We have an Amana 30 slide-in gas range (model # ACS3350AS) that is about 6 years old. The top burners are out of adjustment and are burning yellow. I went to the Amana website to find out how to adjust the air/fuel ratio and they wanted payment for answering a question. I spent 35 years in the gas customer service department of a large utility company, 20 of which were spent as a service technician for gas heating/hot water heating systems. After reading some of the complaints and evaluating their level of customer service and overall customer sensitivity, this company, Amana, is failing miserably. The upshot is that their executive management should probably seek positions that require a more parochial approach to business.

I purchased a rental house that had a 16-year-old refrigerator. My brother was upgrading his appliances to stainless steel, so he offered me his 8-year-old Amana refrigerator. I thought it would be a good idea to reduce the risk of having to replace an old unit. Im now on my third major repair in less than two years. Im very disappointed with the quality of the Amana appliance.

I purchased a refrigerator in 2008, Amana. In 2013 the refrigerator failed and stopped working. I called and of course the warranty is no longer valid. In order to fix the 5 year old refrigerator I had to purchase another warranty for 347.00. So here we are 2 years later and again the refrigerator is not working, so I called them and they cant help me - only if I buy another warranty for now 414.00. These people are scam artist and I think we all should start a class action suit against Amana. They are crooks.

WARNING. The Amana clothes washer I purchased does not wash clothes. It moves clothes around and gets some of them wet. I have tried to manually add water to the wash and rinse cycles with a bucket. I recently hurt my back and was not able to manually wash my clothes with this piece of poop. I finally had enough and have upgraded to a automatic clothes washer that agitates the clothes instead of me. This Amana HE washer is the slowest, least efficient, manual clothes washer on the market. I had the piece of junk hauled to the dump before I grabbed the model. It was a Amana HE with no agitator. Should not be sold as a clothes washer. False advertising.

I bought a new Amana washing machine seven months ago. I was doing laundry then went about my business, when I returned my laundry room floor was flooded with about eight inches of water. I hurried and grabbed a pot and after about a hundred trips from that room to the toilet, I finally had the water down enough to let my dehumidifier do the rest. I have issues with my arm and that being said I have been in much pain since. It was still under warranty so I had it fixed. I was only told a button went out. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Poor quality.

Amana dryer, less than 2 years old, doesnt heat anymore. About a $300 repair for a $600 product. Do you remember your parents replacing appliances as often as we have to? I dont. Garbage in and here is your garbage out Amana/Whirlpool. At first when I called, I was told they dont even make the model even after I repeated several times off their own sticker. Then all of a sudden, they do make it once I mentioned that Home Depot may be selling knockoffs of their products. All of a sudden, oh yes, here it is. What a joke. They keep telling me that they are all consumers too and understand my frustration. They arent willing to do anything about it though. I guess I am expected to feel good about their products because they understand.

I purchased a brand new stainless steal Amana refrigerator 6 months ago for 1200. The day it arrived I had issues. The doors do not line up. One door is 2 inches below the other. I called Amana and they told me this was due to a crooked house! The refrigerator sits perfectly level. Within hours we realized that the ice machine had design flaws. Water and ice cubes fail to land in the cup. Ice goes all over the floor. We have resorted to opening the freezer door and scooping ice out.About two weeks in to owning the refrigerator both of the sliding fruit and vegetation drawers were cracked. They are made of very brittle plastic. The drawers do not have castor wheels or a slide system. They just sit plastic on plastic. This causes major friction and difficulty shutting the drawers leading to them breaking. Amana offered to ship new ones but did not offer a fix. The refrigerator in the show room had extra freezer shelves and a meat cheese drawer. Mine came without them and I was told these are add on by Amana customer support. I will never again purchase an Amana product. Very dodgy craftsmanship.

My Amana appliance is 11 yrs old and maybe I expect it to last longer, but I had to have it repaired in the last two years twice. They just dont make things like they used to or maybe it is the country they make them in. I had a bottom freezer Sears refrigerator, I think it was a Kenmore brand and when I moved out of my house it was 19 yrs old, running good. But I didnt want to move it, because it was so big and I was moving to an apartment. It really is a good refrigerator, just not one that lasts a long time. I expect a $2000.00 refrigerator to last at least 20 years if you take good care of it, like vacuum the places required and keep it clean.

