that broke and it wouldnt have been my first choice by any means. I don’t think I wouldve ever bought a Viking appliance on purpose. Plus, theres nothing better about the refrigerator and its small for its size. We called a tech from Johnson Service last October and somebody came out. He said that it needed either an inverter or a compressor. One was gonna be 600 bucks and the other one could cost a couple of thousand dollars. Then he took off and we didn’t hear anything from anybody for a couple of months. We would call and ask if somebody was gonna come here and fix our fridge and they would say that they were still waiting on a part. That went on for a couple of weeks. We went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a refrigerator. We were calling them once a week to ask for an update. They said that the refrigerator was an expired model that Viking doesnt make anymore and that they had to make a whole new kit for the refrigerator, which was what was taking time. Finally, after Christmas, I called Viking directly and asked what the heck was going on. The lady said that that was the first she had heard about it, even though they were the ones that had initially referred me to call Johnson Service. The lady was helpful though. She got on the phone and started making calls to Johnson herself. The next day, I got a call from Johnson and they said that Viking freed up one of the parts needed and that they would be able to get over here in a couple of days to fix the refrigerator. A couple of days went by, but we still hadnt heard from them. Then finally, a week or so later, we got it fixed. It took 10 weeks to get the refrigerator fixed and we didnt get a deal. It still cost $650 to fix it. It was an awful experience. I would never deal with the refrigerator again. I would work with local stuff that I can get people to fix easier.

13 years ago, when we built our house, we bought a Viking refrigerator. About two years ago, we put $1100 into it because it quit working. The guy said it was better than new then about three months ago the refrigerator door fell off. They gave us a whole new one so now I have a new Viking Refrigerator. However, I dont like it as well as my old one because I dont think it holds as much. And already, the plastic is cracked in one of the drawers and I dont know how it happened. We had that problem with the old one, but not this soon. The drawer in the new unit is not extra full, it goes in by itself, and you just give it a little shove and it slides in. I like that feature and its better for me. But my other one have more of a tall shelf on one side so taller things would fit like a wine bottle say and its pretty. Their reps are very nice and they were very good about getting us a new refrigerator. When our refrigerator door fell off, luckily it only grazed my husband. It hit him on the shoulder but he was walking away from it. But it did damage my covered and wood floor. Theres also a big gouge out of my cabinet doors which Ive had somebody come to look at and theres no way that it can be fixed. It has to be replaced. Some of the boards on the floor have to be replaced too which means that they have to redo my whole floor because its an open hardwood floor. In their email to us, Viking said that they wanted our homeowners to do it. I checked with my homeowners and found that its going to raise my insurance. We have a $1500 deductible. So Im in the process of getting bids to send to Viking. Im not happy about that part of it and if it had hurt my husband worse, theyd have a lawsuit on their hands. Also, I feel that we werent notified of this problem with the Viking and were lucky there wasnt any grandkids here.

I also used the broiler for some great T-bone steaks. I like that it’s so spacious and easy to clean. We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

The ice machine is not one of those where you put a cup into it. Its just like a normal ice machine where one has to open up the door. So every time I open up the door, the ice falls down the back side and then I cant shut the door until I go down on all fours and pull it out from that.

We needed a new fridge, and we heard that Viking was a good model, so we decided to buy it. But ever since we’ve had it, it has been giving us nothing but a problem. We’re working with Best Buy to have it replaced as soon as they can get us a different model or unit, not even Viking. The compressor seems to be humming a lot louder and unusually higher. So it’s this annoying, high-pitched hum that we constantly hear. Also, the alignment of the bottom freezer drawer is a bit off. They tried to replace it with different Viking units from different warehouses, but all of the refrigerators had the exact same problem. So we did not go with a replacement, and we came to a mutual decision that we’re gonna have the Viking taken back by Best Buy and have it replaced by a completely different brand. We got the 36-inch freestanding unit and it is absolutely not one I would recommend. Best Buy asked us to reach out to the manufacturer directly, and they came over and saw the unit, and they didn’t really do anything. They told us that they were not gonna be able to help or do anything here and that we just have to talk to Best Buy. So while they were polite, they were utterly useless.

