Asko Washers

Asko works from the basis that carefully designed products should improve your health, your wellbeing, and your quality of life. Over the years, they have designed and developed washing machines that makes a home beautiful and functional, as well as providing the best possible results. They removed the biggest bacteria trap inside a typical washing machine: namely, the rubber door seal. Instead, we use a unique, hygienic and maintenance free Steel Seal solution in all of their washing machines. This means that there is simply no place for dirt to gather.  All of their washing machines also have Quattro Construction, in which the inner and outer drum rest on four shock absorbers attached to the bottom plate, giving a lower noise level and, overall, a more durable washing machine.

I think it’s fantastic how easy it is to add things mid wash in this Front Load washer. I also really appreciate how deceptively big the interior on this model is.

I have a washer (W6903) and the control panel stopped working properly. I called ASKO back in April to have it fixed. That started a series of frustrating events that has me here today in August, with my machine still not working. They had me set an appointment with a local repair service (American Home Products - Los Angeles). They came out and confirmed that the panel needed to be replaced and then tried to extract non-warranty payments for knobs. I complained and they backed off from that, but said they may need to replace knobs when they replaced the panel but that would be on them. They finally go the part, replaced it and then broke the knob.Do you think they had the knob in question? No. Then they told me it was on back order and I had to wait more than a month before they go the part. Once they got the part, they scheduled an appointment and just didnt show up. They did not call to reschedule or apologize for not showing up. I have since been going around in circles with ASKO to have them set up a new company. ASKOs repair service has to be the worst Ive ever encountered.

I appreciate this front load washer and not having an agitator which introduces balance issues. The drum can be spinning at 1000 rpm and the machine barely trembles.

W6221 - Bought the washer in 12/2001 for the internal heater and temp settings. In 5/2007 it stopped working, did not spin. Ended up replaced, level switch Board Control and Motor for a cost of $653.00. 2/2015 it stopped working on every cycle. Push the start button and only hear a click, nothing else happens except the door lock releases when pushed. This model does not have a led display so no error codes are displayed.

Expensive and until now reliable 5 year old Asko W6444 front loading washing machine (purchased Oct. 2012). In May 2017 the gap seal burst out of machine door while machine was on. Contacted Asko to request a technician to come out. I explained what had happened. Person on phone said we know about that problem. He said there is a Youtube video that we can watch explaining how to replace the seal ourselves and that way save a technician coming out. I asked if perhaps the seal had now stretched and might come off again. He said it is a bit of a design fault. We watched the video and couldnt do it. Rang them again. The woman said we would have to pay for a technician to come out. I said Thats unfair because I was told it was a design fault. She repeated that we would have to pay. We needed the machine fixed and so I said Alright, well pay in the first instance but I will take it further. I then contacted Consumer Affairs. They said we shouldnt have to pay if its a design fault. After it was fixed I wrote to Asko saying I wanted a refund for the technician. I received a reply which said the problem was my fault because either I had 1. an unbalanced load (my husband and I were standing next to the machine which sounded normal when suddenly the seal burst through the door). 2. Tried to clean the cabinet or seal area and rubbed it too hard (I hadnt cleaned it recently at all). 3. There was a water leakage because I had not pushed back the detergent dispenser properly (rubbish). She said it was certainly not a manufacturing defect and was a purely cosmetic part that can come off due to just normal wear and tear. She said that we were definitely obliged to pay. She said I am sorry I cannot assist with refunding any costs AT THIS STAGE (my capitals). Does this imply if I continue to argue she might... Pathetic. This problem is obviously VERY common for them to go to the expense and trouble of making a Youtube video on how to fix it yourself. Rubbish response.

I bought an Asko W6884 washing machine approximately 1 year, 1.5 years ago. The first one was leaking water, the door did not close properly. Asko sent the technician twice then changed it. No drama. The second started to do a squeaky noise and sounded like a spring inside just broke after a couple of months. The technician came again, few months later same story. After 4 technicians visits, Asko replaced it with a new one. No drama. The new one started to do the same squeaky noise, the technician came once, few weeks later same noise.I have asked Asko to give me the money back as I bought their product to have a reliable machine as I did not want to deal with repairs. The washing machine does a good job is totally programmable which is the reason I bought it in first place but I think there is something wrong with the spring system. Like a design defect. I dont believe I have been sooo unlucky to get 3 defected machines. I am disappointed because I bought Asko to have a quality product, reliable and energy wise machine.

I am a backyard tech so do my own repairs on most things. Bought Asko D3122 Dishwasher 3.5 Years ago. Within 18 months drain hose had split. Drain hose from Asko twice the price of non-genuine Bunnings knockoff. Replaced Hose. Now at 3.5 years the power cord fried at the plug. Replaced plug - fixed it. 5 days later no power at all. Checked wiring behind kickplate and found float switch plug burnt out (after research I believe this seems to be a common problem that will eventually take out the main board in most instances in this model). When attempting to get the machine fixed at ASKO HEAD OFFICE AUSTRALIA my dealings have left me less than satisfied. Poor call back from customer service when contacted by phone though very pleasant to talk with. Extremely Poor face to face customer service at their HEAD OFFICE in AUSTRALIA. After reading other peoples experiences and now experiencing this same DISRESPECT OF TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE I urge ANYBODY thinking of buying an ASKO APPLIANCE to STAY AWAY.