Really like my new Amana High-Efficiency Modulating Variable Speed Gas Furnace (97% efficient). With fan in "on" position, it quietly circulates the air from the basement and throughout the house. I noticed the air conditioner does not kick in as often and the temperature is more consistent. No comparison to the old mid-efficiency furnace that was replaced, Amana is much better made and will reduce our Natural Gas costs.

I bought an Amana dishwasher model ADB1500AWW3 in early 2011 from Home Depot. I had originally chosen another brand, but the sales clerk told me that the Amana would last longer than the one I had chosen. What she did not tell me was that the control panel would not last one year. A couple of cycles, it stopped working early on, but being I didnt use those much I thought I would see what happened. Then it stopped working altogether. I called Home Depot and was told that being it was over one year they could not do anything about it. I will never waste my money on Amana products again.

Purchased a stand up freezer in fall of 2019, manufactured date on back is June 2019! 4 months after the 1 year warranty date has passed, Ive already replaced the heater coil at a cost of 200.00. For the past 6 months Ive had to empty and defrost the coils at least 5 times! After replacing the coil (which was checked for continuity and failed), I still have issues! So who knows how many other parts are needed to fix the issue. Amana has basically said, Too bad, youre on your own, after condescendingly explaining how to care for my freezer!! Its only the second freezer Ive ever owned, the last one having served me well for more than 15 years, but that wasnt a garbage Amana product!!

I purchased an Amana Refrigerator Model; #ASS2222FEQ with Serial#1156842NA on 3/25/2008. On 7/13/2009, second incident of freezer not working in a refrigerator not yet 1-1/2 years old. I called 877-342-1446. Frantic that I was going to lose a freezer of food, I was advised by Kim that a repairman would arrive at 7/15 between 8am-12n. I called 800-628-5782, which was another number I had for Amana and spoke with Jamila. After explaining the problem, Jamila advised me that there was no service call request in the computer, so she initiated and advised that a repairman would be here on Wednesday, 7/15/09. I did tell Jamila that a second freezer failure in less than a year is totally unacceptable.7/15/09, a repairman arrived right around 8am, discovered some problem with paperwork; I called 877-342-1446 and spoke with Mark, who was able to advise me that I had called the manufacturer and the extended warranty numbers advised are separate and do not have shared computer programs. Mark said that he could take care of it, gave me a confirmation number to the repairman and was going to Fax sheets to the local office. On 7/16/2009, the local repair business called me to say that Maytag Dependability Plus was refusing to pay the bill because they authorized another company for the repair and that company called after the first repairman had left. Amana Dependability Plus will not change the work order from A&E Factory Service (who did not come or perform any service) to Convenient Appliance Service, who came and rendered service. Jim, at the 877-3542-1446, would not give me the names of any supervisor nor would he transfer me to anyone else. He said no one there has any more authority than he had. I then called the 800-628-5782 and asked for the name of the president of company. Lisa did not know the name of the Amana president, and said all she could do was to transfer me to Dependability Plus, because I have an extended warranty, endless, repetitive cycle. I advised all parties that I had not realized I was speaking with two different departments, but since the service was Ok’d, I do not understand the big deal to cancel the work order to A&E Factory Service and transfer it to Convenient Appliance Service. Oh no, this can’t possibly be done! Not only do I apparently have a faulty piece of equipment, this is a company dedicated to providing customer frustration. This could have been so easily solved, but agents have dug their heels in, and will be damned if they will help the customer. This is the very last Whirlpool/Amana product I will purchase. Remember, this is the second time the freezer stopped freezing in less than 1-1/2years. Customer service is a joke and we wonder why jobs go overseas? I am stuck with a $97 bill, my freezer problem is still unresolved and I have wasted an entire day. My B/P is soaring. I regret ever purchasing an Amana product and certainly an extended warranty.