My experience has been horrible. I planned and did everything right. I wanted to make sure I researched. I wanted to support the country too. What I was thinking was either Miele or Viking. Miele was made by Germany while Viking was made in the US. Ive built my house and everything we use is made in the USA. Pacific Sales told me to go with a Viking. I asked how was their service and they said everything is perfect. When we called them, they said it would take longer. It was about closer to Thanksgiving time. They said it takes about eight weeks to build it. Somehow, somewhere, somebody called me one day and said they had one Viking unit sitting in the warehouse. I asked if it was a return unit and the guy said no. They brought it to the house and installed it. After a couple of months, we smelled gas. I called the gas company and they detected the whole house and found out it was the unit which was leaking the gas so they shut it off. When you turn the oven on, youll hear a tick, tick, tick but it will not ignite. Then it will fill up the whole house with gas smell. When I called the service company, I told them, “The gas company canceled my gas. Can you send somebody so they can fix it? The lady said, Oh, we have until next week. When we told the gas company we smelled gas, they showed up within an hour because it was urgent. The guy opened the whole unit and found out that the end of the gas igniter and all the electrical were exposed. It was sparking at the back of it instead of the front. He said it could cause an explosion so he unhooked it and said I could not use it until they replaced it. They came over and changed it but again, it started the other side. At that moment, I called Pacific Sales. I told them I bought this thing for safety. I have young children. It made me uncomfortable to use this unit. I didnt want it anymore. If they could replace it, that would be great. I didnt wanna keep calling somebody. What I found out was that the best interest of the companies that they use for repairs is to come back because every time they come back, theyre charging Viking service fee. Theyre the one who can make the decision whether things could be repaired or whether things could be exchanged and they always say it will not be exchanged it but it will be repaired. They came back again and this time, the grill was not fitting. The guy bent the pipe. I said, Isnt this pipe engineered and shouldnt have bent like the way youve done? He said it was okay. Theyre supposed to quality check before they ship it. It should have been tested if it closed perfectly. So I called called Pacific Sale back. They kept giving me the runaround. The other day, I called them and said, Every time you do it, the same thing keeps going. Im tired of somebody coming to my house and doing this thing.” They said they were not gonna change. They were gonna send another third party company to look at it if I wanted that but they were not gonna replace it. The griller doesnt work. You turn it on and wait. One day it works, one day it doesnt. They said somebody will contact me within 24 to 48 hours but they never contacted me. The other day, I told the lady, You know me. I talked to you many times, right? She said, Yeah, yeah, Mr. **. I talked to you. Now, I actually have a report for you. My boss told me no, were not gonna do it. I asked if he could call call me but she told me he doesnt call. Im discussing with my attorney what are my options are. Its not right. My familys safety is important. I regret it ever buying this unit. I wish I never dealt with them. I spent closer to $60,000 for that purchase. Viking hood and Viking range are the two things I bought. The rest of it was Sub-Zero and Miele and I have no issue with those equipment.

We knew we were buying a higher-end appliance set and our Viking has exceeded expectations which is great.

Unfortunately, I have had 3 costly repairs and I am now faced with a fourth repair after a self-cleaning cycle broke the oven lock. The trouble is compounded by the fact that I cannot finding a repair person in the area willing to help. I have contacted 2 companies that have said they would call me with info about repair and neither has returned a call. Disappointed to now have 4 costly repairs on a very expensive appliance.

Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. Poor design on what otherwise could have been a nice unit since it did a great job cleaning dishes. I just purchased a new unit from another company.

My wife and I purchased a Viking 36, four Burners, approximately 18 years ago. The range worked fine for most of the years. Recently the oven door started giving us problems, door would come off its clips, as it turns out the clips on the sides of the inner oven door are no longer manufactured. The oven door for this model is no longer manufactured. In short, we have a range that does not have a door. When you pay $5000.00 for a product, this should not be a large companys response. We bought a Viking refrigerator 15 years ago. We purchased a new refrigerator to replace one that wasnt working anymore. We had no choice but to buy another Viking because we invested in cabinetry and it’s the only thing that would fit. However, it doesnt fit even if the specs said it would. It was a disappointment. The current model is two inches deeper than the original side by side that fit in the 24-inch cabinet. Viking would not take it back but the appliance company would, but we had looked at other side-by-side models. We would have had to use a stainless and our panel wouldn’t fit. In addition, nobody makes a counter depth refrigerator anymore. Wed have to invest in the columns to do that, and they’re significantly more expensive. We’re stuck with the Viking refrigerator. Also, they gave us a deal and we had gotten a dishwasher for free that came along with the refrigerator. Vikings specs need to be more accurate in terms of calling something counter depth when it’s really not counter depth. The refrigerator freezes things on the top shelf. Then we had a hinge problem. We had people out of here twice to fix the hinges. The door is also extremely heavy and has a metal compartment on the door. And it’s much heavier than the other unit. Although its a great refrigerator, I’m not enamored with Viking products. I also own a second Viking, a 36 inch with a lower freezer, which is still working after 15 years.