I needed to replace my Asko washer since I sent it off with my son who's going to grad school. It still worked like new after 10 years so I decided to purchase this Asko Logic model washer. Familiar design makes it easier to use. Feels like it's going to last at least 10 more years.

My previous washing machine was a $400 Fisher & Paykel. Worked for 14 years then died. Spent $1700 to buy an Asko, malfunctioned in the 4th year. Costed me $225 to fix it. So DONT BUY ASKO! CRAP! Just spend a third of the money and buy a Fisher & Paykel or any other mainstream ones.

This is my 6th Asko washer since our original purchase. Thank goodness we have an awesome additional insurance. After last replacement, Asko offered us 3 days to give us $400.00 to get rid of us for our $1500.00 machine, which we refused. Yes, they replaced the machines that many times. But why did these machines not hold up? Shouldn’t they be required to continue coverage? We should still have 4 years on the recent Asko washer. We have no company backup. The service for the additional warranty is covering for another 6 months. The bearing is going now. Every time I need service, I’m without a machine for a month. I’m really frustrated with Asko’s material.

I Purchased an Asko DS3100ss Dishwasher in 18/09/2004, I have had two repair call outs in the last two years for faulty wiring loom which has been earthing out to the chassis. A local Asko Invoice ** and **. I believe that this is a dangerous situation and would be common to all their machines, so be careful. I mentioned that this is an issue to the service man who in turn replied with Well it is getting old. They are no good after 10 years. The machine has performed as the designer intended but a faulty wiring loom is dangerous and costing me money. Not them.

We bought an ASKO W6884 ECO washing machine which worked well until just over two years old and out of warranty, it started making slits in clothing amid a loud squeaking noise. I contacted ASKO who sent a service man costing $100, he telling me that the machine needed a new drive belt which would take a few days and cost $200. When he rang to return with this part, he asked me to disconnect the machine and have it ready for him, out from the cabinetry where Id paid ASKO to install it when we bought it. I declined, politely telling him that it was his job. When he arrived, he requested some towels which I assumed were to absorb any leaking water, but was surprised a short time later to find the kitchen floor and adjacent cabinetry awash, with him having rolled the towels up under his knees. A short time later, I heard a loud banging coming from the kitchen, and on walking in, found him kneeling on our towels, vigorously banging a claw hammer onto a shifting spanner to undo the lock nut at the back of the drum. He told me that the lock nuts on ASKO machines were always difficult to undo, that often these were sealed in with Loctite.I told him to stop, to use a ring spanner as he was stripping the lock nut to which he replied that he didnt have one which very much surprised me. I told him to stop work and rang ASKOs service manager, an extremely rude, arrogant woman called Varni to whom I related what had happened and that I was very unhappy. The repairman appears to have been a backyarder contracted by ASKO, he having come without towels or proper tools, leaving the place with the floor and cabinetry still awash. I shall never buy or recommend ASKO to anyone, and hope for ASKOs sake that I never change my sales job to selling household appliances.

We bought the stainless steel Dishwasher in November 2010. The first days use had us with a leak of water on the floor and in the electronics compartment. ASKO wanted me to buy a Torx screwdriver and do the repairs. It is a machine with a guarantee, ergo, I said no. The service organization wanted me to pay for service, and I said no. Eventually, the machine dried up and the electronics began working again. Now in the third year, the machine has failed. The control board has failed. I phoned and wrote ASKO USA for a diagram of the machine. They did send one for the front door, but not the diagram of the location of the control board (which has failed). Their product is no longer sold in Montreal. We have no distributor and all parts have to come from afar (USA, Sweden, etc.). The machine is quiet, and when it worked, washed well, and was at a premium so that we could/would not have a noisy washing machine. There is no service for the product. There is a very polite telephone answering service, but no follow up. This company acts as if it is bankrupt. Lack of product support is why I would never recommend or buy another ASKO product.

Purchased ASKO front loading washing machine W6444 in April 2013 at a cost of $1499. Only 2 1/2 years old and a part of the front door cover flew off whilst on a spin cycle. A large crack has now appeared on the door. The detergent dispenser also leaks. Contacted ASKO on their 1300 number but was given the run around and disconnected. Followed up with an email to ASKO Australia explaining the problem but have received no response even though their website guarantees same day or next day response. Would never purchase another ASKO product.

When I first bought this item, the dashboard was faulty giving me an F4 signal, when there was no problem with the water supply. The next problem I had was the spinning. The washer would stop spinning. I booked a services, the guy took over 2 hours to fix it. Paid over $200 for the service. When he leaves the spinning is fixed and washer starts making noises. I call him up and he tells me the noise will go in a few days when whatever it is inside will go down the coin whole. Well the noise didnt go and guess what my washer isnt spinning any more less than two months after the service. So I call him up wanting to know answers and how typical it is of him to say I need to book another service.

Let me start by saying my old washing machine before this one was an Asko that lasted me 12 years, and Ive left positive reviews for that. This one is the worst dud. What makes it worse, was Asko customer service. It died 2 weeks after it ran out of warranty. It was back and forth between ACCC and Asko for 6 weeks. I was without a washing machine for the long before they repaired it under warranty. 1 year after that, it died again for a different reason. This time, it was going to cost $1430 to repair. Not good enough for a $2300 washing machine. Terrible after sales service. Takes ages to get through on the phone, then theyre nice to you but nothing gets achieved.