A year and a half ago we purchased a brand new dryer (Amana tandem 7300 dryer) from Home Depot. As we were renovating our home, we continued to use our old appliances until our new laundry room was completed. The new washer and dryer stayed in a spare room, in its original packaging. This past weekend (July 5,2014), we hooked up our brand new, high eff. washer and dryer, only to find the dryer didnt work properly. It would go on for a few seconds, was really noisy and then stop, and repeat again. We called in an appliance repairman. He stated that the motor was faulty and would have to be replaced. $150 for the motor and $150 for the labor. I called Whirlpool (Amana), who said they would pay to have someone check it but that was it. Obviously, it wasnt checked properly at the factory in the first place, because if the motor was blown before we even used it, what kind of shoddy workmanship is going on. Im sure this doesnt happen often, but when it very obviously hasnt been used at all (as our repairman stated). Why could they not send out their own serviceman to affirm this and then, at the very least, give us a new motor while we would pay for the service call. I dont think we will ever buy Amana/whirlpool ever again. Very shoddy company.

Purchased a brand new PTAC for my apartment. Unit was professionally installed and vibrates so bad it rattles the grates inside the window the unit is mounted under. The unit is less the 30 days old and Amana claims I will have to pay for the diagnostics and labor to fix or replace the unit. Their claim is the unit cannot be returned after it is installed. I bought my Amana bottom freezer refrigerator (Model # ABB 1924 WEWO) in August of 2010 for over $1100. By July 2012, it was leaking from the freezer. A thick layer of ice had collected under the freezer baskets and periodically defrosted and leaked. The Amana complaint department merely said that the refrigerator was out of warranty and offered to sell me a warranty for several hundred dollars. I refused the warranty and called a repairman who cost me $114. He said that the problem was a factory defect. The workers at the factory had plugged up the drain with a type of grommet called a duck bill. This kept the water from draining and caused the freezing. Clearly this was a factory defect, the result of incompetent workmanship and careless quality control. Of course, quality and Amana have become a contradiction in terms. I will never buy an Amana product, and I warn every other consumer to beware of Amana. In my experience, at the very least, this product is defective, and the company refuses to accept responsibility for the inferiority of its products.

Washer & dryer Mod NTW4705E WD and NED4705EWO - Both appliances are the most worthless piles of junk I have ever paid over $400 each for. Washer was delivered with a bad master control board so the Amana repairman said. After replacing and using the set twice, I determined the washer doesnt agitate enough to get the dirt out. It makes an awful grinding noise while agitating (normal per repairman). The water levels are too low and after rinsing, the spin cycle is insufficient to remove the water. Clothes are still sopping wet. This adds to the drying time of the somewhat inefficient dryer. On high heat, it still takes 120 minutes to dry a normal, medium sized load of clothes. And YES, the dryer is properly vented with a new, unobstructed vent which exits to the outdoors. They are both just cheap, Chinese CRAP!!

They were extremely rude on the phone and refused to take it back. Not when I call the new repair company told me it would be fixed the day after Thanksgiving, following up today they now say the part is on backorder until next month. In 2002 bought Amana Distinctions top load washer and electric dryer. They worked great for 11 years with zero problems. The dryer still works. The washer died because when I started hearing a strange noise a couple of weeks ago, I didnt do anything about it and kept using the machine. Then during a load it started smoking. Turned out a bearing or gear or something went bad and the belt got out of alignment and running like this killed the transmission. I really wish I had called the repair person when I first heard the noise because the repair is too expensive to justify. My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009.
My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009. Last week, March 5, 2011, it broke. It began buzzing. When I went to check it, the washer has an “ND” code and it would not open. The first girl I spoke with was Samantha. She told me that she couldnt find that code in her computer (on the net is says it means no drain, most likely true), but she told me how to get the washer to unlocked. Eventually, it did work. My washer still had dirty water and soap in it. I handled the soapy mess and later washed my clothing at my in-law’s house. When I called back to talk to them about why my washer wouldnt work and what they could do to help me, I was told nothing. I spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. The only thing they were willing to do was give me a warranty plus one. Meaning, that I get this repair fixed and one-year warranty on the piece of junk in my basement. My washer wont be 3 till May. There is no reason for it to be broken. I also did my own research and many people have complained about the same problem. I feel that this washer should be recalled or at least the company should fix it at no cost to the consumer. This seems to be an on-going problem with this model. We bought thinking this we were buying from a good company. Now, Im stuck with a scrap pile till I get the repair guy to come out, thanks to a warranty that I have to pay for out of pocket.

This isnt a NEW model fridge. I purchased it back in 1991. Ive never had to repair it. It just keeps on running! Once, my daughter didnt close the door all the way, so the fridge ran constantly all night long and had quit running by the following morning. I unplugged it and let the motor cool down. When I restarted it, it ran like before and has been running since. It still looks good, not new, but presentable. Im holding off replacing it since Ive heard the newer fridges arent made to last. Its not as energy efficient as a new model, but, last I checked, its not an energy hog either.