10 years ago we did a remodel of our kitchen and game room after saving up for eight years to pay for it. I convinced my wife to purchase the Viking refrigerator over the Sub Zero which she really wanted. She had purchased a Viking range at our old house which she loved and we moved it to our new home. After it and the new refrigerator were installed I felt that it was perfect and I was proud of the fact that we were able to afford such a nice kitchen. Well soon after we had problems that everyone here has had and more. I have been holding back from blasting Viking on the net for a while. Tonight we came home to see water stains in our game room ceiling, coming from the kitchen upstairs right under the fridge. I followed the water line through the drop ceiling up under the fridge. All good, no water or leaks from the line or connection. Then I notice that the drip pan is MELTED completely and is stuck to the floor like TAR. So if you are reading this and you had over heating/thermostat and coolant leaks and ice buildups and gasket replacements and hinge recalls and numerous service calls. YOU better check your drip pan. Did I mention that I work for a moving company and bash Vikings name everywhere I can. Imagine moving furniture for 8 years to pay for this.

We purchased our Viking DF Range in August of 2003. Our first problem surfaced during installation by Sun appliance in St Joseph, MI. The installer noticed that the surface grill grates were not manufactured level and would not set lever over the burners. They had to be reordered three times before we received one that lay flush. My thought was that a range costing almost $7,000.00 had such poor quality control that it left the factory with parts that were poorly manufactured. After several months of use, we noticed that the little rubber feet that fit on the bottom of the burner grates were falling out. I attempted to glue them but with no long term success. Out of frustration, I called Viking and was told I had to purchase a brand new grate at a cost of $35.00 plus shipping because they could not sell me this little piece of rubber worth no more than a $1.00. I finally found some on the internet in a Viking parts bag for $14.95 for 16 pieces. My opinion of Viking and my $7,000 range began to slip. A few years later the broiler element, PJ010002, went out at a cost of $299.00, including labor. Now, I am really getting upset. I had my choice of several other brands but chose Viking because of its perceived quality. The next surprise was in June of 2011 when the oven relay, part no. PM010129 burnt up filling the kitchen with a stinky smell. We had that part replace at a cost of $126.10. Now its only six months later and the same part burnt up again. I again called the Viking repair people at All Pro Appliance Service and was told the $35.00 part was covered under warranty but I would have to pay an $89.00 service call to have it repaired. I am very concerned now because I have a feeling its not a defective part but a problem with the stove. In searching this site and others, I have found several other Viking owners who have had the same oven relay problem. In summary, this is the worst appliance I have ever owned and would not recommend it to anyone. Shame on you Viking for such poor customer service and quality control!

When they couldnt, they turned us over to Viking and wouldnt come work on the range any more. Viking through their rep in Milwaukee visited us a couple of times and then stopped responding. The igniters have been replaced at least four times. One or more of them continues to fire for some seconds or minutes when turning on any burner. If the oven doesnt light on the first ignite youd better be right there to turn off the oven because on the second ignite the oven will blow up! Viking doesnt care. How they keep their reputation after reading all of the customer comments is beyond me. Id give them zero stars if it were possible. All we can say at this point is----STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!!!!!!

I’ve seen Vikings advertisements in home building magazines and I went with them because of the expected quality. The stove and the microwave-convection oven were delivered dead on arrival, and it’s now six weeks so Viking’s trying to figure out if they’re gonna replace them or not. They’ve had three technicians out and I have not heard back in two weeks despite repeated follow-up attempts. The interactions are fine, but all the parts unfortunately are on backorder and are parts that they don’t stock. And there’s no definitive timeline for when the parts will be in stock. Every time I call the call center, they say I’m supposed to expect a call from a director or BT level that can make that decision. And they keep passing along the message, but I do not get a call back. I spent a ton of money on these appliances and it’s very unfortunate that the service and quality aren’t there based on my experience so far.