I called in to purchase 2 grease filters and a charcoal filter with a light bulb for my confection oven and they no longer support their products. I have model ACo1180AB which is ten years old this year. When they discontinue their items after 12 months they no longer have to support the items they have sold in the past. As a consumer this is unacceptable. Do not use your hard earned money to support this type of company. This is the same as if you purchased a brand new car and your front head lights are no longer working and you call in to request parts for your car so you can drive it on the road but find they no longer have those headlights so you can not use it any longer. The unit works but you can not use it because they do not support their product because they discontinued the manufacture of those items..

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH AMANA AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM!!! I have owned Amana central air conditioning systems in a number of homes, and always thought they were of the highest quality. In fact, I installed a central system at our summer beach house, which operated reliably and without any problems whatsoever in a high salt-air, highly corrosive environment, and it served us well for more than a decade. As a result, when we were building our new house in 2009-10, I specified five Amana systems for our 7500 square foot home. WHAT A MISTAKE! This summer, we have learned that three of the five evaporator coils are leaking, and further learned that the HVAC subcontractor NEVER REGISTERED the warranty with Amana. Simple fix, right? Just call the Customer Service department and explain the problem. No... the Amana organization has totally ignored us, in what may be the poster child for horrible customer service. They have stonewalled us, and have not replied to phone calls and emails. Their local distributor has refused to give us the name of their local rep in an effort to find someone who cares about our problem. No help, no solution. I have to fix the problem and pay for what should have been warranted repairs out of my own pocket, because the cost of the service calls coupled of an electricity bill that has skyrocketed while trying to get help from Amana has me with no choice but to fix it myself. If you buy an Amana air conditioning system and need factory support, forget it. You are on your own, and they will not stand by their products!!!

On February 4th 2009, I purchased an Amana front load washer and since September 29th 2010, we have had it serviced four times to replace. First, the door latch sensor; second, the door itself; third, the front panel and fourth, a new motor was installed on August 30th 2011. Now, we still have the error code 3e, which was supposed to be for the motor pop up again on September 3rd and I had to put in a fifth service. This is the worst appliance I have ever bought. I do not recommend anyone to purchase this item. I dont know what I was thinking when I went to the Home Depot. In the past, I have always purchased my appliances from Sears Kenmore and I still have my 12-year-old dryer which is still going strong.

It will not spin clothes on any cycle without going into a huge across the floor thumping dance! It doesn’t matter what size load either! It simply will not spin without going unbalanced. It slams so hard it has scratched up the dryer sitting beside it! NEVER will I purchase another Amana product! From the sound of these comments, it will do no good to contact the company! I thought Id done adequate research through Consumer Reports, etc. My Amana French door refrigerator model # AFD2535FES worked fine for the first year. Then, the food compartment wasnt as cold as it should be and food began to spoil, although the food in the freezer drawer was rock solid and snow started forming on the inside. Id purchased an extended warranty, so I thought having it repaired would be a non-issue. The repairman said it was due to too much food in the freezer, so air couldnt circulate into the food compartment. He said to defrost the freezer, which I did. It seemed to work OK for two weeks and the same thing happened again--all the food spoiled again, even with minimal food in the freezer. The second repairman came out, this time he said it needed a new heating element. I waited another week for the part to arrive (more time off work) and then he returned and replaced it. Two weeks later, the same problem happened. Spoiled food again, and time off work. I am expecting the repairman later today. This fancy stainless steel behemoth is a lemon and needs to be recalled. The temp inside is 65F and makes storing food impossible. It has been a huge expense and a great inconvenience. I will never buy another Amana appliance and I will advise everyone I know to boycott their products.

We bought our Amana fridge from Sears when they first came out with the freezer drawer, at the bottom. Thought it was the coolest thing ever. 3 months after getting it the freezer handle fell off, so my husband screwed it back on. Again it came off. Needless to say it keep coming off. Finally I just got fed up with it and stuck it in the garage. My husband put it back on again. it was on for maybe 6 months, then came right off in his hands again. Well Ill never own a Frigidaire again and I will add Amana to that list too now. Had this fridge for 16 yrs. My next one will be a Samsung.

We bought an Amana atb2136arw refrigerator in 2006. This is a very basic style top freezer model. In 2011, we ran into the first problem with the food section not maintaining a good temperature. The compressor fan had to be replaced. That repair cost $175.00. Less than two years later, its same problem: The freezer seemed to be okay but temps in the food section couldnt get much below 50 degrees. But this time, the Amana was declared dead by our repair technician. He determined that half the coils in the refrigeration assembly were not working - at all. Basically, the only way to fix it would be to replace the entire refrigeration coil assembly - something that cant practically be done once this model leaves the factory. In other words, it isnt even repairable. When you add up the initial price paid, plus the cost of one repair, this POS appliance cost us $200.00+ per year of use. Needless to say, the replacement refrigerator we purchased was not manufactured by Amana.

After moving in to a new home and seeing a brand new stove installed, I was excited to get cooking. I noticed that the stove grates were bent from the middle (the grates are long and the front burner and back burner are connected on the same grate). I didnt think this would be an issue because maybe the pans/pots I use would be heavy enough to compress the grates down. I was wrong to think that and the pots/pans will slide when put on the grates because of how they are angled. I have spilled a full pan of oil (luckily not heated to a dangerous temp yet) when the pan was placed squarely in the middle of the burner and it just slid forward and off the stove top.Amana was called to try and get replacements for the brand new appliance but they told us that the bend in the grates is on purpose and they will not be fixing the danger their appliance puts us in. I now can only use the back burners (one of which is very small) or I run the risk of hurting myself with hot falling pots and pans. They are confident this is normal and are fine with the dangers. Do not buy from Amana as they will sell you a dangerous product.

I purchased the Amana 25.1 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Model# ASD2522WRS from Home Depot 15 months ago, in September 2010. Two weeks ago, all my food in my fridge spoiled. I noticed while I was pouring milk in my sons cup, something told me to taste it because it didnt smell fresh even though it had over three weeks until expiration. It tasted like sour cream. I am so glad my child didnt drink that. I almost threw up. Also, I had four-day old ice tray in my freezer that was still liquid, my ice cream softened and all my sons popsicles crumbled to my touch. I had to throw away majority of our food and weve been eating carry outs since. I contacted Amana and they told me the warranty was only good for 12 months. They scheduled for a technician to come to my house for repairs. I was suppose to be priority since I was stuck at home without food. I waited all day for technicians to come and/or call. I even tried to call and couldnt get through since their lines were busy. I left a message and received a return call the next day. Amana gave them the wrong phone number. I wasnt given a quote so I asked the technicians directly for a estimate and they said they were going to charge me $129 just to come to my house + charges. Say what now? That is ridiculous.

I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. Machine stopped draining and started showing error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman, and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said because the relay was encased in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give the part number, he said that the part was on a nationwide backorder and would be $400.00 when it became available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the part W10273828 is in fact on back order and no one has one. It seems that this means that this part is a definite weak link, and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.

Amana Wide Dryer - I have purchased the dryer less then 50 days ago and the timer is already bad. This is the customer service ladys response after I say the timer is bad and they still have to order the part so it will be a few more days before it is fixed. I have already had to go to the laundromat once because 5 people live in my home and 2 of them are boys that are 8 years old. It has cost me more money at the laundromat than it does on my electric bill in 2 months. Im sorry but if you spend hundreds of dollars on something, it should work more then 50 days and you should understand not everyone can afford $40 twice a week to go to the laundromat. I will never ever purchase a appliance from Whirlpool (Amana) again after the way I was treated on the phone today. Her best response is We are gonna fix it. Its under warranty. Well yeah duh, I paid for a warranty. On the plus side, ABC Warehouse was so embarrassed that they gave me a extra year warranty on them. Sad I wont be telling my friends anything nice about you company but ABC is tops at customer service. Maybe Whirlpool employees need a course. Bought this on 5/1/2018, was delivered 5/8/2018. Called service because of how wet things were and dishwasher walls were extremely wet. First repairman said there was nothing wrong. Called the company and they sent a different repairman who found that it needed a new control panel, that the heater was not coming on. That was replaced on 5/24/2018 and I am still having issues with wet dishes and very wet walls when the cycle is done. I have had other dishwashers and none of them were wet when done. I think I got a lemon and have been trying to get the company to give me a replacement, even if I have to spend a bit more money. I am disgusted with the performance of this Amana product and would never recommend it to anyone.Updated on 06/15/2018: So disgusted with my new Amana dishwasher. After calling and having repairmen out 4 times I was told nothing more can be done. The is fact that my dishes and silverware have to hand dried after the cycle is done and the interior of the dishwasher is very wet. The last repairman told me its because of the thin plastic that is used and the heat is not as high is the problem. He said that after it is used for a while the walls will become seasoned. What a bunch of crap. My old dishwasher had a plastic interior and I never had to dry anything. I am so sorry I bought this dishwasher. I will never recommend Amana to anyone. I would like to dump this piece of junk on your doorstep. I have sent other emails on my problem to which I never got a response. Ignore me and I still will not go away.