But the woman said no and never followed through with getting someone to repair it.However, the people I bought this stove from, Appliances Connection, stepped up and found a repairman. I have had a Viking gas oven that has had the same recurring issue since it was brand new, 3 1/2 years ago. The oven heats up but then fails to reignite, causing the oven to lose temperature. Viking service providers have put band-aids on this issue 3 times, the latest 4 months ago. These have helped for a short period of time, but eventually have all failed. When I called Viking today to let them know that the issue is happening again, neither Viking (nor the service provider) would stand behind the product or the work that was done to fix it. The customer care department told me that I would need to pay for the service, and then Viking would decide whether or not it was a quality issue. They would not escalate the issue to a supervisor, claiming that there was no such person. I am writing the review here in the effort to get some resolution.

The Viking range is a quality product but we had a very rough start with it. We got a $10,000 range and its not a cheap item by any chance. But the handle on the small oven door was not mounted properly. It was crooked. And then, the igniter on both ovens didnt work properly. One oven didnt work at all. It would get hot once and then, wouldnt, and would turn off. And the other oven would click, click, click a whole bunch of times every time it went on an on-off cycle. So were not too thrilled. They should do a better job inspecting and testing the product and shouldnt be delivering defective items. In the Vikings website, their request for help is broken. I went in the customer support area and requested help. It triggered an automated email that told me that they were going to look into my question and respond soon. I also got a second email that was an error, that said some other email was undeliverable. And then, I never heard back. So Im guessing that the email was my request going to some support on the Viking side and for some reason, it didnt go through. It was a fiasco. When I told the vendor who sold us the oven of the problem, they were quick to respond. They gave me the name of the local repair guy who provides support for Viking. They were scheduled to come within a couple of days but they didnt come, call or follow up. So a week later, I called them and they sent somebody but didnt fix it. They ordered a part, and two weeks later, theyve never called us back. So I had to call them back. I escalated and they sent somebody who was sharp. He had to adjust the igniter. It wasnt sparking close enough to the burner so the burner wasnt lighting up.To make the long story short, the salesperson at the store should have called us and followed up to make sure our problem got fixed but never did. They did not even check that the range was delivered. Then the repair people dropped the ball and never followed up with us. So it took us almost a month from when it was delivered to when we were able to use the oven. Other than that, everything is working fine. We love the Viking range. Its a very nice stove and the cooktop is great. Its nice to work with and hopefully will last a long time. Were happy with it but their support system is pretty badly broken.

Vikings reputation precedes itself as far as the quality of the product. When we bought our house, our builder provided Viking appliances like the dishwasher, a super range, and a refrigerator. I love the range. I also love everything about the refrigerator except the fact that it doesnt dispense water. The appliance company did the installation has been great with us. Weve just had a couple of minor issues with stuff that there was some damage done on a couple of items during the installation and it had nothing to do with the quality products that were provided.

All of our appliances are Viking, which is a high-end brand. But I guess Viking is new with refrigeration. The quality of the refrigerator we got from them has been horrible. It does not hold the temperature. It freezes everything that its not supposed to freeze in the actual refrigerator side of it and its very loud when it makes ice. It doesnt have any special feature other than a normal refrigerator. It doesnt even have the water feature. So were having some very big issues with it and would never buy a Viking again. But when we had a couple of other issues with the refrigerator not having some proper framing, the team members at the Viking dealer have been very good to work with and have shown up on time.

The range is expensive, but you get what you pay for. So, Im very happy. I love the grill top. The Viking range works great, but it doesnt have a couple of key features. There are two things that I would love to see incorporated into the range. One, theres no clock, which makes me a little bit crazy because I’m obsessed with time sometimes. Two, being able to program the oven. Theres no programming feature. With the old oven I had, you could put something in the oven and program it to start baking in an hour or two hours. The range is a professional system and it’s designed for professional kitchens. So maybe some of those retail-oriented features dont come in that model. But it would be good if it did.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

I bought my home 2 1/2 yrs ago with a really beautiful kitchen. All appliances are Viking and the agent kept telling me they are the best products on the market. We have the two drawer pull out dishwashers. From the time we bought the house they do not clean anything properly. I have had technicians out various times, some telling us that cascade powder doesnt work and we must use gel capsules. Even if we wash the dishes thoroughly before they dont come out clean. I need them to work as they match everything in my kitchen. My viking microwave also doesnt work properly so I just use it to reheat. This house was remodelled around 5 yrs ago and from the time we moved in it was terrible. Who needs to clean dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher to find them still marked when you take them out. My daughter has the same crockery set and has a cheap dishwasher and hers come out spotless. Please someone help me as I need everything to match in my kitchen. Viking service are a waste of time and money. Thanks.

I like the reputation of the Viking refrigerator, and I like that they didnt have an ice dispenser on the door. So far, Ive had some issues, but they quickly repaired it. The fridge has been great except for this freezer function thing. It was kind of upsetting considering how much money the refrigerator cost. You think theyd work that out before it got to me. I would recommend it, but Id tell others about the icemaker issue. Other than that, the Viking looks amazing and the overall quality is great. I like the metal functions. The inside of the doors are not plastic so they’re cleaner. What I like the most is that somehow my food lasts longer. All the organic stuff that I normally buy spoils really quickly in my old refrigerator. On this one, they seem to last much longer.

We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

Ive had my Viking range for about six weeks and I just started to get used to the noise of the fan. But so far, it cooks very well. I’ve always heard of Viking and a lot of places were pushing it. Their reps were excellent and they knew very well. They answered all my questions. They even said how much they love Viking and I’m going to love it. Then, because of my situation with the hood range recirculating, I was told it was better than Wolf and the one that I got is a much safer situation. I have the 3 Series so it’s different. It’s not like the 5 or the 7 and I love the 3 too. It’s just perfect for what I have on the top. It holds my pots nice and its a nice stove for my house. It was also much prettier looking and I liked it better instead of the red knob. I like its knobs versus my old type of stove which was electric. I also like that the Viking is very clear-cut simple. The range is of very good quality, very solid, stern and very powerful. When I used to fry stuff, I used to get oil everywhere. When I fry stuff on here, I’d barely see any oil. It means that the simmer is more professional than what I used to have. Plus, the cleanup is so easy.

I am not very happy with Viking Refrigerators. They are not at the level that I thought they were like Wolf appliances. It definitely compares with Maytag and KitchenAid and in that range, I think Vikings one of the ones that I would definitely go for. But price-wise, it is slightly expensive. They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. Although, its doing what a fridge is supposed to do and I think thats the minimum we expect to see. I like the compartment arrangement even though the rack arrangement in the lower compartment is small. Its also very noisy and I like to see a quieter appliance than what I have.

Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesn’t have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didn’t do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasn’t going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People don’t generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.

And now Im waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it wont stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasnt functioned properly since. But the dealer has been helpful as far as sending someone out to repair it. The Viking rep called and was very pleasant. Hopefully after that he can come out and show me some features of the oven.

Ive had the Viking range for a few months now and so far, I think its excellent. I like that it has very precise and really good temperature control. However, when I was dealing with their customer service, I had a little bit of difficulty. I was on hold for a very long time before I finally got through to someone. He promised me that if I came back with the right serial number, he would replace the parts free. I hang up and got the serial number. Then, I was on hold a very, very long time again. In the kitchen, we have very high-end fixtures so we wanted something that was comparable to the other pieces that we had chosen. Viking has a really good reputation for being high quality and the pieces are pleasing to look at. Weve been using it for a month and everything has been great. The stove works well. The only issue that we had that was disappointing was that the color is different because the dishwasher and the range are placed next to each other. Its very drastic, the difference in color. When I called to let them know about the color difference, the people that I spoke to were very kind. They sent someone out and that rep was very nice. He took pictures. It was a really nice experience. We, very quickly, got a phone call saying they were going to change it, which was a relief. I was worried that they were not going to exchange it and we were gonna be stuck with that drastic color difference. So, I was very happy that they decided to change.

I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

We installed a Viking range, wall oven and microwave in 2006. In the first few years, we had to repair the range for not igniting properly and the wall ovens thermostat. In 2011, the thermostat on the wall oven stopped working (twice now) as well as the thermostat in the range. This is not a thermostat that is just a bit off. It is so off that they make the ovens unusable. We have been trying to install working thermostats since September 2011.First, the part was back ordered for three weeks. Once installed, it did not work. After three subsequent visits from the appliance repair company, during which, technicians at Viking insisted via phone that nothing was wrong. That repair company found it necessary to hand it on to the distributor, as they had no confidence that Viking could even provide a thermostat that would work. They agreed that the thermostats were broken, but wanted to charge labor, even though we were within the labor warranty guarantee. I wrote the owner of company with a complaint but there was no response. Now, the distributor is refusing to come out again saying that they were doing us a favor by coming out the first time. They did us a favor? Horrible, horrible product and horrible, horrible customer service.