We purchased a NEW Amana Electric range model #AER6303MFS2 11 MONTHS AGO. Heat escaping from the stove seems to be excessive when cooking. Kitchen gets uncomfortable hot. Had Amana technician check (8/24/2020) and during the heat cycle (with stove set at 350 F) stove registered (with techs instruments) a low of 328F and a high of 382F....a 54 degree swing??? Tech indicated this was normal range. This seems excessive on both ends. Spoke to Home Depot and their appliance salespeople could not confirm or deny this 54 degree range as being normal! Contacted Amana thru survey channel and have not received any response. Looking at replacing stove with another brand that has better heat control.

If you must buy an Amana product, get an extended warranty and keep extending it for as long as you can. Unlike the folks who make these Amana products, the Assurant Solutions service protection people are a standup group. Its clear from just a little research that this product (Amana ACS3350AS) had design and manufacturing flaws from the start, including oven and broiler igniters that dont last more than a couple of years. Unsafe overheating of exterior oven surfaces. A poorly placed computer control unit that overheats with the rest of the oven. Since they stopped making the computer, less than six years after we purchased the thing, its dead. Amana argues that the California state obligation that parts be made for seven years does not apply in this case. They consider it seven years from the date of manufacture and not purchase or it seems like they are saying we didnt buy it when we bought it. Run from these people if you have a choice. The warranty company (Assurant) is paying $720.00 for the oven we spent $1,000.00 in 2006. I believe I spent $200.00 on extended warranty until 2014. No money on five repair visits. You do the math. Please keep in mind this is the same corporation that owns Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Consul, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Gladiator. Collecting brands, not customers. Consider the service youll get.

Our new oven came on time, installed easily and worked well. However, after its second self-clean cycle a round hole appeared in the finish of the floor of the oven. This hole is about one inch in diameter, with little cracks radiating outward from it. We called Amana, who sent a repairman to assess the issue. Subsequently, Amana shipped us a small tube of touch-up paint. This paint is a different colour than the ovens interior finish (black vs dark blue), stinks horribly for several days after application, and does not fill the hole even after three applications. A further call to Amana has yielded only the statement that there is nothing more they will do.By the way, the repair technician who came told us that its quite common for this kind of flaw to occur. Be advised, your nice looking appliance may start looking ugly soon after purchase, and youll be on your own! We have an Amana refrigerator model ARB2557CSR. We have had it for 8 years. We have had a few repairs over the years, but last night took the wind out of all of us that witnessed the door fall off the hinge and break the contents that were on the door. If anyones foot would have been in the area, it would had sliced it off or crushed terribly. The door was opened and for unknown reason, dropped off onto our slate floor. If our grandson would have been near, he could have been crushed. I checked the hinges and sprockets, and it still didnt make sense. After reading other remarks about doors in consumer reviews, I am one to be added to the list. This door was one large door, not double door. It was heavy. Please be aware of this defect. I am looking at other models, yet similar malfunctions have occurred that reviews have stated. Really a frightening experience. We will be looking at other models, yet not really confident about any. Hope this helps.

Had nothing but problems and the unit was 5 years old. We got tired of having it worked on and breaking down over and over. Decided to bite the bullet and have another local contractor install a different furnace and very happy now. They let just about anybody sell the Amana product it looks like.

What I like best is the way the inside is organized. The door have various sized compartments and hold a lot of smaller items as well as tall items. I have a freezer on the bottom and it is much bigger than my former standard fridge. The pull out drawer makes things easy to find. The only problem I have is that food easily slips behind the shelves and falls below the shelves.

I woke up this morning and found a crack 8 long left front corner on model number AER58330VAB0 Amana stove that I purchased 2009. Amana customer service had my purchase information in their computer. The contact customer service phone number 866 616 2664. I told the service rep nothing fell on the glass nor was there any misuse of any kind. Customer service states the stove is too dangerous to continue to operate and would not send me a replacement glass. I spoke to the Customer service manager whom was more irate than her subordinate and she kept repeating and stating she has a stove with 4 boys and hers is fine and never broke and it is 5 years old. I informed her the glass looked thin in this area and she stated because it is not under warranty she did not want to see the glass which should be examined and reviewed for product safety observation. She refused to help me and only documented that if I continue to use it she will be putting this information into my computer complaint record. The customer service manager actually hung up on me and would not allow me to speak to her supervisor and stated call the store where I purchased it from.

This is the worst stove I have ever used. 70-100 degrees off in oven, takes forever to preheat. Top elements wont heat properly, cant boil water unless a lid is on. Do not recommend this product. The first stove I sent back, replacement is no better. Would be ok for someone that does not cook.

First and foremost DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA anything!!! I made that huge mistake when purchasing my oven and bottom freezer refrigerator in 2004. Compressor was dead within 5yrs of purchase. The stove was and is a nightmare!! Of course this stove is no longer made and good luck trying to find parts. This stove retail was approximately 1100.00 middle of the road price but for all the error codes it throws out, it makes one think how dumb was I to even THINK about buying this model or brand!!Replaced two oven sensors, temp regulators now door does not shut correctly therefore heat escapes from oven and get ready because when that happens the timer/clock control board melts!!! Really???!!! AMANA is blind to this and will ignore all of your complaints!!! You might as well just hold a match to your money when it comes to AMANA!! One will have difficulty finding parts for a discontinued model on anything but this is how AMANA conducts business!!! I totally understand with time all things need to be replaced and simply run its course. However, 4 to 5 yrs life expectancy is max on all AMANA anything! Just tell yourself AMANA is no longer being made and save yourself the aggravation.

We are a single couple with few loads to run. After 3 years our Amana front load washer circuit board went out. It was replaced with a three hundred dollar new one. 3 years after the replacement was installed, the replacement went haywire. This is a circuit board part that everyone says is no longer available because the manufacturer doesnt want to replace anymore. So, long story short: Original cost of new Amana front load originally: $560. Cost of first replacement circuit board $385. (Replacement part lasted 2 years). New cost to replace our Amana washer $600. New cost to haul off Amana washer $50. Wow! My total $1,595. It used to be that Amana was a great name. Ill never buy from them again.

Washer and dryer were in the house when I purchased the house and they were new. But I have 2 issues with the washer. It does not have a liquid fabric softener dispenser and the bleach dispenser has spotted some of my dark clothing. The washer washes small to extra large loads also delicate. But it appears not to empty fully so I no longer use it. On the other hand, the dryer works well and has many selections for air to time setting to auto dry.

Our three year old Amana bottom freezer fridge did not cool the upper fridge. After checking coils, etc. called a repairman who took about 5 minutes to diagnose the problem: control board failure. $200+ (Canadian) for the part, $135 service call, plus tax. Just under $400. Ive suggested to Amana/Whirlpool that they consider building a better product. Repair guy sees it often. He carries the boards in his van. He did say that Whirlpool brands are getting worse, but couldnt say who was getting better. Sad and annoying and just bad business by a company that could do better, but probably wont.

We inherited an Amana refrigerator which was about 10 years old. Per the previous owner, it’s been worked on before since warranty companies refuse to replace an item regardless of repair cost. Our compressor went out. 900+ dollars to repair. I’ve never had a such issues with a refrigerator but I also usually buy Kenmore or Maytag. Also the ice maker doesn’t work regularly but we can’t get that looked at until the compressor issue is resolved. Our last refrigerator, a kenmore, lasted 26 years with no problems.