Refrigerator Model VCFF136DSS2. Almost four years old and of course the warranty runs out 6 months ago. Started two years ago with the water filter holder. The cover for the filter has a clip that breaks easily. Viking store sold me a replacement and it broke within six months. I drilled a hole in the front and put a screw into the frame and it works great. Our biggest problem now is the fridge quit working. Only the lights work. Viking said to replace the front computer board. $922 and two weeks later that did not work. Now Viking does not know how to fix it? Local repairman asked me to call Customer Relations. They said a report had to come from repair man to the Regional Service Manager. Going on third week with no fridge. Family is not happy. Viking said they will call me once they decide what to do. We completely renovated our kitchen with new cabinets, marble counters, and all Viking Pro stainless steel built in appliances with the sole exception being the Bosch dishwasher. In the 10 years since we purchased the appliances, we have had repeated problems, year after year, with the double ovens (VED0127SS), microwave (VMOR205SS), nat. gas cooktop (VGSU1626BSS), cooktop downdraft (VIPR161SS), and refrigerator (VCSB423DSS). We paid $19,115 for what we thought were the top of the line appliances. Their service providers do not help much, and their customer service is terrible and useless. In hindsight, we should have kept our GE Profile appliances that came with the original home purchase and had no problems. I was choosing between a Wolf or a Viking and at that time, Viking was having a rebate so I went with them. I like that it was made in America and have the stickers on it but the quality is horrible. On Thanksgiving day, it caught on fire. The conduction oven doesnt work and the regulator for the gas has had to be adjusted three times. The product is a total lemon. Im working with the supplier who says hes working on my behalf with Viking and I am going to go to every review site I can find and post if they dont do something to remedy this $5,000 stove that I invested in. Prior to when I first built my house, I bought good appliances and I was hoping that this Viking would be even better and this would be the last range that I would have to purchase, being of the quality. But every time I bake, it rattles the vent or fan but theyve tried taping it.My husband and I are so disappointed. We made this decision together. I cook all the time and it doesnt even completely work. It caught on fire because they didnt connect it to the gas thing properly. It wasnt a plumbers fault. They didnt make the stove correctly so I am upset. Its documented through the repair person including the type of visits. I even had a plumber come and look at it separately from the repair person. Even the repair person said Viking is not very good at standing by their equipment once we get it. And thats from the person whos selling it in his store. Unfortunately, Im all the way in Hawaii so I realize they dont want to pay shipping. I had a KitchenAid prior to this and I didnt want an electronic motherboard. That was another big decision maker, cause its very humid in Hawaii. In Vikng, the knobs are on the front so I felt its a better investment cause in the long run the motherboards breakdown. Also, theyve had to move the range in and out and its gotten scratched, not because of anything Ive done. The racks are now uneven inside of it because the repair guy has had to take them in and out so many times. My husbands tried fixing it himself but the only thing thing that works properly are the burners on the top and thats it. Everything else is wrong. Ive had to call Viking when it first caught on fire. Its still under warranty but it is only good for so far. And in the first three months, this thing has had four repairs and thats not right. They should try to work with me and replace it. But theres been no contact and no accountability.

We bought a complete Viking package including fridge, microwave, dishwasher and, the bane of my existence, a 30 gas range. The range would get to 400 degrees OUTSIDE the over making a burning hazard for anyone who touched the medal on the top of the range. This bad design caused the electronic ignition to fry. We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We will be buying a Whirlpool to replace it. I made numerous calls to Viking direct and was never able to get anything resolved.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. We went through Ferguson to buy our Viking range and they were great. We spent a lot of time looking into the range that we would buy because we just remodeled our whole kitchen and I’m hoping that our range will last for a very long time like my mom’s. The range that I got from Viking is not very different from the one I had that was 20 years old. It had fewer features though. I used to have a separate grill and a separate griddle. They consolidated them into one area with a pan that flips over and its not quite the same. But the burners are nicer and it’s easier to clean. The top of the stove looks great and the lights are a nice accent. But after that, I had problems. Ive had to call repair services out here three times, so far. They eventually got them fixed. But its strange. I buy a $500 stove that lasted me 10 years and I had no problems. I buy a $15,000 range and within two or three months of owning it, I have to call to get repairs made. It was not what I was expecting. I regret, a little bit, buying the range. I was banking on the American made name and Viking has a long history, but Middleby has purchased them, seeing there have been some changes in quality and how it was working. And the new range manifested this very same issue as the 20-year-old one I replaced started to have towards the end of its lifecycle. So that was unfortunate. Probably, had I done it again, I would have bought a Wolf or some other range instead.