Amana Gas Range AGR5630BDS - We purchased this range from Home Depot and took delivery in Dec 2014. In October 2016 the oven began to shut down after about 30 minutes cooking time and an F2 code showed in the display. Weve had the service tech here 3 times. An oven temp sensor was replaced but the problem was not solved. We then replaced the top ECR module and still the problem exists. Now however when the oven shuts down there is a spewing of natural gas and we have to manually shut the oven off and throw open a window. We are stuck with a stove that wont work and is unsafe, and we are out of about $300 over the price of the stove. We cannot sell it and are hard pressed to afford a new stove. We called Amana and they had a so what attitude. I know that we will never buy any Amana/Whirlpool product again.

Bought an electric dryer, model #NED4655EW on 11/22/18. It was delivered on 11/27/18. Used it on 11/28/18. Went to use it on 12/4/18 and it wouldnt dry. Called company and they stated it was past the 48 hr window for return and they would have to send a technician out to service it. I stated to them that I had used it only once and it should fall under the lemon law. Will never purchase another Amana product. Brand new but already needing service after one week. So everyone please know that Amana sells junk!!!

My Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, which is about 6 years old, broke dow
My Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, which is about 6 years old, broke down in November 2011. The circuit board was the reason as advised by the service man. I declined the offer of a 3-year warranty and agreed to pay for a new circuit board--about $350 if not more. I planned on changing the fridge in any case so I agreed to pay. This April, five months had gone by and the freezer is all iced up. The upper section of the fridge is not blowing in cool air so I called the service people again. The service man opens the freezer, takes away the back panel, uses the blow dryer, opens the back area and tells me its the circuit board again.A new circuit board in 5 months at a cost of 1,200 shekels? No way! How does a reputable company like Amana supply circuit boards that last for only 5 months? Something was very wrong. I asked the service manager over the telephone to leave the old circuit board and I would send it to Amana to see if it is an authentic Amana spare part or some phony Chinese part that breaks down every 6 months. The service man told me to buy warranty. I asked him if he was an insurance sales man or a refrigerator repair man. It seems that they are big on selling warranties because all spare parts are fakes, faulty or simply of bad quality.Anyhow, I got very angry and said there is no chance that I will pay another $350-$400 for another circuit board, when in another 6 months, I will have to change it again. But because I have warranty, then I will get it for free. Still, it doesnt solve the problem of the circuit board failing every 6 months-- bad quality, made in China. Then, I got my circuit board for free. The service man took the old board away, with the unmarked box and left as fast as he could--suspicious. I can almost say for sure that the circuit board placed inside the fridge is not an original spare part and that seems to be the way the service people work here in Israel. I will let you all know in another 6 months. But Amana is no longer a choice of mine. I think I will buy Smeg. My stove and dishwasher are, so far, problem free.Amana is a big disappointment. This customer complaint should have a Facebook page. You would probably reach a lot more people faster and maybe then would these big corporations think twice about selling their faulty, low-quality appliances.

Was purchasing my first washer & dryer and, quite frankly, looking for best value I could find. Bought Amana washer and dryer and while I dont do tons of laundry, they have both been great. Our 7 year old Amana Bottom mount fridge started making the sound of death-
Our 7 year old Amana Bottom mount fridge started making the sound of death-- the start overload /relay clicking every 3 minutes and the compressor not running. I tried replacing the start overload/relay just in case that would fix it. It did for a week and now the fridge is dead. Testing the compressor leads shows the compressor is dead. Replacement cost of a compressor here is $500 parts plus $350 labor. I am told by service technicians that the compressors in not just Amana but most all current energy efficient fridges are conking out on average between year 7 and 10. So those of you wanting to save money and save the planet should rethink scrapping your older fridge to be green and save energy because you are going to end up paying less in electricity costs but lots more in financing costs on $1,000 fridges that last 7-10 years. Plus you will be filling up the pockets of appliance salespeople with your money while filling up the scrap yards with all those dead but energy efficient fridges. Maybe they can recycle the metal into toys to sell offshore?I saved an estimated $50 a year in electricity by using a new energy efficient fridge. I paid $1,000 in 2004 buying the first fridge and now 7 years later, I pay another $1,000 for fridge #2. Repeat as required every 7 to 10 years. Fortunately, I was home when the fridge conked out so I could move, beginning to thaw, frozen food to my 1960 vintage chest freezer which continues to hum along. Just think what fun it would have been if the fridge conked out while I was away on a 2 week holiday? Conclusion, bend over and take it as no current manufacturer makes a fridge that lasts like the old ones did.
